Id say I’m neutral because making either pro or anti your whole personality is just weird. There are ships I don’t like but as long as it isn’t lolisha shit im not gonna fight over it. Ship what you like and be mindful of ones that make others uncomfortable and the language used and don’t be mad when people block or disengage with it. But also don’t harass people for what they ship the stupidity goes both ways.

(note: this post is long, grab a snack lol) ah! no problem, don’t worry about the translator haha (pinterest link - this is my masterboard for human references! I’ll talk about it more below)

I think my best advice for anyone wanting to draw is to break down your piece into shapes! (also, depending on your style, using different line weights)

from my experience, while looking at the whole reference is good, it’s easier to break down individual parts! while some parts can look complicated, a lot of things can be broken down into triangles, squares, and circles (or half circles)

I focus on character art, so I’ll be speaking about that - but it can applied to scenery and objects too. a lot of characters clothes are broken up into colored articles already - in the top reference, Ghost has a red bandanna on his arm! that bandanna helps break up his arm: the top near his shoulder is triangular, the bandanna itself is overall rectangular, and the bottom of his sleeve is a square

of course, depending on how you’re posing the character it can change the angle of what we’re seeing - there’s also an accommodation that your art probably won’t be a 1-to-1 copy with your reference. Ghost’s right arm (bandanna) has a white rolled up sleeve - while the model’s sleeve is square, I prefer to draw rolled sleeves more triangular

I think line weight is also important depending on your style! I prefer thicker lines around the entire character, and defining qualities also get thicker lines

I like thinner lines inside the character to help define dimensional shape and form. I use thicker lines on the inside of the body if there’s a shape/area that’s more in the foreground - example: König’s chest and midsection have thick line art to help differentiate from his left arm (behind his body)

I know a common piece of advice is to use real life references, and I agree… but, I never hear people talk about how to use references in a way that actually helps (“just draw from real life”, or “drawing with a reference is good practice”). I experienced that and wasn’t able to take anything away for years!

within the past year or so I seriously took a look at how using references can help me, so I want to try and talk about that - if I had trouble learning from references I’d wager someone else has

here’s my best example of using a reference because I actually remembered to! I labeled the figure to make it a little easier to follow

(1) my first tip is using a reference to figure out how the body ‘flows’. the human body has a lot of soft, rounded lines when you look at a picture - very few things are legitimately straight and sharp. I used the reference specifically to figure out how men’s pecs are shaped (of course, this is just one reference… because this is my headcanon for König’s body type haha)

(1) looking at references can help you understand how muscles move. in the reference with the woman, you notice how her right arm (down) muscles are layered - the shape portrayed by the reference lets you see how an arm’s muscles might be laid out in that position

(2) my second tip from the König reference is to look at negative space! the highlighted red portion between the arm and midsection is roughly the same negative space as the reference. if you’re using a reference and something feels off with the placement of what you’ve drawn I’d recommend looking at the space your reference takes up

(2) the negative space trick helps me line up where proportions should meet up - the distance between her arms lets me gauge how the rest of her body should be proportioned

(2) while it doesn’t match up 1-to-1 with the reference when layered overtop, it doesn’t have to! the negative space between the arms was enough for the sketch to mimic what the reference looks like. art doesn’t have to be a 1-to-1, but negative space can help you figure out ‘why does that arm look funny?’, “that arm looks funny because, compared to the negative space of your reference, it’s too (far away/close) to the body.”

(3) my last tip is the simplest, so I’ll just be referring to the König figure! when using references I look to gauge the distance between different body parts - it helps me get more realistic proportions. the bit I specifically compared to was the man’s stomach placement compared to his waist. I didn’t copy it 1-to-1 because I like the idea König has more of a tummy, but the reference allowed me to figure out an anatomical placement for where König’s stomach would be compared to his waist

I hope my advice wasn’t terrible haha everyone’s art journey is different, but these are tips I would have liked to know a few years ago (specifically the reference material ones lol). I wanted to focus more on the reference material because when people say ‘just use a reference, it’ll help’ it didn’t do it for me

I personally needed a more in depth explanation on why I would use a reference, what should I be looking at - because just drawing a person doesn’t necessarily help, and how should I be learning from it - I accidentally taught myself negative space before I knew what it was

but uhm… yeah, I hope this wasn’t awful! good luck on everyone’s art journeys, just remember that you’re allowed to take your time and try different things

One Piece x Introverted!Reader (pt. 1?)

Thank you anon for this request! This is my first time writing headcanons, so I hope you enjoy!

Summary: Headcanons and drabbles for Zoro, Sanji, and Robin with an introverted partner.

Word Count: 1327

Rating/Warnings: SFW, Just Fluff, maybe a smidgen of Angst, Alcohol

A/N: I've had to start splitting my posts from the ask, tumblr was flipping out every time I was editing. I hope you don't mind I've started linking them instead!

Zoro

Zoro enjoys this part of you, and you find an easy rhythm with each other.

You can spend hours near each other without speaking, and it feels comfy and safe. Reading a book, or working on your own tasks while he works out is an almost daily ritual (taking plenty of breaks to watch him, of course). 

During the many feasts and celebrations that seem to occur, Zoro tends to loosen up more with booze, and he’ll wrap his arm around you during conversations. He’s gotten to know your body language well, and even drunk, he’d notice if you were uncomfortable or worn out. He wouldn’t even make an excuse or say goodbye to the group, he’d just drag you (or pick you up) and find a quiet spot to relax together. Preferably with a bottle of sake.

If Zoro notices you having trouble speaking to people in public, he might try to find ways to help you feel stronger without bringing it up directly, like teaching you breathing exercises, or power stances, etc.

“Why are you teaching me this?” “So you can feel, uh… Well, you’re a pirate. Pirates need to breathe… good.”

Drabble

“You okay?”

You pulled your hands away from your temples, the dull headache still creeping on you. Zoro sat beside you, spreading his legs out on the dirt, his back against the large tree.

