OK SO THAT'S THAT

I don't have anything else storyboarded right now, I have the dialogues for Act 3 written down, but for the 2nd Act I'm gonna have to rewatch parts of WCI. I'm also thinking of a different approach, more like a series of illustrations not a comic, but idk yet, I'll have to rewatch and see!

It's not like I'm actually using a 3 Act structure as in 'a method of writing a story', I don't know how to and I haven't tried learning that (YET). I just think its neat and reflects how I divided my artistic process. I've always seen this story in my head as 3 parts.

And before I delve into part 06, I can't stop myself from saying that....... part 05 really needed another closeup on Sanji's face. If I ever try and repost it to another site then maybe I'll add it (between the panels of Ichiji & Zoro and the closeup on the spear, it would help the rythym but also strengthen the emotional connection, before Sanji shuts himself off)

Anyhow part 06

Most panels were a breeze, but the last two, my god, I just couldn't get them right for the longest time. In the end my favourite panels are the closeups of Luffy and Nami, I should really draw them more.

Here's how this panel in particular went:

I did like how the pose was looking in my first rough pass, the face is scrunched, the shoulders are high with tension, the direction is consistent

Couldn't execute it though... I think in the first rough sketch the camera is looking at Luffy slightly from above? Like he's leaning into it. That's why the shoulders can be so high up, but I didn't realize what it was when trying to clean it. So when cleaning the sketch I drew the head on the same level as the camera which made the whole pose look flat, also in this weird angle, like it's not fully 3/4, but it's not facing forwards either.

I didn't know what wasn't working, so I doubled down and tried with the lineart, but it didn't magically help. It just looks like he's slouching.

4. so I tried to rethink the pose and commit to a 3/4 view. I like that more of the neck is visible now, you can feel that he's leaning forward with the scream, but I think I could have pushed it a bit more still

5. with linework I made some small changes, like a bit shorter hair, smaller nose and the eyes pushed back a bit. I also added the scratches and filled in the black parts

6. added flat colors & shading!

Last panel with Sanji was even harder to draw hehe

so I thought this would be easy bcs I wanted to basically redraw the panel from the anime

that's why my rough sketch was extremely rough, I didn't think about it much

and then I had so much trouble with it lmao You'd think that it would be easier when you're covering the character's face, but I was in this undecided space of on one hand wanting to show the pain on Sanji's face and staying truthful to the anime scene on the other. I also found it super diffucult to show the emotions without the eyes

4. The pose in 3. also wasn't working so I tried to make him more slouched, like he's curling in on himself more, it was definitely a better direction. I tried going into lineart from here but I didn't like how the fingers were turning out

5. So I decided to get a new ref and took a picture of how I'd make this gesture myself. With this pose I also changed the position and angle of the face slightly, bcs it would have created a very small space between the hand and the nose and I wanted the two shapes to connect

6. I really liked the hand, but was having trouble with the hair, it felt too short, still couldn't get the face right either

7. so I elongated the hair and worked on the face some more and was finally happy with what I had!

8. added colors! At first I had it colored like the other panels, color just on Sanji then gradient on the bottom helping it fade to black, but it wasn't sitting well with me. Maybe because the space above his head was too big and I didn't want to have a background here and also wasn't adding the little floating pieces to the carriage scene (these were reserved for the grass battlefield)

9. SO! I made Sanji's figure darker and also added a darker shade to the whole scene and I think it ended up working really nice. Like he's drowning in the darkness, the only element piercing through it are Luffy's words. It also just fills up the space better lmao, feels less empty visually

Its gonna be A WHILE, before I have updates for this, I'm gonna have to start with the rewatch anyway. Right now I'm gonna have to focus on finishing my extra pieces for the @rdtriozine !! If any of you read this far you may as well check it out lmao I have a full illustration spread there and gonna have spots for a fic too ❤️ I just need to draw them!!! AGHHHH

Junior Thesis

some stuff I worked on for my junior thesis project earlier this year. Ill share the full finished comic later on but for now enjoy these character designs and such 🫶

the watercolor version of the cover looked too much like bradley james when that was like, not the point of the assignment, which is why the finished digital version looks so much different. I still prefer the original watercolor version but i tend to always favour my watercolor versions of things

In depth explanation below cut

the junior thesis assignment was the adapt a book into a six page comic and we could have creative freedom with certain things and the book only ever mentioned the color of guenever's hair and eyes, NOT her skin color or features and so I had my fun with her design. the ONLY description they give lancelot in the entire book is that hes ugly and beauty is subjective so i gave him "non traditional" features. In one of my original sketches for him, he was going to have crooked teeth, but unfortunately i do not draw teeth well LMAO. I wanted Arthur and Lancelot's designs to contrast each other as well. Arthur is shorter and stockier where Lance is taller and thinner, Arthur keeps his feelings quiet while Lance wears them on his chest, and then i wanted there to be the stark color difference too between them.

Morgause and Mordred were fun, but they both had a lot more descriptive descriptions in the book, so I didn't get as much creative control outside of their outfits. I assigned the Lot family the color blue and the Camelot cotizens red to try and contrast better throughout the story and it was kinda fun cause it made mordred look like an ice prince or something.

also despite gwen lance and arthur being around the same age at the point of my comic, i wanted to try and make arthur look the oldest, sort of visually show how much being king and his decisions has weighed on him, especially since the scene I adapted was pretty heavy.

also i did have a reference page for gwen but at some point it got deleted? so in this its just a fun drawing I did of her holding excalibur instead. I do also have a full reference drawing for exacalibur in my files that was useless because i never ended up drawing it in the comic LMAO

the last photo is the cornwall sisters, Elaine, Morgan and Morgause. With their designs i had fun trying to make them look related to each other, to Arthur and their parents but also try to not make them all have the same face. Elaine looks like her mother, Morgan looks like her father, Morgause looks like a mix of both (Uthers hair color but Ygraine's hair style, Uther's face but Ygraine's eye color) and Arthur looks like a perfect blend of both too. I sort of did the same with Mordred where I took features from both morgause and arthur to make him look related but like his own person. Ygraine and Uther are only in one panel so there's no proper ref for either of them.

This project was a five month process, six if you count writing the script to fit within a six page comic without losing any details from the book and creating my pitch for my professor (all of which was done over winter break)

The project took FOREVER and I definitely am not happy with the final result but its due to the fact i had frequent doctor visits and hospitalisations and wasnt able to work on it as much as I had wanted, PLUS i had an eight page comic for another class i worked on also over the same five months (and i was more focused on that one as it was my own original characters)4

regardless though, i do still like it, just wish it cane out better in the end lmao

Crime and Punishment Warrior Cats AU

Okay, so for organizational purposes, I'm going to make a list of characters I'm going to keep in the AU, then a list of characters I'm not keeping and why. Obviously, when translating this story into the warrior cats universe, there are going to be things that just don't fit. (btw ✅ means I've finished their ref sheet and successfully turned them into a kitty cat.)

Raskolinikov ✅

Pulkheria Alexandrovna

Avdotya Romanovna (despite her and her mother living in a different place than Raskolnikov, I'm going to omit that from this AU, since they end up coming to St. Petersburg anyways, and warrior cats characters basically stay in the same place for their whole lives.)

