It's Not Living (If It's Not With You) | JJK (PART 2)
Tumblr media
At thirty-two, you thought you had your life figured out. That is until you received a call one day:
"You need to go to Gangwon Police Station now. There are two people here: One thirty-something male claiming to be your husband, and the other is a three-year-old girl claiming to be your daughter. They say they won't leave unless you, the mom of the family, pick them up."
Or alternatively,
a series of events where you fall in love with Jungkook, become a mom, solve your dead best friend's case, and wriggle out of old money's grasp, but not necessarily in this order. (Maybe all at once. Who knows?)
Genre and warnings: enemies to lovers, idiots in love, mutual pining, OMG there is only one bed, forced proximity, cohabitating, enemies to friends to lovers, co-parenting, angst, fluff, implied smut, kissing, minor character death, slight getting back together, car accidents, law, this fic is originally written as an AOT au, but i've changed it to a JJK one, so please pardon any Japanese terms mentioned (they're not too relevant anyway) some of the characters are from aot too. i'm too lazy to change them haha
Pairing: Police Lieutenant! Jungkook x Lawyer!!Reader
PART 1 HERE
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
You thought kissing Jungkook felt like coming home. Unfortunately, you never had one. If you did, it was only temporary, and the house was not yours.
You were just leasing it.
After the trip, you and Jungkook did not dare talk about what happened in the mountain. You ignored his attempt at a dialogue and made an excuse that you were busy with work.
Younger Jungkook would have exploded, but he was from that or even from the Jungkook you knew last month. He grew to be more understanding and less provoking.
Admittedly, he felt guilty for kissing you. Because as much as he painfullycraved it, he couldn't say the same thing for you.
If you liked it, then why were you hiding from him? Why were you going back and forth to Busan and Seoul these days?
Why were you...leaving him again?
"Where are you going?" Jungkook's eyes twitched when he saw you carrying a big bag. It had been two weeks since the family trip ended. He knew it was unfair of him to demand you move onif you truly hated it, but seeing you go as far as leaving him and Hanni behind made him feel dejected.
"Just out." You replied curtly, not bothering to look at him while you put on your sneakers. Jungkook's first instinct was to go near you and help you tie your shoelace. You were already this old, yet you still couldn't wear your shoes properly.
"Will you be back soon?" Jungkook stayed rooted in his spot; his puppy eyes went unnoticed by you.
"Not sure yet. You'll pick up Hanni from the daycare, right? Then, I'll leave everything to you. Bye." You were out of the door before Jungkook could reply to you. You did not lie to him this time. You were unsure as to what time you'd be back.
You were going to the Jeon's residence today. Jungkook's mother had been cajoling you to visit her. She said it would be better if you went alone since bringing Jungkook with you would just ruin her mood. Jungkook never gave his mother a breather. He always dissuaded her from eating the food she liked and moving around the house a lot. He said she should sit prettily on the couch and not worry about anything. How was that even possible? Jungkook's mother disliked being idle, so she told you to bring a big bag as she intended to pick some produce with you in her garden.
The drive to Jeon's residence took fifteen minutes. You deliberated going to your family's house first, but you remembered no one lived there anymore. Your parents had long since migrated abroad.
Besides, you'd rather deal with a bubbly lady than your easily irritated mother. Mrs. Jeon welcomed you happily.
"Daughter-in-law!" The old woman excitedly raised her arms to embrace you. You flashed a smile at Mrs. Jeon, crouching down so you could hug her.
Mrs. Jeon was in a wheelchair. She had a hard time walking after her leg surgery years ago. This was why Jungkook still lived with his mother despite being in his early thirties. He was simply being a filial son. He didn't trust his father to be responsible enough to care for his sickly mother.
But things changed when Sora died. Mrs. Jeon convinced Jungkook to move in with you. She said she could handle herself and even agreed to have a caregiver look after her. Mrs. Jeon liked you since you were a child. She said you were the only one who could keep Jungkook grounded. You never really understood what she meant by this. You didn't ask, either. One of the perks of this was that you and Jungkook didn't have a hard time explaining your fake romantic engagement to her. Mrs. Jeon had been calling you daughter-in-lawas long as you could remember. For her, what you and Jungkook had was real. She wouldn't believe otherwise.
"Hi, mum." You humored the old lady. Her smile stretched when you called her mother. She peppered your cheeks with kisses.
"Perfect timing! Frieda and Kiyomi just left. The soup I made is still hot. Come, I'll ladle some for you." Mrs. Jeon pushed the wheelchair herself. You quickly caught up to her and helped.
"The social workers have visited you already?" You were shocked. Frieda called you to ask for Mrs. Jeon's phone number. She said she and Kiyomi would visit Jungkook's mother next week. Admittedly, this was why you went to the Jeon residence today. You wanted to brief Mrs. Jeon on what she could and could not say to the social workers. You never thought Frieda would not keep her word. Damn it.
"Yes. They're such lovely people. Don't worry, my girl. I'm very obedient. I didn't say anything bad against you and my son. I love my granddaughter, too. I want her to be happy." Sora and Mrs. Jeon were close to each other—probably because of their love for food. Mrs. Jeon often visited the Kang restaurant. She particularly loved seafood, so Jungkook often had to plead with Niccolo not to serve lobsters to his mom.
"As expected of my mother-in-law." You beamed, "Can you tell me what happened during their visit?"
Mrs. Jeon happily indulged you while you drank soup and ate other dishes. You were having a taste test to know what Jungkook and Hanni would like.
"How are you and my son, by the way? When is the wedding?" Mrs. Jeon looked at you fondly; guilt shot at your heart.
It was difficult to lie to her. How were you supposed to say that you were actively avoiding Jungkook? That looking at her son made you so anxious you wanted to vomit? Were you supposed to say you were scared of fucking things up that you'd rather act coldly to Jungkook? That you'd rather ruin something that hadn't even started?
The past two weeks had been nothing but torture for Jungkook. You snapped at him every time you two crossed paths.
It was as if you were back to your old self, crawling back to your hard shell and painting your walls blue.
Jungkook was frustrated, but all he could do was swallow his pride because this was his fault. He thought he ignored your boundaries just cause he felt the moment was right, so all he could do now was look at you pathetically like a damn dog gaining back its master's favor.
The day after the trip was the worst. You did not go home for two days, granted that it was for a business trip, but you were being too dodgy. You wouldn't talk to Jungkook and only say a few things if Hanni was on the other line.
Jungkook tried snatching the phone from Hanni. However, you instantly ended the call when his face resurfaced on the phone screen.
When you cooked food for them, you only cooked vegetables. There were barely any sweets, and it's making Hanni agitated. Jungkook couldn't do anything but swallow a spoonful of goya champuru. Blegh! Too bitter!
The weekend was Jungkook's breaking point. Hanni was out with her Uncle Taehyung for two days. The social workers didn't restrict who the kid could spend her weekends with. Besides, Taehyung was trustworthy. Jungkook's heart was at ease knowing that Taehyung was dating Jimin Park. Hanni was in good hands for the weekend.
All Jungkook had to worry about was you. Saturday morning was the first red flag. Jungkook spotted a bouquet of roses on the doorstep.
He immediately assumed it was the same person who gave you those damn baby breaths. Worse? You displayed it on the center table!
Jungkook sulked so badly you could practically taste his bitterness in your mouth. His daisies were ignored! Jungkook did not dare replace the roses with daisies because of how piercing your glare was.
On that same Saturday night, Jungkook felt like crying. You were wearing a sparkly black dress that made your skin pop. You had your red lips on. He almost had a mental breakdown looking at your lips.
He couldn't help but ask where you were going.
"Date." You replied impassively.
It was over for Jungkook. You were probably going out with the person who gave you the roses!
Jungkook waited for you to go home that Saturday night, but you did not. The bags under his eyes were dark and heavy—you almost flinched when you saw him on Sunday. Jungkook was so embarrassed and pissed that he didn't go out the whole day.
In the following days, Jungkook observed that you were always on your phone. He instantly assumed you were giggling while texting with your date.
Perhaps you're meeting with him now? Would you go to Seoul? Was that the reason you had your big bag?
In reality, your big bag was now full of food. Mrs. Jeon made a week's worth of food for you, Jungkook, and Hanni. You two hadn't even gone to the garden yet. You guessed she was over the moon after you told her you and Jungkook were doing better.
It was a white lie, alright? You couldn't bear breaking this old woman's heart.
"This is everything I cooked. Now, come. Let's go to my garden and get you some vegetables. Hanni loves mashed potatoes. I happen to have a lot of potatoes today." Mrs. Jeon wheeled her wheelchair to the garden.
You followed her with a huge smile on your face. Who would have thought food could make you this happy?
Or maybe the thought of cooking for your loved ones was what made you happy.
"Forgive your useless mother-in-law." Mrs. Jeon was apologetic as she watched you pick vegetables all by yourself. She couldn't crouch down as it would only hurt her leg. The old woman sounded solemn. At this point of your life, you understood that you didn't always have to speak up or refute someone's statement—even when they're being pessimistic about themselves. Sometimes, they were only ranting for the sake of it.They just needed someone to listento them because it was not like they didn't know their situation. They were the ones who had problems. You couldn't always offer them solutions because, almost 100% of the time, they had most likely thought of what you thought.
Truth be told, Mrs. Jeon sighed at your silence and felt more at ease to voice out her feelings, "I've been a burden to my husband and my Jungkook-boy since my leg has become useless. Sometimes, I wish the heavens would have mercy and just take me away."
This was something you couldn't tolerate. You stopped picking vegetables to grab Mrs. Jeon's hand. Your grip was tight.
"It's just hard, you know?" Mrs. Jeon gripped your hand, too. She lovingly stroked your fingers like Jungkook did when you couldn't sleep. "I'm the mother of our family, but I've become like a child. I find it hard to bathe myself; I can't control my food, and my leg always hurts. Jungkook couldn't find a wife because he feels the need to take care of me."
You couldn't speak about Mrs. Jeon's pain, but you could talk about the truth about Jungkook. You stared at the old lady and said, "I don't think Jungkook minds. He loves you a lot."
He really did. Jungkook would rather swallow the embarrassment of being called a mama's boyif it meant his mother was happy and healthy. Mrs. Jeon knew this as well. Tears welled up in her eyes. She sobbed imperceptibly.
"He does, doesn't he? My Jungkook is such a good boy. I was so scared when the doctors told me I needed to get surgery. They said it will leave a big scar."
Mrs. Jeon was wearing a long, thick dress since her leg was sensitive to the cold, but she held the hem of her dress as if she wanted to raise it and show you something.
"I cried for days. Jungkook-boy comforted me, but I was inconsolable. My leg will be a reminder of my hardship. I don't want that."
Don't we all? The voice inside your head answered. You had scars, too. It was just that yours was not visible to the eyes—your heart was scarred and battered. People might laugh if you told them your greatest heartbreak was law school, as it would appear insignificant compared to life-threatening problems, but that's the thing. Your pain only seemed irrelevant because they were comparingit to something else.No one saw you shedding tears and losing sleep and dignity whenever your professors threw hurtful words to crush your confidence.
"My surgery went well, but the pain I felt did not get any better. I hated looking at my scars. Until one day..." Mrs. Jeon was hit with a wave of memories. The corner of her mouth twitched. She raised the hem of her dress.
Your breathing hitched as you saw her leg. It was covered with colorful stars. They were tattooed on her skin perfectly.
"It's pretty," your eyes glistened with amazement. You asked Mrs. Jeon if you could trace the stars with your fingers. She happily agreed.
"It was Jungkook's idea. That boy is really thoughtful." Mrs. Jeon saw that Jungkook was affected by her pain. Jungkook was so down he could barely think, but one day, Jungkook went home with a smile on his face. He was humming an unfamiliar song. Mrs. Jeon asked what got him vibrating with excitement.
“Someone sang a song for me. “Jungkook creased his eyes and crouched down. Without any more words, he exposed his newly tattooed skin to his mother.
"Jungkook-boy got a tattoo to convince me to get one myself. It's to show me it's not painful. It’s pretty; now I can look at my leg without crying."
Oh.
Your mind blanked for a moment. You tried to imagine Jungkook and where he could have gotten his tattoo. He was a police officer. He couldn't have had it tattooed somewhere visible to everyone.
Maybe he had one on his leg, too?
No. You had seen him wear shorts before. Perhaps he had it tattooed on his back?
You couldn't stop obsessing about Jungkook's tattoo as you and Mrs. Jeon roamed around her garden. Your second bag was almost full of produce. You told Mrs. Jeon you'd gotten enough for the month.
"That's good. Let's just roam around for a bit, okay? Fresh air is good."
You gave into the old woman's wish. Their garden was big. Your mouth went agape with how pretty the flowers were.
"Did you plant these yourself?" You plucked a small flora and placed it behind Mrs. Jeon's ear. She giggled.
"Yes, although Jungkook maintains them for me. He's a flower enthusiast himself. I'm convinced it's the flowers that he can't leave, not me." She chuckled, "Come, I'll show you his beloved flowers."
You walked for a few more meters before coming face to face with Jungkook's mini flower plantation.
"What do you think? Beautiful, isn't it?" Mrs. Jeon asked.
It took you a long time to respond. Your mouth had gone dry, and you felt like a lump was stuck in your throat. As a lawyer, nothing really surprised you anymore. You had dealt with pathological liars, brutal killers, and more.
But the thing before you shocked you to the core. Shivers ran through your spine while looking at Jungkook's flowers.
Daisies.
Jungkook had a daisy plantation. They're different colors, looking suspiciously like the ones he displayed on Sora's home daily.
Your legs weakened. You had to hold onto the wheelchair bar so you wouldn't fall. Suddenly, the past two weeks felt like a bad joke to you.
Your heart constricted, feeling your stomach drop, too.
"Sweetheart, are you okay? Your face is pale." Jungkook's mom told you to crouch down so she could see your face properly. She saw the light trembling of your lips and your reddish eyes.
Mrs. Jeon felt like she was looking at your younger self. This was the same expression you wore when Jungkook told his parents and your parents that you had kicked him. This was the face you made when you felt you had fucked up.
"You can tell me what's bothering you." Her gentle voice made you want to cry. Looking at Jungkook's mother hit close to home. You had not thrown a tantrum in years, but as you faced this old woman, you thought it wouldn't be so bad if you screamed and kicked your feet out of frustration.
The frustration you felt for yourself as you continuously fuck everything up.
"Mum, what should I do?" You whispered like a lost lamb. Mrs. Jeon caressed your cheeks before holding your head to her lap.
"It's alright," she assured you. "You're allowed not to do anything. Come, let's get you something to eat first. There's nothing food can't solve."
You couldn't eat, though. You were just going to puke it since your stomach was still turning. And so the old woman diverted your mind to crocheting and playing music. When the sun had set, Mrs. Jeon insisted on feeding you again, but you told her you wanted to cook for your family, which seemed to do the trick.
Truthfully, Mrs. Jeon felt guilty feeding you a bunch of stuff while her son and grandchild were probably eating garbage.
"Alright, alright. I'll let you go now." Mrs. Jeon shooed you away after putting more food in your bag. "Drive safely. I'll see you soon, my pretty daughter-in-law!"
You hopped into your car and drove away. You had never been this excited to come back home.
***
The drive back to the Kang' residence felt like an eternity. You were itching to see Jungkook so much that you almost ran inside.
"Hi?" Jungkook was startled to see your panting face. He was having dinner alone when you suddenly emerged in the dining room.
"H-Hi." You greeted back; your breathing was still ragged.
Jungkook noticed the two big bags in your hands, his eyes dilating. He immediately waltzed to your direction and helped you carry them.
"Oh, damn. It's heavy. What the hell is all this?" Jungkook struggled to place the bags on the countertop. How did you manage to carry them all the way here?
Adrenaline.
Your mind had tricked you that you were in danger—like you were going to have a heart attack if you didn't see Jungkook now.
"They're from your mother." You ran out of lies, and frankly, you were tired of them.
"Oh?" Jungkook stood frozen for a second before inspecting the bags. He saw the familiar dishes his mother usually cooked.
All at once, Jungkook's heavy heart felt light. The stones had been lifted.
You were out all day visiting his beloved mother?
"She didn't want me to tell you. But don't worry," you waved your hand in dismissal, "We didn't eat lobster. She's fine."
Jungkook watched you suspiciously, but then your treacherous stomach suddenly growled. Instantly, Jungkook's lips curved into a smirk.
"You didn't eat lobster. Did you even eat at all?"
"Oh, shut up." You rolled your eyes on him.
It was good how you and Jungkook could immediately fall back to your old selves. You guessed Jungkook had long since touched your soul that fighting and making up didn't amount to much.
"Where's Hanni? Why are you eating alone?"
"Oh. She ate earlier. She's sleeping now. You know that kid well. She said she'll have more energy for her playdate with the Lee kids tomorrow if she sleeps now." Jungkook went back to the table. He was doing okay but suddenly became agitated as he opened a plastic bag of takeout food.
"I didn't know you were coming home tonight, so I only bought this for you." Jungkook brought out one oyster pail from the plastic.
The savory smell of your favorite Chinese food wafted in the room. Your stomach growled louder.
This time, you didn't shy away from the sound. Your mind was elsewhere—something more important:
Jungkook thought you weren't coming home, yet he still brought your favorite food.
The realization felt like a slap in the face. You almost lost your balance because of the impact of his actions.
This man was really...
"I'm sorry I didn't buy an extra portion of dumplings." Jungkook scratched the back of his neck, misunderstanding your silence. He honestly thought you were back to being mad because of dumplings.
Pain shot at your heart. Just how cruel were you to him these past two weeks that he thought he wasn't doing enough?
"It's okay. Thank you-u." You stuttered while trying to hide the pain in your voice. Jungkook watched as you sat on the chair, broke the chopsticks into two, and wordlessly ate your food.
Jungkook couldn't see your eyes as you ate with your head down. He sighed, and after watching you for a few more seconds, he sat down and ate with you.
The silence was deafening but not unwelcome. You needed this peace before the storm.
The drizzling started after finishing your food. Jungkook offered to wash the dishes. You did not fight him and simply nodded.
Jungkook thought you'd return to your room since you no longer have a business here. However, he was surprised when not only did you stay—you also stayed close to him.
"Uh..." Jungkook glanced at you from the side. The silence earlier was not awkward, but this one was.
"Why?" You leaned on the countertop and folded your arms across your chest. You stared at him lazily, "Go on. Wash the dishes."
Jungkook was in a dilemma here. You see, he didn't want to wash the dishes while you were around. Or rather, he didn't want you to see him put on the washing gloves.
"What's wrong?" You furrowed your brow when Jungkook didn't move.
"Don't tell me you don't want to work in front of your empress?"
Jungkook still did not move. His lips were glued together.
The drizzling turned into light rain.
"Fine then." You shrugged nonchalantly. Jungkook breathed out, thinking you had given up. But lawyers like you did not know how to give up.
You pushed through. You thrivedto get what you wanted.
You grabbed Jungkook's right hand. He wasn't expecting your action, so you saw how his hand balled into a fist. He didn't flinch, though—never.
Never from you.
As usual, Jungkook was wearing his silver Versace watch. You weren't sure why it took you long to notice something about him, but now that you did, you couldn't stop obsessing about it:
Jungkook was wearing his wristwatch on his right hand despite his left hand being his non-dominant one.
It perfectly complemented his silver engagement ring, but this practice was still out of the ordinary for many.
The light rain turned moderate.
You were still grasping Jungkook's hand. You stared at it with your blazing gaze. Jungkook saw how hard you bit your lip—like looking at his hand was a complex puzzle you couldn't solve.
The staring lasted a few minutes before you caressed his hand with both your hands. Jungkook's heart was in his throat. He could only watch helplessly as you removed his wristwatch.
The action only lasted seconds but felt like an eternity for Jungkook. It was tortureto have your soft hand kneading his wrist.
His wrist was tattooed.
So your hunch was correct, huh?
Jungkook really did have his wrist tattooed. You surveyed the design with a dry mouth, a hammering chest, and blurry eyes.
Jungkook had a bracelet tattoo—the bracelet was made with flowers.
But it wasn't just flowers—they were aquamarine daisies.
"Nice tattoo," you whispered as you traced your fingers on it.
You could hear Jungkook's shallow breathing when he hummed in response, "Yeah. It's dedicated to my empress. Her Majesty's born in March."
March was your birth month. The assigned birthstone for this month was aquamarine.
"Your empress didn't know she has such a dedicated subject." Your eyelashes fluttered, tilting your head to the side to expose your neck.
Jungkook gazed salaciously at your exposed skin. He suddenly thought if he were to be a vampire, it wouldn’t be too bad...
"I don't dare tell her. I don't think Her Majesty likes me very much." It took me a long time to figure out my feelings, too. But I didn’t want to run away from her—I didn’t want to run away from you.
Jungkook’s unspoken thoughts remained unspoken, though. He feared he’d scared you again. You two were barely talking. Jungkook didn’t know if tonight was a miracle because it sure felt like it was. Seeing you here was already enough.
“Her Majesty can be a little dense, huh?” You dropped his wrist, but your hand made its way to cupped his jaw. Jungkook was a big man, but he purred.Like a cat, he couldn’t help but nuzzle his face to your hand.
“Nah, I’m just too presumptuous. How could a mere servant dare kiss Her Majesty?” Jungkook’s voice was solemn. This was his way of subtly apologizing for his actions. He couldn’t apologize to you directly as it might ruin your mood.
But you were done pretending. You didn’t want subtlety anymore. What you realized at the Jeon’s garden shook your heart. You felt like you were deprived of oxygen after chain-smoking for so long.
It might be too late, but you wanted to quit. You wanted to give your lungs air that went by the name Jungkook,so you did just that.
The moderate rain turned into a thunderstorm.
You did not care about the lightning and thunder. All you could think about was the feeling of Jungkook’s lips against yours.
They are soft—was your first thought. But it’s not enough. You wanted more of him.
You grabbed Jungkook’s face and kissed him harder. It took him a few seconds to respond, thinking he was in a fever dream.
But this was real.
Jungkook moaned as his hands roamed around your body. He touched your hips. You were real.
He caressed your waist—you were real.
He stroked your hair—you were real.
He pushed his tongue inside your slightly parted lips—you were fucking real.
“For reference…” You broke the kiss for a while. Jungkook grumbled in annoyance. He tried to run after your lips while his eyes were tightly shut.
You laughed heartily but backed away. Jungkook gave up and just buried his face on your neck. He sucked bruises into it. God, you were so sweet and warm.
“I just taught you how to kiss me. You can’t just peck on my lips—”
“You want to be devoured. I get it.” Jungkook was impatient. He kissed you again.
He kissed and touched you until your lips had gone numb—until the thunderstorm stopped and the rainbow and sun resurfaced again.
***
The aftermath of the kiss wasn't tragic like the first one because Jungkook had learned his lesson.
"Seriously?" You looked at Jungkook in disbelief as you wriggled out of his grasp. Sadly, he didn't let you go and only tightened his hold on you like a koala bear.
"Tsk. Who knew you'd be this clingy?" In the end, you had no choice but to give up struggling. Jungkook had made up his mind. He would cling to you all night lest you run away again.
Kissing you was like a dangerous drug for him. It left him craving more.Admittedly, Jungkook stole many kisses from you in a span of ten minutes. You thought you wouldn't mind, but damn was he a ferocious beast.
He had bitten and licked you enough. You still need to meet some of your clients tomorrow. You couldn't go around looking like a violet painting, could you?
"Just one more kiss." Jungkook was about to kiss you again, but you pushed his forehead away.
"No. Your one kiss will last twenty minutes. Have mercy. I have a cut on my lips because of you!"
"Maybe I should kiss it better?" Jungkook batted his eyelashes. You pinched his cheeks in both annoyance and fondness.
"I can't believe I got myself a clingy boyfriend."
That shut Jungkook up. He looked at you dumbly, frozen like a stone in his spot.
It took him a second to realize the meaning of your statement. He gasped and grabbed your shoulders.
"We're dating?"
You blushed because of how surprised and delighted he sounded. It made you wonder if you were being toohasty, but you couldn't take back your statement now, could you? Not when the big puppy beside you was vibrating with excitement.
Gosh. He was so pathetic for you.
"Don't you want to?"
"No. No!" Jungkook licked his lips, his jaw tensing. You two were currently sitting on the couch. Jungkook could see the red roses on the center table. It pissed him off. The smile he flashed at you was strained. "It's good that you confirmed we're dating. That means the person who keeps sending you flowers will stop now, right?"
"Huh? You mean Mrs. Tanaka?" You narrowed your eyes. That old woman was a client of yours. She had a legal dispute over her land and had you represent her in court. The Supreme Court recently decided in favor of her, so now the land was rightfully hers. She sent you flowers as an additional expression of thank you.
Your clients have always been sweet. Aside from monetary value, they liked gifting you flowers, luxury bags, and perfumes.
Jungkook was stupefied. Of course, he knew Mrs. Tanaka. She brought candies for Hanni last time. Jungkook had approved it, so Hanni happily indulged her sweet tooth while you weren't looking.
He would have never guessed that Mrs. Tanaka was the one who sent you flowers.
You looked at Jungkook suspiciously, though. Then you crinkled your eyes. "Wait, did you think some guy is sending me flowers?"
Jungkook's lips protruded into a pout. He scratched his nape, "Well, you know. Someone did send you home before, then you received those popcorn flowers the next day..."
"Oh, my gosh. You're still not over that!?" You gaped at Jungkook. You seemed to learn more things about your boyfriend as time passed by. Was he seriously the jealous type?
You thought about it for a second, realizing it wasn't a red flag for you. In fact—
You looked at Jungkook's still sulky face. It warmed your heart in an instant.
—In fact, it was kind of cute.
"You don't have to worry." You stroked his arms. "I'm not entertaining anyone else. You're the only one I like."
Jungkook's downturned lips curved up. He practically had stars in his eyes. "Good. No more going out on dates either, except with me."
"But I never went on dates?" You didn't have time for it. Your clients were the only ones you met up with. Besides, meeting someone with a romantic intent was difficult for you. You hated opening your heart to a stranger since it was a waste of time and would probably not work out.
But Jungkook was not convinced. He remembered that you went on a date two weeks ago. He let out ahmph sound and said, "Don't lie to your boyfriend. You were on a date recently. You even wore a black dress."
Oh, that. Realization dawned on you. You shook your head at Jungkook, "Tsk. Are you the strict type? I went out with Ji-eun that night. That girl neededa break, you know?"
She sure did. Ji-eun was an overworked prosecutor. She couldn't remember the last time she went out, so you volunteered to take her on a date. Ji-eun was hammered. You didn't have a choice but to stop drinking and just babysit her.
You brought her home, too, and decided to stay the night.
"I'm saving the planet. I'm a responsible citizen!" You reasoned out to Jungkook. If you left Ji-eun at her home, you were sure she and Jongsuk would end up making another baby.
Jungkook finally relaxed. As it turned out, most things that made him sad the past two weeks were simply a misunderstanding.
You and Jungkook talked for a bit. He also assured you that he was not dating anyone else. His mother already called you daughter-in-law.He wouldn't dare bring anyone else home—he also didn't want to.
"I still can't believe this is real." Jungkook sighed with contentment as he gazed at your face.
He couldn't believe that after so long, you two would be here, sitting on the couch without biting each other's neck—that there would come a time when he could admit he liked you and that you felt the same.
If someone told him a month ago that he would be dating you, he probably would laugh at their face. You and Jungkook had a long history together; even now, you still have to figure out many things. But it was best to take things slow, mainly because you needed to prioritize Hanni first. The deliberation of the social workers hasn't been finalized yet.
"I'm real." You leaned your head over Jungkook's shoulder. You also traced his tattoo once again. Next time, you'd ask him why and when he got this. "We're real."
Jungkook nodded before kissing your temples. He felt your heartbeat through your wrist for a while.
He brought your hand to his mouth a little later, kissed it, and whispered goodnight to you.

