i finally did it.

after almost 60 entire hours of gameplay... and numerous mental breakdowns...

i completed brothership. and BOY do i have far too many thoughts.

some thoughts and game review in tags (SPOILER WARNING AHEAD)

#i didnt expect me. a 15yo. to complete such a long game in one piece #YET I PERSISTED #the story. the characters. the complex level design. EVERYTHING about this game was near PERFECT #dont trust me when i say this cuz this is the only game ive ever actually played in this series... but this is my absolute favorite #out of all the games. 10/10 totally recommend #even when im the one making the phsycological horror. the peachs castle scene TERRIFIED me #this game fuels my angst tendencies to the point of no return #and oooooh im gonna milk it enough alright #connie is such a calm collected sweetheart. the bros must adopt her #technikki is well... smart #fuck you tho adaphne. get out of my sight #chilliam and burnadette are cliche but are absolutely one of my favorite mario couples #the extension corps being jackasses and then deciding to do good was a nice touch #cozette is just me #reclusa including his weeping forms is just a silly adhdfilled toddler vibe #oh yeah snoutlet is cocky in the best of ways. i promise ill never call u a pig again js give me back my family #groovemaster dyude and emmit must marry and thats a DEMAND #mario is chill and caring. luigi is a dumbass genius incarnate #the great conductor is there i guess. was a cool fact about snoutlet and had the best bros attack #speaking of bros attacks and bros moves i loved every one of them. theyre all so creative and have their own charms #i wish they brought back firebrand and thunderhand but oh well i guess we got mix-max vortex and zapperator in their places #i think i have so much more to say but i forgor #js. wow. okay so ive been into jeweler richard for a while now, i watched half of the anime when it came out and found it unremarkable (now it fills me with rage) but i didnt start actually thinking about it until the manga came out and i actually read it. I stand by my reccomendation of the manga and in still looking forward to reading it when more volumes come out (volume 6 got delayed till next year). I knew OF things in the LN and they intrigued me but i wasnt really into light novels cuz i read on my phone but i didnt know how to get books(for free) on there. Untill i started reading orv that is(thanks dokja). Its really not that important for the story but recently ive been ravenously reading the jeweler richard LN (im on volume 5 now in the past like weekish)

And uhhhhh wow its so good. Like acutally good i totally get what people say about seigi now he is absolutely unreliable about......everyone around him. This is my reccomendation if you watched the anime and liked it or read them manga pleaseee read the light novels. It is the ideal JR experience

#Idk why orv and JR are so linked #Im thinking about u @ririban we're in this together #Sorry if this is out of line #I was reading some jr fanfics earlier and i was like 'woag thats my tumblr mutual' so cool #Im feeling a lot of things that ppl say about orv with jr tho too #With the manga its hard to get into seigi's head cuz he has to be simple to understand #We dont see his stream of conciousness and goddam it sure is a stream #If you thought his admiration of richard was excessive in either visual medium you have no idea #Its like every paragraph #Also theres a good balance of factual information and drama #I also like how u can tell whats actually happening vs how seigi tells it to us #So far my best example is when he passes out in london and he wakes up to richard taking care of him #Hes completely bogged down with information (and fever) and still thinking he and richard and that close #From richard's perspective anyway #He describes richard as calm and collected and uncaring(nicely) but its so clear richard is worried about him #Its really well worded #Also i get to read with hindsight of knowing volume 13 exists its a true treat #jeweler richard #housekishou richard #jr

thinking about the kiru and kara dynamic again. in particular karas view of her is very amusing to me

#larry time #to start out he views her as like. a glamorized version of how she portrays herself/wants to be seen #kiru likes to be seen as reliable and 'safe'#strong. unoffending and unassuming. calm and collected and the kind of person you'd like to ask for help #when they first meet kara sees her as this And a manifestation of his sort of ideal of masculinity. butches always winning etc etc #of course her dressing like (a classy and tasteful version of) the models in his magazines certainly adds to this #kara is also observably the kind of person who likes to help others. albeit because he likes praise and looking like a good person #so i think he would offer help to kiru quite often and do silly little tasks for her (esp. when she's still in college) to look good #BUT luckily for him unlike his brothers kiru is actually very appreciative of this #she's the kind of person who would drive herself to the ER because she didn't wanna bother anyone. like #egregiously independent and she has been since kennys death. she doesn't expect help so when she Does receive it she's very appreciative #this obviously only inflates karas ego further. but over time as they became close friends it becomes more genuine #especially after she starts helping him with learning english and other miscellaneous stuff #and even more so when he finds out about everything she went through before #that paired with kiru picking up the nickname of 'appi' (which is kiiind of a regional version of 'aniki')#just really gets to him. hes the second biggest offender of the moefication of kirumi nikuya #(guess who the biggest is. bet you can't)#so he goes from thinking of her as super cool + suave to like Ah. i need to protect you.. (loses at arm wrestling against her in 2 seconds)#ANYWAYS. im done rambling

OC RNG stuff.

-Lucinda is engaged to the oldest prince in a family of nine where there are 8 brothers and then the youngest is the only girl. She adores her future husband. -Ink Blot is a really dumb mage who acts as a street performer using fake magic despite being an actual mage. He just wants to be the center of attention. -Ruby and Luce are from the same plot (thank you RNG I love the dream wardens). They're part of different pairs and basically just patrol to keep dreams in check. Ruby and Luce also don't really meet each other in canon. Their routes don't overlap but they both interact with the main duo which is Colette and Marcus. (Ruby wants to beat Marcus up while Luce wants to kiss Marcus for what it matters.)