The rest of the crew was laughing around the fire, another triumph to celebrate with the locals. 

“It’s just been a long day. I’ll be good in a minute.”

He hummed, setting his hand out between you in case you wanted to hold it. You did. 

“You don’t have to. They’re too loud anyway.”

Your lips pulled into a small, but grateful smile as you leaned onto his warm shoulder. His fingers squeezed yours gently, before his other hand brought a bottle to his lips. 

He gestured it toward you, and you hummed your ‘no’ before letting your eyes close.

Zoro’s quiet warmth beside you filled you up. You never felt like a burden with him. He would just join you, as if it was normal. 

“Thank you.”

He huffed a laugh, voice low.

“Like I said, those idiots are too loud. I’d rather be here with you.”

Sanji

Sanji prides himself on meeting your every need, but it would take some practice for him to figure it out, unless you’re clear with him.

He wants to spoil you, to show you off, to bring you out on dates at every island.

If you’re not open with him about your needs to recharge, and he sees you getting drained with him, he might get worried. He'd wonder what he’s doing wrong, and would overcompensate.

Eventually he’d connect the dots, but if you just tell him then he’ll cater to you. He wants you to feel cherished, and he won’t mind making changes for you, as long as he knows what you need.

But he will have a hard time not showering you with compliments all day, often in front of strangers and even enemies. 

“My sunshine, my darling. You look so gorgeous under the stars like this. Don’t mind them, I’ll kick their asses so I can get back to worshiping you.”

Sanji would take note of all the things that comfort you. Whatever items like books, sweaters, fidgets, etc, and he would make sure to have them in reach for you if he saw your tells.

He’d also love whisking you away from any situation. If he noticed your demeanor shift, or if you leaned against him and whispered that you needed to leave, he would make up any excuse to get you out of there.

“My sweetheart needs some tea, we’ll catch up with you later. No Usopp, you don’t get any tea, go away.”

Drabble

“My love, is this dinner not to your liking? We can go back to the ship, I’ll make you whatever you like.”

“No Sanji, it’s delicious,” you said with a weak smile, guilt riding you for your drop in mood in the middle of the date he’d set up in the local town.

The look of concern on his face made you sigh. 

Why do I always have to bring people down?

“Please, mon coeur, tell me if there’s something bothering you. Is it something I’ve done?” 

“No, Sanji, I’m so sorry. I just have a hard time around a lot of people for too long. I love our date, I just get drained sometimes. I’m sor–”

“Don’t be sorry, dear. How about we take this to go? We can eat at the park on the way, or back at the ship? Whatever you need.”

The hurt and concern was gone from his face, replaced by a soft smile that made you lift your eyes to the ceiling to stop the hint of tears from welling up.

“I’m sorry I ruined–”

“Mon amour, I won’t listen to another word of that.”

His tone was firm as he pressed a kiss to your knuckles, almost a fierceness in his eyes now.

“And I will boil anyone that’s made you feel this way before. I’m happy with you anywhere. As long as you’re happy.”

You bit your quivering lip, trying not to think of partners in the past that had gotten angry at you when you’d need a break, when you didn’t want to go out. 

Sanji was different. Now that he knew, he checks in, he makes changes, and that pressure you used to feel is fading. 

“Anything you need, my love.”

Robin

You’d never have to worry, Robin is always your safe haven.

Even around the rest of the crew, Robin seems to have a quiet little corner, and you can sit with her, recharging as she reads, sending you a gentle smile now and then.

At parties, Robin will catch your gaze, often pulling you away from the group to go explore the area on your own. Always hunting for books, pets, and cozy spots.

If Robin notices you’re uncomfortable with people near you, she’d literally spawn arms on you to push them back a bit. Usually would only do this within the crew, and everyone would laugh while she pulled you away from the more rambunctious crew members. (i.e. Luffy hanging on you, and yelling directly in your ear, lol)

Robin is an introvert, and she’s found a great balance for herself. She helps you figure out what you need, and what your limits are, and it feels wonderful to have someone understand and support you so well

She’s the best girl 🥰

Drabble

“Mmhm,” you nodded, sipping your drink as Nami and Usopp chatted with the group’s new friends.

You hadn’t been able to chat for awhile now, brain slowly slinking back in your skull with guilt as you tried to keep a friendly look on your face.

You coughed to cover a gasp, the group turning to focus on you.

“Uh, excuse me. I’m going to grab another drink.”

The arm that had spawned on your back to tap gently on your shoulder tapped again until you turned to that side. There was Robin, smiling at you as she sat at the bottom of a staircase.

Letting out a strained breath, you made your way to her, already feeling lighter.

“Care to take a break with me, darling?”

“Yes, please,” you breathed, kissing her cheek as you sat beside her.

Robin leaned against you, people watching as you closed your eyes for a while. Now and then she would let out a soft hum or a low chuckle, and you grinned. Robin saw so much, and you loved to hear what she learned from people just by watching them. 

There was no pressure to return to the group. You could stay and watch with Robin, you could head back to the ship. You could do whatever felt best, and Robin would still be Robin. She’d still smile at you, just like this.

Thoughts on the Veil’s Destruction

The question I’ve been getting most lately on my post are along the lines of-

Doesn’t Solas want to kill everyone else?/Won’t the Veil coming down kill everyone?

There are a lot of assumptions ultimately about the implications of the Veil’s destruction.

The thing is, we don’t know. Solas is a Trickster figure. Meaning he rarely lies directly. His words are chosen specifically. The language he uses in Trespasser is vague and could be interpreted so many ways.

Let’s look at The two dialogue trees for if you agree with his plan:

Here Solas says he walks A journey of death. But whose death? Certainly people will die because of the Process of the Veil coming down. But that doesn’t mean the Veil being down will kill everyone.

Like we are able to walk the Fade in game. It’s a bit precarious but it doesn’t immediately kill you.

I’m more inclined to believe he is talking about his own death which is affirmed slightly in the second Approval line

“Only a Price I alone will pay” I think this price is his own Death. Sacrificing him self with the other Evanuris to “mitigate the damages” with his own magic.

