He wasn't much of a cook himself, but he started picking up little tricks from you, eventually learning how to make your favorite type of coffee because, "You deserve better than the sludge in the teachers' lounge."

Movie nights became a tradition between the two of you.

Shota was surprisingly open to your collection of your old horror movies, though he'd often fall asleep halfway through - his head resting on your shoulder as you tried not to die of cuteness overload at how cute peaceful he looked amidst the chaos on screen.

The shift from friendship to something a bit more was subtle.

Shota found himself looking forward to seeing you every day, noticing the little things about you like how your eyes lit up when you talked about your latest art project or when you got another vintage video game console to add to your collection, or how you would hum softly to a 'Nine Inch Nails' song while preparing food or snacks.

For you, it was the way he always seemed to look out for you, from ensuring you didn't overwork yourself to subtly stepping in when you struggled in social situations

His quiet protectiveness made you feel seen and cared for.

He'd offer his scarf when you forget yours, wrapping it snugly around your neck and muttering about how you need to take better care of yourself.

Lazy afternoons spent on the couch with Void and his other cat sprawled between you, your fingers gently running through Shota’s hair as he quietly drifts off to sleep.

Super late to the party on this but I played Far Cry 3 for the first time ever recently and just wanted to say your Hoyt content is INCREDIBLE. You really fleshed out a villain who deserved far more development and screen time than he got.

also v random but I’ve seen a semi-common thing mentioned in any fic about him owning five villas but I don’t remember hearing anyone say that in the game? Do you have any idea where it came from? You seem like pretty much the definitive expert on his character lol

Won't lie, but I don't remember either (😬) because the last time I played this game was eons ago (and I'm not active in this fandom anymore) so frankly, I would definitely have to brush up my lore to see where the 'Hoyt Volker owns five villas' thing originated from in the first place (Maybe a side-character mentions it? I don't recall anymore. Sorry. Would be hilarious if it originated from me and I have no recollection of it.) but I like to think it is simply a logical piece of fanon, among others. Man's a slave trafficker. Arms dealer. Drug peddler. A whoremongerer. The biggest one in the South Pacific. It's a very lucrative, albeit horrendously ethically wrong sort of business. It's easy to become filthy rich when you've no qualms about stepping on other people's backs to acquire it. Stands to reason that outside of his bubble on Rook Island, the man actually lives, boasts and maintains a lavish lifestyle...that is, if he was ever off of that archipelago enough to actually enjoy it, because that damned place doesn't let anyone get off, invertedly tying and trapping everyone and everything in its midst and most people aren't even aware of it. Therein lies a huge bit of irony about Hoyt.

Man's richer than God.

He runs everything he surveys within this microcosm, sure, but he's also overworked, greasy, cranky and looks like he's seen better days. Has the appearance of a common street pimp too, rather than someone who's effectively a millionaire. Looks like he hasn't left Rook Island in ages either, so whatever bit of revenue, real estate, ships, boats, money, wealth, cars and luxuries this guy owns, and I'm certain he technically owns a lot, is let unattended, unused and unsavoured somewhere abroad, because even Hoyt himself might not realize just why he has never left his base on Rook Island to actually indulge in the spoils of his own hard work. But, that's why Rook Island is so eerie and accursed. Why it has such a mystical quality to it, almost like an entity with a will of its own. Because Volker has profited off of exploiting the place for decades. The people on it. He turned its hallowed wildlife and sacred grounds into a base for his illegal operations. Its nature into fields where he grows his narcotics. Transformed the place into a gathering place for privateers, pirates, junkies and hookers. Rook Island has a way to repay that offence, ensuring Volker never leaves to actually be able to find joy in any of the material goods he's earned through his labor, in some beautiful villa somewhere, soaking in a jacuzzi with a martini glass, even though he owns that and much, much more.

Nope. Rook and his office is where he stays.

Occasionally going out dish out some order and authority when it's required to the other ends of the islands and come back and continue his same old routine, at that very desk, in that very chair, overlooking the courtyard to his equally decrepit looking compound.

Of course he has five villas.

Two things your character regrets:

(During moments of self-awareness) he regrets the person he's become now. He knows his behaviour is unlikeable and indecent, because of this ofc most everyone around him hates him or is scared of him- which leads him to not being able to bring his kids out in public (or alternatively, he gives them a bad reputation when they become adults because of who they're related to) because he's scared they might get hurt as a result of people who hate him; he knows it's his fault for this outcome, but he hates everyone around him (that aren't his children) and just refuses to let go. He resents humanity for how much he has been pushed around, mocked and hurt physically in the past for just existing. He doesn't think anyone is worthy of recieving genuine kindness because deep down they're all just as disgusting as he is. This leads to ego and self-importance that makes him feel superior to others because he's not scared of showing just how revolting one can be + he's not human anymore + he's immortal + he can control/speak to hoards of cockroaches.

He also regrets having placed his distaste for humanity so high he's passed it down on his first generation of children. For the most part, this has caused a few of his children to distance themselves from him, like for example Judith and Kolvenik, which hurt him deeply. Kolvenik flat out blames his father and his hatred for humanity as to why he's developed his genetic disorder that has caused him to permanently shed off his human disguise as he got older (which is completely incorrect just to clarify; how Rotgut feels towards mankind has nothing to do with Kolvenik's genetic issue, he just hates and resents his father mostly as a form of projecting his own self-hatred living as a humanoid bug monster that can't have a human form).

Rotgut tries to better himself non-stop when it comes to raising his newest kids, because he wants to see them be happy and make friends and connections, be likeable and be liked by others regardless of what species they are, unlike him. This makes him a bit hypocritical since when he's on his own, he openly goes back to his old ways & antics- with his kids however he just kind of puts on a mask.

Hi love! How are you? No no, I still have your original question. Sorry, I'd been quite busy and when that happens I try to focus either on writing the little I could so I can update or drawing so I space out a bit from work. ��

I'm going to be honest for a sec, University has forced me to read almost nobody that doesn't involve research papers and biochemistry books lol. So I've not read any recreational books in a while. The last two I read were "The Portrait of a Lady" by Henry James and "the handmaid's tale" by Margaret Atwood.

Mh books I've read? I don't think I remember them all haha But I can tell you about my overall I guess. My unpopular opinion is that while I'm a huge horror lover Stephen King books are… so boring for me. First, I find his female character so empty. If they aren't the villain, they are a devoted mother, or some hot love interest. Of course they are exceptions but it's too frequent for me to deal with it.

The handmaid's tale HBO show? amazing, mind blowing, gorgeous. The book? … Huh… well… It was decent. First time that I can say that a book adaptation was better than the book itself.

John Katzenbach thriller books are really good but he has a "patron" to create thriller and once you read more than one they become predictable. I highly recommend "the analyst". While I've not read more than the original and apparently there are more parts to it, the first book was good enough for me. I think it's a really easy going thriller and entertaining.

There's a book from my home country, Argentina, that I adore. "El elixir de la muerte y otras historias con veneno'' by Ciencia que Ladra (in English, the death's elixir and other stories with poison). I think it's an amazing book for those who like to write books. It's basically a summary of the different poisons used in history and, also, medicine that was "used as medicine" and actually was extremely poisonous. I love that book to get references for my own stories.

Books I have like: Les Miserables, Foucault's Pendulum, Tales of two cities, 1984, Brave New World (This last two are books I think that ANYONE should read, it's just perfection). I've read a bunch of Jane Austen books, I enjoy them. Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. I'm actually quite boring with my books haha I'm into the classics. I've read a good couple of Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe and obviously Sherlock Holmes. Wuthering Heights

That's why I think my favourite Era in literature is Romanticism. I remember that I personally adore how heavily detailed the description of places and I'd always loved heavy literature. I get bored if I feel like I don't need a dictionary while I'm reading.

Recently, I've been interested a lot in Anarchism books hahaha I don't know how appropriate it is to say that. But yeah, for example: The Conquest of Bread by Kropotkin, Malatesta. LMAO I feel like people would feel like I want to put bombs into buildings after this.

