I know this is very silly, but sometimes I keep marvelling at why/how Paul is so pretty.
It’s like.. every feature of his face is interesting. And oddly beautiful enough on its own that even if some other majorly beautiful features of his face are not visible he’s still very handsome and interesting. Like the eyebrows and the eyelashes. They’re pretty spectacular, but there are many photos where his eyebows are hidden below his hair and his face still makes you go ‘’wow what a face’’. And when his pretty mouth is hidden behind a beard you can still think the same.
And sometimes you don’t even see HIS EYES much. Which are like the prettiest thing about him. And he’s still beautiful! He can be very attractive even with closed eyes you know. I mean how? What makes him so pretty with closed eyes?? (them behind the eyelids?? the nose and the eyebrows?)
Tumblr media
(not to mention that even HIS FIGURE without a face can be attractive. Or his back without an ass. :) But I’m talking mostly about the mystery of his face here.)
oK i know you must find me pathetically in love, but yeah, I had to share.

"hey why are all the barrier garments like linen shirts or chemises or combinations going away?"
"oh we have more washable fabrics now! you don't need to worry about sweat reaching your outer clothing when you can just chuck it in the washing machine!"
"cool!"
[100 years later]
"so uh all of those new washable fabrics are leaching microplastics into our water, and the constant machine-washing wears garments out faster. they're also not really sturdy enough to be mended, so we keep having to throw them out and now the planet is covered in plastic fabric waste that will never break down. also it turns out that the new washable fabrics hold odor-causing bacteria VERY well. so could we get those barrier garments back please?"
"sorry babe linen now costs $100000/yard and since it's been so long without them, nobody knows how to adapt barrier garments to the current styles anyway"
"..."
"maybe try this new $50 undershirt made of Special Sweat-Wicking Plastic Fabric! :) :) :)"

So usually when an imaginary friend is a real thing in a story, it’s either a demon or a ghost or some supernatural boogeyman that probably wants to eat the kid they’ve befriended (Mama, a couple of the Paranormal Activity movies), or “imaginary friends” are just treated as a real thing in the setting, and if a child just thinks hard enough they can manifest a friend into existence (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Happy).
And somewhere in the middle is an area where the imaginary friend in question is real and they are supernatural, but they aren’t malevolent, and they aren’t entirely honest about what they are. Like maybe they’re a fairy or a god or some kind of boggle from mythology, but they just got caught by a six year old and they don’t have time to get into it, so they just go “…Yes. I’m your imaginary friend. We haven’t met. How do you do.” And then they stick around because they do love this kid, and if you’re a boggle from mythology in the modern day good food is really hard to come by.
And at some level. That’s what I think Hobbes is.

chappel roan’s got this sudden very huge burst of attention and since then she has
shown up to jimmy fallon in full drag
shown up to her concerts in even zainier outfits than before
worn a nun costume to one concert and when people were uncomfortable she was like good. toodles!
very clearly stated she will retreat from the public eye if she feels threatened by her fame
put very firm boundaries in place, not caring how that might make her look in today’s ass backward society that thinks artists owe everyone everything
she really is trying the hardest to do this in her own terms, in this industry that pretty much allows no wiggle room when it comes to being as big as she’s gotten. it’s clear to me she doesn’t care about maintaining the level of notoriety she has now, she cares about connecting to the subset of people who her art has always been aimed at and that is it. and i find it so admirable! it must be really hard to get what every artists out there is trying to and not let yourself get influenced by it, but she is remaining steadfastly herself. it’s so refreshing and it makes me like her so much more

When my nephew was four, a friend of the family passed away. The man was in his 90s and died of natural causes, and we were going to the funeral. We sat my nephew down and explained who this was, and that he had passed away, and now we were going to a sort of quiet party to celebrate him, and that there he might see the gentleman in the casket, and he might be very still, because he had died, but that everything was alright.
My nephew contemplated this calmly for a few minutes, and then said, "I think he will be very flat."
What.
It turns out that at age four, my nephew's only real context for death was roadkill, which he frequently pointed out while we were driving. He therefore believed that the only way anyone died was getting run over by a car.
