I cannot stop thinking about the idea that the Sherlock and co podcast is in fact the story told the way it was in the original books, and that unlike in bbc Sherlock or most other adaptations we are once again only hearing what jonk Watson wants us to hear.
Although we know John doesn’t like to edit much out, there’s evidence that he sometimes does cut stuff and I’m sure if Sherlock would ask him to change something he would !!!
We could be “missing out” on so much

Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:
Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.
The actual difference is
when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names
when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names
hope this helps!

What’s up with how the dunmeshi fandom just lies about this kind of stuff all the time. It is easily confirmable information that it was a monthly series, something incredibly common in the industry.
Tumblr media
A not weekly magazine schedule is literally common !! Especially in the seinen shoujo and josei demographics, sometimes monthly, sometimes biweekly, sometimes every two months, sometimes seasonal! Please stop lying about how Dunmeshi was some special unique creation that defies all standards of manga just to hype it up because it is so clear that every single one of these comparisons is centered around Weekly Shonen Jump (and understand that SJ has many magazines under its brand that are monthly or semimonthly). Not everything is WSJ and it needs to stop being the only point of reference in conversations like this 🤧

“Mom, why do you think ghosts are intrinsically evil?”
“It’s what the science says, of course!”
“No, I mean like, what were the studies? What did they actually observe”
“Ohh, I get what you mean, Danny! Well across all reputable reports of encounters with the ghosts strong enough to matter, they’ve always attacked first and never responded to attempts at communication! There’s no reason for them to do that if they’re not evil!”
“Huh…”
Danny, learning about Ghost Speak and how humans can’t understand it: hmm.
Danny, learning that ghosts greet each other and bond by fighting: hmmm.

“America has no culture” is an inherently racist statement. Especially when talking about California, which has enormous populations (yes, plural) of Hispanic and Asian immigrants.
It’s such a self report that you see the American hegemony, the American monolith, as a singularly white entity that’s worthy of scorn. I want that person to look at the Black American NYC Miku design and tell me with their full chest that that isn’t culture. Especially when modern pop culture owes so much to Black American culture — hip hop, language, streetwear and fashion, pop music, jazz — as is actively erasing their roots, saying all of America has no culture is a dumbass statement.
Also, “all the US Mikus are dressed in generic casual street style for coolish weather.” The original Brazilian Miku is wearing sunglasses, a crop top, short shorts, a bikini, and flip flops you absolute dunce. If you’re gonna be rude at least be consistent.

I’m so sorry other character stans but Toph Beifong is THE character of all time
Disabled, doesn’t “overcome” it but adapts and forces others to adapt instead.
Spoiled rotten rich kid with refined rich kid manners but chooses not to use them unless weaponizong them, can should and will kick your ass, but honest and good at her heart
A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER EARTHBENDING MASTER AND HUSTLER AT AGE 12
Literally the definition of swag from womb to tomb
Do I even need to bring up metalbending?
INVENTED METALBENDING
Violence to show affection
Aang and Sokka quite possibly the only thing holding her back from straight up murder several times.
Definition of “do you want me to kill that guy for you? Cause it seems like he sucks. And I’ll totally kill that guy for you”
^ this is the real reason we never got a Toph and Zuko teamup, it would probably take her 3 minutes to convince Zuko to just kill his dumb lame dad already
I’m soooo sorry but she is UNMATCHED. Toph Beifong for President

i actually think it’s so significant that disco elysium is named after an optional side quest. because the heart of the game is in the margins. same way you don’t get the real ending if you don’t do the (let’s face it, sometimes annoying and disincentivised) cryptozoologist quest line. you have to care about the world and its people, not just grinding through the mystery, to ever really understand anything. which is exactly what the game of suzerainty tells you IF you don’t try to “win”
