#I've liked books of all the genres though I definitely have my preferences

Do you have any gothic novels that you can recommend off the top of your head? Especially to people who want to try their hand at the genre? I've hit a wall in my project and I need to get some fresh inspiration, but I don't know where to start and the book side of tumblr failed me the last time I tried asking them for recs
Hell yeah! I made some old posts for this a while back, but it's good to look at it again with my more recent taste! Let's see...
Classic Gothics
Dracula: The one, the only. Often imitated, never equalled.
Frankenstein: Short, sad and world changing! Can get a little slow at parts, but definitely worth it. (True story, my parents read this to me as a fetus to calm my kicking, so it's part of my personal mythology!)
The Case of Charles Dexter Ward: The most gothic of Lovecraft's work, and possibly my favorite. Novella length, usually found in collections.
The Picture of Dorian Gray: Sinister, sexy, philosophical, with a main character I want to punch in the face!
Carmilla: Another novella, about as lush and swooning as vampire stories get.
The Hound of the Baskervilles: A very readable gothic mystery.
Confessions of a Justified Sinner: This one isn't as action packed, but if you have big religious issues like me, it's incredibly haunting.
The Monk: Like the above, but sleazier and crazier!
Northanger Abbey: A gentle parody of early gothics, starring an adorable proto-goth girl.
The Italian: I'll be honest, I find Anne Radcliffe kind of a slog, but if you liked Northanger Abbey and want to read what Catherine Morland reads, this is probably the most accessible.
A Long Fatal Love Chase: This starts as campy and then takes a plunge into gut-wrenchingly intense. The book Jo March was always trying to write!
The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: Another novella, and Stevenson is one of the best writers out there for excitement!
The Werewolf of Paris: Gothic monster as serial killer, still scary today.
Rebecca: The foundation of all gothic romance to come afterwards. A ghost story without a ghost, with an ending that's still debated as happy or sad!
Jane Eyre: The other foundation of all gothic romance to come afterwards. I bounced off the child abuse-heavy beginning a few times, but I'm very glad I finally read to the good stuff!
The Castle of Otranto: Considered the first gothic novel, a goofy b-movie in written form.
Modern-ish Gothics (post-1950 or so)
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein: Fuck the haters, I love this book.
Mexican Gothic: Genuinely scary, genuinely romantic, genuinely creative. A favorite.
Blackwater: A southern gothic saga of a family in a flooded town, whose scion marries a woman who isn't quite human. A whirlwind ride!
A Bloodsmoor Romance: Another family saga, this one northern gothic, with sisters whose lives all go off the rails in different supernatural ways. Give this a try before writing Joyce Carol Oates off entirely!
The Silver Devil: A nasty, problematic bodice ripper where you'll cheer for the heroine to bring the hero down low!
Interview with the Vampire: To be honest again, I'm not super into Anne Rice, but this is a page-turner, and every vampire book that has come after it has had to respond to it in one way or another. Read the next two Vampire Chronicles books if you like it!
A Taste of Blood Wine: My own preferred sexy vampire romance!
The Bloody Chamber: The ultimate dark sexy fairy tale work, accept no substitutes.
Haunted Castles: Contains the brilliant novella Sardonicus, as well as some other campy gothic stories!
A Great and Terrible Beauty: Many millennials were introduced to the gothic genre via this, Fear Street Sagas, or A Series of Unfortunate Events. This is my favorite of the three, though the sequels are a bit of a letdown.
Gormenghast: This series is a throwback to the pseudo-medieval, Otranto-style gothic, but much better. Don't read Titus Alone.

Dunno if you're only interested in thinking about ISAT related sillies, but I've been thinking of Siffrin's love of plays and poetry mixed with my love of musicals! It's got a script and there's stage settings so people walk the same paths and say the same things every time, but it's still performance art! There's still a magic in every moment and potential for new meaning and change- and that's before you think of how the people times and places also inherently shape things. Do you have any thoughts about what the ISAT party + newly adopted Nille feel/think about traditional plays?
Mirabelle enjoys them as much as any other sort of media, I think! She's more concerned with genre and character than format. It's too bad you can't easily re-experience a play like you can a book, but! That just makes it all the more special to see one! She took an acting class once, and even though she was only a minor background character, being on stage made her so nervous that she messed up her only line. But! That just makes it all the more impressive how brave and talented professional actors are!!
Isabeau loves them as a visual medium. The costumes! The set! The blocking! In the past he would've just said the play was pretty, but these days he will come out of the theater gushing about the visual symbolism. Mira's like "What did you think of the plot though?" and he's like "Oh, the plot? Yeah it was great, it was really clever how they foreshadowed the fall of the prince by tearing his cloak directly through the royal insignia in act one, especially because the blow would have killed him if his servant hadn't intervened; it's just like how holding onto the throne would have led to his death, meaning his servant saved him once again by removing him from power!"
Odile's fine with them. She prefers the private experience of a book, but going out and doing something with friends is a different kind of nice! It's fun to tease everyone about their reactions afterwards. And if she cried at one too once no she didn't. :|
Bonnie likes the action! A story you can watch! Except sometimes Siffrin picks boring ones that are mostly people standing around and talking to themselves and Bonnie isn't even allowed to run around instead. So, hit or miss for them. Every couple of years the kids in Bambouche put on a play, and last time Bonnie got to be a pirate, and it was awesome even though they had to be so careful to not actually whack the other kid with their sword.
Nille likes them a lot! Plays are maybe her favorite way to be told a story; it's so direct and clear and multi-sensational, you really get to immerse yourself in it. She often does gestures and voices while telling stories herself, it just makes it easier to follow! She was so proud of Bonnie when they got to be a pirate and only actually whacked the other kid with their sword for real during practice a couple times.
Siffrin loved the escapism. Stories are so grand, and everything that happens in them is so meaningful. A play ends the same way each time you watch it, yet you're still on the edge of your seat, swept up in the world the actors have conjured! Plus, seeing a play was the best way to kill an evening, sitting somewhere safe and comfortable while getting a little more familiar with the local language and culture. They liked experiencing unique small plays! They liked seeing how a world-famous play would get translated and adapted for different countries! They liked attending the same production three nights in a row and seeing if they could catch any little differences!
Post-canon... He's definitely not going to watch the same one three nights in a row. And not any that he has basically memorized, either. And maybe not the entire thing yet, maybe he has to leave closer to the beginning than the intermission a couple times. But!! Siffrin loves plays, he remembers that about himself, and even after everything, he can't help but love the familiar. So. He's working towards being able to be himself again.
Loop would rather get crushed by the king again than step foot in a theatre~!
#in a modern au many of their opinions would be very different#but plays is basically tvs to people who live in ambiguous fantasy time periods right?#isat#the whole family#thoughts about the whole family#ask meme answers#isat spoilers#thoughts about siffrin#thoughts about mirabelle#thoughts about isabeau#thoughts about odile#thoughts about bonnie#thoughts about nille#thoughts about loop

