"Adams has consistently said he is cooperating with the investigations and has denied wrongdoing through the steady drumbeat of searches, seizures and departures of top members of his administration.
But as news of the indictment spread Wednesday night, he began to mount a defiant defense that he was being targeted by the federal government for his political views, adopting language similar to former President Donald Trump and other politicians accused of crimes."
"The indictment alleges illegal actions stretching back to 2014, from when he was Brooklyn Borough president.
“For nearly a decade, Adams sought and accepted improper valuable benefits, such as luxury international travel, including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him,” the indictment reads."

(More of) the Foxes doing the WIRED Autocomplete Interview
Question: What is Renee Walker hair color
RW: Whatever I want it to be. Currently a lot of pastels.
Question: Is Renee Walker gay
RW: You tell me.
Question: Renee Walker charity events
RW: Oh, I set up a lot of them. I have some animal rescue ones coming up as well as an event at the local homeless shelter. I have some bigger ones coming up that I will share more information on if anyone is interested in helping out.
Question: Is Renee Walker adopted
RW: I am. My mom adopted me when I was, gosh, thirteen I think? A lot was going on at the time. She’s a lovely woman, my mom. I’m very blessed to have found her.
Question: Renee Walker pets
RW: I do have a lot of pets. I like to post pictures of them. They're all rescues. I have two bunnies, a cat, a turtle, a hedgehog, three hamsters, and a lizard. I love them all dearly. My friends rotate who watches them when I’m out of town for various things. Except for Neil, he tried once but I think my lizard was rude to him so he refuses to come over anymore.
Question: Who is older Andrew Minyard or Aaron Minyard
AM: I am.
Question: Why was Andrew Minyard arrested
AM: Boring.
Question: Neil Josten and Andrew Minyard rivalry
AM: Not a question.
Question: How old is Nicky Hemmick
NH: Wouldn’t you like to know? You should never ask someone their age it’s improper. What if I wanted to pretend I was 25 forever? Couldn’t you just get on board?
Question: Nicky Hemmick husband
NH: My favorite topic. It’s Erik Klose. For the record, we are engaged not married no matter how much I wish we were. It’s taking forever. What if we just go to the courthouse?
Question: Is Nicky Hemmick related to the Minyard twins
NH: I am. They’re my first cousins. I’m also, well was I guess, the twins guardian for a couple of years.
Question: What languages does Nicky Hemmick speak
NH: My first language is English but I learned German as well from my years abroad there. Erik is from Germany too so that’s how we talk to each other for the most part. The twins also speak it so it’s like a super secret code language when I don’t want other people to understand it. Neil and Andrew do the same thing. They literally went out of their way to learn Russian solely for that reason.
Question: Nicky Hemmick sexuality
NH: I’m gay. I’m proud too, even if it took a while to come around to it. My folks weren’t great about it growing up, but it is what it is. I’ve been out and proud for years now. I’m wishing all the seasoned and baby gays out there all the luck and happiness.

Prob what’s gonna happen to Star, if he can’t move his H.I.S.S. Tank aft out the way in time:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PS: Skywarp got so excited that he tore himself away from the Ark to bear witness to the cringe.
(Yes, blind individuals can be witnesses in court)
(Wait, is he blind too or “just” lobotomized? 🤔
Cuz I was thinkin’ of schedulin’ a lobotomy for Megs, esp since I now realize that Skywarp prob got desensitized to violence the same way Star did)

What's a 'Jezebel spirit'? Some Christians use the term to paint Kamala Harris with a demonic brush
Christian nationalist leaders are telling followers that Vice President Kamala Harris is under the influence of a “Jezebel spirit,” using a term with deeply racist and misogynistic roots that is setting off alarm bells for religious and political scholars. The concept is inspired by the biblical story of the evil Queen Jezebel, who persecuted prophets and was punished with a horrible death. The…

