Daily Danganronpa Fun Fact #79
Before completing V3, the background screen for the gallery menu will show one of the 16 students in their default sprite. After completing V3, the background can be Tsumugi with her mastermind eyes. The paint around the screen also changes colors.

Extra Fact: After the first chapter, you can get Shuichi without his hat. He can still appear with his hat, so you could get either version after chapter 1.

Possible Fact (?)
Monokuma and the Monokubs might only appear after completing the game. I was able to get both on my completed file but I checked over 500 (not exaggerating) times on my file where it’s not completed and they never appeared. I say possible because I might just be insanely unlucky. So they might appear beforehand and I just never got them…

So apparently Kokichi is confirmed to be Not Straight by Kodaka, that he doesn't care about gender and falls in love with anyone so long as he has fun with his partner.
Which is cool to see on one hand--but on the other hand, this feels like it's going to spark intense upset with people who HC him a very specific way.
And with that in mind, if other characters who are heavily coded to be queer (Looking at you Kaito) in a nonconventional way, maybe written to be that way unintentionally, can easily be "confirmed" to be "straight" or something.
While it feels like the V3 cast is the most queer out of any Drv3 cast, and while it's cool to get these kinds of queer confirmations, I'm going to remind everyone that these as still not canon. They were not present or confirmed in any canon material and are just word of god--and as a creator myself, I know how unreliable word of god can be.
So if Kodaka decides to confirm a character's sexuality to be something that doesn't align with your interpretations, remember that word of god is not canon until it is put in canon material.
#Kokichi Ouma#Kaito Momota#Shuichi Saihara#Danganronpa V3#DRV3#Anyway while this is really cool I so do not trust Kodaka for shit#Sus. Mega sus.#Getting this in before Kaito's “confirmed to be straight” or something by this ignorant man#and for antis to take that and run with it#See I really do appreciate confirming characters to be queer but like. This also is such a precarious situation#I would've just said “Hey man. He's whatever you think he is.”#And left it at that#still#Very wary of this kind of situation tbh. You all should be.

More Than a Label: Rethinking V3's 'Dumb' Characters
It's weird how the characters that we and the game constantly call stupid are actually some of the smartest.
Well, a lot of characters fit this bill, but seeing as I am a DR rant blog, I'm talking specifically about Tenko Chabashira, Kaito Momota, and Gonta Gokuhara.
Now these characters are now referred to as dumb by the game and particularly the fandom for pretty similar reasons.
Gonta because of his speech pattern particularly is portrayed as Tarzan's speech, and his understanding of normal things we find simple like technology and most famously in chapter 4 where he was manipulated by Kokichi, but the localization, NIS America did change his character a lot they changed his backstory and how the whole killing game buster thing happened in chapter 4.
Which is funny because all three of the characters I'm talking about in this rant were changed pretty heavily by NIS America.
In the Japanese characterization, Gonta's backstory is more ambiguous, being raised by a forest family and developing an extensive knowledge of insect species, his speech pattern is more polite and formal, and the third-person way of speech is culturally associated with child-like innocence and a cute endearing or 'quirky' personality-not dumb.
And in chapter 4 he had more of an idea what was going on in Kokichi's plan from the beginning and acted upon his own decisions rather than just being a blindly lead victim till the end.
But in general, Gonta has a deep knowledge of insects and astrology (for this analysis we are ignoring the ending) and good observational skills that are helpful in class trials like how he noticed that he must be far away from home because the constellations looked different in chapter two and his knowledge about the state of the floorboards and the way the seesaw trick was carried out in chapter three which span both the Japanese and English translations.
Kaito is portrayed as being dumb due to his struggles in trials and his refusal to acknowledge certain truths because they go against his ideals.
But Kaito's intelligence while being shown in some ways on paper by passing the astronaut entrance exams excels in more ways than academically he has emotional intelligence and leadership shown by how he interacts with everyone particularly him supporting Shuichi and pushing him to grow his confidence and seeing past Maki cold exterior and helping her open up emotionally and also in chapter 5 acting out Kokichi's plan which shows strategy and trust.
He also possesses a good amount of street smarts that people overlook.
Tenko is often seen as dumb because of her loud over emotional nature and mannerisms. Some people also don't take her seriously because of her 'man-hating' and her relationship with Himiko.
Tenko also has the same problem as Gonta with localization. In the original Japanese her speech patterns are more elegant and refined, and her male hating is turned back exponentially.
Tenko is however extremely emotionally intelligent her flipping ability which allows her to read people's emotions contributes to this as well as her encouraging Shuichi to build his confidence and Himiko to express her emotions more.
It spans beyond this however in chapter 3 Tenko infiltrates Angie's cult to protect Himiko and avoids brainwashing as well as making it her mission to help Himiko grow from her emotional suppression.
Finally, Tenko allows herself to be the medium for Angie (whom she had a rivarly with) in the seance for Himiko showing her deep empathy self-awareness and willingness to prioritize someone else's emotional healing over her own safety. Is a clear demonstration of her emotional intelligence and wisdom.
In conclusion, whether a character is intelligent or not really depends on how the piece of media portrays the character and how the viewers define intelligence.
I think school systems have definitely skewed our perceptions of intelligence making us think intelligence is just test scores and book smarts rather than street smarts and emotional intelligence.
Gonta Kaito and Tenko- while not in the same as Shuichi or Kokichi- are smart. And I don't think our skewed perception and bad localization should determine how we view them.
Some characters are written to be dumb, and that's fine but Gonta Kaito and Tenko? They aren't.
They're loud, naive, and emotional but they aren't complete idiots.
And I hope this rant helped you realize that.
#danganronpa#danganronpa v3#drv3#tenko chabashira#kaito momota#gonta gokuhara#character analysis#I think it falls heavily on the game’s portrayal the characters#like most fanon depictions of Shuichi and Kokichi are that they are intelligent#because the game portrays them that way#NIS America also changed a lot#But I also think the fandom plays a big part with it's interpretation of characters#Like Kaito Tenko and Gonta are always placed into the idiot box#Realistically it's everyone's fault#they deserved better

Ahh Happy Birthday Korkeiyo!!! My favorite Danganronpa character. What a journey it has been..
I’ll ramble about why I love him on another day, but I really really wanted to commemorate his birthday this year with a comic. (I’m also aware that my characterization of him is NOT 100% cannon accurate, but I tried).
While I wasn’t a huge fan of all the components of your twist, I was sad to see you die off in chapter 3. What an end to a otherwise intelligent, observant individual. I did go into V3 knowing about this twist, but you quickly grew on me and it became harder to ignore how much I liked your character. And sooner or later you’d quickly risen to one of my favorite characters of all time - and seemingly for so many other fans around the world! You were so clever in trial and you’re anthropological side was so cool. You’re so mysterious and intriguing and such a puzzle to think about.
Ahh I wish you survived, but alas, rest in piece mann. I’m so thankful you existed, by beloved.