It will be chaotic, because I can't force myself to make a structured post about it, I don't know why. Also sorry if my autocorrect does something stupid, I'm writing on the phone.
So, the Legendarium and causality, and good deeds, bad deeds and their results. This is the main topic of this post.
Is this post about the Legendarium? About real life? Both? Well, it surely is about the Legendarium, but not only. It's fuzzy. One of the things I like with tolkien is that such discussions get fuzzy and thinking about the books gives me insights about life.
There is a rule which I try to follow when writing or even planning something more serious (in the Legendarium context, but in general too, unless specifically going for a genre that's different): if a long-term success (in something that matters) is achieved by doing something morally wrong, those conditions must be fulfilled (not necessarily all clearly written out, but I must at least have a vague idea):
1. It could have been achieved in a good way, and it wouldn't be lesser. Or it wasn't really that important. (Because I refuse to accept "necessary evil")
2. Either something bad came out of it, or someone has to put effort into it not happening. I'm not sure how to explain it better (see later about handling other people's bad choices)... Anyway this makes the story feel more satisfying, more interesting.
3. How much of 2 is needed is proportional to how bad the thing was. Also if the character couldn't be expected to know much better, point 2 is less intense, though it's often still more interesting to have it.
I wonder how close to canon is this rule. Anyway I like it. Also, I tend to assume at least 1 when interpreting the canon, which likely influences my opinion about the Feanorians and the whole Silmaril business.
I'm not saying this is a 100% rule in real life, or even a technically 100% rule in te Legendarium, because omniscience is tricky… but it is a good rule in writing, I think, and even more so it definitely is a good rule in approaching decisions. If something can't work in a moral way, it won't work anyway or is not worth it. Nothing really worthy can be permanently lost by making the right choice. And so on.
It seems like there would be a symmetrical rule of good deeds not resulting in bad events but then we have the Children of Hurin. And what did Hurin do wrong? I have no idea.
But then, the Men are generally... And you could also look at Maedhros, but then, the exiled Noldor, and SoF in particular are also, hmm, I think "marred" is the word I should use here.
Still, I really prefer if there is something good coming of from good deeds, even distant and not seen by the person doing the good deeds.
Also, there seems to be is another rule, it's outright said. Things always turn out into a good ending, and you can either go with it or fall under it.
Example: gollum. He could have cooperated and jumped with the Ring willingly. He chose to betray Frodo, fell with the Ring anyway.
You also can, obviously, do a creative mix of going along and falling under. (Must I say: the two oldest Feanorians, it is this obvious?)
And falling under makes things more difficult for everyone, not just the person doing it.
Darn, I made this sound ugly and tyrannical. It's not. But I remember when I would say it is, and I can't explain why it is not. It's kinda like when you do a weird thing with your eye muscles and start seeing double. It's just not. I just can't explain it in a way this deserves. My apologies.
Anyway, bad choices make things difficult for everyone. Because we are connected to each other. I've already made a post about it long time ago, but generally...
Maybe if Saruman wasn't such a jerk weed have a Sauron redemption. (Maybe, it's always a maybe)
Maybe if Maglor didn't take pity on the twins, Númenor would fall much earlier and Sauron would be more successful. And so on and do forth.
It's always a maybe, and nobody determines anybody else's choices, but still, we do impact each other. It's hard to think about, because it's over if the places where a) it's worth to try b) there's no guarantee of anything... (Which are most places, I guess). Both on the Silm and in life, people are interconnected. But also everyone is responsible for their decisions.
It's hard to not blame characters (or people) too much. It's hard... In general it's wonderful but difficult, the whole concept.
And another thing tired to this very closely, tied to the interconnectedness (is this a word?) is unearned suffering and Hurin and Nienor and Miriel (both tbh) and Feanor back before he was a jerk and many others.
Sometimes we get the outcome of someone else's bs without even consenting to it. Why? I suppose it's because the connectedness is now important than "not getting random bs thrown in your life". Maybe. Probably. I'm not wise, ok? I'm not sure it's my heart, but something's telling me it's something like this reason.
And what can we do
Argue. Rebel. Just take it. There are many things we can do. I'm not going to go on a rant about what Feanor (or Finwe) should have done and so on because I don't want dfw and others to have a bad time listening to me criticizing their guy, and also I wasn't in his position so I shouldn't be ranting. I should go rant at myself or something.
But the things aren't going to solve themselves or disappear. So yes, just taking it is a very noble and beautiful thing to do (and hard as... Idk what's hard. A Silmaril is hard, I guess)
Because it's so very infuriating when someone else's bs lands on your head.
Oh how I wish I could handle it better.
Back to the Legendarium. Someone handling it better generally yields results, see: the Long Peace. And probably many other situations.
And of course there are situations when the bs you have to handle is your own and if you don't handle it, it will fall of everyone else's heads. This doesn't necessarily make it easier to handle. :( Sometimes someone helps, and that's nice.
Yet another question is how realistic a book should be.
Should it portray lots of undeserved suffering, of badly handled undeserved suffering (CoH), because it's part of life? Should it portray hope triumphing against reason (B&L, and remember that Beren was just as much a Man as Turin was), to give people an escape?
I think (maybe it's rather obvious) that we need both, because depending on personality and circumstances, we need both validation and acknowledgement of our pain, and hope that things can be better. Both kinds of stories are necessary.
It may sound untrue, and sometimes I wish I was a kind of person who can live with only hopeful stories, because the day ones are what I need when I'm not doing well— but no. We do need both, at least in terms of "what most of the story consists of". We need ways to express pain without an immediate answer.
It's a sad song.
But we're gonna sing it anyway.
Until we finally get it right and the sad parts start making sense.
And let's not even get into "sad stories where people mess their lives up so much because that's how freedom works, yes, they can do that" because I have absolutely no idea what to say about those.
#silm#silmarillion#tolkien legendarium#the silm#the silmarillion#Tolkien meta#idk how to tag moral philosophy? writing?#rambling#children of hurin#the problem of evil#kind of#many problems#really i have no idea what to tag on this#surprisingly no direct mention of morgoth#which is a rare situation among my posts 🤣#but obviously the whole context#arda marred#and things like that

