I have two zodiac-based questions (but not horoscope explanations like you've been doing), the first is dependent on whether or not you've watched Fairy Tail. (I'll send a separate ask)
The second: if you were to assign ONE anime character to best exemplify the different zodiac signs, who would you pick? (Can be from any anime of your choice, and they don't all have to be from the same anime, but you can only pick ONE).
Alternatively you could pick two, but they have to be based on the month divide (social media tells me there's a different between June and July Cancers (and obviously the others, but we're in Cancer season lol)?).
Feel free to answer in your own time, or completely ignore it.
ALRIGHT! this has been such a fun task to complete and I cannot thank you enough for asking me such a thoughtful question. I really have pondered on this for days just to be certain I have it as right as I want it to be.
Aries: Akitaru Obi - Fire Force
reason: embodies most of the natural traits of Aries as a sign. motivated, hard working, friend and family oriented. willing to put in the work to get done what he needs to get done. he trains every day for this!
Taurus: Gon Freecss - HxH
reason: aside from being boy of All Time, Gon to me embodies everything a Taurean is at their best. loyal, digging their heels in when it matters the most, giving it all but also understanding the joy in laying on your back and watching the clouds roll by.
Gemini: Itachi Uchiha - Naruto
reason: literally the most stereotypical Gemini I can think of even down to his decision making processes. committed to the bit when he was ready to go all in, thought a lot about it before then, remains fluid in his decisions afterward although it comes from an altruistic and good place.
Cancer: Ichigo Kurosaki - Bleach
reason: truly every Cancer trait exists in this man in a way I've seen very seldom. he's loyal, emotional, compassionate, but he doesn't let it blind him and this is common for a lot of Cancer people once they can suss a situation out.
Leo: Bulma Briefs - DB/DBZ
reason: hot genius heiress and literally knows it. I feel like a simple look at her screams LEO so loudly I don't really need to explain.
Virgo: Kakashi Hatake - Naruto
reason: the first Virgo man to ever make me crazy gets to keep his title but mostly because of his internal thought processes. Kakashi's anxiety has been widely debated in fandom for many years but I've always firmly subscribed to the theory (and tbh fact if you read the manga but I digress) that is is wracked by it. he is loyal, he tends to be grounded but he questions himself. idk. just so Virgo it hurts down to this.
Libra: Joseph Joestar - JJBA
reason: please watch one episode of Battle Tendency to know more. I will not be defending this decision and you will come back to tell me I'm right.
Scorpio: L Lawliet - Death Note
reason: intelligent, intuitive, endearingly strange. he is the Scorpio pinkprint in the very best way.
Sagittarius: Asuka Langley-Soryu - NGE
reason: literally every Sagittarius stereotype exists in this lovely young woman and she does no wrong to me so it doesn't matter but she's brash, she's proud of herself, she gets done what she sets out to do.
Capricorn: Senku Ishigami - Dr. Stone
reason: work ethic alone. he is the most stereotypical Capricorn I can think of in any media depiction down to deep emotions and the way he views his comrades and the things he does for them to make a world they weren't meant to be in more comfortable for them. I LOVE U SENKU!!!
Aquarius: Suguru Geto - JJK
reason: even if he hadn't gone murderous over it, he is an Aquarius through and through, down to everything he does being for the whole rather than himself.
Pisces: Yuuta Okkotsu - JJK
reason: literally the Pisces stereotype. kind, compassionate, good to everyone, everyone eventually becomes family which is just sooooo deeply Piscean thanks to our ability to really tune in and be there for people. just so good. glad to be associated with him.

hi yinggg! really love how accurate and in-character your headcanons are ❣️❣️
your drawing hcs for goo and lua got me curious on what (kind of) anime would lookism characters be a fan of/won't stop talking about. i would like to know your thoughts about it. 🤗🤗
hope you have a nice day! 🫶🫶
Hello Hi ~~ Aaa tysm for your kind words!! I’m glad you like my HCs!! And your question is really interesting! 💕🌸
Since I already shared my HCs about Goo and Lua I’ll exclude them this time ~
Also I didn’t watch most of these Animes/ didn’t finish watching so I’m sorry if there’s anything wrong with it~
What Animes would Lookism characters watch
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Daniel
I feel like Daniel wouldn’t be too big of an Anime fan
probably watched some of the more popular ones (?)