Unfortunately, you might have to reevaluate jealousyas your red flag.
Your morning started off the same. You were cooking breakfast while Jungkook went out to check the mailbox. He hadn't seen flowers in a while, but fate seemed to be testing you as there was a fresh bouquet of tulips on your doorstep.
"Another client?" Jungkook frowned, letting you see the messy handwriting on the bouquet's card. Your name was written on it with a small heart on the end.
The veins in your head felt like they were going to explode. You honestly didn't want to deal with this early in the morning, but you realized that the sooner you talked about it, the sooner it would go away.
"I know where the flowers came from." You sighed loudly and took off your apron. It was a Sunday. Jongsuk would pick up Hanni after lunch. Perhaps it was better to order food online as your morning would be spent pacifying a big baby.
"I'm not sure if you remember him, but his name is Rico Braun. He was—"
"Mingyu's classmate and a bastard who's obsessed with you." Jungkook cut you off harshly. He wasn't mad at you or anything. This wasn't even about his jealousy. Jungkook's rage was directed at Rico.
How could Jungkook forget him? Rico was the reason why Mingyu's life became so fucked up. Jungkook hated him.
You gave your boyfriend warm tea and coaxed him to calm down. Unfortunately, Jungkook was still brooding. Hanni woke up a little later. She noticed her Jungkook-boy was in a foul mood, so she tried cheering him up.
Hanni was never scared of Jungkook. At three, she already knew Jungkook-boy would neverhurt her.
"Come on, I've already blocked his number. We haven't talked in a while now." You told Jungkook the last time you and Rico talked was many weeks ago. He insisted on bringing you home, so you just agreed to get it over with. You also told him Rico was already out of the country.
However, Jungkook didn't feel at ease. He searched for Rico on social media platforms.
"I'm blocking him too!" Jungkook announced.
You, him, and Hanni were in the living room. Hanni said she wanted to watch a movie with you and Jungkook before Uncle Jongsuk picked her up.
The little girl chose a movie while his male guardian sulked beside her.
"Hanni, look. He's not good-looking, isn't he?"
Jungkook's pettiness reached another level when he showed Hanni a photo of Rico. You facepalmed. This was a little too much.
But Hanni was on Jungkook's side. She looked at the picture and scowled, "Jungkook-boy, who is that? He looks like the one I saw in a movie before!"
As if on cue, the teYoongision flashed a movie recommendation. It was called Antz.Hanni giggled and pointed at the screen, "Look! Look! He looks like Z!"
Z was a character in Antz. Your mouth parted in shock as Hanni and Jungkook made fun of Rico. You couldn't care less about Rico, but you scolded them for being mean.
Jungkook caressed Hanni's hair when he realized his mistake, "Terni is right, Hanni. We can't be mean to other people. You can't judge them solely based on looks, alright?"
Your heart relaxed at that. You thought that was the end, but Jungkook added something more.
"Except him. You are allowed to make fun of this dude called Rico. He's a me—"
The pillow hit Jungkook's face before he could finish his sentence.
He looked at you sheepishly. You glared.
Silence filled the room.
Jungkook finally shut up.

Jungkook slowly returned to normal a few weeks after you two started dating. He hadn't really changed much to begin with. Jungkook became comfortable with being a little too in lovewith you.
Of course, the bickering never stopped. Jungkook still got on your nerves and vice versa. If one thing had changed, it was that Jungkook became busier with work.
He was assigned to many patrol operations and review reports. One time, you and Jungkook got home in the middle of the night because Jungkook had to go to the hospital first and get stitches.
You were so mad you berated Yoongi. "There are so many newbie officers out there! Why'd you have to send Jungkook to deal with these bastards!"
Jimin and Jungkook grabbed your shoulders to steady you. The bastards you were talking about were two groups of men who got into a brawl.  Jungkook stepped in to stop them. They were useless gangs who had the gall to start a fight but cowered under the skirts of their mother.
It was so annoying!
Captain Yoongi was unbothered, though. He drank his tea and shrugged his shoulders. Jungkook brought you home while cajoling you to calm down.
However, you couldn't calm down, wanting to see him okay and out of danger. You and Jungkook ended up sleeping in the same bed that night. You tossed and turned, making sure you weren't hitting his wounds. You had to get up every 2hours to remind him to take his medicine.
Jungkook appreciated your concern so much that he wouldn't stop peppering your face with feather-like kisses. He thought the incident was a blessing in disguise as that was the start of the two of you sleeping in the same bed.
You hadn't gone beyond kissing and a few touches here and there, though. The nights you stayed together were more of a getting-to-know-each-otherphase.
Jungkook missed almost a decade of your life. He spent those years confused about his feelings for you—sometimes he liked you, sometimes he felt disappointed in the path you chose.
But ultimately, he felt regret because he hadn't made up his mind in those years. What did he truly want?
You were different from Jungkook. You knew everything that happened to him since Sora never failed to update you, even though you told her you couldn't care less.
That was a lie—you only told Sora this to make yourself feel better about how things ended between you and Jungkook.
Both of you achieved great things despite not being in the company of the other. But now that you were together, things became greater.
It was a typical day for you. You didn't work on weekends anymore, but your weekdays were busier than ever. A client of you called with an urgent concern. You were supposed to drop off Hanni at the daycare today, but your stupid client ruined your schedule.
"Don't say anything." You reminded your client in haste as you put on your heels. Your phone was attached to your ear since your hands were full of documents. Damn it. You were going to be late! "You're saying you are in Seoul now? The officers there would harass you. Demand a medical check-up before you engage with their demand. Again, don't say anything unnecessary without me there."
You kissed Jungkook and Hanni and mouthed goodbyeto them. Jungkook was sad you were leaving early but knew he couldn't interfere with your work. Jungkook watched helplessly as you sprinted toward your vehicle.
You started your car while still on the phone with your client. The latter was crying on the other line, saying how scared he was of the police officers in Seoul. He wasn't familiar with the city. Unfortunately, he got arrested for violating a local government law relating to operating an unmanned aircraft.
You were in the middle of talking to your client and were about to drive away when Jungkook abruptly entered your car.
"I'll go now. See you in a while." You cut off the line so you could direct your attention to Jungkook. He was carrying Hanni, and both of them were looking at you disapprovingly.
"What is it?" You huffed at them. You didn't have time for games. You had work to do.
Hanni crossed her arms while Jungkook lightly flicked your forehead.
"Ouch!" You overreacted. "What was that for?"
Both Jungkook and Hanni shook their heads. Jungkook was the one who explained their disappointment.
"You're driving away without a seatbelt? Don't you have regard for your life? Why do you keep forgetting you're a mom now?"
"Mama doesn't love us!" Hanni added fuel to the fire.
Oh.
You sheepishly blinked at them. Right. You were a 'mom' now. Frieda and Kiyomi released a statement, saying that you and Jungkook passed the deliberation. All you needed to do now was to sign the documents and submit them to the court, then the court would contact you to swear an oath, and that was it.
You would legally be Hanni's guardian. It was a done deal already. Jungkook knew you had already submitted the documents to the court. All you needed to do was wait for their call.
Your friends rejoiced with the news. You all had a mini party to celebrate. Hanni was so happy despite not knowing the legalities of the process. She just understood that you would forever be with her.
Admittedly, it was Hanni's idea to call you and Jungkook as ‘Mama’and ‘Papa.’You were at the party at that time. You announced the good news to your friends. Rin—Ji-eun and Jongsuk's eldest child--looked at Hanni innocently and asked, "Does this mean they're your mama and papa now?" while pointing at you and Jungkook.
You wished you were kidding when you said Hanni's eyes dilated out of excitement. She instantly called you Mama. A big smile was plastered on her lips.
You wanted badly to refute her. Not because you hated the idea of being a mom but because you did notwant to stealsomething that belonged to Sora and Niccolo.
Jungkook saw your struggle and wanted to correct Hanni, too. But Hanni called him Papa, and Jungkook didn't have the heart to refute her.
Thankfully, Hanni said something that soothed your guilty heart, "Isn't it cool? I have Mummy Sora, Daddy Nico, Mama Terni, and Papa Jungkook-boy!"
The kids cheered. One of Ji-eun's children even asked if she could have another papa, too. Jongsuk refused his kid vehemently. The mood lightened afterward, allowing you to continue the party without hiccups.
Since then, Hanni has never stopped addressing you as Mama. There were times you still felt awkward, just like now.
In your thirty-two years of existence, you had never once thought a little kid and Jungkook, as your boyfriend, would berate you for not wearing your seatbelt.
"It's my fault." And that you would so easily concede to them. Jungkook helped you wear your seatbelt. After that, he kissed your forehead. Hanni kissed your cheek.
Jungkook wanted to kiss you on the lips, but you told him to have some decency as you were in the presence of your child.
Jungkook snorted and unsuccessfully hopped out of the car with Hanni. They waved goodbye to you before going back inside the house.
"Remember, kid. You can kiss your loved ones on the lips. I happen to like your Mama so much that I can kiss her anytime. It's normal." Jungkook reminded Hanni. He couldn't say he didn't have ulterior motives for this, but a part of him wanted Hanni to learn affection and what should've been normalized in the first place.
"Alright," Hanni kissed Jungkook's cheek, "Does that mean I can kiss my friend Beren on the lips? I like him!"
Jungkook's eyes widened.
He lightly grabbed Hanni's shoulder and stared deep into her eyes. Jungkook's jaw ticked. "No! You absolutely cannot kiss Beren! You're a child!"
Beren was Ji-eun and Jongsuk's child. Jungkook felt pain in his heart. This was not happening! He couldn't let his three-year-old kid like that pimp Beren!
Jungkook sighed in frustration and defeat. He sat down with Hanni and told Captain Yoongi he would be late for work. Jungkook didn't care about salary deductions or any punishment ahead.
He needed to educate his daughter first!

The case of your client in Seoul turned out difficult to handle. It took you half a day to deal with it. You also visited your office and talked to your secretary about some updates, so it was already nighttime when you reached Busan.
The Kang Residence was unbelievably quiet. For once, Jungkook wasn't by the door to welcome you.
Strange.
You entered the house. All the lights were turned off. You checked Jungkook and Hanni's rooms, but they were not around.
For some reason, your heart had gone cold. You felt numbness crawling from your feet to your head when you opened the cabinets.
Empty.
It only meant one thing: Jungkook and Hanni left you.
It should have come as a shocker, but you expected this. This was your plan, after all. It was just that something changed. Instead of Jungkook and Hanni, you should have been the one who left.
Still, you couldn't help but cling to them. You tried calling Jungkook. However, his phone was turned off. You had no choice but to call his mother.
Mrs. Jeon answered the phone, asking what was wrong. She was worried after her son and granddaughter barged into her home.
You couldn't explain the situation via phone, so you told her you'd be there in a few minutes. You didn't mind if she told Jungkook because, despite things escalating to this level, you knew Jungkook would not run away from a confrontation.
He wanted to know what was up with you, too.
The drive to the Jeon's residence was short. You couldn't remember stepping on the gas so hard. For once, all thoughts evaporated in your head as the inevitable enveloped you:
You fucked up.
You and Jungkook were doing okay just this morning. He kissed you goodbye and reminded you to wear your seatbelt, but now everything felt suffocating. You removed the seatbelt and hopped out of the car.
Your numb legs miraculously made it to the door. Jungkook was there. He was leaning on the wall with a cigarette in his hand.
Jungkook never smoked—he hated the smell and its effect, but he couldn't help but indulge in the feeling of smoke filling his lungs.
He was stressed.
"Hey," you greeted. What other choice did you have? Whatever you spouted would sound like bullshit to him. A simple 'hey' was the safest option.
But as expected, Jungkook did not bother to look at you. He stared into nothing as he puffed out smoke.
You turned your head away and held your breath. The suffocating smell of smoke made you want to puke.
"I've read your letter." Jungkook's voice was devoid of any emotion.
You'd like to think you had seen almost all sides of him. You saw him angry, frightened, grieving, and disappointed.
But this? This was something you hadn't seen before. Jungkook seemed like a dead robot. When he looked at you, you saw nothing—not even disgust.
Jungkook just felt empty. For the second time, he felt what it was like to be proven wrong.
"I trusted you, you know," Jungkook said in a flat tone. His face was hollow when he threw the cigarette stick on the floor.
You watched as ashes scattered on the floor. They were like the memories you spent together these past months. Now, Jungkook did not hesitate to let them go.
He stepped on the cigarette stick aggressively.
"I honestly believed you had a change of heart, but..." Jungkook trailed off. He chuckled at himself—of how naïve he was. Then he looked up—like doing so was the only way to stop the tears from falling down his eyes.
He didn't want to cry in front of you.
"You betray me. As usual."
"J-Jungkook..." Your voice cracked. The lump in your throat grew bigger, threatening to choke you.
"Don't." Jungkook's jaw ticked. Anger flashed in his eyes. No. You didn't have the right to look apologetic. He wouldn't want to hear your lame excuse. You had made a decision already—just like what you did when you left Busan to chase your dream.
Jungkook knew everything now. You lied to him. You did not submit the documents to the court. You didn't even sign them. The papers collected dust on your office table.
All because you did not want to be Hanni's legal guardian.
Jungkook had read the letter you wrote. It was addressed to the judge, Kiyomi, and Frieda. You told them you were backing out from the guardianship as you couldn't do it—you weren't fit to be a mother.
You said you wanted to pass all responsibilities to Jungkook. Maybe Taehyung, too, if he agreed. You claimed you didn't want anything to do with Hanni--that you wanted to go back to Seoul and focus on your career.
To further your fucking career.
Jungkook wanted to scream because he should have known. And honestly, he couldn't fault you either. You had always been like this. You had always thought about your career more than anything.
More than him.
More than Hanni.
"What are you still doing here? Why haven't you left?" Jungkook did not want to see you anymore.
Your heart couldn't take it. Bad habits die hard. You were a heartless jerk who liked putting the blame on others. You were a ruthless lawyer who turned on the good to protect the evil.
You were the evil. Jungkook realized when you threw back a question at him, "What about you? Don't you hate me? Then why are you still waiting for me here?"
Say you love me.
Make me change my mind.
Fight these demons threatening to swallow me whole.
Save me.
"You—" Jungkook huffed. He was speechless because of your shamelessness. Tears fell down his cheeks. He wiped them harshly. "You're really something, aren't you?"
You sucked in a breath. That's right. Be angry with me. Show me something.
But you were asking for too much. Even you knew how shameless you were being. You couldn't keep doing this. You couldn't keep hurting Jungkook.
It was not fair.
You stepped back. From your distance, you could see Jungkook shaking. He was clenching his fist so tightly—you were sure his fingernails had dug into his skin to the point of scarring.
When you two started going out, Jungkook stopped wearing his wristwatch, but he was wearing it again.
You couldn't fault him. This was on you.
So you did what you're good at.
"Let's break up, Jungkook."
You broke him.
Jungkook gnashed his teeth as a response. Tears continue to flood his cheeks.
"Fine." He glared at you. "Have it your way. Let's not see each other again."
Jungkook already had his heart broken. You had seen him shed tears because of you. His pride was severely damaged, so all he could do was turn away.
You didn't take that away from him. You let him have his last shred of dignity.
And then you left.