Hello!! I saw that you're temporarily open for matchup requests so I hope that I'm not too late with this! :) specifically from LOTR please~
I'm female, 5'7", Virgo, ISFP, with stronger preference for males. I have pale skin with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. My wardrobe mostly consists of darker colors, my favorite combos being black with red or pink.
I consider myself empathetic and honest. I am reserved most of the time, only ever talking if someone else initiates the convo, though I can go on and on about my hyperfixations and interests. Like even when I'm with a group of friends, I'd stay quiet most of the time and just listen so I may come across as a bit socially awkward. I've been told I'm a good listener and so I end up being someone many confide in or as someone who becomes stuck in the middle of a conflict. I am a night owl and get easily exhausted or even irritated when I'm out and it's crowded so I definitely need time and space on my own to recharge after a long day. I suppose among love languages, I lean to using words of affirmation. When I do have enough energy, I also like to cook and bake for my family and friends (and get upset if it doesn't end up turning right).
I really like animals, especially big cats, dogs and wolves. My favorite genre of fiction is horror so sharing scary/ghost stories would be my favorite group activity. My sense of humor tends of be on the dry, sarcastic side. My preferred methods of workout are swimming, badminton, and walking. When I get bored, I tend to doodle and hum. I don't consider myself a good singer and I'd only get the confidence to sing in front of others if I was a bit tipsy (I don't drink much, I am so lightweight it's not even funny and if I do, I stick with cocktail or beer).
In video games that involve combat and exploration, I tend to rely on speed and stealth (my footfalls are actually quiet irl too). Among weapons, I prefer using swords (dual wielding, if available), though having a bit of magic would be fun to use too (especially if you can set things on fire) :3
congrats on the 300 followers!
You are not at all! Thank you for waiting between my recovery buffer posts & older matchups! So here we go now love! Your match is…
Legolas!
Some people joke what a funny couple you are due to you both seeming so quiet, but in truth you are drawn to each other’s peace. Legolas is drawn to your gentle presence, the light falls of your steps upon the bank of the river where he meets you, water flowing at your feet. You are not the only one swimming that day, but you cut such a majestic figure as you move gracefully through the water, emerging with illuminated droplets descending from your dark hair. Since that very first moment you stuck in Legolas's heart.
He loves the way you hum as you work, dark skirts swirling about the floor as you swish through the kitchen. A smile plays on his lips as he compliments the work you've let out to cool and you drily tease him about stealing it. Instead, he offers to help hand it out and you are grateful to save your energy. Normally you do not prefer company in the kitchen, but this elf's presence is calming rather than draining. Your motions and his assume a rhythm unbroken by distraction.
He runs into you out in town, smiling at the large dog following at your heels while you carry your basket. You look content as you go to market, purchasing all you need. Catching the way your hand runs wistfully over a small ornately bound book, he finds his feet carrying him to market as well, his hands delving into pockets and being rewarded with the weight of a tiny tome. The following day's trip to your kitchen is met not with wry humor, but wide smiles and sheepish revelations of art. "You may think them the smallest of sketches, but to me I see a connection to this world." "Is that your way of saying you can't draw?" Yet another smile you've drawn from the elven prince. "You've caught me there."
When orcs attack your village, his first thought is to get to you, your hearth and your dog and all your little captures of your surroundings, and let any who dare trifle with it know it has a blade and a bow behind it. Boots thudding lightly as always against dirt, then stone, he arrives outside your home to see you there, a glinting sword swinging in each hand. Grinning, he shakes his head. He should have known. Shooting one of your twin assailants off you, he joins the fray. "Sorry I'm late." "You should be!" You grin back at him. "This party started an hour ago."
This visit has only a few days left. Ignoring that, you climb higher into the tree before you settle, pulling the red-and-black swirled book from your small satchel. Legolas sits in the crook of the tree right below yours. "Shall I read or would you prefer to?" It's as if he can sense your energy, see right through your facade to the highs and lows of your heart. The book in question held some of your favorite ghost stories, old legends and more local frights alike. You joke about the prince being able to handle it, but in the end you know whose voice you would prefer to ring out with it that day.
You are the only one Legolas trusts to saddle up his horse, hand him the bags he'd surreptitiously caught you slipping a copy of your book of horrors into as a memento. He says your name softly as a wish when you stand at his mount's side, catching your nod before he captures your lips with his, motions slow, deliberate as if he would wake up from the dream at any moment. Your name is even more delicious whispered after a kiss. "Wait for me." "Who else would I even look twice at?"

hi !!! so i know you've read classics and i have a few questions for you. lmk if i'm being annoying btw
uh first i was wondering what classics i own that you've read and your thoughts on them (i've been accumulating a collection for a while but haven't read them)
little women
great expectations
the picture of dorian gray
alice in wonderland
frankenstein
emma
pride and prejudice
great expectations
the secret history
the great gatsby
i was also wondering your favourite subgenres of classical books? i've been specifically interested in the russian classic subgenre
um where you would recommend me to start? out of the books i have preferably
and just any other general tips for reading would be helpful yeah
(i'm finally getting back into it after four years and i'm kinda lost idk)
NO YOURE NOT ANNOYING !! i saw your video on tiktok and was like shxbsjd i want to talk abt your books with you so bad but i didnt want to be annoying 😭
sigh im such a nerd
ok sooo lets get into it :D
get ready for alot of text
the books ive read will be in blue (purple is i'm going to read them soon)
• little women -> i loved ittt. i have yet to read the other books in the series though (theres little women, good wives, little men, jo's boys). the movie (by greta gerwig) is one of my favourite movies ever so i have an attachment to the story. i recommend watching the movie first if you haven't already bc i honestly preferred it more, but the book is also incredible and sweet and the writing is great and it made me cry and learn to be a better person
• great expectations
• the picture of dorian gray -> ooh this one was one of my first ever classics, i think after children's classics and the catcher in the rye. i loved it alot. the descriptions are so beautiful and the premise is so interesting and agsbj i'm just so obsessed with the way oscar wilde writes !! actually i've heard people say that this is a good place to start for classics, but i'm not really so sure about that. i think this definitely is a staple in classic literature, but i recommend saving this as your 2nd or 3rd classic read so you're more used to the eloquent writing style of classics and you can fully appreciate the picture of dorian gray in all its glory :)
•alice in wonderland -> oh i loved this sm. i love alice in wonderland in general, more specifically the tim burton version. i think this is a good place to start, since i know you like alice in wonderland so you're already attached to the story and therefore will most likely enjoy it alot. the sarcasm and wit in this book is really enjoyable and fun, i finished this one really fast back in primary school :)
• frankenstein -> i finished this recently ! it's so great, i love frankenstein so much. though, it did seem like nothing much was happening so just beware that even tho its labelled as horror, it's more... thoughtful? it's really nothing like frankenstein in popular media, though i think that's part of its charn actually
• emma -> i've read 2 chapters of this. i'm planning on actually sitting down and finishing this next week or so! i recommend the movie with anya taylor joy if you're hesitant about reading it, bc the movie was really good :)
• pride and prejudice -> if you want to get into jane austen, this is probably the place to start. she's a really amazing writer and the way she creates characters and character relationships is so amazing i was really impressed by this book ! tho i gotta say i dont feel any particular attachment to it and im not exactly in a hurry to pick up her other books. like her writing is really good but im just not really into high society and period romance drama. i still recommend this though since it is a good classic and a staple to the genre.
• the secret history -> ooh this one isnt exactly a classic but definitely does deserve to be. I LOVE THE SECRET HISTORY SO SO MUCHHHH. i've reread this book like nearly 3 times. donna tartt's writing is so phenomenal and the characters are all so interesting, i can't wait for you to read this! though, one con is that it is reallyyy long and ik that its not uncommon for people to get sick of how the story drags on :( so i recommend making sure that you're fully hyped to read this cus i'd hate for you to drop it half way since its so brilliant i promise. pay attention to the way she writes scenes and characters and just anything ever because its just so well doneee.
• the great gatsby -> i have this and i'm thinking of reading it next actually !! im just letting myself process frankenstein and go back to read the frankenstein introduction before moving onto this :) i've heard that it's grand and gives old money but thats all i can say
ok looks like thats all !
i recommend starting with alice in wonderland and then going to the picture of dorian gray or pride and prejudice :)
ah also my favourite subgenre in classic literature is horror (they tend to not be scary at all and more thoughtsy) or japanese (osamu dazai is all ive read but im really interested in reading more japanese authors)
russian literature is also cool, though ive only read crime and punishment by dostoyevsky. i really want to read notes from underground or white nights or dead souls by nikolai gogol next agsbdj
if you're looking to get into it then probably white nights is the best since many people say its the best and also its really short compared to c&p. im not an expert tho so honestly you do you
also if you enjoy frankenstein and the picture of dorian gray then i REALLY reccomend the case of dr jelyll and mr hyde because its so short but sooo good
as for reading tips, i reccomend taking breaks and not pushing yourself cus then you'll find the experience tedious. also dont be intimidated because reading classics is like reading any other book except the writing style is super eloquent. read whatever subgenre of classic you enjoy and dont force yourself to read others if you arent interested :)
THATS ALL FROM ME. tysmmmm for the ask i had so much fun answering this
sorry for yapping so much i cant help it when it comes to books so your fault for asking 😔 /lh
i hope you have fun and feel free to slide into my askbox if you have thoughts to share or anything else to askk
oh wait actually im curious, whats your experience with classics so far? what books have you read? did you enjoy them?