could you do dangonronpa v3 cast x reader where the reader gives them a love note and when they give it to them they run away
i love this idea !! ofc i can do it ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )
💭 . ★⋆. ࿐࿔ drv3 cast reacts to being given a love letter
type | react , reader insert , love confessions , cute , no killing game
author's note* just testing out a (slightly) different format for my posts. feedback is appreciated and welcomed !! thank you
shuichi saihara ♥︎
he thinks he knows what it is , but wants to check with them to see if he's correct in his assumption. they've completely disappeared so now he can't :( he tries to hide his excitement. he's opening the letter awkwardly, doing his best to ignore the shakiness of his hands. he reads the letter to himself, in his head. his calm expression from before changes into a soft smile while he spends the rest of his day reading it over and over. he'll need some time to think about what he's going to say to them in response...
rantaro amami ♥︎
"oh? is this for....me?" he's seen that they've already ran off, leaving him all alone with this letter. he opens it , careful to not tear the envelope too much (he'll probs reuse to send a postcard later on) he's kind of flustered upon reading it at first, but as he reads on, he gets happy. he feels himself become warm. it's a nice type of warm. he basks in the feeling while he thinks of what he could possibly say in response to their love note 💭
kiibo ♥︎
he's legit so happy. he's never gotten a love letter before, so imagine his surprise when they slip one into his hands and run away. he's kind of sad that they ran before he had a chance to speak with them, tell them about how much he appreciates it. nevertheless, he reads it. then reads it again, and again. and oh how excited he is to make one in response telling them exactly how he feels!
korekiyo shinguji ♥︎
it's a new, and rather exciting thing for kiyo to receive this letter. he doesn't think of them rude to just run off after handing it ovee to him, instead adding to their mystique. perhaps, they just wanted him to take the contents of their letter all in, all by himself. either way, he reads it and holds it close to his chest. by dawn, he will have his response. he just needs to have a long brainstorm about what he's going to say
kaito momota ♥︎
kaito is shouting at them to come back so he can read and react to it with them still there. but alas, they still leave and kaito is left with nothing but an envelope and some mixed feelings. he decides to open it in his room. when he does read the note, he's yelling excitedly, dancing in place with the note still in hand. he only stopped when he realized he needs to think of a response ASAP so he can tell him how feels by tomorrow
gonta gokuhara ♥︎
gonta wants to thank them for the letter, but they've already taken off. he frowns but opens the letter right away anyway. his frown only turns into a smile the more he reads. he feels appreciated more than anything. he begins writing a letter of his own right away!
ryoma hoshi ♥︎
ryoma, although confused, doesn't mind so much that they suddenly took off. his focus is on tentatively taking the note out of the envelope so it doesn't tear. he begins to read it. he pulls his beanie down to hide his face, and starts to walk off as well. he really hopes nobody saw how red he turned. he's going to be thinking about this for the rest of the week. after he feels less embarrassed, then he'll respond.
kokichi ouma ♥︎
he lowkey wants to start chasing them just to mess with them but decides not to. he needs to get this envelope open straight away! he tears it open the same way a kid would tear open a gift on christmas morning. in all honestly, he thought it would be some prank...so when it turned out to be a genuine love note from them. he didn't really know what to say or do. he'll most likely tease them about how quickly they ran off, not really knowing of any other way to confront them about this
kaede akamatsu ♥︎
she tries thanking them for their letter right then and there, but they run off while she's doing so. she kind of just shrugs it off and gets to opening up the envelope. she's like :o as soon as she sees what's inside. she thinks their note is totally cute! and she *needs* them to know it, too. she's on her way to tell them about how she feels.
tsumugi shirogane ♥︎
"oh dear...." she sighs, watching them run away from her. the anticipation of what could possibly be waiting for her in this letter is killing her so she gets it open soon after they leave.
on the outside she's a blushing mess but inside she's an even bigger mess. she's happy that they took the time to write this note but also kind of lost on what she's going to say in response...she's never received something like this before
miu iruma ♥︎
at first, she's kind of laughing because of how fast they ran away. she thinks they're a bit of a scaredy cat even though she would probably do the same thing 🤭 her cockiness gets shut down quick as soon as she reads what is on the note. she genuinely stunned , and she stays like that for the rest of the day. the girl genius' brain can only work so hard. she sleeps on what her response is going to be and writes it the following morning.
angie yonaga ♥︎
doesn't mind too much that they ran off as soon as they slipped her the note. she waits until after she's prayed to open it up. she reads it happily and then begins to doodle a response on the back of the note, fully planning to give it to them the next day. she wants to see their reaction.
maki harukawa ♥︎
was about to ask them what the note is about before they ran off but it was too late. she's skeptic on what's inside so she hesitantly opens it up. she reads it over, becoming half anxious, half flustered. she touches her hair to calm her nerves. she gives another read so she's certain that all she read wasn't just her eyes playing tricks on her. later, that same day, maki sits down to write a very formal response to them.
tenko chabashira ♥︎
she doesn't know why exactly they just handed this letter over to her and ran, but she's yelling out a 'THANK YOU!" for it. the more she reads , the more she gets excited. she doesn't care about how loud she's getting because her focus is all on the contents of the note. she's going to punch something out of pure excitement!! she's going to make her response as if it was an emergency.
himiko yumeno ♥︎
as she watches them run away, she asks: "nyeh? why me?" after some time of debating whether or not she should read the note, she does. she feels herself getting embarrasingly flustered. she is a little surprised though considering she didn't need to cast a love spell on anyone to receive a note like this this time.