Continuing on to what he says at the beginning-

He asks a hypothetical here: ‘Would’ you give the life of every friend you have ever known?

That is not to say they will absolutely die but it IS a possibility any ally he has needs to be able to deal with (see Falassan).

This is a loss he is deeply familiar with and would not wish to impart onto his friend or foil even in theory.

The next Dialogue tree that adds to this riddle is when the Inquisitor asks-

“Why does this world have to die for the elves to return?”

Let’s start with the Inquisitor’s question. It is quite common in Trickster parables the importance of word choice.

They ask why the World has to die. Thinking back to the concept of “world state” I can see how the meaning of world can be obfuscated. There will be a Spiritual death of the world not an immediate destruction of everyone like some think.

And then Solas says he won’t answer the question but gives clues. He was just talking about Death but here when asked directly about it he doesn’t use that language to talk about his plan. He says “end” again it’s quite vague and can be interpreted many ways.

Take This with the other tree when you say “You’re going to destroy this world.” There is no use of the Die or death here so instead of launching into a riddle he answers plainly. “Not happily”

He doesn’t have to twist his words here because

Destruction ≠ Death.

I won’t get into the details of the rest of the dialogue because boy oh boy that conversation can go so many ways but I’ll go over the highlights.

When asked what his original plan was for the orb if Corypheus had died when he was supposed he says what he WOULD’VE done. Hes speaking in the past tense and lots has changed since then about Solas’ perspective.

He very clearly tells you he not telling you his current plan so we can assume the original fire and brimstone plan is Completely off the table.

In a lot of the remaining dialogue he reaffirms everyone’s personhood repeatedly and says alot of IFs “if people must die” again not an affirmation that people will insta-Die.

All this to say-

We don’t actually know what the Veil being down entails or what Solas plan even is in detail. So the assumption that he is actively Trying to kill everyone is baffling.

Like he never says that. Ever.

Ugigiugi and Tracing

Hello Twst Fandom! I’ve been silently paying attention to the drama around the Ugigiugi situation and wanted to add in something in regards into this topic.

I had to take some time to track down a particular comic, but I do have proof Ugigiugi has traced from another artist i followed on Pixiv. Bear in mind this artist also posted their art collection a month before Ugigiugi made one of her comics. I’ll be sourcing the Pixiv comic below and showing the panels that obviously have a been traced.

As you can see I pulled Ugigiugi’s and the Pixiv’s comic panels to show where the tracing is. The believe this all speaks for itself.

As an artist myself I’m going to state this very bluntly. You should not be copying/tracing someone else's drawings/comics for your own art. This goes for everyone. Older or younger; or even if they post on other social media websites. Tracing and posting things you originally didn’t create shows a level of dishonesty within the community. I checked Ugigiugi’s Pixiv account out of curiosity and a lot of her traced art isn’t hosted there. I can only hypothesize either it was once hosted on Pixiv at a point (possibly reported/taken off???), or she never posted on that website because she’s probably copied from artists there and didn’t want to get in trouble yet went ahead and posted to other social media sites for attention. (  T_T) It should go without saying that Ugigiugi appears to a chronic tracer. I have checked her DA posts and other SM posts but she has never given any artist notes on her submissions about admitting to using references, bases or even if people have “inspired” her with proper links on her traced art submissions. She just submits stuff with little description. There no shame in admitting you use references, game references or even doll bases or use tracing for the sake of learning (and only learning); that being said, giving your resources proper credit is necessary if your going to be using someones else resource for your drawing. But, it’s pretty clear Ugigiugi isn’t looking to even be an honest fanartist. Some of the artist that she has traced appear to be Japanese or of a different country and they may not have a Tumblr/Twitter/DeviantArt or enjoy interacting outside their local language websites. They might not even know their stuff is being traced which us why I am going to go ahead and link two more posts with fanart tracing for references. These posts are made by @crowstales​​ on the subject of Ugigiugi https: //www.tumblr.com/crowstales/709186361712869376/this-is-a-call-to-attention-to-ugigiugi Part 1 https: //www.tumblr.com/crowstales/709555007152963584/this-is-a-call-to-attention-to-ugigiugi-part2 Part 2 Please keep in mind I am also taking the same rule as Crowtales stated. Don't harass the artist but don't continue to support her content! If you can find the original artists she’s copied from on other art peices and can send some form of notification to let them know Ugigiugi traced them. Giving the amount of evidence that keeps showing up it’s pretty concerning how much she’s stolen and it brings to question if any of her art is legit or if it is mostly traced or pure resources that she won’t credit.   (<x<’  )  I haven’t even seen her acknowledge all of this tracing or make a public statement either. It also begs the question of if she’s just going to continue to trace things, and if so; who else’s stuff is going to be traced next? Either way, if people continue to find more evidence or find the artist she’s copied please be mindful enough to help the original artists and not tolerate tracers or any type of plagiarism within the fandom space. Love Sea Ep 3 Thoughts

I just had the kind of day that makes you fall back in love with life a little bit. So what better time to watch Love Sea than right now? I will say I have been warned that certain parts of this episode will make me angry. So odds are, if you like the show, you won’t like my thoughts. But I’ll go in with an open mind. Episode 2 was fine. Right? Right. Anyway, just in case, if you click the read more and you don’t like what I say…that’s on you. You were warned. So let’s do this thing. Episode 3 time.

This time the movie I watched before this show didn’t have literally the best sound mixing I’ve ever heard in my entire life. So I think my ears are safe this time. It won’t be good but at least I’m not going from the best to…this.

What’s the point of paying for this streaming service if they’re only gonna half ass the subs? Anyway. Give the translators a raise and hire more of them. Oh to be stargazing on a beach while laying next to a hot boy and having deep conversations about life. Oh if only that were me. Hey real quick, anyone want to go stargazing with me? I’ve never been stargazing and I think I should do it. 