Razumikhin ✅

Alena Ivanovna (Moneylenders don't exist in warriors so I'll need to figure out a different reason for why Raskolnikov would have been doing business with her and for why Porfiry Petrovich originally began to suspect Raskolnikov.)

Marmeladov (I think I'm gonna make it so he ran away from the clan, like how Marmeladov in the book ran away from his family?)

Katerina Ivanovna

Polya, Lenya, and Kolya (they will be kits and the same age. No way a cat had three separate single babies loll)

Svidrigaylov (He will be from another Clan. I need to figure out how and why he would come to the clan Raskolnikov lives in, and how Dunya could have gone to live with him. Maybe by bending the Warrior Code in my universe to make it more common for cats to move clans like how people irl can move cities...? Idk yet)

Marfa Petrovna

Peter Petrovich (same deal with Svidrigaylov; he will be from a different clan)

Lebezyatnikov (tbh he only stays because he was important for one scene LMAO)

Zosimov (He will be the medicine cat, obviously :3)

Porfiry Petrovich (He will be the clan deputy; I want him to hold some power in the clan, but not enough that he'd be able to exile Raskolnikov without having to prove he was the murderer. I still dk who the clan leader will be...)

Nikolay and Dmitri (will just be regular warriors that just so happened to see Raskolnikov at the crime scene.)

The rest of the characters I add will just be NPCs to fill out the clan. Maybe I'll base some of their personalities on the characters I left out. The left out characters are:

Raskolnikov's landlady (whose name I wouldn't even remember if it weren't listed at the end of the book) and Nastasya. As much as I liked Nastasya, there's no real reason to keep the landlady character in the AU at all, since landladies don't exist in Warriors. Like I said above, I may keep Nastasya as a background character, maybe just some concerned cat who comes to check in on Raskolnikov from time to time. Though I can't really think of a reason for why she would do that unless it were her job.

Natalia Egorevna. The only purpose she served in the book was that Raskolnikov was going to marry her in exchange for living in Zarnitsyna's apartment or whatever it's called. Dostoevsky had his reasons for including this, I'm sure, but I don't see it as all that important and it just doesn't make sense for Warriors. RIP.

Amalia Ivanovna. Another landlady. Again, I might keep her as a background character, but the only role she'd fill is stirring up trouble at Marmeladov's vigil and pissing off Katerina Ivanovna so bad she loses it.

Kapernaumov. He literally doesn't even speak once in the book. Does anyone care that I'm not including him?

Zametov, Nikodim Fomich, and Ilya Petrovich. They can all be condensed into one character, which is Porfiry. All the police station scenes can be changed so that it was Porfiry he was talking to instead. They serve their purpose in the book so that Porfiry would be suspicious of Raskolnikov without them having to meet face-to-face yet, but I can change things around to fix that. Maybe Raskolnikov goes to see the leader instead, and the leader wouldn't be suspicious but Porfiry is. Or I can just say the part where Raskolnikov meets him for the first time in the book isn't the first time in the AU, because why would Raskolnikov not know the clan deputy, at least as acquaintances?

OK rambling over! If no one reads this but me, that's fine, as I'm mainly keeping this so that I know who to make ref sheets for. Esp since I'm going to have to return my copy of Crime and Punishment to the library soon LOL. If anyone has suggestions for names or ways I can change characters and events to fit better into the Warriors universe, please tell me! :D

So, Damen is a thirst trap King and I just feel like he would send photos over just randomly like here look at my perfect abs and the outline of my perfect dick in these joggers. Laurent’s photos are much less explicit when he’s alone but I did have a scene where they bang in front of a mirror and Damen “shows him the back view” so to speak but that didn't make it in

I think of it as more of a gateway to: one day we’ll film a lot of the sex we have and watch it back to have more sex… but Laurent’s not quite there yet.

So I do feel like the blow job video is one of the only videos he really has apart from the would-be mirror scene lmao

Fun fact that’s not very fun: the filmed blow job was originally the beginning of chapter 6 but I cut a bunch of stuff including an Ancel scene/dialogue and went straight to the party instead. In hind sight this was not a good idea because I cut too much and the refs disappeared LMAO but ah well, that’s what you get for writing on the fly and for taking a year long break. Shit happens!

I want to see them happy too! I do want to do an epilogue but i might make it part 2 rather than chapter 10 if that makes sense. I know epilogue's aren't for everyone! 💕

hi, and yeah, it’s more than okay! when i was writing ‘by design’ i was called this by a reader and fellow author, so i kind of gentle of this nickname now, haha.

now, about your question….it doesn’t read as rude or combative to me at all! i don’t get irked, when i’ve asked about stuff that i don’t like or not into. but in turn, i have to warn that i do prefer to be honest about my opinion, and while i don’t hate dylan/ryan ship, i think that people who really love it might find my words kinda downing. my opinions are whimsical and fully based on my own pref and tastes, and what i look for in fiction, so i’d just ask people to view it as this. just me speaking for myself, from my own tower. 

*waves a hand* but let’s begin. so ah, dylan/ryan. it’s true, that i indeed don’t have any particularly strong feelings about them as a ship. or about dylan. i don’t hate him as a character, i just don’t care about him lol. surprisingly enough, i didn’t actively distaste anyone in the quarry. and it’s smth, bc supermassive does tend to create/write at least one character, who pisses me off in their games. either way, dylan wasn’t that. he was fine. i just didn’t find him interesting or compelling, or felt like ryan had some insane connection to him. 

i look back at all the interactions, that dylan had with ryan, and it’s very generic to me. the game trying to force them into ‘romance’ only made everything worse and feel scripted, rather than coming off natural. i mean, what ryan and dylan have narrative wise, first of all? 1) they talk inside mister h’s office, and it all while they lie out plot points for us, and dylan also makes a comment about ryan always going through chris’s things. so technically speaking, he makes sexual comment about a guy, who he likes with another man. like, if he’s into it okay lol. but it was a bit strange. 2) they might have a kiss, that was basically not happening out of free will. it happened bc of a truth/dare game and not bc either of them decided to do it, while they had some meaningful moment together. more so, i find it almost funny how if ryan picks truth, emma asks about him and mister h. so even the girl, who ‘shipped’ those two or smth, was actually curious about (once again) ryan and another man lmao. you are beginning to see the pattern here too, i believe. 3) the cut off hand scene, that was just….not super impactful, despite it supposed to be tense in an emotional sense vs just a tense gameplay. but it’s not. in fact, i often think, that if the quarry pulled a john & andrew there, aka ryan would have been stuck with his camp leader during the night (and chris wasn’t a werewolf), and they run into the same situation with cutting off hand or not, it would have been so good, y’know? no matter whose hand would have been at stake, it would have been so much more loaded and hard for them to decide what to do, even from non-shipping point. like, how can you intentionally harm someone even if they ask you to, when you feel responsible for them (chris) or when you admire them and they are the most important adult figure in your life (ryan)? cutting off dylan’s hand was traumatising for both dylan and ryan, don’t get me wrong. but it was missing a heavy key-emotional aspect in it. for me, it’s always gonna be more of an evil dead ref, than anything else. i love my gore to be meaningful in one sense or another. which brings me to the following point…. 