Project: Eden's Garden Chapter 1 Trailer Analysis
Oh my god it's actually time.
As I'm sure you've heard by now, Team Eden's Garden has finally announced the release date for the fangan's true first chapter: December 20th. And, they did so in a flashy new trailer, which is nearly three minutes long! Naturally, there's a lot of content baked in to those three minutes, so I'm here to take a look at what was flashing by in those rapid-fire montages, as well as make predictions regarding what will happen at the first Class Trial. This will be fun!
And here's hoping I don't run out of images 🤞
The trailer begins with the "mascot" (in this case, Tozu) saying that it's been far too long since we last conversed. Classic.
Next, we see a preview of some locations, both new and old. CAM04: Dorm Hallway and CAM24: Tree of Ignorance were already explorable areas within the Prologue, and CAM08: Damon's Dorm was visible in the Ch1 demo released last year(?). The new locations include CAM32: Hallway A1, CAM35: Pharmacy A1, and CAM39: Pharmacy A5.
(By the way, I'm going to assume that both the numbering of the cameras and the time displayed in the lower right have no particular meaning, because I can't find any connections between them. At first I thought it was weird that Damon's dorm was Camera #8 despite him being 9th in alphabetical last name order, but given that the hallway is Camera #4, I don't think there's a correlation).
While all of the images are intentionally blurry, I'll do the best I can to describe what we can see. The most obvious point of interest is the door at the back of the hallway, under which "CAUTION" is written in big red letters. It also seems that there might be blood dripping down the door, which, if true, would match with the other blood splatter on the floor near the bottom right of the screen. It definitely gives the impression that something happened here before, and that that something was bad. There's also a grate on the wall that's splattered with red, but given that blood is pink in the DR universe, I'm assuming that's rust.
The pharmacies are very interesting to me. First of all, there are two of them. What kind of establishment needs two separate pharmacies? I guess you might if the pharmacies are as different as the two pictured. One looks more like an old-fashioned office or science classroom (it kind of reminds me of v3's Ultimate Detective Lab, honestly), and the other like a scientific research facility. A pharmacy is defined as "a store where medicinal drugs are dispensed and sold," so perhaps Pharmacy A1 is for selling and Pharmacy A5 is for creating?
The "A" in these tags could stand for "area," but they more likely stand for "alpha." At the end of the Chapter 1 demo (watch Weeby Newz's video on it if you want the same level of info I have), the students are about to go through the lowercase "alpha" door in the Tree Room to explore a new area. These three areas are almost certainly behind that door-- perhaps with the checkered pharmacy being room #1, and the blue pharmacy being room #5?
It's also possible that the entire area is considered "the pharmacy," and is dedicated to the production of medicine. But, whether that's the case or not, I have to ask, "why?" Out of all the things they could have put into this falsified Eden's Garden Academy, why make two rooms dedicated to creating drugs? Why potentially make up to five rooms dedicated to creating drugs? With very little information regarding the overarching plot of Eden's Garden, it's hard to determine why. The only connection I can make offhand is that this may have been the origin site of the drugs used to knock everyone out on the train.
I do find it very interesting, though, that this is not just a location in the school, but the very first one we're discovering. Normally, I'd think that places like these, which aren't that conducive to students hanging out (like a pool or recreation center) would be reserved for future chapters. It may imply that drugs and/or poisons are a necessary component of the Chapter 1 murder. We'll see!
Our first of the rapid-fire CGs! This one shows Kai pointing at something within a fancy pink room. There's a canopy bed dressed with pink cloth, some floral-looking wallpaper, and two small paintings of what also appear to be plants on the wall.
Given the appearance of Damon's room earlier in the trailer, I find it likely that this is not a new location in the alpha corridor, but instead, someone's room. There are many pink colored characters in P:EG-- Diana, Toshiko, and Kai himself-- as well as Cassidy, whose character color is close to pink, and Ingrid, who has pinkish hair. Of the main three options, I'm guessing that this is probably Kai's room.
People have been quick to diagnose this as a potential BDA image. If that's true, I acknowledge that this being Kai's room would be a wild choice, because it would mean that someone other than Kai was found dead in Kai's room. It would be a THH parallel, though! I just think that it's likely to be his because, well, he's in there, and all of the references to flowers seems fitting for his butterfly motif. However, Toshiko's kimono does have flower patterns on it, and flowers also match up with the ~romance~ of the Ultimate Matchmaker. If this is Kai providing a BDA in Toshiko's room, though... maybe Toshiko isn't dodging those first victim allegations.
If it's not a BDA, though, what is Kai pointing at? Imagine if it's just a spider or something, lol. He does look pretty worried, so perhaps this could be the arrival of something like DRDT's custom weapons? If a weapon suddenly appeared in my room a the killing game, I'd be kind of worried. It could also be a mysterious note, as (spoilers) we're about to see a few of in this trailer.
One cute(?) thing to mention is that, if this is Kai's room, it likely means that Kai was willing to invite Damon into his room to check whatever this is out. That could mean that they're friends! It's not cute if this is actually a BDA. It's also not cute if Kai is becoming Damon's friend just so that it hurts more when he dies in Chapter 1 :(
Woah, it's a note! (/j)
This and the image directly before it in the trailer seem to be of the same thing: a piece of paper that says "to Damon Maitsu" on it. Or, it's possible that the first one just says "Damon Maitsu" and this one says "to Mr. Maitsu"-- they look a little different, although the handwriting seems identical. I don't think there's any paper conspiracy for me to crack here.
To my memory, the prologue included some flashback CGs, so I would imagine that's what's happening here, unless Damon actually kept his Eden's Garden acceptance letter on his person (possible). It could also be a new letter that Damon receives during the course of the killing game if, as I posited, Kai was pointing out a letter he received in his room.
And furthermore, more note content? Why is this hypothetical piece of paper more visible in the trailer than Toshiko?! (/j)
Or, maybe it isn't. This note seems to read, "Meet in [???] at 8:10 p.m. tonight [???] Damon Maitsu." Due to the spacing of the words-- namely, that it doesn't seem like there's much more to this message beyond what we can see-- this paper appears to be pretty small. Combined with the color, I predict that this note is, in fact, sticky. And therefore, not the same as the piece of paper (which also has a different ink color) as the other note.
Further extrapolating from the spacing, the note looks like it's signed "-- Damon Maitsu". Otherwise, there would need to be a word before Damon, the end of which has no letters tall enough to appear next to the D. (It's LGI's "Ms. Naegi" crisis all over again... /ref) If so, that means that we might have an example of Damon's handwriting on our hands! Or the handwriting of someone who was trying to impersonate Damon :/
I wish we had a better lead on where this note was telling folks to meet up, but it's way too vague.
Then, yet another piece of paper! It's definitely different than the yellow one, and probably different from the signed one as well, due to being typed and not handwritten. Then again, sometimes typed letters have a handwritten signature at the bottom, so it's not impossible.
This text's formatting reminds me of how scripts are normally written: both the font and the center alignment are used in standard scriptwriting formats. I actually at first thought that everything after "beneath a" might have been spoken by a character whose name starts with L, but that would mean that their dialogue starts with a lowercase letter. Plus, names on scripts are usually written more like this (imagine it's centered):
LINDSAY beneath a [shoulder] If only [head]
in the sense that the character speaking's name is in all caps. There appears to be a lowercase i after the capital L, so it's probably not a name.
Still, that begs the question of why the top line is so much shorter than the one beneath it. In a normal passage, all of the lines would have relatively even margins other than possibly the last one. Could the wonky spacing be indicative of a poem, or something else written in verse? Due to the script/poem idea, I'm inclined to believe this belongs to the ever-dramatic Tozu, but I could be wrong.
Next is another CG, depicting Damon, Cassidy, and a sneaky Jean in the background. Based on the shape of Damon's ahoge, we can tell he's a little annoyed or flustered by whatever Cassidy is pointing at.
The wallpaper pattern we see in the background is that of the Dining Hall. Do NOT ask me how I remembered this offhand, because I don't know.
Furthermore, based on the wall being to the characters' left, it's likely that they're standing on the left side of the room. (It's possible in reality that it could be anywhere else in the room in front of the wallpaper only, but based on cinematography rules I won't bother explaining this is probably the case.) So, what is Cassidy pointing at? It could be the fireplace, the painting of the jackal, or the vent. Or, obviously, something new that appears in the Dining Hall in Chapter 1.
Based on my theories that the vent will be involved in the Chapter 1 murder, I'm inclined to believe that it might be what Cassidy's pointing out. If that's true, it means that she (and Jean) (and Damon) is dodging the Chapter 1 victim allegations! However, given that the characters are looking upwards, unless they're on the floor, it's probably not actually the vent. Maybe it's something on the fireplace mantle?
Also, based on straight vibes and nothing else, I don't think this is a serious CG. It might just be that it reminds me of v3's casino CG, but I kinda feel like Cassidy is just trying to teach Damon a game while Jean watches, or something. Projector on the Dining Hall walls? "It's more likely than you think," I lie.
The next six images consist of three spooky screenshots of what seem to be some sort of database which say "Ultimate" (and a picture of Damon), and three zoom-ins on what I believe to be paintings found around the school.
The only one I found of particular note was this one, which sort of looks like two people getting married? Both figures seem to have light skin, and the one in the white dress might have some shoulder-length red hair. Cassidy marriage arc??? I can't imagine what context this photo/painting/CG would appear in, but it might be important.
After that a few illustrations depicting the killing game's rules flash by. I won't be uploading all of them because 1) you can probably guess at most already if you're familiar with DR/fangans, and 2) I think these might have been shown in the demo anyways. To sum up, I think the rules can be attributed as such:
Tozu is in charge (and/or participation in the killing game is mandatory)
No destroying school property, with a focus on cameras and NG bracelets
You can't kill/injure Tozu or Mara*
Students can become the blackened by killing
Once a dead body is found, it's time for a Class Trial
... The same thing again? Oh, maybe #5 was about how to trigger a BDA, then.
Um...
Okay, actually, I don't know what this one is. Is this saying that you can't rip paper, or you'll get executed? As in, papers that Tozu gives you? Dude, maybe my "Tozu gives the students mysterious letters" theory actually had some merit to it!
If not that, could this be something about breaching contracts? The Prologue did mention "registration materials" that Damon presumably signed. Those could have been a cover-up for a real waiver the students accidentally accepted. Or, maybe this is the big reveal that all of the characters are actors in a scripted performance. In Chapter 1? Yeah, probably not.
*Technically, only Tozu (who stands between Mara and the student) has an X over him, which could imply that it's only illegal to harm Tozu. However, it's likely that, when the rule is revealed in the e-Handbook, the graphic will cycle between Xs on Mara and Tozu, or something else to that effect. It would be interesting if the rules don't protect Mara, though. I'd imagine the in-universe explanation would be "see what happens if you even TRY to hurt Mara," but that would absolutely feel like a rule intended by the writers to be broken in the future.
I'm sure someone could do a super in-depth analysis of the religious implications of this painting, but that person is not me. All I will say is, "these are the animals of Mara and Tozu." Oh, and, based on the next image, this painting is located in Pharmacy 1.
New locations! Like I alluded to above, the first image is definitely of Pharmacy 1, and I think the second is too.
The third is a bit harder to decipher. We've got a glowing photocopier with an Eden's Garden Academy logo on it, a tiled floor, many green cabinets, a medical kit, and lots of vines. I wonder if this might be a third pharmacy that functions more like a doctor's office...? I don't know what the photocopier is there for in that case, though. I'm assuming that the location behind Jett in the fourth image is in the same room due to the similar green cabinets, and the fact that you can see a similar first aid kit on the wall behind him. If that's the case, there's also a sink in this room. That's not helping me either.
After that, we have a shot of Jean with a proposition in the Dining Hall, some general purposes art which I think we've seen before, and a slick 3D animation with Damon catching a fallen apple. What do they have in common? I don't have much to say about any of them.
Free Time time! Or, at least, I'm assuming that Ulysses' part is part of his first FTE, given that it was packaged in with all this other stuff. With this, we can conclude that Ulysses, Wenona, and Wolfgang will all be available for at least one FTE in Chapter 1. I am very curious about that in general-- with this first chapter release, will we immediately be able to view all of everyone's FTEs? Or will they cap everyone off at, like, two for now? Unfortunately, there's no way for me to answer that now.
The other three images are more intriguing. The first definitely shows Damon's gift inventory, with the Black Forest Cake being highlighted. The interesting bit is all of the chibi pixels to the side, with positive and negative arrows by some of their heads. At first, I thought that P:EG might be going for something like SDRA2's ambitious FTE system, where characters have positive or negative opinions on you based on actions you take and gifts you give. However, on further thought, I bet that this is an in-game way of telling you who will like which gifts. As far as I can tell, many people either look up which gifts to give which characters or save-scum until they get something right, so taking guessing out of the equation is probably a good thing. Plus, now we know that Diana, Jett, Toshiko, Mark, Wolfgang, Cassidy, Desmond, Eloise, and Kai like cake; Grace, Ingrid, and Wenona don't; and Damon, Jean, Ulysses, and Eva are neutral. It's an extra good system if it gives us insight into Damon as well!
The second is surely P:EG's equivalent of the Monomono Machine, with Damon receiving a zen garden from the funky hourglass contraption. The interesting part to me is that the currency is named Marabucks instead of Tozubucks. Yay for inclusivity? Also, I think it's fun that the percentage reads "1,13%" instead of the standard American "1.13%". (And P:EG seems to be, on the whole, an American-coded game, given that the majority of the characters speak in American-accented English and the cast's live appearance was in Texas.) Gives you a little behind the scenes peek at who was coding this section of the game :)
The last thing... uh, what? It seems to be a Pong-like minigame, probably used to earn bonus Marabucks. You bounce the "orbs" through the "pachinko" to... I guess score points against Mara and Tozu? And, probably if you do well enough, you get varying levels of money. Perhaps I spoke too soon, and the Marabuck is simply the lesser Tozubuck.
Up next comes some dramatic zoom-ins through those spiffy remodeled locations. I appreciate them jazzing up the "outdoor" area specifically; the lack of polygons in the doorway arch always bugged me. Even if they kept those similarly unbeveled shapes in the archways to the side... (/lh)
And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...
WE GOT SCENES FROM THE CLASS TRIAL?!?!?!
To clear the elephant in the room, as everyone has been reporting, Toshiko is the only student who can't be seen in the Class Trial at all. Does that mean she's dead? Uh, probably not. As part of a mystery-writing team, I would have to imagine that whoever crafted this trailer would be smart enough to know that their mystery-loving fans would comb through whatever they're given for answers (hi 👋). And, if there's one to be found, they'd find it. Therefore, I'm more inclined to believe that Toshiko's absence is an intentional red herring. Then again, this is very possibly the P:EG team's first time writing a fangan, so if they didn't think about things like that, it would be understandable.
So, who is dying if everyone else is present? To me, there's a big gulf between how easy it would be to fake someone's participation in the Class Trial. Subbing out a death portrait for a regular sprite is easy, recording a fake line of dialogue is a bit more effort, and creating original artwork is really not worth the effort. Thus, we can divide the characters into tiers.
ORIGINAL ART (basically guaranteed safe) Damon, Wenona VOICE ACTING (very likely to be safe) Diana, Grace, Wolfgang, Jean, Eva SPRITE VISIBLE (possibly most endangered) Mark, Desmond, Kai, Ingrid, Ulysses, Eloise, Cassidy, Jett TOTALLY ABSENT (reverse psychology safety???) Toshiko
Damon's unique minigame sprite and Wenona's Rebuttal Showdown art appearing over his face should also squash the rumors that Damon will be replaced before the first Class Trial at least, lol.
Within those tiers, I also want to highlight two outliers: Wolfgang and Eva. Because, of course it's those two.
Although Wolfgang is in the voice acting tier, in reality, I'd say he should be moved upward into the "basically guaranteed safe" tier. This is because his line is shown in Nonstop Debate format as opposed to the regular dialogue format. Although his lines don't have the animated word art thing going on, I still imagine that it would be easier to create a fake line in the regular dialogue boxes than in the minigame. Also, notice that I said lineS. Wolfgang also has two lines, and unless the team is really yanking our chains, I can't see why they would create two fake lines when one would surely suffice.
Meanwhile, while Eva is in the voice acting tier, she's bordering on the "possibly most endangered" tier. It may just be my "Eva could die first" bias speaking, but her line is a whole lot shorter and less specific than Diana's, Grace's, or Jean's. In fact, if you remove the comma, "obviously the case" could easily be one of her stock dialogue lines that plays over unvoiced portions of the Daily Life. If the team were to create a fake piece of dialogue for the Class Trial, sneakily repurposing a line that already exists for other purposes would be the most efficient way to do so.
Expanding on that, what is "obviously, the case" supposed to mean here? I'll once again draw attention to that comma. Grammatically, it's not that some truth is "obviously the case," but that the case is the thing that's obvious. In what context is Eva saying that, though?
Jett: Uhhh, sorry, what are we supposed to be focusing on again...? Eva: Obviously, the case.
Or, could a physical case, like a briefcase, be relevant to the murder?
Grace: But what could the killer have used to fucking store a disguise?! Eva: Obviously, the case.
The only thing I'm remembering offhand that could be a physical case is the medical kit, but obviously there are plenty of locations and props for this Chapter we haven't seen yet. At any rate, Eva's dialogue raised a flag for me. So, I'll be scrutinizing any cases we may see or any pre-Trial words Eva speaks when the Chapter comes out.
Also, Diana and Grace might be a bit safer than Jean and Eva because what Grace is saying seems to be a response to Diana. They both mention peace, and Desmond is striking the same pose in both of their shots. I doubt that the P:EG team would either record Diana expressing the same sentiment that someone else actually expresses, or come up with a fictitious response from Grace that doesn't actually exist. If you want to get really nitty-gritty about it, consider that tier as ranking Wolfgang as the most safe, then Grace, Diana, Jean, and then Eva :)
Under the dual assumptions that Toshiko is a red herring while Eva's dialogue is genuine (such that both of them are safe), though, who's the most likely victim from our "sprite visible" tier?
Well, the only victim option left from my Chapter 1 Killer/Victim theory is Kai. Fan-favorite first victim choice Cassidy is also on the table. Otherwise, I could see Ulysses, given that (if he's not the mastermind) he gives BIG victim energy with his notetaking becoming a central aspect of solving his Trial. I'd expect they'd save a gimmick like that for a later Trial, where it could better be used to shake up the status quo, but I could see it as a good intro case too. I could also see someone taking Desmond out if they were afraid of his weapon-wielding capabilities, although that's... kinda backwards thinking. Desmond's capability to kill is scary if you're trying to kill him, but it doesn't offer much in the Class Trial.
Still kinda convinced it's gonna be Eva, but I'm aware enough to recognize that's probably just the stubbornness of wanting to believe that my old theory was true.
Speaking of old theories coming true, can we rewind for a moment?
Jean: ...but, I'd rather be suspected than be the reason this trial comes to a standstill.
Hey. WHAT.
For anyone who hasn't read/forgot about the Chapter 1 victim/killer theory I just linked, in that post, I argued my case for why Jean would be our unexpected Chapter 1 killer. Needless to say, when I saw this, I screamed.
What does this MEAN?!?! Full disclosure, I was pretty convinced that the Jean!killer theory would either be, like, 100% on the money, or laughably incorrect to the level of accidentally misinterpreting Jean's entire personality or there not even being a hint of suspicion thrown on his name throughout the entire case. To see Jean acknowledging others' suspicion of him in the TRAILER has me reeling.
Assuming that this line isn't fake (which also guarantees that Jean isn't the first victim), this means that there will be a point in the Trial at which Jean will be suspected as the blackened. The line itself could easily be something that a sympathetic and honest spotless would say, or something that a blackened could say pretending to be just that, so we don't get any hints there. What reason would Jean have to be suspected if he isn't the killer? Why and how would anyone choose to frame him? But also, would the P:EG team really want to have their players go into the first Trial already primed to believe that Jean could be the blackened based on the trailer? I feel like this line was included as a cruel (/lh) trick on me specifically, but my theory wasn't nearly infamous enough to warrant that kind of attention.
It's absolutely going to be eyes on Jean for me when the first Chapter comes out. I'm so curious to see the context surrounding this quote. Did I actually call it early? Or will the "evidence" that I stacked up actually prove to make Jean a believable bait, but not the real blackened? (wouldn't be the first time :P /j)
Moving on, there's a very dramatic scene of Tozu looking over the Trial grounds, while Damon looks back. I double checked, and everyone is visible (in silhouette form) in this shot, which makes sense as it was likely created solely for this spoiler-free promotional material. In my mind, the only clues we can pick up here are that Damon is further cementing himself as the true protagonist of this story. He also blocks out Wolfgang as he looks at Tozu...? Could have symbolic significance, but could also just be a result of the pair being opposite each other in the Class Trial seating.
After that is another fast-paced montage. The first screen is the same shot of the Pharmacy table. I don't know why they put repeat info in here, but as far as I can tell, all of the props and textures and whatnot are the same. If my assessment that the murder would utilize the Dining Hall vent is wrong, I wonder if this could be a hint that Pharmacy A especially will have significant meaning-- possibly, as the site of the first BDA. That being said, they also repeat the same image of the photocopier ivy room as the third image in this montage. So, if that's the case, it means both locations will have to be highly relevant.
I feel like this image out of context looks really NSFW. I promise, that was not my intention...
Anyways, this is from the Prologue BDA.
It's Cara's doll legs, as is made extra apparent by that same cylindrical thing in the back. I'm not sure if this was put here because the Prologue case will continue to be really relevant to Chapter 1, or just because they wanted a BDA-looking thing for the Trailer yet didn't want to put in a spoiler one. Based on the different size/shape of Cara's thighs (now I feel NSFW /j), there is a slight possibility that what's shown in the Chapter 1 trailer is (an image of) the real Cara's body as opposed to the doll. However, we know that some sprites and backgrounds have been redone during the hiatus, and that could extend to Cara's art as well.
This knife is also from the Prologue BDA.
You think you're so clever, P:EG team, don't you...? (/lh)
Can you believe the students are going to investigate area alpha in Chapter 1? Or maybe this is Damon telling me I'm wrong about that, haha.
Hey, they rigged a 3D Tozu model! It's looking good. I'm sure they're glad that Tozu's mask meant that they don't have to make a whole mouth rig for the guy, lol. My guess is that this model will be used for Tozu's "punishment time" animation, the equivalent of Monokuma hitting his button with the mallet.
The last thing of note in this trailer (other than the release date) is the Chapter's splash art! The full version was posted to Twitter, which I'll be showing for clarity's sake.
“Strange that one minor event, one small action, can alter the path of everything.”
... You gotta start dodging these allegations better, Cassidy.
Chapter promo art predictions are always a tricky game when it comes to predicting who will die. On the creator's end, I'm sure you don't want to draw additional attention to your first deaths by spotlighting them in the artwork. But, if you want to highlight some of the most important characters of the chapter, that'll often include the victim and/or killer if the Daily Life is well-crafted. Plus, especially for early deaths like these, if you don't put them in the chapter art early, you'll never have to chance.
But, forget all that. Who's actually shown in the poster? Obviously, Damon, Jett, and Cassidy are, but I believe that Wenona's jacket and hair are shown to the left of Damon? If you squint, you can also make out what might be Ingrid's arm on his right. That would be consistent with where he's seated in the Class Trial. Yeah, and then that weird blob behind Wenona is actually Jean and Eva!
See what I mean? Well, if we have 7 characters on the poster, maybe it's not so suspicious for any of them after all :D
And, really, it's 8 characters. I imagine others have made this connection already (even if I haven't personally seen it), but... that's a chameleon wrapping its way around Damon. AKA, Diana's animal motif. That means that Diana is more or less on this poster as well!
As the literal framing device of the Class Trial, the chameleon makes this poster reek of Diana being the Chapter 1 killer. However, even that feels too obvious, at least to my highly-scrutinous eyes. Then again, if this was just supposed to communicate that Diana will be important, why not just put her on the poster...? I really don't know what to make of it.
And... yeah, December 20th! I'm super excited!!! While we're certainly not in a drought of in new and exciting fangans nowadays (read Danganronpa: One Shot here!), productions of this scale-- especially playable ones-- are few and far between, so I really hope that this first Chapter lives up to the hype. I'm pretty sure I'll have more to say about this fangan in a few weeks, so I'll see y'all then for Project: Eden's Garden's true beginning!
...
(Honestly, after all this time in the DRDT fandom, it's just crazy to me that we're going to learn about the victim and killer at basically the same time... (/lh))
#project eden's garden#p:eg#fanganronpa#damon maitsu#kai monteago#cassidy amber#jean delamer#eva tsunaka#i don't think i talked about anyone else in enough detail to warrant a tag#also i have seen various people bring up issues with this fangan (specifically the behavior of its crew) online#while i am highly sympathetic i don't currently feel like it's enough of a reason to boycott this project for me#however if seeing content of the game makes you uncomfortable please skip this post and/or block the tag! i don't want to upset anyone#and of course i'll assess more in the future if more issues arise (or if i learn of more damning evidence. i know basically nothing#about this drama other than that it exists. i hope the dev team can chill out tho. heard they were bashing other fangans :/)#my theories#anyways i'm excited to start my incredibly one-sided beef with Jean /j

