Lizzie Watches Anipoke, Special Edition - "Celebi: The Voice of the Forest"

We've moved to the first Pokémon movie not written by Takeshi Shudo, and I can tell the difference. Not necessarily in a bad way; I liked this movie a lot, actually. But this movie is creatively different than the earlier ones. As an artist, Shudo is drawn to telling broad stories about nature in the movies. Despite what Revelation Lugia's English dub title would have you believe, Shudo's three Pokémovies all are less focused on Ash and co. and more on showing off the grand powers of Pokémon. Though this film still features Celebi and Suicune doing epic feats, it is comparatively far more invested in Ash, Sam, and its other human characters. This has both its strengths and its weaknesses; Ash is a far more active agent in this movie than he is in some others, but that is at the price of focusing less on Celebi and Suicune.

Ash and Sam's friendship was really cute, which made me have a kneejerk reaction to ship them, but then I remembered that I've seen this movie before and remembering the twist made me have an Apollo Justice Shipping Moment

Also, can we talk about the implications of this movie on literally the entire anime. Did Oak intentionally save a Pikachu for Ash to obtain when he turned 10 because he knew that Ash had to have one. Did he freak out when Delia had a son and announced his name. Rewatching the first episodes of the anime with this in mind will make you speculate like a madperson

Y'know, for the first 50 minutes of the movie, I really appreciated that it only used CG for the backgrounds and effects, rather than like the Unown in the third movie. I liked that they kept all of the main characters in 2D so we could appreciate their expressions better. And then Celebi made its 3D twig monster thing and I took back all of the above bc that thing looked horrendous

I liked that Team Rocket got a happy ending this time. They were just vibing in a magic lake together after a long day. Honestly friendship goals

I also think it's funny in a macabre way that the movie never clarifies what happened to the Marauder. Like, the implication is probably that after he got tied up he was turned in to the police, but like. We don't know that. What if the Pokémon beat his ass. What if the boat guy who was cracking his knuckles helped. What if Towa and Diana helped

EDIT: something I just remembered that was bothering me - why doesn't Ash recognize Suicune from when he saw it upon first arriving in Johto? I assumed that encointer was gonna come back later so I've been paying attention for signs of Suicune, and now Ash just doesn't remember it? This mfer can remember when he saw Ho-Oh 200 episodes ago but can't remember Suicune

Also I swear to God if this anime never brings back the Ho-Oh thing I am going to fight someone. Either it better appear during his time in Johto or like, his departure episode better feature him encountering it again or something, idk. If Ho-Oh turns out to be another GS Ball then I will flip

Overall, definitely a weird movie and a turning point for cinematic Pokémon. I think I prefer Shudo's style of screenplay just for the sheer sense of scale it gives, but I still liked this one more than The Power of One. A canon-changing but solid entry into the Pokémon franchise.

Cordelia Doran

Nicknames: Cor, Corde, Deli, or Delia

Idk for shipping tbh.

Middle child Cousin of Lydia Martin on her mother's side who ends up transferring/moving to beacon hills with her mom, during the summer before sophomore year and before her birthday, after her mother's second divorce.

Torn between unhappy to leave the few friends she had behind and cautious hope that maybe she can finally escape the relentless bullying that she has faced for years.

Corde's older sister, Elaine, stayed at their old school while living with their dad since she was going into her senior year and didn't want to leave her friends. Their younger half brother, Bobbie, was staying with his dad and half brother (step father & step brother of Elaine and Corde).

Corde is definitely more of a wallflower and definitely barely knows how to even talk to her cousin since Lydia and Elaine were always closer since they like the same kind of things. Corde's instinctive dislike of Lydia's boyfriend Jackson is a sore subject especially since Corde takes his words personally and gets visibly upset at what she sees as bullying behavior.

Between time spent in her room, in the woods hiking, and in the library; She luckily, in her opinion, hasn't had to "stain" her cousin's reputation since Corde knows she is disappointing in that regard as she isn't popular or fashionable. She can be warm, kind, and honest but she also holds a mostly silent grudge, moody, and guarded.

She could possibly end up fitting in with Stiles and Scott but between Stiles loud crush on her cousin and possibly feeling like she isn't good enough, i don't see her feeling completely settled with them.

I could see her befriending at least Boyd but possibly also Erica and Isaac. The latter two might not accept for their reasons and I don't think she would push especially since she doesn't have that confidence for it but she would still be kind to them still because she is use to her feelings being not mutual (both romantic and platonic feelings) especially since she knows she is probably intense as she heavily values friendships.

Corde is very much still the little girl that went up to a new girl, when in elementary school, and asked enthusiastically and genuinely if she "wanted to be best friends?"

She is a dork that loves stories in all forms (comics, movies, books, songs, musicals, plays, video games, and myths). She doesn't enjoy horror movies as they give her nightmares as she has a very active imagination. She loves to do artsy things like she prefers finger painting to using a paint brush and she loves to do different kinds of fiber crafts like knitting or crocheting. She also writes fantasy or romance stories when not dabbling in poetry.

She loves to paint her nails all the colors and will use different colors of lipstick but aside from that she doesn't really do much with makeup. She also tends to dress for comfort as most "stylish" things she likes don't fit her body so she just kinda shrugged and gave up on trying to find stuff.

She unironically loves wearing Crocs especially when she can put the charms in them. Her favorite thing about highschool is getting to wear whatever shoes she wants as she went to a middle school with uniforms.

She believes that "cringe is dead". She loves puns and will smile wide even as she fake groans. She loves dancing but like pair dances like waltzing and square dancing instead of more modern teen dancing and she will get very embarrassed and freeze up of people try to get her to do that kind.

She has bad stage fright except if she does things outta spite or in defense of someone else. She is afraid of heights and spiders. She has had at least two panic attacks in her life. She just about inhales soda for the caffeine to either wake her up, help her focus, or help her sleep.

She loves rain and loves playing in the mud even if she hasn't done it in a while. She hates winter only cause her feet get cold no matter what she does which she hates so much and finds it unbearable. She loves Halloween but has mixed feelings about Christmas.

She can't help but bounce her right leg constantly partially out of anxiety both in general and because socializing is scary and she feels paranoid that everyone is judging her for the smallest thing. She will bounce and shake her hands if she is excited. She will also rock when sitting somewhere without a back (like benches or beds or the floor).

She likes a lot of music but isn't fond of rap and she struggles to focus on classical music since the lack of words makes it hard. She prefers country, alternative, rock, and religious music as she grew up with most of them so they give her comfort but she also loves musicals and sea shanties as she loves to sing along.

She struggles with depression as her "first" love moved away when they were kids and she doesn't know what became of him. She also has a lot of empathy in general, she is a sympathetic crier as well as a frustrated crier. She gets bad secondhand embarrassment and will stop reading or watching things that set it off and possibly never return to it.

She does fight her depression though. She tries very hard to find joy in the smaller things (thus her "cringe is dead" pov). Even just someone giving her a pen can make her whole day. She has mixed feelings towards touch. She craves it but she definitely isn't use to it since her family is generally all busy with their own things so they don't really interact physically.

She doesn't like the phrase "I love you" as she felt obligated to say it to her family so now it feels meaningless to her.