It's Friday.
You used to spend the night watching movies with Hanni and Jungkook, but now that you were back in Seoul, your Friday night switched to dealing with cases you'd be presenting in court next week.
Your weekend should have been a rest day. You would wait for one of your friends to pick up Hanni, and then you and Jungkook would go on a date.
But that was before. Now, you were just a single, overworked lawyer who breathed in money.
It was more complicated now that you were in Seoul. You were constantly receiving emails from the Braun Family, asking you to work for them again and if there was any chance you could appeal Gabi's case.
It was a shot in the dark, but they still did it. After all, you didn't hesitate to do it before. You betrayed Mingyu for money. Now, you have done the same thing. You gave up on your promise to your dead best friend to further your 'career.'
"Attorney, Mr. Braun called again. They're offering to make you the head of their—"
"Decline it." You didn't let your secretary finish. She understood at once, proceeding to your next business.
"Noted. I'm reminding you that you have a court hearing tomorrow morning from seven to nine. Should I confirm your attendance?"
"Yes." You answered without casting your gaze away from the files. Work. You needed to work harder.
"Then tomorrow at 9:15am, you are invited by the University of Seoul to give a lecture to graduating law students. It's a 6-hour lecture. Are you up for it?"
"Yes." Came your robotic response. You could skip lunch. It was not a big deal.
"Mr. Kang needs your legal advice as well. He's asking if you're available at 3:30pm tomorrow?"
"Yes." You turned the page of the files you were reading. Your eyes had gone dry. It was okay.
"Can we still squeeze in a 5pm online consultation with Isayama Corporation? They've been trying to seek your service for a while now."
"Confirm my appearance tomorrow."
Mina wanted to go on but didn't have the heart to. There were so many events and clients you still needed to entertain. What about rest? You hadn't been sleeping the past month.
Your subordinates noticed your drastic loss of weight. Frankly speaking, they were worried about you. However, they had no one to voice their concerns to. They didn't know any of your family members, and Sora, the only one who kept you grounded the past years, was dead.
"Is there anything else?" You leaned back on your swivel chair and looked at your secretary. Was it weird that you felt she was dancing?
Or were you just dizzy?
"Actually, Mr. Kim Taehyung called. He's asking if you're free to meet him for dinner tomorrow. He's in Seoul and said he's willing to pay your hourly rate. How should I respond, Attorney?"
Your eyebrow shot at that. Huh. Taehyung was in Seoul?
"Tell him my hourly rate is thirteen thousand won. If he agrees, tell him I'm meeting him at Tross District."
Mina expressed her understanding and left you alone after. You massaged your aching temples, clamping your eyes shut.
This was your life now. It seemed like nothing had changed, but it felt like everything changed at the same time.
Returning to Seoul after staying in Busan for months made you realize how monotonous your life was—how your life revolved around law and fattening your bank account.
It used to excite you: the thought of earning money and people recognizing your talent. But it didn't seem relevant now—not when you couldn't feel your heart starting. You also couldn’t feel the air or see the sky because you had built your wall higher and stronger this time. They were bluer than ever.
The blue haze spread all over your office. Slowly, you tried to let your guard down as your forehead hit the table.
You breathed in.
You breathed out.
In.
Out.
In. Your tears fell.
Out. More tears fell.
You had to remind yourself it was okay to cry sometimes. Because if you suppressed it all and if you didn't cry enough, the pain would come to bite you back in the ass.
And it was gonna hurt. Like a fucking bitch.
***
Your Saturday reeked of regret.
You regretted filling your schedule the whole day with only a maximum of a thirty-minute break.
Your mind and body were about to give up. Tross District was near your office, yet you almost crawled there. You suddenly regretted charging Taehyung with your regular hourly rate. You should've charged higher because you were not ready to face him.
"Long time no see, Attorney." Taehyung was playing the role of a client very well. His sarcastic remark made you want to roll your eyes. But you didn't. You were trying to be professional.
"Apologies for not arriving on time. I didn't want to be here." Whoops. A slip of the tongue.
Taehyung glared at you. Nonetheless, he helped you sit down. He was not a bastard. He saw how much you were struggling. You looked exhausted.
"Man, Ji-eun is right. You look like shit." Taehyung grimaced. You mimicked his reaction. Damn. Did Ji-eun talk behind your back?
Unfortunately, you couldn't blame Ji-eun. You couldn't cut her off your life, either. She was the only source of information you had in Busan.
You always bugged the prosecutor to update you regarding Jungkook and Hanni. Ji-eun would always sigh and tell you to come see yourself. You never did. You were a coward. Luckily, Ji-eun had a soft spot for a coward like you. She knew the feeling of pining for a guy she thought she couldn't see more than a family.
"I'm busy with work." You dismissed Taehyung with a wave of your hand. You tried to order wine, but Taehyung did not allow you to.
"I'm paying. You're not allowed to escape this conversation with alcohol, Mam." The boy knew your type well. Your technique was getting old already. Haven't you learned enough? You were thirty-two, for God's sake. Why did you still act like your problems would disappear if you ignored them?
You were acting like a child.
"Ugh," you scowled. "What do you want to talk about, anyway? Come on, time's running."
Taehyung ignored you, focusing on ordering proper meals for you. He was not blind. He saw how much you had lost weight. Your breakup with Jungkook and moving back to Seoul ruined you. Taehyung couldn't watch you destroy yourself any further—not when his other best friend in Busan was doing as bad as you were.
"Sometimes I wonder if I'm the biggest idiot in our group or if it's you and Jungkook." Taehyung exhaled loudly. "Or maybe it's Sora. I don't understand why she'd rather leave Hanni to you and Jungkook."
"Hey—!!" Your mind had been working all day. As much as you wanted to refute Taehyung's statement, your brain cells wouldn't do it. You were damn tired. All you could do was roll the tissue paper into a ball and throw it at Taehyung's face.
Taehyung gasped. He debated throwing back the rolled napkin to you but then decided against it. One of you needed to act as the mature one unless you wanted to be kicked out of this restaurant.
Taehyung wouldn't want that—not when he hadn't even started lecturing you for your idiocy and cowardice.
Since Taehyung was a decent person, he let you take a few bites of your food before speaking his mind. You looked like you needed it. You were barely chewing your food. You were so hungry you just swallowed it all.
"Slow down, damn." Taehyung was disgusted. Was this the same person Jungkook cried over about?
"I'm hungry! This is my first meal!"
"You're already living this badly. Don't you have regard for yourself? Are you trying to end your life?"
You stopped slurping your ramen and looked at Taehyung. Seeing his expression had you gluing your mouth shut. Being honest with him would probably send him on a spiral, so you just stuck to your second option: to shut up.
However, Taehyung understood your silence. His jaw ticked, "Why don't you just move back to Busan?"
"Can't. I'm not welcome there anymore." You replied casually. Taehyung felt his head aching.
"And whose fault is that? Aren't you the one who broke up with Jungkook and told me to look after Hanni on your behalf? Your decision got you in this depressive state, yet you still couldn't admit it?"
"I'm not depressed!"
"Oh, come on!" Taehyung badly wanted to throw the rolled napkin on your face. He did. Unfortunately, it landed on your bowl of ramen.
"You—!!"
Taehyung was unapologetic. He snarled at you. "Why are you doing this? Seriously? You're ruining your life for nothing!"
It was a good thing Taehyung hired a private room. Otherwise, you wouldn't have the face to look the customers in the eye. You knew most of them. They had been your clients, and some were your colleagues. You couldn't bear seeing them see you like this.
"And what about it!?" You screamed back. Weeks of built-up frustration fucked you up. Tears brimmed in your eyes. "There's nothing I can do! I can regret all I want, but it ends with that, too. I've ruined everything. You don't understand it. You..."
Your chest was heaving. It was hard to breathe, but you persevered. You felt like you were going to die if you kept it all inside.
"You don't know what it's like to be me, alright? I'm not Sora. I don't know how to be a good mom. I'm not Ji-eun, either! I can't win a case without scheming! And I'm..."
You couldn't hold back your tears. A sob escaped your lips.
"I'm not enough. I don't know how to love him. I'm...broken." The last word was barely above a whisper, but it reverberated through Taehyung's heart.
He couldn't take it. Seeing you like this felt like he was losing another friend. He could only take so much.
"Why do you say that?" Taehyung's expression morphed into something bitter. He bit his lips as if he was stopping something painful. "Did he never tell you?"
Tell me what? You wanted to ask, yet you couldn't find your voice. Your throat was filled with bile. One word, and you would throw it all out. You couldn't. It was too pungent.
Taehyung was conflicted. He stared at you blankly for a while, thinking of how he could explain things to you the same way Jungkook explained to him his feelings for you.
You lapsed into silence.
Taehyung watched the floating tissue on your ramen bowl. He felt guilty. You were deprived of many things.
Taehyung called out your name. Surprisingly, you did not bite back. You just simply hummed to indicate you were listening.
Taehyung calmed down.
"What do you think about law school?"
His question caused you to snap your head up and meet his gaze. Why was Taehyung asking you such a question?
"Can you tell me what you feel about law school?"
You always complained about how hard law school was. Taehyung had to admit that sometimes he pretended to listen to your rant. It drained him to listen to you talk. But now, he really wanted to hear your thoughts.
"I..." You licked your lips. You didn't know where to start. There were so many things to say about law school. Summarizing it would feel like a crime, but you still tried to fit what you feel in a few sentences.
"I abhorred law school so much." You didn't just dislike it—you hated it. "I hate that we follow the Socratic method. I hate that I had to memorize the provisions verbatim. I hate that I had to read hundreds of pages for a single case only to be asked one sentence about it. I hate how my professors attacked me personally and belittled my capacities because I got one question wrong. I hate that I constantly have to demerit my classmates' answers just so I wouldn't get zero on our recitation. I hate that I have to scheme to prove a point. I hate that they call the Constitution the supreme law of the land, but it's open to interpretation—it's open to many things. I view this provision as a circle, but it's a square. I hate it. I hate law school so much."
Taehyung could feel the hatred radiating from you.
"But..." Your lips trembled as you swallowed thickly, "I love law school at the same time. I love how it taught me how to be tough. I love how I can use these square things to help those in need, those falsely accused. I love how my heart pumps whenever I talk about those damned provisions I have memorized by heart. Most importantly, I love how being a lawyer defined me. It's not my whole personality, but it is a part of me."
A huge part of who you are today. Something you could call your own.
"Wow." Taehyung blinked, unable to say anything at first. He knew you were passionate about law but underestimated its impact on you.
You gave your whole heart to law.
"I get it now." The bulb inside Taehyung's head lit up. He squared his shoulders and looked at you with understanding. "You're like this because you haven't realized what you meant to Jungkook."
Taehyung was not making sense to you. You gaped, blinking dumbly at him.
Taehyung shook his head and licked his lips. He tried to explain, "Didn't it ever occur to you that maybe you are Jungkook's definition of law school?"
Jungkook felt two extreme emotions toward you all his life: love and hatred. But your actions to him were more of the latter, so Jungkook thought he'd act like he hated you more.
You didn't exactly give him many reasons to realize his love for you. The anger and the betrayal overpowered something he had not admitted himself.
Come to think of it, every emotion you two felt for each other was so strong that you didn't realize you were rushing into things.
It took you a short time to get together. It took you even a shorter time to break up. Your feelings were so intensethat you didn't know what to do with them.
"I guess you're not the only idiot in your relationship. Jungkook is, too." Taehyung observed. Jungkook was not good with words. He showed his love with actions. It was evident by how he took care of you and awkwardly kissed you the first time. Admittedly, he didn't know what to do after that first kiss. He was an awkward little ball who failed to assure you what it meant.
The second kiss was slightly better, but Jungkook still didn't know what to do with the feelings injected into his heart. He only knew how to cling and possess.
You two hadn't dealt with your issues before. Yes, you made it clear to each other that there was no room for other people in your hearts, but it ended with that.
Frankly, this was the bottom line of your issue. You were vulnerable and admitted to Taehyung,  "I don't know what to do with us, Taehyung." You held back a hiccup. "I felt like I've stolen this life."
Your gain was someone else's loss. Would you have dated Jungkook if Sora didn't die? Would you two have started something hadn't been for the fact that you were forced to live together?
These thoughts flooded your brain. More importantly, you thought you didn't deserve to be a mother. Hanni calling you Mama had fucked you up more than you thought it would. You lied to yourself at first, thinking you were simply getting used to the thought of being responsible for a child's life.
However, it was proven to be challenging. You had a broken soul. How could you love a little child who needed body and soul nourishment when you couldn't extend the same treatment to yourself?
Taehyung's words cut you deep. He voiced your deepest fear.
"What?" Taehyung couldn't fathom how you thought you stole the life you had in Busan. He widened his eyes at you, "Are you so insecure and a coward that you think Jungkook can't fall in love with you? That you can't love Hanni, right? Why? Is it because you have convinced yourself no one could love you? That's it, right? You thought that because that's how you viewed yourself in the first place."
Taehyung felt scandalized when he realized something.
He gasped and said, "It's because you don't love you."
No shit. You really had a broken soul and heart. You couldn't accept love, so you ran away from it.
Silence permeated the room. Taehyung didn't know what to say to you anymore. You were defeated, too.
"Just think about it," Taehyung said after a long pause. He blinked and held your hand. He squeezed them tightly. His touch was comforting, but it wasn't warm.
He wasn't Jungkook.
"You're a great lawyer. Just please think about what I said. You are not hard to love. Or even if you are, someone out there treats you like you are his law school."
There was someone out there who would not give up on you. Someone who would stubbornly charge ahead if it mean being a part of your life.
He loved you.
Jungkook loved you.
You and Taehyung left Tross District after you both calmed down. He didn't have the heart to let you go alone, so he drove you home.
Your apartment in Seoul was big, but it didn't feel like a home. It was simply a house. It was cold. Devoid of flowers and laughter.
It made Taehyung's heart ache.
"I'll get going." Taehyung squeezed your shoulders, still feeling lamented by how you treated your body. "Don't forget your promise to me and Sora."
It was game over. Taehyung had used your weakness against you. But you knew he was right. Your heart had decided, too.
"I know." You smiled softly. "I'll talk to him soon."
"Good." Taehyung turned to leave. He was halfway out the door when you called him.
"Taehyung?"
"Hm?"
"How do you know?" How'd you know Jungkook loves me?
Taehyung's eyelashes fluttered. The wind blew gently.
Taehyung smiled at you.
"My best friend told me. I have eyes too, you know? I won't lie to you."
He wouldn't. Taehyung was the most honest man you knew. He was always genuine in whatever he did. He had eyes that saw the truth, too.
Taehyung wouldn't forget about that day. It was when Sora's case came to an end. Taehyung had invited you and the others to dinner.
Jungkook was dazzling when he entered the restaurant. His hand was tightly wrapped just above your waist—like he wanted to attach you to him.
Hanni was in your arms the whole night. Jungkook ate so little as he was busy tending to you. You two were sitting beside each other. Taehyung watched how gently Jungkook gathered your hair so you could eat your hotpot without disruption.
And when you burnt your tongue because of how hot the food was, Jungkook immediately came to rescue you. He brought the cup close to your lips and let you drink water. After that, he gently patted your lips dry with a napkin.
You turned to Jungkook that time and said thank you.
Jungkook smiled back and whispered no problem to your neck.
Taehyung remembered watching the two of you, his heart melting. Some might think it was a simple gesture, but that was a moment of enlightenment for him.
When you know, you know.
"Take care of yourself." Taehyung reminded you for the last time. You didn't say anything more and just watched him leave.
As Taehyung entered his car, you suddenly remembered a portion of Sora's dying letter addressed to you.
"I'm leaving my little girl to you and Jungkook. Don't ask me about Taehyung. He's an idiot. Idiots can't take care of a child."
Huh.
You were starting to think Sora was just making an excuse. She knew Taehyung was not the idiot here.
It was you. And Sora was on a mission to change how you viewed life and yourself.
***
"Papa, where are we going?" Hanni's furrowed brows were cute to look at. However, Jungkook knew the little girl was trying not to cry. She thought she and Jungkook would go somewhere far again.
Hanni was sad the night they moved to the Jeon residence. Admittedly, it was not part of the plan. But Jungkook couldn't bear to stay in the same room as you—not after discovering that you viewed your relationship with him and Hanni as a burden.
Jungkook wouldn't mind if he was the only one affected. He was used to you leaving. But Hanni would get hurt, too. What would this little girl feel if she found out that her Mama didn't want to do anything with her?
"Don't worry, sweetheart. We're just going on a vacation."
Captain Yoongi assigned a drug-related case to Jungkook, so he needed to go to Gangwon Prefecture to investigate. Jungkook was hesitant at first, mainly because he didn't know where to leave Hanni. He had no intention of hiring a babysitter for a whole week. He couldn't leave the kid to Mrs. Jeon either. She was an old woman who could barely stand. Jungkook's friends were all busy, too. Captain Yoongi assigned them individual cases, which were all complex.
Besides, Hanni was vulnerable now. She hadn't moved on from her parents' absence completely. It didn't help that you had left, too.
Hanni always asked about you, but Jungkook made many excuses, saying you were busy with work and that Sora needed a hand to save the rabbits, so you volunteered.
Hanni was not happy to hear the same excuse. You promised to be with her for a hundred years. It hadn't been a year since you swore that, yet you were already gone.
You were a liar. Don't you love her anymore?
"It's just going to be seven days, darling. After that, we can go to your Aunt Ji-eun and Uncle Jongsuk's house. I won't glare at Beren, either. Just go with Papa for now, okay?"
"Okay," Hanni agreed but pouted her lips. She looked at the door to your bedroom, "I miss Mama. When will Mama come back?"
Jungkook and Hanni had moved back to the Kang residence three days after he made sure you had left Busan. The silence of the house was suffocating Jungkook, but he had no choice but to repress his pain.
He was learning from you. Weren't you the one who could pretend everything was alright even though it was all falling apart?
Jungkook needed to be strong for Hanni. However, it wasn't easy to do so. Hanni threw a fuss on the way to Gangwon Prefecture. As it turned out, the little kid didn't like traveling to far places.
Hanni vomited a lot, feeling dizzy from being inside the car for hours.
Jungkook was in a state of panic when they reached Gangwon. He deliberated bringing Hanni to the hospital, but Jimin called via phone and told Jungkook to contact Doctor Kim Seokjin first.
After the online consultation, Kim Seokjin said it was nothing serious and that Hanni just needed to rest. Because of this, Jungkook decided to postpone his investigation for a day.
He and Hanni ended up bonding inside their rented place. They watched movies, played games, and ate tasty food.
Captain Yoongi called at night, though. He said the investigation was an urgent matter. Jungkook couldn't leave Hanni alone, so after making sure that the police station was safe, Jungkook brought Hanni there.
Captain Yoongi was skeptical and wanted Jungkook to see why there were so many drug-related cases in Busan, yet all suspects were thrown to Gangwon Prefecture. Jungkook decided to talk to some of the inmates, but of course, he needed to talk to the head of Gangwon Police Station first.
With Hanni clinging to his arms, Jungkook stepped foot inside the station. He was greeted by a correction officer.
"Hello. I'm Busan's Police Lieutenant Jeon. I'm looking for Captain Choi."
The correction officer checked the computer system first. After confirming that Jungkook indeed had business with their Captain, the correction officer immediately led Jungkook to the Captain's office.
Jungkook brought Hanni, swearing that he had headphones and other games to distract the kid. She wouldn't interfere with the meeting.
The correction officer brushed it off. He said that the Captain usually brought along his children, too.
Jungkook felt at ease. He nodded at the correction officer and finally entered the Captain's room.
But what he saw made him question everything he thought he knew.
***
Your monotonous life passed by. It had been a while since you talked to Taehyung, yet you still refused to make do with your promise to him.
You have not contacted Jungkook yet.
You missed him terribly. You longed to see your little kid, too. But your heart shook every time you tried to contact them.
Just like now.
You dropped your phone on the table, clenching your fists that were shaking.
A stack of files filled your table and office, but you ignored them. Your attention was focused on your phone.
You had been meaning to call Jungkook, but your stupid heart wouldn't calm down.
You screamed internally.
Later. You'd do it later today.
***
Gangwon Police Station had seen it all: there were screaming criminals, crying accused, and police officers who were done with everything and just wanted to go home.
However, it never saw a grand reunion between two friends who had not seen each other in ten years.
Jungkook stared at the man in front of him. He used to be one of those boys who refused to cry as it showed weakness. But he couldn't care about it now.
Tears welled up in his eyes as he stared at his long-lost friend.
***
Your secretary was worried about you.
You had deadlines but were still looking dumbly at your phone instead of working. Mina wanted to snatch the little device and be the one to call whoever the one you'd been meaning to talk to.
Your secretary had never seen you this distressed.
She sighed and thought, "Is my boss in love?" Then she cringed at the thought.
Nah. You're probably thinking of a way to solve a case.
It was impossible for you to be in love. Even if you were, she was sure it would be reciprocated.
You were easy to love.
***
Back in Gangwon Police Station, Jungkook was sitting nervously on the couch. Hanni was crawling around the Captain's office. She had toys to keep her company, so she wasn't interested in disturbing his Papa and the other guy with gentle eyes.
Mina couldn't take it anymore. She'd be damned if you didn't finish your work for today. She was about to waltz in your direction when your phone suddenly rang.
You recoiled.
It took three rings before you answered the call.
"Hello?" You introduced yourself for formalities, thinking that someone had unfortunately given away your personal contact information again.
You were about to tell the person on the other line not to contact this number again, but then you were cut off by a familiar voice.
The person on the other line knew your whole name. He mentioned it before proceeding to his business, "I'm calling from Gangwon Police Station. You need to come here now. There are two people here: One thirty-something male claiming to be your husband, and the other is a three-year-old girl claiming to be your daughter. They say they won't leave unless you, the mom of the family, pick them up."
There were no thoughts left in your head after that sentence. You immediately ended the call and stood up.
"Attorney, where are you going?" Mina panicked. You had work to do. You couldn't leave.
But you couldn't care less about your job right now.
You needed to go.
Your family needed you.
***
The night wasn't young anymore when you reached Gangwon Police Station. The long drive took many hours. You couldn't sit still and fidgeted. Your dumb ass forgot to bring your phone since you were in a hurry. You also didn't have time to tell the driver to make a stop as you wanted to reach your destination as soon as possible.
Fortunately, the driver you hired was professional and was able to drive you to Gangwon without any problems. You paid the driver double and ran towards the station, feeling bad you couldn't give more thanks to the driver.
There was a far more important thing to deal with right now:
Jungkook and Hanni—your family.
"Mama!?" Hanni was the first one to spot you. Jungkook looked in your direction, too. A faint blush colored his cheeks upon seeing you. Jungkook carried Hanni and walked toward you.
No words were exchanged at first. The three of you silently squeezed into a tight embrace.
"Mama! Mama! Hanni misses you so much! " Your little girl was sobbing. She learned to count up to a hundred to track the days you were gone.
71 days. You were gone for seventy-one long days!
"Mama is here now, sweetheart." You kissed Hanni's forehead. Your knees were still weak from sitting in the car for too long. You couldn't carry Hanni yet.
Jungkook understood, but he couldn't hold back any longer.
"Come here," Jungkook's voice was raspy. His bloodshot eyes seemed not to take no for an answer.
You swallowed and stuck closer to him. Jungkook could carry Hanni with one hand. His other hand snaked to your shoulders. You had grown thinner. He could practically fit you in his hand.
"I miss you," Jungkook confessed honestly, and then he kissed your temple.
Blood rushed to your face. Your lips were trembling.
Jungkook grumbled and pulled you closer, acting like he wanted to melt your bodies together.
"I know everything now." He whispered in your ear.
You froze, unable to say anything. Your eyes wandered behind Jungkook.
The Captain of this station stood there, a small smile painted on his lips.
Captain Mingyu Choi. He was known as Mingyu Kim before he got married and took his wife's last name. Of course, you knew this person well. You fought tooth and nail to give him freedom. He was the main reason why you followed the Braun family. They told you they wouldn't involve the police and make sure Mingyu could still live his life. It might not be in Busan, but at least he lived freely here in Gangwon.
It was only today that Jungkook found out the truth. He had no idea that you kept in contact with Mingyu all these years. Jungkook seriously thought you had abandoned Mingyu for your dream.
Mingyu refuted this and told Jungkook the truth, "If it weren't for her, I'd probably end up in a ditch. She made a fair negotiation with the Braun Family. She knew that if she kept protesting, my life would have been ruined more." You studied well in law school and used all the allowance Mr. Braun gave you to fund Mingyu's lifestyle. The money you sent him fed his family and helped him train as a police officer.
Life was not too cruel to Mingyu because just a year after he moved to Gangwon, he met and married Miyeon Choi. It was you who suggested that Mingyu take his wife's last time. It would be easier for him to start a new life. Thankfully, the Braun family did not bother with Mingyu anymore.
You asked Mingyu if he wanted to get back at the Braun for what they did to him. Yes, the Braun family was powerful, but you were a lawyer now. You knew how to fight them. However, Mingyu didn't want more drama.
Mingyu shook his head, "There is no need for that. They tried to ruin my life, but they didn't succeed. Look at me now. I am a police officer. I have a beautiful and intelligent wife. We are happy with our two kids, too."
Call it toxic positivity or whatever, but Mingyu thought things turned out to be for the better. If Rico hadn't put those illegal drugs in his bag, then he wouldn't have met Miyeon. Living in Gangwon changed Mingyu's life for the better.
Jungkook was perplexed, though. He questioned why neither you nor Mingyu had ever told him about the truth. Apparently, it was Mingyu's idea. Mingyu knew Jungkook. He wouldn't stop in the name of justice. Mingyu appreciated it, but he just wanted to live a peaceful life.
Besides, Mingyu was embarrassed. He felt like he was why you and Jungkook had a fallout. He kept in touch with you and found out what happened to Sora and her husband. Mingyu was aware of your setup with Jungkook and was hoping the two of you would end up together this time.
Fate was cruel to you. Mingyu was dejected when he found out you and Jungkook broke up. He thought it was time to take the matter into his own hands and contacted Captain Yoongi. He corroborated with Busan's Captain to fix your relationship.
This was hitting two birds with one stone. Mingyu didn't want to avenge himself, but there were other people involved in this drug case. It wasn't just the Braun Family. In fact, the fall of Mingyu prompted the Braun clan to lay off drugs in Busan. There was a bigger person who was controlling the drug trade in Busan. They threw addicts and other scapegoats in Gangwon since this prefecture was rural and no one would dare investigate further. But Chief Kim and Captain Min had had enough. They needed to be more proactive to fix their city.
Jungkook would be involved, too. This was a case assigned to him, after all. Though he set this aside for now. He traveled all the way to Gangwon to deal with drugs, but he saw Mingyu, and everything turned upside down.
Mingyu helped him calm down before slowly and patiently explaining things to him. Jungkook understood but couldn't help but throw a tantrum. He told Mingyu he and Hanni would not leave the station unless you picked them up.
You and Mingyu must pacify him. He was the emperor now. He needed his empress.
Thankfully, you had arrived without the need for force. Mingyu could finally sigh in relief as he watched you and Jungkook talk affectionately.
After Jungkook told you what he knew, he batted his eyelashes and said, "You're here now. Won't you take pity on us? Won't you come back to us again?"
'But I've never left.' You wanted to say. Maybe you left physically, but it had always been him and Hanni since day one.
Sora could rest assured now.
This time, you would never leave.
***
You, Hanni, and Jungkook returned to the place Jungkook rented for a week. Jungkook told Mingyu he would be back tomorrow to properly discuss the drug case, but for now, he needed time with his family first.
Mingyu said it was no problem at all. He was itching to go home, too. Miyeon and his kids were waiting for him.
"Mama, you won't leave again, right?" Hanni held your fingers. She was scared to sleep because what if she woke up later and you were no longer around?
"Not this time, kiddo. Sleep. We'll watch Antz when you wake up, hm?"
That earned a snort from Jungkook. You pinched his cheek and told him to stop being a jealous asshole.
He caught your hand and kissed it.
Hanni giggled when she saw you and Jungkook like this. After convincing her that you wouldn't break your promise, Hanni finally fell asleep.
It was just you and Jungkook now.
The place had two rooms. Jungkook made sure Hanni had her own space wherever they went. Thankfully, you did not shy away from sleeping with Jungkook.
This was for the better. You two needed to talk for real.
"Later." You pushed Jungkook away when he topped you and started trailing kisses all over your face and neck.
Jungkook groaned but obediently followed you. He awkwardly fixed his pants, which felt tight.
You cleared your throat and pretended not to notice the bulge in his pants. Damn it.
"We need to talk first, and no. You can't just say everything is okay. It's not. What I did to you and Hanni was shitty."
You thought Jungkook would be like an obedient dog and just nuzzle your neck. Surprisingly, he turned serious for once.
"You're right. It's shitty." Jungkook jutted his chin. "And I hated you for it. I hated how easy it was for you to leave us alone."
The grievances Jungkook felt when you left were insurmountable. It made him question if it wasn't worth it, but then he remembered what you felt all these years—how you hid everything and acted like the villain.
You never wanted to leave the first time. The circumstances forced you to do it. It was he who didn't realize what was happening.
But that's the thing. You never held it against him. He was young back then. You two were powerless. Your option was the easiest way to deal with it. You just did what you thought was for the best.
"But I'm not any better. I held you on this very high pedestal because I have loved you since the beginning. I was just too blinded by embarrassment and rage, so I failed to recognize what you meant to me."
Jungkook thought about what happened before. Sora, Taehyung, and the others never participated in the protest for Mingyu, but Jungkook never held it against them.
Jungkook recently started to wonder why. And that's when he realized that it was because he loved you.
It was a shitty excuse, though it was the only reasonable explanation why he got mad at you back then. Jungkook realized people tend to have strict and high standardsfor their loved ones.
Jungkook barely batted an eyelash when the others didn't want to protest, but when you told Jungkook the same thing, he got angry and started resenting you.
As it turned out, he resented you for no reason. His heart caved every time he remembered the truth. Mingyu's words echoed in his head it was making him feel bad.
Jungkook couldn't help but kiss you again. "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry, too." You returned the kiss. "What I did to you and Hanni isn't excusable. I won't justify it, either. I'm just sorry I doubted your love for me."
The first time you left might not be your fault, but the second one was. Making promises meant nothing. This time, you would properly apologize and make do with your promise with action.
"Will you tell me?" Jungkook cupped your face and pecked at your lips. He couldn't help it. He was not the once bitten, twice shy type of person. You were addicting.
"Will you tell me how to love you right, babe?" Jungkook was on top of you again. He licked the seam of your lips. "How do I stop your pretty little head from doubting my love for you?"
You purred and rubbed your hips against his crotch. Jungkook was not like any other guy. He'd think of how to improve himself instead of punishing you for what you did.
He loved you so much.
"Just stay with me. Please. I'll be good now. I promise." You felt hot all over, urging Jungkook to unbutton your blouse.
He slowly undressed you as he kissed your neck down to your chest. Sweet. You smelled divine.
Jungkook embraced you while you wrapped your legs around his hips. Heat rolled to your belly. Jungkook pushed you against the headboard, and your back felt the velvet fabric tickling your naked back.
Jungkook was wearing his police uniform. He pinned both your hands to your head and locked them with his handcuff.
You gasped.
Jungkook's eyes pooled with desire when he saw you like this.
"I'll tie you like this if you dare leave me again."
It should've made you mad or embarrassed. Anything would do, but your treacherous body felt desire.
Only groans and moans and soft whimpers reverberated through the room.
'Tomorrow.' You promised yourself. 'We'll talk more tomorrow.'
***
Tomorrow came, and still, you and Jungkook hadn't talked. He got busy with work, and so did you. Mina had a breakdown on the other line, wondering where you went.
You apologized to your secretary and promised to finish your work. The week passed by with both you and Jungkook drowning with work. Hanni didn't have to worry about daycare since it was not formal schooling yet. You might have to enroll her in a formal school next year.
The topic of raising Hanni became your first priority when you went back to Busan.
You and Jungkook decided to raise Hanni in the Kang residence because traces of her departed parents were still here. You both swore not to make major changes in the house, as the decision depended on Hanni. This home belonged to her.
"I like it when we're like this." You embraced Jungkook. You two were slow dancing.
You were at a party tonight to celebrate the Lee couple's tenth wedding anniversary. Jungkook looked dashing in his black three-piece suit. Meanwhile, your boyfriend couldn't keep his eyes off you. He liked how you wore a pastel-colored dress. Jungkook couldn't get his hands off you that you arrived late at the party.
Your makeup was ruined, too. Damn this beast.
No one would have thought he was a monster in bed, though—not when he was holding you like a hatchling now.
"I like us all the time." Jungkook pressed his forehead against yours. He sighed in contentment. "Have I told you before why I got this tattoo here?"
Jungkook was referring to his bracelet tattoo. He was no longer covering it. He wore his wristwatch on his left hand.
"Not yet."
Jungkook hummed and told you the story. Back then, Captain Yoongi always made you, and the other kids do this gesture called Shinzo wo Sasageyo. It is meant to offer your heart. Yoongi never made the gesture but never failed to teach his students to practice it.
The Captain would tell you to practice the gesture during camping and training. It remained in Jungkook's heart, so when he realized his feelings for you, he thought, why not have his tattoo on his right wrist? This way, he could do the Shinzo wo Sasageyo gesture, giving him the illusion that he was offering his heart to you.
After all, the Shinzo Wo Sasageyo gesture included placing your fist against your chest.
"You found out you love me that early?" You were shocked.
Jungkook nodded, "At that time, I knew I had feelings for you, but I was too stubborn to admit it. I thought that maybe I'm just grateful to you. You gave me hope that time, you know?"
He was talking about the time he was in a depressive state after his mother fell ill. Your song touched his heart.
You bit your lips, realizing how much of an idiot you were. All the signs were already in front of you, yet you refused to see them.
Jungkook understood your expression.
"Hey," he lifted your chin. "Don't think about it anymore. I was never vocal with my feelings."
"I never told you I love you either." You kissed Jungkook's hand. "But I hope you know it now. I hope you know I love you."
"I'm not just aware of it. I feel it, too." Jungkook was so happy he could ascend to heaven right now. "And I love you too."
As it turned out, the only thing lacking in your relationship was the expression of those three words.
Jungkook wanted to hear you say you loved him. You felt the same, too.
From now on, you'd say it until the end of time.
***
As cliche as it might sound, you could proudly say time passed smoothly. You processed the legal documents until you and Jungkook were again declared Hanni's legal guardians.
Hanni was delighted. The good news happened during her fourth birthday. She felt she couldn't ask more, especially after you relented and gifted her a rabbit.
Rabbits were said to be docile animals. Unfortunately, Hanni's rabbit seemed to hate you.
The rabbit's called Daisy. It acted all sweet and cute when Jungkook and Hanni were around, but it turned hostile around you.
You expressed your grievance to your family, but they told you were overthinking it.
Until one day...
You were so busy with work that you had forgotten to feed the poor rabbit. You rushed to its hutch to feed it, but Hanni was there caressing it.
"You don't have to feed it, Mama." Hanni hugged her pet. "Mummy Sora told me she already fed Daisy."
Goosebumps pricked at your skin at that. You screamed Jungkook's name, and he attended to you at once.
"Hanni's scaring me! She said Sora fed that damn rabbit!"
"Don't be silly." Jungkook playfully pushed your shoulder before kissing it.
"It's true, Papa. I've dreamt about Mummy Sora earlier. She said she fed Daisy already."
Another wave of goosebumps attacked your skin when you saw the rabbit's food container. It was packed yesterday! Someone had already opened it!
You and Jungkook looked at each other in fear.
Hanni assured you, "Don't worry, Mama and Papa. Mummy Sora is very nice. She said she won't scare you guys."
The little girl giggled and told you to carry Daisy. "Mummy even said she talked to Daisy. Daisy will be a good girl now. She won't get angry at you."
Truth be told, the rabbit didn't snarl at you anymore. It even cooed when you touch its tiny nose.
"Yes!" You felt victorious.
Jungkook laughed at your reaction. The fear enveloping you vanished. You looked up and silently thanked your departed best friend.
Jungkook felt grateful, too. He lovingly looked at his loved ones before looking at the ceiling.
"I have a fiancée, a child, and a rabbit. What more could I ask for?"