no bc why arent we talking about how ndrv3 has so much potential, ESPECIALLY in their antagonists and plots?? Sure, they tried to do something with them with the emotion v logic and reality v fiction, but like... they're such large concepts that it's kind of hard to fit both of them into a plot, let alone a game.
[ndrv3 spoilers btw]
lets talk about emotion v logic bc i can split the foils up really nicely with this plot:
LOGIC: Rantaro, Kirumi, Angie, Kokichi, Maki, Kiibo, Shuich
EMOTION: Kaede, Ryoma, Tenko, Korekiyo, Gonta, Miu, Kaito, Himiko, Tsumugi, Shuichi
here, everyone has at least one (1) foil. Kaede has Rantaro, Kokichi has Gonta, Miu, and Kaito, the list goes on. With these characters being next to each other, they highlight their own stance while also showcasing the complexity of said stance (like how both Kaede and Rantaro and united in defeating the mastermind, but it was Kaede's worry of the time limit expiring that incentive her to set her plan into motion).
With emotion v logic, there isn't a clear line of 'good and bad' like hope v despair or future v past, both of these qualities are good in a person. v3 is really grey in it's messages, which makes it one of the best dr games in my opinion (i like to be ignorant to some of the.. other problems it has). It's not bad that you are emotional, but when your emotions cloud your judgement, that is bad. It's not bad that you are logical, but when your logic overweighs your autonomy, that's bad.
This by itself could be an entire game: how can we have a balance between compassion and cynicism? Trust v safety. Of course, that is the A plot for v3 and I think they handled it somewhat well. (of course, it could've done better if Angie wasn't killed, making Angie a foil to Shuichi instead of that role being put on Kokichi [who i find more so Kaito's foil], but a girl can only dream).
SPEAKING OF ANTAGONISTS, LETS TALK ABOUT REALITY V FICTION!! -- i'll also separate the characters, though this is a little more difficult to pin down.
REALITY: Rantaro, Ryoma, Kirumi, Kokichi, Shuichi, Kiibo, Maki
FICTION: Kaede, Tenko, Angie, Korekiyo, Miu, Gonta, Kaito, Himiko, Tsumugi
This, alike the emotion v logic, is grey. Reality hurts so finding comfort in fiction is bad-- however when your entire reality becomes fictional, something's awry. This is, unsurprisingly, shown in the last chapter the best: the world is crumbling away, the people are conscious, and the fiction someone is living in is peeling away to show the hideous reality. It's stated that the outside world is peaceful since they get their violent tendencies by voyeuristically watching danganronpa (which, no, that likely wouldn't happen.), so people are immersing themselves in fiction. IGNORING reality.
There are some implications to this B plot: Korekiyo talking about 'seeing his dead sister' which is not based in the reality that we know, Himiko talking about magic outside of magic tricks, and Tsumugi being more infatuated with cosplay than being herself. Meanwhile, Kiibo doesn't shy away from understanding that he's a robot (and actively tries to help), and Kokichi straight up makes a script for someone to mimic him once he dies to mess the game up.
and yet v3 is kind of... bad. The conclusion doesn't feel right, it doesn't feel like they worked for this, that's bc throughout the game, they were contesting against grey matters. There's no villain, there's no 'the worst, most tragic event in human history', just a company writing fiction. That's why I think people don't like this ending.
The game is like an essay that ends up no where without a firm foot hold because of the topics they chose to convey. They didn't exaggerate it enough (which is saying A LOT for the 'youre fictional' game), leading the a and b plots to fall flat.
Not only with their plots, mind you, but with their antagonists.
Kaede is perfectly written for plot a, kirumi is perfectly written for plot a, Korekiyo is (semi)perfectly written for plot a, gonta is perfectly written for plot a, kaito is perfectly written for plot a, but tsumugi is only written for plot b. She's forgotten by her creators just like how the audience forgets her.
Angie, Korekiyo, Kokichi, and Tsumugi are the main 'bad guys' for ndrv3-- but... are they?
Angie is a devote believer in her deity who has gotten everything handed to her, so of course she's going to be erratic in keeping everything under her control.
Korekiyo is a boy who's sister tragically died and is being TORTURED just to see her again, so of course he's mind is twisted with thoughts of sacrificing people to her.
Kokichi is a scared trickster who always manages to slide his way in and out of trouble, so of course he's going to hide his emotions and harm others so he can win.
And Tsumugi? She's trapped in a fictional world that she has no way of escaping, so of course she's going to be forgotten-- she isn't made for this world.
But, these characters are reduced to 'religious cult leader', 'serial incest killer', 'insane clown', and 'who?' This is another effect of having too many plots going on-- these characters aren't allowed their time to shine bc the plot is constantly throwing them around,
but idk, those are my thoughts. sorry for this being really scrambled I just have lots of feelings about ndrv3.
#ndrv3#ndrv3 spoilers#ndrv3 killing harmony#rambles#incoherent thoughts#tsumugi shirogane#gonta gokuhara#kokichi ouma#angie yonaga#korekiyo shinguji#kaede akamatsu#no bc listen#im a little insane but that goes well with my lore i guess#just give them grace v3 was rough of them#lunar's feelings about ndrv3 are never ending#guys do we think lunar is planning on making a v3 rewrite anytime soon?#boy i wish i could do that#all i can do is make aus that shows tsumugi being a product of someone else's creation instead of her having bodily autonomy