A book that I like mmh eh I guess that any of the above. My guilty pleasure is the one about poison because I adore finding weird History details. Like the story of "búcaros" during the Spanish Golden Age, that's just… chef kiss of history details haha.

A book that I dislike? I remember I hated every page of Robinson Crusoe and I really didn't like "the portrait of a lady". I learned a lot of English vocabulary reading the last one but I felt like it cringed me out a lot. However I added a quote from it in Holy ground because I remember reading it and thinking "god, this is for Levi,"

which is: “If one is strong, one loves the more strongly.”

A piece of literature that marks me, probably 1984. I read it when I was… perhaps too young to understand and once I read it again as an adult it really changed me. But probably Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. My father was a buddhist so my home was full of … let's say interesting books lol. This book is short but left me with a quote for the rest of my life "Recognise your own limits and truly enough they will be yours," maybe in English the quote is different but this is how i remember it in Spanish.

Okay, it might just be my autism but I might need more details to properly answer this lol, feel free to correct me!

Obligatory warning: I am not a professional character writer.

(I love the idea for your cleric btw, that sound so fun!)

If I'm reading this right....

First, I noticed you want each group to share a certain 'vibe'. This is a good way to differentiate your clans/groups! The thing with groups of people is, there is always going to be someone outside that norm.

If you are married to the idea of having the group share a 'vibe' (personality traits, beliefs, behavior, ideals, ect) it's best to keep that group small, tight and close-knit. A smaller, more personal group is more likely to share the same mentality. A large group is more likely to form into smaller cliques or families inside the same clan.

From what I understand, Cirrusclan's thing is, live in the moment, chill, go with the flow, almost hedonistic 'pleasures of the earth type' ? The beliefs and practices of the clan should reflect that, on order for 'nurture' to overpower nature. (Nurture is behavior based on how one is raised, Nature is behavior based on 'genetics')

An easy way to separate characters with these same 'vibes' is give them different ways the go about, different other personality traits. One character is lazy and takes pleasure in doing nothing, one character is a caretaker making sure everyone has a good time, one character works hard in order to 'justify' enjoying so much free time. Maybe one character is picky, and only takes of the highest quality, maybe one character is elitist and thinks certain cats deserve relaxation more? These are just ideas. Young cats are more likely to question the existing culture.

When creating compelling characters, first figure out who is the most important cat. The cats closest to protagonists, major villains, are more important. Who is your POV cat most likely to interact with?? They'll need more writing attention. For less important characters, give them basic traits and find places to use them (places they would show up)

Example: Thorclaw from AtD. Thornclaw is perhaps the least important Thunderclan cat in this arc. The three Thunderclan protags this arc have absolutely no meaningful connection to this guy. I start by giving his base traits. He is a struct, grumpy, serious conservative hard codeist. He often guards camp. If I need a Thunderclan cat to spew some conservative codeist stuff, I'll use Thornclaw. If I need a camp guard to bother someone trying to sneak out, Thornclaw is my guy.

A characters, especially a background character, development does not have to be a big thing. Maybe this cat refuses to eat birds for personal reasons. That's it. I suggest writing a small paragraph or two for each characters 'background' This can be as simple as their family situation, mentor, how they liked training, thoughts on events or other cats, ect.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is a goal. Give a character something to work towards! Anything! Maybe they want to be a den builder. Maybe they want to be a better brother. Maybe they want to get their first cool battle scar. Maybe it's an interpersonal problem, like dealing with anxiety! Who knows! Not every character needs to be deep in the plot!

A goal gives a character a reason to... exist. Do things. Even if it's just 'get to tommorow'.

This may be harsh, but unless you are very very attached, if a character does not have a place to be in your story, cut them. Better characters with story (background story included) get more screen time than having a large cast.

If you want to keep an empty character, give them a role. 'Oh, I need a wise character who gives advice!' take a currently empty character and make them that!

The issue: you are making me choose between the Spaniard and the Scotsman for my hubbie and I don't like it-

my list of fictional crushes has only grown since I've gotten into ASMR... the list was already long enough...

The comments:

First off, I really like Alfonso's character. Specifically the fact that he's not already a famed vampire slayer or anything, that he's still low in the ranks of the Guild and he's trying to live up to the memory of his father. I also enjoyed how the confession scene in Episode Five was written. One of my BIGGEST pet peeves with romance tropes is when someone says "I love you!" after TWO DAYS of knowing the other person (I'm looking at you, Disney). But here, it felt like it was taken into account that Alfonso and the Guest hadn't known each other for long and were thrown into a very stressful and emotional situation. So yeah, feelings were probably going to be a result of that, but that doesn't necessarily mean it was "love" to begin with... but it could become that. Saying "I want you" made it feel more honest, I suppose.

Second, loveeeeee how the video was set up (I watched the story compilation btw, probably should've mentioned that). But the way the background shifted with the situation was SO cool. I've noticed that before in your other series, not sure if I've brought it up yet, but it really helps with the immersion as well as giving me a better idea of what the setting is. Also- SOUNDTRACK. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THE SOUNDTRACK.

Third, I thought it was epic that you did it in English and Spanish. Also neat finding out that you're Spanish, that was cool. My family's Puerto Rican, so I can understand the language (if you speak it at very slow pace and are very patient with me) but I personally can't speak it. I love hearing it, though, and I want to learn it properly lol.

so, the audiobooks are Incredible ! like. no joke. i actually relistened to them back in like. march / april / may, that area and i Loved it ! actually, fun fact, david tennant recorded them and he does a phenomenal job !!! he gets super into character and does different voices for everyone and is just all around Incredible ! they are a pleasure to listen to!

another thing i'll add is that cressida adds her own pictures and i'm pretty sure none of these include her pictures which is sad :/ but maybe some do ! the art is really cute ! she also includes things in the middle of the books like a guide on certain words or phrases and how to say them in dragonese or pages from hiccup's personal guide to dragon's book which gives you, the reader, more information about the dragons hiccup and the gang are facing, seeing, interacting with! the audiobook includes those, but idk about the pdfs!

i hope you enjoy them because these books were like. my childhood. i vividly remember that i once had a (poorly drawn) map hanging on my wall of the world in relation to berk and where all of the different viking tribes were ! the characters are all unique and quirky and wait also

do Not let the silliness of the first few books make you stop because they get so much more mature as they go on. not to make a harry potter reference because screw jkr, but like, you wouldn't put goblet of fire as the first hp book. you gotta work up to the genuine seriousness, you gotta introduce the characters and establish world building and that's what the first three, four, books does ! cressida is a super clever author too, and everything she writes matters, even if it's later on. it's incredible to watch the books mature, i remember reading every book as they came out and being blown away every time. i was just a kid, tho, so rereading / listening to them makes me gape sometimes because wow there are some serious / darker themes that are handled Really Well.

the books also have Incredible representation for their time, imo, especially with gender roles (which is even more impactful when camicazi comes in in book three) and disabilities (fishlegs is a Huge person here and i love him) (toothless also works here too because he has a stutter), amongst other things. and none of these things are ever made fun of in a way that seems legit. the people who make fun of them are the jerks or the villains or the people you aren't supposed to like. it's just. ahhhhh! they're so good and i have Many Feelings i could go on forever about how much i adore these books wow wow wow but i shall stop now so i do not spoil anything major because i am Great at accidentally spoiling lol

hello spookyshai!! its cool if u dont want to, but i was wonderin if you'd elaborate on what you like about william? i just like thinking about/mentally rewriting westworld and its characters in my free time, and your fascination with william's got me fascinated, mostly bc i see him as a stinky bastard. so obvs you'd definitely have a more nuanced take on him, which i'd also like to develop for the imaginary westworld rewrite fic that i'm never going to write ;)) regardless if u answer or not, just wanted to say i'm a fan of your blog and i hope you're havin a good day!!

