OCXCanon - Like everything I do is this. Idk this is what fuels me. Tbh let me gush about 3 of those here.

Wol/Estinien - My Warrior of Light Ahya is a monk first. She learns the healing arts of the stars later. I want to rewrite first steps of faith where she like grabs on one of the dragon killers and launches herself onto the dragon's back. This actually doesn't work and Ahya injures herself p badly. Like NEEDS time to rest and recover before like... doing her monk shit again. Estinien actually finishes the job of killing the dragon here and is like 'ur reckless wtf was that you're not a dragoon' (would make a good dragoon later. yes he will train her in that way later). But during recovery she studies astromancy to help her own healing. Anyway these 2 are like

Remilia(my sorcerer)/Ennui(dnd npc)/Mordecai(dnd npc) - (yes at this point its ocxocxoc but I love them). 3 nerds together. Remilia learned the divination magic she so craved from Mordecai. She learned a lot of basic survival and like magical creatures from Ennui. And like theres a level of vulnerability Remilia feels she can have with them instead of like current party bc of how she was kjinda dragged in. I've (in character) have been writing letters to them for the whole mission (just over a month in game time)(we aren't even done)(have just 'been gathering allies to stop the cult')(still have to like.... actually do that whole siege sequence)(I BELIEVE IT WILL COME BACK I AM MANIFESTING THIS). Even tho this campaign has been on hiatus for like years I do not care I still think about them. I am a fandom of 1 so I'll keep ship sailing myself if I gotta.

Castlevania OT3 (Alucard/Sypha/Trevor) - I REMEMBERED A CANON CHARACTERS ONE HOLY SHIT. Idk their dynamic was real good in the show that i still gotta finish maybe someday.

Currently, only one person in the party (Clover) knows about the extent of his scars but not the story behind them, so I can't delve too deep into them yet. But he's been around for a long time (over a century, at the least) in a pretty tough world, so he's accumulated a lot of scars over the years. in short, though, he's had his throat slit, and he's been on fire (his arm). as soon as he talks about them more I assure you I'll be running here to share the stories here too!!

Hey, for the oc ask game, how about #6 (Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?) for Ruse?

Wow I wasnt expecting to get any asks!! My darling Ruse (theyre actually a huge bastard) is a hard one to answer this one for! They've been through a lot, and- like the edgelord they are- they don't have a whole lot of people they trust to that extent. One of the closest people I could say is Hi (pronounced "he"), their aarakocra party member. The two have some "rogue solidarity" between each other and neither would admit to REALLY caring about the other. As far as they go is saying theyre "friends" lol Hi was immortal and has lived through many things and seen things most people have not, giving him a sort of wisdom that Ruse respects. The two always felt like that since they were such surface level friends and know that life comes at you fast there's no reason to lie to the other as well, making any advice Hi would have to share invaluable. Ruse greatly respects him, even if they're too prideful to show it.

As for who they would never take the advice of? Probably their twin, Torel haha. Something about growing up with him and knowing him better than anyone else? And also sort of to purposefully to be a shit to his brother LOL The two of them have been through so much together, and I think Ruse understands Torel enough to already know what kind of advice they would receive from him and enough to know that they would probably never take it haha.

death and loss. especially if theres nothing to be done. permanent loss just hits, probably because of how many people both died and just disappeared in t589, plus just suddenly losing her family then the c127 guys. and ofc its just sad in general - suffering in general hurts her heart even as a longtime l corp agent

owen probably knows that tbh since they stayed pretty close to eachother throughout t589, but whenever shes emotional she tends to hide it. most people dont know and she wants to keep it that way

tbh bella cries kinda.. easily? subconsciously? she tends to cry but not realize it, like in the laundry room. as a kid she ended up seeing a lot of death and loneliness in t589, and the first instinct of crying kinda just cemented itself there.