nothing really happens after that. at all. there wasn’t any tension or uncertainty. and okay, maybe they didn’t want to take the route, where dylan would look at ryan oddly, bc he finally realised that he doesn’t even really know the dude at all. but then, nothing in the game led me to believe, like dylan or ryan would be attached to each other to the point, where they both would be able to ‘overlook’ this moment in future, either. so yeah, it only proves, that there was no aftermath, and it was kinda a meaningless scene in terms of the ship, and what a waste! i watched du’met killing charlie 4 separate times, and each time, it was ofhduhgi great, amazing, i could see a personal touch there. and those two weren’t even officially speaking, written as a couple. then, there is dylan who doesn’t even question things and ryan, who have no time to question if he’s fucked up for doing it or not, bc he has other things (mister h) on his mind. and the thing is, that i legit wished that the game would at least make dylan and ryan’s interactions entertaining for me, even if i wouldn’t have shipped them together. like until dawn threw me a bone in chris/ashley segments. i do not ship those two at all, but i loved how the gameplay actually forces you to deal with consequences if chris will pick to shoot ashley or pick josh and not her. at least, they made it interesting and gave a bit different angle to both characters and their possibly not all that deep relationships lol. ashley pettily watching chris to be torn apart spoke volumes about how he might have not been the guy, she thought he was. dylan and ryan don’t get even a bit of this. 

next bit be that dylan is a boring character to me, even outside the ship. i cannot think of anything, that would personally interest me, if i had to put him and ryan into a ‘romantic’ set-up. him being prone to panic in extreme situations or insecure doesn’t pull anything in me. it’s very mundane things. and it’s not like i haven’t ever shipped an aloof/emotionally stunted/mental character with basically a ‘normie’. one of such examples be the nite own/rorschach (watchmen). and here is the thing, i don’t like dan lol. he piss me off on a few occasions, and i generally don’t vibe with his character at all. i look at him and see an average joe, who chased after a woman, who usually wouldn’t even glance his way, unless she had some turmoil happening in her life. i see a person, who put on a costume, but couldn’t ever actually commit to all the pain and suffering, that would come along with it, just so that he could do the ‘right thing’. but it didn’t change the fact, that i did like how he had affection for rorschach and how rorschach essentially only ever liked dan in return. even if nite owl was plain for me, he clearly wasn’t for rorschach, who was hilariously delusional about him (along with other things). and i also always saw a chance of dan getting ‘corrupted’ into rorschach's ways of living, which would in return traumatise him and ‘isolate’ him, and make him ‘perfect’ for his fucked up partner. in the end, dan was a simp lol. He wasn’t simp just for laurie, but for rorschach as well, so there was always hope lol. and it’s smth that i cannot see in dylan and ryan’s case at all, bc i don’t think that ryan would care that deeply about some guy to go and try to chase after him. or that dylan would be simping for ryan so hard, that he will be able to shrug off his cool deminear and flat affected reactions. inside my head, they just do not work at all. if you look at all of my multi-chapter fics, that i ever wrote, for whatever pairs, there is a common theme of smth being ‘not quite right there’. i don’t ship someone who is normal and who does normal things, and who doesn’t have some huge ‘flaws’ or clear problems or red flags, that would affect their relationships and who can form a very specific bond only with that other specific person. i wouldn’t have bothered with dan/rorschach, if i didn’t feel like dan’s crush on laurie can be made meaningless and unimportant in the end of the day, bc he would pick rorschach and just be with him, even if he now kills people…. 

in that sense, dylan for me is what max is for travis/laura shippers. a cuck lol. and trust me, i don’t want or have intentions of diminishing the dude in my fics or hcs. as i said, i don’t think that him having a crush on ryan was bad or that he was having said crush due to a very 20 smth worldview is smth to be frowned upon. like in a way, it legit sucks to be dylan or max in a situation, where your cool eyepatch gf or sofrcore metalic bf would rather fuck some redneck grandpa, than you lol. to summarise it, i’m a guy, who watches ‘phantom of the opera’ and thinks, that i would love to dropkick paul from a rooftop, bc i just don’t need him there lol. i wanted christine to get isolated and corrupted, and disappear with her ‘angel of music’. i’m a dude, who watched dracula and wanted mina gone forever, bc dracula and john were so much more sexy to look at. i’m someone who wished, that ichabod crane would have been abducted in a sleepy hallow movie, like he was in the book. i love it, when it’s complicated and maybe even, ‘bad’ or downright scary to want that thing, but if you are ready to go after it, stay with it, this means that in the end you want it more, than anything else. it’s fiction and i love my fiction to be extreme, be it emotional extreme or smth else. so yeah. ships like dylan/ryan, chris/ashley or idk, erin/jamie weren't made for me, and that’s okay. bc chris/ryan and du’met/charlie is what was made to a t, almost as if to tailor my own fascinations, and i don’t care that canon doesn’t spell it out for me, that they’re destined lovers. in my head, and in my understanding they are. and that's the fun of shipping, really. to just indulge yourself in what you see as crucial for a dynamic to work. 

*looks up at the wall of text above* well, uh yeah. i guess it’s all that i say here. like about the ship and dylan on his own. i always compare preferences in fiction (characters, ships, media) to food, bc i feel like it just drives the point across. i’m a very picky eater irl (some textures, tastes would make me gag and i just won’t be able to stomach the said food), and i’m like that with what i ship too. it doesn't objectively make smth amazing and the best there to be, it just makes those things tasty and great for me, subjectively. and i do hope, that one day, internet would just take a chill pill on that matter, and there be less ‘call outs’ about shipping this or that, or someone getting aggressive just cuz someone else doesn’t like their ship and not even in a rude way. 

and thank you for asking me this, i do think that it’s important to know why you don’t like smth or just don’t care about it and love that other things instead. it really helps to not fall into ‘trending’ and ending up doing smth that you most likely won’t enjoy at all. spent your time only on stuff, that really ‘speaks’ to you.

If you don't mind asking, what was the longest time you ever spend in a drawing? -🦂

Oh jeez, I think it must be this one commission I did for a friend that took me like 19-20 hours (painted background, detailed shading, all that jazz). But it's very possible that it's actually a different commission for the same friend that was all painting, but unfortunately, I don't have the raw file anymore to check the time. But I think it'd also be around 20 hours

These are the extremes though, most of my fully finished artworks take around 3-7 hours to complete, depending on the polish and the detail. The longest I took on a non-painting drawing is 9 hours, and it's this one

Didn't even do the background, lol, it's just an edited photo I took. I fully blame the jacket for that time

If we're counting other art projects, my Brutus animatic, Poplar St MAP part, She Wants Me (To Be Loved) MAP part and Spiral of Ants MAP part 22 triumph over anything else. I can't give you the exact numbers but I can make an estimate

Brutus I made in 3 days, barely sleeping and just chugging through that bad boy like my life depended on it. It was fully made in FlipaClip so I'm not sure about the exact time but excluding the time I slept, rested and ate, it probably took like around 12-18 hours. Which is insane considering how unfinished it is compared to the other projects on this list LMAO. I just remember it took a long time and I was exhausted by the end.