omg so first of all thank you so so much for sending this, especially asking unprompted about a character you don't even like and giving me a chance to explain my feelings about him which is just incredibly cool of you. i love and am obsessed with william so giving me any excuse to talk about him at length is like gifting me $1000. if you want to know more about my meta thoughts about him after reading this, (I'm gonna talk A Lot – sorry – but i can't possibly get through everything because he's just a very complicated guy and it's a very dense show), you can always look in my william tag. I have a lot of text posts about him, but I also often talk a lot in the tags of my own posts as well as reblogs. This is gonna be a lot of totally disorganized and unedited infodumping of a lot of different meta, but i've talked about all of it at length elsewhere too and I can also totally elaborate more if you have any specific questions (you could send another ask if you wanted, but also feel free to just message me about it anytime). I'll do my best not to get too emotional (lol) but it'll be tough because this character is so close to my heart. but I'll try!

this is a huge wall of text lol so i'll also be adding more bold and italics than i normally would just to make it a little easier to read.

so first of all let's be clear, he completely is a stinky bastard. he is a horrible, awful, faithless, pathetic specimen of a man. not liking him is totally justified. just wanted to get that out of the way. personally I think not liking anything for any reason is totally valid and justified, but there are certainly good reasons why a lot of people don't like william. he is not a good dude, at least not after a certain point. No one is obligated to relate to him, empathize with him, feel bad for him, whatever... like, no one's obligated to like anything, but especially this guy. sometimes people can get a little shirty about the fact that i do, like me liking him means i think they have to. I don't think that. I do love finding other william stans, and i am very unapologetic and open about my love for him, but him being widely hated makes complete sense to me.

sigh like why i love him so much though… it's kind of hard to even put into words. on one level it's just extremely personal, like, there are a lot of things about him that i really resonate with and identify with, although I know that sounds weird (it's definitely gotten some very shocked reactions before, lol). i'm a villain liker in general, i tend to be able to relate to those types of characters easily and it kind of takes a lot for me to really dislike one on a personal level (though that's true of any sort of character, i just tend to like the majority of the characters in any work that i genuinely enjoy regardless of how shitty they are – to me the only truly bad thing a character can be is annoying, like, the kind of annoying where you just want them off your screen). Characters being any degree of evil or shitty or problematic doesn't bug me at all, personally, I tend to feel no deep internal urge to have them 'held accountable' for the things they do, unless they exist in a narrative that genuinely doesn't seem to understand that they are in the wrong, which does irritate me when it happens. But anyway, I don't want to get too oversharey but there's definitely a very high level of just personal resonance to the character for me in terms of the kinds of conflicts he has, the things he struggles with, the dominant emotions of his life, etc. so that's part of it. also though he's just… a very complex and beautifully constructed piece of character work, so I also love him just on a technical level as a writer.

He has such incredible significance in the story too, being the thematic representative of humanity, both to dolores and to the wider narrative – his capabilities for good and evil are humanity's capabilities for good and evil, right. Dolores' opinion of humanity and feelings towards humanity are very colored by her opinion of him and her feelings towards him, and thematically their relationship is sort of a microcosm of the broader relationship between hosts and humanity and very much a central piece of the narrative. Even when it's out of direct focus it's being constantly referenced and pointed back to, such as with the caleb storyline in season 3 – caleb himself is basically one big callback to william in s3, parallels out the wazoo, and his function of turning around dolores' opinion on humans is very much related to him reminding her of william – hence why her storyline in season 3 ends with her remarking on how her memories of william as a young man indicate to her that humanity is capable of goodness, because caleb's capacity to choose echoes william's capacity to choose, caleb's goodness echoes william's goodness, it all goes back to that, etc.

So… I guess I'll just jump in lol. William's Thing, the fulcrum of his character, the main feeling or sentiment that underlies all of his evil actions and kind of his general turn away from the kind and gentle person he used to be, is alienation, right. He lives his whole life (as he tells dolores in 1x07) not fitting in anywhere, not making connections anywhere, not having any sort of community or any experience with love or companionship of any kind… he's just been totally alone and alienated his entire life. like, the closest thing he had to a friend was logan, and he hates logan. I think this is the major thing people miss about him – there's this perception that his turning evil was out of some form of entitlement, that he was just angry that this woman he liked didn't like him back and it's just an issue of wounded masculinity, but to me that completely misses the mark. Like yes wounded masculinity is a piece of his character (the way he performs and weaponizes masculinity in general is… really fascinating, I'll go into a bit more detail about it, but the kind of showy machismo that he displays is definitely a tool that he intentionally developed for his own use rather than a really integral part of who he is) but it's not at all the core emotion happening there.

To William, Dolores was not only a person he was in love with or a person he was attracted to. She was also his first and only genuine human connection ever. She was his first true friend, she was his first love, she was the first suggestion anywhere in his life that it was even possible at all for him to experience a sort of deep mutual understanding and care, that somebody could actually genuinely see him and let him see them. He literally just had not ever experienced any level of real emotional intimacy before, which is a feeling i actually think a lot of people relate to if they grew up feeling very lonely. And then ultimately not only was that relationship taken away, but it was kind of retroactively deleted. When he saw her again back in sweetwater, his thought was not, "i don't have this relationship anymore," but "i never had this relationship," and further, "the single person i've ever thought i could have this kind of relationship with is actually not capable of having any kind of relationship with anyone, including me, and i literally just made all of this up in my head." After losing Dolores he is not just sad and lonely – he literally comes to the conclusion that he can never have any kind of intimate human connection or be genuinely loved, ever, because the one person in his entire life he thought he connected with is not even a person at all, but just a thing. It's very much a rug pull moment on a level that's hard to describe, it kind of takes some thought-experimenting to get to that emotional place because it's a level of shock and hurt and betrayal and like, paradigm-shifting that most of us don't regularly experience (which I think might be part of the reason why a lot of people don't seem to really understand his character or be able to parse what's going on with him emotionally). Suffice it to say it's a wound deep enough that he was pretty much never going to recover from it.

After that happens he is completely destabilized, he loses all sense of meaning and self, and he never gets a grip on it again. He had totally reconstructed his idea of his life to include the genuine possibility of meaning, and meaningful relationships, when he met Dolores. And with the loss of her, all of that suddenly went away and he basically was just left with nothing. So that alienation that he grew up with is now not just a part of his life, not just a thing that he suffers from, but he starts to feel that it's inherent to him and that it comes from him, which is partly why we start getting all the anti-social behavior he displays later in life. He develops and kind of fosters that lack of empathy in himself not because he's truly incapable of empathy (as we see when he's a young man and at a couple of later points here and there, he is in fact very capable of it) but because he feels fundamentally cut off from other people – he can't reach them and they can't reach him.

So that fundamental sense of alienation is really what informs 90% of the things he does after that point. He starts building this persona, inside and outside the park. The real world feels meaningless to him at this point because the only hint of meaning he's ever had in his life was in the park, so he buys the park, and simultaneously starts trying to "win" at life in the real world like he would in the park. The real world honestly doesn't feel any more real to him than the park does, he just knows rationally that it's different and so he behaves differently outside the park… he builds all this wealth and power for himself, he becomes a famous philanthropist. Inside the park he starts creating this character for himself, this sort of hyper-masculine, hyper-competent, totally emotionally composed, merciless, badass villain. And he makes a very concerted effort to stay in this persona as often as he can.

It's all a performance, though, right. As early as 1x05 we have Ford pointing out (to his face! legend) that his barely-hidden desperation to find meaning in the park is giving the game away. In that flashback near the end of 2x02 we get a glimpse of what's underneath, because he's performing this cold, heartless persona in front of Dolores literally while his voice is shaking because he's having to try hard not to start crying as he's talking to her. Deep down he is still very wounded, he still loves her, he still desperately wishes deep down (as jimmi simpson explained) for her to just tell him that all of it was real, for her to be real and truly be a person the way he thought she was. When he's an older man that wish is still in there, it's just been buried very deep, covered up with a lot of other things, twisted. But it's always there, it's his most closely held desire, the only thing he truly wants, and it comes out all the time in the things he does. All his tormenting of dolores, and especially his desire to make the park "real" in order to find meaning – that's that. That sense of deep confusion that's always there in his character too, the constant inner monologue of "who am I, what does this mean, does anything mean anything, what is real or not real, what is going on," that's that too, that's his destabilized sense of self and reality and meaning that came out of losing Dolores. And by this point he has also come to feel, as he says in 2x09 to his wife, that there is something very fundamentally wrong with him, in a way that's kind of at odds with how we as the audience have historically understood him.

