Why does Ren have 4 ears? Are they all real or is one set fake?

Hehe I’ve gotten this question a lot actually! They’re all real— I like to think hybridization isn’t always a clean balance of traits, so Ren just unfortunately ended up with two sets of ears— his Dog ears being much more receptive to sound, naturally— and sometimes when the extra intake of sound is too overwhelming, I imagine he wears earplugs in his human ears to help adjust :> it’s a bit weird, but idk! i like to make designs funky and nonconventional! I liked the idea that Ren had hearing struggles due to wonky hybridization and just kept the concept :>

Happy Valentine’s Day to those who celebrate, and happy regular Friday [or I guess Saturday now?] to those who don’t! Admittedly a little late - I was hoping to get this out on the 14th but was busy doing special Vday stuff [eating a horrendous number of cupcakes and planning what a magical girl anime starring our friend group would look like with one of my friends :]].

A bit of background/extra yapping under the cut:

This was mostly an excuse to draw Pink Whole-

Consider this the start of a new series uhh . thing ! I put out a poll a while ago asking what color people thought of Whole as [just out of curiosity, wasn’t planning anything at the time] and it was wayy more eye opening for me than I expected. I always just kinda assumed he was orange or yellow or brown, but getting a bunch of people saying pink/green/rainbow/etc. and hearing the reasons was super cool and interesting.

So !! I’m going to be doing my best to do a drawing featuring a Whole/Harmonia of each color people put in the notes on said poll. Admittedly also doing this partially because Whole has recently overtaken Mind as my favorite out of HMSW [I still love him and will be drawing all the Mind designs from that one post as well !! Just. Alongside this ^^] and I want more excuses to draw him lol. So uhh expect more Whole art soon[-ish] :3

This is a redraw from January 6 2023, in honour of it being 1 YEAR since I posted the last chapter of The Father(s) and Son(s)!!!!! A little bit over a year actually because it was April 10th and it took me a little while to draw this lol

So much has changed in the span of a year omg. And for THE BETTER?? Like I’m going to school, I made and lost friends, I’m slowly but surely getting over some social anxiety (still a wip tho!!! 😭😭) and I’ve found so many cool mutuals and artists and just!!!! AAA!! Not to mention my art skills have improved a whole HELL of a lot!! LMAO

I don’t write as much as I did when I wrote my fic initially, and I feel bad for that sometimes, but it’s just a testament to how things have gotten a lot better for me and it’s not bad that I’m busy. I’m still trying to cobble together some more writing to eventually get another fic out, cuz I do genuinely miss it, but we’ll get there when we get there!