Writblr Interview
Short stories, novels, or poems?
Oh, definitely novels. Even my short stories are pretty long lol
What genre do you prefer reading?
Fantasy, sci-fi, anything fun :)
What genre do you prefer writing?
Definitely fantasy with some heavy steampunk flavor
Are you a planner or a write-as-I-go kind of person?
I'll usually plot out a vague plan for each chapter, but no further than that. Short stories, I pretty much just wing it on.
What music do you listen to while writing?
It's gotta be instrumental or I can't pay attention. I tend towards a mix of video game music, classical, and jazz. Each of my characters has their own spotify playlist linked in my pinned post, so if you're looking for 6 to 8 hours of instrumental music, be my guest :)
Fave books/movies?
Favorite books are anything by Sanderson, the Foundryside Trilogy, and the Kingkiller Chronicles. My favorite movies are the lotr trilogy.
Any current WIPs?
My rotating roster is Honor's Outcasts and The Mystery of the Mortal God. The Final Voyage of the R.S Starbreaker is one I keep on backburner, and I'm currently working on an untitled short story.
If someone were to make a cartoon out of you, what would your standard outfit be?
Probably my work clothes ngl. A fishing shirt tucked into cargo pants, tucked into mud boots with a sun hat and mosquito net. My hair is in pigtails and I'm covered in bug spray. I probably smell musty as hell.
Create a character description for yourself
A tall young woman with a fuckass blonde bob, probably a checked-out expression on her face, and really awful tan lines. She's always wearing a necklace and usually some painted boots. The aesthetics are somewhere between punk and rustic.
Do you like incorporating people you actually know into your writing?
Nah, it's never appealed to me
Are you kill-happy with characters?
Not really, but I've been known to make exceptions
Coffee or tea while writing?
Girl, water. I need hydration lol
Slow or fast writer?
I'm not sure what the metric is exactly, but I'd say decently fast, though it depends on how my life is going also.
Where/who/what do you find inspiration from?
My own brain, books and shows I like, dreams, all sort of places
If you were put into a fantasy world, what would you be?
Probably some sort of alchemist who lives in a basement and eats toads
Most fave book cliche?
Thwarted prophecies. I love it when something goes wrong in a way that's correct to the letter. This is a little ironic, as if never written a prophecy once.
Least fave book cliche?
When characters are overly whiny, but especially when they whine about cool stuff. Like, sorry your shape-shifting abilities are making you question your humanity, but rip to you, I'm different. The only exception to this dislike is if they're whiny in a funny way. Anything is forgivable in literature if it's entertaining.
Fave scenes to write?
Probably those high tension fight scenes or anything with emotional stakes that isn't just a ton of dialog
Most productive time of day for writing?
I'd say early afternoon, but I have more free time to write at night
Reason for writing?
These characters are my friends. Giving up would be abandoning them. Also, I legitimately enjoy reading my own writing.
I'll tag @thecomfywriter @albatris @sm-writes-chaos and anyone else who wants to play :)

1. Do you get along with animals?
I've grown up with pets; so yes, I do get along with animals very well and I want to smooch all of them. Cats especially need to stay alert, because they're likely to become victims of non consensual-kisses.
2. Do you like to read comic books or manga?
I don't remember the last time I've read a western comic book. I remember I used to read Mickey Mouse as a kid (if that counts?), but the weebification process gradually took over, so definitely manga. ^^ ( However in this latest period I think that I'm showing more interest towards visual novels, and maybe I need to thank Hakuoki for that).
3. Do you consider yourself a people person?
A people person...Let's see: I of course enjoy spending time with friends and/or people I vibe with; but I'm actually pretty introverted so I don't think I can really consider myself a people person.
4. Name 3 things to do for fun
Just three? I'll name the first three things that occur to me: traveling, playing board games (chess, checkers or even RPGs like Dungeon and dragons, though I've never played the latter) and lastly: jogging or cycling along the promenade (not only it can be fun, physical exercise is literally medicine for the body).
5. What's your favorite colour?
Ooh I like this question because the average person usually answers ''green/blue/yellow/pink'' etc. and then they ask me and I'm like: ''black, beige, brown and all the dark hues that can come to your mind; I have a hard time choosing among all these beautiful colors''.XD Needless to say that nobody is surprised when I say this because It's already pretty obvious by the way I usually dress. I sometimes wonder where my chromatic taste stems: either I haven't fully gotten over my depressed-gothic teen phase or I just always had a dark soul. XDDD.
If I had to choose among non-depressed colors, I'd say blue. I especially like to wear it in summer
6. What type of movies do you like to watch?
I don't have a specific genre so a bit of everything. I however sometimes enjoy watching old italian movies that nobody gives a damn about anymore (Understandably, the pace was veeeery slow), especially the ones with Marcello Mastroianni.
Back when Italy was still able to make decent movies *sigh*.
7. What do you prefer, boxing, MMA or neither?
Neither.
8. Do you have a favorite book?
Il libro di Draco Daatson (Salvatore Brizzi).
9. Have you experienced something supernatural?
O_O No. And if I ever will I hope it will not be a scary experience. if it is, I at least want to experience it with someone so I can hide behind them, I don't want to soil my pants T_T.
10. Name 3 of your cherised songs that u identify with that could also describe you
I don't necessarily identify with every single one of these three but here you go:

thank you @nuriakendo for the tag (even though I'm very late. I know. Sorry ^^).