The thing is, we saw him be a kind, loving, gentle, thoughtful person. He certainly was not perfect, for instance his later narcissism started out as a sort of basic self-centeredness, but he was a fundamentally good-hearted person who put most of his energy into trying to do the right thing. But he starts saying that he feels like that wasn't the real him, that he thinks deep down he was evil and poisonous all along, that his turn to darkness was inevitable, and that there's a sort of helplessness to his evil. There's this deep sense of shame that permeates his character along with his loneliness and alienation and resentment. He hates everything, he hates the world, but above all he hates himself – kind of amusing considering the god complex he's developed over time. But that really does seem to be the underlying emotion, that he truly thinks that deep down he was always bad. It's very heavily implied that his philanthropy outside the park and his attention to his family, his kind of good-guy persona, is something that he constructed to try and make up for his true nature, and all but stated that he doesn't feel like he's succeeded. To him, no amount of good he does will ever balance his level of evil, evil that as he says doesn't come from anything he's done but something deeper than that, something immutable, something he is. So that's why we eventually have him getting to the point of going "I might as well not bother with this anymore. I might as well just be evil, because I can't change what I am."

I've also said in other posts that the things Juliet says to him come off as obviously abusive. Like, she's technically correct that there's some sinister things going on with his private life, but listen to how she says it. You're a virus, not a person, a thing that mindlessly infects and destroys and has no other purpose. And he agrees with her! He doesn't question it at all, he just says, yes, you're exactly right, I'm not a human being with good and bad attributes, or potential to do both right and wrong. I'm a virus. Like, again, I know people get weird about having empathy for villain characters, there's the whole "cool motive, still murder," thing, because we don't want to be excusing anyone's bad actions with a sad backstory (personally I don't really care, but I understand where the concern comes from). But when he said that to Juliet it just… like I don't know how else to put it, it broke my heart. He really believes that about himself. And later he starts to question it because he's not sure anymore if he actually chose to do any of the things he did… but the way his hallucination of Emily puts it, these are his two options: you are evil, or you had no choice. One or the other. He never puts aside the idea that he is a monster that does not deserve to live, and his suicidality persists from season one (when he encourages Dolores to shoot him in the head and reacts with honest disappointment when she can't) to the end of season four when he actually does manage to engineer his own death. He is deeply, agonizingly, pathetically miserable existing the way that he is, he seems to see his even being allowed to live at all as some sort of cosmic injustice. But he doesn't know how to change back to the way he was.

All that having happened, though, we also keep getting these repeated suggestions in the story that he actually is still capable of goodness somewhere in there. The narrative keeps asking what William is exactly, what his fundamental nature is, and keeps refusing to land on one answer, instead choosing to keep things ambiguous in a way that would be sort of odd for your garden variety villain. In 2x04 we see him experiencing regret, feeling empathy and pain on behalf of others, and acting genuinely heroic, only to later backtrack and say it didn't mean anything. In 2x09 Emily tells him he is in his essence "a lie" but makes no attempt to locate what the "truth" of him would then be. In 3x06 he tries to figure out the answer to what's going on with him again only to decide he still doesn't really know, in 3x08 we get this reminder that he still stands for Dolores as a representation of both humanity's evil and its goodness, in 4x05 when his host duplicate asks him what he is, he says "Jury's still out." He is too far down his current path to turn back, but he still does not and cannot definitively and finally choose evil, because despite his self-loathing it seems like he senses deep down that his other side is still in there. All that to say I think he's getting a redemption arc in season 5, if we get a season 5 – season 5 is supposed to be the do-over season, and the character who most desperately needs and could most benefit from a do-over is William.

Um, closing thoughts… I think he's really funny. Sometimes intentionally, like, I do laugh at his little quippy comments, but I also just think it's really funny how pathetic he is and what a mess he is and how he basically imploded his entire life on accident. I do feel a lot of very genuine care and empathy for him (obviously), but he's also such a garbage fire of a human being that you sometimes just have to laugh. He's just my funny little guy, also he sucks, also I love him and he's my lil angel, also he's the worst man ever in history and deserves to be drawn and quartered (said with love). You get it. :) There's dimensions.

Trying to think of other characterization notes for your imaginary fic… oh, did you notice he puts on an accent in the park? He does this fake Southern drawl when he's playing his park character, but it's not his real accent and he drops it at other times, kind of like how Dolores sometimes does or doesn't use her "rancher's daughter" accent when she's being Wyatt in season 2. Uh… Total nerd, at heart, seeing as "all he had as a kid were books." (I kind of suspect that childhood memory might not have been totally real, by the way… made a post about that recently that's a little ways down in my tag if you're interested.)

How do you come up with concepts/find Inspiration for projects like your ch3?

Warning - I got overexcited and started info-dumping and ended writing a LOT and I don't ever know if it's helpful so uhhhh sorry about that! This is long...

Thank you for the question :) Creating original characters has been my passion for way over a decade so tbh I don't really think about it too much, it kind of just happens

Characters end up living in my head and doing their own thing and I have no choice but to watch and document it LOL jkjk

But yeah, for chapter 3 I've literally only made Mike and Host and have hardly developed anything around the TV World aside from the stuff that I have shared and the backstory of those two

I guess I could share my thought process when I was first making them? I don't know if that would help, but I do enjoy sharing stuff like that ^^

I'll start by saying that I never wanted to make a Mike design because I knew from the start that I'd become extremely attached, and lo and behold, that's exactly what happened hahaha

Host was never a character in the earlier concepts, I'm writing my fic "To Give You Heaven", and while "Mike" has been mentioned in my other fics as kind of like a vague evil entity that torments Spamton's memories, for the Heaven fic, I wanted to focus more on the relationship between the two.

And in order to have that, "Mike" needed to actually be a character rather than just an evil voice just so their relationship actually had anything to it.

I've never been good at writing villains, every time I write a mean villain-esce thing, it never feels natural to me, and I do admit that that is the reason why Mike (And Host) turned out to be a lot more morally grey than most other interpretations I've seen ;;

aNYWAY, THE DESIGN UHHH

Host was never meant to be a character I actually started writing Mike in the fic before I tried to draw him, and initially him and Host were the same entity.

I was mixed about it because everything in the game points to Mike being the TV character but I kept thinking about how "Mike" is most likely a pun for "Mic/Microphone" and I had seen some fan designs already that interpreted him as a microphone so I was really into that idea, but I also liked the TV Head idea so I started with them being the same character, so it was just Mike commanding this empty husk of a TV Head, who was also him???

Or he was a microphone built into the TV Head's body?? They both had the pink and yellow eyes at some point, and they'd move in sync, but that kind of went nowhere.

Then that whole thing kind of started developing into the whole parasite/host idea, and the TV Head got the placeholder name of "TV Host" (Because haha pun) and then just "Host" and then slowly became their own entity so that's how they came into the picture.

But having not one but two characters talking to Spamton at the same time would kind of felt weird and the relationship Host originally had with Mike was also a lot more hostile, so I ended up making them mute.

Host's connection with Gaster also came from their whole sign language thing and how it hints at that "Beware of the man who speaks in hands" phrase. Host's initial concept also had holes on the hands, but that got scrapped because it felt a bit too on the nose LOL

Side-note, but Host's concept of the floating sign language hands is actually a recycled idea from an AU version of another unrelated OC of mine, I wasn't doing anything with said AU OC, but I liked that part of the design so I wanted to reuse that.

My thought process is all over the place rn, but yeah the main idea for them was just me being stubborn and not wanting to make a TV Head Mike, but still wanting to have fun with that expectation.

Basically I just wanted people to go "Wait, Mike's the microphone???" Which I think is really funny I kind of expected people to not really care much about Host because of this, but the reception to them has been so positive, I'm really surprised ^^

I'm a sucker for characters who are "opposites attract", so you'll probably find a lot of that in them Talks a lot vs Can't talk at all, Extrovert vs Introvert, Short vs Tall, Aggressive vs Calm

But I also wanted to have parallels with Spamton! And I really liked the idea of Spamton being "manipulated" by Mike, who ironically is not only smaller than he is, but physically powerless to do anything on his own.

