Admittedly im no hardcore tartaglia fan so idk what kind of discussions you guys are having over there but i feel like i always see people talk about his traumatic past in the abyss or the fatui but what about his childhood. What about the fact that he is basically just some country bumpkin in the fatui. I like to think that the first “weapon” his father made him learn how to “wield” was an axe, not to fight people, but for chopping wood for heat fuel for the house at The Grown Age Of 6 Years Old. I dont know much about the climate in snezhnaya so i cant tell you if they’re able to grow a lot of crops in the summer or if it really is just an everlasting snowstorm there but i can feel it in my bones that whenever his mother was gardening he was called outside to help her weed out the crops (is that what you call that process in english???). is there any death in the rewrite that you consider to be really graphic? where do you draw the line in the violence of a character's death?

Hmmm... Probably Tigerstar honestly! The cats wrote a song about his organs falling out.

I think when it comes to the "line" of a character's death, it's very subjective. Me and every other kid who read WC pogged out when Tigerstar had a really drawn out, horrific death on-screen, but I'm still haunted by Sootfur with his broken leg, falling down towards a badger while Squilf couldn't save him and seeing the aftermath of his "sightless eyes" when the animal moved off him.

One of those was objectively less graphic, but imo a LOT more harrowing. I think emotions are a lot more important in how deaths are received by an audience than the actual blood and guts, which I think gives you a decent idea of what you're gonna get here.

I think Leopardstar's rock concert is the "ceiling" of how intensely I describe deaths. I think that one's pretty graphic, but it's for a reason. The point is that it's a brutal killing that haunts Mistystar, you get me? And I try to write "around" the gore, describing sounds, the rest of the body, etc.

There is also cosmic/body horror with the Ancestor Rats, and more importantly, BB!Cats do food processing. They skin dead animals and separate the organs and such. When I get around to doing an entry on animal fat, I would also like to show WHERE in the body the fat is stored on certain animals. It's a lot more important to nutrition than you think it is.

BUT whenever I feel like I'm "around" Leopardstar's Boulder Appointment or an Ancestor Rat, I always always tag that. Less "violent" things like the song about the organs (Tiger's In A Heap) and more gentle food processing (like an offhanded mention of removing entrails or skinning) isn't tagged.

If I ever end up including a "diagram" of where fat is stored in the body or "how to properly skin a small rodent" It will be tagged as gore and I'd try to stay tasteful to begin with, I would ABSOLUTELY never drop something like that on anyone untagged and unwarned.

"Jason," Reyna called breathlessly from across, shaking her head almost pleadingly. He'd never seen that expression on her face, in her eyes. He could see it now. The terror overwhelming her body. "Don't. You— you can't hope to—"

"Look around, Reyna. There's— there's no one left." He raised his arms as weak as they were, as sore as they were from the endless bloodshed of fallen enemies and comrades. Among the very few Centurions of the cohorts, stood he and Reyna. But he knew.

He was helpless, useless, and alone. Time was running out. The clock to his life counted down the seconds and lives were lost, what was one more? What was another life sacrificed if the life itself was the reason they forced themselves upright against Titans?

The light in the eyes of the Legion faded away, gone in the wind like their plans for the future. They were to be buried, honored, never forgotten but in vain.

Jason took a step forward. Then another. Until he was face to face with his foe. Blond brows furrowed, electricity thrummed through his eyes and the faint scent of static rose in the atmosphere as blond hair raised and stretched in each direction as if he was underwater.

"I am the son of Jupiter!" He shouted with authority, clear blue irises stormed over with clouds of dark gray and his chest was on the verge of exploding. "I am a son of Rome, the Centurion of the Fifth Cohort. I bow to no tyrant."

A boastful laugh tore through the Titan Krios' throat, looking down his nose at Jason with distaste. "You cannot hope to defeat me, boy."

Jason held his lance high above his head, calling on the power of his father and welcomed the surge of power that coursed and slithered through his veins and body like a snake. "Don't you know Rome is well-known for overthrowing your kind?"

The son of Jupiter jumped high, willing the air to take him into the sky as he spun the lance around in his hands and pointed the weapon down at Krios, the spear aiming for the center of his forehead and between the eyes.

"Allow me to show you!" A clap of thunder clashed with bright and thick tendrils of lightning from the Heavens wrapped around the lance as Jason struck.
