So I have decided to name the chapters of the Lethicus fic based on the Major Arcana tarot cards. And I only have 2 chapters done so far (well, mostly done, some parts feel like they cut off abruptly and idk how I’m going to fix that yet), but istg, I’ve done like 2 hours worth of researching the different meanings of specific tarot cards in order to figure out if I want this specific card to represent this chapter or a later chapter, and do I want them to mean their upright meanings or their reversed meanings

So yknow. Fun stuff. Also studying different kinds of rose symbolism, and trying to determine what scents I want to represent certain colors and characters. I mean, I’m pretty happy with the 3 I’ve come up with that are going to show up near constantly in this fic, but uh, fair warning tho. The words “petrichor” “licorice” “blood” “sex” and “rose/roses” will show up damn near constantly by chapter 2 (so far I have 4 instances of the word petrichor outside of my notes. There’s going to be a lot more)

Again, I don’t think I’m gonna post it on ao3 until I’m done with the fic, since I am really bad about keeping up with chaptered fics after a while, but I might post a scene here every once in a while, if I feel especially proud of it.

I have noticed that all of Andy’s characters seem to be fairly intense (which, tbf, if the gaming streams are anything to go by, Andy himself seems to be fairly intense), and also deeply care about their other party members.

—Torbek is. Very intense. And also deeply cares about and relies on his friends

—Skrimm is also very intense, and also deeply cares about his friends (whether or not he’d actually admit it)

—Marius can be fairly intense at times, and he was obviously worried about the health and safety of his allies before they got through the Crooked House

—and while it’s too early for me to really say anything about Shepard (since I just finished episode 1 of CoS), I did notice that his first priority was to protect his party members. Sure, for Clayton and Victoria, it’s literally his job, but wven with the addition of Sarnax and Kana, Shepard was very willing to include those two under his protection if need be

I think my grandma thinks we’re still in the 60s or something, because when I first shown a clear interest in D&D, she started saying that it was satanic (it’s liter just math and imagination. The only “satanic” part about it is the math lmao). And last night, when my tarot cards arrived, she also started saying it was satanic, even tho it’s no more satanic than astrology?

Like…we’re not in the 60s anymore. It’s almost 2025, not everything is satanic anymore.

“I adore Lethicus” I say as I come up with a million and one scenarios where Lethica refuses to be with Marius because “he’s not the man she fell in love with”

“I love Frostbek” I say as I come up with a dozen scenarios where The Other takes over, and starts treating Frost more like a pet than a boyfriend

I love Lethicus, I truly do, but I do want to point out that I don’t think it’s going to happen any time soon—in universe, I mean. Not just because of The Duchess, but also because of Marius’ significant change in character

Think about it. When Marius first started feeling abandoned by his god, and his faith in Lathander was starting to wane, Lethica was very obviously concerned about Marius losing his faith. In fact, when Marius threw away his shield, Lethica picked it up and held onto it. And even when Marius was very obviously unsure about his faith in Lathander, and nervous about what he’d see in the Grail of Dawn, Lethica still tried to assure him to keep his faith (which makes sense, since she had to hide her faith for many many years)

Not to mention Lethica’s wariness around Marius since he bit her. I mean, she’s forgiven him, of course, and feels comfortable enough to be around him, but that was also when Marius still despised the fact that he was a vampire, and was desperately fighting his urges. Now that Marius has embraced his vampirism, putting Lethica (yknow, the only living party member—Ik Briggsy is technically living now, but that’s only during the day, and they’re still in a land of eternal night) in even more danger

Also, Lethica seemed almost…displeased with Marius once he revealed that he was embracing his vampirism and swore fealty to Lilith. She won’t scold him for embracing the darkness within, but she also doesn’t have to like that the light within has been snuffed out completely. He’s a completely different man than he was just 10 episodes prior, after all.

Idk, she may eventually grow fond of this New Marius but…part of me almost hopes she doesn’t? Or maybe smack some sense into him once he (inevitably) says or does something stupid and make him realize that this change in character is only going to make his party members leave him.

It’s wild jumping from EOM to COS, just from the sheer change in camera and audio quality between the two.

Also whenever I see the animated shorts and see Clayton’s hat so tall it reaches the stratosphere, I just assumed it was a meme or something. I didn’t expect that Rich’s hat was ACTUALLY that tall (I mean, obviously it doesn’t reach the stratosphere, but dude literally said it’s grazing the ceiling. Where did he find a top hat that tall)

My family is doing our thanksgiving dinner tonight, which is fine and all, but the unfortunate part is that my 12yo brother is sick, and I am in a lot of pain and am shaking so bad that I can’t walk (I also just can’t really force myself to eat due to not having an appetite rn), so neither of us can really be at the dinner. Which is even more unfortunate since it’s at our house 🙃

I mean, my mom and grandma understand, and my mom was even the one to suggest that I just rest in my room if I really didn’t feel like socializing tonight, but still. It’s just not fun.

Speaking of Mikey being possessed by a crow, he WAS! Sort of? He says that as a child a nun put a curse on his heart and Mace says that he once heard Mike speaking in tongues in his sleep 😃

Huh. So they really weren’t kidding when one of them made the comment that Mikey was already possessed by demons, hence why he wouldn’t play Phasmophobia. That is lowkey kinda terrifying, ngl.

I love on how Briggsy hears everyone else’s stories, and essentially goes “yeah, I know you all got hotter and cooler, but also…I have a gun”. Love it. Love him.

Also now Lethica and Marius are having even more sexual tension, and I love it. Can’t wait to see how their relationship develops once EOM starts back up again.

And also!!!! Jericho!!!! My boy getting some confidence!!!!! Love that!!!!! And also I’m staring to get the vibe that Virgil is now starting to be like “you need to sleep and eat. No, I swear I don’t actually care about you, I just need your body until we leave this cursed place. Why are you smiling at me like that, stop it”. I mean, dude literally told the rest of the party members that Jericho should eat something (even tho I don’t think Jericho needs to eat still, and Virgil is the one resting and regaining his strength). Kinda have to agree with Marius here, I still don’t fully trust Virgil, but he’s growing on me. If he continues to be nice to Jerry, then I may begin to love him as much as I found myself loving Lethica’s weird cursed child-murdering bag of holding (rip Bag. You are missed.)

I know I keep saying that EOM has been my favorite campaign so far, but oh my GOD I can’t express how much I loved episode 31. The fucking transformations, and everyone’s ACTING. ESPECIALLY Mikey and Andy (again, Mike, are you sure you don’t secretly have a weird gross crow that’s possessing you irl?)

I just. I love this campaign so much. I need to straight up eat the campaign, it’s so good.

So I decided to look at tarot card meanings (for reasons), and I realized that Marius fits like half of the Major Arcana cards in some way, but ESPECIALLY with the Death card

The Death card doesn’t actually mean death, it just represents change. But what especially gets me is the reversed Death meaning, because it talks about resisting the change and holding onto the past.

I just. I don’t know a lot about tarot (not that I haven’t been curious), but I just. My brain likes to make connections I guess.