I think I mentioned it on Twitter but I'm not sure if I did here, Mike and Host are also inspired on the Swatch/Spamton and Seam/Jevil dynamics, where it's just "weird little guy" and "emotional support non-binary shopkeeper" LOL whichhhhh built the expectation of Mike being a secret boss, but I wanted to be stubborn so I said "Uhm actually it's Host" because they're the one with the Gaster connection and between them and Mike, they're the one who's more prone to getting manipulated by someone with bad intentions, Mike kind of ends up protecting them in that aspect

Hosts' Design hmm Their design was based on the TV Sprite from the end of Chapter 2, and their blue tone was originally colour picked from the sprite itself, I couldn't decide what their eyes would look like so I didn't give them any, and even though it's not present on the sprite, I gave them the colour bar mouth anyway (Omega Host has the normal non-coloured teeth similar to the sprite, because that inconsistency bothers me a lot haha)

As I mentioned above, the floaty hand idea is recycled from an older OC, and also because I couldn't figure out what their arms looked like so I didn't give them any.

Their shoulders are inspired on those bulky square camera heads, with the green part being the camera len, but they're so stylized so I'm not sure that part of the design actually translates too well. I based their body on a TV remote, couldn't decide on a leg design so I just made them solid blue as well.

Tailcoats are kind of a weird staple of my designs so the addition of it is just a design clutch, but also an excuse for me to repeat the colour bar pattern haha

I should have mention that the green on their design is the same green from the Spamton NEO's strings, I kind of wanted the green to kind of symbolize "connection" of some sort, which is why I added it to the shoulders and wrists, but also Mike's cord.

Mike's Design He's literally a microphone with eyes and funny face, what do you want me to say LOL He was inspired on the smiling face that you see when you go to the basement, but at some point I inverted the order of his eye colour and I forgot to fix it so his eyes are the same as Spamton's glasses Back on the opposites talk, while Host has no eyes, Mike is literally a goofy face slapped on a mic, he's so tiny that I had to make his eyes and mouth huge to make up for it

He's inspired on one of those metal retro microphones because I wanted to imply that he was older with a vintage ish look (He's like on his 50s), and I think his silver colour ended up adding to that because I personally associate the silver with older people, but also him being shiny kind of helped give him an important look I guess?? I'm not sure if that comparison makes any sense.

Him and Host also have the cute matching bowties because of the TV presenter vibes, Mike's green cord is because of the Spamton/Sneo connection and hhhhh Yeah that's all there is to it really On his own, he's literally just a microphone so he looks best when together with Host,,

I don't know what I say about Mike's design with the body, he's very simple. Asymmetric suit to match his eyes, pink and white because I felt like the yellow would be too much, and the cord actually being his tail is kind of a funny gag,,, Because I imagine he tries to act very intimidating when he's just a mic, but then when he gets his body fixed, others find out that the cord was a tail and paired with how tiny he is, it just makes him weirdly cute and I don't know, it's just a cute interaction hahaha

But yeah, I'm not sure if this helped in anyway or if I completely missed the point of the question ;v; My process is just throwing stuff at the wall until it sticks and just work from there, and also not worry too much about getting characters perfect in one go because the development is gradual??? im also genuinely curious about something in your writing. why do you intentionally write mikasa in such a mean way? its no secret that you dont like her, but i keep thinking it would just be easier to not write her at all, no? especially if its just going to be mean things? i started reading the spiderman au but stopped because i just felt so baaad lol my girl would never do that 😂 (so anyways i guess this means onto the zombie au i go)

also im outing myself as a long-time follower for this but i remember you said at one point you had been writing for many years and some anons from your previous fandom found you. did you ever want to be an author at some point? :)

oh, honey, I'm so sorry you felt that way about the way I wrote Mikasa 😭 Honestly, though, it's really not my intention to write her in such a bad light. In The Last Song for example, I could've written her as the true villain who tried to steal eren away from Y/N but I didn't. I even wrote 4k worth of her backstory (which I don't have to as TLS isn't about her) to make my readers feel bad for her and understand why she was obsessed with him in the first place, because a lot of that was also Eren's fault, not just hers.

As for mikasa in my spider-girl AU, I was really just trying to be funny but I can see why it seems like it was too much. I just thought it was such a funny joke when I found it on twitter and since Mikasa is a canon goth girl in high school caste, I thought the voodoo joke would suit her better than any other canon characters. if Annie or Historia was the goth girl, I would've made them do that instead.

and yes, i don't like how her character is written in canon but i have no hatred toward her in my fics. i made her a princess in my knight au fic, i made her backstory sad enough for my readers to sympathize for her in TLS. it's just my spider-girl au is a bit comedic, and you don't really have to take anything seriously. I do this with other characters too, not just mikasa. for example, in chapter 2, I made historia say something like this:

lmaooo i'm not gonna try to be an author cause i know my writing style isn't for everyone (even right now it's already problematic and i receive plenty of hate messages because of it). ok the the first one is Royalty AU

first things first, when I say Royalty AU, I don't mean the classic shit we've all become accustomed to. Im talking about the good old Chinese royalty! And I want to emphasize that these guys will/should be dressed in century appropriate attire. As someone thats read a handful of 'marinette, princess of china' fics from the ML Fandom, I've noticed a common trend. Marinette wouldn't be in the culturally appropriate clothes, always ballgowns. Not that there's something wrong with it, its just most of if not all these fic are set in China, so I'd expect Chinese royalty to dress as THERE dress code calls for. And since this AU takes place far in the past like, it won't make sense for any of the characters to be in royal clothing that wasn't from there region. I'm not trying to white knight/gatekeeping. Im Guyanese not Chinese. But since JTTW and Monkie Kid take place in China, it's only right. In my opinion that it. You don't have to outright agree with me.

With out of the way, it's time for that good old AU crack

- Wukong is the king of the Flower Fruit kingdom(or a different one if you'd like, again I'm only familiar with what western culture has taught me, but I'll try my hardest) 

- he’s single but rumor has it he used to/still is dating the Vigilante/thief The Six Eared Macaque

- *chants ShadowPeach violently* 

- no one know whether it true or not

- On of his wanders around the kingdom he finds an abandoned baby in a basket. 

- and no shit sherlock it's fucking baby Xiaotian 

- I think we all know where this is going because i'm a simp for Monkey Dad & Monkie Son shenanigans

- Xiaotian becomes prince

Shit, ill be referring to Xiaotian as Mk from now on, I mentioned this before in a fic I wrote for lmk that Mk's a nickname for Xiaotian for some reason- wait i don't have to explain my self to you people!

- Sun loves his son

- MK is treated differently by staff and others because he's not blood related to the king

- no one mistreats MK per say, because there King loved his adopted son, but words are said behind his back

- Sometimes MK hears what’s said, and he feels as if he won't live up to his dad’s legacy.

- He meets Mei during a festival

- Mei is from a noble family, that wouldn't mind if they got a connection into the royal family.

- but it becomes hella clear to Mei’s family very fast that the two are just friends, and will always will be. but hey there daughter is bffs with the prince so that's a plus.

- It's a common misconception that DBK is a tyrant, when he’s not.

- they have been at war with the Monkey King for some time now and settled for a peace agreement.

- MK and Red Son are roughly the same age, Mk being 20 and RS 22

- RS is revolted/disgusted at the idea of being wed to the Monkey Kings child, even more so when he realizes MK is adopted,

- but, that all changes the second he meets MK while he meets him by accident when he gets kinda lost in the palace when he and his parents go to discuss the arrangements.

- the second he looks at MK, he's instantly in love. MK less so, he's nervous and honestly kinda bummed he's not marrying someone he loves but it's for the good of his ppl, and he'll do anything for them.

- RS isn't even aware that MK is Suns adopted son until MK walks him back to the meeting room.

"Oh There you are MK! I was about to have a servant go fetch you!" Sun Wukong says, gesturing for his boy to come sit with him.

