Do you have any Star Wars fanfic recommendations, or have a link to someone else's list? I really wanna veg out.

oh my god, DO I. this may have been the best ask in the world. i’m not really sure what u want a feel for, so i threw together some of my favorite longfics for maximum veg time from the ot/pt and links for swr and swtcw recs. they’re pretty much all luke-anakin/vader centric, since that’s kinda my bread and butter.

let’s start with frodogenic, who wrote the first longfic i ever read in sw and might be one of the funniest authors ever. they once reviewed my fanfic & i nearly cried from joy. anyway.

The Father, 284k+, complete. “Ten years after ROTS, tormenting nightmares of his unborn child drive Darth Vader to extraordinary measures with unexpectedly drastic consequences. Clearly, experience has taught Darth Vader nothing...”

this is my og star wars fic and boy oh boy is it amazing. i will never get over this. i don’t want to spoil anything but when i say the final chapters are great? i mean they’re legendary. sometimes i still think about them & wish upon a star that i could be such a great writer. vader’s amazing, han is spectacular, and the ocs are fantastic.

Far More Than Rubies, 70k+, complete. “Nine years after AOTC, tragedy revisits the Lars Homestead. Little Luke Skywalker is suddenly plunged into chaos as the rebel movements discover a secret military project that may make a crucial difference in the war with the Empire.”

the spiritual twin of The Father, FMTR takes a look at padmé’s character and relationship with both luke and anakin/vader that’s hard to beat. it’s darker and heavier than The Father, but it hits those same sweet, sweet emotional beats while raising the age-old question: if padmé had lived, what would she have done?

The Family Tree, 12k, complete. “In which Luke Skywalker is stranded in a tree waiting for a flash flood to recede. Too bad he's got company...”

okay, i admit, this isn’t a longfic, but it is a longshot, and it’s amazing. the imagery and description always blow me away, and the interaction (canon-compliant) between luke and vader just [chef’s kiss] get me. vader’s in full, glorious form, and it makes it all the harder when luke wrestles with the knowledge that vader is his father.

Sibling Revelry, 25k, complete. “After Bespin and before Endor, Darth Vader is shocked to discover that Luke and Leia are twins. He's even more shocked when Imperial Intelligence reports that Organa and Skywalker are, erm, a tad closer than previously suspected.”

this is complete crack and humor in the best way possible. it’s crack treated entirely seriously, and you will be in stitches, i promise. no matter how many times i’ve read this i break down.

KittandChips (@kittandchips) writes what i can only describe as food for the soul. the luke-vader interaction is insanely amazing, the world building of daily imperial life and imperial governance is amazing, and vader just has a special je ne sais quoi that u must read to understand––tragic, funny, and so, so fatherly. they’re currently rewriting the Force Bond Series to fit in with newer canon, so i will joyously binge reread the entire again (including the new Force Bond: Mustafar Weekend).

Force Bond 1: Orphan, 47k, complete. “After Owen and Beru are killed by a mysterious stranger, young Luke ends up as an orphan on Coruscant. It's a race against time as Obi-Wan struggles to find Luke before Vader realizes the boy is his son.”

Orphan kicks off the series, which tracks vader and luke’s relationship through the perils of luke’s teenagerhood while growing up under the eye of the emperor and imperial court. it’s filled with slow growth, struggle and misunderstandings as darth vader tries to single parent, and pay off in every installment. the entire series clocks in around 777k+ and is the most joyful, fulfilling reading you’ll ever have. promise.

darth-nickels (@darth--nickels) writes darker, twistier, and terribly, terribly heartwrenching aus. they’ve got a whole host, but let me introduce to my two favorites. also, check out their faux-academia on vader. it’s amazing and i love it, but i admit i am an academia hoe.

Dooku Captured, Pt 2, 16k, complete. “Dooku is taken alive onboard the Invisible Hand, and Sidious' web is torn. The Sith Lord wonders if death might have been preferable to clumsy interrogation by Anakin Skywalker.”

Dooku Captured is a longshot au told from Dooku’s pov which takes the beginning of ROTS and throws it on its head. it’s a fascinating outside perspective of anakin and obi-wan’s relationship and such and interesting examination of dooku’s psyche and especially his complex relationship with the jedi order, qui-gon, yoda, and palpatine. i cannot rec this one enough.

Black Mirror, 90k, incomplete. “The Ghost crew returns to the Lothal when they hear the Empire is investigating the Jedi Temple there. They learn Vader is alone and decide to take him out-- but what they find could change the course of Galactic history.”

Black Mirror diverges into swr territory, but make no mistake: this is entirely an examination of vader and, later, obi-wan as well as ahsoka. luke makes his appearance later in the game, and boy oh boy will you love luke’s portrayal is a microcosm of luke and vader’s relationship within canon. heed the tags, though.

jerseydevious ( @jerseydevious ) is, first and foremost, one of my favorite people on earth. secondly, though, she’s an amazing writer with a deep understanding of vader’s character and psyche, a flair for beautiful depictions, and the true ability to wring every emotion out of your body.

Two and a Half Men (with a baby), 13k, incomplete. “After a long day of bargaining with Hutts and attempting to ignore his past, Darth Vader is nearing the end of his rope. When he discovers his two-year-old son, it's the straw that breaks the semi-rational Sith Lord's back; in a rash act worthy of the Skywalker name, he scoops his son into his arms, steals a shuttle from his own fleet, and punches in random hyperspace coordinates to a destination on the other side of the galaxy. Unfortunately, father and son are not the only ones on the ship.”