She struggles to tell the difference between platonic and romantic feelings and thus has had a crush on all those she considered friends (tbh she gets half in love with anyone that is nice to her). She is ace and biromantic.

Pairing: Cordelia Goode x Fem Reader

Request: a pt 2 to Lionsheart wherein Anna Morgana actually develops some ~feelings~ for reader, due to them spending more and more time together? Then Cordelia gets a tad jealous, and second guesses her decision to bring Anna to Robichaux (but it’s obv resolved in a healthy and date I say, cute, manner)?

A/N: this isn’t my best, but I hope you’ll like it, anon (idk if this is what you meant by “cute” or if it was a secret code for “threesome”, in that case I’m sorry to disappoint). x

Word count: ~ 1 800

“Bacon and maple syrup pancakes,” Anna Morgana said as she set the plate down on the table before you. “Gross. I don’t understand people who actually like this.”

“Shut up, you fool. You don’t know what you’re saying.” You grabbed your fork and knife and licked your lips. “This is Heaven on Earth.”

“Yes but does it taste better than Foxxy?” Madison quipped as she brushed past you on her way out of the kitchen.

Anna Morgana burst out laughing and spilled her tea. “Oh, crap,” she moaned. She glanced up at you, smirked. One of her hands flew out; a flick of her fingers, and the tea was back in her mug.

“You’re so good at this,” you cheered. “You made so much progress.”

“Thank you,” Anna Morgana grinned, blushing with pleasure. “In two years I’ll be the new Supreme.”

You smiled indulgently. Jokes about the rise of the new Supreme weren’t exactly your favorites, because of what it meant would happen to Cordelia. But you knew Anna Morgana was fond of her and didn’t mean any harm.

“All things considered, it wouldn’t be that bad if you were the next Supreme,” you retorted, just as Cordelia walked into the kitchen.

“Wishing to get rid of me already, Y/N?” Cordelia pouted.

You rolled your eyes at her. “I meant for the Coven. Anna would make a fair leader.”

“Miss Cordelia it’d kill me to kill you,” Anna Morgana piped. She paused, frowned. “Not that I didn’t try already.”

“Water under the bridge,” Cordelia assured her with a fond smile. She ran her hand lightly in your hair before moving to the stove to pour herself some coffee. You gazed at her adoringly. It was a hot summer day, and she had tied her hair up in a ponytail, blond strands curling lazily down the nape of her neck. The thin, light blue summer dress she was wearing clung loosely to her waist. She turned, cup of coffee in one hand, and sauntered towards you, barefoot and smiling, looking exactly like an angel.

She was still smiling when she dropped a good-morning kiss on your lips. “Busy day today,” she said, almost sadly. “Don’t get up to mischief.”

“Anna and I were thinking of making lemonade for the girls,” you said. “It’s going to be a very hot day. And then we’ll go to town to buy henna for Anna’s hair.”

Cordelia laid a hand on your shoulder, fingers stroking your skin absentmindedly. “Anna and you,” she repeated. For a second her eyes veiled over, but then she offered a grin. “I’m so happy you girls are becoming such great friends, after everything that happened.”

You flashed a happy smile at Anna Morgana. Things had changed for the best between you two, and you were now close friends. Very close friends, actually. You spent most of your spare time with her, as Cordelia was busy being the Supreme. Anna Morgana and you discovered with badly-hidden delight that you had many interests in common, including a slightly unhealthy obsession with horror movies. The scarier the better. You and her would spend most of your evenings cuddling on the couch, in your pajamas, eating ice-cream till your stomachs hurt. You’d laugh together at all the stupid decisions the characters made, and cheer them on when they were being particularly plucky. At this point you had almost seen everything you thought was worth seeing, and were considering moving on to romantic comedies.

But the best part of those horror movie nights was joining Cordelia in bed and pretending you were still scared, so she would stroke your hair and hold you tight throughout the night. A sleepy kiss on your forehead, a whisper, “You’re safe” or “Love you” or “I’m here”, warmth, your heart melting.

You didn’t notice it, but as time went by Cordelia developed a new habit. She would emerge from her office when you and Anna Morgana were watching a movie and pace the room, making herself something to eat, chatting with some of the girls, sitting with you for a few minutes with her legs crossed and her hands folded on her knee.

One night Anna Morgana screamed when her favorite character got murdered by a zombie, threw her arms around your shoulders and buried her face in your chest. Cordelia’s brow furrowed just the slightest bit. And you should have seen it then, or even later for Cordelia’s face was always so open and honest; but the zombie killed someone else, and you shouted profanities at the screen, and Anna Morgana giggled, and Cordelia stood up with a smile and walked off.  

You waited for her to join you in bed that night. At one point you dozed off, and when your eyes opened again it was half past two and the bed was still empty. That was way past her bedtime; even when she was particularly busy, she would crawl into bed before one, or you would go get her and coax her into getting some rest.

Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you got up and shuffled downstairs. The light in the kitchen was on. Cordelia was sitting at the table, squinting at some papers, her left hand wrapped around a half-empty cocktail glass.

“Cordelia?” you called softly.

Her head snapped up. Her eyes locked with yours, but she raised her eyebrows in confusion as if she couldn’t quite recognize you.

“Delia,” you tried.

She giggled. “That’s me.”She giggled again. “My name’s Delia.”

You shook your head fondly, fighting a smile. “I know it’s you, silly. What are you doing?”

Cordelia pointed at her glass. “Did you know Campari and soda’s my favourite drink?” she said, her words just a bit slurred.

Tipsy, then. You felt a surge of worry. Cordelia never got tipsy. She was too worried something terrible would happen to her girls and she wouldn’t be able to save them because she’d had one drink too many.

You sat on the chair next to her and reached out for her hand. “What’s the occasion?”

Another giggle. “You and Anna.”

You frowned. “Me and Anna?”

“Yes, you and Anna.” Cordelia raised her glass and took a few sips. When she met your gaze again, her eyes seemed sad. “I’m raising a toast to your wonderful friendship.”

“Ok…?” you said, confused, but before you had time to probe that remark, the sadness vanished from Cordelia’s eyes and she laughed drunkenly.

“Have a drink with me, beautiful,” she slurred, bumping your shoulder with hers. She brought your hand up to her mouth, kissed it, gazed at you dreamily. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re very pretty?”

You rolled your eyes at her and poked her nose. “You’re drunk.”

“Am not.” She sighed. “You and Anna are really good friends,” she said, her voice suddenly very small. You frowned, gave her hand a squeeze.

“Delia,” you called gently. Those quick changes in her mood were starting to get you quite worried.

Cordelia lowered her gaze, stared at her glass. “Sometimes I wonder if I did right when I brought Anna Morgana to Robichaux’s. First she tried to kill you and now she’s trying to steal you from me.”

This was...unexpected of Cordelia. She looked almost as surprised as you, brow pushing up in disbelief.

“I…” she stammered, “I’ve no idea why I said that.” She glanced down at her glass sheepishly. “I think I’ve had enough to drink.”

“Hey,” you whispered, leaning towards her.

“I didn’t mean that,” she said quickly, looking at you, doe eyes big and sad. “Of course Anna Morgana belongs here with us. She needed help, and that’s what I do. I help my girls.”

“You do,” you nodded.

“Anna Morgana is such a gifted young woman.”She paused, took a breath. “I don’t know why I said that.”