So I was thinking a lot about how the whole Ojima bleeding on the bed thing has become important again and have been thinking about what could be causing it so yeah.
Basically one of the things I’ve heard most discussed could be s h-ing while dissociating, as Ojima says he doesn’t know how the blood gets there. Which could be a thing I could see happening but I’m not sure how much to an extent it he could be injuring himself where he’s only been bleeding in the bed and not anywhere else so I’m not sure. And if he had any other major injury I feel Hiroaki would’ve noticed it.
Another thing I’ve heard suggested is potential nosebleeds or something like that but I feel like he’d definitely noticed that if he was bleeding from somewhere on the face.
Also the possibility of the slash wound from decision game opening up could be there, but it’s unlikely from the specific periods of time the bleeding occurred and that’s something he would’ve definitely noticed.
One thing I’ve been thinking about is that I feel like the blood is most likely coming from hemorrhaging or something internal rather than an external injury that would’ve been noticed perhaps. Like going back to the nosebleeds thing suggested from earlier. But once again I feel that could be easily noticed so the only other possibility on this path is that the blood is coming from… yknow. Which could make me think a possible illness or injury which could cause bleeding like that and not be noticed but I’m really not sure.
I’ve been wondering though is if Ojima has been experiencing this mysterious bleeding before the killing game in his outside life, which could have it possibly be a medical thing or a dissociation thing. And if it started in the killing game then who knows what’s happening. I personally don’t think so I don’t think it’s gonna be a Kaito situation from V3 again, so I’m not too worried in that regard.
Or he’s just a trans boy and he’s on his period (ignoring how the bleeding has taken course over the span of over a week idk maybe he has a messed up menstrual cycle he should go see a doctor) oh and this is the realest and truest option
#tetro danganronpa pink#tetro danganronpa#tetro danganronpa spoilers#tetro danganronpa pink spoilers#Ojima takeshi#yeah ik I’m constantly rambling about Ojima no I will not stop#but also wanna hear you guys thoughts on this as this is interesting to me what could be happening#tw s3lf harm mention

