And then when Elrond returns all fine and he comes to Lindon and he's chosen the fate of the elves, Gil Galad's physically haunted by him again. See, but this time he chooses to be haunted by Elrond. Because I think he wants to fix what he sees as his first great failure by restoring a bright future for this kid which was robbed from him when Sirion fell--and it's probably like he wants better for him than what he got, too, because he got this kingship in exile thrust upon him when all he was doing was hanging out with Cirdan making ships or something with the other non-combatants and refugees like he and his mother who were fleeing war and violence and he was like fourth in line to the throne so he probably found out in one fell swoop that all his family's dead and oh, you're king and your destiny's out of your hands. So he's like, I'll make Elrond herald and give him all the experience and guidance on this leadership stuff I never got while also giving him better control of what kind of future he has. Then--get this--he never even marries or has kids and when his reign is coming to an end. . . Which, by the way, he probably foresaw his own death which is fucked-- because he gives Elrond his ring before the war of the last alliance, metaphorically making him his heir and also giving him the opportunity to shape his future. . .Yeah, yeah, cause Elrond wouldn't have been considered suitable to be a lord or a king or anything after he was raised by wolves the sons of Feanor. So when Gil made him herald it was like helping him gain political experience and any status he lost. So anyway, then Gil Galad dies, but in some ways he's spent a greater part of his life dedicated to the act of restoring Elrond to the path he should have been on in an alternate reality where he was raised as Earendil and Elwing's son and like correcting that first failure--but also changing Elrond's fate because Elrond has the ring, like, he literally has Gil Galad's legacy and power in his hands, something he wouldn't have had (or needed?) before. But he decides he won't be king. He'll use that power to guard the place that fulfills the legacies of both him and Gil Galad. He's rebuilt the home he lost, something Gil Galad was trying to give him, and then he makes it a place for all the orphans and the wounded and the refugees--like he even fosters a bunch of future orphan kings and like--

it’s kinda funny to me how that dumb scene in kiwami 1 of majima getting shot and left for dead in the harbor was basically just added as a half-assed way to explain majima not being around for a bit of the plot, but they accidentally(?) just made it seem like start of a chain reaction where majima ended up feeling slighted and heartbroken after being abandoned like that and then lashed out about it via smashing a big truck into the building kiryu was in. and yeah that isn’t inherently a romantic thing as-is but then they go and add the part where majima grabs a hostess and performatively hits on her as in-kiryu’s-face as possible, she says she’s already in love with someone, and majima lets her go immediately, no questions asked, making a big fucking point of it just to say see THAT kiryu? I appreciate when people are HONEST about their FEELINGS. people who won’t just BACKSTAB someone who CARES about them to save themselves. is that so crazy kiryu?? huh??? anyway make it up to me get down here and fight me right fucking now

Idk why, but something about the party immediately thinking that, if anything happens to Gricko, Kremy and Gideon would be left to raise Hootsie, makes me incredibly happy for some reason. And the fact that Kremy was actually WORRIED about being good adoptive dads to Hootsie if anything actually did happen to Gricko (which, since Kremy wasn’t aware of the fact that Gricko was alive yet, was a genuine concern on his part).

And also Gideon taking one look at Twig and mentally adopting her (even if he doesn’t realize it). I mean, look at the way he treats her!!!! He gave her a piggyback ride for fucks sake!!! And he also cut a rabbit in half for trying to attack her when she was down!!!!

his boots are heavy as they collide with the tile of the kitchen, and rei looks towards him, a peculiar grimace—a blend of exasperation and fondness—twisting her features as she scolds him for walking in the house with his shoes on.

he laughs in response, nothing more than a light huff of affection, gentle and sweet on his tongue, and wraps an arm around her head, large hand splayed wide on the side of her cheek holding her still as he murmurs a greeting and presses a kiss to the crown of her head.

his palm is filthy, his nail beds stained with dirt and grime and rusted blood, but rei doesn’t care, dainty hand flattening over his own and holding him close, tight, a soft sigh expelling the weight from her shoulders.

no, rei doesn’t care, because he’s here, he’s safe, he’s home, unharmed and all in one piece and in her arms, and that’s all that really matters.

a whole head and a bit taller than her, he rests his chin on her scalp and nods, muttering something about showering and dropping another kiss to her hair before he’s gone, slipped from her grasp as easily as smoke and ash, spilling through the gaps of her fingers and wavering down the hallway towards your bedroom.

she pauses, holds her breath, waits for the telltale sound of the shower spray hitting glass and ceramic, and is met instead with your muted squeals and touya’s low rumbling, words too muffled to be legible.

but it doesn’t matter, rei doesn’t care, because he’s here, he’s safe, he’s home.

sokeefitz au where keefe is a magician, fitz is his assistant (who also learned how to sword swallow just to occasionally upstage keefe at his shows because he's petty but doesn't know how to pull a quarter from someone's ear), and sophie is marella's newest friend that's getting dragged to one of keefe's magic shows and holy wow ok marella was not kidding about the magician and his assistant being hot. cue keefe pulling roses out of his sleeve for sophie midshow because he knows a cutie when he sees one (after getting a subtle okay from fitz, who is his boyfriend but most people only know about the childhood friends part). and fitz getting to know her after the curtains close and asking her if she wants to hang out sometime. and keefe crashing that meetup when it happens halfway through because he can't help himself and knows fitz won't mind.

and them becoming friends that hang out a lot outside of shows, and sophie being keefe's most reliable regular. that DEFINITELY aren't flirting, marella, c'mon, fitz leaving out scarves for her to steal at their apartment she now frequents more than her own and learning her favorite treats to bake for her and keefe constantly throwing his arm around her and complimenting her w/ ten million winks is strictly platonic in this context