as captain though (and as she grew up) she a) started going into like. serious mode to deal with shit (ex. when she used pink the in the shelter) and b) purposefully kept her emotions in check more. but when shes alone they just spring back up (more examples. bc i like to point out things in my writing :3 after The Safety Incident with lunas, laundry room ofc, and after the pink and shelter thing*)

when it comes to stressful situations, especially in combat/trying to protect others, she acts more serious and walled off. but in the aftermath her walls tend to crumble

for sillier situations though. she is not immune to the silly. she can resist it but eventually she will cave. put her with ppodae for long enough and she will exit containment with him /hj

red!!!! warmer colors represent her well, which are also her favorite colors :) i think shed like the primary ones, plus cyan purple and pink. she loves pleasant gradients.

red - passion, excitement, love, but also danger and anger. orange - creativity, warmth, happiness. this one doesnt have any negative meanings lmao. also grabs attention like red! yellow - optimism and cheer, but also intellect and caution. + alarm and sickness (i can totally see this in some art based around the negative meanings where theres just. a blaringly bright yellow background)

shes very passionate and happy, but also impulsive and dangerous, both to herself and others. like super red. on the inside though she is more mellow and intelligent than she acts, yellow and orange.

all the colors grab attention like i said, and yeah she likes to do that. she wants to appeal to everyone and make them all happy :)

she takes on more than she can handle. in her own story she focuses so hard on dealing with the timeloop entirely alone that she goes out of her mind with stress. even in more mundane things shell try and go alone, which ig shows a side of her i havent looked into much.

for all of her friendliness she doesnt really trust people as much as she lets on. she doesnt expect them to come save her. she tries to be their friend and appeal to them but assumes that they only see her friendship as something passing or fickle.

everything i said about her applies to dnd vera as well! she also tries to be everyones friend and like a beacon of warmth, but thinks they dont care as much as they do. she revels in the communities she finds as she travels, cementing the temporariness of it all in her mind. and so, she takes it all on alone, and when she fails she can only fall back on herself.

shes assuming the party is going to abandon her soon since she practically almost killed them (and herself!) - mostly from her past, but also from the views of friendship shes made in her mind. like cutting off a deal because she couldnt uphold it. (also on that note i couldnt see through the fog of angst </3 she wont be mad at them for coming back!!! more just. surprised and happy, but assuming it isnt gonna last.)

Finally a complete set with all my planned Rooks! It's just a first take, depending on the CC and the game and how I will feel in the next months they will change for sure. My little baby, my firstborn, the first Rook I designed. Used to work as a lil kid in Skyhold's kitchen, until he met the demon Enfenim in that abandoned library hidden there, befriending him (it's another OCs of mines, check my pinned!)

Long story short he gets adopted by my Lavellan after his magic manifested, in the kitchens. Near boiling oil. The left side of his face and shoulder is covered in burn scars. Still he grows up to be a great but VERY unlucky mage, to the point he considers himself bad news and slowly starts to embrace this side of him in a selfdeprecating way. After yet another incident, he leaves her mother and their community, deciding he wants to make just one single good thing for her: finding Solas. Hiding his identity he ends up joining the crows, finding out he's quite good as an assassin. Relationship wise I brutally ship him with Elgar'nan, but more specifically he's in a weird... double triangle romboid (?) relationship with also Sulenan and Bellara??? (aka Sulenan also has a relationship with all of them but Bellara and Elgar'nan don't deal with each other.... unless the game will state otherwise >:D) He's hella young, in his early twenties, but usually fakes his age and tries to pass as someone older. He's also the shortest elf you'll ever meet.

◆ Saara(?) "Rook"

Qunari ◆ female ◆ she/her Veil Jumpers ◆ Bow Rogue (Arcane Archer)

She's meant to be the real Rook, you know, the one who Varric recruits. Qunari who was taken in by a (very open minded) Dalish clan. I'm still unsure if she was born in the Qun or not, in any case she embraced the elven culture as her own. She can be considered diplomatic and understanding, a good bean. The idea behind her is linked to the Qunari having metallic like skin... I wanted to make a golden one since they're usually grey in games. I'm not sure about the name Saara just because I remembered now Sera has a very similar sound. We shall see if I'm going to change it.