Did I just read your Super Sons primer from 2020 at 3 am on a Monday morning because I'm having a real normal one? Maybe?! I'm wondering how you feel about how they and their relationship has developed since then. IMO it's... Pretty bleak. 😩
I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT IT. (Also here's the primer for anyone who missed it.)
So I will say that 95% of everything Jon has been in since he got aged up has been hot garbage, but I do think the exception is when Damian is around. But let's take it from the top!
First of all, I don't necessarily think they should de-age him again. Generally speaking I think it's better storytelling to focus on fixing things moving forward, rather than undoing things moving back. Sure, if DC came up with some big cosmic event that reset Jon to 11, I certainly wouldn't complain, but I'd rather see them, uh...do literally anything with Teen Jon that doesn't suck.
But yeah, aging Jon up to begin with still makes me livid because:
I want my baby to have had a childhood.
It's fully character assassination for Lois and Clark. They would NEVER let their 11-year-old go to outer space with a supervillain. Lois would NEVER just abandon him out there, and Clark would NEVER respond with "Well, I'm sure he's fine, wanna have marathon sex?" I honestly have no idea what Bendis or his editor were thinking.
They have not done a single interesting with him since!!!
Putting this behind a cut because it got LONG. Also spoilers for Beast World in there.
I've said this before, but I have to assume that Bendis wanted to age Jon up because he wanted to write a Legion book. But he also in his wisdom decided to bring Kon back into continuity at exactly the same time, which means we have two nearly identical Superboys that DC didn't and still doesn't know what to do with. Kon clearly couldn't have joined the LOSH because he already had a team, but you know what Super teen was available, and not 11, and who has a history with the Legion that goes back almost as long as Clark's? KARA. But I will save that rant for another day.
And honestly, Kara dodged a bullet, because that Legion book was unreadable. Bendis at his most Bendis-y wall of text interrupt-y conversations and no plot. If I give Tom Taylor any credit it's that the second he got his hands on Jon, he torpedoed Jon/Imra as a ship. GOOD.
And when the LOSH book finally went out with a whimper (that JLA/LOSH miniseries! what was that!!!), we entered the Taylor Era. Taylor's quirks are less stylistic and more narrative than Bendis's. You can spot Bendisian dialogue at twenty paces, but a Taylor comic tips its hand when it sets up a really interesting premise or a really high stakes threat and then immediately undercuts it with a little wet fart noise of nothing. To wit:
Jon's starting college! This will be an interesting challenge for him to readjust to normal life after six years in a torture-volcano and an indeterminate amount of time in the future, and also considering he never graduated from sixth grade. I wonder what will - oh no he dropped out after three pages. (He has done NOTHING in his civilian identity since, btw. I guess he's too busy hovering just behind Dick at all times to work on his GED or whatever.)
Jon is going to confront Ultraman! Finally the comics will have to engage with all the trauma he must have - oh no Ultraman's dead.
Jon is trapped in the Injustice Universe! This is a really dangerous universe that might make him question everything he knows about - oh he just lectured everyone and flounced off home.
Beast World is a perfect example. Taylor seems to think that having a hero effortlessly solve a problem makes them look badass, but it's actually the effort that makes them look badass. So like, we spent five months keeping the Kryptonians and other A-class heroes away from the spores because the spores are attracted to power and if a Super got spore'd everyone would be in big trouble...but then in the last issue, they just have Jon fly up to everyone with a spore in them, wait for the spore to jump at him, and catch it? That doesn't make the Titans look smart or Jon look tough. It makes all of them look like idiots because it it was that easy, why didn't they do that in the first place?
On top of that, Taylor doesn't ever really earn relationships. Jon and Jay is the obvious one. Jay has no personality. There's no chemistry between the two characters. Jon might as well be dating a cardboard cutout labeled "Proof of Queerness." (Or "Bernard." Ahem.) But we're supposed to be like, yes, give Tom Taylor a GLAAD award for using queer characters as props, when he's going to turn around and kiss Chuck Dixon's ass on social for being homophobic about Jon? UGH.
Honestly worse for me though is the Jon and Dick relationship. Because Taylor is writing both characters, we're supposed to believe that there's this close mentor-mentee bond there? I don't think they EVER interacted before the Taylor era. (And don't even look at me with that retconned-in scene of Dick finding lost baby Jon. You're telling me that Superman, with his X-ray and telescopic vision, needs to call Bruce and Dick for help finding his own son? Fuck off.)
Anyway it all combines to make basically every Jon appearance for the past three years profoundly unsatisfying. Even the stuff that isn't by Taylor never goes anywhere. Remember when he was jealous of the Super Twins for two panels? And then everyone forgot about it forever? SIGH.
HOWEVER.
However.
If there is one thing that Bendis and Taylor and every other writer got right, it's that Jon is crazy bonkers in love with Damian always and forever. Jon has been written like shit since 2019, but he has also not wavered in his devotion for even one single solitary second.
THE EVIDENCE:
This is the first thing Jon does when he gets back to Earth:
Tumblr media
He then tells Damian he's contemplating not joining the Legion because he'll have to leave Damian behind. Damian tells him to go and then come get him if it's cool.
Tumblr media
Turns out the Legion is cool. Jon comes and gets Damian. The Legion isn't happy about it and Jon threatens to leave if Damian can't stay, while gazing adoringly at Damian's unconscious body cradled in his arms:
Tumblr media
Eventually LOSH is canceled and Jon comes home and starts following Damian around by listening for his heartbeat. LIKE PALS DO!
Tumblr media
Then Damian gives him a pep talk!
Then there's this ABSOLUTE CUDDLE:
Tumblr media
The way Damian nuzzles into Jon's shoulder! Can you even stand it!
And then there's this:
Tumblr media
The climax of Son of Kal-El, btw, is one of the several times Jon is saved by Damian and confides in Damian and turns to Damian for comfort or advice...and Jay is just sort of standing there off to the side. I am fully aware I have ship goggles on but the degree of emotional investment Jon has in these relationships is not the same.
Then they had a special issue teamup:
Tumblr media
Then we got Dark Crisis, and I actually love this interaction between them, because they are very different people with very different upbringings and this feels extremely in character to me for how they would both handle the loss of their fathers:
Tumblr media
But even when they disagree, they still instantly support each other. Jon comes back with information? Damian makes a plan:
Tumblr media
Also, we got the 2022 Pride issue where Jon, Jay, and Damian go to Pride together. I know that story is...contentious...but leave me here with Damian sulking while Jon and Jay kiss, okay?
Then we get Adventures of Superman, which is objectively awful, but Jon does spend his whole time in the Injustice universe thinking about Damian like the seagulls in Finding Nemo saying "Mine? Mine? Mine?"
Tumblr media
This whole arc is truly hilarious. Jon finds out that Damian accidentally killed Dick and his response is to a) go find Batman and yell at him for not supporting Damian enough for accidentally killing Dick, and then b) go find Damian to be like "Wow, that must have been really hard for you (accidentally killing Dick)." There's being ride or die for your BFF, and then there's whatever the fuck Jon has going on.
(Meanwhile there's an incredibly uncomfortable scene with him and Injustice Jay where Jay "tests" him by trying to get Jon to cheat on regular Jay. So. That happens.)
And then just this past month we got Nightwing #110, where we learn that Jon is still listening to Damian's heart:
Tumblr media
He completely freaks out watching Damian in danger, and immediately intervenes when it looks like Damian is about to kill someone because he knows what matters the most to Damian. Also, this happens:
Tumblr media
YOU WIN THIS ONE, TAYLOR.
AND THEN THEY BICKER I LOVE IT WHEN THEY BICKER:
Tumblr media
AND THEN DAMIAN LETS HIMSELF BE VULNERABLE BY ASKING JON IF HE HURT ANYONE WHILE HE WAS A KITTY, AND JON GIVES YET ANOTHER SPEECH ABOUT HOW DAMIAN HAS NEVER DONE ANYTHING WRONG EVER, IN HIS LIFE, AND DAMIAN STAGGERS OFF, LEANING ON JON.
Tumblr media
This isn't even getting into the Trinity backup stories in Wonder Woman, which, like...Tom King is not valid but Jon and Damian are such an old married couple in them? It's truly incredible?
Tumblr media
It took me like 45 minutes to parse Jon's line here as the general 'you" and not specifically Jon saying Damian wasn't straight. But like..."That's for straight people, which has nothing to do with us" is a hell of a thing to say, Jonathan.
I ALSO haven't even talked about DCeased because it's a different universe, but! Jon sitting with Damian while he dies??? MY HEART.
IN CONCLUSION:
Yes, they should never have aged up Jon.
Yes, most of his appearances since have been terrible and bland.
But OH BOY, do he and Damian remain in love.