Hi! Before I ask anything, I just wanted to tell you that I love your writing! I binged all your DR fics + went through (all) your masterlists hehe. I really like the way you write the characters, their relationships etc. I've been in a writing slump for so long that reading your blog made me want to open my laptop again.
If you don't mind, on your last post. Can you elaborate on Despair Shuichi 👀👀 In my head, instead of the anxious, pragmatic guy that he is– He's just a despair gremlin 😭😭 Like causing chaos through spreading misinformation and stuff. (plus I wonder how Makoto reacts to that cute, shy kouhai he remembered now being all bold now)
(Thanks so much!! It's always super reassuring to get compliments like that, lol.)
Okay, so you're already correct that his area would be misinformation, at least at first. (Incidentally, that is also true for Kyoko in the Despair's Throbbing Heart universe.) Towards the beginning of the despairening, Shuichi's role was to expose a strategic combination of real secrets and fake ones. So like, a high-profile murder happens, and Shuichi solves it without even being asked, revealing that the murderer was also very high-profile (ideally a politician). He nudges private scandals into the public eye. Private projects. And based on the legitimacy he gains from doing those things, he can suddenly say pretty much whatever divisive lies he wants, and people will believe him en masse before anyone with the mind to question it even gets a hand on the ball.
(Since this AU takes place after the V3 class have been Class 79, this suggests something must have gone down between Shuichi and Kyoko. After all, my Class 79 arrangement has him as Ultimate Detective's Assistant, and the Ultimate Detective's Assistant works with the Ultimate Detective, at least in theory. One assumes Class 78 is despair in this AU, since the initial ask about the V3 cast as despair was a follow-up to a Both Classes Despair AU post, so maybe Despair Kyoko and Despair Shuichi were confusing the masses by being at odds. They've both gained legitimacy by being frequently right, but then suddenly they start disagreeing. Very publicly and loudly. Sometimes Shuichi is lying and Kyoko isn't, sometimes it's the opposite, sometimes they're both lying, and sometimes they're both telling the truth in different ways. It makes people want to take a side, but picking either one will mean being misled most of the time.)
This role for them is only useful before the world powers collapse. Once everyone is kind of languishing in rubble anyway, there's no real point to spreading misinformation, or at least not as carefully as they were doing it. Flyers and wall graffiti are the main medium for lies at that point, and that's kind of not their area.
At that point, they're both more like spies, using their investigative skills to gain intel on resistance efforts.
Personality-wise, he's kind of the inverse of Despair Kokichi, in that Despair Kokichi presents as really high-energy in front of people and then is actually really somber and dull in private. Despair Shuichi does everything to come across as mopey and ignorable, but when by himself or among people who know him personally (his classmates, or Makoto), he reveals himself to be having a lot of fun.
For some length of time, he definitely toured with Kaede while she played music for people, because being her unassuming tagalong gave him access to large gatherings, where he could sneak around and overhear secrets and just generally notice things about people. Kaede plays one of her post-apocalypse concerts, and Shuichi slips away into the crowd and then returns to her afterward like, "There's a group of 'rebuilders' working out of the sewers. They've been storing up weapons down there, planning take the territory back from Owada in a few months."
"Sounds flammable," Kaede muses, and Shuichi grins.
"Definitely flammable."
(Unrelated, but Kaede loves piano so much, she definitely has to play wrong notes in order to get despair out of it. Like, if she played a song correctly and to completion, it would fill her with hope, so she has to make sure to play discordant notes periodically throughout, to remind herself that the idiots she's playing for don't notice or care, because nothing means anything.)
The relationship between Despair 79th Class and Despair 78th Class is more fond than the kind of frenemy relationship between the 78th and 77th, so Kaede and Sayaka might have done concerts together a few times. Assuming Makoto was with Sayaka during some or all of those times, he and Shuichi spent some time together, backstage.
"You look great," Shuichi says, his perceptive gaze sweeping over Makoto from head to toe and back. He still uses the bill of his cap to try to hide his looking, but he's not doing it now. "Looks like Maizono is...keeping you in comfort."
Makoto pulls self-consciously at the clothes Sayaka got for him. They're kind of gaudy and expensive, compared to what he's used to. "Uh, yeah. She is."
"Good," Shuichi laughs. "If she weren't, I'd ask Kaede to choke her out with her piano wire."
Makoto is unable to hide how his stomach drops, how his eyes widen. He heard, through other people, that their kouhais changed just like his classmates, just like their senpais, but...this is his first time meeting Shuichi after the biggest, most horrible, most tragic event. His first time hearing him make light of something so violent and laugh about it, with a carefree smile as if everything that happened, everything he's done, were nothing to him.
"Oh, s-sorry," Shuichi stammers, still smiling but now visibly nervous. "I forgot, you're still...so innocent."
A chill creeps up Makoto's spine, and he can't meet Shuichi's eyes anymore. It's not disgust; it's just so disheartening. He needs a minute to adjust. "I wouldn't call it innocence," he replies. "I just don't think any of this is right. Do you?"
Shuichi sidles closer. "Sometimes it takes an extreme calamity to give the world a chance to recover. Think about what would have happened if we'd allowed things to continue the way they were. All of the secret projects Kirigiri and I unearthed. Even thinking as small as Hope's Peak, they were never going to stop at just one Kamukura! They would have done it to as many people as they could get away with. We found a list, you know. A list of potential candidates, ones they were considering to be their second Kamukura..."
"I don't...know whether you're lying," Makoto says.
Shuichi lets out a laugh. A genuine one, and slightly grim. "I guess you don't. You weren't with us when we found it."
"The harm we do to people now isn't better than the harm they were doing to people then. Even if the school and the...the ones in power...The fact that they were hurting people doesn't mean we get to destroy everything. We're just hurting more of the same people who were getting hurt before!"
"Why do you always say 'we'?" Shuichi asks, tilting his head.
"If the point is to help people, then we should be helping them."
"I didn't mean to make you mad."
...Makoto sighs, at the sight of Shuichi's pouting face, his cap partially hiding his eyes. He places a hand on Shuichi's arm. "I know you're better than this. I know you. That's why..."
Shuichi lifts his head, but his eyes aren't meeting Makoto's eyes. They're on his neck instead. His fingers gingerly trail over the marks left by the collar Sayaka sometimes makes him wear (whether it's bruising or just a tan line). And he smiles. "You don't have to try so hard to hide that, you know. I-I think it's cute."
The concert starts, and Makoto slips away to give food and whatever else he can to those stranded out on the streets. And he does his best not to notice Shuichi tailing him the whole time.