I’ve only been watching this episode for 23 minutes. I thought it was almost over. This shit is dragging. The directing in this show needs significant work. There is not enough movement on screen in far too many scenes. Even when We Are had two characters (Tan and Fang) just standing and talking, it wasn’t difficult to watch because they were both constantly moving. Well, mostly Tan. But Fang did too. There was something for the eye to catch. Something to watch. With Love Sea, they have Rak and Mut just stand and talk, or sit and talk, or lay down and talk, and there is not nearly enough movement. They need to be doing something. I am moving more just sitting on my ass on my couch (shoveling cake in my mouth) while I watch than these two are doing on screen and that is a directorial problem. Imagine working with an established actor pair who are known partially for their chemistry together and just…having them lay there. I was prepared to go into this show mad at it for the typical MAME reasons but honestly, I’m mostly mad that the show elements are bad. The writing is not up to MAME’s usual standard and the directing is ass. The music is par for the course and I’m more objective about it this week at least.

FINALLY. Some movement. God that took forever.

It must be nice to be able to read Thai and know what the fuck is being said.

People stop reading over Rak’s shoulder. Let him have some privacy. The fuck?

This scene would have far more emotional impact if we had any more time with these characters. Literally we started the episode with Rak refusing to go somewhere with Mut and being forced to go. And now he’s willing to stay? Doesn’t he believe love is a figment of the imagination? Did that fucking change? Did we see that change? Was it in one of the texts I couldn’t read?

I’m not…angry at this show. I mean Mut is never gonna be my favorite and neither is Rak, but MAME has had far worse cough cough PrapaiSky cough cough This show’s problem is actually the worst problem a show can have: it’s boring. I’m bored. The writing is lazy, the directing is abysmal, and honestly the sound mixing thinks it’s doing something and utterly failing. Those are the only three things I feel I’m knowledgeable enough to comment on but I’m sure the rest isn’t great either. I’m upset that I can’t even be mad at the characters. Cause it’s all so boring. When did I go back in time to get a BL that was so poorly written as to be a joke? It’s 2024. I refuse to believe this is what they put together. For all its faults, LITA was at least entertaining. At least it didn’t ruin my lovely day. I am gonna go get ready for bed now because unfortunately, I have to work in the morning. Oh to have a summer off. Oh to go to the sea and stargaze at the beach. I can’t believe this show managed to make even that boring.

I think it might be hard for us to understand the formal and informal speech thing since English doesn't have that. But in languages and countries were that is used, this is a bigger deal.

Jimin doesn't address the fans with informal speech. His posts in weverse are all formal, thats why they are translated nicely by weverse.

Very early, but on time, Coulson was waiting for them, and upon seeing him, Kathleen smiled. Of course, he was not going to pass up the opportunity to meet his idol.

While on the ship, she watched the scenery. She felt that despite everything, they were taking things very calmly. Did Nick trust the plan he had told her so much about? She didn't understand how he was so confident that it was going to work.

Although what had always intrigued him was how Fury had gotten Pym's authorization to go through with his wife's proposal.

After a few moments, the bleak thought struck: what would it all be like if Saori, Wanda, and Pietro were alive? Surely the four of them would make a special team.

Sometimes she wished things were different. A thousand times she had been tempted to take the deal with...

That didn't matter anymore; they had to take heed of the mission they now had.

After they entered the ship, Steve was fascinated with what he saw, he had never even been in the laboratories of his time in which he had been, there was nothing like it, again he had that feeling where he was mixed between surprise and confusion, at some point would he know how to use all those devices?

"If it's not too much trouble... " Coulson began to speak when he saw Steve standing next to him.

"No, not at all," Steve interrupted as he crossed his arms across his chest.

"It's a classic collection; it took me years to put it all together; it has some small details," the agent said proudly. That collection was his treasure.

"Captain, it's your turn," the Director said. "Have Agent Anzai escort the captain to put on his uniform," Nick ordered, and Steve and Kathleen nodded.

Kathleen led Steve to the room where the uniform with his nameplate was; she could sense all the thoughts of insecurity that were going through the soldier's head at that moment.

"You can do it; I'll wait for you outside to change." She turned around, ready to leave when he stopped her.

"Aren't you going to put on your uniform?" He thought it was strange not to see one with her name on it.

"I'm already wearing it," she pointed to the jacket with the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on it and left to give him room.

Natasha, Steve, and Kathleen climbed into the ship, and the mutant stood in the pilot's seat, ready to go to where they had located the Asgardian when she felt Nat's hand on her shoulder.

"Are you sure you know how to fly this thing?" the redhead questioned.

"Commander Rumlow taught me, so yes, and you'd better take your place so we can leave and not waste any more time," answered the girl while the other two sat down.

During the ride, Steve told them the plan: the most important thing was to capture Loki and, if it was possible, also to recover Barton. He also questioned them about why Stark had not appeared so far; neither of them knew the reasons. Although Kath really didn't care what Tony did or didn't do, she knew exactly what he had done in the past. She wasn't sure she had forgiven him yet, but they had work to do and no way to choose. She felt her cell phone vibrate, she guessed it was Brock, she didn't have time at the moment to explain herself, they probably had little time.

"Sometimes I doubt that they think with their brains," commented Romanoff.

"I don't understand why they always want to solve things with blows," answered the other girl, and they both laughed.

" Do you think Clint... betrayed me? "Nat was worried.

"Not by choice, rather Loki must have manipulated him, so now we have to get him back without him suffering any damage preferably, I think that's what you'd like," Natasha nodded.

"Are you dating Rogers or Rumlow?" Natasha asked, and Kathleen grimaced. She hated that she was always looking for a partner.

"Neither; they're both just my friends, and I'm not interested in dating anyone," she answered quickly.

"Are you still not over Johnny?" Nat looked at her.

"That happened a long time ago... By the way, how do you know about him? She felt the rage growing inside her; in fact, she had dated Johnny a long time before she joined S.H.I.E.L.D., so there was no chance she knew about him, and she didn't think she had read his old diaries either, so there was no chance she could understand them.