Hiya! Could I request some Magnus / GN! Reader shenanigans? Like the reader is trying to learn a spell (to impress Magnus), does it by "The books are just guidelines anyways", and it works. Then they go to show Magnus and confusion hell breaks loose Blease and thankyou <3<3<3

Author's Note: Magnus time! I was actually working on something just like this, so this gave me the motivation to really spruce it up and finish it. But I really apologize because when I reread your request I realized I might've gone a bit less silly than you might've wanted. I hope you still enjoy.
Relationship: Magnus the Red/Gn!Reader
Warnings: None apart from this being my first time writing Magnus so please forgive me figuring him out I'm sorry if he feels off

Sorcery is by it's very nature, finicky.
It has no solid answer, no yes or no. It's not as if it's a machine you can turn on or off, or a star you can see is alive or dead. It's an ebb and flow- something you feel.
But how do you feel something you've never felt before?
These tomes are largely nonsensical to you; The scribblings of madmen, words with no translation and sentences backwards.
You'd once again today attempted to make sense of it all, to tempt your better judgement that kept saying it maybe wasn't your most intelligent idea, but nothing has happened yet. So now you sit in bed, flicking through pages of tomes scattered across the blankets; Attempting to perhaps make enough sense of it and not bring anymore embarrassment to yourself than you already have.
In your fussiness you've already given yourself two different paper cuts, licking your wounds both physical and mental. You should probably be sleeping, the stars are out bright, and the wind gently raps against the windows as you study.
Magnus' tower is so ethereal, you look towards the window for a moment and see nothing but the midnight sky illuminating everything underneath it.
After thinking, you look back towards the oversized tome in your lap, lying on your thighs over top of a blanket. You'd picked many of the books not necessarily at random, but attempting to find the most basic of starting places from a collection that puts most others to shame. Magnus has many shelves up here, filled with his personal collection of tomes and scrolls. You sort've wish he was here to help guide you, but at the same time, you wish to surprise him to some degree.
You try just one more time, attempting to light a small ember in your palm. You follow every word exactly as the instructions- if you could call them that, and mange to hold it for only a few moments before it flickers away as if blown out by breath.
"Ugh!"
You drop your head, it coming quite close to hitting the pages of the tome.
"What is this?"
Your head suddenly whips upright, seeing Magnus himself standing in the doorway across the room. You don't know how you hadn't heard his footsteps, though you suppose you were far too distracted for your ears to prick to any other sound than what was right next to you.
Entering the room and closing the massive door behind him, Magnus takes in the scenery he's missed while aboard Photep, traveling the stars. After his quick glances he focuses on you cross legged in his bed, surrounded by opened and unopened books.
"Magnus!" He slowly walks closer to the beside, one finger brushes a tome he's clearly familiar with and opening it to a particular page; Glossing over it before he lets it gently fall back shut.
"Now, what are you concocting in that little mind of yours that requires so many spell tomes?"
Magnus watches amused as you close the book in your lap, legs cross underneath it and look at your slightly burned palm.
"I was trying to call fire. But it seems it's a bit harder than I thought." His smile fades a bit softer, watching your expression. The fabric of his robes is weaved with gold string that shines in the soft candle light.
"You seem to have had it, from what I saw."
You can feel his long red hair brush against your arm as he sits beside you, his massive height and weight difference forcing the appropriately massive bed to dip heavily to his side. It almost makes you roll, but you quickly adjust to prevent that. Now in your atmosphere it's a bit easier to look him in the eye, but you still have to crane your next a decent bit.
"I was following the tomes exactly like they said, and the best I can do is a little baby kindling. I'd have trouble even setting a letter alight."
You look up towards him, hands playing with the edges and filigree of the old, worn tome in your lap. Magnus speaks up, his tone curious and a bit surprised.
"Exactly?"
His eye glances down to the front cover of the tome in your hand, and recognizes that one instantly. With one hand, he gently reaches underneath the covers and gently clamps the tome shut, the top of his hand laying against your thighs before he pulls the tome towards his chest.
"Then you are taking it all far too literally." Perhaps the book shouldn't be written so literally then, you rebelliously think. He lays the tome aside, and uses the same hand to gently cup your jaw between his fingers and look up at him.
"it's far more of a feeling that anything, my love. If you keep just following the tomes, you might end up burning something down. Or as you've noticed, burning nothing at all." He lets out a laugh, feeling your cheeks move under his finger tips.
"I never thought you to be so studious in following directions. Perhaps you'd prefer Primarch Guilliman to myself?" You let out a harsh puff of air through your closed lips, making an insulting noise. Your hand grips his wrist and tries to pull it away, but to no avail, and instead you just grip the massive muscles of his arm and scowl.
"Funny."
He smiles wider. How you speak to him so casually now, compared to months ago. Perhaps his teasing makes it easier for you to forget who he is. He doesn't mind it.
A testament to your determination, you'd been able to cast something despite a lack of knowledge; But you could do well in having someone set you on the right path. Afterall, Magnus knows simply treating something with such an ebb and flow as sorcery as rules you can memorize will never bear any fruit.
Magnus can guide you, and truthfully, he would love for nothing more than to.
His sons don't need to be taught. They learn from his actions, and most are more than capable of progressing on their own and honing their own skills. To be able to teach his beloved something that is such a core part of himself, to guide your hand and your mind to touch something greater- he finds himself almost, dare he say excited.
He's rough on his sons, he knows they can take it. That they're built for sorceries and touching the warp. But with you he'll have to be gentle. The thought of it, to sit with you and show you wondrous things that your home planet kept from your eyes, he would start right now if not for one thing.
Magnus lets go of your jaw. He leans down and gently brushes a kiss against your temple, his fire red hair brushing against your skin again.
"Now, as much as I don't wish to part you from your reading, I have returned from Terra at my absolute wits end and desiring some rest." He smiles and vaguely gestures to the mess you've made of his bed during his absence. He can see other little messes throughout his chambers, as well.
"So my love, perhaps you could move your research, off the bed?"

Hi, I need an outsider's pov of postwar luztoye please, if that seems interesting enough to distract you from other tasks. 😅 Maybe a little old lady who lives next door and brings those nice boys a pie sometimes because George fixed her radio while Joe let her talk his ear off about her son who doesn't visit?
bestie i took this and RAN with it, so i'm hoping this is okay and/or what you were thinking! it got... longer, than i was expecting, but i hope you enjoy <3
---
It’s been lonely, since Lulu died.
The mutt managed to make it seventeen years before kicking it, so she counts it as a victory as best she can.
Still, the apartment is often too quiet, so she’s grateful for the book club, even if her guest is quieter than the dead dog.
Book club is probably pushing it, as at best it’s a mangy meeting to discuss books that neither of them necessarily enjoy.
Still, they’re classics, and she’d like to read them at least once before she herself kicks it. Toye doesn’t seem prone to disagree with her, anyways, just sits grudgingly in the chair across from her, one crutch propped up against the armrest and the other in his lap
She looks over at him, amused. There’s a dark dip between his brows, a telltale sign of focus where focus isn’t necessarily wanted.
“You can just pretend to read it, you know.” She says. It takes him a moment to look up at her, to pull away from the page.
“What? Oh.” He looked down at the open book in his lap. Her own was kept steady with her palm to its spine. “No, it’s fine.” Silence, for a beat. A pause. “It’s okay. It’s — this is George’s favorite.” He goes back to reading.
She’d figured as much. The copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray that he’d shown up with was obviously well-loved: the spine cracked and pressed white, yellowing pages littered with pencil markings. Toye treats it like a landmine, like it's liable to break completely in his hands.
She presses back her smile and looked down at her own copy, newly bought. “Alright.” She murmurs, and that's that.
---
They’d moved in maybe a year and a half ago, and the only reason she knew who either of them were at all was because she’d tripped down the last two steps outside of her own building and the one with two legs had seen her and helped her back up and to her own place.
The rest didn’t really matter, and she found it rather boring. What matters is that she invited the one with two legs up for dinner as a form of gratitude and he’d shown up with the one with one leg that looked a little rougher around the edges and that was that.
---
The one with two legs was Luz, who worked every day, and the other one was Toye, who worked every three days. On Fridays, Toye would come over for her self proclaimed book club with whatever she’d deigned best to read.
“I think it’s a load of crock.” She tells Toye on one of these Fridays, flipping through her pick of the week distastefully. “Overall written alright, but underall it’s garbage. What a worthless read.”
Toye is always generous enough not to mention that she’s always the one to choose the books. “I think there could be a point to it.” He says, always hoarser than she’d think he’d sound, and he talks so very little that she should probably be less tetchy. Still, bad habits are hard to break, and she scoffs.
“Yeah, and what would that be? Fate or God’s plan? Because neither seem to be good and neither are anything close to happening, no matter how much you pray.” She flipped through another few pages disdainfully. Toye’s own copy sat carefully in his lap, and he deigned not to touch it, tapping his fingers instead against the wood of the crutch that stayed across his lap.
“I don’t know.” He said, glanced out of her window. She knew why, and didn’t have to follow his gaze. The only reason that Luz had seen her at all when she had fallen was because they lived directly across from each other, right down to the building's story and window make. “There’s a testament to things falling into place.”
There’s something fragile resting along the lines of his face, and she has to pause for a moment, remind herself how utterly young he is. How young the both of them are.
She has a husband in a cemetery she isn’t able to get to anymore, because the streets are too crowded and her knees are too bad, and a son that’s lost forever in the mud in some godforsaken island in the Pacific, and if praying could have prevented that, they’d still be with her.
She doesn’t say any of that. She watches Toye’s face carefully before huffing and looking back down to her own book. “I want to read another Shakespeare, next.” She says. “I think he’s an overrated rats’ ass, and you can quote me on that.”
---
On the same Friday’s where she hosts book club, Luz will come by after he’s done at wherever he works with some sort of tupperware of something and they’ll eat dinner with her.
She’d never tell them, but it feels less like an embarrassing sort of pity, when one of them only has one leg.
“I think that he was a hack, God rest his soul.” She tells them one day, because they’ll listen to her, and she was thinking about it earlier, and there wasn’t even Lulu to tell. “I mean, do all you want and bow to him in whatever, but he was a right fool. I think that it was that wife of his that kept him in line, more than anything.”
Luz is smiling into his own bowl of food, and he’s prone to doing that. He won’t look at her, like he’s worried he’ll burst out laughing if he does, but she doesn’t mind. She came to the conclusion a long time ago that he just likes laughing, and she won’t care much if he does so because of her.
Toye’s always more serious, nods and is able to meet her face and send annoyed looks at the man at his elbow, who usually sits on the floor next to her stuffed armchair. “Eleanor’s a hell of a lady.” He says, and she nods at him, approving.
“She was the real one, if you ask me.” She says, and Luz coughs a bit into his bowl and coughs a bit more lightheartedly when Toye’s hand comes down to shove at his shoulder.
---
On the days that Toye works, and only in the wintertime, Luz sometimes visits by himself.
She has a sneaking suspicion that he’s intimidated by her, in some way, or something about her apartment is off putting. She doesn’t care all that much. He’s a nice enough boy, and he helped her back up the stairs, but she’s always had more of a proclivity for the quiet ones.
In the winter, he tends to be more of one of those himself, paler and usually scruffier than usual.
He looks so on the day that he knocks on her door and when she opens it, he looks like he hasn’t shaved in three days and eaten in six.
“Dear God.” She says, and steps back from the door to usher him in before he can freeze her apartment. “You look like a transient.”
She never paid much attention to what was going on in the Atlantic, other than the newsreels (which she never went to) and by word of mouth from her friends (which she didn’t have) and newspapers and magazines (which she rarely left the house to get).
Her war, like it was her boy's war, was with the islands, and when he died, her study of it died with him.
Still, she knew enough to recognize that Europe could get cold and that hollow eyes are often related to that ice.
Luz doesn’t laugh nearly as much in the wintertime, or smile, and she can’t even get him to crack half of one, even when she deigns to instead criticize Toye, which usually works.
“Oh, for Gods’ sake.” She ends up saying today, hips aching and irritated. “Now I have to waste coffee on you. Perfectly good waste, most of it is going to end up in that… thing, on your face.”
She doesn’t like beards. Never did like it when her boy grew one, said it made him look more grown-up than she’d allow.
Luz still doesn’t smile.
Fifteen minutes later, she sits with him in the overstuffed armchairs and wonders about what boys still find funny when he asks her, quite out of the blue, “What do you do when you miss someone?”
She blinks.
“Well, I’m sad about it.” She says, and when Luz just stares down at the mug she’d pushed onto him, rather desolate looking, she sighs and tries to think of something else to say. “I get angry. Or I knit. Or I look through my photos. Missing someone isn’t a glove. Why?”
Luz huffs, but it isn’t exactly happy. She doesn’t like it when Toye has to leave. He always seems happier, when the other one is around. The creases around his eyes aren’t so frustratingly deep.
“Nothing.” He says, and his voice is hoarse. “Just thinking about people who’re gone.”
She watches him, critical. God, she hopes he shaves before she sees him again. It’s really just improper.
“They never found my son's body.” She tells him. “Or they did, and they lied to me. Either way, he left and he’s gone and I barely have anything of him but what I remember and what he wore. So you find things that help you do more than obsess over those things.” She thinks of Lulu, of her soft fur and the way that she’d lick at her face. “And that’ll be gone before you know it, too, so you have to appreciate it all. You can’t afford to stop loving things in the world just because someone you love is no longer in it.”
She stares back down at her cup.
Luz clears his throat, and when she looks up, he cracks half of a smile at her awkwardly. His eyes are dark, there isn’t much light there. “Thank you.” He says, and she wishes she hadn’t told him about her boy. Still, she feels warm.
“Good god, child.” She says, anyways. “Go home and shave. You look like some sort of Hungarian.”
Luz doesn’t laugh, but looks like he might have, if it wasn’t wintertime.
---
Later on in the same night, they’re up later than they usually are, and she only knows it because she’s trying to get through a chapter for book club on Friday and she can see their silhouettes through their lit up window, light and orange and slightly blurry.
She doesn’t watch them for long, doesn’t want to pry.
Luz’s arms are around Toye’s neck, his face dropped down to his shoulder. Toye’s arms are wrapped fully around him, maybe more for balance than anything else. The way they’re turning, it looks like they're dancing. She wonders to what music.
She used to dance like that, with her husband. That was how she taught her boy, as he stood on top of her shoes and she held his little hands.
She shuffles back over to the armchair and goes back to reading her book. She doesn’t like this one either.
---
One day, she thinks they might be arguing.
Toye comes over on a Thursday night, instead of a Friday, and looks rather tired. It’s springtime, which is why she’s more hesitant about letting him in, but he’s shaved, so she allows it.
“Could I stay over for the night?” He asks her, voice raspy. “I’d – I hate to ask, but—”
She squints at him. “You’re the one with one leg.” She says. “Shouldn’t he be leaving?” Toye coughs. He shifts on his crutches, glances vaguely over his shoulder in a way that makes him look rather guilty.
“No, it’s—” He starts, and cuts himself off. “I want him to stay in the apartment.” He looks vaguely embarrassed. She squints at him again, but in the end just starts moving back towards her armchair.
“Fine.” She says. “I like you better than I like him, anyways.”
---
She tosses a bunch of moth-eaten blankets from the closet onto the floor and tells Toye good luck with standing back up and gets to bed. Toye looks strangely pleased about her rudeness, so she keeps that in mind and makes note to tell him that he needs a haircut tomorrow.
---
Toye stays over the whole day and helps her with small things and she tells him that he needs a haircut, and needs to shave, and needs to go outside more, and needs to get a better job, and needs better crutches, and should wear his fake leg more often, and a dozen other things before they sit down to read and do so for hours.
Book club lasts much longer than it usually does, but when there’s the usual knock at the door, albeit more tentative, Toye looks up and looks, again, so painfully young that she sort of wants to smack him for it.
She doesn’t. She pushes to her feet and complains the whole way to the door.
Luz doesn’t have food, and he barely says hello, just looks right past her to Toye, says in a soft, hoarse voice that she thinks means that he’s been smoking and that he wants to talk.
She looks from him, to Toye, to him again, and decides to stay out of it. “Get out of here, the both of you.” She says. “And clean up, before I see you again. You both have jobs, you know.”
---
She doesn’t see them for maybe three or four days after that, doesn’t even see them entering or exiting their own building. She wonders if one or both of them are sick, but thinks they might just be locked up in their own apartment for some godforsaken reason.
They don’t emerge for days and Luz is the first one that she sees, looking more relaxed than he has since the wintertime. He waves at her, but doesn’t spend too much time outside. Just pitches a cigarette over his shoulder and skips back up to the apartment, and that’s the last she sees of either of them for another two days.
She supposes they’ve made up.
---
She only goes over to their apartment once.
It’s alright. Rather homely.
There’s only one chair in the sitting room, which is rather ridiculous, though every time she’s seen him, Luz usually insists on sitting on the floor, so she supposes that may be a part of it. The kitchen is small, rather boring. A whiteboard sits on top of the fridge, tracking something by tally marks that she’s not privy to knowing. They don’t let her into either of the bedrooms, and she doesn’t care much to investigate.
“You, uh.” Luz tells her awkwardly, hands in his pockets, mouth quirked up in his forever-grin. “We could start eating here, if you’d like.”
She wrinkles her nose at the cracked open fire escape and the dishes in the sink and the crooked blanket on the chair. “I’m quite alright.” She says, and decides not to come back.
(There’s one of those song-players on a table off to the side, however. It looks more expensive than anything else in the apartment. Underneath it is a basket, and the only vinyl she’s able to make out is one of Billie Holliday.
Ugh. Figures.)
---
They come over every Friday for two years and she sees them more often than that, and as soon as something changes, she can tell immediately. It annoys her.
She knows right off the bat because Toye’s wearing his prosthetic, which he never does, and Luz is shaved, which doesn’t matter much, because his hair is still much too long.
“Where’s the house at?” She asks him, after barely another two minutes, because she’s connected the dots and doesn’t want to wait for them to be explained to her.
Luz is the one, for once, to pause. Toye turns to look at him, face doing the same sort of lined, barely held back guarded emotion that it often throws up around the other man before he looks back at her, hesitates.
“It’s, uh.” He says. She sighs, wants to tell him to knock it off with the pausing. “In Bedford. It’s—”
He keeps talking, and she deigns to ignore him to instead watch Luz, the way he looks at Toye. It’s the same sort of emotion, barely lined, making him heavier.
She wonders if her boy got to care so much about someone, before he was killed.
“Alright.” She says, maybe with a sigh, holds up a hand and decides that’s that. She’ll miss book club, but if she truly gave a rats ass, she’d join a real one. Maybe she will, now. “Make sure you pack enough. And shave. You have jobs.”
Toye’s smile is a crooked curve, and Luz’s takes over his whole face. She looks at both of them, unimpressed.
“Write to me, if you want.” She says. “Or visit. God knows I’m not going anywhere.”
She’s not, either. Maybe she’ll get another Lulu.
---
They leave on a Wednesday, which annoys her only because it’s such a random day to leave somewhere, with some sort of boring car packed with trunks in the middle of the summer.
She watches from the steps of her own building, arms crossed, and gives them advice on how to best stack the luggage, which they don’t follow.
“They’re all going to fall out and you’ll be left with broken and dirty things, and then you’ll see who’s in the right.” She tells Toye, who’s closer, annoyed. His mouth twitches, but he doesn’t say anything.
Luz looks back at them and smiles, but she knows he’s not looking at her.
---
She stands on the steps until it’s time for them to leave, and she hates dilly-dallying, so she rushes through the goodbyes by patting Luz’s cheek and grimacing at the stubble there. He looks like he might laugh at her.
She lets Toye get a step further and give her half of a hug, which she’s also not a fan of but allows anyways.
He watches her with those careful, dark eyes and says, very punctually, “Thanks, Moira.”
She waves him off. “You should be thanking me for trying to help you with the luggage.” She says, pointed. “Off you go. Get a dog. God knows there’s enough of them running around.”
From a few feet behind Toye, Luz laughs.
---
She can see their silhouettes, as they get in the car. Can see what looks like Toye kissing Luz on the cheek. She grimaces.
It must have been a horrid kiss. He never does shave enough.

How much do the Golden Company know about Aegon? There is reference to Illyrio's ever-changing plans, and there seems to have been a deal in place for a long time, given that it was Myles Toyne that had guaranteed Golden Company support. And yet, for all Illyrio's talk of contracts writ in blood, it would be stupid for him to let anyone at the Golden Company know Aegon isn't Rhaegar's son.
It certainly appears that the (for now theorized) truth of Aegon's Blackfyre heritage, with all the accompanying strategizing, has not trickled down to, say, the Tristan Rivers level:
"Which plan?" said Tristan Rivers. "The fat man's plan? The one that changes every time the moon turns? First Viserys Targaryen was to join us with fifty thousand Dothraki screamers at his back. Then the Beggar King was dead, and it was to be the sister, a pliable young child queen who was on her way to Pentos with three new-hatched dragons. Instead the girl turns up on Slaver's Bay and leaves a string of burning cities in her wake, and the fat man decides we should meet her by Volantis. Now that plan is in ruins as well.["]
That said, there was at least one member of the Golden Company who seems to have known the truth - Myles Toyne. Harry Strickland refers to Toyne entering into a "secret pact", a reference which aligns closely with Illyrio's teasing allusion to contracts writ in blood and Jon Connington's thought that "[t]he plans that he [i.e. Varys] and Illyrio had made with Blackheart had been known to them alone". Myles Toyne, scion of a family with a long history of resentment toward House Targaryen, himself perhaps having served in the Golden Company under the last of the Blackfyres, may well have figured a Blackfyre restoration would best serve him, his band of exiled Westerosi, and the spirit of the Golden Company; there was, at least, some personal motivation Myles appears to have had to agree to the Aegon plot with Illyrio. (Alas for Jon Connington, who therefore never suspected that his much-loved Myles was likely fighting to restore not his dead love Rhaegar's son but a descendant of the Black Dragon.)
Do I think Harry Strickland probably knows about Aegon being a Blackfyre? Yes. Strickland's knowledge of the existence of Toyne's "secret pact", coupled with Strickland's own longstanding familial loyalty to the Blackfyre cause and his position as the Golden Company's commander, all suggest to me that Harry is best positioned of anyone within the Golden Company to be entrusted with the knowledge that Aegon is, in whatever manner, descended from Daemon Blackfyre. If Illyrio needed the military support of the Golden Company, he may well have figured it was a necessity, if not a particular desire, to bring Strickland into the conspiracy. (Again, the secrecy emphasized by Varys to Jon Connington might have worked both ways here, keeping the Rhaegar-loyal Jon as much out of the Blackfyre loop as Jon himself thinks the Golden Company's men might have been toward Aegon-as-Rhaegar's-son; if Jon didn't need to know, Strickland certainly wasn't about to disillusion him.)
Do I think anyone else within the Golden Company necessarily knows? Eh, too little to say. The officer corps of the Golden Company certainly knew, before Jon Connington introduced the boy anyway, about our Aegon's cover story as Aegon Targaryen, son of Rhaegar and Elia, but whether they understand this only to be a cover story is still unclear. There are any number in that officer corps who don't appear to have any ancestral connections to the Blackfyre cause (e.g. Lysono Maar, Black Balaq, or Gorys Edoryen), and still others who, while Westerosi, may or may not know or care about restoring the Blackfyres. I'm not saying any of these could or could not have been let in on the secret, only that there's too little, I think, to say right now.