Two and a Half Men will stick with you, dude. like no other. i promise. it’s a whirlwind ride with obi-wan, vader, and piett and as funny as it is heartbreaking. it touches on some heavy issues and doesn’t shy away from looking at the damage done to vader––again, heed the tags.

Helioseismology, 4k, complete. “Luke gets shot down on a supply run and caught in an ice storm. It's extremely lucky that his father followed him there.“

i’ll admit. im completely biased about this one because it was a birthday gift to me and i am sucker for litcherally anything when jd puts pen to paper, but believe me when i say you will be awed by the depth and tangled relationships between these luke and vader that jersey can illustrate in a stroke of the paintbrush. im love. always.

izzythehutt ( @izzythehutt ) i am blown away by the intricate dialogue and characterization, always. and the latin puns? im sold. im also a sucker for latin puns, but that’s a story for a different time.

In Loco Pirates, 34k, complete. “A down-on-his-luck Hondo Ohnaka manages to capture the unicorn of all bounties--Luke Skywalker, which sends Darth Vader, Lord of the Sith, on a painfully familiar trip to the planet Florrum to collect his prize. The failed negotiations leave Vader in the awkward position of being stuck in a besieged pirate bunker, trying to balance keeping his wayward child safe (and in his custody) with controlling the tongue of a loose-lipped pirate who--to the surprise of no one--has a bad habit of telling 'amusing' anecdotes from the Clone Wars.”

hondo, aka the best character of swtcw, is brought to life just as vividly on paper as on screen. his entire personality brings luke and vader’s difficulties in a sort of incredulous light, which makes it as funny as it is vulnerable and tragic. the sequel, Palpatine Ad Portas, brings piett into the spotlight, and oh man do his interactions with palpatine and vader bring u all the uncomfortable vibes. relish in it.

sparklight ( @littlesparklight ) man. lemme introduce u to an amazing prolific and detailed writer. i will never get over the series they’ve written & neither will u.

Where Our Intrepid Hero Doesn’t Get Away, 122k, incomplete. “One-shots surrounding either AU situations of canon/legends works where Luke would normally have gotten away (or Vader is simply inserted into the action to come pick his child up) but in these instances doesn't, or completely new scenarios of the same. There are no deep ruminations on consequences of the situations here, just our awful Sith dad picking his son up when he'd rather not be.”

exactly what it says on the tin. u know those glorious moments of fanfic where luke’s gotten captured and ur on pins and needles, waiting for vader to show up in a moment of dark glory? here’s the moment. here’s all the moments.

Space Race, 122k, incomplete. “Owen gives in to Luke's wish to attend the Imperial Academy and Obi-Wan is too late to avert it, though he's not too late to make sure Luke leaves Arkanis before Vader can gets his hands on him. Luke spends over a month running around the galaxy before his father gets him, and from there...”

this story relishes in chase and boy is it fun. it will keep you on the edge of your seat and it’s an amazing ride.

The Suns of Tatooine, 85k, complete. “Luke ends up on a moon swamped in dark side energy after a mission goes wrong, then his father appears... and then they go on a bit of a learning experience. This could've been the only thing that would come of getting through a Sith complex with his father, but thanks to going to free Han earlier than the gang did otherwise, more revelations are had. Will that change anything?”

this series is a thoughtful, contemplative piece examining the nature of the force and the relationship the skywalkers have with tatooine. the descriptions are beautiful, the inventiveness is amazing, and you’ll be thinking about it for long afterwards.

an additional few…

Between Flight and Longing; 34k, complete. “Luke Skywalker and Han Solo journey to the planet Balen'ar on a desperate mission and find more than they'd bargained for.”

a classic and it is for a reason. the interaction between han, luke, and vader is so spectacular and the slow trudge of going through the forest with your greatest enemy and best friend is something hilarious. the end is bittersweet and fantastic.

The Sith Who Brought Life Day, 13k, complete. “An Imperial officer loses a bet and has to get Darth Vader a present for Life Day.”

somewhere between terrifying and dull, this fic presents a canon-compliant look at the hunt for luke and the grinding wheels of the empire. the oc is amazing and it echoes in true star wars spirit: sometimes it’s just some dude who can change the galaxy.

Quintessence, 5k, complete. ‘“Well, Master, I think I’ve found the one positive aspect of this situation.” “Which is?” “The Temple won’t have to pay the costs for our funeral pyres.”’

pure hilarity and shenanigans abound in pre-aotc obi-wan and anakin hijink goodness. lemme tell u––u will deeply sympathize with mace windu afterwards. additionally, check out the rest of the author’s oneshots! they’re deeply thoughtful and the interactions the author writes between obi-wan and anakin are always gold.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

finally see what it means to be living (captain marvel, carol/maria, i really hit the zeitgeist with this one i think i was something like the fifth fic in the ship tag)

do whatever you think (the magnus archives, this series is actually #2-7, then #8 #9 and #11 for me so i’m going to cheat a bit)

standing in a world of my own (daredevil, matt/foggy/karen, another zeitgeist hit! really miss writing for daredevil actually... it’s a perennial fave)

a winding road that stretches towards the truth (iron man, tony/rhodey, i STILL don’t know when this got so many kudos. i swear i looked away when it was at 100 and suddenly it ended up here)

where the long shadows grow (star trek aos, kirk prime/spock prime, thank god some people are checking the prime kirkspock tag is all i’m saying!)

