What about the transmission of unmaned probes? Are those disallowed too? And how about the sending of communications via the electromagnetic spectrum? Humans have been using both sending and attempting to intercept transmission of this kind for a long time, have you found species that do the same here? And if so, do you make any attempt to stop it? That really depends of the efficacy of such technology, Humans have never recieved such transmissions or have we been broadcasting for very long, so it’s extremely possible that it’s just not viable as a method of communication on a cosmic scale.

Also, when it comes to the visions… it’s a bit strange. I’m aware, vaguely, of living another life as a human, hence why I sometimes use we when referring to them, but on another level I do know that I was collected here, in this universe, after living as a different species.

#wasnt wearing leg padding in these so sorry sams a bit skinny #sam and max #cosplay #crunchchute art #my art #i could remake the pants and jacket entirely but that would be quite hard actually. i suck at making jackets especially #so those are just thrifted and edited #lots of color differences that bug me but. oh well #pants and jacket arent that different but its noticeable in these pics #as well as maxs hands and feet. theyre slightly lighter as the fabric i used is better quality #but i ran out of the stuff i used on his body etc and i couldnt buy more from that store as they took their sweet time shipping the stuff #oh well. didnt make them for a competition so its okay #im my own biggest hater and my own biggest critic #at the end of the day i made a handful of people really happy and thats all that matters to me #gotta share them every chance i get as i usually just make a cos #wear it to the con and then put it on the shelf #but im too happy with these to just hide them away after #they need a good scrub and after that id like to bring them to another con. next main goal is viecc but thats just a maybe right now

I made a few new wax seal stamps out of clay (like the ones I did for my worldbuilding stuff forever ago), this time just of random symbols that I thought might look good done in the style of painting over the raised part of the wax or etc. :0c Some of them aren't carved deep enough to really show up that well, but overall they worked okay for being clay lol

I was imagining like a swirly night sky sort of looking thing so it would be a surreal contrast of a night #sky with a window in the middle that shows a daytime sky - but the silver and purple wax kind of mixed too much together #with the black and it just looks very plain black and not all that starry or anything hjbhj.. Of course the eye is probably my favorite #since all I ever do is draw eyes and still like eye imagery for some reason. The four leaf clover is very lumpy and skrunkty but also it wa #the smallest in size out of all of them so was easier to do multiple stamps of just to try it out.#The heart with eyes wax is actually more swirly in person. I wanted it to be a mix of light pink and red and white. and the wax #did kind of all blend together but in person you can definitely see MORE of the intentional swirlyness. in this it just looks plain pink.#I was going to do one eye in the heart but it looked weird. but now two seems too plain. i could have done 3?? in a pattern.. hmm #alas. I wish I could make actual metal ones. With the clay i have to paint them in a thin layer of olive oil before stamping because #otherwise the wax just kind of gets stuck in the grooves of the clay and then you can't pull it up. Very wacky ''unprofessional'' looking #set up where I'm hot gluing circles of sculpey clay to short stumps of a wooden dowel that I sawed apart with a serrated bread knife #and then using an old paintbrush to put olive oil on them whilst holding a spoon over a yankee candle flame hjbjh #ANYWAY.. I think if I were middle class/rich/etc. this would be one of the main things in my crafting room is like.. SO many colors #of wax. and all different custom made stamps designed by me. which could be much more elaborate in actual metal.. muahaha.... >:)c #RHGghhh... I actually don't want to talk much about it since (this is probably just my Obsessed With My Own World Artist Delusions) I #think I have a really cool idea for a game that could genuinely be successful if i ever get to make it and I don't want to give #everything away and spoil the whole plot/concept in hopes that one day I can actually do it - BUT - a game that I'd like to make after the #visual novel I'm making now has partially to do with the main character working as a sort of writer/scribe/artist assistant in an elven #city (set in my world/with my worldbuilding species and versions of elves and etc) and I was thinking of maybe incorporating #somehow being able to collect little writing type items like these like.. you can get different wax seal patterns or pens or etc. when I do #stuff like this in Real Life it always makes me think of that like.. ouh... this is good research.. what it shall be like to be a littol #elf collecting wax seals and such.. indeed... Why do you comment?

Was discussing fic commenting practices with a friend the other day, and realised we both comment on things for different underlying reasons. So I thought it might be interesting to make a poll about it! Why do you comment? Do you see it as a one-on-one interaction with the author, or as a way of supporting the community? Is it a form of payment or the start of a dialogue?

I think there are a lot of different and valid attitudes to this, and I’m curious to see what different readers’ thought processes are! I’m sure that for most readers, multiple of these answers apply—try to pick the one that feels most important to you, and please do expand on them in the tags if you like!

#comment culture #fanfic #polls #for me the main reason is to put positive energy into the fandom/community #i want authors to know i liked their story and i want people to feel good about putting their stories out there!#but i also believe that energy gets reinvested in new fics or other good fandom things that i will benefit from #so i don’t consider it a duty as such but a way of contributing to a community i love #as a writer i would always prefer people read my fics without interacting than avoid them because they feel pressured to comment #so it’s fine not to comment! we all have limited energy!#but if you get something out of fandom #think about what you could put back in #and feel proud of being a good steward of our fandom ecosystem #fandom

the rage I feel when reading Blood of Olympus chapters 45-56 is almost equivalent in magnitude to the absolute joy I experience when reading The Last Olympian chapters 1-23.

remember when percabeth was good? when they meant the world to each other but had other people they cared about (nico, for one. both of them. so much), other worries and other storylines aside from their romantic plot? and when nico's completed arc wasn't repeated for no reason other than to dump more trauma on the youngest character in the series? when background characters were included in the story not for all the unnecessary last minute romantic subplots but because they were fun and fascinating to learn more about? and were actually friends with main characters? remember when grover was percy and annabeth's best friend forever? and antagonists were actually interesting and intimidating and had compelling goals? and the story revolved around friendship and family and loyalty? and death was definite and loss was palpable and battles were thrilling?