Mostly watches ShounenAnime
One piece (he didn’t watch all of it only a few episodes)
Demon Slayer
Naruto
Bleach
HxH
Vasco
He watches Cartoons more than Anime but sometimes he also watches Anime
Pokemon Go
Detective Conan
Doraemon
Zack
The type who watches Sport Animes
Free!
Haikyuu
Baki the Grappler
and a lot of boxing Animes (I don’t know any though )
Mira and Zoe
Romance Anime, Shoujo, Ghibli Movies all the way~~~!!
They’ve watched Howls moving castle so many times
Kamisama kiss
Your lie in April
Ao Haru Ride
Oh and don’t forget Kimi ni Todoke
At this point I’m just kinda inserting my own favorite Animes 🌸
Johan
Maybe Horror/Psychological/Thriller Animes
The type who prefers to read manga
Junji Ito Collection
Perfect Blue
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Gun
Like Goo, a weeb
All kinds of Animes and he’s kind of just forgets about them after watching them once
BUT I like to think that Gun likes to watch „Yakzua to Househusband“ (I don’t know why it’s just funny to me)
Jake
Has similar taste to Daniel
watches only the popular stuff
Sword Art Online (even though everyone else in Big Deal dislike SAO Jake enjoys it a lot)
Alright ~ these are all of my HCs for now if there’s anything you’d like to add let me know! Once again tysm for the ask! ily and have a great day! 💖💕

ok so me and a gf have been watching through my hero academia and like, wow, i thought it was forgettable when i watched it while doped up on pain meds in the hospital but now i hate it
heeeere's rambles
but theres one thing thats honestly really minor that keeps bothering me. every character follows anime level logic where if youre a character designated 'strong' you're arbitrarily quick, strong, and durable to suit whatever flashy bs youre doing in a fight. very typical anime stuff
but see, in most shonen settings, they either explicitly or implicitly say that their midichlorians also give a boost to them even outside of flashy techniques. Naruto has chakra, hxh has nen and is the best, bleach has reiki, dbz has ki, one piece has haki, and so on.
but in mha there is this continual emphasis that your Quirk is everything, that it is the thing from which all your anime powers derive, and in the typical vein of superpowers you only have that one Thing that you can do and you just need to stretch it around.
but we get shit like eraserhead clowning on those goons and remaining conscious through fifteen concussions, bakugou keeping up with midoriya in close combat when midoriya's whole thing is a big all-around boost, we get people with powers that have no justification for making them able to dodge gunfire or whatever. it rankles
its not even as though this is, like, necessarily a sin-- i mean, hollywood action flicks dont go out of their way to say that john wick has a whole lot of Cinema Juice in his blood or whatever.
the problem is the tone, because mha constantly tries to look like everything that's going on is through creative applications of powers, clever interactions with real-world physics like air pressure or whatever, and it does all this in a world very similar to our own. biological quirk drawbacks similarly signal that this show is trying to be neat and clever like if you woke up with superpowers tomorrow you could do this stuff too and it would work the same as it does here. yet it still has these egregious moments where Eraserhead is doing TAS combat gymnastics or bakugou is able to keep up with midoriya even though explosive propulsion really only gets you so far or random villains with shooty Quirks can take absurd beatings or keep up with bakugou and co themselves.
and this show loooves exposition, voiceovers, and flashbacks. we get them constantly and they ruin any emotional moment by not allowing you to sit with it and actually feel what's happening. instead youre just told everything thats going on. but that also means that this problem of anime action heroing would be the absolute easiest thing to fix in the whole entire world.
just fucking say that when you train your Quirk a lot you also start getting an all-around boost. then extend that into the reason why Quirkless people never show up to super fights-- they literally can't keep up when even Eyestalk Man can move twice as fast and hit twice as hard.
and in turn play this into the whole Quirkless discrimination thing we hear about but never see-- the narrative is that Quirkless people are vestigial! they're primitive, weak, stupid, barely even people, not like *us*. Look at how much crime they do, even when none of them take the leap into calling themselves villains! se have scientific studies that say definitively quirkless people are worse at everything!
those studies are of course grossly misrepresented-- any 'Quirk Boost' only really starts to kick in around the Pro Hero level of training and dedication. a Quirkless mma fighter could still absolutely whoop the ass of a quirked rando on the street. the difference in the lives of the vast majority of the population between Quirked and Quirkless is negligible. Like, this one little thing can improve three whole huge glaring bald spots in the canon! it's so simple! it makes everything better! how did you not do this!

