Reading Dungeon Meshi and....Horror would totally study ways to cook bigger beasts and probably hunts for them himself. Cross helps too, mainly with multi headed animals because he scares the shit out of them before using just plain brute force to beat the shit out of them(Because depending on the beast cutting off the head makes more heads)

Horror is very careful about his methods but overall would slice and dice something to bits, and harvest their babies to eat later too.