◆ Sulenan

Elf ◆ Male ◆ he/him Shadow dragons ◆ Two handed Warrior (Slayer)

I idealized him as a... mortal form Elgar'nan would use to mingle and learn the hell has happened while he was gone but he became a whole unique character. A Liberati of dalish origin, he's one of the angriest characters I have, hating humans for what they've done to his people and their rotten society, hating the chantry for its comforting lies, hating the elvhen gods because... well apparently they're evil now. In the end he's just very lost and heartbroken, desiring only for things to get better. Alas he's also practical and knows you gotta make your hands dirty if you wanna achieve anything. Headcanon wants Elgar'nan can control him through Vallaslin, I also fantasized about Sulenan sharing the same blood of his god. He feels comforted by Bellara's presence tho, his "Official" relationship it's going to be with her. For the headcanon chaotic one check LilRook above 👀

Qunari ◆ Agender nonbinary ◆ they/them in game but any pronoun works Mourn Watch ◆ Staff Mage (Deathcaller)

It's just... chaotic. Take the Dnd core rules and turn them into a person. They're unpredictable, at times taking a kind choice, while another time they will act in scary ways. It isn't like they don't like rules and push against them, for Anarca rules simply aren't part of their world. Beside their peculiar behavior, Anarca loves to experiment but mostly they want to have *fun*. You want to see the skeletons dance? You'll have that. Look wise people are always scared as they're extremely tall, most of their face half covered by hair with just their horns poking out.

Elf-blooded Human ◆ Female ◆ she/her Grey Wardens ◆ Shield Warrior (Champion)

Melancholic gal whom had to join the wardens in order to survive not so different from the Hero of Ferelden and also the token human (?) of this group. While she has a rooted sense of duty which made her a good warden, she still misses and fantasizes about the kind of life she would have gone through if she stayed among nobles, instead she had and still has to fight monsters and to come into terms with her Calling being closer than not. The idea was to have her romance Emmrich, letting her coming to term with the concept of death through him.

The cheerful and funny guy of the group but also the most clueless one. Honestly he doesn't know why he joined the Veilguard... he probably doesn't even know he's part of the Veilguard. Still, he isn't one to ask complex questions to himself or others, somehow he's able to work with whatever is at hand, navigating through every situation, hopefully bringing a smile on people's face in the meanwhile. He's goofy but still charismatic and enthusiastic, a disney princess in the body of a burly pirate drawf.

i've been debating whether i wanna lay out scar's backstory or not because i enjoy the mystery of this lying little man who gets away with it every time gfjdkgjdf i'll give a little hint about one entity he encounters in his backstory ok; it's a fey creature and its body is completely made out of mossy stone :D maybe i'll try to draw something about their encounter that will explain a thing or two (or not)

Wait, like actually for real?

I mean sure, might as well (tldr: a bit lengthy background story about how the oc came to be; you can skip that if you want)

So like about 6 or 7 years ago (so like, when I was 13 - 14ish) I actually had a bigger friend group I was hanging around with by the end of my school years and we DID have a plan to play a dnd campaign but we never even played one session and the friend group dispersed soon after we made that plan since we all graduated and switched schools so we never saw each other again (only got contacts with one of the guys anymore so yeah, wah-wah, nobody wants to hear the sob-story but I feel the background is imp to mention)

I don't have any previous drawings of her and only sparse notes flying around, and I was only reminded of her existence by that friend more or less recently, since I told him about my current interest in dnd

(Also here please note, we were children who didn't know dnd, any mechanics or how to play, we were just having fun with our imagination, so if anything doesn't make sense about this character, this is why)

So here ACTUALLY what this characters is about:

Her name was supposed to Silvester and she was a bard wood elf, about 200 years old and actually stupid tall, I'm talking about 7 to almost 8 ft tall (I know that this is a ridiculous hight, don't come for my teen self💀)

The "staff" she is carrying and using is what we call a "Teufels Geige", which translated means "Devil's Violin", and I only know about that thing because I saw an old video of when my dad was a teen and he played it (I don't know if there is an official English name for it? From what I know it's primarily used in European countries in folk music and to accompany other instruments but you could just play it on it's own) (The devils head on top is placed there because of its name but I wanted for Silvester to match that energy so she made herself a headpiece out of a cow's horns)

Since I'm not really a singer type or like super witty and funny, I was having trouble with making her character, but one of my old friends said that she doesn't have to be a singing performer but that she could be a poet of sorts. Now, I'm not a poet either, but I could work with that better.