My problem with hxh fans’ reasoning for claiming that the 1999 anime is canon.
I do not understand why some people would believe that the 1999 version of hxh was so different from the manga because Togashi told the staff team about what to include for the 1999 adaptation.
Like why would anyone believe that stupid far-fetched claim??
If you don’t know what I’m talking about, killugon fans have claimed that the reason why there are so many gay hints in the 1999 version is because Togashi was the one who told the staff team to change some scenes that happened in his own manga and make them the way that they are now in the 1999 anime.
Why would he do that you ask? Because apparently, Togashi wanted to replace his own manga scenes with gay fanservice filler so that his fans can come to the conclusion that the main four will pretty much all end up together.
So here’s why this theory is bullshit:
Togashi is a perfectionist.
Why in the hell would Togashi, someone who is critically known to be a perfectionist that would literally not hire anyone else to make the story for him even if he has massive back pains, would willingly tell an animation team to go completely off the rails by altering the animated version of the story for him in order to make something different from what he originally worked and planned?????
Not only that, but you expect me to believe that Togashi helped them on the show while fully knowing that half of his own characters would get their personalities and character buildings shrewd in the process if he even altered one thing from his manga?????
This literally doesn’t make any sense.
Togashi said (on multiple occasions mind you) that he enjoys writing/drawing the series BY HIMSELF. HxH became a hobby for him at this point and so, he does it at his own pace.
He would NEVER in any situation, let someone else especially a TEAM change huge chunks of his series and replace it with pointless filler just to give out hints for the fans that their characters would canonically get together in the end.
Why???
Who thought of this “theory”????
I’m guessing that someone was curious enough to note that the 1999 looked nothing like the manga and 2011 one. Because of the huge differences, this person must’ve thought it was a good idea to severely speculate that there must’ve been some “weird” business going back in the day.
Like I said, I don’t know who the hell thought about this, but they were clearly overthinking this whole situation.
If anything, I can actually give you a much better reason as to why the 1999 version is so different from the manga and its reboot: old mangas adapted into anime used to have the same treatment as hxh. A lot of animes back in the day used to completely ignore the original material and just did whatever they wanted with the series they were working on.
A few examples like these are as follows:
Fullmetal Alchemist
Black Butler season 2
Deadman Wonderland
Bleach
Rurouni Kenshin
Sailor Moon (first adaptation)
It was completely normal at the time to take some few aspects of the manga and put it in the anime to make it look more independent and detached from its original source.
HxH was no different. It also suffered from that common practice.
So no, Togashi did not play a role in working or suggesting any ideas for the 1999 hxh anime. The only times he would actually do an effort in noticing hxh works based on his manga is if he’d promote these works or not (like how he promoted the first hxh movie Phantom Rouge by drawing the main antagonist of the movie Omokage in volume 0 as well as Killua, Kurapika and Gon promoting the movie themselves).
He had no part in anything anime related.
He only cares about his manga.
And for the love of god, please just stop listening to these kinds of people.

cw: tokyo revengers recent chap spoilers, talk of mental illness, depression, suicide mention, long post idk
so if you guys followed me from hxh, you probably know that i LOVE trope deconstruction, particularly deconstruction of the shonen genre
like shonen at its core is meant to be a male power fantasy, particularly traditional shonen, think dbz and bleach for example, and even naruto (which accidentally stumbled on more complex themes which i can probably discuss at some other time). this is again apparent with tokyo revengers - while a lot of fem-identifying people can enjoy this show for various reasons, on its face it's meant to be a shonen
there's a lot of recurring themes which we often joke about ie. friendship no jutsu to defeat enemies, friendship being elevated to soulmate levels, rivals to enemies, admiration through fighting, etc
like i think i've already discussed this, these are all great ideals for young boys, but they're again ideals!!!
which is why i love this new chapter
obviously i don't know what's in wakui's head, but to me he's making it very clear that takemichi is so extreme and because we're so used to these qualities being viewed as good, some of us are missing the point
in real life, it is impossible to save everybody.