Does the "This is all a dream orchestrated by Malleus" relate to the Yuuverse with all the Yuus repeatedly going through the story over and over again? I have seen people theorize that every time a Yuu fails, a new one starts over and I'm too sleepy to actually relate this theory to the new events that just transpired.
I think you’re talking about two popular but different theories? 🤔 (Though now it definitely seems like those two theories are converging into one…?)
There were some that believed in the time loop theory. Some powerful entity (usually said to be Crowley) summons new Yuus every time the Yuu from the previous time loop fails and/or dies. It is said that the resets usually occur when Yuu is killed by an Overblot, with the most common “death by Overblot” owing to Grim. Some also embellish the theory with ideas about Crowley’s motives and whether he is a good person or not.
There is an extension of time loop theory—the “Yuu is dead” theory; in “Yuu is dead”, the player character is theorized to be someone who died while crossing the road (yup, an isekai classic; the manga and light novel Yuu all got transported at a crosswalk), and Crowley summoned them into Twisted Wonderland after their passing to serve his own needs. Sometimes people will point to Yuu emerging from a coffin and/or Crowley avoiding the topic of bringing them home (since it’s impossible due to their “dead” status) as proof of Yuu being dead. Both time loop and Yuu is dead theory primarily stem from the many iterations of Yuus across various official TWST media (the manga, the light novel, etc).
Others believed in the dream theory, in which (much like the original Alice in Wonderland), everything in Twisted Wonderland is just a dream that someone is having. There are variations of the dream theory depending on who the dreamer is, but the most common ones I’ve seen assign the designation of dreamer to either Yuu (who has been having prophetic dreams in the main story) and Malleus (whose Disney counterpart is strongly associated with inducing sleep). Sometimes dream theory also includes evidence backed up by Silver, who appears to have some kind of vague association with Yuu and their dreams. It is worth noting that some fans do not like dream theory because they feel that it devalues the experiences had and the relationships formed if nothing was “real”.
As I said before (given what we know of the most recent main story update), it seems like people are now combining different aspects of those two theories to make a new one. The update is still pretty fresh, so I haven’t yet had the time to read up and acclimate myself with the various time loop-dream theory combinations.
One thing that I will note is interesting is??? I remember Yana saying a few years ago that we should treat TWST’s events and vignettes as AUs separate from the main story, and at the time I thought it was to make things easier for the writing team (so they didn’t have to worry about timeline stuff). But now???? I’m wondering if every event and vignette was actually a part of the dream world… The evidence is (sort of??) there!!
I normally wouldn’t include gameplay mechanics as part of a theory (since I compartmentalize meta from the story/characters/lore), but I feel that the gloves are off for this since Malleus initiated what was essentially a fourth-wall break at the end of 7-37 (booting us back to the main screen of Twisted Wonderland after forcing everyone to sleep). The part where he casts his spell is even named “Forced Game Over”, which is very on the nose for a character who is not tied to technology other than being really bad at using it. He also says a lot of foreboding things about how “it would be better for fictional characters to stay as they are forever” (not an exact translation, I’m just generalizing).
AnYWAY, my thought is??? Are the events and/or vignettes meant to be the characters dreaming (not that Malleus necessarily created the dream world, but the dream world is like their collective unconscious and/or everyone having individual dream/their own iterations)???? Because Malleus promises to send them to a world where they can be “heroes”, a place where they can find “happy endings”, where no one has to leave. Most events and/or vignettes have very carefree vibes to them or just generally non-serious conflicts. They’re usually full of tales of carefree school days.
The vignettes and events also being part of the dream world also explains why Lilia (whose magic was supposedly waning is still able to use his quite proficiently), and why some characters who would normally be somewhat hostile towards each other seem more mellowed out in some events (ie Epel and Vil having an amicable relationship in the first Halloween event when they didn’t learn to get along until episode 5, which takes place in late winter). It would also explain why sometimes main story happenings are referenced in vignettes and events, but the vignette and event happenings are not mentioned in the main story. Characters are bringing knowledge of reality into the dreams, but when they “awaken” from those dreams, they cannot recall all the details from them.
Another detail that’s pretty suspicious is the animation that plays when you’re Groovying a card 👁️ 👄 👁️ What covers the screen when you do??? That’s right—thorns, just like when Malleus casted his unique magic. Was this TWST’s indirect way of cluing us in that the whole damn game was just a dream?????? The title whenever we boot up the game was staring at us in the face with the “answer” all along: Twisted Wonderland. A dreamy place full of wonders—but just that, a dream.
xbsjsvwisview. JUST SoMETHING TO THINK ABOUT, I DuNNO 🤡 Sorry for sounding like a college professor lecturing on Disney pretty boys—

this comes up as one of the top results for the hua cheng google search so every time i have to google hua cheng for art reference purposes i see this thing n i have never clicked it to see the whole thing but just enough of what's read there is enough to torment me
like it's so. like. LIKE. NO
to start, he's not necessarily unlucky, he makes everyone around him unlucky; it's stated by the state preceptor as 'brings misfortune to everyone save himself.' the solitary star in chinese fortune telling is called that because you may end up living a solitary life either by choice or through outside forces, and spells misfortune for family members. it particularly brings misfortune to your parents, which is why his mom is dead. but his star reading is so fucked that he likely brings misfortune to his spouse too, which is why the moment he meets xie lian, everything goes wrong for xianle and by extension xie lian (and you can say 'ah well it's simply all jun wu's fault - but jun wu only noticed him because xie lian was unlucky enough to catch his sights after fighting that ghost for days.)
but in chinese fortune telling, luck is only partially about the circumstances of your birth, it's also about your mindset and the environment you are in. this is a running theme in tgcf; luck and fate isn't all just set in stone. you make your own luck.
hua cheng has something to look forward to and devote himself to and also runs away from his family after he and xie lian meet, so he isn't quite so toxic as time goes on. but he still exists in solitude every time he pops up in the backstory, even when he's unnamed. and he dies before 19. and he still gets essentially annihilated as a ghost.
his luck only changes when xie lian shackles his own luck with the intention that that luck get redirected to others around him (ie the opposite of hua cheng's solitary star, that brings misfortune to everyone around him). he wasn't lucky until THAT point. it's at THAT point where even when all accounts he should be annihilated, he isn't. it's that point where he can create e'ming and become a god and then see nothing but success. because there's no one that's ever closer to xie lian than hua cheng. the luck floods right to him. xie lian said once if two people are fighting over one cup of water, he'd just give them his own; he follows through with that with the shackle, and hua cheng's cup of luck overflows as a result.
guy sees nothing but double 6's when he rolls dice, insanely lucky. the only time he rolls and sees anything less - snake eyes - is when it's fated that xie lian's shackle breaks. and when that happens, when xie lian's shackle breaks, he essentially immediately almost ends up getting annihilated just because he used up too much energy. everyone thinks this is so sudden; it's sudden because the guy's luck ran out because it wasn't his to begin with.
but again. chinese fortune telling is only one part fate. and by then hua cheng is not that abused, poor little boy. he is a god, feared by all, with immense fortune, with a giant city at his beck and call, and with a person that loves him crying and begging him not to leave him. and he's spent 800 years cultivating his devotion for xie lian, and truly believing he makes his own luck. his own work and the help xie lian had given him made him lucky enough that he isn't held back by a bad fortune.
i'm not even saying anything that isn't said by the books themselves but i'm still on it. every time i see that damn preview of that page. it makes no sense. if his star sign was "reversed" by meeting xie lian then why did he spend the rest of his life alone, still getting his ass beat by everyone around him, before then just dying unceremoniously on a battlefield before reaching age 19???
edit: also sidenote it's a marriage thing. to drink from the same cup is a reference to a chinese wedding tradition where the bride and groom drink from the same cup to symbolize their lives are intertwined. that's the reason why luck is spoken about as a cup to be shared in the story. it's subtext that xie lian and hua cheng are fated spouses, since one of the words for it, hejin, "to drink from the same cup," also means "marriage"

Updates to Concept
// My writing process for Gallagher has been something of an experiment, so I've been making changes and trying new things continuously over the past 6 months. I haven't really made any official notes about it, but at this point, he's far enough away from my initial concept that I thought I should bring up the changes for those who might still think I'm writing him that way. Especially with the lore event and the potential to interact with new and old faces on the horizon.
This all, of course, is subject to change over the next several months now that Mr. Reca has been officially introduced and I wait for hoyo to prove or disprove a connection between them.
(Some mild 2.2 and 2.6 spoilers below)
First off, now that we know that Mr. Reca was likely the director for the Penacony main story, this opens up the possibility for Gallagher, as a virtual character, to have been created by Mr. Reca specifically for the story with the Trailblazer, and that Gallagher doesn't have any real connection to Mikhail or Penacony's history. This would mean that everything about him, not just parts, is completely fabricated and that he's basically Mr. Reca's OC for his Penacony fanfic. Cool concept, however, this possibility has me screaming into a cup (/neg) when it comes to RP.
None of my current HCs involve this theory. I'm simply putting it here as a disclaimer in case you see me completely rebuilding my concept for Gallagher in 3 or 4 months.
Changes in bullet format:
I'm no longer writing Gallagher as an avatar for an off-screen History Fictionologist. From now on in my writing, italics won't denote this faceless History Fictionologist's thoughts or make any sort of separation between character and creator. Gallagher is simply Gallagher.
My current concept is that Gallagher the character and Gallagher the History Fictionologist are one and the same. His persona and history are half fabricated, his appearance is entirely fabricated, and he's the figure responsible for creating the story about the Watchmaker and his legacy. A new NPC (Ligeia) in Paperfold Academy talks about "a group of History Fictionologists" kidnapping Sunday, and while this rumor is about Sunday disappearing from the Grand Theater and not from Dewlight Pavilion, the fact that the Death of the Crow readable that she references is found in Dreamflux Reef in 2.2 instead of the Grand Theater gives me reason enough to believe that the "group of History Fictionologists" is indeed Gallagher. Likewise, this now gives a steadier foundation for connecting him to other instances when a "group of History Fictionologists" is mentioned, such as the attack on the amusement park. For the record, I don't necessarily think that "Gallagher" is an individual or a collective. I believe that these rumors are just imperfect reflections of "his" influence.
Related to the above, I write Gallagher akin to a spirit of Penacony. The person we see in the story is 1) Trailblazer privilege and 2) a mode of communication. How he appears changes per person, and I've already begun to reference in threads this idea that he may look like Gallagher the Bloodhound or Gallagher the Drinksmith to one person, while at the same time appearing like a statue of a Hound to a passerby. His appearance is nebulous.
Gallagher, like the Origami Birds and other memetic entities, only shows himself to others when he wants. He doesn't "live" like an ordinary person and is more like an on-off switch, appearing when he's needed and disappearing when he has nothing to do. Like a Memokeeper, he can exist like this outside of Penacony, and I've completely gotten rid of the idea that he'll change his identity and name if he goes elsewhere. Felt weird for me to write. Gallagher is Gallagher.
Post-2.2, Gallagher the character is "dead" in Penacony, but in GH he's still kicking around. I'm updating what I wrote back in July about how he exists and doesn't know why to say that he hasn't changed, but everyone else's memories of him have. Everyone who had contact with him should believe that he's dead or gone, but he can still be found in Penacony if one looks hard enough. For those who never met him in canon, it doesn't really matter. To them, Gallagher's story never happened, so meeting a drinksmith named Gallagher would just be like meeting any other random person. For those who did know him, however, I'll leave it up to the mun to recognize him post 2.2 or not. Enigmata obscures memory and perception, so in most cases he will be merely "the bartender" or "the Bloodhound" until the other character sees through the fog and calls him by the name they know him by. After which, he'll appear to them as Gallagher.
To simulate the idea of fictionalized history, I'll be writing Gallagher's posts exclusively in past tense starting with the next thread I start. Usually I match my partner's tense, but in this case, I want to capture the concept of something that has already happened and been recorded, but has been edited in some way afterwards.
I think that's all for now, inb4 I come back in 2 months to completely rewrite this

Hello! Equal Lady again! ^u^
What if a Dorf's ELady wife didn’t necessarily understand her husband's desire to conquer Hyrule, but at the same time, she will support him so long as he doesn't cross her biggest line? (Don't abuse/kill kids.)
But other than that, she holds his face gently in her hands & presses her forehead to his (remember the dual marks & what they symbolize) before pulling back, saying, “I don't really understand why you want Hyrule so much, but ai shiteru, so if this is what you want & it'll make you happy, then I'm behind you 100%.” She then presses a sweet, chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth & gives a tiny smile.
(Note that the Sheikah are, by & large, a very “show, don't tell” sort of people when it comes to romance. And “Ai shiteru” is essentially their equivalent to “A'nï màtushàq'so” as it translates to something very, very similar; i.e. “I love you deeply” or “I am deeply in love with you.” Meaning that they very much do not use this phrase very often at all, often in fear that it will cause the words to become meaningless. As such, when it is used, there is quite a lot of weight behind it. So, knowing this, Ganondorf knows that she means it with every fiber of her being because she normally verbally expresses her love for him in either his tongue or in Hyrulean Common.)
“So, let us get you that throne, hm? My question is, what next? What do we do after Hyrule is yours? We must prepare ourselves for what will be needed to bring your goals into reality. Of course, I have some suggestions. However, I wish to know what it is that my beloved king wishes to do next. What is your vision for the future of this kingdom? What sort of infrastructure, military or otherwise, do you perceive in your mind when you look forward years into the future?"
Hello my dear Equal Lady ^w^ A pleasure to converse with you again. You always come up with such good asks, and I love seeing the little aspects of Equal Lady's personality come to life.
Windwaker Ganondorf would explain his history with Hyrule, and his desire to bring it above the waves. He explains the oceans are dead, nothing to bring life to the world, and with Hyrule reborn, he would bring back the races of old, including his beloved Gerudo and the Sheikah. Right now, that is his goal.
OoT Ganondorf would go on a rant about the abuse towards the Gerudo and keeping them from the lands of Hyrule. He boasts that when he is King of Hyrule, he would bring them prosperity and life that they could never achieve in the desert. Then he would more than likely offer the title of Chief of the Sheikah to his beloved lady, as Impa would never bow to his crown. So... she gots to go, lol.
Twilight Princess Ganondorf explains how everything fell apart, how he was sentenced to death (big success that was) and how he never saw his dreams realized. He explains that for one man's deeds, his entire people were tortured and slaughtered. It was only fair he repaid Hyrule for it's sentence and show things his way.
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf, I feel, was more attuned to Demise than other iterations. He is driven to conquer and demolish Hyrule, but there is no real explanation on why. He knows he wants it, but no real thought afterward to what he would like to do when he had it. With Equal Lady's guidance, maybe he could conquer and actually be a good ruler. Or if she's content with his desires for death, she would watch him slaughter and destroy with a cup of tea in hand.
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf is all about the strongest should lead, so when he rules, its to return to the "Strong rules over the weak." He may implement stronger armies, rougher training, and ensure everyone has a weapon of sorts. He doesn't want them dead, he wants them to be strong, to provide a good fight. The man wants a challenge! Which is why Equal lady can handle the other stuff that's not fighting or strengthening one's self when she is Queen at his side.
AND NOW, FROM OUR OTHER CO-HOST, CHATGPT:
Wind Waker Ganondorf

Explanation: He would take her hands in his, looking into her eyes with a rare, genuine smile. "My love, my desire for Hyrule is born from the suffering of our people and the dreams of a better future. Hyrule has always been a symbol of hope and prosperity, something our people have been denied. I seek to change that."
Vision for the Future: "Once Hyrule is ours, I envision a kingdom where the Gerudo are no longer outcasts but integral parts of this land. Vision for the Future: "Once Hyrule is ours, I will transform it into a realm of strength and unity. We will forge alliances and build a formidable military. The infrastructure will be modern and expansive, ensuring every citizen benefits from our rule. Our reign will bring stability and prosperity, guided by your wisdom and my strength."
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf
Reaction: Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf would be both pleased and intrigued by his wife's declaration. Her commitment and the depth of her love would bolster his confidence and reinforce his belief in their shared destiny.
Explanation: He would kiss her gently before speaking. "My beloved queen, Hyrule is the heart of power in this world. To conquer it is to control the destiny of all lands. My ambition is not just for conquest but for the creation of a realm where power and wisdom are revered."
Vision for the Future: "With Hyrule as our base, we will build an empire. Our military will be the mightiest, our cities the most magnificent. We will promote learning and innovation, ensuring our dominance in all fields. Together, we will create a legacy that will be remembered for millennia, where our people thrive and our enemies tremble."
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf
Reaction: Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf would feel an intense mixture of pride and gratitude. Her support and the profound expression of her love would resonate deeply with him, solidifying his resolve and his love for her.
Explanation: He would hold her close, his voice filled with conviction. "My queen, Hyrule is the key to the world's balance. Its conquest is not just a desire but a necessity to bring about the change we need. I seek to unite the lands under a rule that understands power and compassion."
Vision for the Future: "Once Hyrule is ours, I envision a kingdom where all races coexist in strength and harmony. Our military will be unmatched, our infrastructure unparalleled. We will foster a culture of respect and progress, ensuring that our reign brings prosperity and peace. With you by my side, we will create a future where our legacy endures and our people flourish."

Rant about JJK 261 leaks and mild spoilers. Just ignore unless you're passionate about stories like I am or wanna hear what I say or both. This is very, VERY long.
Tumblr media
Bro, listen.
LISTEEEN.
I'm not mad at Gege, writing is HARD. Like, legitimately! It's SO difficult to bring a vision - an entire unique world with complex characters - to fruition and CONTINUE that story to its end.
And there's still so much to love about JJK, despite everything.
THAT.
BEING.
SAID.
Some of the choices he's making, writing wise, are just...such missed opportunities for his characters and it's making the story itself suffer.
Part 1 - Sukuna Ryomen
Oh, Sukuna... The strongest sorcerer in history, who wiped out a lot of the families in an era where sorcerers and curses were at their strongest. He was the top dog of top dogs. Blah, blah, blah - WELL ESTABLISHED. Actually, ever since he defeated Gojo that's been established to the audience. And it's been win, after win for him. Which is good, in times of peril - the villain should be competent at what they do and keep the stakes high. That's good. The problem is, the formula - the way that the storyteller goes about showing this - keeps repeating over and over. Now, the fights themselves - as fights - are great. JJK has always had amazing fights and was never lacking in that department. However, the emotional investment the audience has in the fights is waning because it follows pretty much a predictable formula already. Sukuna kills character, another character is hyped up and joins the battle, Sukuna struggles just a bit but is actually just "holding back". Bam. Character dead. Next. There must be casualties, of course, BUT - from a writing standpoint - casualties can be built without diminishing the sacrifices and arcs of other characters. Tragedy can be shown without the expense of the character arcs, because to throw so much into a character without any meaningful conclusion hurts the story itself - and that doesn't necessarily mean they need to accomplish what they set out to do. For example; Choso didn't die to further showcase the cruelty of JJK's world, and how sorcerers are disposable. He didn't die to showcase Sukuna's hatred of Yuuji, and to further fuel Yuuji's hatred of his soul uncle (????). He died just because it's sad that the "doting and responsible big brother" dies and for more casualties. The THEMES surrounding Sukuna, and the entire series in general - of isolation vs. companionship, of old vs new, of strength and what it means to be strong, of love and the burden of it, his fuckin' WORLDVIEW and how it's so true for the world of JJK (that, contrary to most Shounen stories, the world is tragic and unfair and the power of friendship doesn't always work - "love is trash") could be better conveyed than what's essentially a tournament with him as the final boss. It's so frustrating, too, because the way the story goes about it - not only does it take away from the other character's complexities and developments, BUT ALSO HIS. Like, all of his story beats and the character deaths could have been hit in a way that ADDS to Sukuna's threat level while not diminishing the gravity and development of the sacrifices of the other characters. Hell, maybe even adding to them than just - oh, he/she/they're dead now. Sukuna is such a complex character, even in his simplicity, but the WAAY the story shows this makes not just HIS CHARACTER suffer...but EVERYONE ELSE'S TOO!
Can you tell how much I love Sukuna lmao.
Part 2 - Gojo, Geto and Shoko
Oh my GOD, guys. The dynamic between Gojo and Geto - absolute gold. Could they have used Geto to showcase the unfairness of the world MORE? Yes - he was the PRIME candidate for that, even in Kenjaku taking over his body. Gojo though? Killed his role in the story - showcased the themes of love and its burden, of strength = isolation, and the unfairness of the Jujutsu society WHILE easing the audience into the world of JJK? Applause. Absolutely love that for you, honey. HOWEVER; what we got with them was still really, really good. Shoko, though. She was sidelined SO HARD. Not only was using Gojo's body as a puppet a chance to showcase even more the unfairness of the cogwheels the sorcerers are placed in - we could have seen the very personal and deep ways that this world, and the lifestyle sorcerers are forced into, affects those within the cogwheel individually. I mean, all her friends from her high school years which she's so "nostalgic for" are DEAD, because of the world she's in, aside from Utahime and Gojo. You'd think she would've protested to using his body in such a way but she was...apparently FINE with it?? WHAT???
Even if she thought he could win, or was actually just nonchalant about it cuz of the many deaths she's already experienced - at least one scene where she's alone with her thoughts, would've been nice as a chance to develop her character and showcase the point above MORE. "I was there, too..." MY ASS, MAN. See? Because of that one little thing, now this line is just completely empty and Shoko's character suffers. The trio's entire dynamic suffers and so does the "precious/best high school years" bit. Did all of it actually mean anything to the characters or are they beating that point just for drama? It just becomes Geto x Gojo drama (which, to be fair, I do love BUT-) Shoko, you poor girl. You were completely wasted potential and I just...feel so bad for her, oh my GOD. Not to mention pretty much ALL of the women cast of JJK - although, strangely enough, Yorozu (and even Kashimo) accomplished what she was there to do; which was to propose the "love" part and how it relates to Sukuna's character. So good on you, you beautiful, beautiful simp(s).
Part 3 - Yuuji Itadori
Oh my sweet boy... ...who keeps getting sidelined as the protagonist. Don't get me wrong, he's been having more of a spotlight lately and I am SO HAPPY for that - because not only has he earned it, he has the biggest reasons to defeat Sukuna and gain his current wins. And even when he's embraced being part of the cogwheel, his beef with Sukuna is PERSONAL. He doesn't even want to see him suffer or anything. No, Yuuji just wants him DEAD - then he moves on to the next curse. Then when he's supposedly "surpassed Gojo in potential" he just... Keeps getting sidelined???
Part 4 - Kenjaku
...
Do I REALLY need to say anything?
Again, I am not mad at the state of JJK right now. Only confused. If I wanted to be mad, I'd look at RWBY's back and forth writing. As I've said, writing is DIFFICULT. It is SO insanely difficult to bring a world to life and continue its story to the end. And I can only imagine the pressure of having it blow up like it has these past years. BUT BRO...
MY GOD BRO.
WHAT IS HAPPENING BRO.