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

i don’t really Do angsty endings... possibly a blanket of stars just because i ended it on something of a cliffhanger and then completely zoned out of rnm for long enough that i forgot where i was going with it. there was definitely the intention of fixing things but then i just... did not do that. and now the show is on s3 and i’m over a season behind! life comes at you fast

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

where the long shadows grow, because it reunited kirk prime and spock prime and they DESERVE TO BE HAPPYYYY. i’m a complete sucker for presumed dead/back from the dead stories, actually, so on a similar theme i have two (TWO) daredevil fics which follow the trope, one about ray coming back post-s2 (might never be normal again) and one about foggy and matt reuniting post-endgame (in the corner, taking up space). this is the only time i will ever acknowledge endgame ever again

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

i do write crossovers! in fact i am often roundly mocked by my friends for the increasingly esoteric nature of my crossovers. way back in secondary i wrote a twilight/labyrinth crossover where angela was sarah and jareth’s daughter because i had a massive crush on a girl who liked both twilight and labyrinth. however, since that has been comprehensively scrubbed from the internet, i think my craziest crossover is probably part three of ‘traced upon the skies’, already an esoteric crossover of rivers of london and hot fuzz, when i added in a crossover with the horror movie ‘the ritual’ just because i wanted rafe spall’s character to be happy

8. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

EXTREMELY rarely and only with extreme embarrassment. i will not be any more specific than that

9. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

i used to really struggle with doing this, to the point that i had over 300 comments just. lingering in my inbox unanswered. so i decided to give those up and just commit to answering them from then on, which has been working fairly well for about a year and a half now. i love getting comments but i get overwhelmed really easily and struggle with replying in a way which feels meaningful without getting in my head about it!

10. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

yes lmao it was for a harry potter fic on ff.net where harry got sorted into hufflepuff instead of gryffindor. it wasn’t a very good fic but i think the fact it was clearly written by an 11 year old should have scared off at least some of the less flattering comments.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

i don’t... think so? i don’t know how i’d find out to be honest, my vanity googling is rarely very effective

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes! as bronze may be much beautified (skyfall, mallory/bond) got translated into chinese, i was extremely pleased. i think it’s mandarin but the ao3 page for the translation doesn’t say and my mandarin is.................. extremely poor

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

also yes! me and jess little-smartass have written a lot together, although only our star trek/les mis series has been published, more’s the pity. we spent a lot of les mis fandom time workshopping aus and we were always extremely correct about all of it, imo

14. What’s your all time favourite ship to write for?

oh god. i think probably kirk/spock, although there’s some recency bias to that since i reread space manhattans recently and was reminded of my love for them. i really like writing jon/martin but i’ve mostly done that from outsider pov which is a bit different to writing shipfic, i think. joe/nicky from tog was also something i really liked writing but i struggle with plotting longer fic with them

15. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

i recently went through my abandoned fic folder so i actually have a few options for this. the obvious choice would be ‘any of the hockey ones’ but i did delete most of those just for my sanity. more recently i started writing a vaguely smutty pre-the thing mac/fuchs fic for alex @milkdrinker5000 which i really WANT to finish but am struggling with. most obscure answer (even beyond the thing) and most likely to remain unfinished is the insanely in depth post-tog booker/copley fic i had planned out back in about october. i wrote a good 6-7k of that one and then i realised it was going to be, like, difficult, and decided if i was going to put that much work into something it may as well be the novel im meant to be writing

16. What are your writing strengths?

once a friend told me i had an excellent facility for dialogue and ive thought about it every time i write ever since. i love writing dialogue and i think i’m good at knowing what sounds ic and what is right out.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

one of the things i struggled with for a really long time, and honestly still have trouble with, is depicting action in words. once i wrote a hockey fic which featured multiple hockey games and i spent probably four times as much effort editing those to make sense and be interesting that i’ve ever done on a talkier scene.

18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i’ve done it but only when i knew more or less what i was talking about - i did italian at school so i felt confident using it for nicky in something particular and real. i try not to italicise when i drop in words from other languages, which is what i usually do when i’m using a language i haven’t studied in depth (for example, joe’s use of arabic in some of my fic), and to only use words which i’ve heard used by native speakers in that context. i think if you don’t feel confident using another language, generally speaking, you shouldn’t do it. and for god’s sake don’t use google translate for a full sentence

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

harry potter on the newsround chatboards. ariana lovegood-longbottom my sweet child

20. What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?

this used to be an easy question because hands down the fic i was proudest of on posting it was i’ll be seeing you. i spent a year and a half on research and writing! but these days i do cringe a little at my hockey fic, and i think i’m prouder of some of my shorter works. let’s do a curveball and say layer on layer, down on down, which is my favourite of my rnm fics and the one i like most from a narrative voice perspective. getting michael right was stressful and i’m still proud i got it down for a TIME LOOP FIC, my absolute favourite trope

hey!! so i meant to post this uh. MONTHS ago, but...later is better than never LMAOO

if you’ve been following me for awhile, you might’ve heard me mention chris and hollis before!! they are my ocs, and they’re actually from an original story of mine lmao they weren’t made for bully.

this is chris’s template!! hollis’s will be posted right after this!!

also fair warning im not,,, japanese so her japanese dialogue might not be 100% accurate and maybe even cringey but im basing all my info on google translate (ew i know), japanese websites, my friend who speaks the language, and my own experiences with mixing foreign languages into english lmao.