"I heard Rumlow say a long time ago that if I found him, I would kill him for the damage he did to you," the spy replied as if she had read the other's mind. Kathleen laughed low. It really would be something Brock would say; in fact, he said it when he found out.

"That was a long time ago; surely some girl must have killed him by now or something." Kath felt uncomfortable with the conversation. Likewise, she knew that something strange had happened to the Fantastic 4, but she had never had an interest to find out exactly what had happened to them.

"You spend a lot of time with the Captain; it is obvious that there is something between you, and also the way he sees you," the other agent said suddenly.

"You're hallucinating, try to teach almost seventy years to someone who lived in the forties and you'll see that it takes too long," they both laughed, "I think it's about time I went after them, lest they think of destroying the country or something," she said as she opened a portal, and Natasha nodded as she took the pilot's place.

Kath needed to get away from Natasha quickly; despite everything, she always made her feel uncomfortable. It seemed as if she wanted to force some friendship, but they really had nothing in common, and it was not so nice what she saw inside the spy's mind—a lot of information that sometimes she would like not to know, not to mention that no one would ever take Wanda's or Saori's place.

Despite having been trained in recent months, Steve was already starting to feel tired in battle; it is worth mentioning that it was the first one he had since he had woken up, but after so long without fighting, it was obvious that he was going to feel that way. Although there was another thing that worried him, and that was that he didn't know where Kathleen was.

Steve was somewhat confused, but in the end, she was the one who had been helping him adapt, although he was sure that she would know how to protect herself and defend herself in battle. However, the Chitauri seemed endless, and Steve began to doubt if they could defeat everyone.

"Steve, are you okay?" Kath asked.

"Yes, of course, it's just that..."

"Some missions are more exhausting than others; I understand you... She managed to catch the shield before he hit her since one of the enemies had taken it from Steve. "I think this is yours," she said, handing him the shield. For a few brief moments, their hands touched.

"Huh... this one, do you have any clue as to how this will end?" Steve questioned.

"We’ll win, but we must make an effort," Kath replied while smiling.

Kathleen appeared on a somewhat devastated stage. She watched as Thor subdued Loki, while Steve and Tony were on the lookout in case he wanted to escape.

"Are they done playing?" The director is expecting us, and we've already wasted a lot of time." Everyone was startled, as they didn't expect the girl to show up; in fact, they weren't even sure how to get him to the helicopter.

"Loki will have to face trial in Asgard," Thor said authoritatively.

"He also needed to tell us a few things of utmost importance and he compromised one of the best agents we have," replied the girl, she narrowed her eyes as she listened to the thoughts of the Asgardian who seemed that he would not give in, she stared at him and began to enter more into his mind to manipulate him, she knew that Fury's patience was not infinite and they had to be back in the Helicarrier as soon as possible. She smiled in satisfaction as she noticed that it had worked.

💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.

Ángel:

1) This is rather “a post-canon” fact since I’m not going to write about it in Was Born To Lead. It also means I might give up on it eventually if I stop liking it but for now I like it and even have an idea for the possible one-shot so I’m sharing it.

Ángel went deaf in his early twenties. I won’t specify how it happened but the main reason why I like this idea is that Ángel’s future job is closely connected with hearing and speaking and despite deafness he keeps being good at it because he managed to find the ways to adapt to life without one of the main senses (I can talk a lot about it because disability studies is literally my field of study but I don’t want to pretend I’m smart ajhdnfj). He can still speak fluently despite being deaf, he knows sign language (and he actually knew it even before he went deaf since his aunt is deaf but I mentioned it in one of the chapters so people are supposed to know it already), and generally he hasn’t changed much. He’s still outgoing and cheerful and doesn’t let his disability prevent him from living his life to the fullest. He’s still Ángel.

2) Ángel writes poetry. He was taught by Señor Álvarez.

3) Ángel has a dog named Nube (which you all already know ajbdnfj). He was a lost puppy, and Ángel found him during the downpour in the park when he was six and decided to adopt him. For this reason Nube doesn’t like rain and is scared of lightning even as an adult dog, and Ángel and his dad always let him inside the house when it’s raining (usually he lives in the backyard in a kennel since he’s a large dog)

Frida:

1) This fact is about Frida and Laurens. You might remember I mentioned they studied in the same school when Frida lived in Maarswik but some time ago I changed my mind. Frida and Laurens attended different schools, but they still got a chance to meet since they both have fashion designer parents who ended up being business partners. They would often bring their children along with them when participating in some fashion shows, and as a result Frida and Laurens became close friends, spent a lot of time together, and often visited each other.

2) Frida loves Maarswik more than Avalor. The only thing that connects her with Avalor is her friends Gabe and Ángel and maybe some of her classmates and school teachers, but she never stopped feeling out of place living in this kingdom (possibly because they basically had no culture and traditions when Shuriki was a ruler. I think she would perceive this kingdom differently if she lived there during Elena’s reign). Frida’s family never forgot they were from Maarswik, and so they still celebrated Maarswikan holidays and cooked Maarswikan meals even after they moved. Frida also speaks Maarswikan when she talks with her parents, not Avaloran (I had a classmate from Azerbaijan, and as much as he was fluent in my native language, he still spoke Azerbaijani when he talked with his family so I know this is not unrealistic ahbdnfj). I think I can summarize this “fact” by saying that Frida has always been Maarswikan, literally and figuratively, and has always been attached to the culture of her native country.

3) Frida will have a cat. I haven’t thought of the breed yet but I’m thinking of a short-haired cat.

No member of any species has the right to be that attractive, I thought as I sat across a conference table from a Tal Shiar agent. According to Sloan, he was one of Koval’s most accomplished people. Riov S’Talon of the T’Met was a tall drink of water, and he was very aware of how handsome he was.

When we were introduced, the graying but still very much full of life Romulan had given me a charming smile and lifted my hand to his lips. With a wink, he’d stated how much he looked forward to working with such a lovely lady.