Hello! Stumbled upon this lovely little blog of yours so I decided to stop by and request, could I have a few reader x Korekiyo headcannons? Ideally gender neutral if possible? :3 (love that man,,,) (also let me know if this is too vague, I don’t give requests often so I kept it simple ^^,)
Either way have a lovely day! <3
Oh wow I actually just saw this today and I didn't really expect anyone to like ACTUALLY see it and request so you can imagine the fair amount of surprise I got from seeing this (/pos tho) I had to read up on Korekiyo while writing this as I truthfully don't know much about V3 and it's characters so keep in mind that I will most likely be AT LEAST a little OOC hah ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
(Divider by firefly-graphics on Tumblr)
Being the partner of Korekiyo Shinguji
At first Korekiyo didn't realize the feelings he had were romantic ones, thinking it was just him admiring your own beauty even more than others which he didn't deem as that irregular
He just liked your own presence than others and didn't think much of it
Though he did act a lot more passionate in speaking when you were the topic, weirdly enough
Also seemed to know a lot more about you than you seemed to tell people (Is he studying you too much? Are you the one telling this info to him? Nobody knows..)
Probably a lot of the people around him and you noticed this and connected the dots
Some even mentioned it to him subtly, which he ignored a bit
Well until it became too much (obvious) and at last he picks it up
He stressed a bit over it due to his.. sister
Though over time he did get more relaxed with the topic of his attraction to you
(A/N: Skipping over the whole confession, not doing that today I'm sorry 😭)
He views you as the most beautiful even with every little flaw you have
He already thought everyone was beautiful even before you but you so much more so
He sometimes ask you out to.. people-watching / studying
It's weird but he enjoys it so he thought you would too
When you're around, all his attention is usually focused upon you
He's not the most affectionate outwardly honestly
He does mostly make it up with little but lovely gestures
His mask stays on still though, he's obsessed with wearing it and it's going to take a LONG WHILE to get him to stop-..

reminding myself that i should be posting the Ideas i have in my head no matter how cringe they are. social anxiety healing or whatever idk i'll probably (hopefully) forget abt this post in 20 minutes anyways heres my warrior cats x danganronpa au i have growingly extensive lore for it
the shuichi and his uncle collection

Birchwhisker would be his uncle in this. Brightfeather is his mom. Shuichi himself, his name is Olivepaw (the v3's are all 'paws)
the yellow cat in the back is an oc of mine named daypelt btw, shes a really old warriors oc dating back to like... 2019 at the very least? not sure. she aint a dr character ignore her
the cat saiouma