Welcome! 🤍
Blog's Theme Song - Falling Behind - Laufey
"Hi!!! I see you've wandered into my little corner so allow me to introduce myself while I pour you a cup of tea! I'm AriTsukemo, but most guests tend to refer to me as simply Ari! I like to write fics and read for fun!"
"I built this place with the intent of getting better at writing and brodening my anime horizen! That being said, I've already tackled quite a bit of animes! As for what my favorites are, I'd say.."
Demon Slayer | The Case Study of Vanitas | Toilet Bound Hanako Kun | Blue Lock | Yona of the Dawn | Black Butler | Windbreaker | Tokyo Revengers | Link Click
"Hm? What about games? Well, I don't play much games that I'd typically want to write about, but since you asked.."
Genshin Impact | Omori | Danganronpa | Sally Face
"If you want to know about some of the other animes and games I may have watched/played, I don't mind sitting here and telling you about them! I can make myself comfortable and— Hm? You don't have the time right now? Oh.. Alright then.."
"You want to know about the rules of this place? Well, I don't really have anything big.. I'm not really one to be so..strict, y'know? My only rule, per se is.."
Please don't be rude to the other guests here! You can be impolite towards me all you want, but I will not tolerate such behavior towards anyone else!
"As for anything else you might want a heads up about.."
I love giving people nicknames and recieving them in turn. My favorite's to call people are "Dearest", "Love", "Sweetheart", and things like that! As for recieving..well, I don't really have any preference. Feel free to call me anything!
I'm currently taking requests! If you like my works or simply like what I write for and want to request something, you should first take a glance at my rules regarding requests!
I'm always looking for a friend to yap about fics and animes with! Though, do be warned that I am a bit awkward when it comes to new friendships so bear with me..
All blank blogs will be blocked without question!
I have an obsession with using emojis/emoticons so I apologize if that upsets you! 🤍
"Do I run any other places like this? Well, yeah!"
As some may already know, I have a Wattpad Account! If you like Genshin Impact, Demon Slayer, or Omori, I definitely suggest clicking the link and checking my books out! 👀✨
"You..want to now more about me? You- You serious? Uh- Uhm, there's nothing really interesting about me, but since you asked.."
After years of self-discussions, I've come to the realization that I pretty much have no preferences when it comes to love! I mean, there's so much to fear in this world, why would I choose to be scared of liking someone that may not fit society's norm, y'know?
I'm used to She/Her pronouns as I was born a female, but many tend to refer to me using They/Them pronouns online. I don't really care what you call me to be honest.
I've accumulated a plethora of favorite anime characters over the years, but I'd say my top favorites overall are Mitsuri Kanroji, Muichiro and Yuichiro Tokito, Shinobu Kocho, Ciel Phantomhive, Mitsuki Kiryu, Suo Hayato, and Chifuyu Matsuno!
My birthday is July 15th which, I'm pretty sure, makes me a Cancer. I don't know, I'm not really a big horoscopes person..
My music taste is the perfect embodiment of me; all over the place. From Hip-Hop to Pop to Indie, I don't really have a designated fav genre. Artist however.. Well, I'd say my all time favorite at the moment is Billie Eilish! While some runner ups would be Sabrina Carpenter, Alec Benjamin, Laufey, Chase Atlantic, and Melanie Martinez!
"Hm? You want to sit and chat after all? Hehe~! Fine by me! Let's— Ah, it seems you ran out of tea.. I'd have to boil some more for you.. Hm..how about you grab something to read from one of the sections I showed you earlier while I go and make some more tea? Alright, I'll be back in a little bit!"
Dividers were made by me, pictures used are from Pinterest, post formatting is inspired by @xxsabitoxx and @romaritimeharbor

Snape Asks
Do you have a snOTP? What is it?
Sure, Snape x [First name] (specifically my OC) haha
2. What do you think is Snape's favourite colour and why?
Black? Like...obviously. You think he'd wear so much of it if he didn't genuinely like it?
3. Which Disney character, according to you is most like Snape?
Scar. I don't think there's another answer.
4. Do you think Snape remained a virgin?
I hate this question. Absolutely NOT. The dude was guilty about his best friend's death, it doesn't mean he never had sex. The only way he would have is if he were fully asexual (which, to be fair, seems possible).
5. Do you think Snape ever loved anyone other than Lily, romantically or platonically?
Romantically, no. Platonically, I think he loved Dumbledore and Draco.
6. If Snape learnt another language, which would he choose?
Latin, doy.
7. Which staff member do you think gets along well with Snape?
Dumbledore. I don't think he and McGonagall were friends, despite the fluffy popular head canons. Mutual respect, sure, but not friendship. Otherwise, I don't see him hanging out with any other staff.
8. If you had to assign Snape to a house, which one would it be?
Slytherin. No question. Dude was immensely ambitious.
9. What are your personal headcanons on Snape's diet and favourite foods?
I think eating was a chore for him. He probably had one favorite meal at any given time and it was all he wanted to eat. It'd change monthly. Sometimes he'd have a bread-and-cheese month, sometimes he'd have an eggs-and-bacon month. Otherwise he'd forget to eat.
10. Do you think Snape's character has changed the way you think/feel about others?
Yeah, I mean I hate James Potter. That's more because of the Marauders stans though. What a toxic community.
11. Your favourite scenes with book/movie!Snape?
Literally every book Snape scene.
12. If you had to chose a Golden trio era student to be Snape's friend, who would it be and why?
Luna.
13. Do you think Alan Rickman contributed to your love for Snape?
Yeah, but I loved book Snape first.
14. What do you think is Snape's favourite potion to prepare?
Probably changes based on the month. Whatever's fascinating him at the moment. Something complicated and finnicky, definitely.
15. If Snape had any free time, how do you think he would spend it?
Reading, drinking wine, doing up his buttons, smoking.
16. Were you ever a Snater? How and when did you become a Snover?
God no. I have taste.
17. Do you think Snape was unhappy even after joining the DEs?
Yes, definitely. I don't think it ever gave him what he was looking for.
18. Your favourite physical feature of Snape?
Eyes.
19. According to you, what is Snape's biggest flaw?
Being a dick for absolutely no reason. Lack of chill.
20. Why do you love Snape so much?
He's powerful and brilliant and misunderstood. He's also a weird sexy feral emo boy. He's also a professor and like...sheesh.
21. What particular memory do you think Snape used to conjure his patronus?
Something with Lily obviously. Could be anything. The day they met, hanging out by the Black Lake, laughing in class. It probably changes.
22. Do you think Lily was a good friend to Severus?
Not really. Maybe when they were kids, but once she started hating his friends, there's a real sense that she thought she was too cool for him.
23. What do you think Snape wore under his robes?
Dude what? Trousers.
24. Do you think Snape ever self-harmed?
I don't think he'd see the point.
25. Is there any other character you love as much as Snape? Do you think they'll get along?
Yeah. And no, they absolutely would not get along.
26. What genre do you think Snape preferred to read?
Crime, thrillers, non-fiction, historical fiction, maybe some horror
27. Do you think Snape was close to his mother?
No. I think he was disappointed by her. But he loved her more than he loved his dad.
28. Do you think you'd like being taught by Snape?
Only if we were fucking. Otherwise, from what I've seen he seems like a pretty lazy and demanding teacher.
29. How do you headcanon Snape's bedroom would look like?
Queen bed with dark sheets, a few bookcases, a desk and reading chair.
30. If you could give young Snape any advice, what would it be?
You're better than your origins. James Potter sucks--rise above it. And don't listen to the fucking Death Eaters man, come on. Dark Arts aren't the only magical mysteries left.
31. Do you think Snape had any mental illnesses? Which ones and why?
Yeah, dude. If the guy wasn't depressed I will eat my fucking hat. He was probably anxious as hell too. Maybe on the spectrum.
32. If you could change Snape's middle name to be something other than Tobias what would you choose?
Do people have opinions on this?
33. Top 3 songs you think will show up in Snape's most played?
There Is a Light That Never Goes Out - The Smiths
The Killing Moon - Echo & the Bunnymen
Bela Lugosi's Dead - Bauhaus
34. Do you have any Snape NOTPs?
I hate Snape x any of the Potters. Lily, James and Harry need to back off. Haven't they put him through enough?
35. Snapey BROTPs?
No, I want my man lonely and annoyed.
36. Did Snape get sick often? Your headcanons for when he was sick?
I don't think OFTEN. He'd definitely refuse to go to the hospital wing and brew his own cures. Probably worked when he was sick too. Stubborn ass.
37. Snape didn't pay attention to his physical appearance, but if you had to choose a part he would take care of, which would it be?
I disagree, I think the dude knew how to dress. I also think he cleaned his nails.
38. Which type of weather does Snape prefer?
Gray and cool.
39. How do you think Snape spent his early childhood days?
Hiding from his dad, finding joy where he could.
40. Other than Lily, who do you think impacted Snape's life the most?
Dumbledore. I think Narcissa and Lucius did too. Probably some of his DE friends--Mulciber springs to mind.
41. Is there a side to Snape that he hasn't let anyone see? What do you headcanon this "secret personality" to be like?
I don't think he laughs in public often. I think you'd have to be really close to see that.
42. Do you think Snape cried often?
As a kid and teenager, yes. I think at some point those tears dried up though.
43. What's your favourite headcanon about Snape?
He's actually a good professor and not as ugly as Harry seems to think.
44. Is there a movie/song/book that reminds you of Snape?
Tons of songs remind me of him. Sunburn by Muse will forever be the Broken Silence anthem.
45. What mode of magical travel would suit Snape the best?
God, anything but a fucking broom.
46. Your opinion on Snape's sexuality?
Realistically, somewhere on the demi spectrum. Possibly ace. In my head he's like a dom, bi-curious brat tamer though.
47. Which of the Marauders do you think Snape could have gotten along with?
If there was ever even a SHOT it would have been Lupin. The least awful of them.
48. How many points do you think Snape would've awarded during his career?
Sounds like he awarded a lot to Slytherins. Uncountable.
49. Did you feel Snape was the "good guy" even before the reveal?
Yep. I never lost faith.
50. Do you prefer tall!Snape or short!Snape?
Tall.
51. Had Snape lived, would he continue teaching at Hogwarts?
ARE YOU JOKING? ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT.