She Wants Me (To Be Loved) took me around 6 hours and 35 minutes to draw character references, then 15 hours and 35 minutes on all the frames, then putting it all together in FlipaClip and tweening it probably took me like another hour? So around 23 hours total.

Poplar ST was my first fully lines and coloured frame by frame animation. The references for the characters took me 4 hours and 15 seconds, and all of the scenes combined took me 26 hours and 12 minutes, then I had to put it all into FlipaClip and animate it which I'd again estimate to around an hour of work, makes it an around 31 hours long project.

Spiral of Ants part 22 was a massive beast, but not even because of the finished product but mostly because I almost finished a different version of that part before losing momentum and deciding on something else entirely. The three frames (one of which is lost to time) of this original concept took 12 hours and 27 minutes to make. Unfortunately, the reference sheets were on my old phone so I don't know how long they took, but seeing how long the other references took me and considering the amount of characters in this, I'd say 4-5 hours is a fair estimate. Then after that didn't pan out, I made two storyboards for my ideas for this part, which took me 3 hours and 54 minutes. Then the references for that took me 4 hours and 51 minutes. Then making the frames for that took me 11 hours and 30 minutes, and tweening I'd say took me around 2 hours in total. In total, that's roughly 40 hours of work for one MAP part.

But these are all animations, so it's a given that they'll take way longer than a singular artwork

As a bonus, have these frames for the original Spiral of Ants concept that never was and some of the refs that survived Nuking (phone change)

I guess it was pretty recent in the epinagi chapters but I was fr hoping for more scenes with them T-T I was actually kinda just comparing it to the recent spy x family movie too and you can definitely notice some of the less refined moments in parts of the animation haha….overall I like how they explored a bit more of Nagi fs but it kinda makes me want another installment of the movie that’s less rushed and includes more of the actual epinagi content instead of only the parts that overall with the main series…I mean as a Nagi fan too I’m not really complaining much bc hey, more Nagi screen time! Considering the speed in which they got this out I won’t complain too much about the quality though I still think it was a good watch for Nagi and BLLK fans in general lolll

THE PINKY THING WAS SO FUNNY PLEASE i cannot get over it like why did they add that in LMAOAO i feel like reonagi is one of those ships that i acknowledge is probably closer to canon than most but i just do not care about it. honestly i don’t really have any ships in bllk (except kunigiri a bit??) that i’m super into just because them being weirdos abt soccer is so much funnier than anything!! i’ve also never really been a big shipper in general w any show i watch so that could also be why. like i recognize they exist and idc what other people ship but me personally you’ll never see me pressed or championing one ship or another. for me romance is more of a route to character exploration than a be-all end-all which is why on the RARE occasions i read a ship fic it’s almost always for the most random rare pair — you have to understand characters super well to convincingly write them together when they’ve met MAYBE once on screen so those types of fics always end up being more interesting to me. overall though if i like a character i’m going to write my own stories abt them and i’m not abt to write them w someone else when i could write abt them being in love with me 🙄 HAHA

i love nagi’s whole sparkly death aura i think it’s super cool!! and the little vacuum sound effect whenever he touches the ball hehe they definitely made it so pretty in the movie. i wasn’t expecting karasu and otoya to pull up just because of how recently it happened in the manga but i was still sad because they just made the second selection a montage (although when rin pulled up with his dramatic ass theme i laughed tbh) 😔 like ik we see it in the show already but LET ME SEE IT AGAINNNN!! i think w bllk the good animation is REALLY good and the bad is…well it’s certainly smth!! but i agree it was a fun movie and watch if you already like bllk…i hope they eventually do release another one or maybe an ova or smth w the rest of the second selection from nagi’s pov i would love to see it on screen.

the additional times either have majestic animation (the aryu vs rin glam battle was like. oddly well animated i feel??) or they’re super crunchy and i fear tabieitaken got the short end of the stick this time around…hoping they don’t do them dirty in season two because those are two of the most handsome boys in the manga (plus otoya) so i will be heartbroken if they aren’t given justice. karasu’s voice actor is super good though!! i actually do think bllk (at least the sub, i haven’t watched dub so can’t comment on that) has hit the mark with va’s every time. they all sound exactly how i would expect them too so far and i can’t wait for more scenes w the newer characters!!

YESS IK WHICH HAMSTER YOU MEAN that’s exactly what he looks like!! i don’t feel too bad about slandering hiori in the fwtkac series because i wrote white butterfly where he’s the main interest so obviously i don’t hate him…plus fwtkac y/n is hiori’s biggest (and probably only atm) defender so it balances out (and technically all of his nonsense is literally canon KHLFJSJD his light novel is so funny!! why does he literally stalk karasu (me fr though)!! i feel like in the manga it seems like karasu’s interest in hiori is v one-sided but then you read the ln and you’re like oh…this guy (meaning hiori) is actually a little bit Not Normal…in the words of y/n “he was definitely a freak.”) his light novel goes the most into depth about karasu’s character (it’s almost as much abt karasu as it is about hiori) so i did a reread before starting fwtkac and that’s what made me include little references to it!!

I JUST CHECKED THEIR WIKI PAGES BEFORE WRITING THAT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS TRUE i honestly forgot which one was taller between the two of them but i had a sense it was yuki AND IT WAS DSLFKJ especially the fact that it’s only by one cm you KNOW that is karasu’s roman empire…tbf i don’t think that it includes hair because according to the wiki nagi is taller than barou but w the hair included i think they end up being about the same height?? though nagi does slouch a bit so that much contribute to it…imagine the hairstyle y/n makes fun of in the series is actually a different one than we’re used to and he only pulls up w the crow hairstyle while in bllk so he can feel like he’s taller than yukimiya HAHAHA

FNAF AU STUFF

I have two FNAF aus, as one that is made back in 2017(?I think) and another made around in 2019. One already has a few old pages while the other is just drawings of said scenes. Both of them do not have a stable story, since I do want them seperate and not be linked in some way. Five years of Misery might actually be changed to a different name since it sounds a bit plain, while I have the other au named Reunited Dream.

I originally had a whole list on making ref sheets of just the characters for Reunited Dream ( will call it RDream ) as I only made the main 4 along with a written description on the child soul they are possessed by. Both of these aus are unfortunately somewhat unstable as I never written anything down except a few drafts on ONLY Five years of Misery (FYOM). Some of the written stuff that has been published is in Deviantart, while anything that is fyom is in Google docs.

Eren rants

So I just had a little discussion with one of the AOTnR staff on twitter, over Eren’s villain status in the Requeim fan ending in general. And it made me realize something very important. Something about why I disdain Isayama’s chapter 139 that much, and why I hate Eren’s characterization in 139 with a passion.