You tried to give her a smile. “You should have told me how you were feeling.”

Cordelia’s mouth opened on a silent “oh”, curled in embarrassment. “I don’t mind Anna, really. I just wish I had more spare time to spend with you.” A sad smile. “I wish I got to do with you all the things you do with her.”

“Can I – you know what, sit up, sit up babe.”

You laid both hands on her shoulders and straddled her. Surprise flicked across her face, but was soon replaced by adoration. Her hands found their rightful place on the curve of your waist.  

“I’m pretty sure Anna doesn’t get to do that,” you whispered, leaning in to plant a kiss, sweet and loving, on her mouth.

Cordelia’s eyes fluttered closed. She hummed happily and bit her lower lip.

“Or this,” you went on, trailing kisses along her jaw. You nipped at her ear lobe and were rewarded by a soft gasp. One of Cordelia’s arms slid around your waist, pulling you closer.

“I hope she doesn’t,” she murmured, eyes still closed.

“I’m pretty sure.”

She opened one eye. “You’re pretty sure?” she teased.

You hummed. Tilted your head so you could kiss her lips again. “You’re cute when you’re jealous,” you whispered with a grin.

Cordelia opened one eye again. “I’m the Supreme, I don’t get jealous,” she pouted.

“Fine, then you’re just a tiny bit jealous. Because you love me.”

Her other eye opened, soft and incredibly fond. Cordelia’s teeth sank into her bottom lip as her mouth curled into that sweet, infatuated school-girl smile of hers that never failed to make your insides melt. “I do,” she said with a giggle. She raised a finger, poked your lip. “I’m the – “a hiccup “ –‘preme and I love you.”

“Alright, almighty ‘preme, let’s get you to bed.”

You wrapped one arm around her waist for support, just in case, as you walked up the stairs, which proved difficult for Cordelia seemed intent on kissing your neck. She was giggling against your skin, her hair tickling your nose, her hands sneaking under your shirt in a way that was entirely too distracting. Heat was slowly building in your stomach.

“Delia,” you groaned as she flicked her tongue over your pulse point. “Can you – gosh, can’t you wait?”

She let out a smug noise and proceeded to pepper hot open-mouthed kisses down your neck. You tripped over nothing and almost lost your footing.

A door opened. Anna Morgana’s tired face popped up. She squinted at you. “What’s up?” she mumbled.

You walked past her, Cordelia’s face still buried in your neck, praying your cheeks weren’t too flushed. “Don’t mind us. I’m only on my way to tuck the Supreme in,” you said, with a casual wave of your hand, as if Cordelia’s mouth wasn’t doing obscene things to your skin.

“The very cute Supreme who’s cute because she’s not jealous,” Cordelia giggled drunkenly.

Anna Morgana’s brow furrowed in confusion. “Right,” she said.

She was about to close her door and go back to sleep when Cordelia suddenly raised her head, locked eyes with her, quirked one eyebrow, and, with a smile that was so wicked it would have made the Devil shiver, sank her teeth into your cheek to sign her name in a neat row of crescent marks.

This is her coming to terms with the fact that maybe it’s for the best that she won’t stay around forever. Not being immortal allows her to live in the moment and savor all the time she has.

The first born bby~~

1) Delia is the type of bby to throw quiet fits. She’ll just sit and pout until she feels better about something that made her pouty in the first place LOL. Right now, she’s sitting down next to daddo, having a fit. DadChad finds it adorable.

2) So…she’ll more often than not be recognized as her dad’s kid. But…people can’t tell who her MOM is. And while she is happy that people sees her dad in her, she…also wishes people would see her mom in her too. (Yes I forgot a word there, but I couldn’t be bothered to fix that. ;’D) 3) Delia would be an explorer later in life, probably in mid-to-late teens. Sometimes she isn’t near a town to get to a healer, so she treats herself until she gets there. She is weak at healing magic, but she’s able to use it to close her wounds (or anyone else’s if she’s with company, or if she comes across someone injured).

Ok, here we go (I’ve never watched one Emma Chamberlain video so I’m only finding out now that she’s got her own coffee brand???! Do people actually pay for it? And is it any good?!? Someone let me know pls):

Outfit 1: Zoe Kravtiz would wear this but the pants wouldn’t be draw-string. Details people! I say all of this but the babes at Fitzroy has run this outfit into the ground about 2 years ago. 

Outfit 2: I’m too old to find any merits in this fit but my friend’s sisters in middle school would totally wear this

Outfit 3: Kaia Gerber says she wants her whole look back. The colour blocking is honestly kinda cute but she also looks like a children’s toy so idk. I like the first bag for it, not the cheetah one. 

Outfit 4: Ok, I like this! I love myself a basic fit with a massive pop of colour and print. The sunglasses tie into it super well as well! 

Outfit 5: Switch out the pants and we’ve got a Princess D-inspired look here. I don’t love the shoes but I don’t hate it. The fit of the barbour jacket is actually really great on her - not too oversized but just big enough to sag a little. I can already tell by this outfit that she’s a Brandy Melville kinda gal. The LV bag really aged the look imo.

Outfit 6: This is the worst one so far. It looks like it came straight out of a 2000s Delias lookbook. Not a fan of those pants but props for having the confidence to rock ‘em!

Outfit 7: “I can already feel the judgment through the screen” Yeah, basically

Outfit 8: She looks like Stussy sponsors her, but I know for a fact those pants are from Holiday the Label. I mean it’s cute, but it’s been done.

Outfit 9: I feel like she could have gone full prep and done a ponytail with it. It’s cute - it’s like a relaxed approach to dressing like a Ralph Lauren model from the 90′s. Again, she looks like she shops from Brandy. 

Outfit 10: Throw that Von Dutch cap away and you’ve got a trendy outfit right there. Rue from Euphoria would wear this, half of LA would wear this. 

Outfit 11: This could have been a serve if she swapped that top out for something else. I love myself a colorful outfit but that print doesn’t go with the rusty palette she’s got going on with this outfit. 

Outfit 12: I was going to complain about the cow-printed purse (the other suitcase bag isn’t any better tbh) but I see the vision here, she’s trying to give us some lowkey western/cowgirl vibes. Find another bag, like a cute crossover or even the one from outfit 3, and throw on some chunky platform boots to really commit to the lewk, Emma!

Outfit 13: Kendall Jenner would wear this to go get coffee with Luka Sabbath and co. I hate it. 

Outfit 14: I can see myself loving every component of this outfit separately but when put together, it just doesn’t look right. I know I don’t need those platform knee-high boots from UNIF but my god, do I want it!

Outfit 15: There’s a weird 6-month cross-over style period between the end of the 80′s and the start of 90′s where people couldn’t quite commit to normcore and she’s channeling. I’d do a different shirt and keep everything else. This honestly could have been such a cool monochromatic look tbh. 

Outfit 16: NO. NO. NO. NOT A PAUL FRANK T-SHIRT OVER A LONG SLEEVE. I’M CRINGING AT MY 10-YEAR-OLD SELF BEING FORCED INTO THIS OUTFIT

Outfit 17: ...I don’t get it? Am I just getting too old to get it?

Outfit 18: Nothing special but it’s cute in a basic way, I guess?

