Finished my umpteenth Arcane rewatch ( it’s 100% above 30 now but I lost count around 25 about a year and a half ago ) anyway so here’s some character headcanons.

Vi realized she was a lesbian due to developing a crush on an older girl in a gang when she was younger and 100% adopted some of her stylistic influences.

Caitlyn due to her sheltered upbringing didn’t realize she was a lesbian until she was older.

Mel’s father taught her how to paint.

Sevika was the powder of Vander and Silco’s group growing up.

Silco had the statue of Vander erected.

Smoking originally became a symbol of power in the undercity cause younger Vander nabbed a pipe off of an enforcer.

Jinx tried to play her and Vi’s monster game to try and chase the hallucinations of Mylo and Claggor away the first few weeks after getting taken in by Silco.

Xemina Talis started calling both Jayce and Viktor her boys whenever anyone asked about them after like the 4th family function Jayce brought Viktor along too. She’s never outright asked if Viktor has any living family but his near nostalgic expression as he observes from the sidelines is answer enough for her.

Jayce and Viktor talked a lot after their hextech discovery but as the council debated about letting it continue they talked a little less until Jayce sent Viktor a new cane he built to replace the one that broke with a note asking to meet him for dinner.

Caitlyn and Jayce consider themselves siblings and started to correct any idiot that thinks otherwise in a lie about how they’re biological siblings that has become more and more elaborate by the year. Cassandra thinks it’s stupid but goes along with it, Tobias thinks it’s the funniest thing ever and joins in every now and then to add another incredibly elaborate lie or two.

Cassandra and Tobias are both trans and supported eachother through their transitions, going as far to delay their wedding so Cassandra could find the perfect dress and Tobias could get the perfect tux.

Viktor is bi and after a rousing game of never have I ever between he and Jayce admitted to having actively dated more than 30% of Piltover academy’s student body.

Jayce drunkenly admitted that he is also bi and has dated exactly three people in his lifetime.

He also found out that night that he and Viktor have three mutual exes.

Caitlyn likes writing love poems.

Ambessa came to Piltover not only for weapons but because after finding out about her son’s death her stomach dropped thinking about Mel in danger.

Silco loves the opera and once when he was younger successfully snuck into one.

Ekko personally painted the portion of the mural of Benzo, Vander and his friends.

Ekko and Jinx have had a running contest of who can tag more of the city since they were kids Ekko thought the game had ended until he started seeing Jinx’s pink and blue monkey everywhere he started tagging the green hourglass back.

I think the most prominent pattern here is that I definitely have a strong preference for opening "with two feet down", as my high school mentor and creative-writing teacher put it. Not necessarily in medias res, though I do love doing that--but immediately grounded, placing the reader IN the scene from the first sentence.

As such a lot of these involve sensory details, an immediate touchstone for the character's physical location or surroundings, or both. The worst thing you can do for immersion is have your reader spend several hundred words either unable to picture the characters in context, or THINKING they're picturing the context correctly and then out of the blue dropping that they're actually somewhere completely different.

(Unless you're deliberately misleading the reader in order to deliver a punchline, obviously, but I think that should go without saying.)

I also tend to make my opening lines direct and to the point, and rarely open a fic with a full paragraph. In order to give the reader that sense of standing on solid ground--essentially of "landing with two feet down," falling into the fic and looking around to see where they are--you gotta give that opening line a little room to breathe.

The only exceptions on this list are 4, 9, and 10, and honestly, only 9 really counts!

-> The structure of 257 Years is an epistolary fic, so it actually IS serving as that immediate sensory grounding--It's establishing from the very beginning the sense that you are, in-universe, picking up a book and opening it to the front page.

-> Shadows & Goldclover is my fun little Tess/Lorna porn, and the setup is in fact that Tess is startling her in the garden. So the initial brief disorientation (I do immediately give some setting details in the next paragraph) is exactly the sensory experience I want my readers to have, it puts them in the same headspace as Lorna

-> Unkindness Of Ravens is, genuinely, one of the best stories I've ever written and I hope people are willing to give it a chance even if they're not really asscreed people--it stands on its own just fine as an exploration of fictional Norse queerness. And in that case, the deliberate sense of....an unmoored, vague, disoriented lack of any solid physical setting, is exactly what I was going for! It's a prophetic vision; it should feel otherworldly. I deliberately avoid giving the reader ANY solid ground until after the scenebreak..at which point they are IMMEDIATELY given sensory details and a place name, because the whole thematic point of the fic is Valka being brought in from the cold and finding acceptance, security, and a place to belong.