It’s not because Eren has become a mass murderer. While I do like him in season 1-3, like he doesn’t look bad he’s a determined madman, blah blah blah. But the fact that I liked him post time-skip the most is proof that I liked him as a character precisely because of he went down the slippery slope, and I was excited to see his final fate, what he would do, what he would become. I was thrilled to see him being broken by his own doing, and I revel seeing him suffer (pls ref to the “eren crying and apologizing to fez-kun” scene in chap 131 just in case, that one was sweet). 

And yes, when I read Chap 139 I was fucking pissed. I used to thought that it was because I aligned with the Yeagerists and that ending basically proved Eren wrong, proved me wrong, and made me lose face, but that was shallow and dumb, to much self-inserting is bad for your sainity really - what truly pissed me off was how Isayama made a half-assed attempt at trying to mellow down Eren’s villainy, by making him sympathetic, by making Armin (pretend to) comfort him.

Eren has always been wrong. While I would blame Yams for writing that “unwinnable scenario” and making everyone so damn extreme, mass genocide is always wrong. So Eren is indeed a villain, ever since the Marley arc. A villain protagonist with a heart, perhaps. But whiny ooc villain that cries over Mikasa marrying another guy, and gets comfort from Armin? LMAO hell no. Basically Isayama had decided to make Eren a villain in Marley arc all the way to most of the rumbling arc, but then he decided “nope it’s time to stop”. Yes, it stopped the rumbling, it probably relayed the information of genocide is wrong, it has political correctness, but storytelling wise it’s an ass pull. Why can’t we make things throughout? Make the villainy continue, make him destroy everthing, and everyone he had loved and sworn to protect. Then make him realize that he truly is no different from the outside world he destroyed, make him realize that he is indeed the Devil of Paradis. Finally make him break, knowing that he is now the greatest hypocrit and sinner of all world, and that he killed most of his friends; make him suffer from nightmares and guilt, because he achieved the rumbling, he will be hailed as hero of Paradis, against his own wishes. Tell you what, for a sin with a scale like that, death is just a way to escape punishment. The greatest punishment is to LIVE, in glory that he doesn’t want, in fame that he wishes he could deny, in misunderstanding; every morning he sees the rising sun he is reminded of his friends who could never see the sun again, and every night when he sleep he sees the countless people he had killed in his dream, his friends included, while he can speak nothing as they show disappointment and accuse him of betrayal and evilness. Oh the sufferings! it could be so great. All the while he had to pretend to be fine because Paradis people don’t understand the guilt. Isayama wanted a parallel between Eren and Reiner? THIS is the exact parallel that we could get if Eren managed 100% rumbling. In the end, if Yams want to write about what the world is like after a couple centuries, just says that history books now praise Eren as the savior of humanity and mentioned fucking nothing about the sins he commited. THIS WILL BE THE PERFECT IRONY.

I will use a quote of Nietzsche to end my rant here. "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you." That is Eren, a man who became the villain of his own story, if Isayama could handle the writing.

Oh, by the way,  if you disagree with what I said, it’s fine. I’m just a twisted person with a thing for suffering and violent destruction of beautiful things, afterall. Just forget aobut it. Have a nice day!

Ezuko’s QUIRK EXPLAINED

BASICS (Pros in normal, cons in bold)

Quirk name: Living ink

Ezuko is able to create ink-like substance into any surface she touches, basically allowing her to create tattoos and art pieces without needing tools. She just needs to imagine what she wants the picture look like, or have a reference to look at. She can also turn liquids into this inky substance.

Ezuko tends to need more time and proper focus if she wants to create larger and more intricate designs. For her to create these images or change a liquid into ink, she does need to be touching the object/liquid.

TATTOOING/ILLUSTRATING

She can easily create tattoos for people with her ability that is pretty much pain free, or graffiti or even basically change the color and design of an entire building, piece of clothing, etc.

The image she’s made, she can shift and change and make move however she wants, even after a long time. She can use these moving images to even temporarily blind people by making the image shift around their eyes.

The process in some cases take even longer than doing the same tattoo traditionally would take, at least if the image is complex and large, and she doesn’t have proper references for it.

For her to be able to make the pictures move, she usually requires having been touching the object/person minimum of five seconds.

Her quirk ultimately is not meant for combat, and she can’t really use her drawings in a fight, only disorient them to either flee or find a chance to use her liquid shifting ability.

LIQUID SHIFT

Ezuko’s ability to change liquids into ink can allow her (accidentally or on purpose) to turn a person’s blood into ink and basically poison them to death near instantly. 

She can neutralize liquid based attacks as well by turning them to her ink, which will automatically start to listen to her commands.

She is immune to most acids and poisons (non-digested ones) because she automatically turns these things into ink when they touch her. It’s not her quirk being passive however, but rather a survival reaction she has developed. 

In order to do this, she needs to be able to touch the liquid she wants to change, which means in a case of a fight, she needs to either make the person bleed (or get them to spit or whatever, she prefers the blood as its “easier.”)

PERSONALITY SUMMARY

Ezuko tends to be fairly blunt, no nonsense type of person. She’s mostly pretty calm and level headed even in tight situations, but when her temper flares it can be pretty bad. She’s gonna let you hear where you screwed up exactly, in other words. 

Ezuko tends to not like people with “strong” quirks by default, because the whole obsession over quirks let to her family disowning her for not having a “good enough” power and wanting to do something else than be a hero or have some other profilic career. She can change her mind about you (like she did with Ryuu) once she gets to know you better, and sees you’re not putting all your value as a person on your power. 

She’s quite intelligent and enjoys reading and learning about a lot of different things, partly because it helps her imagination run wilder and thus makes it faster to create her images. 

BACKGROUND STORY (A quick summary, details may develop)

Ezuko was born to parents who were all about status, and quite disappointed to find out her quirk wasn’t suitable for heroism. They then tried to push her for something else that could rise their wealth and standing in society. Ezuko herself didn’t want to do this, dealing with a lot of arguments and abusive language from them, up until she moved out at age 18, heading to study arts. After that her family basically disowned her, refusing to even answer her calls. Ezuko quit trying to reach them, figuring she’d be better off without.

Then, when she was doing an apprenticeship in a tattoo parlor, she ended up having to deal with an abusive customer one evening, where he started harassing her. In a panic, she ended up discovering another, unfortunate side-effect of her quirk, where during the struggle she managed to make the guy bleed, and then swiftly turned his blood into ink, killing him near instantly. Some local residents came to see the commotion, and instead of asking her side of the story just automatically began to call her a murderer as the customer was a regular, forcing her to flee the scene. 

The local press and everybody around there started to exaggerate her temper and further paint her in a bad light, forcing Ezuko to flee the place altogether. She tried to reach for her parents for help, but they refused to help her, believing the media that she’d done it on purpose.

Sometime during her runaway spree she ran into Ryuu, who’d only recently gained lot of notoriety, though the girl was unaware of this. He helped her in a fight against some thugs, and she brings the injured Ryuu into her hideout to fix his injuries. They stick together for a bit, and Ryuu even brings her to a person he knows that generally tends to help out with people like her - a broker named Giran. Giran let’s her work in his bar, also making sure that everybody knew not to bother her as that’d be a bad idea. He even helps her to get a place to stay in eventually. Sometime during these years, she hears rumors about “Frostbite” having potentially died, which makes her a little sad initially, though Giran cheers her up be stating that there was probably more to the story than that.