Outfit 19: This is the part of 80s fashion that I can’t get with. I really do appreciate her matching the collar of that Heaven by Marc Jacobs baby tee with the jeans. That’s a cool idea but ditch the puffer, please?

Outfit 20: I see Hailey Bieber wearing this and getting dragged for it. So in saying that, I don’t like this outfit. I know patchwork jeans are coming back in trend but these ones look tacky tbh. 

Outfit 21: I’d be exhausted after all of that and change into something cozy too. 

In summary, I’m beginning to realize where all my friends’ little sisters and cousins are getting their style inspo from. I used to see them in outfits like 16 and 13 and be confused as to who/what they're trying to channel and why they’re doing it but I get it now. I think I’m too old to enjoy her sense of style but I actually do think that she’s got a really creative vision, she just doesn’t know how to execute it to its full capacity or without being too messy. I think with some time and a few trials and errors she could really be a solid dresser!

okay so maybe Charles and Emily always wanted a big family, but they had difficulty conceiving and it was hard enough for them to have Lydia, so they sort of gave up on the idea of a big family. so Charles doesn’t mind (read: is thrilled) when Beetlejuice sort of slides into their family.

Delia’s also always wanted to have a family; a spouse and as many kids as they could support. but her life didn’t seem to be heading in that direction, and by the time she hit forty she’d figured that her hope to have a big family was gone. so like Charles, it really isn’t unwelcome when her new family starts to grow.

now, it’s true that two kids doesn’t usually count as a “big family.” however, it’s also true that it does count as a “big family” when one of those kids is Beetlejuice.

(to be clear, Beetlejuice isn’t a child; in human terms, he’s in his early thirties. so when I talk about a parent-child relationship here, I mean parent-adult!child relationship. it’s more father/mother figure than just father/mother. just thought I should make this point clear since I ship him with the Maitlands, which would be not be okay if I was portraying BJ as in his teens/early twenties or something.)

Beetlejuice starts to see Charles as a father figure before he starts to see Delia as a mother figure.

that’s because he first sees Lydia as his sister, and he tries to relate to the people around him the way Lydia does. since Lydia doesn’t really see Delia as a mother figure (she starts to later, but not right away!), BJ doesn’t see Delia as a mother figure at first either.

BUT since Lydia only sees Charles as “Dad,” that’s exactly how BJ sees him too!

(I mean Lydia has known Delia, Adam, and Barbara as people other than her parents, but Charles has only ever been “Dad” to her, and it’s hard to see your parents as being actual people, not just your parents, especially when you’re young.)

Charles panics a little at the realization that he’s somehow adopted a demon who’s at least twenty times older than he is, and that panic manifests as him trying to engage Beej in traditional father-son bonding activities.

the fishing trip doesn’t go well, as Charles wasn’t aware that Beetlejuice does Not Like water, and it hadn’t occurred to Beetlejuice that fishing might involve him being near water.

they try to play catch, except Beetlejuice misunderstood the point of the game, so when Charles tosses him a baseball, Beetlejuice opens his mouth and somehow manages to swallow the ball whole. Charles is too disturbed by whatever the fuck that was to try again.

but! they figure out that they like going on walks in the woods together! Charles likes to try to identify the plants and wildlife they see, and it’s a good way for Beetlejuice to get some fun snacks.

Charles is (mostly) used to seeing BJ eat random bugs, but on one walk he sees Beetlejuice pop a couple of wild mushrooms into his mouth, and all Charles’s logic flies out the window for a moment.

he starts yelling at Beetlejuice to spit them out, and in his shock and confusion, Beetlejuice does the opposite.

Charles is in the process of dragging Beetlejuice home and has started to dial 911 before Beetlejuice can even react.

“Whoa, Chuck, what are you doing?”

“That looked like one of the deadly Amanita mushrooms. They’re extremely toxic; we have to get you to the hospital right—”

“Uh, Chuck? I’m dead. Those angalida—”

“Amanita.”

“—indochina mushrooms aren’t gonna make me more dead.”

“…oh.”

Beetlejuice makes fun of Charles for forgetting that he’s, y’know, dead, but he’s secretly touched that Charles cares about him enough to panic like that.

and Delia! Beetlejuice starts to see her as a mother figure before Lydia does.

(actually, Delia being all “mom” around Beetlejuice helps Lydia warm up to the idea of Delia being a mother figure to her, too!)

they both have a ton of self-esteem issues, but they work on that together!

also they do spa days! sometimes Lydia joins in, but it’s usually a mother-son bonding thing. they do foot soaks and homemade face masks. Delia always has to make extra face mask …goop? (idk what to call it) because BJ will eat it. he likes the ones with honey best!

they talk a lot about stuff! Delia’s awesome to talk about sex with because she’s so nonjudgemental and open. once Beetlejuice stops trying to shock her or make her uncomfortable they actually have pretty deep conversations, and she helps him develop a healthier attitude about sex.

Delia starts teaching him how to meditate! it’s really hard— especially when you have ADHD— but it’s also really helpful and rewarding as long as you keep at it! and Delia never gets mad about how long it takes or about how BJ struggles to sit still or keep quiet for just ten seconds. she doesn’t give up, and after a couple months of five minute sessions he’s actually able to meditate a little!

also Beetlejuice makes her a necklace! (the Maitlands had a jewelry-making phase.) it’s the ugliest thing ever and Delia adores it, and she actually manages to make it work with some of her outfits. (she’s that good.)

during the weekdays, while Lydia’s at school and Charles is at work, Beetlejuice usually spends time with the Maitlands. but if Delia’s home, BJ will follow Delia around the house (like how my family’s dog follows my mom around lol). most of the time he doesn’t even try to distract her or engage her; he just wants to be in her presence! (once Lydia gets home though, he’ll leave Delia in favor of following Lydia around.)

Delia quickly becomes someone Beetlejuice goes to for comfort or emotional support. Lydia, bless her heart, does her best, but she’s not the most emotionally mature person (she’s fifteen! that’s okay!) and she has plenty of her own problems too, and BJ recognizes this and turns to Delia as a result. Delia’s hugs are awesome and help him forget about Juno.

in conclusion Charles and Delia are Beetlejuice’s parents and they love and support each other thank you and goodnight.

Imma just say my thoughts on the show. I've go so much to say about Tiny Pretty Things lmao. Spoilers under the gif. I'd love to do the See More thing so y'all dont have to scroll if you don't care but tumblr is bugging out on my laptop and mobile doesn't have that option.

So I originally thought that the show would be haunting of bly manor/hill house meets ballet. Those vibes you know. The trailer was amazingly done. Sucks the show wasn't.

The trailor showed Cassie falling/being pushed off the roof, Cruz trying to bring her back and that's really the last the viewer sees of her. I thought Cassie was dead. I thought it would be a murder mystery but nope. Cassie survived and woke up from her coma. I thought racism would be tackled. Nope. Never even mentioned. Some cool double life. Not really. You've got pedophile rapist and girls being pimped out. All the chatacters apart from Torri and Matteos mom are insufferable. I hated all of them and didn't give a shit about them.