not only is it impossible, in many times it is unreasonable, it's dangerous, and it's selfish.
takemichi has shown time and time again that his motivations are not well thought out and are less about actually increasing more good in the world vs making himself feel like he's increasing value to the world.
how? initially with his fixation with saving hinata, a girl he barely remembered to a fixation with proving he's not a loser (which is essentially the real guiding principle here) to saving mikey, which multiple timelines have demonstrated that despite not necessarily being impossible to save, HE cannot be the one to do it
tbh i was done with takemichi personally when he saw a future where everyone was doing well and risked it all to the expense of ALL his other friend's, HINATA, who was his initial supposed goal, and even HIMSELF.
and this is a recurrent theme. Takemichi is not serving others. he is serving himself. because if he were planning on serving others, there are times where he would have consulted with others to figure out the best mode of action
over and over again, takemichi has decided that the way to save mikey is to remove obstacles around him. kisaki's antics, baji and draken's deaths, etc. in that way, HE becomes the obstacle, and mikey who is in and of itself is a destructive force becomes far worse, which is why i dub him an enabler
(which begs the question, if kisaki wasn't so intent on killing hinata which is obviously bad, is he really the problem? isn't he essentially mikey's leash in the future? obviously this is complex so i won't delve into it further on this rant)
but basically the problem here is takemichi is needlessly and selfishly persistent. he doesn't understand mikey. he doesn't understand anyone else in this realm. he has a grandiose sense of his own self-importance. he ignores facts (what do you mean 'he almost killed me' when you've seen MULTIPLE timelines where he kills people he's known more than you?) and does not use resources well
he is stuck in his own head even though by all means he is the perfect shonen protagonist
never give up! do what you can! save everybody! leave no one behind!
but he's literally left everyone behind multiple times with his one track mind
it's not 100% him afflicted with this savior complex, baji and draken are complicit in the same nonsense
but it's annoying and i'm tired of seeing it and he deserves to get his ass beat
end rant.

Get to know me better meme:
Tagged by @dear-kumari (thanks for the tag!!)
Favorite color: black, red, purple; and I tend to go for silver, white, and gold for accents :)
Currently reading: ongoing series are Ao no Exorcist, Boruto, Spy x Family, Akatsuki no Yona (against all my better judgment at this point lmao), and D.Gray-man (like... 3-4 times a year when it updates T_T). Plus fanfic here and there, though I’ve become extremely picky about it.
Last series I watched: Hunter x Hunter (1999) -- almost done with it! I’ve been enjoying this version much more than I thought I would, thought it does leave a lot to be desired (esp the Greed Island arc OVAs >.>)
Last movie I watched: Ah. Hm. I can’t remember, if we’re talking non-animated movie. Animated movie would be the second HxH movie, The Last Mission. Super enjoyable, I gobbled up all the Hisoka & Kurapika crumbs it offered like my life depended on it XD
Currently working on: ... so much T___T  I’ve got a Winx Valtor/Bloom multichap fic plus six one-shots; a WITCH Phobos/Will post-comic series multichap fic plus a couple of Phobos/Will one-shots set in an alternate canon divergent timeline; a FFXIV post-Endwalker ZenosWoL multichap fic plus seven one-shots (featuring Zenos, WoL, Estinien, and Emet primarily); ten Hakuouki one-shots (Hijikata/Yukimura, but generally including the whole gang); two Hunter x Hunter one-shots (Hisoka & Kurapika; Hisoka, Kurapika, Illumi); eight Naruto one-shots (featuring an OC, Orochimaru, his snake family, etc.). And my Bleach longfic, which I really do want to finish. And now I’m contemplating a post-Shippuden through Boruto-Era Itachi-is-alive fic (: And that’s just the writing lmao. I have at least eighteen more FFXIV drawings and six HxH drawings I have planned out. I’m almost done styling Zenos’ wig, and I’m waiting for more hairspray to arrive so I can restyle Itachi’s bangs (I don’t like them X_X). OH, and maintaining my balcony garden through the summer heat!
(I tend to run around like a chipmunk chipping away at multiple things at once instead of focusing on one and finishing it before working on another, which is probably why I can never get things done and posted on a regular basis XD Though, if my brain would stop shoving new ideas down my throat, that would actually help a ton.)