Some years after that, she finds out about Ryuu being alive through Giran, as he sends her to bring something to “an old acquaintance” as the man put it. This said acquaintance turned out to be Ryuu.

Few more extra details;

- She’s the only person out of the people around Kain who actually understands his more scientific talk. They can end up having long conversations about a subject that none of the others have a clue of.

- Her name translates to “Paint” (Pandoru that she pronounces as pandora) and “illustration lake.” (Ezuko)

- The world she lives in is based on my fic Reanimate, which basically means there’s no league of villains, as Tenko never became “Shigaraki.” Giran is the only important member (outside of afo) that is still a criminal in this AU. Because of Kain’s dimension hopping ability, this doesn’t mean she doesn’t get to interact with the more villainous versions of the gang, though. 

- Ezuko made Ryuu’s dragon tattoo as a thank you for helping her.

- Her surname is bit of a pun, as it’s written as “Pandoru” aka paint, but after leaving home and her parents behind, she began saying it as “Pandora” referring to Pandora’s box as a bit of a darker joke about her choosing to go against her parents and thus unleashing a lot of bad things into her life. This proved to be even more accurate after the parlor incident. 

- Her parents wanted her to either find a way to become a hero with her quirk, or go into some other highly respected profession for status and money, when Ezuko just wanted to do something artistic.

- Ryuu actually didn’t start crushing on her until after they met again years later after their first meeting, when he and Kain returned from another eventful dimension hopping trip to visit their little sanctuary corner and friends, Wasabi and his mums. Up until then he’d seen her just as a friend/acquaintance

- Wasabi digs her a lot because they have similar hairstyles.

- The vine tattoo represents her quirk and spreads around her arms and shoulders more when using her quirk. When using it in extreme amounts (Like turning a large body of liquid into ink for example) her skin around those parts gets so covered it looks like she just has one large pitch black tattoo covering those areas, and you can no longer see the vine details.

I don't get why people think that all the parallels between Mileven and Elliot/E.T. mean that they can't be romantic/endgame. E.T. is like the biggest inspiration for ST, of course they would parallel it, but not rewrite the same story! Here they could be switching the story up by having Elliot fall in love with "E.T.", who's a actually a (human) girl his age. It really doesn't prove anything about the future of the relationship that they made an hommage to E.T. scenes in S1.

El watches he-man in s1. In s2 Erica makes he-man and barbie kiss: “Hey , They’re in love!”Lucas (livid- and standing right next to a rainbow forcing them apart): “No, actually,  they’re not. they don’t even exist on the same planet.”  Mileven is not in love! Notice in s2 , that same season , Dustin also has he-man and et next to eachother as well (next to ghost buster toys).They said they made el dress like a ghost cause et did so- and then for the extra burn they made mike a ghost hunter/buster.

They’re as compatible as a ghost and a ghost hunter- a boy and an alien.

El and mike are compared to ET and Eliot -WHO AREN’T FROM THE SAME PLANET (by the Duffers in multiple interviews , in the pilot script, and illustrated in the show ) .Also when dustin in s1 says el is “like a wizard” (like Will.) Mike corrects dustin and says “more like yoda”. Really hammering down the alien references. And then there’s the  old euphemism of “girls come from Venus, and boys come from Mars”.  The Duffers saying mileven isn’t in love cause they’re not even from the same planet (aka the same gender) -is just them telling us Mike is gay so he can’t fall for El-who is a girl/diff species. They literally have Will say to Mike “welcome to my world” as a contrast. So El telling mike he should ‘stick with his own species’ (aka boys) is another gay hint. 

They showed Et/Barbie next to he-man, compared El to Et (who had a barbie-like makeover), had El watch he-man , so the next he-man ref of ‘not being in love’  cause they’re from different planets would connect in a more obvious way to mileven.  Same with Et next to the ghost trap and ghost busters sign (and El dressing as a ghost and Mike as a ghost buster-as an extra burn).And sorry ... who compares the girl they “crush on” with a green gross alien (yoda)?

- Mike thinking of El as alien-esque is hammered down again when they compare s1 mileven to s2 dart /dustin (a demo dog) , to further show how un-romantic it is. And how alien he sees her. Fin even said the duffers told him Mike saw el as a “puppy’ (right after s1).  Sharing sweets ( nougat vs eggos) for breakfast and saying they’ll have to wait for them to come home from school. saying they ‘promised’ to take care of them and that El/dart ‘trust’ them. Dart killing a cat and  El almost killing a cat.The crews thinking both El & Dart were bad guys and both end up running away because of that. Mike even admits in s1 he doesn’t like eggos and told El she doesn’t have to eat “like a dog” anymore. And mike annoyed, in s2 saying  “a bond? cause he likes nougat ?!” is dissing milevens who thought the ego thing was cute/romantic.  And all of those reasons is why El says in s3 angrily , “am I your pet?”

In s3,they even threw in Mike on the phone saying “EL? No not interested...telemarketers”  Flo in s1 says “only love makes you that crazy and that damn stupid.” El in s3: “more to life than stupid boys/ what makes you crazy? “ Then in s3 Dustin calls mileven “bullshit” aka just like stancy (Wheeler lying about being in love with partner, when secretly into a byers. Nancy verbally said “i love you” and kissed  Steve all the time- like mileven. That doesn’t equal love) . In s3, they even had steve say “Dustin was right . it’s bullshit.” She lied to her friends to kiss Mike, going against her “friends don’t lie “ mantra . And Mike never apologized for lying. And el never apologized for spying.  Mileven dances to a song about a stalking ex- El does so in s3. In s2 she watches a soap opera and mimics the character who does not end up with Mike Roy- and it ends with one of them stalking the other after the breakup and sabotaging their new romances. When El confesses to mike (and Mike doesn’t kiss her back or close his eyes) the ‘first i love you’ played- which was only played 1 other time: when steve got rejected by gay Robin. They even paralled mileven to Luke/leia. Finn in that same interview after s1 said Duffers told him mileven is like a “summer love” (aka ‘summer loves’ are flings that end in the summer). Like Max and Will said ‘ That doesn’t sound like a break/it’s not !” The list goes on and on

Move on ,you’re ship was never good. It’s a dumpster fire. The second she dumped him she started ogling  another boy in a magazine and had a dance party. That’s what lights up your phone screen at damn near three in the morning. You roll over, squinting at the bright screen as you grab it from your bedside table. It’s one of the lamest texts you’ve ever gotten. It’s barely a step up from the even more basic ‘u up?’ and you’re half tempted to leave him on read. Octavio can do better than that.

Yet, you scroll through your compilation of gifs and send him one of a woman rolling her eyes. Sure, it’s disdainful but he now knows that you are, in fact, awake.

About three months ago, you were offered a job by Apex, the corporation running the well renowned Apex Games. The offered pay was astronomical in comparison to what you made at your humble little gig as a thorn in a journalist’s side. Room and lodging would be included in the miniature city built just for Champions and the people who made the games happen.

All you had to do was do what you do best. Take pictures.