Hi, I'd love a Hazbin match up (no pressure though)! Characters I don't want would be Alastor, Niffty St Peter, Sir Pentious and Charlie or Vaggie (I'm sorry I know that's a lot 😭)
My pronouns are she/they and I'm pansexual. I have dyed black hair and several Piercings and tattoos and I'm planning on more. I'm very into goth fashion (and music).
I absolutely love horror. It's my favorite genre of anything but especially books and movies. My favorites are Scream and Trick r Treat. My favorite horror novel at the moment is I'm Thinking of Ending Things (probably more of a thriller but still). I absolutely love music (and singing). My favorite genres are gothic rock and metal and my favorite bands are Ice Nine Kills, Motionless in White and She Wants Revenge. Also, Halloween is my favorite holiday!
I'm a Scorpio and an infp so when I feel something I FEEL it. My emotions run high but I love very deeply and I'm very passionate about well...everything. I tend to be quiet until I know someone then I'll say the most out of pocket shit ever.
Additionally: I get seasonal depression in the summer, which sounds ridiculous but it happens. I'm just miserable when it's hot. Not sure why i felt the need to include this but I did. I also Kin Charlie and am a recently converted Val simp lmao. Also I'm sorry again for saying I don't want so many characters! I feel so bad 😭 I hope this is enough!
Hiya! Thanks for the request! After some consideration, I think I'd pair you with…
Adam!
I really do think you and Adam would make a good match!
Let me preface, Adam isn't goth himself. However, he's definitely very interested in goth fashion and music. He'd very likely pick out goth clothes for you that fit your vibe and make you look amazing, although he probably wouldn't admit to doing it just cause he likes you.
Adam is assuredly a big horror fan as well, although has a tendency to critique horror media if he thinks it's too cheesy or predictable. He'd very much love psychological horror.
When it comes to music, Adam does prefer hard rock. However, his next favourite genre is gothic rock. He plays guitar, so he'd totally play one of your favourite songs to get you to sing.
Adam isn't typically one to express emotions, but I feel like he'd really admire those who do. He definitely would appreciate your passion, as he's also very passionate about things he enjoys. Due to him saying out of pocket shit a lot, I don't think he'd be bothered by you doing it at all.
Thanks for requesting! I hope this is good enough for you :) (One of my best friends is goth too. I hope you don't mind me saying, but y'all in the goth community are honestly some of the sweetest people I've ever interacted with.)

do you think there are any book series' vyrm or the kids are interested in?
this is completely biased but maybe something like warrior cats with hallownest wildlife? sorry i have to include the silly cats in my brain
I'll be completely honest, I don't think I've read enough book series that I can still remember to properly answer this question. But I suppose I could talk about the family and book genres they'd enjoy?
Vyrm would struggle a bit with focusing on large plots, he's definitely more into more technical books. Anything about tinkering or engineering would be right up his alley and he would be completely lost in any well written book on that topic. That being said, I think it was my friend who had this idea, but I love the mental image of him picking up some romance books prior to hibernation, and after separating with WL. He never really thought about romance before (WL wasn't really the romantic type, and for the longest time he thought he was the same way), but once he started suspecting he might have feelings for Grimm, he gave romantic novels a try, to see if what he's experiencing matched their portrayals of love. Despite that, however, he didn't get the confidence to confess until after he woke up from hibernation. These days he doesn't read them, as I said, he's not actually a novel type of person, and he finds learning romance through his experiences with Grimm much more pleasant.
Grimm on the other hand loves sappy romance novels. It definitely hits right into his desire for intimacy and affection that he experienced for most of his life. He'd imagine himself in those romantic situations, though for many years the realization that he'd never find that life only made him feel worse afterwards. After meeting Vyrm, those thoughts finally had some merit, and he found comforf in picturing himself and Vyrm in such scenarios, as this time there was a chance he could finally get to live that life. Well, he got his wish at last, though he still finds enjoyment in the genre. But doesn't limit himself to it, he fancies all kinds of stories, he has a large collection of various books in his Troupe chamber that he collected during his travels.
Hornet really likes adventure books, I think she'd enjoy Lord of the Rings for example. Stories are an escape for her, she lived many years convinced that loving anyone would just bring her pain, but deep down she really wanted something more. And books let her immerse herself into experiences that were perhaps more hopeful than her life. Of course, she now has a family again, and despite her fear of attachment, that sense of escapism isn't as strong of a driving force for her anymore. She still absolutely loves books and has read through Grimm's entire collection at least twice. She tries to hide it, but she's always ecstatic whenever Grimm brings new books from his travels.
Holly enjoys slice of life type stories, they grew up wanting that type of peaceful life, though unfortunately they wouldn't get their wish for a long time. They prefer stories with low stakes, something they can read to find comfort and reassurance that things are going to be okay. Though I think they'd like poetry as well, particularly that of very personal kind - it's difficult for them to interpret, but they're always willing to learn, especially in areas that give them a better understanding of emotions and things others struggle with. They didn't get to develop good communication skills in their childhood, but they really want to be a proper part of the Dirtmouth community, and exploring such themes in fiction certainly helps.
Zote claims he's above reading, but deep down he loves literature about knights and heroes. He always pictures himself as the great hero that saves the day and gets all the fame and appreciation for his heroic actions. He does struggle with separating those fictional heroes from reality, and he'll often start quoting his favorite knight characters pretending to be them, much to the amusement of others. It certainly feeds into his conviction that he's a great knight, but as he tones down his arrogance throughout the span of the AU, it becomes more endearing than harmful.
Lewk can only read very simple books for children, but he loves whenever someone else reads for him. Vyrm and Grimm would always read him various stories to bed, those of heroes and villains, of family, and who knows, maybe also some kid-friendly equivalent of a Warrior Cats story like you mentioned. He particularly enjoys looking at the pictures in Vyrm's technical books, and asking him what those things are and how they work. He's incredibly curious about everything, and is definitely shaping up to be an avid reader like Hornet or Grimm.
Asta and Milo are way too young to read, and they don't fully comprehend things that are read to them either. They do understand some words, but mostly those they hear often - mainly things like "papa" which they hear from Lewk, that they repeat to get the attention of Grimm or FPK. They like when someone reads them to sleep, but it's mostly due to the comforting vibe created by their soft blankets and their dads' voices.