Neveah is the main girl. She's a 16/17 year old girl of color entering a rich elite school of ballet. By the end of the show, the watcher knows nothing about her apart from her felon mom and wheel chair bound brother. Neveah started off strong in ep 1 and 2 but turned into a side chatacter. Bette, the rich white girl, becomes the main chatacter. She gets more scenes than Neveah and more developed relationships. She also gets a homophobic boyfriend so.. Yeah. We meet her mom and brother. Then you never see them again. Like literally after the music video scene they just disappear. They don't even show up at the Ripper dance or call Nev. Nev reminds me of Grace/Anna from Grand Army. Like Anna, they were terrible friends to the girls who got assaulted. Nev knew something was up with June but did nothing. Then she goes to the reporter about the assault when June specifically asked her not to and ended up putting June in danger. Nev does not care about the people around her until they become beneficial to her and her agenda. She had no reason to visit Cassie when they didn't even know each other.

Bette is the elite rich white girl with pretty privilege. She did EVERYONE dirty yet they all defended her when June and Shane got mad at her for good reasons. She had the audacity to forgive her homophobic boyfriend. He called someone a f*g just cause they bumped into him and Shane lashed out at him. It's not Bette's place to forgive him when his homophobia doesn't harm her. She is probably one of the characters with the most sex scenes. She also basically ignored her boyfriend's eating disorder. She's also a drug addict so sis has a lot of shit going on in her story.

Shane borderline assaulted Oren and is a hypocrite. His character was ruined for me the moment he shoved his hand down Orens pants and pushed him on the bed when Oren was trying to do the right thing. He continued to call Nabil psycho and never apologized for it even after Nabil was cleared. He's also in a relationship with an adult. I believe he's a sex addict as well.

Oren is bland. No personality and suddenly caught feelings for Nev even tho they only had a conversation like twice. He has an eating disorder and I hope it's more touched upon since lots of guys go through eating disorders.

June is.. I have mixed feelings about her. Some eps I loved her other eps I hated her. She's a thief, lier, crybaby but she tried doing the right thing a few times and realized Bette was playing her. She accused Neveah with no evidence about the door jam. Their friendship is so weird. The moment her mom chose not to meet Ramon I knew they were going for the 'villian is one of the characters dad'. If done well, the trope is great. They didn't do well. Also, girl in red vibes from her.

Nabil was the most tolerable characters on the show. He was accused left and right. His roommate hated him for PRAYING. Orin and Caleb were so lowkey racist towards him and Caleb was outright islamphobic. He didn't hold back. Nabil and Neveah had potential but Nabil chose Cassie and then suddenly went for June? Idk that was dumb. I don't hate him. I'm neutral about him.

Caleb can suck a big fat dick. I hate him with every fiber in my being. He was so islamphobic. Like for no reason. He got mad that his roommate prayed. You bet your ass he would care if Nabil was Christian. Are you fucking serious? Then he has the AUDACITY to suddenly become buddy buddy with him. I'm happy Nabil had none of his shit at the start. I hate his voice too.

Cassie should've died. They could've still had her be in those dreams. It would've been like her haunting them. Her parents suck. Her relationship with Ramon was unnecessary. I do like that she isn't sweet and is instead a bitch.

Cruz is as useful as the cop from Elite.

Matteo is lowkey a pedophile and is also homophobic. I wish they didn't make him homophobic cause his character is nice but he enables the fuck out of Bette. He tells her off then smiles and comforts her. Dev is confirmed a pedo and is a dick. He doesn't know what he wants and got mad at Shane for not liking a homophobe. Did nothing about his bosses going after pimped out teens until others knew about it.

I have mixed feelings about Delia. They could've had her reason for confronting Cassie be that she didn't want to be outshined instead of her being mad about Cassie stealing her man. Delia is the golden child and seems like she knows it but doesn't care. She also acts like she cares about Bette but if she did she wouldn't had let Bette take the fall for her.

Ramon was messy. I didn't like hoe touchy he got with Bette or that he kissed her. I would've been just as petty if the woman who groomed me as a young dancer decided to suddenly announce I would be choreographing for her dancers. He groomed Cassie, made someone touch his dick, and also bascially flashed Shane.

There was a sex scene and an ass in every ep so if you wanted to watch this show with your fam, I'd reconsider. It's gross considering half the characters are minors. They could've aged them up to college students that are 18-20.

Another ghost AU

Okay the premise for this one is sort of a what if they figured out Nina was the chosen one and performed the ritual, but its also an AU.

KT, Eddie and Willow move into a boarding house for the prestigious Ankh school. They notice there are a lot of awards and items in the school dedicated to a group of students.

It turns out that on the 7th of July, around 50 years ago, these 7 students were discovered dead. The cause was believed to be poisoning as the students were all from the same house and the two surviving students admitted to having skipped meals at the house that day. The house mother was arrested and sentenced for murder, despite rumours that she was innocent.

The truth of the tale is different:

An ancient Egyptian artefact was believed to have power beyond scientific knowledge, and, once assembled, was said to grant immortality. However, nature must maintain a balance, and for every life extended, another has to be cut short.

Despite all their research, the Secret Society were not aware of these consequences, or most likely were at some level but chose to ignore it. So, when the ritual took place and life was transferred, they had what they wanted, but at a cost.

The Immortals:

Victor Rodenmaar. Location unknown. Has been off the grid for 25 years after vanishing one night in the middle of the school year

Daphne Andrews. Still a teacher at Ankh. Taught many student's parents and has said she will retire next year for the past 20 years

Eric Sweet. Eddie's father, and a man he's always admired and looked up to. He's not what he seems, and is a lot older than Eddie believed.

Mercer, father to one of the lost students. Has realised immortality is not all it's cracked up to be. Having lost his wife 10 years ago, he lives a lonely life and regrets ever joining the society and offering up his daughter.

Jason Winkler. Joined due to degenerative illness, hoping this would be a cure. It was, and he lives a mostly happy life, when he can forget what part he played in the tragedy.

Doctor Delia. Now the CEO of the local hospital, she's experimented with her immortality, to see if there is a way to transfer part of her life to a patient. It took a lot of work, but 11 years ago, she finally had some success. 14 year old Sophia was fatally injured in a car crash, and Dr Delia used her blood in a transfusion, saving the girl.

Rufus Zeno is the final immortal. It was supposed to be Roebuck, but Rufus broke in and threatened the Chosen One, unless he got what he wanted. Wanting to save the girl, and being the only one who hadn't drunk from the cup, Roebuck sacrificed his chance.

(Had he known the girl would die anyway, it might have been different)

Rufus is out there, somewhere, and he's dangerous.

Back to the story:

(Idk what the plot really is but here goes)

The trio (Eddie, KT and Willow) discover the students used to live in Anubis House.

One night, they're playing truth or dare with their housemates: Stella, Marco, Anna, Raf and Peter. KT is dared to go down into the cellar, where she finds a secret panel. Behind it, she finds 7 balancing scales, an intricately decorated cup, and an empty bottle.

The scales have discs with names written on them. The names match those of the 7 students who died. However, the discs are only on one side of the scales, suggesting there were 7 more previously. KT takes the bottle to prove she went into the basement, and something compels her to take the discs as well, which she shows to Willow once they're back in their room.

They let Eddie know about it the next morning and the 3 begin to wonder if the students' deaths were really as they seemed.

Eddie is walking up the stairs when he trips on a loose floorboard. Annoyed, he goes to try and put it back into place when something catches his eye. It's a metal disc, tarnished with age. He cleans it up and sees the word Zeno printed on it.