oh my gosh hi thank you sm . i’ve had these ocs since i was like 11 or something?? i started a story called “shadowpath’s insanity” (renamed later to shadowpath’s fate bc the use of ‘insanity’ was bad/wrong!). i started writing a fanfic and worked on it for a looong time before deciding i really didn’t like the story, so i thought i’d started from scratch ! then i was like “actually i dont have the motivation to write and plan a whole book so i’ll just! talk about them on a sideblog!” @wc-shattered-peace is that sideblog, but its been inactive for months because i once again lost motivation to work on the story. about a week ago i started thinking about the ocs a bit again.

cw: parental abuse (poorly done... it needs so much work)

anyways yes OC TIME !!! shadowpath is..... questionable. if i ever wanna remake the story he needs some WORK. he was born with a physical disfiguration on his face. he was rejected by his mother bc of it but then i was like “no thats gross” SO i changed it....

his birth mom is called spottedwing, and She was close w somebody called speckledust (who knew the rest of spottedwings family). theres a whole backstory but essentially speckledust is an awful awful person who resented spottedwing because of some stuff with spottedwings dad. anywayz spottedwing grew up believing if she was “perfect” she’d be able to gain her loved ones’ approval but it never happened.

there is SO MUCH more history omg but basically in spottedwings adulthood, she witnesses speckledust literally murder someone and confronts her. they yell at each other and then speckledust attacks her, but spottedwing defeats and kills her. it leaves her pretty scarred. SO when she eventually has children of her own, she senses a “dark presence” around shadowkit. believing this to be speckle coming back to haunt her, she rejects him. its uhh very messy and 1000% needs work if i ever wanna go back to it but thats the basic story.

shadowkit is raised by patchflower who is a perfect angel. she is literally the best cat ever to exist, i love her so much. shes so loving and supportive and just wants the best for shadow.

more character stuff because this is getting messy:

- rosepaw, who is shadowpaths biological sister. she was told by spottedwing to never talk to shadowpaw but she was like “hm. no. i think hes okay.” she ends up dying for him after he impulsively goes out to attack a badger, by himself, to prove to the clan/spotted hes not weak. (thinking of changing this tho bc rosepaw deserves better)

- i mentioned this in the beech/doe post but shadow has abandonment issues. he blames himself for A LOT of things. he literally does not know how to deal with his trauma so he lashes out constantly and is always angry. he is an asshole and not a good person, but his reasons arent bad. he does some bad bad things but he ultimately starts a recovery journey and becomes a better person.

- speckledust makes a comeback and trains shadow in the dark forest. if it sounds like mapleshade and crookedstar ur right lol i have to assume the og story is inspired by that. shes basically like “hey kill spottedwing lol” and he agrees. speckledust doesnt actually care abt him at all though, shes super abusive and is the main reason for shadows actions . it takes a long time for him to heal from it

- beechleaf (? i think thats his name i forget) is his childhood best friend. shadow was kinda always in love with him. i already talked abt them but eventually, beech leaves burnclan for rockclan, where his mate skyheart lives. shadow breaks after this and starts to push everyone away. it also enhances his abandonment issues. again, he blames himself for it but REFUSES to admit it so he just lashes out

- doesplash is also a childhood friend who had a crush on him early-on. the feelings never fade. her and shadow’s relationship isnt that healthy tbh hes pretty mean to her and shes a pushover. he does rlly care abt her and appreciate her but he doesnt show it and theres no excuse (even if theres explanation). she eventually stands up for himself and breaks off the friendship, which is when shadow realises that he has almost nobody in his life. other than speckledust... and >

- oakpaw! a few moons younger than shadow and quite a bit like beech. shadow projects a bunch of feelings (other than romantic bc he meets oak when oak is a kitten) onto him. another unhealthy relationship... oak is a cheerful sweetheart but pretty bland rn. he has two siblings

- honeyfrost and lionsplash who i can talk abt if ur still interested lol. lionsplash is his father-figure and mentor. honeyfrost is basically his counsellor.

- oh i forgot to mention him but nightbird is shadows biological dad. he literally never talks to shadow. his relationship with spottedwing is toxic and she pressures him into everything. thats no excuse of course, but it is an explanation. he eventually stands up for shadow and breaks away from spotted

- oh my god i forgot ANOTHER CHARACTER... bluepetal. shes an angel as well. shes the medicine cat. shes spottedwings childhood best friend who is in love with her. but she pulls away from the friendship after spottedwing rejected shadow. shes very very sad and hates that she still has feelings for spotted. she tries to support shadow but shadow is kinda mean to her. i love her a lot

again the story needs A LOT of work. im really unhappy with how little me handled the abuse in the story so ! i will be working on that if i ever return to it. i honestly have so much left to say abt the plot HAHA so lmk if you wanna know more

Oh my god, I’ve written something again? YEP!

Here is, falling for you, a spencer reid fic with so many fucking parts dude its insane.

There was a smug look on her face as she sat in the grey and white room. Her hands sat relaxed as they were cuffed to the little bar. She’d been in there for three hours, but she knew exactly what she was doing. Letting her sit, stir give off any indication that she might be guilty. It was a profiler's job after all. She didn’t kill anyone, if that’s what you’re thinking, although the agents behind the two way glass might think differently. Her hair was messy, eyes were blood-shot and she was still in her skimpy pajamas. So she sat, and she waited, they’d be in there any minute now, and judging by her own personality, she guessed they’d bring in the ‘good cop’. And just as she thought a young, skinny guy came in and sat opposite her. “Hey, I’m Doctor Reid, I want to ask you a few questions, Miss…” She noticed that was her cue to talk “Abigail Town, but you knew that, so why lie Doc?” Abigail asked leaning forwards. “I’m the one asking questions” He murmured, he reached in the file he had and brought out three photos, all women, around the age of twenty all with their throats slit. Abigail gagged. “Oh my god...That’s, I was not expecting that” Reid raised his eyebrow “What were you expecting?” He asked curiously “I don’t know, like a gunshot to the head, not their throats slit, like jeez, warn a gal before you show her shit like that” The Doctor sighed and leaned back “Do you know these women?” She shook her head “I mean I probably passed them in the streets at some point but I’ve never talked to them” She explained still not looking directly at the photos incase she threw up “Well, then why don’t you tell me why we found your DNA at the crime scene and direct links all leading back to you” Abigail shrugged “I don’t know, you’re the FBI agent, why don’t you tell me” Reid picked up his files, leaving the photos, before heading out of the room.

