Its such a priceless moment to have Vincent returned to you after everything he's been through. Whole, unharmed in spite of all the horrors that Deepground threw at him, and looking... happier, finally. Lighter. He isn't dragging his past around like it's chained to him anymore, and with that you finally watch him bloom with the love he'd been denying himself before.

He lets himself hold you without stiffness or distance, lets you press kisses to his face with bemused tolerance when before he would have withdrawn, and seems to realize that he's well-suited to being a big spoon (with a bit of cushioning to cover all those buckles) with a newfound appreciation for wrapping himself around you from behind and resting his head beside yours. Those are the moments where you can expect a low murmur in your ear - usually something surprisingly inane, reminding you of tasks you've forgotten to tackle, or chores that he took care of for you. It's absurd just how thoughtful he is, and it makes you feel lucky to have kept his interest all this time.

He's still more reserved around the others, and you can't blame him for it when his quiet nature was what drew you to him to begin with. His affection is reserved for when you're alone with him, though you can still get him to hold hands around the others so long as Barret doesn't go pointing it out.

In the privacy of your room though, he's an ever present shadow that thrives under a steady stream of affection, and occasionally drives you to distraction by returning that affection tenfold.

"My love," he murmurs so softly, like it's a prayer. It's really all he has to say to draw you away from any mundane task, and you can't help leaning into the hand that gently brushes along your cheek. He looks at you like you're the sun, but not so radiant that he has to avert his eyes like he once did. The only answer you can give him is an absent hum, lilting up with a vaguely questioning tone as he lets you have that gentle curve of a smile for just a moment before he speaks.

"You left the oven on."

"... Fuck." You're graced with one of his warm little chuckles as you hightail it to the kitchen, and can't really find it in you to be annoyed at him. You're his love, after all.