He tells KT and Willow, and KT realises it must be from the scales she found. Something doesn't feel right, so they decide to investigate.

Eddie jokingly suggests they hold a seance, and despite Willows warnings, they do.

It doesn't seem to work.

The next day, Willow discovers an intruder in the house, someone who looks very similar to photos in the school...

Willow is unnerved but curious, so she says hey to them. They turn around, apparently spooked that someone can see them, and vanish.

Willow tells the others, who initially disbelieve her, but soon they come to meet the former residents of their boarding house.

The ghosts were obviously affected by their own deaths, and the fact that they're ghosts, but it's been 50 years now, so they're getting over it. They generally try to stay out of the students' ways, as they learnt that people generally freak out at the sight of ghosts.

They appeared as ghosts the same moment their lives transferred to the immortals, but were extremely weak and found it hard to keep themselves together. They were unable to dissipate completely though, something was keeping them there. They had to watch as Trudy was arrested; as their house was put out of action till an increase in students forced them to open it again 15 years later; as Victor still wandered the halls; as all the students came and grew and left while they were trapped in the house.

Unable to die, but unable to live.

Slowly, they began to gain more power, and for the past 10 years they've been able to hold a corporeal form for lengthening times, meaning they can actually do things and go places. They're capable of leaving the house for short distances and periods of time, though if they're out for too long they fade away and reappear back in the house with a killer headache.

They think (hope) this means the immortals are weakening, but it could just be they're getting used to the whole being dead thing.

Their lives were tied to the balancing scales and the person on the opposite side, so they each have some connection to an immortal

This means they get fleeting impressions/feelings from their immortal, which strengthens with their proximity.

Amber gets the most impressions because Ms Andrews still teaches at the school

Nina and Jerome receive hardly any because both Zeno and Rodenmaar are unknowns

However, recently they've started getting fleeting emotions and visuals that aren't their own. The two missing immortals are becoming active and they're heading for the house.

The ghosts can't do much on their own so Eddie, KT and Willow have to be prepared to discover what these two immortals want and put a stop to it.

Eddie finds out that his dad was once Eric Sweet (he chose a different name after leaving the school, to distance himself), the former headmaster of the school and is horrified by the part he played in all this. A confrontation goes down.

There's a bit where they track down Mick and Mara, now in their 60s, and bring them back to Anubis House to reunite with their former housemates. It would be a really emotional scene because while most of them weren't close, you can't live in close quarters with people for a long time, without forming a bond. And when it ended so abruptly with no goodbyes...well.

They also track down the other immortals and bring them to the house to face their ghosts (literally). Ms Andrews regrets it immensely; Delia has no (some) regrets, but argues she's able to save many more lives this way, Jason is in denial.

Don't imagine immortal!Mercer finally seeing his daughter again, only she's a ghost and he caused her death. He's full of apologies, but they're all based around how he missed her, not how he cut her life short.

There would be a lot of regret and grief all round, and anger on the ghosts' part.

While Trudy probably wouldn't be alive after all this time, the trio and the ghosts want the immortals to clear her name.

Zeno and Rodenmaar arrive at the house. They're both searching for an ancient artefact hidden in the house.

(Is it the mask? Is it the Book of Isis? Robert Frobisher Smythe? Who knows? Not me.)

They also want to try and end the other because, why not. Grudges can last forever.

The trio also meet Sophia at some point, who is undergoing weird transitions as a result of the blood transfusion. Her body is fighting it while also trying to embrace it, and it causes her to randomly absorb life/energy from plants or other people. She can also transfer energy to other beings, but this causes her to collapse. She also still looks 14 when she should be in her 20s by now. The trio befriend her and try to figure out a cure.

While their existences are tainted with regret and bitterness, the ghosts still make their own fun. Sometimes they'll pull pranks on unsuspecting students, or just sit in the back of the class room to listen to the lessons like they're students again. They know for a fact Ms Andrews hasn't changed her curriculum in 50 years and can now recite her lessons by heart. They also like to play games in the house like tag or hide and seek, and they will admit its more fun when you can phase through walls.

When they reveal themselves to the trio, they enjoy tormenting them, but also help them with their games nights, charading the answers behind the other 5s backs. Everyone's had near misses with the 5, but somehow they remain oblivious to the SEVEN GHOSTS living in their house. But then again everyone else is oblivous to the fact the 5 are on some Arthurian quest.

I don't know how this story would end, but the best outcome is that they fight Zeno and Rodenmaar, and some truth comes out that Rodenmaar has discovered a way to reverse what was done and needs an artefact from the tunnels to conduct the ritual. Zeno, meanwhile has discovered another ritual that would give him the power from the other immortals to essentially make himself a god.

Naturally, both are trying to stop the other from achieving their goals.

Initially, KT, Eddie, Willow and the ghosts (and Sophia) attempt to stop both parties, but when they discover Victor's plan they work to take down Zeno. Once he's subdued (taken down by Sophia draining his energy), they summon the other 5 immortals.

Some of them take some convincing, but others are all too ready to give up this immortal life. They get time to tie off loose ends. Ms. Andrews hands in her resignation, Delia entrusts someone (Sophia?) with her work, Mercer has a long talk with his daughter, Eric has an even longer talk with his son. Victor spends his time in Anubis House, telling the kids his story and apologising for taking so long to fix his mistake.

Eventually, the ritual takes place, and the next day sees 7 new students enrolled who look uncannily like the students in the pictures.

(It takes them a while to adjust to the fact they can't walk through walls anymore)

In which I over analyze and obsess over *checks notes* Catherine Rawson?

I’m obsessing over whether or not Catherine Rawson realized that Anne and Ann WERE sleeping together when she apologized to Anne

because my first inclination was like “no, she didn’t realize it. she specifically used the word friendship and thought that Anne was staying there for completely platonic reasons, out of the goodness of her heart”

but like, maybe she did know?

she was the one that brought up Anne Lister liking women to Ann in the first place. Also, she was at the meeting of the tribe where the details of the Ann(e)s relationship were discussed very bluntly (whatever else she’s letting [Miss Lister] dip into). Also, Delia (her sister) differently knows that Anne is into girls because Anne flirted with her and she was into it. And was still into at the meeting of the tribe where she got a Look from Catherine for seeming a little to eager to be talking about Miss Lister. So at least up to this point, Catherine suspected that Anne and Ann were sleeping together. 

Then when Ann’s panic attacks got Serious and Catherine was staying there, she was staying there in literally the next room. And walls be thin. Anne’s half hearted “I was staying in my room and somehow miraculously heard her wake up” went without acknowledgement so either the walls are thin enough to hear or Catherine knew it was lie because how would she hear that.

Also after Catherine apologizes, she and the Ann(e)s are together and Ann brings up Anne spending the night and Anne asks Catherine to leave. And Catherine’s reaction just a “Oh, of course” and happily leaves them to discuss sleeping arrangements? Her reaction just seemed strange for someone who didn’t know that this was definitely a private matter and Anne saying whether or not she’d sleep in the room next door wouldn’t really have been a private matter, so...Catherine knows? And is cool with it now? 