Monday, November 18th, 2024.
Do you currently have any medicine in your bag / purse / etc? If so, what kind? There are migraine meds in both my small bag and my backpack.
What do you like on your pasta / noodles? Sauce, butter, grated cheese, etc.? Can you believe I used to like my noodles plain? Like no sauce whatsoever? I don't even recognize my past self. Nowadays, I'm good with all kinds of different sauces/toppings.
Ultimately, do you believe nature controls man or that man controls nature? Explain. Humans are part of nature, so wouldn't it just be one facet of nature attempting to exert control over another?
Do you think it’s wrong to put yourself before others? In what sort of situations? No. You can't pour from an empty cup and blah blah blah. Take today, for instance. Ordinarily, I would be volunteering, but I decided to take…not exactly a mental health day (because I'm feeling fine enough on that front), but a day to relax and get into the holiday spirit. Listen to some traditional Christmas carols, drink some hot chocolate with whipped cream and sprinkles, watch some holiday YouTube videos, etc. It just feels like time is passing super quickly this year and if I don't take a purposeful moment to immerse myself, then I'm going to miss it. They're well-staffed and can handle a day without me, so...!
Do you know someone who is so charming, they could get away with anything, and then do? Alex. Management's previous golden child.
Have you ever known someone who seemed to have time for their significant other, but no one else? Have you ever acted this way? I don't think I've known anyone like that. I've probably acted that way in the past, though. It wasn't like I had no time for anyone else, but I could get pretty wrapped up in relationships.
In school, are / were you ever reluctant to ask questions? What about to answer questions? For what reasons? I was extremely reluctant to ask questions. I was only slightly less reluctant to answer them - even when I was pretty sure I had the right answer. I was just incredibly shy/easily embarrassed.
Are any of your friend’s, parent’s, or sibling’s name in a song you know? What song? No.
Have you ever read any novels by Agatha Christie? If so, which ones? Did you enjoy them? Do you generally enjoy mystery books? Maybe part of one? A long time ago? I don't remember the name of it. I wouldn't consider mystery to be one of my favorite genres, but it's alright.
Are most of your clothes baggy or tight? Which do you prefer? They're definitely more on the loose/baggy side. I'm not a big fan of form-fitting clothing.
Are you wary of displaying signs of affection for your significant other around adults? Why or why not? I probably would be. I might give them a hug or a quick peck on the cheek/lips, but nothing more than that.
Who was the last person you carpooled with? Where did you go? I have no idea.
Have you ever had red velvet cake or carrot cake? Have you ever made either of those? Yesss. Two of my favorite cakes. I should learn how to make my own carrot cake…gonna put that on my mental list of recipes to try.
Who is the most ungrateful person you know? What makes them this way? I don't know anyone who is especially ungrateful.
Are you good at guessing? What types of things are you good at guessing at? Eh.
Has your favorite band / artist ever toured Europe? I don't really have a favorite band at the moment.
Who was the last person you heard from that you were surprised to hear from? Was this a pleasant surprise? I didn't hear from them directly, but I guess my sibling? It was not a pleasant surprise at all.
Don’t you just love french fries with melted cheese on top? Sure.
What is your favorite take out food to get? What do you usually order? Chinese. I don't get takeout often, but I love cashew chicken with rice and cream cheese wantons.
Is the room you’re in carpeted or is it a hard wood floor? Are there any rugs? It's carpeted.

hi! saw your match ups were open and wanted to send a request if that's ok! im a woman and my pronouns are he/him. i don't have a gender preference or a type. i'd like romantic if that's alright. as far as aesthetic goes, i'm not really sure what to call it. i work as a receptionist so i'm generally just always dressed smart. i'm not really one for dresses, trousers and shirts are my go to. i wear a lot of jewellery though, at least one ring and one bracelet on each hand. i always wear glasses bc i cannot see at all and i've got long reddish hair. as for personality im quite a quiet person. i always help people where i can. i've got a dry sense of humour and have a tendency towards cynicism but at least i'm fun with it. i'm a very organised person. confrontation is not my strong point. i'm not afraid to stand up for myself and others, i've done it before but i will shake the entire time and i wish that was an exaggeration. i know its bad but i love a good gossip, its fun. i've got a few hobbies and interests, i love reading, mainly crime fiction. that ties into my other interest of true crime, i actually have 2 degrees in forensic psychology. i'm a very music oriented person. not only do i listen to it a lot, but i also play piano and sing. i engage in a lot of genres but i've been balls deep in an inescapable musical theatre phase for about a decade. i used to be in a society for it, definitely better at singing and dancing than acting, and i also did a lot of backstage stuff. i was even stage manager in one production (never again). my job and my degrees required me to be quite tech savvy in the sense thay i needed to know how to use a couple data handling softwares which i somehow managed. things i like - books, animals, sunny weather, warm white lights. things i dislike - people that don't have manners, loud overlapping noises, being rained on, insects. i don't have any characters that are a hard no. i hope i've done everything alright, you're such a talented writer and thank you :)
Hello! Yes, you’ve done everything perfectly and provided me a lot of information which I appreciate ;3 also, thank you for calling me a talented writer, I appreciate it a lot :((
Now, prepare to be sssurprised, as I match you with...
Sir Pentious!
Yes, him! Allow me to explain: you said you’re a cynic, a person distrustful of human sincerity. Sir Pentious is the exact demon who would prove you that some people, in this case him, are sincere. He’s a genuine individual, somewhat ingenuous if you will, who likes the simplest of things such as drinking good tea and having friends.
Described as a wussy fighter by Vivziepop herself, he really needs somebody who will stand up for him and you seem to be the right person for this job, as you’re not afraid of doing so. He actually quite admires your courage, as even he can notice that you’re nervous when you stand up for other people, and yet he wonders how you manage to do it either way. He thanks you profusely each time this happens, and promises to look out for you in return.
Your job and degrees requiring you to be a quite tech savvy person makes me think that you’d somehow end up getting asked for help in some of his inventions; he trusts that you’re somewhat of a quick learner and smart, plus he simply loves to include you in his hobbies just as you include him in yours (more on this later!), so having you around him and the Egg Boiz is quite the pleasure every time.
Despite being a little silly, Pentious can very well be a gentleman, too. You dislike people with no manners? He’s more than willing to hiss at them if you ever come across any. You hate loud noises? He’ll make sure to invent something, anything that could help you with that. Don’t like being rained on? He will remove his jacket to hold it over your head if he has to. And rest assured he will remind Niffty about the gross bugs circulating in the Hotel if she doesn’t clean well enough.
Sir Pentious is not the most courageous demon around, we’re all aware of this. But! For you he will make an exception, and watch all those true crime videos and read the crime fiction you seem to be so passionate about. After all, you join him in his hobbies, so him participating in your is the least he can do. He’s also not afraid of gory situations themselves, so that’s something. He unexpectedly finds himself enjoying the time spent with you, especially reading, and he definitely interrupts you at least once each time to prepare a cup of tea for both him and you, if you enjoy it.
I can also see him being mesmerized by your skills each time you sing or play piano, and he would definitely try to learn how to sing/play along! He comes up with all these silly little tunes, it’s quite endearing on your side actually, and he surely wants to hear the most modern music you can play for him.
Pentious doesn’t really care what his lover is wearing at all, he will compliment you no matter if you’re dressed classy, cute, edgy or if you’re just getting ready to go to work. To him, you’re the most gorgeous person around, and while he’d be a little more on the shy side at first with compliments, he’d definitely go all out once you’ve been in a relationship for a while. He quite enjoys your liking for jewellery, and will remind you how pretty it looks on you whenever you’re putting it on.
All in all, I feel like you two would be the cutest representation of ‘opposites attract’!