Kokichi, otherwise known as Spotpaw, started as a rogue in a funney little rogue group. can't imagine who they'd be. He joins the clan cus he's interested in their life and also maybe DICE is like slaughtered idk im still figuring that one out. buuuut!! he does join the clan and as you can imagine it goes. great

kaito and kokichi rivarly persists. at first he's wary cus Spotpaw's an outsider, but eventually theyre only fighting just cus he doesnt fucking like Spotpaw LMAO (´▽`*)
His name is Nightpaw btw. His grandparents are elders in the clan. They tell funny stories to the children and Nightpaw tells them facts about the sky and he never shuts the fuck up about how their warrior ancestors inhabit the stars. at the same time he is also freaked out of the idea of the medicine cats (hiii mikan!!) being visited by the ghosts of fallen warriors (´- `*)
and finally

Shuichi and Tsumugi. Had to get a little strange with the family lines because... warrior cats... but basically Olivekit and Threadkit were raised together as siblings. Unfortunately! Junko is very present! Under the name of Goldenclaw. Mukuro is here too btw her name is Blackstrike. I'd share their designs but i hit my 10 photo limit on mobile and im not getting on my computer for this. oh yeah abyway uhhh Threadkit is kind of Goldenclaw's kit?? Goldenclaw probably found her in a ditch somewhere and went "oh yeah i can make a legacy out of this". She makes her sister raise Threadkit under the guise that shes her biological kit, and because of that, Birchwhisker goes to her for help to raise Olivekit. blackstrike is not happy about this
It all starts out as one big clan run by Jin, who has...yet to be Warrior named. And for a while, they're the ONLY clan. Buuuut.... Junko is here. The SDR2 cast are here. it does not stay peaceful
I won't type it all out since I'm still figuring it out and also I want to post this before I back out from nervousness but basically, Junko-- Goldenclaw,, yeah she's feeling a liiittle rebellious. Despair rises. Civil war within the clan begins, and eventually, Goldenclaw and her (very brainwashed and manipulated) group split off from the clan to start their own. and then they go to war (((・・;) typical warrior cats stuff
Eventually the conflict ceases as Makoto takes leadership of the clan as Luckystar. And I think, in this world, this is how the 9 lives ceremony woukd start-- some of the cats killed under Goldenclaw's tyranny come back to revive him with 9 extra lives to defeat her. They discover some sorta moonstone/moonpool (i prefer the stone lowkey) during this story. the drama. thats the best part about warriors. the DRAMA.
ok that's all i think i got it out of my system. maybe i'll come back to this maybe i won't i dunno,, i have a bad habit of having an idea and then forgetting it a day later (;ω;) so. you guys get danganronpa battle cats instead of anything... normal. whoopsies

I keep seeing fanfic with unserious wish-fulfilly takes on this (not that there's anything wrong with being unserious and wish-fulfilly in fanfiction, but) so I was wondering your take: what do you think would happen re: the overarching plot, the slow pieces moving, the long-term ozlem war, etc. if the Fall of Beacon was averted? Say, Amber survives, Pyrrha survives, Cinder gets her ass beat without Ruby going unconscious, Adam gets his ass beat, Neo, Mercury & Emerald are apprehended in such a way that they are no longer active threats, Beacon is fine, etc. The whole thing. Everyone wins and everyone's happy and the bad guys lose yay.
Whenever I see this in fanfic it tends to really only stretch to v3 narratively as well, and thus any and all plot elements introduced after that are assumed to just not exist, even if they were already there beforehand (like Salem). So say all of that did happen, how do you think the plot would actually go from there? I think it'd be a kind of interesting line to follow.
nobody who writes this kind of ‘v3 good ending’ au engages whatsoever with the fact that ozpin would have been publicly disgraced and removed from his seat of power as headmaster of beacon in the aftermath of a terroristic attack on the vytal tournament and if you’re not interested in that what even is the point.
everybody wins hooray!! except the narrative status quo is shattered nonetheless because ozpin is an international pariah for sitting on his hands and doing nothing for months while ignoring clear danger signs and increasingly urgent warnings from his own advisors and allies, and how likely is it really that the valean council would put his deputy in the head office after she stood by him and backed his decisions without question for all that time?
what i’m getting at here is, beacon’s new head is someone outside the inner circle who doesn’t know anything about salem or the shadow war, whom the council brings in to clean up ozpin’s mess, and that person is going to find a comatose young woman on life support in a machine meant to tear out her soul in the basement of what is supposed to be a college training the noble defenders of the world. what the fuck. WHAT THE FUCK.
the news breaks and warrants go out for ozpin’s immediate arrest and he just fucking vanishes. pyrrha comes forward to disclose everything she was told by ozpin and his inner circle and when they tried to coerce her into becoming a vessel for this woman’s soul and the scandal spreads to atlas. how deep does this conspiracy go? how far does the rot spread? what does ironwood DO if the atlas council tries to force him out, knowing what the stakes are? how do teams RWBY & JNPR react to the discovery that their headmaster was involved in some sort of—shadowy soul-trafficking conspiracy preparing the world for a secret war? how do ruby and yang make sense of their uncle being a part of this?
think about what ozpin’s secrets look like to the world without the context of salem and the relics and the divine ultimatum hanging over remnant’s neck. now think about those revelations coming out in the aftermath of cinder’s attack on the vytal festival, and more specifically that speech she made pointing the finger at ozpin and ironwood as secretive dictators pulling strings behind the scenes. salem planned this very carefully. there is no possible outcome that does not violently explode ozpin’s grip on the world.
alternate universe where the kids get inadvertently swept up on salem’s side of the conflict after the failed attack on beacon disgraces ozpin, and ozpin’s inner circle are reviled fugitives desperately racing to avert catastrophe while the kids try to unravel what the fuck is going on.

i really am cursed when it comes to headsets, i treat them with the outmost care and reverence and yet they either dont work, break incredibly fast or are unusable for me
theres been many before but in the last like few years, after my first HyperX Cloud ..2 (i think, but wired, i only use wired ones) one that lasted for years (for once) started to peel off even on the headband (i switched the ones on the ears once) and was just very very used, i bought another one from them (version Alpha something i think) which ... one of its earphone part thignies stopped producing sound just after the warranty ran out (and i dont want to buy a HyperX again bc itss part of HP and they support israhell if i remember right)
then i bought a Razer Kraken v3, it makes high pitched background sounds i can hear (but most dont) and could not ignore, and had a too short cable as well
then i bought a Teufel Zola, which is the one im still using right now .. bc i works, HOWEVER the material on the ear parts is impossible to clean and its already pretty dirty, the headband thingy started to fall apart like a week into use, and its cable was too short as well (got a USB extension just for it though ..), but i have kept it bc its the only usable one i had (and i need at least ONE for work)-
now my lil brothers BF recommended a Logitech G432 and bought it for me for christmas, send it to me and i didnt open it until then bc it was meant as a gift (and the basic return thing is 14 days isnt it? idk... ... i hate returning stuff)- the REAL kicker though is, that when i opened it ... it was clearly already open before, the stickers were cut, def some paper missing, the thing wasnt in its plastic bag and there were minor scratches on it, it was probably returned and, for some reason, sold as a new one again- and i assume the reason it was returned was bc, while both ear parts TECHNICALLY work, the left is like .. barely hearable, so, another one for the pile
at this point im gonna look into just getting headphones and a mic seperately (i am listening to recommendations .......... im so tired of this circus and wasting so much money) though i dont have the space for a mic that has to stand on its own or one of those expensive arm things (i dont need it that often either)
#ganondoodles talks#personal#i feel like i have been falling for the gaming tm chair scam over and over#like no matter how much i try to check what i buy i always keep doing the wrong thing#and i liked headsets bc having both sound and decent mic in one is pretty handy#but either theres no usable ones anymore or i am just literally cursed#and these things are so expensive!!#i cant keep spending like almost a hundred bucks on these stupid things!!!