And when Catherine apologizes, there’s not language for “I’m sorry I was homophobic to you” back in this period, but Catherine assumed Anne was gay, at least up to a certain point. So what exactly she’s apologizing for isn’t completely clear? Is it “I’m sorry I thought you were gay but clearly you aren’t because look how much you care about Ann” or was it “I’m sorry I thought you were a bad person because you were gay, clearly you aren’t and you love Ann and I was making unjust assumptions.” Being gay would have caused people to make negative assumptions about someone’s morality in this period because MoralsTM were...stupid and hypocritical then (unlike today amiright? *cry-laughs into oblivion*) but idk. I feel like they might have been hinting at Catherine realizing the flaw in the moral absolutes here and seeing that Anne was sleeping with Ann, yes, and also loved and cared about Ann.

I’m gonna admit, I’m definitely over analyzing this. Needlessly. But I’m very concerned about this matter, not so much because I like Catherine by any means (though I will for sure like her if she realized its Ok to Be Gay) and this is more me being Desperate for Ann Walker to have one friend/family member who isn’t a pile of garbage and will be cool with her being a lesbian. Please give my girl SOMEONE

this here is georgina spencer , but call her georgie ( she might not answer if you use her full name because ... she forgets that’s her actual name ). 

she is the youngest daughter of frankie and delia spencer, but has two older and two younger siblings. that said , she suffers severely from middle child syndrome. poor georgie. she was born in st. redford and has never lived anywhere else. if it were up to her parents , she’d die there, too.

anywho , she was severely unremarkable as a child. somewhat quiet , somewhat forgettable. her older siblings always outshined her , and it was always time to keep an eye on the younger ones. that was fine with georgie. sort of. she lived in her own little world. she’s a day dreamer. kind of forgetful , definitely ditzy. more often than not , she loses track of conversation and needs a thousand reminders for everything.

she found her niche when she was eight. a community theater was seeking children for the ensemble. her mother signed her up on a whim. it was fate. she never looked back.

the starstruck girl decided the stage was where she belonged. under the lights , with all eyes on her , she loved slipping into the skin of another. that was that. she decided she was going to act. there were no back-up plans or practical things to fall back onto. georgina spencer would be famous one day , she was sure of it. 

but until that day came , she was stuck in st. redford. which was fine. she had things to do. like community theater. and reading all of the shakespeare plays she could check out from the library. and forcing her siblings into her own made-up plays.

when she graduated high school , her family didn’t have the money to send her to a fancy school to study acting ( which was frivolous and fanciful in their minds ) but she had money saved up from babysitting and summers life-guarding to go to community college. there she studied ( what else ? ) theater.

since then , she’s been working a bunch of part time jobs. she’s saving money to move to hollywood. she still is riding the dream she’s had since she was eight. she’ll get there one day. she’s sure of it.

so that’s georgie’s background. but what about her personality ? 

think karen smith from mean girls , with a bit of emma woodhouse from emma and haley dunphy from modern family. she always means well. she’s the nicest person you’ll ever meet. but she’s absolutely hopeless.

she apologizes to inanimate objects if she walks into them. she says everything without thinking. she just is. she’s bubbly and kind and a little bit dumb. i love her. she’s my dumb baby with big dreams. also she’s easily taken advantage of.

2: What would you name your future kids?

I feel like that’s a joint decision, so I can’t say. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll want to have my own kids through childbirth. My family has a genetic disposition to difficulties during pregnancy. I might adopt.

3: Do you miss anyone?

A few people. Some of them I haven’t even met in person. I miss my BFF from school. I miss a few people online that I’ve fallen out of touch with. I’m always missing people. 😂

4: What are you looking forward to?

College, and moving out of my house. I’ve been itching to do both of these for years now.

5: Is there anyone who can always make you smile?

6: Is it hard for you to get over someone?

Once I’ve gone all-in, yeah. When it’s a crush, not usually. I’m really slow to develop a crush on someone. Painfully slow lol. I’m cautious because I’ve been hurt by people in that regard a few times. One incident had me suicidal for a long time.

7: What was your life like last year?

Kind of the same? I didn’t have this blog open. If you had asked this regarding two years ago, I would have said that I wasn’t homeschooling, didn’t know how to play piano much, didn’t have this blog, and was very depressed because of my old schoolmates.

8: Have you ever cried because you were so annoyed?

YES! Whenever I feel stuck and know I have no control of a situation, I get frustrated and find a quiet place to cry.

9: Who did you last see in person?

I’m assuming this means out of my own household. The last person I saw was my older sister and her roommates, who I am really good friends with. One of them loves coffee as much as me and it’s great! I spent the night. That was over a month and a half ago lmao. Before that, I had gone on a date at a coffee shop.

10: Are you good at hiding your feelings?

Yeah. My family gets angry at me if I’m sad or angry about anything, so I hold it all in. It definitely has made life a bit harder. I make people angry when I won’t disclose my feelings to them. I just find it to be better to hold it. I have to be really comfortable with you and really love you if I’ll tell you that I’m sad/angry and why.

11: Are you listening to music right now?

Yeah. It’s Le Pire by Maître Gims. He’s a really great French singer.

12: What is something you want right now?

If this is concerning food, I’m in the mood for chicken right now lol. I need some protein. Aside from food, I’m wanting to get a pedal for my electric piano. I have no sustain and it ruins a lot of songs. 😂 It’s why I have my ko-fi open.

13: How do you feel right now?

Meh. I’m not feeling great. I have some issues with fainting. My blood pressure drops like a rock at times and I feel it coming on, if you know what I’m saying. It’s this kind of lethargic, sick feeling. I’m trying to drink a lot of water, just in case it’s about dehydration.

14: When was the last time someone of the opposite sex hugged you?

When I last visited my favourite coffee shop. For those of you who read Caffeinic, Chan’s character design is a mix of his true personality and a barista at my café of choice. He always gives me a hug when I see him, and when I say good bye. 😊

For a quick description, I’d say that INFJ, which is my MBTI type, is really accurate for me. I’ll let one of my friends try to describe me. I’m bad at describing myself lol.

All the time. It was that lyric that hooked me on this song.

I think 90% of us have them. They are humbling, which can be good, but I urge you to know your worth. I’m such a hypocrite.

Not really. Not much has changed.

There wasn’t much there, but I liked what they had recorded. From then, I saw some of their survival show and may have kind of fallen for Channie and his personality lmao. Whoops.

okay no but to start with, lucille!  i feel like i don’t even need to say much for her because. like. her acclimating to denny and figuring out how not to be stagnant there has been such a highlighted process, at the forefront of her arc. but as it stands now, i think lucille is… i don’t know if “happier” is the right word? i don’t know that lucille’s reached the emotional extreme of “happy” yet (sorry she’s a very dour character) but she’s more content and kind of self-fulfilled on denny than she ever was in her own world, or in her own home. she’s embraced artistic outlets over destructive ones, she’s gotten very very accustomed to the modern world over the course of three years, she’s learned how to let things go and to kind of be content not clinging to things.  she really considers denny her home now more than she does alderdale, which is huge progress, and it’s not really like she has anything to go back to so. she’s just gonna keep moving forward.