"S-sorry for keeping you waiting I got caught up in my lessons with Mr. Tang" MK responds, sitting next to his father. Red Son looked gobsmacked. The beautiful young man he had bumped into, was the prince of this land? Damn, life truly blessed him. Or cursed him depending on how you looked at it.

- the two are left alone in a separate room for a while.

- And MK straight up tells RS why he's agreeing to this union.

"Look Red Son. I've dreamed about meeting my one true love for a while. And I would give almost anything for that dram to be real. But I wouldn't ever dare give up my people, for as there price they mean more to me. I'm doing this for them, no other reason" MK says, his back straight and hands folded neatly in his lap. The look in his eyes was a mix of sadness, but that was drowned out by loyalty and determination. It just made Red Son fall for him even harder. Clearing his throat Red spoke.

"I understand, for im doing this for the betterment of my people to. But I propose a wager"

"A wager?"

"Yes, if i can make you fall in love with me by years end, before our marriage, we can live together like in the fairy tales from far away. But if I fail, in a years time afterwards you will be permitted to find your own path in life" Red Son stated. MK took a moment to process what was happening.

"So, if you succeed in making me fall in love with you, before our marriage we can live happily ever after?" Red Son nodded in response, letting the younger continue.

"And if I shouldn't fall for you, in a years time after our union, im free to leave?" Red Son nodded once more.

"So, what do you say?"

...

"Deal"

In the end, your free to choose their fate, should Red Son win the hart of Mk? Will he fail? Or will he let him go, and let him travel the country, after all Mk's a free spirit and keeping him trapped in a big house is like keeping a cannery trapped in a cage only for its song, only for it to dul. Or will the unthinkable happen and will both boys find their freedom? together or appart? I don't know, because that's all up to you 😉

personally, I’m partial to where MK and Red Son both find freedom together. Like they straight up run away together to somewhere far away and just live out there lives together. 

this could also be genderbent thing as well. MK or Red as their respective counterparts. Again it doesn't have to be, but it’s whatever bro. im just spitting out the idea. 

Also, there is a main side plot that they fight the WBS throughout the year as well, along with other shenanigans you wanna throw in.

The second is a My Hero Academia/BNH/MHA AU

truth be told i'm not a big fan of MHA i think it to over hyped(this is also coming from the same person that’s a Fairy Tail fan lol), and the fandom i don't even know how to describe that mess, but I will admit not the whole of its toxic since every fandom has some toxic members, some even more so. 

I just sometimes find myself enjoying MHA AUs like the Fullmetal Alchemist, Danny Phantom, Evil!Deuk AU and several others. 

to make it clear I don't see this AU taking place the same time as the main plot of the actual Anime/Manga. This could be either like 6-10 years before or after the plot idk bro. But i’ll do this after the main story plot of MHA, so keep that in mind ya? another thing, the gang is still in China, the top hero school in the world just so happens to be in Japan, and it’s only ever mentioned by Sun wukong and other pro heros. So MK never attended AU. in short it’s only ever mention/ reference.

- Mk was considered Quirkless as a kid. 

- he was just a late blumer, i swear  

- Mai’s Quirk is called Dragon. 

- it pretty much works the same way as it does in the show(duh)

- Tang’s got a knowledge Quirk, 

- my man can retain information and he’s basically an archive of information drawback being his personality lol 

- Piggsy is a Animal that gained a Quirk

- in cannon to my current knowledge, there are two other characters that can confirm animals can become sentient. the characters being Fumikage Tokoyami, & Nezu the principal at the school UA.  

- Sandy is just Conner Kent, aka he like superman but can't fly, or shoot lasers from his eyes. And blue.  

I have two scenarios for Macaque and Wukong  

*- The first one is that, Sun Wukong & Macaque are brothers. twins to be exact. 

- they where legit people, but have mutation quirks that made them too like monkeys. 

- the added powers were just a boues. 

- Sun and Mac are close growing up, like there brothers but also best friends.

- the draw back to there quirks could honestly be whatever you want bro idk, same with the others tbh. Personally I like to think Sun just has lack of motivation, and Macaque needs to draw on other people's energy.

- Sun is a hero, Monkey KIng and Mac is a villain Six Eared.

- Sun was always treated has the golden child in the family, Mac always resented that, but there shitty up bring didn’t stop the two from being good brothers to one another.

- soon tho the resentment became hatred when Sun was able to attend UA in Japan, while Mac didn't.

- Mac be angy 

- so he became a villain, and joined the Chinese branch of the LOV(league of villains)

- Sun doesn't know this till he finds out during the all out war during the main story. and by that time he’s a full on hero with is own agency(The Flower Fruit agency)    

- when the hero's ultimately win and Mac is arrested 

- This ultimately hurts Sun a lot, his brother was in jail now, arrested for his involvement and wrong doings, he knew nothing about this! this brother, his blood. A bad guy? why? he hadn't seen his brother since he left for UA, he hadn’t seen him when he came home, and started his agency. 

- this just puts Sun into a funk so he’s not as active as he used to be, and he starts thinking he might need a successor 

*- The second one is that they were two separate people that had similar quirks and both attended UA but Sun ended up in the hero corse. so 1A.

- Both Macaque and Sun have similar quirks, Sun’s is obviously more light based while Macaque’s is more shadow based(this applies to the first one as well)    

- Macaque was placed in class 1B, U.A.’s High's Heroics Department, I believe, you can correct me. 

- In cannon Class 1A and 1B both went to the training camp. I can see the teachers pinning Sun and Macaque against each other to hone their skills. 

- And because of that they become great friends    

- In fact when they graduate they both co-found there hero agency together in China and are a duo.

- But due to Monkey King’s popularity and Six Eared's association with shadows(people sometimes saying he has more of a villains quirk than a heros) the public see’s Macaque as Sun’s sidekick when thats far from the truth. 

- now it’s up to you whether you think that Wukong and Macaque would be in a relationship together, but knowing how cooked we all are, ShadowPeach is a thing here more than likely. 

- If you do or don’t support/ like the ShadowPeach aspect, the two would be living together regardless since its more cost efficient. 

- They my be heroes but living costs are expensive!   

- I would imagine there would have been a huge fight/argument between the two in privet of course, at there home.(or in there shared office if you want the extra angst of the other people they work with hearing them fight)   

- If the two are dating, then this would either lead to an out right breakup, or Macaque just up and leaving with Wukong thinking he’ll come back once he’s cooled off. But after a week, with no sign of his partner, or him answering texts or calls, not even coming into work. Wukong gets worried that something might have happened to him. so there wouldn't be a confirmation if they were still a thing or not. 

- But Wukong remains hopeful, despite the nagging at the back of his head, and gut telling him to go find Macaque, or atleast make a public statement, or even just tell another pro hero about it.   

- on the not so shippy side, Macaque and Wukong still have there argument, and much like the ShadowPeach esc side, Macaque up and leaves, and isn't seen for weeks. the only difference here is that when Wukong comes home one night to there flat, most if not all of Macaques stuff is gone. 

- where as if this was the ShadowPeach side, Macaque leaves all of his possession in the flat he and wukong share. for the simple reason being, he still loves him and wants to go back, but Macaque being Macaque can’t bring himself to do it, especially after seeing just how hurt Wukong looked when he yelled at him just before he left.  

- in other words, ANGST DIALED UP TO A 10 BABY  

- in either case, its a news report that confirms Wukong's suspicions that he desperately didn’t want to believe, and that is Macaque turning into a villain.

- much like if the two were brothers, Wukong just can’t take it and is no longer as active as he once was, and is thinking about, either A) Retirement  B) Saying, “Fuck Society, Be Gay Do Crime” and join Macaque as a villain himself, or C) find a successor, and a way to bring Macaque back to there side, but most importantly, back to him.    

- also extra points if you're after people's hearts and want to make them suffer;  - If there dating, Wukong curle’s up in the bed he and Macaque shared, holding/wearing something of great value to Macaque and just crying himself to sleep, where as Macaque is getting wasted on alcohol, as he stumbles out of the bar he’s in, he either see’s something that reminds him of Wukong or while he’s trying to put his wallet back into his pocket, a photo of them on their first date fall’s out. and Macaque just cries in a nearby alley way. And it’s there where he gets indoctrinated into the League.