The Bruce Partington Plans pt 3
Well last time Watson was told to bring a gun and a chisel, so things were heating up in the espionage arena. I hope he doesn't kill a dog this time.
It was a nice equipment for a respectable citizen to carry through the dim, fog-draped streets. I stowed them all discreetly away in my overcoat...
Watson, I don't know why you're deluding yourself that you're a respectable citizen. You're really not. And that's not an insult.
Also, the fact that the man can fit 'a jemmy, a dark lantern, a chisel and a revolver' discreetly in his overcoat is impressive and I 100% assure you that had it been a woman's overcoat he would not have managed it. A dark lantern is a clunky piece of kit and even the small versions seem pretty big. A jemmy is skinny, a chisel and a revolved will fit in a decent-sized pocket, but a dark lantern?
That's a pretty awesome overcoat, Watson
Tumblr media
"Then join me in a coffee and curacao."
Is that like a thing? Maybe it's because I dislike the flavours of both coffee and alcohol, or maybe it's because I think the only curacao I've ever seen is blue curacao, but that seems like a strange combination to me.
OK, research shows that you can in fact get coffee-flavoured curacao, so this isn't as weird as it seemed. I doubt they're using the blue curacao here, which makes me feel better. There's something about mixing something that bright blue into coffee that upsets my stomach just thinking about it.
“Have you the tools?” “They are here, in my overcoat.”
Tumblr media
“Could it not have been dropped from a bridge?” “I should say it was impossible. If you examine the roofs you will find that they are slightly rounded, and there is no railing round them."
I think I'd personally go with improbable rather than impossible, but sure.
"Now, suppose that a train halted under such a window, would there be any difficulty in laying a body upon the roof?”
...yes? You have to lift a dead weight out through a window. I doubt the train is that close to the window, and you're in the room, presumably, so I'd say that sounds difficult. Also you just said that you can see the windows from inside the carriage, so it could easily have been seen by passengers, but you wouldn't even necessarily know.
Is your window large enough to put the body out sideways, in which case two people could probably heave-ho it over onto the roof, but it would make a hell of a thump as it hit the roof. And how many windows in London are wide enough - and open wide enough - for a full size man to be thrown out of them sideways? But if you're pushing him out long ways, you're going to have to sort of bend him up at first so he doesn't flop down in the gap between the train and the window, but bridges the gap, then slide him over.
It sounds like a lot of work, is what I'm saying. Seems almost as possible as dropping a body onto a train from a bridge and the body staying on the train. Actually, that seems more likely to me, with the train roofs being curved, because if you drop it from above, you can aim for the centre of the roof, where the body can sort of balance itself over the curve, while if you're pushing the body on from the side, it's more likely to be weighted towards the side you're pushing it on from, so more likely to fall off.
Train carriages aren't exactly thin. If you're throwing it on sideways then getting it to a balancing point at the top of the curve is going to be more difficult. You'll have to lean all the way out. but long ways, you're going to be pushing a dead weight from one of the shortest sides - head or feet - with no real way to control the other end.
Really we need to conduct an extensive experiment to settle this.
“We must fall back upon the old axiom that when all other contingencies fail, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth."
Sherlock. Sherlock. Sherlock. You can't just say something's impossible and then take that as written. That's not how possibility works. I bet you it's possible for a body to fall from a bridge, onto the top of a curved carriage and rest stably enough there that it won't fall off for a little while. Clearly it wasn't very stable because it did fall off eventually.
"...the idea of an amateur domiciliary visit would certainly never occur to him."
Such a polite way to say B&E.
“My dear fellow, you shall keep watch in the street. I'll do the criminal part."
I think that keeping watch would still make Watson an accessory to a crime, and therefore also a criminal in the eyes of the law. Not to quibble or anything.
And you were just saying how respectable you were earlier, Watson.
“I knew you would not shrink at the last,” said he, and for a moment I saw something in his eyes which was nearer to tenderness than I had ever seen.
...presented without comment...
"Let us walk,” said he. “Don't drop the instruments, I beg."
As if he could. How could you malign Watson's overcoat in such a way?
Tumblr media
The very next train roared from the tunnel as before, but slowed in the open, and then, with a creaking of brakes, pulled up immediately beneath us. It was not four feet from the window-ledge to the roof of the carriages.
...OK. It seems like the 4 foot must be down, not across. Even so, the train can't be right next to the building, there must be a bit of a gap. I'd say at least a foot.
So... from the window. This guy (possibly alone, possibly with a partner (perhaps a colonel)) took a dead body, and managed to get it not just to the edge of the carriage roof, but let's say the carriage is 8 foot wide, which seems to be roughly the narrowest possibility at the time from a brief online search. That means they got it ~5 foot to the centre of the carriage (including the gap between the train and the building), then over the top so it wouldn't immediately slide off.
Say Mr Cadogan West was about 170cm (the average height of a man 1896-1900 according to this site). That's just under 5'6". And to get him to a reasonable balancing point - let's say with 2 feet over the centre of the roof, that's 6 foot onto the roof, they're having to lean out the window... down 4 feet to get him there. If they're going sideways, they have to throw that body about 7 foot because they'd be throwing from inside the window. The drop would make it an easier throw, but it would also make a louder noise as body hits roof.
I'm sure it's possible. It just seems like a really bad plan. Also, human bodies are all floppy when they've just died, aren't they? That's got to be so difficult to move.
This is clearly what we are meant to accept has happened. But the logistics of doing it seems like it would have been farcical. Poor Mr Cadogan West's corpse just flopping around as they try to manoeuvre it this way and that.
“So far we are justified,” said he.
If you say so, Holmes. yes, the bloodstains prove it happened, but genuinely don't know how they managed it. Think of his arms flopping down, catching on the windowsill and the edge of the train, dead fingers knocking against the carriage window.
ALSO this is all happening in the smog.
Whatever. I have wasted too much time contemplating the logistics of this. It is not supposed to be examined so closely.
I thought Watson was supposed to be playing lookout...
It was a small tin cash-box which stood upon the writing-desk. Holmes pried it open with his chisel.
Did Holmes also bring a chisel? or is this Watson's chisel? Or did Watson bring Holmes' chisel? Or is it the communal chisel for all 221b Baker Street chiselling needs?
“Hoped to hear sooner. Terms agreed to. Write fully to address given on card. — Pierrot."
Ooh, commedia dell'arte reference. We love to see it. PIerrot's the sad clown guy, iirc. Not sure how that refers to any of our suspects.
Why is the spy keeping these in a tin box? That seems unnecessary. Clearly it is good for the plot. But he should just read the message, get whatever information is in it, then discard of the paper as anyone else would.
The area door of Oberstein's house had been left open the night before, and it was necessary for me, as Mycroft Holmes absolutely and indignantly declined to climb the railings, to pass in and open the hall door.
The guy barely walks anywhere and you're expecting him to climb over railings? This can't have come as a surprise to you, Watson.
With the shock, his broad-brimmed hat flew from his head, his cravat slipped sown from his lips, and there were the long light beard and the soft, handsome delicate features of Colonel Valentine Walter.
Tumblr media
Does anyone know what ACD's problem with colonels was? I have not been keeping a running tally, but this has got to be about the 5th time that a colonel in these stories turned out to be a horrible person. I mean, in The Silver Blaze he was just a dick, and in The Crooked Man he was the victim, but it turned out he was terrible and kind of had it coming. Elias Openshaw in The Five Orange Pips was a colonel, in The Engineer's Thumb the guy's pretending to be a colonel, then there's Colonel Sebastian Moran. That's five I can remember.
Holmes gave a whistle of surprise. “You can write me down an ass this time, Watson,” said he. “This was not the bird that I was looking for.”
Really? Because he had access to the keys and also his brother mysteriously vanished. Plus he tried to get you out of the house pdq after you started questioning him.
“Everything is known, Colonel Walter,” said Holmes. “How an English gentleman could behave in such a manner is beyond my comprehension."
Not to disagree with everything you say in this story, but we've seen plenty of English gentlemen behave in ways just as bad. I guess you're putting treason as the worst possible crime or something, but even so. You yourself had a whole-ass speech about how the countryside of England is littered with crimes. It's also littered with the landed gentry. You can't really be surprised by this.
"There he intervened, and then it was, Colonel Walter, that to treason you added the more terrible crime of murder.”
Oh no, you do think murder is worse than treason. Good for you. But also in that case, you've definitely seen English gentlemen do worse.
"It was so thick that nothing could be seen, and we had no difficulty in lowering West's body on to the train."
Tumblr media
Also the letters in the paper were from Oberstein? Not from Valentine, so... why on earth did he keep his own messages?
Oberstein, eager to complete the coup of his lifetime, came to the lure and was safely engulfed for fifteen years in a British prison. In his trunk were found the invaluable Bruce-Partington plans, which he had put up for auction in all the naval centres of Europe.
All's well that ends well - apart from poor Arthur Cadogan West who was only trying to do the right then and ended up murdered and framed for treason. I hope the government gave his family and fiancee some sort of reparations for the slanders against his name.
Colonel Walter died in prison towards the end of the second year of his sentence.
That's pretty quick, and ambiguous... he was quite young, wasn't he? Just 'died', nothing more than that? Hmmm.
This whole last bit reminds me of those 'where are they now' segments.

Different kind of a killing game
[parts said by others start with their names, also this one is incredibly long and goes into post-game saiou angst]
Hina: Okay so moving from gore-discussions because this wasn’t exactly gore: Ideas for alternative motives for V3. The one that I’m thinking about very much right now is the idea of a prisoners dilemma type motive The general idea of the prisoners dilemma is: any number of prisoners in a group have an option of giving information to authorities in order to lessen their sentence. If one person gives information, they will be let off with a much shorter sentence, at the consequence of the other prisoners getting a heavier one, but if they all stay quiet, they keep the same regular length sentence. If they all expose each other, they all get the heavier sentence The idea hinges around what humans do in a situation where trust like this is involved. The best outcome for all parties is if everyone stays quiet, but if one person decides to sell them out, they’re at risk of a larger sentence So yeah, that and put it in V3
Oliver: What information would they have that monokuma would want??
Hina: It doesn’t necessarily have to be information It’s mainly the choice of whether to do what the authority figure wants at the cost of selling out the group I’d imagine it like this. Monokuma gives them a period of time to investigate and then tells them theyll be given a vote on who the mastermind is If you correctly vote the mastermind, you get to leave no consequences. If you vote incorrectly, however. The person that you voted for will die and you’re labeled their blackened. If nobody votes, you all get to continue the game without any risks So here’s the dilemma. Even if they all know with 100% certainty who the mastermind is, the mastermind can still vote wrong and kill a person, even if the rest get out And the other option is they have to trust the idea that nobody votes and they all love
Checkers: can they see who votes first?
Hina: No, They don't know who, Unless they're watching each other That's another fun part, Watching their behavior as they vote Cause I'm assuming they're voting at rhe trial podiums So they can all see each other too
[some time was spent talking about which chapter this motive should be introduced in & speculating about what would happen in the suggested scenarios, but that won't be relevant bc of a later decision]
Hina: I just xame to a beautiful discovery This would be the perfect motive for a Mastermind Shuichi AU Like it's right up his alley eith the detective thing
Oliver: IMAGINE IF IT WAS A REPEATING MOTIVE…….. you could actually make a whole death game out of that
Hina: No but did you know that's actually a second part to the prisoners dillema There's a second aspect to the prisoners dillema related to: What would happen the more times the situation was repeated Would they start working together over time realizing it's bad for them Would they use exposing each other as bargaining chips. Like. "If you let me lessen my sentence today I'll let you lessen yours tomorrow"
Oliver: I was thinking if it were a repeating motive, it could practically be the whole gimmick of the killing game. Like imagine two people die from being voted for. One blackened, and one person who gets away scot-free but killed the other person with their vote. The blackened gets caught, because Shuichi, but maybe someone else finds out who the other voter was, and kills them because the other person who died was close to them. Another trial, and then another Prisoner's Dilemma Vote
Hina: You want to know another fun idea If this is a simulation in which Shuichi doesn't care because he knows he's gonna live and is playing observer In a scenario where they've voted out blackened to die They're given the option of thus "If everyone says yes, I'll bring back half the dead participants at random. If any specific people are voted for, they will be brought back and the rest stay dead" So now it's a choice of bringing back the most people, or trying to guarantee that the person you care for most comes vack It's the reverse dilemma And there's probably people you don't want to come back so Do you really want to risk your best friend not coming back, in favor of someone you hate Mastermind can vote someone they don't want back into the ftay Imagine Kokichi gets voted out on pretenses of people suspecting him Nobody wanted to bring him back, so Shuichi used his vote to guarantee he was brought back Now there's dealing with the fact of. Hey, I'm alive again At the cost of someone who goes against mg moral code in every way being the person to do ir
I am imagining them doing the dillema as a bonus after getting the normal trial vote right so right after 4th trial would be good
this also made me think of a killing game on fully different rules, where if they fail to get away as a blackened they're not executed since the only goal is finding the mastermind. they would be doing only the mastermind vote after trials, with the option to skip, but generally, they get two chances to eliminate mastermind per chapter, first by setting up the murder, and then second if the group figured out the murder and get to vote, if somebody gets away with murder, they leave on their own, the group will be allowed to leave if mastermind is eliminated, and that's with keeping in mind that voting for someone means killing them, but they don't have to worry about being executed for getting it wrong, it's just about their morals.
Checkers: what if the mastermind is killed?
the game ends
there should be a hard limit of how many people can be voted out per trial too, so it doesn't end too fast, like "only first three votes will count, so decide quickly" or even less. I think, with the presence of mastermind being known and everyone working against them rules would be way stricter in general, mass murder wasn't allowed to begin with, here it's "you've only got one shot", it only gets reset if everyone still alive has blood on their hands (either by murder or vote) or, my first idea, was it being reset every chapter after vote, aka the killer couldn't vote in the same chapter, but the idea of everybody having blood on their hands come final chapter is spicier,
Checkers: if you vote correctly you leave and if majority votes correctly the mastermind dies?
not in my version, it's enough for one correct vote to kill the mastermind, only the first three who vote register, even if they're all skips, people who voted for someone or killed directly would break a rule and therefore be punished for getting another person killed before it's reset because of a lack of spotless
Checkers: if only the first three register then there might be a lot more panic over voting maybe they rush to vote without thinking as much so. I propose. monokuma changes the voting layout midgame, they were ready to vote and clicked really fast but didn't realize they voted wrong until it was too late
yeah, that panic is what's I was going for, they gotta be locked in and ready to get someone killed the moment voting pulls up Kokichi is a big fan of getting in a "skip" as one of those 3 but not everybody thinks like that the first time, he's just like, "oh, then we can all press skip, nice, easy." and then there's a bang.
they could [reveal who they voted for], but they're not obligated to,
Checkers: I think they would, or others might force them to say it. it prevents a lot of wasted votes/kills
they don't even know if their votes are the ones that registered until the voting is done and acted on, the votes that registered get revealed but without information who put them in, so if somebody voted the same as you just faster you wouldn't know and just think that's probably your vote, some might try to get others to vote the same as them if they're convinced somebody's the mastermind, but if they got other motives for trying to eliminate someone, they'd rather stay quiet,
I think since it's more of a cat & mouse game between mm and others, there would be messages from them included in the rewards they get, one a real hint and one misleading, they just have to decide which is which, those would replace the flashback lights I guess,
mm Shuichi would listen to what others are suggesting to him, making Kaito think that he is relying on him, but actually he's only okay with voting on Kokichi because he's planning to bring him back later, great for the plot, but not mm Shuichi would mostly just skip until he had solid evidence someone is the mastermind
Sini: The thing is, I can see some people not even voting the mastermind here. Like, someone could vote for the killer as revenge or for the safety of the group. Or, someone might vote cause they know they themselves are likely to be voted as the mastermind and they want to take the chance of being the first vote that can take the person who will vote them out as a means of saving their own skin. Like, Himiko could vote Korekiyo off for example. And the last scenario could absolutely fit Kokichi, though the question is, would he actually do that? Given how he is in game, I think he would as it is just one of the sacrifices he'd have to make in order to end the game himself
yes, you get my vision 100% what I meant by "other motives" he could still make Gonta do it, he'd tell him it's to raise their chances, but it'd be actually because he knows he himself would hesitate but also consider: he doesn't make it far enough this time too sus for his own good
Sini: Little guy dies before he can even think to do that or pull it off…
he'd get voted out as soon as the second trial, then mastermind would bring him back after the 4th, the group dynamic would be a lot different, some would probably be more willing to trust him now, knowing he's not the mm, but that too depends on how well he copes with that
somebody voted him out, in fact, most likely multiple people voted for him, and now that he's back… they expect cooperation? he teams up with Shuichi because he's the one that voted him back in, or so he says, can't fully trust that, but hopefully? more than others
I think this one vote would become public because they'd have an argument after seeing Ouma brought back and make each other admit to their votes, there was some suspicion and talking behind backs and asking each other one on one before, but this is the one where it would become a whole ordeal of peer pressure, so the brought back peeps would know who claims them (and why would anyone risk lying about that? they didn't, right? that's the last person who'll want to hurt me, right?)
if saiouma had rights I could say that Shuichi brought him back because he wanted to get to know him better, continued to wonder about the mysterious boy, it would be a second chance for them, but. Mastermind Saihara is the better explanation
I don't know, can they still have something complicated going on post-game if Saihara is the mastermind? What it would take for Kokichi to be conflicted and don't straight up hate him after they leave vr? cause being brought back wouldn't be enough and actually only make the betrayal worse
Sini: I think the only thing that could make Kokichi not fully hate Shuichi is if Shuichi had his personality and memories screwed up Like, he was made to be the mm
I dunno, I don't want it to be that, if he's altered it's a little bit, like, everyone got Enhanced to be Ultimates, but then that means they did sign up, and he volunteered to be the mastermind and he's himself with new cool knowledge and skills, but that's about it. I want Kokichi to be forced to think about his morals, to have to notice good things in Saihara who is the ringleader, made those motives, and unfortunately proven to him that none of them are better than him (remember the counter being reset by the final chapter, that's important, even though that means this one would have more chapters than canon)
he's going to have to think about how Saihara was doing a silly little social experiment knowing it's not real, while the lot of them was killing for real, thinking it'll be permanent, and how Saihara never was the blackened, and kept the game fair with the hints and lead it to the conclusion since his goal never were to keep them trapped in the hell loop, and how he cared & patched him up when he got injured
he wants to believe Saihara was just being manipulative, but it doesn't add up
Sini: I meant more like he was forced to be the mm but I see what you're saying. Maybe Kokichi doesn't hate him as much cause he sees himself to be just as awful as him? Or maybe there are aspects to Shuichi that have him feel bad for him. And yeah! He sees how he was at least fair about everything. But I'm gonna be real, I don't think Kokichi could ever forgive him or even see him in a good light. He might not fully hate him, he could give him some props for certain things, but he is still the one that made everyone do all that horrible shit. Even if it wasn't real, it felt real. It was real to them. It doesn't matter if Shuichi does actually care for him, he still manipulated him and everyone else. He would want to see the good in him, but all the stuff I mentioned could never be enough and what he's done could never just be ignored. Just because Kokichi might see himself in a similar awful light doesn't mean he's going to give Shuichi that much charity. How I see it, it could never work
I love pg Shuichi who's been neglected and clung to the comfort show, so I imagine him going far past interacting enough not to be suspicious, he's thrilled to make friends, loves having a talent and therefore finally being special enough to hold people's attention, have something to connect with them instead of just offputing people with his fannish rambles about executions and from ch5 on to the end he would be the closest to Kokichi, so he would be trying to get that back, he's attached
I am just trying to paint the picture of, memory manipulation is barely still on the table, no flashback lights, no identity changing stuff or big gaps in memory, a lot more defined rules, cards on the table about how things work, the choice being fully theirs: stay or try to leave, I'll even give you a hint. He was mostly an observer in the whole thing
Ves: much harder in on them being his friends than tsumugi is. he's actually MORE like junko in that way, huh
bro's not even giving them motives, he's getting so much blackmail material just from being able to check who voted what and he's not using it, he's just there to hang out with his friends, and maybe study their behaviour under immense stress hahaha
Hina: I like the idea of Mastermind Shuichis game being a character study
Ves: were they friends pregame [my reply] no, he had no friends, this is his idea of an ice-breaker, he's just getting to know them better this is the best way to really get to know who people are at their core, trust him, he learned a lot on the internet
Sini: So they're all the same in that they gave themselves up to DR and while responsible for their own actions, were taken advantage of by Team DR? [my reply] I guess, yeah?
Ves: he made fifteen friendship bracelets in preparation
he thought it's going to be like solving a locked room together, a nice bonding activity, it's basically the same thing if you're as desenitized to death as he was! He was helping through leaving hints! It wouldn't be fun if he made it too easy, but he did a good job adjusting the difficulty level for the group, he's a good game master he gave them a good journey on the way to the victory that was always eventual, he cheered them on
Ves: im gonna cry he's sweet in the worst possible way v3's world rlly fucks up everybody who lives in it huh everyone who 'died' is just backstage with juiceboxes he does not see the problem
Sini: Man, I feel like that would make Kokichi hate him more, if that makes any sense. At least at first, anyway. Cause he's so sad and sweet yet did the most horrible things. He doesn't see anything wrong with what he did.
"I was worried I am going to fumble and get caught early, but I am glad I was able to give everyone a good season despite my anxiousness" gives that small smile
Sini: I feel like when they get mad at him, he cries jwjhhwef He only wanted to have fun : (
Ves: kokichi how could you POSSIBLY be mad at this guy. the murder does not count as a reason
Sini: His heart definitely doesn't hurt when he makes him cry. Definitely not
Ouma lashes out at him (post game, because in game he was in too much shock to bring up personal feelings about how it affects him as an individual, instead of talking about The Whole Thing) and he's like" "but I thought- I thought that we, that you… nevermind" hides the notebook full of ideas for what they might do together now that they're out and runs away, crying
Ves: he deserves it but like that's my son my beloved son who has committed war crimes
He was SO going to ask him out if Kokichi didn't bring him back down to earth
Ves: he's borderline delusional abt all this and when he gets a healthier mindset the self hatred is gonna hit harder than even canon shuuichi
Checkers: he specifically asked the backstage ppl to give Kokichi the nice juicebox brand. That’s rly romantic right
Sini: Knowing this now, I think when Kokichi finally accepts that he made the choice to join danganronpa and that they were all in the worst mindsets when getting into the recent season will he, not forgive Shuichi, but not be so mad at him anymore. He's more angry at DR than anything. He's still uncomfortable around him, his trust issues really keep him still feeling strong about what Shuichi did to him, but he holds no real strong feelings against him. He just feels bad for him
Ves: oh is this official danganronpa? somehow i got the impression that it was a fan project like in a warehouse somewhere
it's official they all audition and get on location, their memory of getting there it's closer to thh, "I came in here, lost consciousness and then suddenly it was Like That" Shuichi didn't do anything illegal, he just hosted a season of a popular tv show and they all got juiceboxes!
Ves: they WANTED to do this fun and normal team building exercise why are they so MAD at him!!! completely unfair i think he'd get really offended if they imply he was like. faking his grief at the deaths. because he DID grieve! his tears were genuine!! just…in a nice, comfortable, cathartic sort of way. he always knew he'd be going home he cried like you cry at a sad tv show the others cried like it was real
Sini: Like that's what really pisses them off. He saw it all as a show when they saw it as reality
the disconnect is more at a level as if they were playing D&D, of course he's invested and he's sad if someone has to leave the game he's going to miss them, but they'll see each other later, it's fine. And, well, he's not happy to see his dear friends fighting or upset, obviously, but those things happen and in the end it'll all be resolved, in the matter of a few weeks at most
Ves: it's just LARPing at the end of the day. them not KNOWING that doesn't count because they asked for it to be that way. he's helping!! he's facilitating what they wanted!! he brought juiceboxes!!!!!!! tsumugi we bonded over being DMs how are you mad at me now
What if. What if they're siblings. What if one of their parents is a Team DR executive/ some higher up. What if they both auditioned for the mastermind. Pitched in their ideas. What if angry pg Tsumugi left a letter for her future self talking about her bitch ass brother stealing her chance to finally get their attention. What if post game Tsumugi lived to see said parent never visit either of them despite working in the same building. What if she saw her old self in Shuichi, nearly mirror like. What if it terrified her
Sini: Not getting the role was the best thing to happen to her…