Reid walked into the small room with JJ and Morgan. “Did you see how she reacted to the photos, she almost threw up” JJ nodded at Morgan, “Yeah, and look at her now, she’s avoiding the photos at all cost, she’s as pale as a ghost, I don’t think she’s the UnSub” They all sat in silence for a while. “If it’s not her, then who is it?” Spencer asked, Morgan sat up and walked into the room. “Listen kid, we know you didn’t do this, but if you know who did, then you have to tell us” Abigail looked up “C-can you take the photos away please? If I have to look at them any longer I think I’m gonna throw up” Morgan nodded and swiftly collected the photos. “Do you know anyone who could one, try to frame you, and two, kill people?” Abigail thought for a second but shook her head “No, I’m sorry I don’t” Morgan nodded and sighed “It’s okay kid, for your protection we’re gonna keep you at the BAU, if someone is trying to frame you then you could be in danger” Abigail nodded as the handcuffs were taken off of her, “Uh, do you think I could go to my apartment and change?”Morgan looked at her clothes and quickly nodded “Sure Miss Town” Abigail smiled “Please, call me Abi, it’s weird when people refer to me as my last name” Morgan laughed a little bit and opened the door. “Reid, take Abi to her apartment so she can get changed” Reid nodded and grabbed his jacket from his chair.

The ride to Abi’s apartment was quiet, and long. She noticed the young Doctor glance at her countless times. “Want something Doc Oc?” Reid shook his head “N-no… Did you just refer to me as Doc Oc, as in Doctor Octopus?” Abi smiled and nodded “Ah, the genius knows something” Sencer smiled “How’d you know I was a genius?” Abi smiled “I didn’t, I just took a well educated guess based on how you look and you answered my question” Spencer looked dumbfounded, “I- How did you do that?” “Ah, a magician never reveals her secrets, this is my apartment by the way” Spencer stopped the car and the two unbuckled their seatbelts “I’ll be ten minutes” Spencer raised an eyebrow “You’re not going alone” Abi did a double take at him “I’m not?” She questioned “If someone really does wanna harm you, then I need to go in with you” Abi smirked “Trying to see me naked, Doctor Reid” The Doctor stuttered “N-no, I'm just doing my job” Abigail laughed “I know, I’m messing with you, come on”

The two walked up the long winded stairs up to Abigail's apartment, in complete silence. “Okay” Spencer said as they reached the door “I’ll wait out here whilst you change '' Abigail nodded and unlocked the door. “Oh my god!” She screeched staring at the carcass of a cat pinned to her walls. “Abigail?! Are you oka- oh my god” Spencer shouted looking at the same thing that Abi was looking at “S-someone was in my apartment” She whispered in shock, spencer took his gun out of his holster “Abigail, stay here, don’t move” She nodded and watched as spencer walked around her apartment checking if anyone was in it. “It’s okay, you’re okay” A breath fell out of Abi “I think I’m gonna throw up” Without a word she ran to the bathroom, throwing up her breakfast that morning “Here” Spencer said passing a glass of water to her as she sat on the floor “I’ve called the team they’ll be here soon” Abi nodded and downed the glass of water “Thank you” She croaked “Can you, uh, get me some clothes, i think i'm gonna throw up if i stand up” Spencer nodded and hesitantly moved over to her drawers grabbing a shirt and leggings. “Here, I’ll leave you to get changed”

-------Spencers POV---------

I closed the door to the bathroom leaving Abigail to get changed, I hadn’t even noticed the smell of the dead cat before now. This girl, who was twenty two at most, had been falsely arrested, held for three hours, found out someone was trying to frame her, and then finally found the carcass of a dead cat on her wall. I work with serial killers and I still couldn’t bear the sight of the cat. I looked around her apartment for a while, I wasn't snooping, at least not fully. It's this brain of mine, I profile people without even realizing. Her apartment was messy, not messy enough that it's dirty though, more of an organised messy. You could probably ask her where something is and she'll find it. “Reid?” I heard Hotch’s name call out “In here, you might wanna bring in a vet or something” I saw Hotch physically gag at the sight of the cat. “Yeah, I think that's best, where is she?” I nodded my head towards the bathroom. “She’s getting changed after she threw up,” Hotch nodded and waved a few people in the apartment. “Morgans in the SUV downstairs, take her there when she comes out, keep her at the BAU” I nodded and walked back to the bathroom, knocking on the door gently, “Abigail, can I come in?” I asked as softly as I could, I heard a weak “Yeah” From the otherside of the door and opened the door slowly, “Can you stand?” I asked crouching besides her “I think so” I nodded and helped her up, walking her out of her apartment and down to the SUV.