Tagging @errantgoat, @baked-hylian, and @cruelfeline (only do it if you want!)

I'm sorry if you took offense at my question about shonens, it was a genuine question, because I thought someone of your age and experience would find the genre childish and predictable, like most other older manga/anime fans I know who strongly prefer seinens
And many things in stories (not just shonens) are tropey, formulaic, and predictable too, cause many ideas have already been written and done before (heck, even in tropey repeat fics) but that also doesn’t mean they’re bad either. Especially if they’re still emotionally engaging, interesting, and fun to follow along to see how each their stories end, and even especially so to fondly see certain characters grow/develop into stronger and wiser versions of themselves.
But the short answer is no, I don’t strongly prefer one ‘type’ of story over the other (cause I’ve tried and dropped many shonens and seinens alike over time that I don’t vibe with or have the energy to continue.) For example, after a certain point in their publishing, I dropped/stopped reading Bleach, One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul, and AoT all long before any of them ended. (And I chose never to get into Naruto either, despite even my sister recommending it and thinking I might like it too, like how she got me into fma and hxh back in the 00s.) So simply put, I rather read/share what catches my interest and stays enjoyable enough to emotionally invest in, and this can peter out or change thru phases (cause my previous blog wasn’t even anime/manga related, and there was a time in my past when I only read shoujos too).
Story preferences can vary of course (including from people who want to read and relate more to characters closer to their own ages) and the content varies wildly depending on different authors’ styles too. So all ‘shonens’ aren’t exactly the same; there’s many ways to spice up the familiar and comforting coming of age types of tales too. And behind the scenes, we get more spice from reading an even greater variety of stories to choose from (like shoujo, josei and seinens; it all depends on what you’re in the mood for, and sometimes the ‘familiar’ within shonen sticks). So overall I’d be more wary of other adults who write off or prematurely judge such stories as childish or not worth their time anymore (cause that’s tipping the line similar to stubborn adults set in their ways who think ‘anime is a cartoon so it must all be for kids~’ when oop;; there’s still much more to enjoy when approaching things with an open mind.) So I hope those adults you’ve seen are honest with what they like too (and aren’t trying to conform to appear ‘edgy’ or ‘cool’ by liking only seinens for example either) because once you’re old enough, none of those pretenses matter anymore; embrace what you like without shame.

For the ask meme: 001 for Hunter x Hunter; 002 for your beloved OTP, Ulquihime; 003 for Kurapika.
Thank you so much for asking!
001 | hxh
Favorite character: Meruem I just love redemption stories
Least Favorite character: Gayro’s dad or Kikyo or Rammot
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Merumugi, Kilugon, Leopika, Hisoilu, Idk
Character I find most attractive: Palm (couldn’t see that coming huh?)
Character I would marry: out of trainwrecks that are characters in this series only Leorio is marriable but he’s too young for me
Character I would be best friends with: Senritsu! She should be patient enough to deal with me
a random thought: what if Hisoka is pretending to be Leorio? (for fucks sake Togashi-sama plz come back or I’m going to lose my mind)
An unpopular opinion: hopeful part of chimera ants arc is so underrated
My Canon OTP: Merumugi and Hisoilu (anyone can fite me)
My Non-canon OTP: Kilugon I just don’t think it’s mutual :’(
Most Badass Character: Komugi don't even try to tell me "my life" moment wasn't the most metal shit
Most Epic Villain: I love them all but Meruem again
Pairing I am not a fan of: Kurokura I adore enemies to lovers but honestly I just can’t see situation when they come to mutual understanding which is my favorite part of this type of ship
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): Pokkle in meaning his death was mega fucked up if not character assassination
Favourite Friendship: Kilugon, Senritsu and Kura (the fact he probably pushed her away is making me sad)
Character I most identify with: none
Character I wish I could be: *insert obnoxious suicide joke*
002 | Ulqihime
When I started shipping them: around 2012 I saw fanarts on DA and become curious why they look like that and what is their story so I snooped in this trash can called Bleach
My thoughts: the point where their story ends is just a beginning, he just realized what she mean to him and she forgive the fuckery he just did (this is how I interpret "are you afraid?. As" can you forgive the horrible things I did? ") and it makes this relationship so interesting and sad. There's so many scenarios that you can play with. Also there's a lot to explore about their time together in LN since the unmasked confirmed what we saw aren't all of their interactions.