Every advertisement, webpage, and piece of merchandise is covered with your pictures of the Legends. Those that you take in the studio given to you and those that you take off the clock. Every picture on your camera belongs to Apex, even with your signature scratched at the bottom of all of them.

Because of this, it had taken a select few Legends time to warm up to you. Others, not so much.

Octavio, better known as Octane, might as well have sat in your lap when you walked in with a camera hanging around your neck.

Though you’re a lot quieter than ‘The Adrenaline Junkie’, you have about as much impulse control as he does. So one night when he’d visited you in your studio a little past business hours, brandishing a bottle of Hennessey Black the size of your head, one thing lead to another and, well.

The events of that night lead to you getting texts from Octavio at damn near three in the fucking morning asking you to come over.

That, even more so.

Against your better judgment, you text him back with words instead of a gif. You’ll be over in ten minutes.  If he drinks all the liquor before you get there, you’re leaving. You imagine him cackling at his screen because if you know him at all, and you do, he’s probably polished off at least a quarter of the bottle on his own.

Octavio’s apartment is a five minute walk from yours but you gave yourself an extra five to brush your teeth and find your shoes. The penthouse suites offered to all the Legends is right across the street from your simple one bedroom.

When you first moved in, you thought maybe Apex Corp wanted you to take paparazzi sort of shots of their competitors. They’ve never asked you to and you haven’t bothered to try, so you guess they just gave you what was available.

Whatever. You don’t mind living in earshot of some of the deadliest people in the Outlands. Especially now that you’re fucking one of them.

God, you never thought you’d be in this position. Sure, you’re not fucking blind, most of the Legends are attractive. Bangalore has a smirk that drops panties and a voice that’s a little more gravelly than the average woman. Wraith’s got the prettiest eyes you’ve ever seen, powers or otherwise, and her skin is flawless. Gibraltar could probably defeat half of his opponents by throwing them.

Even those that you can’t see the faces of have appeal – Bloodhound’s shroud of mystery has gained them quite the following online and what Octavio doesn’t show of his face is made up for by his stupid little crop top.

You just… Didn’t anticipate any of them finding you attractive too. Least of all the speedster with a penchant for picking up bad habits. Like fucking the photographer. You run your hand down your face as you exit your house, locking it behind you before jogging across the street to the penthouse suites.

Even if you had toyed with the possibility of warming one of their beds, you certainly didn’t think you’d wind up in Octavio’s. Maybe Elliot, who’s got a reputation for getting around, or Ajay, who’s could crush you with her thighs. Octavio, whose accent and stupid selfies had caught the attention of many Apex fans, was the last legend you expected to end up making your heart do the jitterbug-

It’s not, you’re not, you vehemently remind yourself as you enter the elevator of the Legends’ suites. Absolutely not. No way. You walk down the hallway to Octavio’s door, reminding yourself over and over again you’re most certainly not catching feelings and whatever dance your heart is doing has something to do with the lack of sleep.

Even though that makes no sense, it’s what you tell yourself, because there’s no fucking way you’re into Octavio like that. Not into someone you’re just hooking up with. Not into someone who’s only interested in hooking up.

You knock once on his door and you barely have a chance to step back before Octavio’s tearing it open. His mask is gone and even though you’ve seen his face a million times by now, you still take a moment to breathe him in. He’s got the prettiest green eyes you’ve ever seen, glassy with alcohol, and you notice that he’s in need of a shave, his cheeks tinted dark by pinpricks of facial hair.

“It’s three am,” you tell him.

“Yet here you are, amiga,” he smirks.

“For the booze,” you reply and he snickers, shoving out a plastic cup you hadn’t noticed he was holding. The stench of Smirnoff envelops you and you sigh, snatching it away and shouldering your way into his apartment.

“What are you doing up, anyway?” You ask, flopping on the couch and taking a large enough gulp of your cup to make your nose burn. You squeeze your eyes briefly closed, letting out a little ‘ahh’ as Octavio’s weight sinks the opposite side of the couch.

“Couldn’t stop watching The Flash. But Barry got kinda boring, so I texted you,” he says and you snort, opening one eye to glance at him. You hadn’t even noticed the title glaring at you from the flat screen only a few feet away, the only light in the apartment aside from the stove.

God, he’s so unfairly pretty. He’s resting his tousled head of green hair, the same green as his eyes, in his hand, propped up on the back of the couch. His PLUS ULTRA tattoo peeks out from the three quarter sleeved shirt he’s wearing and you go for your drink, hoping you can excuse the warmth in your chest as Smirnoff.

“Of course you were. You’re so fuckin’ basic.”

“I’m on brand.”

“You’re at home. Alone.”

“Not anymore.”

You snort, finally beginning to feel that warmth in your chest drip down into your stomach. The easy, fuzziness that comes with being here, with drinking and banter and the promise of something so much sweeter.

“Well, thanks for inviting me,” you say, “now where are those wings?”

As promised, Octavio brings you a takeout box with about thirty wings. With liquor brewing in your stomach, you probably could demolish them, but you’re barely buzzed and still willing to be polite.

It’s the wee hours of the morning, so you’re grateful that each of the Legends have soundproof walls. You and Octavio put on old telenovelas, even though your Spanish is slim to none, and he makes you laugh by describing the scenes to you.

“Oho man, she’s such a bitch. The mother basically just told the son’s lover acompáñame a ver esta triste historia.”

“I don’t speak Spanish, Oc,” you remind him around a mouthful of a wing coated in ranch.

“Remember how the girl’s parents died when she was six?” He asks and you nod your head, vaguely remembering the shitty graphics acting as flashbacks. “The son’s mother heard that and might as well have said ‘that’s cute’.”

You were right to assume Octavio had already had a hefty serving of alcohol before he’d texted you, as he brings out the bottle when your glass gets low, a little less than half of it gone. He’s got a higher alcohol tolerance than you and it’s obvious the more you two delve into the Smirnoff.

He smirks at you when you whine about the wings getting low, polishing off what must be your twelfth. You’ve officially had enough alcohol to stop being polite and Octavio loops an arm around your shoulder. When had he gotten so close to you on the couch?

“There, there,” he murmurs into your hair, “there will be wings tomorrow, mami.”

“But I want them now,” you complain, only to completely forget your train of thought as you bury your nose in the collar of Octavio’s shirt. “Fuck, you smell good. Do you always smell this good?”

“I smell like liquor,” he snickers, kissing the top of your head and you shudder as he slides his fingers through the small hairs at the base of your neck.

“And soap. What soap do you use? I bet you use Old Spice. Old Spice is so basic but it smells so fucking good,” you ramble, tilting your head just enough so that your lips brush against his collarbone.

“Gracias,” he hums, tilting his head back a smidge. You take this as an invitation and begin placing careful, open mouthed kisses up the length of his neck.

Octavio sighs through his nose, arm around your shoulders sliding down your side to pull you half into his lap. Your teeth scrape his pulse and his grip on you tightens.

“You didn’t say yes or no,” you absently mumble as he grabs a handful of your ass. He squeezes before you pull back just enough to meet those pretty green eyes of his, dark with want.