We arrived at the BAU and set her up in the smaller conference room. “Do you need anything, water? Food?” She shook her head and fiddled with her bracelet “No, I’m good, thanks though Doc” I smiled softly and walked out the door “My names Spencer by the way, figured that since we've already seen a dead cat today you might as well know my name” She laughed a little and looked up “Thank you, Spencer.” I smiled again and walked out the room. My name felt weird coming out of her mouth. When I first met her she was, tough, stern and definitely used humour as a coping mechanism but now, she seems more soft and fragile. “Is she okay?” JJ asked me, coming up to me. I sighed and shrugged “I’ll talk to her” I nodded at JJ and sat down at my desk.

------Abigail's POV-----

I sat on the small couch in the office and tried to control my breathing. I hadn’t believed it at first, when Morgan said that someone was out to get me I had practically laughed. But now, now it all seems too real, I’d never seen a dead body before, but within three hours of arriving at the BAU I’d seen so much I’m scared i can never go back to living a ‘normal life’

Spencer was nice. I kind of had him pegged for the nice type when he walked into the interrogation room, wasn’t expecting him to be this cute though. “Abigail, Hey im Jennifer Jareau, you can call me JJ. Can I ask you some questions?” I looked up and noticed a young blonde girl walk towards me “Yeah sure” I whispered, she smiled and took a seat opposite me. “Can you think of anyone, anyone at all that would want to harm you” I thought for a second and suddenly a name popped up in my head “Lydia Parker” I spoke breathlessly “She bullied me as a kid and when I left for college she killed a bird and left in on my doorstep.” JJ nodded and stood up leaving the room.

It was quiet, too quiet for me. Spencer definitely doesn't need company, but I’m gonna go pester him anyway. “Hey” I smiled sitting on the edge of his desk “Hey, how are you feeling?” I shrugged “I feel like I’ve smoked a shit ton of weed and now I’m coming down from my high” He laughed and leaned forwards “Do you like reading?” I shrugged “I don’t really read to be honest” He looked offended to be quite frankly “You don’t read? Come with me” I found myself following the charming doctor through the halls of the BAU and towards the library “You have a library in here?” He smiled and nodded “Yep, everything from Rossi's autobiography to The Hungry Hungry Hippo” I laughed a little and followed him to the back of the library “Here” He said reaching up and grabbing a green book “I think you’ll like it, it’s about a girl who falls in love with someone on the other side of the world, I really enjoyed it” I smiled and flipped through the pages “Thank you Doc Oc” He laughed at the nickname and walked towards two plush chairs in the corner “What’re we doing?” I asked sitting down “According to numerous studies, the best way to calm down anxiety is through reading, and tea, but Garcia hogs the tea so we have none” I found myself laughing more with him. “Thank you, Spence” He smiled and pulled a book out of his bag and the both of us began reading our books.

Mariah Parris was no stranger to neither hope nor hopelessness— she constantly felt as if she lived in a state of perpetual nothing. She felt so utterly alone in her life, despite being surrounded by her family, all living together in a cramped two bedroom Queens apartment. She never felt a real, true connection with anyone. There was no friend to talk with late into the night, no confidant to share her deepest secrets, no partner to hold her as she wept. She felt like no one was there for her, like no one truly cared. Sometimes it even seemed as if the only times her friends ever wanted to talk to her was when they needed help or advice. For so long Mariah just gave and gave and gave, and now, she didn’t have any left for herself.

So maybe this wasn’t the best time to move to a new school, where she would be, once again, isolated from her peers— alone to fight the demons that lived in her head. This was the mood that she felt, the weight she carried on her shoulders, as she walked into Mr. Harrington’s first period physics class.

The class was organized alphabetically, as they so often are, and Mariah was sat next to a boy named Peter Parker. Throughout the first few weeks of school, she was able to determine a few key aspects of Peter and who he was; one, his best friend was Ned Leeds; two, Peter never seemed to know when to stop talking; three, he was insanely smart; four, he blushed far too easily; and five, he looked so damn cute when he blushed. He also may have been the first lab partner Mariah ever had that actually participated in the projects with her.

“So…” Peter started one day, when they were about to begin a new lab project, all about oscillations. “Ned and I are thinking about having a movie night at my place this Friday. I know you and Ned haven’t met yet, but I think the two of you would actually really get along, and…”

There was that trademark blush.

Grinning, Mariah continued to work on the project, listening to Peter as he rambled on about the proposed movie night, pausing every once in a while to take in a breath or to write down data. After calculating the natural frequency of their mass on a spring, Mariah finally looked up at the boy who still hadn’t stopped talking. “I would love to go, Peter,” she interrupted, causing his skin to flush even deeper.

“That’s great!” Peter had a grin spreading wide across his face. “Awsome, cool! I’ll let Ned know and I’ll text you the address. I think you’re really going to like this movie, I’ve seen it a couple times before and it’s…”

Mariah just hoped he didn’t talk this much during the movie.

The three hours between returning home from school and heading to Peter’s house that Friday night was excruciating. There were so many thoughts running through Mariah’s mind, so many ideas of everything that could go wrong, of how she could embarrass herself in front of the boys, how she could end the night hating herself even more. She couldn’t stop changing her outfit countless times and applying and reapplying makeup. Logically, Mariah knew it wasn’t a big deal to look nice for pizza and a movie with two high school boys, but she couldn’t stop herself from psyching herself up before leaving.

What if they hate me?

What if I annoy them?

What if they don’t really want to hang out with me and they just pity me?

Fifteen minutes before she had to leave, Mariah typed out a long winded essay of a text trying to explain to Peter that she couldn’t make it. She forced some dumb lie about feeling sick and needing to rest for the night, but sincerely wished him and Ned to enjoy the movie without her. It took her another five minutes to actually work up the courage to press send.