“I’m sure we’ll get along famously, won’t we lhhei?” On anyone else, that level of flirty presumptuousness would’ve bordered on annoying, but with him, well...as he winked at me from across the table during Sloan’s briefing, I couldn’t help but acknowledge that he made it work for him.

With a quick mental shake, I tried my best to focus on our mission. Section Thirty-One and the Tal Shiar did partner together at times, but it was still rare enough that we needed be on our best behavior to make sure relations between our organizations remained cordial. I couldn’t afford to get distracted and do sloppy work. Sloan would have me for breakfast if I fucked this up.

Still, I found my eyes straying back over to the Riov without my mind’s consent. He gave me a warm smile when my gaze met his - had he ever looked away?

“Understood, Dhaemnasi,” he replied in that utterly sinful, low voice. Those sharp, mischief-filled eyes didn’t leave mine for the rest of the briefing. When we were finally left to our own devices to discuss the mission, Riov S’Talon leaned back in his seat and allowed his eyes to skim over me. “Well, lhhei, it seems we’ll be working together for quite some time. I suggest we take a few moments to get to know one another. After all, we’ll be working very closely for this mission.”

The suggestiveness in his voice made me smirk as I walked over to the food slot and ordered two cups of tea. Sliding one over to my new partner, I tried to match his tone with a smirk of my own.

“What would you like to know, Riov?” 

“Oh, many things, but, for propriety’s sake, I doubt I can say even half of them aloud,” he murmured before taking a sip of his tea. The thought of him saying inappropriate things in that voice of his made me bite my lip.

“Is that so?” I realized belatedly that I sounded probably just as flustered as I felt.

“Yes, of course. With a gorgeous woman like you, who wouldn’t be curious beyond the bounds of decorum?” S’Talon asked, and I couldn’t help but let out a little huff of laughter. “You doubt my sincerity?”

“No, I’ve just never been on the receiving end of such flattery before,” I said as I crossed my legs carefully beneath the table.

“Flirtation is only flattery, lhhei, if it is not true. I assure you, I mean every word.” His gaze shifted to something a little softer. “Have you ever been sketched before?”

“What?” At the sudden change in topic, I couldn’t help but wonder what he was getting at.

“Has anyone ever drawn you? Or painted you, perhaps? Graphite or oil paints would certainly allow enough flexibility to capture your likeness in more precise detail,” the Riov murmured, seemingly deep in thought. Was he an artist?

“No, not to my knowledge. Why?” He simply smiled and got to his feet, wandering slowly to my side of the table with some question in his eyes. He leaned against the smooth, black surface and offered me his hand, which I took almost without conscious thought. He lifted it to his lips, placing a slow kiss onto my knuckles as he looked into my eyes.

“Because, lhhei, over the course of this mission, I’d like to change that answer to a confident, resounding ‘yes.’ You deserve for the answer to that question to be a ‘yes’ so that generations from now, your beauty can still be admired and appreciated. First, however, I would like to sample this tea from a slightly different source,” S’Talon leaned in slightly before stopping. His voice came out low and raspy when he spoke again. “I’d like to become more familiar with every part of you, lovely. With your permission, of course...?”

Swallowing nervously, I realized I’d made that decision the moment I laid eyes on Riov S’Talon.

“If you believe such familiarity would be beneficial to our mission, rekkhai, then who am I to say no?” The devilish grin he gave me made my heart flutter in anticipation. Maybe this assignment wouldn’t be so bad after all.

“It definitely will. The more you know about your partner, the easier it is to gauge their strengths,” S’Talon murmured, “and there is no better way to learn about a person than through their pleasures...”

He trailed off and closed the remaining distance between our lips with a hungry hum, placing my hand on his chest. In the space of a desperate breath, the Captain lifted me from my seat and placed me atop the table. Standing between my legs, he grasped my waist and nibbled his way down my neck. His mouth spread into a devious grin against my skin when he managed to draw a whimper from my throat. 

“Exquisite. Oh, my dear lady, I daresay this is going to be a very interesting collaboration,” he crooned as an insistent hardness rose between us. “Tell me, how would you prefer that I take you first? As we are now? Or bent over the conference table? I’m at your service entirely...partner.”

Can we get some more in depth headcanons about Herzegovina ?

anon you just made the worst mistake of your life. You are about to recieve a character analysis like nothing else.

But for the purpose of this being an "in depth" headcanon collection I'm leaving out my usual appearance headcanons because it doesn't apply here (unless the 'in depth' appearance headcanon you wish for is her having a mole under her right boob or something)

Oh and before we go ahead let me please also say this:

She is not my character. But this post may view her as so, because my version of her is so different from Tix' original character. Just so you know. Also, I am not a historian and therefore I will not get into any historical topics that may be relevant in this character's life, I am only going to talk about her as if she was a person. I hope you enjoy

Despite her mean looks and dominant aura, she’s only like that on the outside. It’s hard to really get under her skin to see what’s beloe her resting bitch face but I’ll try my best

She’s a very caring person. It really doesn’t seem that way from her behaviour, but she (almost) never actually means to do anyone any harm

She’s stern in looks and speech but that’s simply because of how she presents herself. She’s a task oriented person and will not stop until said task is completed, wether you like it or not.

Her emotions (mostly her anger) get in the way of things and because of that it can sometimes look like they are more in charge of her, than she is of them. That’s not entirely true, she’s a very logical person, it’s just that she’s impatient and has a short fuse.

In fact, when she’s not speaking, she’s most likely very busy in her mind. This makes her prone to zoning out and staring in one direction (and if that direction happens to be where you’re sitting, you might get the impression she’s planning to kill you).

In that way, her and Bosnia are simmilar. They both tend to think too much and zone out, especially in conversation. I just think Herze’s better at paying attention to her surroundings at the same time, and therefore doesn’t get the „airheaded” label that her husband is often stuck with.

By the way, I would like to mention that it’s not like I consider Enis to be „stupid” and Idriza to be „Smart”, mostly because I believe both of these labels are hurtful in different ways and should not be used towards people. Rather, I think they’re different from eachother and thats part of why I like them so much.