siobhan… also doesn’t really have anything to go back to. initially on denny she was pissed that she’d been robbed of her shot at revenge (not just for the sake of it, but because that was apparently the one thing that could have broken her curse), but honestly just by virtue of being on denny for so long and getting wrapped up in so many different things, a lot of her immediate anger at cat and kara has faded. stuff like ‘getting framed for mass murder by the mld’ has kind of put some stuff in perspective for her. and more recently, she’s been coming to realize how important to her the almost-family she has with the denny guardians is/has been, and how that feels more real than anything she has back home. going forward, that’s gonna be her priority. and when she starts doing… well, slightly more guardians of the galaxy-esque stuff, i don’t know yet exactly how she’s gonna take to it, but it may help to give her a stronger sense of identity that she was ALSO lacking back home.

sara… has become kind of torn between two worlds. she loves the denny legends, and she realizes that going back to her own world means never seeing (most) of them again. and also that she probably wouldn’t be able to have the same kind of relationship with nyssa, once they both go back. she has a lot going for her on denny, but unlike the two listed above, she ALSO has a lot to go back home to, and will always feel a deep and inherent sense of duty and loyalty to the original legends. given the choice…. it’d be a hard one for her, but she probably would ultimately choose to go back. as it stands now, though, she doesn’t have any sway over that, so her philosophy has just kind of become “deal with what’s in front of you for as long as it’s in front of you”. for as long as she’s on denny, she’ll try to give her denny life as much focus as she can.

bramblestar is another character who has become almost unbearably torn. though i have to wonder at this point, if given the same decision as sara, he wouldn’t make the opposite choice? thunderclan was the clan he was born into, and he’ll always love it, and his original clanmates, and his old home. but lionclan has become just as strong a part of his identity in that it was something he and the other cats have built from the ground up. in that sense he’s honestly more entrenched in and attached to his denny life than a lot of my characters. and he’s their leader, whereas he was only thunderclan’s deputy at the time when he was taken, so… yeah, actually his first loyalty is probably to lionclan and thus his denny life at this point. he’s also one of my characters who could feasibly die on denny without actually going back, which is weird,

badgerstripe… does love tigerclan and feel a similar sense of identity after everything they’ve been through. she’s a riverclan cat through and through - i’m not really sure how to articulate how that’s different in regards to her identity than bramble being a thunderclan cat is, but it just.. she was always very family oriented and stuff - and she’ll probably never stop wanting to go home and go back to her own life, unlike bramblestar (although if she ends up having kits, that could challenge this). but her loyalty to tigerclan is still genuine, and she really values her attachments there, and as another character on my roster who’s isolated from human society she has a very… different perspective overall. but yeah.

dolores’ experience on denny has been very. jarring for her, in a lot of ways. she’s been able to settle down and experience more normalcy on denny than she ever would have been able to back home, and she still has a very complicated relationship with that notion. because there are parts of her life on denny that she very much loves, and has become attached to, but there’s always gonna be that idea that she should be back home. that she shouldn’t get used to this, that she shouldn’t let it soften her, that there are so many things bigger than this that should matter more and so to get too attached to normalcy is selfish and potentially weakening. she’s gonna be one of those characters who will always want to go back home, to some extent, but i like playing with the complications of that when she’s starting to develop such an established life on denny.

it has occurred to her that she has more firsthand-knowledge about the human world now than she ever did back home, and that there are ways to maybe… weaponize that, on a slightly darker note. dolores is still very. dangerous in the wrong situation, honestly

sophie-anne honestly, most of the time just acts like she doesn’t care one way or another about adjusting or going back. she actually has way more vehement reasons NOT to want to go back home than she lets on – back in her world, she was just getting out of an extremely uncomfortable forced marriage, and she was still in hot water with the vampire government, so really being suddenly taken to another world was rather convenient for her! and honestly, she’s perfectly content on denny. she hasn’t hesitated at all to lay down roots and swindle her way into a fucking mansion and establish a business. she’s very adaptable by her nature, but it helps to not be too possessed by any strong kind of longing to go home.

although one thing she won’t quite admit to is that she does miss hadley, her not-quite-girlfriend, more than she ever expected it to, but. she’s a 500 year old vampire. she’s used to losing people.

camille’s current status: too depressed to care,

no actually, she was in a pretty miserable and awful situation back home, so in some ways gaining all this sudden distance from it is a relief. in other ways, she feels like she’s been robbed of closure, or some kind of responsibility she should have taken, but then. not dealing is kind of. her thing. so at this point in her life, she honestly probably would have stagnated a bit no matter where she was. on denny, she’s kind of just thrown herself back into what she ‘knows’ – reporting work is one of the few things that qualifies as normal for her, and it keeps her busy, and it is kind of a relief to be somewhere where she can be so anonymous and nobody knows anything about her baggage. but she’s not happy. she’s not really settled. if she had the choice to go back home, she’s not really sure what she’d want, beyond feeling some sense of obligation to take care of amma (who she does really miss, in spite of everything), but it’s so hard for camille to know what she wants or how to make herself happy in like, any situation, so. she’s just kind of treading water.

sly is none too happy about being separated from, you know: his friends, the woman he has feelings for, and his entire family legacy, aka the three most important things in his life! but, while relatively new to denny, he’s not the kind of person who lets himself drown in things he can’t really do anything about, so he’s just trying to make the best of it while he’s here. at the very least, building up a reputation again seems like both a challenge and an act of utter defiance - both of which constantly appeal to him - so.

and i’ll do some claims too – nightcloud, unlike bramblestar or even badgerstripe, is really really aggressively loyal to her former clan and doesn’t like the whole lionclan situation very much. to be fair to her, she’s much more new to this than like, anyone else, and was also coming from a situation where she had some pretty heightened clan loyalty. having her sneak into tigerclan is an interesting plot because there’s so much opportunity for her to like… cement some loyalty to lionclan that way, but also start to feel for tigerclan once she gets to know them some. i don’t know where she’ll end up because if she gets caught, obviously she won’t be welcome in tigerclan, but also bramblestar probs won’t be very happy with her so… idk it might be fun (and sad) to play with her being a kind of identity-less clan cat for awhile, but that’d be way in the future.

delia is super “thanks, i hate it”, because obviously nobody’s gonna be happy about this situation when they have a) a coven to lead, and b) a fucking WORLD to save, let alone someone who takes her responsibilities as seriously as cordelia does. but for now she has enough to keep her grounded and moving forward, ie some witches being on denny who she feels a responsibility to take care of, the academy itself, keeping an eye on michael… and so on. i think it’d be interesting on denny to also see her get a little bit of a life outside of everything she rigidly defines herself with. so far she’s kind of building a friendship with eddie/venom that might lead to some stuff related to that, but we’ll see what happens and how she reacts

and irina, when i claim her… is just gonna get right down to business and start establishing criminal ties and her power structure again, because honestly, it’s really hard to phase irina. i’ve been considering some plot ideas in the distant future like having her get roped into some kind of group or organization who wants to use her skills (possibly in a context where she’d want to ultimately betray them because, she’s good at that) or maybe bringing some rambaldi artifacts or something that could be a plot related to those onto denny but. well it’s hard to say. she’s gonna keep busy. and she’s not super used to… i mean she never really imagined a scenario where she’d be able to safely be able to keep in touch with her family anyway, so being alone is not really something she’s unused to, but she still might be lowkey pissed on principle. and irina when she’s not particularly attached to anyone or anything is irina at her most dangerous, so… we’ll see what happens