So Silvester here was striving throughout the land watching people and writing down and collecting stories she heard from others or witnessed them herself, to make poems, stories and nursery rhymes out of them.

And well she had hundreds and thousands of these stories and stuff written down, but one she had never finished about a mother and her four children, which would have been a rather sweet rhyme, but in the end she would get way to upset just thinking about what happened.

Not gonna continue here because that part of the backstory got unnecessary dark and morbid because it would involve deaths and I was still a bit edgy with my story writing.

She was chased away by people living in a village near her cottage in the woods, by burning down that small forest she was living in.

After that she still continued to write down stories and poems. But they usually ended up being dark and grotesque now. (Because a lot of nursery rhymes and children short stories we were told about as kids were about injury and death and tragedy, for some reason, don't ask😗🫰) (I would put some examples out the top of my head here but I would have to translate them and then they would sort of lose their charm and meaning)

Annnnnddd I don't remember how she actually met the rest party after that since we never got that far💀

But yeah that's about the gist of it

If I ever play dnd I would really want to reboot her character since I kind of think that she had an interesting concept.

It's an old anime about, you guessed it, ghost hunting! It's a little shippy with some main characters but I love it all in all. I just wanna find people who I can talk about this piece of art with that's such a huge part of my teenage time. Even if you haven't watched it you a GOTTA check it out.

I was already into the supernatural as a teen but this got me onto the ghost bandwagon more than anything else, one episode gave me a nightmare for a week and I still watch it. The music and sound effects still give me goosebumps and some spook scenes still put me on edge.

I just wanna nerd out with someone about this. Even better if I can find people who like supernatural themes and have their own OCS they like throwing at those kinds of situations. It's such a creative vein and so fun to play with. I'm even brewing my own homebrew for DND, 90s themed ghost hunting with themed equipment, specs, and building personalized maps from hand based off of real blueprints.

Doodle idea or general ask/prompt! I saw Our Flag Means Death as a fandom you’re into. How do you think Astarion or one of your OCs would look or function in that universe? Would they prefer Black Beard or Stede as a captain? What would their job on a pirate ship be? How would they dress?

What a beautiful prompt! I absolutely adore pirates and, fun fact, I've got an ongoing Black Sails fanfic on my ao3 🤭 kinda on hiatus due to BG3 brainrot but it's out there!

I'm gonna put up a trigger warning here for: discussion of abuse, prostitution and sadomasochism, and I'll put my reply under the cut (it turned out very long yet again).

P.S. OFMD friends I'm sorry this is showing up in your tags. To briefly explain we're talking about a crossover between OFMD and Baldur's Gate 3. Feel free to skip 🫶

I do think Astarion would prefer the old school Blackbeard as his captain, maybe Valeriy would also, but Veles would definitely prefer Stede. However, at the same time, with learning vulnerability being a big theme for all these characters, I think either captain would be fine for all three of them.

Tangent but I think Veles being in Stede's crew would help him so much with his feelings of inadequacy and his desperate need to be useful at any cost. Stede would show him that it's okay to just exist and be yourself.

I imagine Astarion and Valeriy would have followed Blackbeard until he meets Stede (where Veles would be) and then, just like in the show, Stede and Veles's side would teach Blackbeard, Astarion and Valeriy's side to be gentler, kinder and more vulnerable.

I can see Astarion, Valeriy and Veles being in a polycule in this AU but get this: Valeriy and Izzy. I'm obsessed with it now omg.

Fun fact: some of Valeriy's original backstory versions include him being a pirate. This never fit into the overall story/lore however, so I scrapped it.

I'll yap about this more later but let me tell you what I think each of them would do. First things first, I'm honestly not sure what Astarion would do, I don't think he'd be ranked too high, but I also don't think he'd be ranked too low. Somewhere in the middle imo.