Back to Herze, her ability to focus on more than one thing at a time, coupled with her tendency to speak fast makes her witty in words, often snapping back at her conversation partner.

On Top of that, she’s snarky, sarcastic, and brutally honest.

Probably one of her biggest flaws is the fact that she simply does not care about the feelings of whoever she’s talking with. Winning an argument is more important than how the person is gonna feel.

She also doesn’t care about what others feel about her.

Contrary to someone like Tatjana, who’s very self concious about other people’s opinion of her, herze just… doesn’t.

The two last headcanons may potentially result from her being slightly narcissistic.

That doesn’t mean she’s a completely cold and heartless person - earlier I mentioned she cares about others and one of the ways she shows it is through her love language, which is acts of service.

And speaking of love language: it’s time to talk about her relationship with Bos.

I’ll start by saying, that even though I mentioned I won’t be adressing historical events, I stated in an earlier post that I headcanon Enis and Idriza got married while they were under the Ottoman empire, aka living with uncle Turkey.

They were both teenagers, being physically around 16 or 17, and before that, they didn’t really have any relationship besides „that boy is so loud, I don’t like him” and „that girl is so mean, I don’t like her”.

And when they got married it was mostly the same. Sure, they lived together, but they weren’t interested in eachother.

It was pretty…akward for the both of them, and it took a long time for them to even get along, and an even longer time to open up to eachother.

In current times their relationship is much different. They still don’t always get along, but now it’s less: „that boy is so loud” and more: „he’s so cheerful and funny”. Likewise, she is no longer: „that girl is so mean”, and more: „she is so confident and open about her thoughts”.

Living so long made them not only appreceate eachother, but also be able to understand the other person like no one else. Often instead of speaking, they simply exchange knowing looks.

For Herze, Enis has both the ability to calm her down in most situations, just as well as make her mad in literally 2 seconds. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

And now to talk about „the product of their love” (not really).

This is a tough one, because I have to talk about a headcanon I avoided talking about, but whatever I don’t care anymore.

Herze loves children. Babies to be specific. And one of my headcanons is that she always wanted one, but being a nation (I see you sitting in the back saying she’s a region not a nation and I do not care lol) of course, she can’t have one.

I feel like it’s that way for many nations, where they desire something that only humans can have - aging, children, falling in love and spending your life with them, a peaceful death etc.

And she just has baby fever.

That’s mostly why, I think she actually could potentially Love srpska. He’s not „hers”, and he can be a handful, but neither she, nor Bos resent him.

Like with Enis, she mostly shows it through actions, rather than words.

It’s simmilar on Ilija’s side too, she’s his mom and there’s no debate over it. He even calls her that, while he calls Enis by his name.

I also feel like with Bos - Srpska always denies him being his dad because he believes Vuk is his father, but with Herze? There’s no one else for him to choose from, really. And I think he doesn’t want to choose. After all, she takes good care of him.

But more on that in the next post about herze-mom-headcanons :DD

Lastly, I wanna talk about her… brother? Cousin?? I don’t even know. We’re gonna call Dražen her brother because thats my headcanon.

She definetly cares a lot about him. Is it onesided? Maybe, but Cro would probably never tell her she annoys him sometimes, even though thats how he feels.

I honestly think they were just closer when they were young, and little herze definetly idealized her big brother, so whatever admiration she has for him today is just what’s left of those times.

Because of that, even in present times, she treats him differently than others, having that little part that deeply respects him, she almost never raises her voice at him, or complain about something he Did.

So…. I think that’s all I wanted to say about her :))

**Eventually, Kurt moved from writing in a journal to post his thoughts in a private blog. It’s basically the same system but in a different format, by then most of his posts were in English cause in this blog we consider English as his second language and Kurt worked hard on speaking it perfectly so, writing in English on his journal/blog is a way to flex his braincells for he is multilingual and he doesn’t want to forget. Whenever he doesn’t want anyone to understand what he wrote/posted, he does it in German, you know, for the: what if they find my journal or blog and they read what I posted?**

They can stare, talk behind my back, point at me, laugh, whisper or even just insulting me in my face and I swear I’ll be fine. I will deal with it the way I’ve dealt with since I was aware of what I am: by existing and showing them I can be happy and wholesome despite their hate.

BUT I SWEAR, IF THEY MESS WITH MY DAUGTHER AGAIN I WON’T BE PATIENT!!!

Today, Talia arrived home in tears. Wanda wasn’t home and I had to deal with that alone. I usually don’t mind but the frustration was too much to bare and it was hard to contain my anger. I just wanted to go back to that fucking school and punch the Principal right in the nose.

suzaki ryo, amagai kohei, and the distance between their expressions of love

the first thing to point out is that ryo isn’t vocal. he believes his actions far outweigh his words and his expressions of affection are largely hidden within the things he does and the lengths he goes to for kohei. in contrast, kohei Needs to hear affection towards him. he’s got a heavy need for words of affirmation that ryo doesn’t actually naturally fulfill because ryo thinks kohei should be able to tell how much he cares through everything he does for him.

naturally this causes problems between them. and not on ryo’s end.

ryo has never doubted kohei’s affection for him. even when kohei treated him like shit and walked over him and his heart, he never thought kohei didn’t care for him in his own little twisted nepo baby way. even though their love languages don’t match and kohei never actually does the things ryo generally requires to feel adored, he knows kohei does.

of course it’s not all fun and games because the things kohei does to try and show he cares are hard for ryo to accept. kohei places heavy emphasis of gift giving because all his life, money has been the way he’s shown his status, his power, his control. naturally, when showing his love, he also uses his money.