       - If there just friends, macaque heads to the nearest forest and just levels it, where as Wukong just gets engrossed into his work, trying not to think about it. you could add you own spin on this, again i'm just spitballing.             

- NOW BACK TO MK! :D     

- Obviously MK is a huge Monkey King fan     

- at Twenty MK has come to terms he's quirkless (HE’S NOT)

-for ANGST reasons MKs fokes kicked him out at this realization at 13.

- he works at Piggsy's Noodle shop, and has been since he was 14.

- don't need a quirk to drive or cook!

- the boy lives a content life with his new family, till DBK happens :D

- DBK runs a Mafia(in conjunction with TLOV) and has been in jail for like 5 years thanks to Monkey King, PIF and RS brake him out one night when MK's out making a late night delivery since Piggsy had the bright idea to go 24/7 service!

- one thing leads to another and Mk somehow manifest what looks like the Monkey King's staff, but its not, it’s MKs powers, it just so happens to be the same power the Monkey King has. And it practically goes down the same way in the pilot. 

- but unlike the pilot Mk and Mei go straight to the FF Agency, after making a panicked call to Pigsy and Tang.

- one way or another Mk are lead into Wukongs office. Mei being forced to stay in the lobby.

- they have there convo, butterfly monkey squishing included.

- "And so, I want you do be my success-" BOOM 💥

- from there they rush downstairs and see that the lobby has been infiltrated by the DB fam, and you know fight.

- once the DB family seems like there down, PIF wisks them away. Much to Monkey King’s displeasure.

From there stuff kind plays out like cannon, the calabash ep is just a conjoint quirk the Demon bros have. As for EP9, ill have to script that one out myself lol. I'll get onto it as soon as my will to commit stabs me in the face. Till then have a dancing Kermit the frog.

Now if you'll excuse me, am about to Kermit a felony :D

6. What does your portfolio look like? Talk about as many other WIPs as you’d like here.

I have to be honest here, I never understood portfolio. I mean u understand what it is and its purpose but I never understood how to make it for myself.

But either way I guess I do have certain things I worked on.

Starting of with Collection.

1. Collection: Story 1: Mirror Defect: (DONE) (Sorry no cover)

Not all is as it seems.

Not all can be explained and even when the truth is out not everything will make sense.

"I just lost my brother, I can't lose her."

What can you do when you lose trust in those around you? When grief holds you too close?

When lies are hidden all around you?

When nothing is real?

Can you trust your own eyes? When all goes wrong who can you trust?

"Experitment 1034, you are next"

Is anything real? Are you real?

The story was originally done to scare my uncle. I was going to send him this other story, which R.L. Stine wibe to it but sadly I lost it.

So here we are. Now this story features Mark, who despite all that has occurred, is trying to fix his broken family, even if it means destrying himself but is this family real?

2. So, A Deal?: (DONE)

Met with death she has no choice but to let death consume her.

"No, I can't leave like this! Not like this."

There is no other way, or is there? But is she ready?

"What do you want? Does your soul not fill with rage, anger and despair? Pushing you to the core of vengeance? Don't you feel like a ghost? Dreading you will disappear? You know you are nothing but a ghost, and eventually, you will have to fade."

"I have seen the face of affliction brought by my reality, I'm tortured by the future of things that cannot be, haunted by visions of yesterday."

Her sin is great, but her desire greater. Will she survive the burn?

This was something I did for my school wrok once. Although it is quite different than the original work. I'm quite happy with the last chapter. I honestly just posted it out as a test to see if others would like it.

It took quite an effort and I enjoyed doing the last bit of it. I really want to make a sequal to it, get it going, but not really sure if this is going to go well.

A lot can happen during a lifetime, faultless rotating to flaws, heroes into villains, a lifetime of destruction smiling in your wakes.

A lot can be lost in a lifetime.

"And so she has finally awoken."

I had done this for a story contest once, sadly I was unable to win. But I have to behonest, if I had I would have been so annoyed, it was awful, so awful. I won't talk much on it, as I still don't like this too much.

This feature elemtnal magic and time twist you can say, where a character, reborn must choose to either repeat history or change it completely.

4. Pirates tale: (WIPs)

Had this in for a while, been working on it but didn't have a plot till now.

The ship has no name, no crew, nothing. But if you see it, it's already too late.

Legend says they're ghost, some say they are cursed, others....... others don't live to tell the tale.

It was inspired by a prompt I saw once. Hoping to make these pirates cured to be vampires, hidden from all and only visible at night. They are insearch of their first crew captain, the one who must break the cures. Problem is, Captian dies 30 years ago.

Guess, his hidden daughter must be placed instead.

This is dumb, so dumb, but hey, I'll work on it.

5. The Basement: (WIPs)

Another school work.

This one feartures students sneaking into their school's basement. Each with their own story on why the basement is forbbiden.

If only they had listened and not followed through, then maybe they would not have encountered, the hidden dark past of the school.

This has a gay couple, lol I actaully send it to my teacher but I don't think she noticed :(. It needs alot of work though, so this may take a while.

6. To find the Truth: (WIPs)

This one seems to be liked a lot by you guys. Many seem intrigued.

In the dystopian future, when the world government collapsed, when humans fell and the virus took hold, out rose a series of mutants. Their genes mutated by the virus released when a power plant went nuclear.

These mutants, blessed with powers beyond their control, have taken leadership. Smart, strong, powerful and undefeatable. They hold power over the weak like you and me. But I won't let them stop me. I won't let them come in the way.

They are sloppy, weak and useless. The world is filled with criminals, danger and people in need. This world needs justice, it needs help and they won't help, so I will.

"They'll take you away. They take people like them away"

"I won't let them"

I worked up a lot on this in the past few day and have actually most of the plot down. Well the main chracter's backstory at least, even how the virus started and why these mutants have taken over.

I just need to start it out and get it going. I have done that and I was thinking of adding bits and pieces on how the world is after every sub-story, like telling the tale as the story progress.

Was also hoping to give this story, a big reveal as to who these mutants are and how they came to be, why they take other's like them and how they find other's like them.

7. To Sacrifice or To Live? (WIPs)

Still working up on the name here, but the story goes like this.

Two wedding decades a part, each holding nothing but tale forgotten.

An evil entity hanting them both. A power over both familes, readdy to demolish them whole this time.

Will the scarifice work?

Ok, before you turn away, here me out here.

Two weddings, one in the 1900s and the other in 2000s. Both familes trapped in a curse long active, each must work to find a way to break the curse. One failed, made it worse, will the new bride make it? Or will she suffer worse?

8. Collection: Haunting Memories (WIPs)

Jenny doesn't know how she did it but she did. She didn't mean to. She really didn't. But Nina is dead now and it's her fault. She did it.

It's her fault.

Then why do they blame Jake? Jake is sweet, kind and caring. Sure he was the one with the blade, covered in blood and coming to kill Jenny next but it wasn't Jake. Because she saw.

Saw him kill her. Push the blade through Nina, watching as the girl fell. Her blood turning the ground crimson. She saw as the life left Nina's eyes. As the killer slumped to the ground, the control over him wearing off.

Jenny knows because she killed Nina. Then why does no one believe her? And why do her memories differ from Jake's?

“I am telling you what happened.”

“All you are doing is wasting our time.”

“Then be patient, this is all I have. Please just hear me out.”

“We are busy people here. We don’t have time for stupid tales, girl”

“This is not a stupid tale. If you could just listen.”

“We are listening. Listening to you for the past 10 minutes, all you have done so far is tell us useless things. We have things to do.”

“Everything I mention is important. One thing missed and you won’t understand. Please. I need your help.”

This I hope to work and get done by at least in the next month. It need a lot of work and must be quite slow yet fast paced. I need to make the plot a bit more than just what I have written.

7. What kind of partnership are you looking for in this event? Friendship? Somebody to bounce ideas off of? Something else? What sorts of people are you hoping to meet and adopt?

Honeslty, I did a lot of research in the past few days and boy do I ned a lot of work done.

For starters, I need someone who can actually tell me how my work is going, just how kuch of an effort I have out in and how it seems to others.