Valeriy would be like Izzy's own right hand man and/or ranked just below Izzy. They have a similar ruthlessness to them.

Veles would be a master of navigation on Stede's ship I think.

I think I'll draw them in this AU actually, but I'll come back with that later.

I think Izzy and Valeriy in particular would work so well together because, just like Veles is distinctly a masochist due to his backstory, Valeriy is a sadist, except that Valeriy has a much healthier approach to his sadism than Veles has to his masochism. I've talked about this sm already but Veles's masochism transcends sex and he most certainly sees himself as an object. Valeriy is nothing like that, he's very careful, gentle and communicative if there's any sadomaso play going on, and he keeps it all in the bedroom.

I don't think I need to explain why Valeriy's sadism would work well with Izzy, OFMD fans have talked about it enough for me haha. But I wanna reiterate that I imagine it all being consensual and mindful, honestly very much unlike Astarion and Veles where at times it gets super messy due to them both being messed up in their own right.

How about how I imagine they became pirates? I mean it's a pretty simple answer. Historically it's pretty accurate, to my knowledge, that people on the margins of society escaped to become pirates. It checks out because Astarion, Veles and Valeriy are all a flavor of queer (bi, gay and pan in my hc). But also, all three of them have some type of abusers to run away from as well as an overall bad life situation (think Valeriy who's already escaped his father, but has only landed himself in prostitution instead. he'd like to leave that behind).

Random bit of a headcanon here, I think Veles would be a person of color in a non-magical AU, and I think that because of the racism towards drow analogy in DND. I'd probably completely redesign Veles for a non-magical AU, but all in its time.

I think Veles would be super cool with the rest of Stede's crew. He'd be very shy at first I think, but he'd find acceptance within the ranks.

I'm also thinking about, once the two crews join, Valeriy would really enjoy listening to Stede or Lucius read to him. Another fun fact: Valeriy reaaaally likes books, he simply can't read them on his own. Meanwhile I don't think he'd have many opportunities to be read to in Blackbeard's crew (this isn't an Ed is illiterate thing btw, this is an Ed has a reputation thing).

What was the inspiration for Oakley? 🧐 And what are tidbits about her that you wish to share or have been wanting to share about her?

She didn’t really have inspiration per se, but I wanted a character that wasn’t a sona. Then as I was thinking of personalities I thought that out of touch awkward apathetic voice personality type would be fun to portray, then she kinda took a life of her own. She ended up not liking being told what to do, was stubborn, and a little prone to trouble.

She still maintained her awkwardness in social situations tho! It’s just who she is lol. She turns into small creatures like bats or mice when she’s afraid or embarrassed, or simply to get out of talking. She finds it easier to connect with people when she doesn’t have to say anything.

In battle she turned into big cats, mostly like panthers (my fave) or a wolf. She also used her star circle powers to make her skin light up like galaxies to brighten up dark spaces. I really miss her play style in game she was so so fun 😫

OH! and I never even planned for her to become a warlock! It was a surprise to me too! But I’m so glad she did because it really added to her as a character lore and depth wise. She was determined to figure the mysteries of the valley (she wanted to contribute to the gang in some way 🥲) and ended up literally about to die on the floor with her friend sage (shout out @skele-fucker) and remembered a shadowy spirit that kept trying to get the others to do his bidding and called out to him in a moment of desperation and agreed to do what he wanted if he saved her and her friend. He did! And she woke up completely fine and now tasked with murdering some one and some sick sentient tattoo like tendrils that can leave her skin and look like snakes. (A WHOLE OTHER MIX OF THOUGHTS ON THIS)

her character could go so deep. I wanna do more stuff with her outside of dnd but dnd mechanics are so tasty. My poor starry baby now tainted with something very very dark. Like her relationship with this creepy shadow man? She owes him and wants to repay him, but the morality of it all was so interesting to me. AND HER OWN OERSONAL BACKSTORY. OWOWOAOWWOAOAOWOOSAAAAAA