Payton Armstrong at MMFA:
After conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined the Supreme Court’s March 5 majority decision to uphold a lower court order requiring President Donald Trump’s administration to pay USAID contractors for work already completed, right-wing influencers lashed out — calling Barrett a “DEI judge” who was “chosen solely because she checked identity politics boxes” and claiming “the power has gone to her head.”
Barrett joined the majority in upholding a lower court order requiring the Trump administration to pay USAID contractors
On his first day in office, Trump issued an executive order to pause all foreign aid for 90 days. The order prompted lawsuits from multiple aid organizations that have contracts or grants with the U.S. Agency for International Development and State Department, “alleging that the agencies have illegally frozen all foreign aid payments.” In late February, Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts paused a federal judge's order requiring the administration “to pay foreign aid funds to contractors and grant recipients.” [White House, 1/20/25; Reuters, 2/27/25]
In a March 5 Supreme Court ruling, Barrett joined the majority to uphold a lower court order requiring the Trump administration to pay USAID contractors for work already completed. The Guardian reported that “Chief Justice John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett joined the liberal justices in leaving in place a ruling from a US district judge last month, which ordered the administration to unfreeze the nearly $2bn in aid for work that had already been done, and that had been approved by Congress.” [The Guardian, 3/5/25]
Trump nominated Barrett to the Supreme Court during his first administration. Barrett, who was nominated to succeed the late liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2020, was among the four current Supreme Court justices who attended Trump’s March 4 address to a joint session of Congress. [CNN, 9/26/20; Politico, 3/4/25]
Right-wing media have been waging a yearslong campaign against DEI efforts, and they have been attacking judges who have halted the Trump administration’s executive actions. [Media Matters, 7/15/24, 5/30/24, 2/11/25]
Right-wing media personalities launched sexist attacks against Barrett following the March 5 ruling, calling her a “DEI judge” who was “chosen solely because she checked identity politics boxes”
Pro-Trump “prophet” and streaming host Lance Wallnau asserted that Barrett is “NOT one of us” because she was “glaring at Trump” during his address, and suggested Trump’s next Supreme Court nominee should be “a strong male evangelical.” Wallnau posted: “She’s NOT one of us. Notice her glaring at Trump. No more female University professors! They’re overwhelmingly liberal. I’m serious. I may be jet lagged but I think she’s a democrat. We always go with Catholics but never Evangelicals. Next one - a strong male evangelical.” [Twitter/X, 3/5/25; Rolling Stone, 9/29/22]
Right-wing media having a hissy over Amy Coney Barrett not ruling in Trump's favor.

I’m sorry you’re going through a rough time! Things will get better, but in the meantime sending you love and appreciation. 💓
thank you! that's kind - genuinely, i am grateful. i hope you're right and things will improve. getting a job would help, although it wouldn't fix me, and i'm hoping if i just keep applying i'll get somewhere... eventually... maybe...
without going into great detail, the difficult part about this is feeling like i don't have anyone to talk to. objectively this isn't true, i do have people i can talk to, but when i try it always feels kind of awkward and embarrassing - no one really knows what to say, and they can't help. so i leave the conversation with the sense that i've inconvenienced everybody, which ultimately makes me feel worse than if i'd never tried to talk about it in the first place. corny as it sounds i'm really glad i do have this blog as an outlet. i think i'd be doing worse if i didn't

speaking of yarn ive been meaning to ask since ive heard of it elsewhere, is the general quality of yarn you can get going down? ive been looking into fibercraft but ive been told its getting harder and harder to find actual good thread without some sort of plastic in it, especially for a good price. so ive been wondering is this true or was it made out to be a much larger problem than it really is (in your experience)?
i've only been into crochet for a couple of years, so i'm not a Fiber Arts Veteran who can tell you the difference between shopping for supplies now vs 30 years ago! i don't really have anything to compare Current Yarns to. in my experience, the only thing i can speak on is cost, and it seems like the cost for yarn has probably been going up. animal fibers are certainly more expensive, acrylic yarns are budget-friendly but are synthetic, if that's something you're worried abt.
so i don't think that stuff is Untrue, but i also don't think it's any reason at all to avoid getting into fiber arts, and you can absolutely find yarns made from cotton / wool / bamboo fiber and stuff like that for good prices! it would probably be harder in-person, like in the aisles of a hobby lobby. but i think lion brand and lovecrafts are good sites to browse for yarn/supplies. it's really not a small-scale problem, someone like moi who's recently gotten into crochet and does it for funsies based on my whims/needs isn't going to really notice, i don't think. as an aside, if we're talking about crochet specifically, you can really crochet with anything at all- i've been making a tote bag out of plastic grocery bags, lmao. reduce reuse recycle or whatever. people will also use strips of fabric instead of yarn, and that's good for stuff like rugs / bags / baskets, chunkier projects. (though ig you could probably make some clothing if you cut the strips of fabric thin enough.) so as far as accessibility to the craft, there is that!