Hi, recently found this page in these trying times and I'm so grateful for it. I love league Viktor, specifically 2016 but I'm finding 2011 Viktor just as enjoyable. With Arcane season 2 now fully out and the whole arcane is canon thing , I got so worried everything would just be gone for the league versions of Viktor that I physically summarized (it was still seven full pages) both 2011 and 2016 biographys for Viktor. So finding this has been really cool! And if you wouldn't mind, how do you think one should go about tagging say fics or fanart with 2011/2016 Viktor? I'm planning on using the year and then clarifying that its not arcane Viktor but I overthink and my brain has convinced me that's not going to cut it. BUT ANYWAY I LOVE JUST SCROLLING AND SEEING ALL THE VIKTORS HERE THANK YOU <3

Hey, thanks for stopping by! Like you, I threw myself into a project to ease my own worry of losing everything in the post-arcane depths lol. It’s really interesting how most game viktor fans I've seen do not care for arcane but the arcane merger is going through for the sake of …? appealing to tv show fans who are never gonna touch the game because they think we’re sweaty? idk. but i digress.

In terms of tagging I really don’t have a clear cut answer for you, unfortunately. I’m being 100% here when I say the worst part about arcane viktor in terms of his impact on the fan ecosystem is that he doesn’t have a last name — at least with Jayce, one could tag Jayce Talis vs Jayce “”Giopara”” in order to differentiate their arcane/2016 iterations, and the fandom more-or-less stuck to that etiquette. Viktor is a mess however because you can’t even try and tag “league of legends” because arcane fans will also use the league tag because arcane is a league show. and can’t use “the machine herald” because that’s his title, and they’re posting about viktor, aren’t they? not to mention…. whatever that was we just got. so viktor is especially difficult in terms of finding a tagging system that everyone will intuitively pick up and continue to use properly so that our spaces can be separate. 

Sorry that ended up being more of a complaint tangent than an answer, but I think the year and the “not arcane viktor” addendum is good and clear to communicate your intentions. In terms of other lore fans being able to find it, i think the best thing we can do as a fancommunity is to build these strong mutual chains and amplify each others’ creations. you know, blaze it the old fashioned way. despite not having a strong tagging system, the viktorsphere on twitter was able to survive (pre-arcane at least) just by rt-ing each other’s stuff and replying to each other so I hope we can find a way to maintain something like that in the aftermath... and of course, you can always tag me and i'll bump the new stuff to the top of the queue 👍

Favorite Fics:

1. anatomy of a haunted heart - DA: Awakening, Nathaniel/Velanna, time loops and haunted houses

I really challenged myself to do this fic, I'm terrified of writing long fics on a deadline, but I wanted to do something different. I fell in love with both Velanna and Nathaniel while writing this fic, and I tried really hard to match up to the vision I had in my head--while that vision wasn't super clear, and I'm not sure if this did match up, I'm really happy with how it ended up!!

2. four and twenty blackbirds - Dishonored, Corvo/Granny Rags, a love letter to Granny Rags

This is another fic I got weird with, I wrote this for an exchange, and I was originally going to write Geoff Curnow/Corvo, but then Granny Rags took over my entire brain. She's just so interesting and the fic kind of got away from me. I had so much fun putting this together!

3. cut down at the garden's gate - Dragon Age 2, Hawke/Sebastian, political marriage forces you to confront your feelings for your ex, more at 11

Again, this was a challenge, and I do love how this ended up. There are sections I might rewrite, but I was really proud of finishing on a deadline (despite many issues I had with continuity haha, I'm not much of a multichap writer so even 3 chapters was tricky for me!) I think I wrote this in a rush, but I think otherwise I never would have finished this story, and I really wanted to finish and share it.

New Things I Tried: Time-based challenges! i.e. a DA Big Bang, and the WIP Big Bang... And I tried DADWC and really ended up liking it!! I think it did a lot to help me learn how to write without judgment and just get a story or concept out, and I used a lot of what I wrote and learned from DADWC as inspiration to write or finish larger stories.

Fic I Spent the Most Time On: dead winter in the forgotten land (Dragon Age), this was like two years in the making lol

Fic I Spent the Least Time On: I think savior complex (THG); I wrote it as a pinch-hit for a Hunger Games exchange, which was super fun!

Favorite Things I Read: I read so much amazing stuff this year but here are 3 that come to mind:

dirt romantic by rowanisawriter (@rowanisawriter) GUYS this fic... Peak romance, peak Zevran, the relationship between Zevran and a Cousland Warden is one of pining and differences in status and constantly shifting boundaries and Rowan writes that perfectly. Please read this and come be ill about Zevran with me....