What makes me happy about them: They cared about each other and he, a being that is not supposed to /don't want to let himself have feelings, loved her
What makes me sad about them: he's dead and just evaporated from her memories, his death meant nothing for her character development (bc Kubo quote "likes her how she is" congrats man you just confirmed you don't know shit about writing) and she's just an incubator for next generation of this wank and not a character
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: using violence, taking shit Ulquiorra said to other arancars seriously, Orihime still being a damsel in distress, Ulquiorra using medical/scientific terminology but also him being totally ignorant of human world
Things I look for in fanfic: I hadn't read fanfics in years tbh and around 2014 I read pretty much everything on ff.org and most of ao3 so at that point existing was everything I was looking for
My wishlist: Ulquiorra getting killed by zanpaktou so he can be reborn and meet her again / being healed by Orihime who makes her own decisions and stopped giving fuck/Orihime actually remember him, says his name instead of vague "I don't want to see any more arancars die" shit/ Ulquiorra coming back to roast the cursed outfit ("surprisingly it doesn't suit you" please i would fucking die)
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Ishida for Hime I'm chill with this paring it's cute and shippers smoke far less crack, death for Ulqui
My happily ever after for them: just learning about and supporting each other and also acting silly
003 | Kura
How I feel about this character: making the cool analitical character extremely emotionally unstable is very interesting idea. His feelings are justified but his actions especially toward his friends aren't. Tho I like how realistic pushing friends away from himself is and how all his trauma and problems does not go away just because he has friends who can use talk no jutsu to make him turn 180° and just stop his auto destruction like that.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Leorio, queen Oito lately bc when she said she doesn't care about him my monkey brain went "oh boi what if she starts caring and it'll be sad" so it can also go non-romantically idc just make me cry Togashi-sama!
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Wobble
My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't like mamapika to Gon too much
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: not die? Is this too much?
Favorite friendship for this character: Senritsu
My crossover ship: with good shouting from Elliott Nightray

hmm what animes have you watched? i've watched a fair amount, but only like a couple stick out in my head where i go "oh you should watch this!" ya know? personal favorites are like haikyuu, bleach, toilet bound, fullmetal alchemist, hxh and seraph of the end- but theres a lot that i really enjoyed! like demon slayer, banana fish (;-;), ranma 1/2 and ouran host club- what about you? - suuni <3
Ooooh. Id like to say ive seen a fair amount as well, but i grew up in a household that didnt really get the appeal of it so I got a pretty late start lolol so i was like 11 watching FullMetal and Naruto and Sailor Moon and One Piece and Fairy Tail at like the same time (cause I have a hard time concentrating on one thing oops) but like, Blue Exorcist I really enjoyed, Ouran Hisghschool and Maid Sama are some comfort shows of mine. Soul Eater I thought was well done, Haikyuu has become a favorite, K-On was cute, i watched all but the new season of 7 deadly sins cause my brother liked it. I loved HunterXHunter!! Another big warning for huge paragraphs of texts that I rambled in. But thank you so much for the ask. ❤
9. Favorite anime child
Interesting question! My favorite would have to be Zenko from One Punch Man, off the top of my head. ❤ I really like Child Emperor and Tareo, too. Hm...who else... Oh! Tenga from Mob Psycho!! 💓 There's also Mob of course, Tome, MUSASHI, and all the Body Improvement Club. So many good kids in that series. There's also Gon and Killua. I do love those two.
15. Anime you never get sick of watching
I would have to say One Punch Man, honestly. I never ever get tired of watching it over and over again. It's one of those series that I will see a million times over and I will still laugh so hard and get too excited over scenes and characters, even if I basically memorized the whole series at this point. 😌❤ And I guess I should say Hunter x Hunter? I'll rewatch episodes/scenes with Shoot and Knuckle whenever I have the need to see and hear them again. I do enjoy watching hxh as a whole though. And for nostalgia, I'll go with Pokemon. ❤
16. Ten best animes you have watched
One Punch Man - About a year ago from now, back last November, I found this series at the most perfect time. I actually got into OPM as a senior in high school, but I only watched the first episode and accidentally lost it for years after I graduated, and that was...four years ago? A friend at the time introduced me to it, but I literally just...lost it by accident. It wasn't until I saw this specific panel of Metal Bat in a tumblr post with Kenshiro and other characters (who I will recognize now right off the bat!!) that made me rediscover it! ❤
Tumblr media
Which is absolutely crazy to think about now. I cannot believe seeing Badd helped me find my favorite show again after losing it, and now I will keep it in my heart forever. I just love this series too much. Just...so many great things associated with this series makes me love it even more, too. A few big things being that I found my best friend through it, and I have gotten so much better physically and creatively through my art. ❤❤❤ So...a huge thanks to a character I instantly loved without even knowing who he was, and a character I absolutely adore.