Honestly I see Jimmy's refusal to put Curly out of his misery less about his weird feelings of envy or his delusions but the fact Curly is all but stated to be a shield to Jimmy from his actions and people seeing the worst in him.

The only characters that Jimmy really interacts with one on one before the crash are Curly and Anya, two individuals he has wildly different relationships with. It's likely that Curly really did most of the talking between them as the pilots and the rest of the crew as staff. They didn't know of Jimmy's more reprehensible behaviors cause they never really had the chance to and Jimmy is subconsciously aware. If they had disliked him more than Anya would have told Swansea earlier or even Daisuke when things got really bad.

It's why he takes the immediate opportunity to blame Curly; He's the shield. He's saved Jimmy's ass more times than he can count and more times than Jimmy would ever admit. Even when he can't really do it anymore, he mentally shields himself from his own faults by putting Curly between them. Letting Curly die puts too much on him because he doesn't know how to function without a safety net.

In the end Curly only lives because Jimmy needs the idea that Curly will inevitably make things better to stay alive, meaning Curly has to live, no matter how much it pains him to do so.

#in short Jimmy doesnt only care about Curly #he only cares about the securtiy that Curly provides him #and i headcanon that the reason he tried to kill everyone is because he knew it was only a matter of time befor Curly realized this wasnt #somethgin benign Jimmy did that he could smooth over but somethign that Curly would repremand and condem him for and take his security away #like yes Curly did not react fast enough or strongly enough to what Anya told him but you could see him showing more concern over it as I d #understand the psychology behind people and more specifically men like Curly as he is hearing something horrible his friend did to someone #he cares about but has less of a bond with. he feels the need to protect his crew as people first and sadly Jimmy is still the person he wa #closest too yet I still think everything happened too fast for Curly to process as would you not grapple with the fact your closest friend #is a monster you must personally deal with? or that he did something so vile to someone else you have become protective over? Would you not #think of the relative power that friend holds and how if you approuch this wrong it could end badly for everyone? He had all these thoughts #but not enough time to think about them. Also how Jimmy was one of the main people in his personal life he felt a need to protect seeing as #he got him this job. Like imagine the one person you are really trying to make good is still bad after everythign and now you have to be th #hand of judgment youve shielded them from for so long like I do not think Curly handeled the initial situation with Anya correctly I dont #think it was the case of him not believing but not really knowing what to do and feel about it as a friend of both parties the captain and #guy going through his own shit and it says so much that he was dealing with all that so well compared to Jimmy who got everyone killed cuz #he thought being captain would be like sitting on the thrown and not emotionally mentally and physically taxing like I cant say Curly is th #best person due to his inaction but he is a good person doing the best with the knowledge and shitty resources he has cuz like also Id just #be terrified that my suicidal and nilihst bestie who clearly has an inferiority complex around me is the copilot who has access to the most #to the most important parts of the ship and the means to kill us all if he feels like him or his security are being threatened like #Anya and Curly just deserved better because they get put through the ringer like just put him in a class to teach him to be less trusting #anya mouthwashing #curly mouthwashing #captain curly #mouthwashing #mouthwashing game #mouthwashing curly #mouthwashing anya #mouthwashing jimmy #jimmy mouthwashing #mouthwashing spoilers

I think it would be funny if the kids are in that universe too but theyre just like off to the side doing their own #thing pretty much unrelated to the main plot. theyre delivery people. theyre all still teens. they get up to shenanigans and then #one day they look up like huh the guy who founded eden fucking died?? when #kristen specifically I got a decent amount hashed out in my brain somehow. she's like an engineered messiah with a grafted engine #along her upper body skeleton that'd let her spontaneously rearrange objects on a molecular level #so she can theoretically knit wounds or cure diseases by thinking abt it very hard #sadly the engine of course takes enormous amount of energy to power. so most of the time in practice she just #has a half-metal skeleton that doesn't do anything. so she's buff as shit on the upper side and one of her punches can break your neck #but her mobility is limited and she sprains her ankles like every other week. her shins have broken like a few times #I genuinely love the way her shoes n braces look in this one its very fun #there are a lot of choices I made in this one that are so fun and also just like. a result of putting them in space sweepers #and thinking to myself here and there hey this would be cool if it harkens back to their canon designs #not riz tho other than being human he is fully exactly like how he looks in canon. hes just like that #hes the navigator and he charts their courses by hand with a school calculator #(also technically their legal counselor since he's sorta responsible for not putting them in traffic control's hands)#drawing this does make me realise a lot of these dynamics are really fun lol. idk if Im gonna ever do anything like proper for this but #at the very least if I draw this the idea will be out there)

My favorite antagonist in Zexal is Number 96, absolutely Number 96. He is also my favorite character after Astral.

He is a chaotic force that only answers to himself, and I adore him.

He is a great foil to Astral, and I really like how, even if he is a sort of dark version of Astral, his design is still very recognizable: his expressions, his gestures, his voice are his own and very detached from Astral.

Every episode where he appears had become one of my favorites, and I will always be sad that he had appeared in so few episodes.