“Yeah, it’s Old Spice,” he says, then leans in to devour your mouth with his.

Octavio grins roguishly. You roll your eyes, throwing one of the couch cushions at him. It doesn’t get anywhere close to hitting him and Octavio snickers, bending down to toss it back onto the couch. “Who knows?”

Octavio turns back to the bathroom and his playful expression slackens. His brow scrunches up as he flicks the light on, closing the restroom door behind him and staring disbelievingly into the mirror.

Astrea Maryam-Lalonde is the descendant of Kanaya. She’s a nerd just like her moms and loves to read and stuff. She’s good at meticulous work and stuff and loves drawing and writing stories. She’s a pretty cheeky little dork and is sassy as hell. She thinks being in a family of gods is the raddest thing and she’s kinda got the ‘I was born for destiny!’ anime protag mentality so yknow she’s pretentious about that.

She’s got a pretty short temper and is ready to fight all the fucking time. Rose is just “man that was me when i was a kid, huh” and all the betas just nod and laugh at her. She loves learning shit and is always up to teaching people new things too but in a lot less pretentious way than Rose used to be, you know. She sometimes just goes “oh, i know some trivia about that stuff. wanna hear?” and if they say no then that’s the end of the convo but otherwise she unloads so much info on them. She loves drawing and Dave, Callie and Roxy helps her with her art and Dirk, along with Rose, helps her with writing. Jane taught her to cook and bake and she loves visiting her and June for pastries and when Karkat and Jake’s there they also watch movies and argue over the quadrants of the characters and the action scenes. Jake and Vriska take her out a lot for hikes and little escapades, sometimes Terezi tags along but mostly Terezi tells her about laws and stuff. Jade, Kanaya and Callie also teach her a lot about gardening and she just likes doing stuff that take a bit of effort and time, helps her be patient about things.

This is Kagang Vantas-Strider. He’s an ecto-mix of Karks and Dave and it’s a whole thing that im still mulling over but yeah he’s half human-half troll and HOH so some people give him shit for that but then they look over their shoulders and see Astrea so yknow that’s fun. He used to be really shy but then grew up to be a little shit as well just like his dads lmao. He’s a bit of a prick in a way that he’s just subtly rude like he’ll be vague and subtweet you irl and he’s just open about his dislike of shit you do or say. Karkat kinda just looks at that and goes ‘wow that is my kid huh’ and kanaya just pats him

He’s sort of a mellower and more patient version of Karkat when he was younger like he can be really really passionate about something and just keep talking about it for hours on end and just not let anyone interrupt him and defends things with fervor. He’s a passionate guy lmao. He’s also a pretty sentimental kid and keeps gifts around no matter how useless they are. Dirk used to be a little weird around him for Bro reasons but some talking and a really sad Kagang kinda kicked some sense into him and so makes him little things for fun. He likes music a whole fuckin’ lot and even gets violin lessons from Rose and piano lessons from June. Jade, Jake and Vriska take him out sometimes for little adventures like going out into the forest and just looking at fauna and flora. Jade, Terezi, Roxy and Callie tell him a lot about plants and history and he just kinda fuckin loves that shit and visits them a lot just to listen to that shit. He also asks a lot about troll and human biology to Kanaya and Jane, he likes that kinda shit and he thinks theyre the coolest fucking things.

This is my precious little prick, hence I don’t draw them often I just think of them fondly lmao. Their name is Protan Isiara and theyre a pompous little purple blood that believes they can become the perfect leader of the world lmao. They used to be part of a pretty weird cult kinda thing that believes in the hemospectrum still and the god dude that the purple bloods believed in but a small mishap had them running into Vriska and Terezi when they were out adventuring and they just kinda looked at them and were like “This kid’s a prick. Let’s fix that.” and basically adopted them. The two kinda had them unlearn a lot of toxic stupid shit like the hemo-fucking-spectrum and also that the old ways of culling and other troll culture they only vaguely know about being the ‘best way to live’. They still want to be a leader and shit but they’re a whole lot kinder about it and realistic.

They were picked up by the two when they were about 10 to 12 during one of Vriska and Terezi’s escapades out into the world and the three of them have been travelling together since then. They’re a bit shy about affection being given or when they give it out but they genuinely appreciate it and care about the people around them. They respect Vriska and Terezi very much along with the rest of the survivors after they meet them, but they hold a special place in their heart for the pair because they were the first they met outside their little cult. 

They’re colorblind and i can’t remember what colors it was but they got those special glasses when the three of them went the nearest city after Terezi found out about it. They love being out and about, never really staying indoors for too long so they love taking up Jade and Jake’s offer for foraging or going to little adventures. They also love books and so they visit Kanaya and Rose a lot for book recommendations and even ask some from Dirk as well, and whenever they visit they love listening to Callie tell them stories, doesn’t really matter what it’s about they just love stories. They also just fucking love comedy for some fucking reason and they laugh at even the dumbest shit they fell for updog once and they haven’t stopped laughing at it so June and Jane are just the best freakin people to them they think their pranks are top tier shit. They think coding is some amazing shit and talk to Dirk and Roxy a lot about it though they are absolute dog shit at it but yknow keep tryin and all that. They’re just as interested in guns as the HarlEnglish and so the three of them just spend long hours talking about them and even going along with their outings looking at new stuff like that.

Anyway yeah these are my loser kids and i have another one sort of in my head but maybe I’ll deal with that some other time. I’m making a better ref for these losers for my prompt list next month so it’s been Kidsstuck city these past few days lmao

ok so, i don't like devin grayson. i don't like her writing at all, i don't think she gets the characters at all, and hot take: if you dislike a character who's super important part of dick's life, and helped him come into his own and be who he is, you shouldn't be writing that character. (i'm talking about kory here, but tbh if you dislike any of the characters who dick interacts with frequently and are a huge part of his life - especially his love interests, and his family - you shouldn't be writing dick.) so i'm not going into this story with high hopes. however i've seen ppl talk about this story as being really good so i hope i'll like it too

this is def some of grayson's better work, but it suffers from the same thing all of her stories do. she doesn't fully understand all the characters. if one character is off it affects the whole story. a lot of her stories have good ideas and poor execution, and this one definitely doesn't have awful execution but there's still something missing and as someone who loves the titans it's just sad. i get why people like this story - it made me tear up at the end ngl - but the rest of the titans are just as important as dick and it feels like the writer doesn't understand that. (i get this is a dick comic but it's still a titans story.) (it does however make me want to write a fic expanding upon this moment and the aftermath bc the idea of the titans all coming together to cheer dick up is so goooooood. are they gonna have a party celebrating dick's parent's lives? are they gonna eat junk food and watch a comfort movie? are they gonna just sit and talk?? the possibilities are endless!!)

ok so y'all know i hate dickbabs. i hate everything about how it was built on the foundation of tearing down kory and dickkory and i'm a kory fan first and foremost so i hate this whole situation. so i'm already predisposed to disliking anything that talks about how babs is dick's true love, and talks down any of his other love interests. i come into this with an admitted bias. i'd try to be charitable but i don't see why i should when no one involved in the writing of dickbabs is charitable towards my faves so 🤷