Why am I this way?

Why am I doing this?

Why can’t I allow myself to enjoy the night?

Her heart raced when she saw Peter had replied.

'Oh im so sorry!! I hope you feel better soon. See u monday then:)'

God, I made him feel guilty. Now he hates me. Now he’ll never want to talk to me ever again. What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with me?

It was incredibly difficult for Mariah to sleep that night. The questions kept running through her head, over and over again. She was desperate for answers, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to find them. She almost felt suffocated by everything going on inside her own mind, as if she were stuck in a broken elevator, free falling to certain death.

Eventually, time did what it always does, and passed. Monday came and went, and both Mariah and Peter acted as usual. They got their work done in between short conversations about what’s going on in the world and their interests. Mariah seemed to have personally insulted Peter when she said she didn’t really mind Jarjar Binks all that much, but the conversation ended in blushing and laughter like it had all school year. Tuesday also came, as Tuesday seems to do every seven days. Then Wednesday and Thursday, all much the same as Monday. Even Friday decided to show up again, along with Mariah’s invite to Peter’s house.

Could she go? Yes. Did she want to go? Also yes. Was she going to go? Mariah still wasn’t sure.

She didn’t want to cancel, just like she didn’t want to cancel the week before, but there was such a strong urge to tell Peter that she just had far too much homework to do and that she couldn’t make it.

I can’t cancel two weeks in a row. It’ll look like I’m avoiding him and he’ll feel bad. I can’t make him feel bad, he doesn’t deserve to feel bad. I deserve to feel bad.

Despite her apprehension, Mariah finally decided to go. The pizza was awful and greasy, which was fantastic, the movie was campy and boring, which meant the three teens could talk all they wanted, and Mariah actually felt like she was a part of a group. However, she wasn't the slightest surprised at the positive turn of events. It was a cycle of torture within her own mind, of creating the worst possible scenerio, and the opposite happening. She would make herself feel awful for a really long time, have fun for a few hours, and feel socially drained afterward. It never ended. It never improved. It only got worse and worse and worse.

But for now, she could forget that cycle. She was in the good part, the short few hours of escapism with what felt like two new friends; two boys who actually listened when she talked, who made an effort to include her in the conversation, who asked her opinion on the topic at hand. It felt like years since the last time she felt that sort of connection with anyone, but she couldn’t find it within herself to hope for it to last, because all good things must come to an end.

Eventually, that good thing did end. Ned had to leave, and Mariah’s curfew was coming quick. However, neither she nor Peter could come up with the right words to say goodbye— so they didn’t. The two sat together on Peter’s ragged old couch and talked about everything and nothing. They filled the air with the music of conversation and the art of laughter. They were bonded as one as they spoke, held together by the web of their words. Though the night was ending quickly, their conversation lasted eons. And when Mariah did have to leave, it was with a promise that they would continue where they left off next week. A promise Mariah had never heard before, but a promise that was held nonetheless.

Religiously, for the next few months, Friday night became “Shitty Movie Night” for the three teens, and every night ended much the same as the first Friday. Mariah felt like she was at home when she talked to Peter, one on one, like she finally had the person. That person that you read about in books and see in movies, and she almost felt like she was that person to Peter too. She especially felt that way when the two shared their first kiss, when she heard Peter tell her that he loved her for the first time, when they held each other and just talked and laughed and blushed.

Mariah wasn’t a changed person, by any means. Though she no longer felt fear at the prospect of being with Peter, the questions always running through her mind remained. She still felt scared most of the time, she still felt so much hatred for herself, but for the first time in a long time she could say that she was working on loving herself and the people around her. For the first time in a long time, she felt as if she had a support system.

Peter may not have changed her, no one could change Mariah except for herself, but he did give her one thing.

He gave her hope.

3) I wish I was brave enough to share my writing like you do. I'm really scared people will think I'm stupid or that I suck. I'm too shy to share much 🙈 How can someone get over that kind of fear?

Dude, if I could take you back to the first fic I ever wrote- I think it was Dramione? Or H2O, it was seriously just awful like wow oh my god. But the thing was- people were so nice. And dude, it was shit. I promise you, it really was. What i’m saying is- you are your own harshest critic, and that’s super cliche but it’s true. No one will judge your work the way you do. And the feeling when people are nice- oh god, it just- it’s worth the risk. No one is going to think youre stupid or you suck because you had the fucking moxie to create something in the first place. I know it’s hard to take that first leap- I was too young to truly comprehend how scary it was when I did it, but I know you can get there. Sometimes it’s nicest starting in a tiny little fandom because everyone is so supportive and you all know each other and you can build confidence that way- saying that, the starker fandom is by far the most supportive one i’ve ever been in (teen wolf a close second, but there can be some mean anons there who for some reason are obsessed with scott??? like i like him, but let’s chill out, sorry off topic) and there will be haters, but fuck them. I, personally, would read anything you wrote and i would never have anything negative to say. I might be like “dude could you put stuff into paragraphs cuz it’s hard to read a block of text on my phone” but that’s it- that’s the worst thing i would ever say. i’d be too busy being grateful that you’d written some glorious content.

