Green!! Lovely pastel shades and dark shades, especially moss green. I’m having a total green phase atm

19) most important thing in your life?

My research 😭 the phd is literally everything I think about, and I suppose will continue to be for the next four years 🥺 ofc I am balancing it but ahhh I’m so happy I can use all my energy and time on a project of so much interest and meaning to me 😭

20) what do you want most in the world right now?

To finally move into my new flat! I get the keys early in January, but I’ll have to buy furniture and actually settle in etc, I wish I could skip that and just fast forward to living there 😂

30) what reminds you of home (doesn't have to mean house... just things that remind you of the feeling of home)?

Looking out of a bus window at the lights on the way back home on a winter evening when it’s dark outside, and people are bustling around the city 🥺

Sherlock Holmes (ACD) was one of my oldest fandoms, one of the first books I ever bought for myself were the complete collection in these two horribly bound paperback compendiums and I loved them so hard they became a bit unreadable. When Sherlock (BBC) came out I turned all my love for the books to that until Seasons 3-4 dropped and singlehandedly killed my enthusiasm for Holmes in general. Like I still loved it but I couldn't even read the books anymore without feeling fuck-Sherlock feelings. But then I found your comics! And it felt like reading the books for the first time again! And I've actually gone and gotten a very pretty set of the novels and have started reading them again. So thank you for creating these lovely comics, highlighting the queer elements in the books, and restoring one of my oldest fandoms to me!

in case you are in the mood to feel devastated here’s an alternate way of viewing charles’ response to edwin’s confession:

we know that charles kinda puts edwin on a pedestal- yes they are partners but there is a bit of a hierarchy between them. charles just looks up to and admires edwin in so many ways while constantly looking down on and being really hard on himself. he puts on his big happy persona because he thinks that people wouldn’t like him if they actually got to know him.

so when edwin confesses, it’s like a blow to him. he took his charming persona too far and went and tricked the most important person in the world into thinking he was worthy of love. and it’s worse because he does love edwin in that way, which is exactly why he can’t let him know that. charles still believes that he is like his dad, and he saw exactly what his parents’ relationship did to his mother.

he thinks that loving edwin in the way that he wants to would only cause more pain to this boy who has already been through far more than he deserves. so he blinks back his tears, attempts the same charming smile he’s used all these years, and dishes out the gentlest non-rejection in the history of forever

it’s canon to me that anakin skywalker and marshall commander fox are archnemeses of a shakespearean nature to eachother

why? well, fox’ life is a tragedy of galactic proportions. he’s a slave at best and straight up non-sentient property at worst, caught at the crossroads of being the face of the republic’s most corrupt establishment to his brothers who resent him for being forced to bear an authority he has no actual control over, and being the closest and easiest target for that very authority’s ire. made to enforce the rigged and deeply unjust laws against his own oppressed peoples, and no one understands better than fox how much coruscant truly despises them. the chancellor at the heart of it all, and anakin, the favored pupil - taken in by the flattery and empty promises like all the rest of them, the jedi most intimately connected to the senate who yet cares so little to know the clones who shed their blood in it every day that he never sees beyond his own very nose. no one asks the guard what they think, and fox despises them all for it, but the jedi who play at caring more than anything. it’s an impersonal, distanced dislike for the most part, but with skywalker it burns all the brighter for how often fox sees him walk the halls of the senate and never think to ask.

also fox cut anakin off in traffic once and he never forgave him for it

haven't thought abt it much but everyone is either born w/wings or not and ofc those with wings have different culture/rituals vs those who do not.

dazai was born with standard wings, and knkd born with stunted wings. both his parents didn't have the winged genetics but somehow he got it via mutation in utero which caused them to form late and thus rlly small.

bc of this and the fact that his family is not winged, he grew up without knowing the standard rituals or behaviors amongst those who are winged.

Cue a very confused dazai trying to do typical flirting behaviors to an oblivious knkd

edwin is a better, stronger man than i, because i would be infinitely more dramatic and petty in his position when crystal enters the scene and charles starts paying attention to her. i would have comic!edwin’s reaction at least (accusing charles of choosing girls over him, storming off to solve cases on his own and deciding to do shit that will get him into trouble so that charles has to come rescue him, etc) but i’d probably take it a step further. i’d be like “i guess you want me to go back to hell then since i’m basically nothing to you 😒” and then i’d legitimately go back to hell JUST to see if he came after me. if he didn’t come after me then an eternity of torture in hell is nothing compared to the pain of rejection and being replaced. but i’m also incredibly mentally ill, so.

(james acaster once told a story about a christmas where he asked his parents for a spice girls cd. he found out whilst at the pool with his family that his sister was getting the cd instead of him. naturally, he tried to drown himself in the pool to make his parents feel guilty. that’s my vibe if i were ever in edwin’s position.)

Thinking again about the fact that when Eddie and Dustin finally convince Steve to play DnD with the party, all of them, but especially Eddie, quickly become exasperated with Steve who has extremely high charisma, and decides that he can fix almost any situation by flirting with whoever they were in conflict with. Especially the fucking monsters, this man is bound and determined to himself a monster boyfriend and until it happens, he will make every single person they come across fall in love with him. So naturally, this happens a lot:

Steve: I’m going to flirt with them

Eddie, exasperated: Steve, you can’t date this monster, he’s trying to kill you-

Steve: Hot.

Steve: I’ll flirt with them harder then