Hunter x Hunter - This series was something that...I really did not realize how much I was going to love it. I just took a chance and watched it back in March, and now it is one of the best things I have in my life. It's up there with One Punch Man with how special it is to me. ❤ And of course...it's so special to me because I found someone like Shoot in it, along with so many other good characters. I know I constantly talk about Shoot, but he really does help me everyday, I would never be able to explain properly. I feel like this series as a whole, along with Shoot, were things I didn't know that I needed in my life, and I could not have found them at a more perfect time.
Fist of the North Star - This is actually the first anime I ever watched as an adult, if you don't count Dragon Ball like most people do? But I would have never heard of this series if it wasn't for Joel from Vinesauce. He talked about it so much that I told myself "I have to check this out." Literally loved it to death by the first episode. It got me hooked instantly. This series actually made me incredibly emotional, I just loved Kenshiro so much. If it wasn't for this series, I wouldn't have wanted to get into anything else! This helped me find my way to OPM and JoJo and everything else, especially all of the old stuff. (I just love 80s and 90s anime too much! But that's been a given ever since I was a baby. ❤)
Mob Psycho 100 - After getting into One Punch Man, I for sure wanted to get into Mob Psycho. I knew that I was going to love it before I even thought about watching and reading it, and I did. I absolutely love it. Seriously, what a fantastic series.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Another series that Joel encouraged me to get into because he talked about it so much. It really got me curious, especially while watching his old streams playing Eyes Of Heaven and the old JoJo RPG, playthroughs which I love a lot but had no idea what was happening back then. (After watching the show I'd rewatch them and just be like !!!!! I love it even more now I understand! LOL) I remember last December just watching Part 1, 2, and the beginning of 3 all from my phone since I was without a computer for months. A very happy memory. Then I spent the beginning of this year watching Part 3 and 4, and I absolutely loved it. The whole series is so fun to watch. It really was an adventure. ❤ I still need to watch Part 5! I just haven't gotten around to it.
Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z - (Both of these go in their own spot together!) The Dragon Ball series is really first series I ever fully got into, along with the only anime I've ever watched completely. (A lot of people don't count DB as an actual anime since it's in the same category as Sailor Moon and Pokemon? But anyway) I associate the series with the summer of 2017 because I really wanted to get into it after so many years, and my friend was nice enough to lend me his account to watch it all the way through. Stayed up all day and night the entire summer break from college to watch it, I was so exhausted during that year. It brings back good memories though. 💓
Cowboy Bebop - Bebop holds a special place in my heart because it is just such a good series, but also because of my significant other. Corin absolutely adores Cowboy Bebop. He loves Spike, he loves Steve Blum, and he loves the entire series on its own. I have such good memories of just lounging around at his house and watching it.
One Piece - Even though I have a long way to go until I catch up to nine hundred episodes (!!!) I adore One Piece. 💓 I got attached to the main crew right away, and I love the story! So, so good.
Bleach - Another series I have good memories with because of Corin. We would watch it over at his house whenever I started getting into different anime last year, and just stay up late cuddled up to the tv together with it. I enjoy the series! It makes me think of what I missed out on in the 2000s growing up, but I'm happy I get to watch all of these now as an adult. It's really nice.
Initial D - Okay, the reason I put this on the list is because I absolutely love older anime. But I really do like Initial D a lot. It's something I'll watch on and off whenever I'm sleepy and need something on tv to relax to. It's a lot of fun to watch. I'm pretty sure I've fallen asleep watching episodes before.
(Honorable mentions are Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, City Hunter, and so many more older ones that I really need to finish watching from the beginning.)