It’s scary, my gorgeous darling, but you can get there. The more fic you read, the more confident you get, and soon you’ll get more confident in YOU. As long as YOU like your writing (which is one of the hardest things ever) it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

that being said, nothing wrong with shyness. It’s okay to keep it to yourself, sometimes it’s a private thing. Maybe tease us with a few snippets and when we all go insane and beg you for more, maybe then you’ll be encouraged ;)

thanks for ur ask!!! so since u didn’t ask about anyone specific i’m just gonna?? try and quickly (lol) introduce some of the ocs i’ve been thinking/working on lately lol

iah is a human boy who is just one giant flirt on legs (well actually he’s quite small but let’s not tell him that). he’s very loud and hard to ignore, which means a lot of people are annoyed by him but at the same time anyone knows that if you want to have a fun time at a party, you should definitely invite iah. not many people know him any better than that, though. he has a rough time at home, where his dad is genuinely trying but still neglecting iah anyway. after the birth of his younger sister, lisanne, his mother got into a really bad postnatal depression and most of his father’s attention goes to trying to help her. because of this, iah doesn’t try to spend too much time at home and has moved out a while ago. because i cannot ever create an oc that is genuinely happy, iah is aromantic but doesn’t realise it. he’s desperately trying to fall in love and doesn’t understand why even if he finds a person he adores and admires, he never manages to. since he doesn’t know there are other people like him out there, he never talks about this and just goes through life falling in and out of relationships and wondering why he’s broken. (also he’s absolutely terrified that his mother’s depression might be genetic and does anything and everything to keep feeling things, which often leads him to very.. unfortunate situations)(i also have a tag for him!! its mostly pictures and poems and stuff that remind me of him)

yelena (pronounced yell-uh-naa) (tw suicide mention for this one) is a centuries old dryad, which means she shares her life force with an old oak tree in the woods of serbia. a very long time ago she made the mistake of falling in love with a human boy. dryads are known for the fact that they have blood of the ancient gods running through their veins. despite knowing better, she tried to build a life with this human boy, but he slowly turned mad because of her heritage. once she became pregnant, he was convinced that he needed to make a sacrifice to her and her unborn child. yelena tried to stop him, but wasn’t able to. in the end he hung herself from her tree. heartbroken, yelena wasn’t able to look at her daughter once she was born and gave her up to an orphanage. unfortunatley, this wasn’t enough to forget him. due to the release of power of his sacrifice, the branch he hung himself from is stuck in time. even now, centuries later, the leaves are a bright spring green throughout the entire year. worse than that, the body of the human boy has never decayed and is still hanging there, looking as if he only just died seconds ago. all of this lead yelena to do somehting no other dryad did before - she left her tree. she is now uprooted, wandering along the earth without any purpose. the other dryads of her woods judge her, and often try and harm her tree in retribution.

nemo is one of my more recent ocs. he uses he/him pronouns but identifies as nonbinary and thinks gender norms are dumb and confusing (don’t we all tbh). he grew up as any other kid, with two parents that cared about him and a nice yard to play in. when he was around 10, he started realising he could do something other kids could not, however. he was able to visit the dreams of other people. after his first ‘visit’, he very quickly stopped being able to have his own dreams. he learned the hard way that going without them was not an option, as it would lead to both insanity and cognitive decline. his parents let him visit their dreams so he could survive, and it didn’t take him very long to develop his skills. his gift was no secret in the town, and people with problems such as nightmares or insomnia started to come to him for help. the head of one of the old rich families in town started realising the bigger implications of his gift, however. when his parents died under unusual circumstances, this man stepped forward to adopt him so nemo could “still live in a familiar neighbourhood”. i haven’t really fleshed out this part (obviously, because right now it’s still “the powerful head of a family” lmao), but basically he has persuaded nemo to spend so much time in dreams that he has slowly started to forget himself. his new father is now using him to put subtle ideas into the minds of powerful people for his own profit.

how do you make poses for the roof? i'm not sure how i can know if the sims will clip into the roof or float

honestly i just...eyeball it...because all roofs are different and you can’t put them into blender so. i just winged it lmao...i just made a pose that looked like it could’ve been lou climbing out the window, only the rig was still ground level, and then i used alt + 9 to lift the teleporter onto the roof as best as i could. that’s why it probably wouldn’t be a very practical pose to release, because i have no way of making it easy to use

i don’t know if i’ll be able to replicate the reshade effect totally but i could release the action i’ve made for myself? it warms up screenshots but is totally adjustable to your liking for different color tones so in that way it’s kinda similar to the reshade. i’ll seeeeee what i can do...i know the woes of mac users all too well, my friend

Aww that’s so lovely! I’ve got to be honest, I occasionally get a little bit of a complex about STS in that I worry that literally the only reason it’s done well is because it’s trash lol That people aren’t actually bothered about the plot, and that the writing isn’t that good, and it’s just the sex and that’s it.

They’re only fleeting thoughts, but they do pop up pretty frequently. I mean I’m sure that’s what it is for some people, and that’s ok, I just hope it isn’t for everyone! Idk lol :/

Hey hunny! Intense is definitely one word for it! I do my best to keep things as unpredictable as I possibly can - although that’s hard as I tend to be quite a predctable person by nature! lol

I’ll be honest, until someone else mentioned this about a week ago I had never even heard of ‘rape by deception’, although now it’s been pointed out it does seem to fit the scenario awfully well. Because I hadn’t thought about it before, I hadn’t really planned on having the reader see it as such and feel about it that way? I think I might try and touch on it, at least, although I’m not entirely sure how as of yet. Primarily, the majority of discussion is going to be revolving around the impact it had on her relationship with Jimin and Yoongi.

Lol you smooth talker you, Jimin would be proud. Jungkook was turned when he was 19 years old, so he appears now as he would’ve looked in the bs&t era (the boys aren’t really ‘BTS’ in this, so that era is just used an an example to help you imagine their appearances better)
