If I say Kieran is an affair baby who will stop me.

Cause nothing else makes sense besides royal family just found a baby satyr and took it in.

Kieran seems to be actually related to the rest of the royal family except the duke. Art and Jamie have referred to him as Kieran’s “father figure”(if my memory serves right) but they having used wording like that for the other members of the family.

Also the duke is the only one, that we’ve seen, that doesn’t like Kieran. The duchess actually cares for Kieran as we’ve seen. She had a missing poster for Kieran with the same about of care as Aurelius’ the next day after neither prince was home after the coronation.

Aurelius also cares so deeply for Kieran even after they became not as close. And we know that they did grow up together, and seemed extremely close.

But even with how much his mother and brother love him, Kieran is only known as a prince to those within the castle. And I feel that’s because of the duke. Aurelius wanted Kieran on the stage with him as he was crowned king and was sorry he couldn’t. We don’t know the duchess thoughts but she had to of been at least looking for Kieran after everything went wrong if she knew to make a poster of him missing. The only one who didn’t want Kieran near was the duke.

He quite literally told Kieran to just not come home if his brother also isn’t coming home. He didn’t even bother trying to find Kieran to tell him this, just used magic to make sure he knew.

And it makes sense that the duke would be the one who doesn’t like Kieran is he is in fact an affair baby. The duke wouldn’t like a constant reminder that his wife cheated on him. And then having to raise that reminder, raise being a very loose term. And then as the dukes real son starts getting older and closer to being king, he would try and put distance between the brothers. Also explaining why they aren’t close with each other anymore despite how much it seems both still really wanna be.

For how the duchess got close enough with a satyr to have an affair, thats unimportant, it just happened.