except kohei puts a strange amount of thought into it. it’s more than just wrapping money in an envelope and chucking it into ryo’s hands for ryo to buy anything he wants. kohei notices when ryo likes something when they’re out and he’ll discreetly buy it and wrap it nicely and give it to ryo when ryo’s least expecting it. and these items are high value, extremely pricey items that ryo doesn’t actually know what to do with. like he just thought that jacket they saw last week was cool and maybe looked at it a few times, he didn’t expect kohei to actually drop $600 buying it for him???? what is kohei’s problem

ryo wears the gifts, uses the gifts, but he’s overly careful with them because he thinks kohei might get upset if he damages them which kinda defeats the purpose of kohei giving them in the first place.

their communication is TRASH btw. they love and care for each other so much but kohei would get a hernia if he voiced how he felt and ryo exhausted all his communication skills for life during the Great Senomon Gym Fight

anyway back to kohei

kohei tries to be okay with the fact that ryo doesn’t say i love you or tell him he cares or anything. he should know it. after everything ryo has done for him it’s only logical that ryo loves him. and yet. yet.

i mentioned before i think of kohei as having problems with trust because of something that probably happened to him pre-senomon, a betrayal from people he considered friends perhaps, and that bleeds into his relationship with ryo. he’s insecure and scared that maybe ryo will never love him enough and he’ll never be enough and even if logically he knows it’s not true he can’t silence the side of his brain that keeps thinking ryo hates him because ryo won’t say i love you.

they’re so different, they’re fundamentally different. kohei is so afraid of losing ryo. he’s already lost himself before so what would he do if he kept himself and lost ryo this time? he knows he’d never recover. on the other hand, ryo tiptoes around him because he can’t adjust to kohei’s lifestyle or anything of the sort.

anyways these idiots would probably never speak about it Ever, until one day one of them moves a little to the left and everything explodes and they have a big fight. and during that fight as they scream and cry at each other all their hidden thoughts and feelings come to light

they should leave each other, they’re clearly terrible for each other

and yet. well they try. and even if it doesn’t work out in the end (it will. i’m crazy.) they’re willing to try because nobody has ever mattered more and nobody has ever meant more. they keep trying, they make promises to talk to each other even if it gives them both nausea to think about conversing about their feelings. and well, nobody really understands them but it’s fine because they do.

Song review: Ukraine

Well, we’ve got the first entry of Eurovision 2023! And as promised, I’m posting my review. Note that these reviews are based on the song right after its selection/release and are subject to change. If you don’t want to see these posts, just blacklist the tag “escmemes reviews”.

To give a small explanation on this and the upcoming reviews, they’ll consist of two or three parts: first, I’ll give my personal opinion on the song, then try to predict its chances of succeeding in the actual contest. Those two can contradict each other at times, because just because I might like a song doesn’t mean I see it as objectively successful, and vice versa. If the song was chosen in a national final, I’ll also give my opinion on the selection in general and mention some of my favourite songs from there.

Without further ado, let’s check what the latest winner has in store for us!

TVORCHI - Heart of Steel

Personal opinion: Let’s start by saying, I like the song. It’s a well-produced, catchy pop track. The lyrics might be more on the basic side, but I like the open nature of them; it can be interpreted as a song on Ukrainian peoples’ resilience during wartime (a message further supported by the Vidbir performance), but even when taken out of the context, it works well as a general empowerment song.

Speaking of the performance, I think it was the best of the selection alongside Krut’s. Some may think of the war-related imagery as a little bit too, what’s the word, anvilicious? But for some reason it didn’t feel preachy to me, maybe because they were still able to make a stylistic performance that supported the song rather than distracted from it. Which is good. And the lead singer was charismatic and confident on stage, so no complaints on that department, either.

Prediction: Here’s where the criticism comes in. While Heart of Steel stands well on its own, when it comes to the selection as a whole, there were multiple other songs with more success potential. What I liked about Ukraine’s latest entries was the willingness to take risks by sending a unique song with cultural influences, and the results have proven the risk was worth it (true, geopolitics also played a significant role in Kalush’s success, but even disregarding the war, the song in itself was outstanding and would've received a top ten result in any case). Now the country has gone back to playing it safe with an English-language, mainstream-friendly pop song. And while that doesn’t necessarily equal a low result, it’s likely we’ll hear similar songs from other countries, which won’t help in standing out. I also highly doubt we’ll see a Kalush effect for the second year in a row; the sympathies for Ukraine were high last spring, which obviously helped power them into a victory, but as the war goes on, it’ll fade into the background for the rest of Europe and have less of an emotional impact. Sounds horrible when put this way, but that’s how things tend to go. But even that aside, this song doesn’t have anything that screams “winner” to me. Winning entries tend to have some “wow” factor in them that encourages people to vote for them out of all songs; simply sounding nice isn’t enough.

So no, I don’t think this song has chances to win, but I do see potential for an otherwise good result (even though it’s hard to tell at this point, when no other songs are selected yet). For the reasons mentioned in my personal opinion, I can see this doing well in the jury vote, and it might very well please many televoters (aka the non-eurofan audience who may be put off by more “campy” songs). And of course, since it’s Ukraine we’re talking about, we can’t ignore the influence of neighbor/diaspora voting. At this point, I predict a placing on the left side of the scoreboard, maybe even on the top ten - but not on the podium.

Thoughts on the selection: First of all, props to the Ukrainian broadcaster for creating a well-produced show despite the circumstances. When watching, it was easy to forget this was filmed in a metro station. You don’t need a Melodifestivalen-style megashow to have a good selection.

As for the quality of the songs, it ranged from “blander than a slice of white bread” to “this could give Ukraine their second win in a row”. My favourite was Krut’s beautifully haunting ballad, and after the strong and emotional performance, I would’ve gladly backed the jury and sent it to Liverpool. (Seriously, this is the second year in a row that the Vidbir jury has a better taste than the general public. How about Ukraine just skips Vidbir next year and lets Jamala & Friends select internally about submitted entries?) I also loved Jerry Heil’s unique entry; sure, the live performance would’ve needed a massive revamp for the contest, but even tonight, Jerry’s emotional performance made up for the amateurish staging. My third place would go to Fiinka and her energetic song with ethnic vibes.