Forgive me for being ignorant in your inbox but could you explain just how Bart is from another reality??? I've read all of Impulse and Young Justice and this never came up once I think. Did I miss something and I'm just being dumb?
Hello, you're not dumb. This was something not established until several years after Young Justice ended and takes place during the era of TTv3.
The words used is "parallel timeline" and not necessarily 'another reality' but they are talking about the Multiverse. Alternative timeline is also an acceptable way to describe what happened with Jenni and Bart and the entire story can be found on two pages in Final Crisis #3 ... if you even accept it.
Tumblr media
This was written by Geoff Johns for the Final Crisis event where three Legion teams are brought together to take down Superboy Prime once and for all, fix reality, and to bring back Kon and Bart who were at this point in time very dead (but not really...)
Basically, Geoff decided to try and answer an old question of what future timeline did Barry Allen actually have his children in if the post-zero hour reboot should have wiped out Don and Dawn Allen, because the future would have changed to one that Barry should have never visited.
Bart and Jenni's origins are all deeply entwined with the Post-Zero Hour timeline, however Bart's first introduction and first rumblings as a character put him right before that Zero Hour reboot happened (by a couple months) so there were some.... questions... about his existence AND Jenni.
Bart technically could still exist as he was evacuated before the reboot hit, but Jenni... Jenni should not have existed in the Post-Zero Hour reboot at all if she was born before then unless the writers decided to reboot her too (which would have been an acceptable answer).
Geoff decided to try to untangle it (above) but he didn't do it particularly well because the above doesn't make sense in regards to both Jenni and Bart's established back stories.
1.) Jenni's backstory FIRMLY states that when Don and Dawn were murdered Jeven evacuated Jenni and himself back to his homeworld - granted this could still have happened with the above in place but if he arrived in an alternative timeline what home would he have to return to?
2.) Iris did NOT watch Jenni and Bart age to teenagers in days this just didn't happen. Jenni did not have Bart's hypermetabolism and she was actually normal until she got her powers as a teenager. By that time, Iris and Bart were already in the past. Iris broke into the facility holding Bart and evacuated him to the past, when he was physically 12, and then he aged to age 14 while fighting Wally. Jenni aged normally so there was no 'watching them age to teenagers in days'.
3.) Thaddeus Thawne. This makes BOTH Thad Thawnes impossible because President Thawne ordered both Don and Dawn murdered and engineered their deaths very shortly after Bart's birth, in fact Bart's birth is what prompted this! If they were from an alternative reality/timeline why would the new Thawne think to do this if Bart was already born? Also, why would he create Inertia who was the person at fault for Bart dying and is the "bad thing" that happened to the Flash Family Adult Brainiac is talking about. Yes you could say President Thawne is THAT unhinged (he is) but it just doesn't seem likely.
4.) If Don, Dawn, Jeven and Meloni jumped to an 'alternative timeline' then which Iris helped Bart escape to the past? Are there two Irises? The comic seems to imply that it was the original Iris but it's still vague enough to leave some holes. How did the original Iris get to Earth 247? Also, Iris did not reunite with Jenni until Jenni visited the past because when Iris rescued Bart - Jenni was on Arrok.
5.) Mushy memories as an excuse to cover up some blatant holes in the character's heads and the readers own recounting of events is lazy.
6.) Meloni Thawne's recounting of events in previous comics always paints a very clear picture that her father watched her fall for Don and was adamantly against it - if she was from an alternative timeline/reality then why would the President Thawne in the new reality (Earth-247) still be so persistent in trying to stop her union to Don? If she was reality jumping then she would have already married AND had a kid so... moot point.
It just doesn't work. Even if you are generous and claim it was cosmic soup as a result of the explosion it doesn't work.
But this is canon but it's canon that doesn't work - we get this sometimes and it's just up to the reader to decide what is and is not canon. If you never read ANY of the 90s comics, this would make sense and would be fine. But if you did, this would just make you scratch your head.
There's more impossibilities you can pick at, and some things that happened in the comics that Johns' fix does actually fix, but I am tired and am not going to go into them right now.
Other mysteries and mushy timeline nonsense; Jenni is actually supposed to be 2 years older than Bart.

8 Characters who should appear in My Adventures with Superman Season 2
Tumblr media
My Adventures with Superman has quickly become a fan-favorite Superman story, full of a great cast and interesting story elements. While I loved the series, and had fun with every episode, I think the show should incorporate some new characters into the mythos, to expand the story and the wider DC universe.
While there are characters that people love like Batman or villains already teased like Luthor and Brainiac, I am going to focus on characters I think this story has set up nicely, characters who have history with the Man of Steel, and that can bring a much needed different energy to the show.
I have 4 heroes, and 4, let's just say, antagonists, that I think seem like the next logical step for our heroes.
Antagonists
Tumblr media
My biggest criticism of the show was the lack of colorful and impactful villains. While Parasite, Sam Lane, Mxyzptlk, Amanda Waller and Deathstoke all had their moments, there really isn't an iconic villain I can point to from the show.
Adding one or two key overarching villains can make this great show on par with a Spectacular Spider-Man or even Invincible. I have a few ideas for characters the show may have already set up for us. Staring with:
Lucy Lane
Tumblr media
Lucy Lane in the comics is the younger sister of Lois Lane, and while originally she was a stewardess, she has more recently been reimagined both in comics and in the television series Supergirl as a major in the army.
Having Lucy take the place of the disgraced General Lane could put her directly on the path of Superman and Lois. We can even have her live in Metropolis with Lois while she is "in town".
In my reimagining, Lucy could be seen as the good daughter who took up Sam's wishes, while Lois is the failure, leading to good classic tension.
Having Lucy as an antagonist with ties to Lois and (like in the comics) dates Jimmy can lead to some good dramatic moments, and could eventually lead to her being an ally of Superman who vouchers for him to the U.S. Government.
I think adding Lucy is a good way to tone down the Army vs Superman story to be more personal and in the background while we face different threats, while still giving it emotional weight.
But if Lucy Lane is the new General, who is her new enforcer?
Bloodsport
Tumblr media
We have a Suicide Squad who hates Superman, so why not bring in his best enemy from the team.
Reimagined in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, Bloodsport is most widely known as the assassin who shot Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. Making Bloodsport Lucy Lane's main enforcer could act as Deathstroke with Kryptonite weapons, making him make more sense.
I'd like to keep the fact that he is there against his will, and has daughter, keeping him grounded and relatable. Make him the new leader of the Squad on the field as opposed to Parasite, who was way too maniacal to be lead.
Ideally there would be an episode where Clark is shot out of the sky, and all his friends and family are worried whether or not he will survive.
Lobo
Tumblr media
If we want to introduce an Iconic Superman villain, none is better than Lobo.
While Brainiac and Zod are plenty powerful and could stand a chance against the Man of Steel, sending in an assassin to do their work for them makes their lives easier.
I know he's not the best set up, but Lobo is one of those characters who can show up whenever as long as someone wants you dead. Having Clark face an invader as soon as he thinks the invasion is over would be a hell of a way to kick off season 2.
Lobo is also a character who does whatever for a check, and doesn't necessarily have to be an enemy. There can be an episode where Clark needs back up, so all other heroes team up, and Lobo is there because Jimmy paid him off.
He'd be great recurring as an ally or villain, and bring a much needed livelihood to the villains we have.
Injustice Superman
Tumblr media
No villain has been teased more in My Adventures with Superman than Superman himself.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Injustice story, but it's been utilized well here to demonstrate how terrifying a Kryptonian can and should be.
I want to put a close on this chapter of most people fearing Superman and Clark worried about who he could become. I'm hoping by the end of Season 2 after the team defeats Evil Superman, coming to take Lois or destroy the world, we can go on to bigger villains.
I think a version of evil Superman should be utilized in the 2nd Season, and could even be the final battle in an Invincible Season 1 style. Perhaps after Clark has been knocked out by the Kryptonite Bullet, Injustice Superman makes his way here, and Bloodsport, both General Lanes, The Suicide Squad, and some of the heroes I'll bring up next will take on Injustice Superman with little luck until Clark shows up.
I do think bringing in Injustice Superman could give us teases at heroes to come like, "I destroyed the Bat, the kid, the time traveler, anyone who didn't listen." If we want to have a lot of fun with it, we can make him much older and voiced by Dennis Quaid.
Heroes
Tumblr media
I think My Adventures with Superman could absolutely benefit from some heroes joining the fold, some longterm and some just for a bit.
Don't get me wrong, this is still a Superman show and I want to keep it that way. But Superman inspires others to step up, and I want to show that. Each hero has a history with Clark, and brings something important to the table. Starting with the ask I want most:
Krypto
Tumblr media
It's time to expand the Super family.
Krypto is Superman's super canine from the planet of Krypton who has all of Superman's abilities.
Adding Krypto to Superman's team means some good animal hijinks, and adding a character who can protect Jimmy and Lois when Superman can't.
We can also do fun one off episodes like a day in the life of Krypto, where he throws a post office into space or frees some dogs from the pound.
How we get him into the story is kind of tough, but perhaps he is in another pod that redirected to earth when it saw another Kryptonian was there, or Clark heres stories of another Kryptonian out in the galaxy , and it's this dog.
Either way, Krypto would be a more fun member of the crew.
Steel
Tumblr media
John Henry Irons is an inventor and engineer who styles his look and abilities after the Man of Steel. Usually seen as an ally to Superman, Steel also appears famously as one of the four people taking up the identity of Superman once Clark dies fighting Doomsday.
Steel recently has appeared in Superman and Lois, as an other worldly traveler originally thought to be a version of Lex Luthor.
My version of Irons would also be young hero, not exactly at the level he is in the comics, trying to emulate Superman with mechanics but not quite there yet. I'd like him to be a sidekick Superman calls on at times, a recurring character until he is fully brought into the group as the tech support and their 2nd heavy hitter.
Irons should represent that Clark can't really change that he is inspiring people, and should be a sign for more heroes to come.
Brainiac-5
Tumblr media
Unlike the other heroes on this list, Brainiac-5 should serve two purposes and should not be an series regular.
Brainiac-5 is a hero from the Legion of Superheroes, a team from 31st century inspired by Superman. He should be an untrusted ally to begin, as he is a descendent of Brainiac, but come with warning of his ancestors plans and how to defeat him.
Brainiac-5 also would be the anti League of Lois Lanes. We see too often in this show what Superman can become on the negative end. We should also see what he can bring about on the positive end as well.
At first untrusted, Brainiac-5 will convince Clark he is on the right path, and can inspire many many heroes from generations to come.
While the character should return throughout the show, for a second season he should appear in one or two episodes, and return for major arcs if he is needed.
And finally, the biggest ask:
The Flash
Tumblr media
The Flash and Superman speed rivalry is one of the most fun in comics. There is something about seeing Speedsters and Kryptonians on screen together that always makes for good television.
The Flash was one of the first heroes on Smallville, was the first hero to crossover with Supergirl in the Arrowverse, raced Superman in the Animated Series, and even did a post credit tease in the Whedon cut of Justice League.
Bringing in a major Leaguer in Season 2 could up the stakes for what is to come. Given Flash and Supermans racing history, we can have a fun episode on our hand that builds out this universe, and could even be a backdoor pilot to a Flash show.
We could do the classic charity run, or maybe Gorilla Grodd plans to take over Metropolis, either way, a fun one off episode centered around these two icons could be the warm-up to Justice League we need.
I'm sure some of these characters will come in sooner or later, but bringing on any of them can make for a fun Season 2 that ups the stakes and could lead into something greater.
But time will tell if I’m right.

Between Us Episode 6 Commentary and Review
Tumblr media
For my previous episode commentary can be found here.
If you aren't ready for the pain. Well, you're in good company because me either. Why do you guys do this to me? Why do you always want me to review the most painful shows? I think I'm surrounded not only by brats, but Sadists. I can't even take enjoyment in knowing that you all will suffer with me. No! Because all of you like this sort of shit. I hate it here.
Okay, enough eternal distractions. Let's do this. You ever wonder what it would be like to watch yourself on TV. No? Yeah, me either. Yes, this is absolutely me continuing to try and distract from what's about to happen. Ahhhh, no. Team. Oh, thank god for Win. It's the Hia that brings Win from concern to now angry. Oh, the chin grab is very Dom. It not only allows you to control the motion of the face, but dish out punishment as well. The bite of fingers into the face can be painful, but not necessarily overly harsh. It gets results and is something you can do in public with few recognizing what's going on. I personally am a huge fan of facial control.
I really feel for both of them At this moment. I get where are both coming from. Ah, there's that fist. I'm really glad that he didn't actually hit him, but I can for sure see why he was so pissed. Plus, being scared on top of that, who wouldn't lose control? But a Dom who fully loses control and actually swings on their submissive can go fuck themselves. You don't have what it takes to be a Dom then. The object is to have control, not lose it. It's like the shitty Doms who brag about making their submissive use their safe word. That's not how this works, that's not how any of this works, shitheads.
The moment he is standing there with his fist up and team is just waiting, says so much about him as a sub. The way Win pulls him into a hug and then communicates through his pain. Ugh, my heart. Team finally comes out of his shock and hugs him back. "My heart is torn apart." "What would happen to me if something happened to you?" You guys are destroying me and that kissed did not help. Fuck, but the acting is top tier.
Oh, silence as punishment. Ugh, can't say I blame him, though. I hate using it for discipline, but sometimes it's for the Doms benefit besides being an effective punishment. Use it too often, and it's abusive, but so is saying shit out of anger. Sometimes silence is needed to figure out your own feelings. The first thought you think isn't just instinct, but it can also be about your conditioning and how you are raised. It's your thoughts after that first instinct that are actually you versus upbringing. So yeah, it's only natural that sometimes it takes longer to sort all that out.
Shit guys! We just started and I've written an essay. Sorry new followers. Run for the hills! Okay, not cool Win, you interrupted. He was trying to explain himself, and you really lost an opportunity to learn here. Are you listening, Win. Can you pull out of your anger long enough to hear? You're going to be a shitty Dom if can't. Because that boy is going to need patience and understanding. Oh look, he is. Good. Awe poor baby. All punishment and no kisses, but look at him bringing you to his home and caring for you.
Oh, you shithead. Telling him that you should have let him drown. If he has a full-blown panic attack, I'm not forgiving you!!! You better fucking apologize! Don't, nobody, give me shit. He is past the point in which it is acceptable to make painful verbal strikes. What Team did was wrong, but he wasn't intentionally trying to hurt someone, whereas Win is. He is lucky that Team is so damn forgiving, unlike him. They both love each other so much.
Oh boy, she just said friend. She told you that Win brought a friend with him, and you're just going to jump on the bed. 🤣🤣🤣 Poor Team, he is getting so abused. They were cuddling under those covers, I just know it. Team like, yeah, who am I. I’m dead. Their facial expressions are hilarious. Okay little bro, you really grew on me last episode but this episode, you are sliding home. You are such a little sibling. Not that I did this shit At All. Nope. Never.
Look at him showing off his grades, it's so cute. If not, fucking sad as fuck. You don't show your paper and grades to your siblings unless they are the ones to raise you. Bless it. Fuck, shit, I called it. I knew I did, but that's besides the point! Fucking episode, you could stop killing me any time now. Ohhhh, I love this kid. He is so fucking astute. He knows exactly who Team is to Win, and he just accepts him. Invites him to come too. Don't know Team as well as you thought you did, huh, Win. I did notice that he calls him P' Team.
Okay... The whole calling out Prince's name had me laughing. That shit was funny. That was super cute. Dean and Win's friendship is bro goals. I adore them. If you guys only knew the amount of distractions I have going on around me right now. Oh damn, Win dealing with some flashbacks. Oh damn, the fear of losing something you love. Oh damn, the insecurities. Tell him Dean!!! I mean, Win you are relatable in your stupidity, but damn. You think you wouldn't feel it if something happened to Dean or your family? And he left. You are going to be real lucky if Team isn't petty.
Okay now they are cringy. Is he really dancing around, why spraying that on himself? WTF. Okay Steve!!! Look at you finally not being a third wheel. Win picked you for support? Are we about to see some redeeming qualities? Oh, thank god, his brother came. We might actually get some decent advice. Sorry, Steve, I mean T. rex. You're back to being the third wheel. Look on the bright side, you get to stare at your crush.
Oh, you are a couple, dumbass. Don't go getting twisted just because your panties are. Look, Steve isn't so bad. At least he gives good caring facial expressions. Poor Win, though, he's so fucking relatable. Okay, I need one of you guys to pull some good advice out your ass. I know he is having a moment, but to not pick up when your sub calls is just not done. I like Dean and Pharm and all, but I'm going to forward because I comment a lot about them in my UWMA reviews.
Just the two of us. Look, no offense, but I don't blame him for ditching you guys. My homework assignment for the two of you is to find some friends and learn to give advice. And I mean friends where you aren't the third wheel to, Steve. filler, filler, and more filler. They pretty though. I'll give them that.
Oh, damn. I really didn't want to see that. I could have done without so much details. Now I'm a little grateful for the respite of the filler. "Yeah, do it, I like it." That was cute. I also like how they constantly looked at each other. That's one of my favorite things. Okay, so is the snuggling. NO! I'm not crying. Your crying. If anybody actually reads all this, I'm going to be shocked. Anybody else want to punch, Win right now? Like not really because he is still a favorite character, but damn! I'm all up in my feels right now.
The product placement video!!! Loved it!!! Well, hope that those of you who were able to get through this long ass thing enjoy. As a reward, I give you the link to my newest smut scene.
Enjoy 💜💜💜