I could never become bored of you, not that easily, at least! You are my Bon, you can't get rid of me that easily <3
Yeah, I got 2 kitties! Both of them are boys, and their names are Pickle and Bean! Maybe one day you'll get to see pictures of them! I also have a dog, snails, isopod, beetles, chickens, and hermit crabs! Got a bit of a zoo around here!
I'll definitely watch some of your suggestions, and I will be sure to tell you my thoughts! Just another excuse to talk to you!
I will hopefully be posting on my blog again soon, and I am so excited to now that I know you will be watching my blog (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
I mainly read fiction, distopian, and horror/gore. But also, like when books have lgbt+ characters, and have read a few Manga! I just borrowed a book from a friend called "The Corpse Queen" by Heather M. Herrman, I strongly suggest it, I've also just started reading a GL Manga series called "Whisper Me a Love Song" and so far have been really enjoying it!!! I like plants in many ways, I learn about plants, I grow both indoor and outdoor plants, and I have a fascination with all living or once living things,,, and they happen to fit in that category too!!! I don't think I could pick just one flower as my favorite, but I do enjoy Asters a lot! Bleeding hearts? awe, it makes sense that a sweetie like you would love a poisonous flower!
What video games do you like to play? I'd love to hear all about your current favorite game! What part of history do you like so much? Oh and you collect things too! I would love to hear all about your little hoards 💕
-Dolly
I’M YOUR BON?? ASJHFSHBHKHGSGHFHJKSHLJS (><)
Okay. Anyways. Sorry, got a lil excited there... I’m your Bon, and you’re my Doll!! All mine!!! I’m glad to hear that you wouldn’t get bored and leave. I’d do anything to make sure my precious doll stays with me!
AWH, they sound so darling. You have so many… how do you keep up with all of them??That’s really cool, though! You definitely have some uncommon pets.
I’m excited to hear your thoughts (๑>◡<)
I will definitely be watching my doll’s blog! How could I not? Anyone would find it hard to take their eyes off you. Besides, I’d love to see more of your posts when you decide to go back to it.
Ah, those are all good genres! Thank you for the recommendation, and I’ll check out the manga you mentioned later. Asters are gorgeous; my doll has great taste in flowers!!
I usually prefer games with long stories. I like RPGs and visual novels the most! I find pixel art really nice to look at, so a lot of my favorite games feature that. I’ve been playing through a farming sim called Fields of Mistria lately; it’s been really enjoyable so far! The best way I could describe it is as a mix of Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. As for my current favorite games, they’re probably… Minecraft, Danganronpa, Persona 5 Royal, and Identity V. I’m not finished playing through P5R, but I like it so far. I’m currently replaying and trying to get all achievements in every Danganronpa game! I’ve finished Trigger Happy Havoc, and I’m now working on Goodbye Despair. Having a bit of trouble though, because I have a friend I’m sharing my Steam library with who is ALSO playing through the Danganronpa games. I can’t play the games until they get off, bleh. AH, I also started a playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2. I suck ass at it. I ended up punching my horse when trying to get on it. I also drew my gun on it multiple times. So sorry to my horse, it did not deserve that. It took me like 10 minutes and frantic googling to figure out how to get back on my horse after I accidentally got off (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
Do you play any videogames? If you do, I’d love to hear about what you like to play.
Ah, I just like history in general. I love to learn about things. Some things that caught my interest for awhile in the past though are torture/execution methods, the Chernobyl disaster, the Carrington event, WW2, old medical treatments, and Greek mythology. I haven’t been into history as much lately.. so I probably couldn’t explain anything here well.
I do collect stuff! I have a collection of various plushies, figurines, keychains, and knickknacks stored in my room. I think my favorite things that I own are probably my jar of uranium glass and this stunning piece of bismuth I got just a couple weeks ago. I’d like to start a full on collection of uranium glass, but that’s expensive, and I have no idea where I’d put it. Uranium glass is absolutely gorgeous, though! I hope to at least get a couple more pieces in the future.

Writeblr Interview
Thanks for the tag @theink-stainedfolk
Short stories, novels or poems?
Short stories all the way!
What genre do you prefer reading?
Sci-Fi, fantasy, and horror. What I write, basically :')
What genre do you prefer writing?
See above, though I am way fonder of writing horror than reading it. I am also somehow even more allergic to romance as a writer, however.
Are you a planner or a write-as-i-go kind of person?
Write as I go, because I find planning makes me bored of a story.
What music do you listen to while writing the story?
I love musicals and/or vocaloid! I tend to loop a single song for one shorter story, or a playlist for longer ones.
Fav books/movies
I've always had a soft spot for the Alex Verus series, as well as Spinning Silver and the Chanur Saga by CJ Cherryh.
Any Current WIPs?
I am very firmly not thinking about anything except my novel (but cultist WIP my beloved :'))
If someone were to make a cartoon out of you, what would your standard outfit be?
Definitely my debate fit. It's the only thing I wear regularly, and it's a ruffled top, knee length skirt, and boot heels. I love it so much hehe
Create a character description of yourself
Hmm... Time to switch to an indented paragraph :)
She was a young woman, tall and willowy, with hair dyed purple-red. Her left hand bore a recovering burn scar, unobscured by the mass of rings she wore. She had glasses perched on the tip of the nose, one lens thicker than the other, and a lopsided smile to match. When she spoke, her words tumbled out of her mouth like they were racing one another, and she listened like a hawk, head cocked to a side.
In case you haven't noticed, I spend far too much time observing myself.
Do you like incorporating people you actually know into your writing?
Not at all haha. Too many people I know read my writing, and I'm not risking any of them recognising themselves.
Are you kill-happy with the characters?
Yes and no? All people die, and when one's writing spans as great a time as mine does, it's only natural for everyone to die. But I don't do it onscreen that often.
Coffee or Tea while writing?
Water, cos I'm a hydro-homie :D
Slow or Fast writer?
I have no idea what fast is considered, but I write anywhere from 500-5k words a day.
Where/who/what do you find inspiration from?
Real life. I see something interesting and onto the paper it goes, along with far too much dramatisation.
If you were put into a fantasy world, what would you be?
If you dumped me in a fantasy world, I'd probably gravitate towards being a villain, or at least the protag's rival. More often than not I can't stand the heroes of the books I read, and I honestly tend to root for the villains in any book I read. That's probably why I almost always write villain protags haha
Most fave book cliche?
I'm rather fond of twist villains. I don't know why, it's just so fun to watch them drop the mask, especially if done well.
Least fave book cliche?
Not a cliche per se, but "We had to lie to you to protect you". If someone did that to me, I would never forgive them. Especially when the person in question is lying about their identity. I hate that trope so much I wrote Heroes as a complaint against it. I fully support Mara's wrongs and if I had been in her place I would have tried to poison the cake too.
Fave scenes to write?
Gore!!!!! Blood!!! Torture!!!!
Most productive time of day for writing?
While on the go, I guess. Walking is my personal fav, though it's pretty unsafe.
Reason for writing?
Because the stupid thoughts in my head keep bugging me >:(
Tagging @oliolioxenfreewrites, @katenewmanwrites, @gioiaalbanoart, @inseasofgreen and open tag!
