didn't get the fucking internship

it's my mom's company and they couldn't even spell my fucking name right in the rejection email

this is the same fucking internship that scheduled an interview and then cancelled it 10 minutes after it was supposed to start, had me do a self-recorded interview, and then had me do a live zoom interview in which they made it very clear that they hadn't even watched it

Seeing some drama about AO3 getting in hot water because...... checks notes............. Antis (AKA fandom conservatives) performed a CSEM/CSAM attack (which means they spam posted this kind of content to AO3) on AO3 and the website wasn't/isn't equipped to handle such an attack, which has brought up issues with how AO3 doesn't comply with website-related laws as it focuses more on IP and copyright laws.

A glaring problem I'm seeing is that while yes, AO3 should be handling this shit better, but like--can we. Can we talk about how fucking fandom--no, they're not even just fandom anymore--conservatives are spamming a predominantly queer fandom space with Fucking CSEM?!

No I'm serious! I'm dead ass fucking serious! AO3 as an entity is run mostly purely through volunteers who aren't equipped to handle this kind of illegal activity--this is equivalent to someone distributing CSEM at a Soup Kitchen! A charity/non profit organization! Literally any organization or event hosted by volunteer workers! Like of course these volunteers are ill equipped to handle an attack and react poorly to it, because who in their right fucking mind would orchestrate a CSEM/CSAM spam attack on a website hosting predominantly fanfic! Or any website at all!!!

I'm normally all for challenging a corporate entity for greedy and inhumane practices (remember kids, companies are not your friend!) But the people behind AO3 aren't a corperation trying to milk customers dry of their money. This is an organization of volunteers trying to run a fandom safe space where fandom creators are protected from IP holders from being too insanely protective of their IP, copyright laws, and censorship.

And they are being attacked with CSEM from fucking conservatives.

I despise antis (AKA fandom conservatives) with all of my fucking being, you are all rotten and terrible people. All of you. To those of you who turn a blind eye to the disgusting shit your peers do, to the people who engage in harassment and censorship, those who organize CSEM attacks and create/distribute CSEM--all of you are vile human beings. There is no redemption for you.

my hometown is completely gone from what pictures i can find of it, i have not heard from my family (including aunts, uncles, parents, one sibling, and a grandparent), and the infrastructure in the mountain communities is wiped out. i cannot stress how catastrophic this is, or how difficult it will be for these communities to build back. i am angry, and scared, and heartbroken by everything that's happened.

and our government is spending it's money to fund a genocide.

free palestine, and don't be complicit. realize that this is not something happening that doesn't affect you--although it shouldn't take this to care about the deaths of thousands of people anyway.

Listen, friends.

Someone is going to be elected president in November. There are going to be two options. There is no world in which someone who is not Biden or the GOP nominee -- presumably, somehow, Trump -- win the election.

Is Biden my favorite politician? No.

Has he accomplished a ton of good things in the last three years? Absolutely yes.

Pretending otherwise is disingenuous and dangerous.

If you do not vote, you are voting for fascism, full stop. Because you know who always shows up to vote? Your shitty racist neighbors, and the white nationalists trying to stop affirmative action, and the homophobic gun owners who want the party that's made dismantling marriage equality and civil protections for queer people a part of their platform, and religious fundamentalists who believe that women should be the subject of their husbands. They vote in drives, because they don't demand perfection from their candidates, just that they hate the same way they do, and do it loudly.

This left wing thing where people yell about how voting for a candidate that doesn't check every box is a valid political protest is deeply stupid and absolutely wrong. All this accomplishes is to discourage voting and make people stop trying to push for better from our politicians.

Not voting for a candidate that doesn't do everything you want them to is giving a point to the one that wants to bring out loud fascism to the US.

There will be a winner in November, and it's going to be A or B. The system sucks, but it's the one we have, and if we don't vote for the one who is actively working for at least some of the right things, we're going to end up with the one that's working for stripping rights away from the majority of Americans.

Just fucking vote.

I'm on chpt20 and I want to study SQQ like a bug. My man is flushed, hair down, robes literally falling off his shoulders, LBH on his lap playing with his hair and kissing him... and he finally cottons on to the fact that maybe this isn't how you have a platonic and important discussion. Enforces it for all of five seconds at which point LBH starts massaging his waist and SQQ is back to being like "yeah this is fine and normal". Amazing. Can't believe he insults the IQ of SQH's characters.