I need harsh, quite harsh feed back so I know what I am doing wrong, what I should improve with and what interests the reader about the book.

I also say wish to meet and know other writers here. Would love to meet them and get to know them.

(1) yknow what fuck it I usually don't send asks off anon because of anxiety but I've been wanting to ask this for a while and I'm just overall too lazy to try and find a post about it (even though I bet there are multiple)- I've been wanting to start watching HermitCraft and I hear a lot about the story and it seems interesting and I enjoy the fanart I see occasionally but whenever I go look at it I get intimidated by the length of the videos and how many episodes there seem to be per season.

Oh yeah, the episodes and the sheer number of hermits intimidated me at first too! Don’t worry, we all feel that lol.

Abxhwjdja I actually started by watching Grian’s POV in Season 6 so I don’t know much about previous seasons, sorry. Grian joined in Season 6 and since then he has been actively involved in server-wide events. This is probably why a lot of people recommend him. For Hermitcraft, seasons are generally separate from one another. Occasionally there are references to old seasons, but it’s mostly Easter eggs and “blink or you’ll miss it” moments. Organisations such as NHO (New Hermit Order formed by Doc, Bdubs, Etho, Beef) and Ren’s Big Logz Company (log shop) sometimes carry onto the next seasons, but again, it’s not necessary know the background. So it’s definitely okay to watch new seasons without watching old ones.

For the “main” POV, there’s no main POV... Some hermits collab more, some don’t. Some hermits are more involved in server wide events, some don’t.

I generally recommend Grian (S6/S7) for a newcomer. Grian’s new to Hermitcraft in Season 6, so you can learn about the other hermits with him. Grian’s also very involved in and starts events such as the S6 Prank War, Area 77 (Area 51 parody) VS Hippies and Demise (a “how long you can go without dying” game but edgy). For S7, he started the Mayoral Race and Mycelium Resistance against the Mayor (the current storyline). I also recommend Docm77’s POV for S6 and early S7 (since he went on hiatus in S7). Doc acts as Grian’s “nemesis” since they go against each other in about everything lol. Doc is very dramatic and villain-like, if that’s your cup of tea.

I also think it’s worth mentioning that Hermitcraft isn’t all story. Generally hermits spend around half of their episode doing their projects (redstone, minigames, builds), and half for plot if they’re involved in it. Hence I also recommend GoodTimesWithScar and Rendog, two fantastic builders who incorporate their own lore into their builds.

Scar’s actively involved in server wide plot as well (he’s part of Area 77 storyline and one half of the megacorporation ConCorp in S6, and he’s the mayor in S7), but he also has his own lore of magical villages and gigantic drills. His builds are very detailed and he weaves a story for each one of them even if they don’t make it to server wide storylines.

Ren is similar, except he isn’t as involved in server wide stuff. Ren has like 8364829 personas— a hippie, mad scientist, Star Wars character, disgruntled cowboy— yeah. Ren also weaves a story for his builds and machines. For example, most hermits would say “I’m gonna build an squid farm”. But Ren would say “I’m gonna build an oil refinery that is actually a squid farm because squid ink looks like oil in Minecraft. And I’m building an oil refinery because it fits the storyline at my industrial-vibes area.”

But these are just my recommendations! You can try out the flowchart and the Hermit Picker 9000. You can also try watching the Hermitcraft Recap and see which hermit’s style you like the most. Also don’t feel pressured to watch all hermits! I know some Hermitcraft fans don’t like it when people only watch one hermit, but I think it can really be overwhelming for newcomers to watch multiple POVs. Hope you have a good time! :D

Thank you soo much for the Gumiho!Lee Soo Hyuk fic it is really good, unique and very on theme with Halloween so it's good that it was so intense it was terrifying and sweet all at once XD I love the suspense of not knowing if he will eat oc or not but also the contrast of him being so gentle and whipped but also wanting to devour her. You captured such a unique atmosphere it's all at once exactly what I hoped for and still better and surprising that you were able to combine the sweetness and real danger without it leaning too much in either direction. I really enjoyed it. I hope you've been well. It feels like it's been so long T.T I've been so busy with uni and life that I didn't find a peaceful moment to read it so I kept reading it paragraph by paragraph. I only had free time to sleep basically. But it made me cherish and savor it so that is good. I still re-read it properly from beginning to end when I had enough down time and had some peace. It's such a treat Author-nim Thank you so much you created something really special. It was really so immersive I was shuddering and getting tingles along with the oc. You are so good at capturing the scene without it being overbearing but it adding to the emotions of the characters. It feels like this should be a movie you created such interesting characters here. 10/10 Job well done.

Niragi is truly horrifying and traumatizing in Alice in Borderland, Chishiya is so cool really and smart he really catches your attention despite being so quiet. My favorite characters are Kuina and Usagi I just think they are such cool, strong and brave people who have had to overcome a lot and deal with such pain due to family but still came out stronger. So, I really admired them and was rooting for them also Kuina is so adorable in a badass way, and I love her dynamic with Chishiya same as I love the teamwork between Usagi and Arisu. I didn't want to continue reading the manga because I want to watch the series' first.

For AHS my favorite seasons in order are Coven, Murder House and Asylum. I adored coven such much that I don't have a favorite character I love everything about it and all the characters are my favorite in one way or another really, I can't pick my most favorite one I enjoyed them all good and bad. The actresses and actors really killed it in this season. I can't stand musical episodes in series, but I loved even the Stevie Nicks episode(s) and singing. My favorite Characters are Violet and Tate (yes even though he is unstable and partially evil) I just think he is an interesting character. Lana Winters and Kit Walker and Sister Jude (even though she was horrible she was also so interesting and fascinating to watch). I think you can tell I love the obvious tragic or tortured heroes/protagonists and the insane/evil but human villain characters.

My favorite Horror is kind of hard to pick because I love horror in general, but I'd say things like Paranormal Activity (one of the first real Horror movies I watched it traumatized me and i got obsessed with it lol), Scream (#BESTFinalGirl), Cabin in the Woods, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Haunting of Hill House, Resident Evil, Escape Room, Freaky, Happy Death Day, Truth or Dare, #Alive (its korean), Train to Busan, Ready or Not, Us, Fright Night. That's a lot sorry. I basically like the final girl type of horror of fighting and outsmarting the big bad or horror troupes put on their heads or zombies and horror comedy or suspense/mystery and horror.

Sorry for responding a little late but I've been visiting family so I had little time for anything else haha. But I'm really glad you enjoyed the fic! It was so much fun to write it as well, I was just worried it'd be too horror-ish so I'm glad that you find it well-balanced! Honestly I keep thinking about the fic and Gumiho!LSH so I might write some more stories about this AU in the future. I really want to explore those characters a little more, if that makes sense? Anyway, hopefully I'll have the opportunity to write some more.

And no worries! I was busy myself and uni can be hard~ I'll soon have to focus on some school work as well, and since I should be all done with uni in a few months, it's a little scary. I feel like I should've cherished it more? Maybe I'm just in a sentimental mood lol.

Yeah! Chishiya matches my type really well, I love characters who are so intelligent that they seem almost alien to humans? Something like that. Oh and Kuina was so sweet!! I loved her, she's very cute indeed! Yeah, the interactions and dynamics between the characters were so cool and fun to watch! I can't wait for the second season and what's gonna happen next!

Coven was such an interesting season! You're right, all the characters were great and I was surprised too that I didn't mind the Steve Nicks episode(s). Asylum was also really good, but I was kind of thrown off by the alien stuff, it seemed like it could've been incorporated better but it was quite exciting otherwise! Honestly, those kinds of characters you mention are one of the best ones! I love them too, even if I then keep whining about wanting a nice life for them lmao.

I was so traumatized by Paranormal Activity! Still am I guess, I'm really bad with dealing with that kind of horror even if I enjoy watching it, I don't know why. Final girls are such a concept!! There's something so satisfying about it when it's done well. And ofc, outsmarting the antagonist… my beloved ♡ Also thank you for the movie reccs! I haven't seen some of the movies so I'll check them out if I get into the spooky season mood haha.