Eat, Drink, Poison by elo_elo (@junkbabelna): This is a Cullen/Trevelyan modern AU--I aspire to write modern AUs like theirs, I love the details and the atmosphere so much. I think that they have such a knack for just getting to the heart of a character and what shaped them that way!!

a soft place to fall by petruchio (@petruchio): This was a gorgeous fic about Johanna coming back to District 12 after the war, I really love the way her recovery is portrayed and how all of the characters are struggling to adapt to a life that's in their control.

Biggest Surprises: I think that I’m capable of writing longer pieces? I was flying blind for both the longer pieces I did on deadline and somehow finished on time. I reread "anatomy of a haunted heart" the other day and I still can't believe I did that, lol. It was very scary, but I'm proud of it.

What I Learned: To keep writing when I'm feeling discouraged, sometimes I write a piece and I think it's mediocre, but when I go back and compare it to things I had written before, there is definitely growth there. I've been rereading what I wrote this year since I was feeling like I was rushing through pieces and they weren't as good, but I was really proud of some of the works I put out! So I guess I've had to keep in mind that I'm always changing, even if that's not evident at all times.

What I Want to Write Next Year: I want to try writing horror--I think that would be a real challenge for me, but I love reading it. I want to do more outlined/planned out fics. I want to finish at least 3 of my WIPs: my arranged marriage AU, the last part to a Bollywood series i posted, and my post-destroy fic!

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has read, commented on, and supported my writing--I would not have written without y'all, and I'm so happy to have found this community of people who also feel that writing and reading are necessary to them!! It makes writing so much more fun, I'm really grateful to have you 💕💕

When did you start writing?

I did a little bit of writing in high school ( and it’s funny bc the thing I remember the most was my original vampire fiction lolol) but I didn’t start back to writing again until I was almost 3 whole decades old ;u;

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

Horror, maybe? I could definitely write it bc I love that shit but just haven’t yet (also enjoy reading some AA fics but could never write one!)

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

Stephen King is my most favorite writer, but no one’s ever compared me to any writer, really. I’ve done a ‘who do you write like?’ thing recently and got Neil Gaiman and I’ll definitely take it! (American Gods, my beloved)

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

Well mostly from the couch, but currently (and not uncommonly) I’m laying in bed with a huge heating pad on and writing on my phone so don’t be like me 😂 (also enjoy taking my laptop outside under the porch on nice cool evenings or during rain/storms)

What’s your most effective way to muster up a muse?

Instrumental music truly is my muse —I’m obsessed with each and every song on this instrumental playlist rn — so much inspiration comes from these songs!

(Also lighting a lovely candle or catching a good rain/snow/thunderstorm or simply thinking about Astarion/Tali lol)

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

Celestial references, self deprecation and the theme of Endlessness… which makes a lot of sense for my current story lol.

What is your reason for writing?

I have a story to tell and it must be told!

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

God… ANY comment at ALL is motivating! It can be a heart or a smiley face… doesn’t matter — as long as it’s nice it’s motivating! (And thank you so much to @vixstarria and @tragedybunny for leaving such lovely comments ilu two!)

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

I just want people to feel the big feelings that I do when I write! I want them to laugh and feel happy/sad/contemplative and immersed— and sometimes even feel horny as a treat lol. I just hope that people think of my writing fondly!

How do you feel about your own writing?

Well, sometimes I love it — other times I hate it. Ultimately it is what it is, and it’s my own — and that’s good enough.

When you write, are you influenced by what others enjoy might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?

Probably a bit of both tbh!

Mass Effect Trilogy Tag

I am a fan since: 2017, I got it for Christmas in 2016 so I always just say '17

Favorite Game of the series: By virtue of simply replaying it the most, three. I really love the combat in it so I've played it near thirty times? But all time fave would have to 1 because of the aesthetic, tone, and story. There's something about first discovering a world which is what me1 is about.

MShep or Femshep? Gotta go with Femshep. I have played both, its just hard to capture the male shepard image I have in my head in the character creator so Femshep it is.

Earthborn, Colonist, or Spacer: earthborn! My main Shepard Jenn is earthborn so that's what I'm going with. Though, I have numerous Shepard's are various background combinations. I have feelings about each background trust me

Biotics or tech: Both! Though I really do love biotics, you can do some cool stuff with them, setting up and detonating both biotic and tech explosions.

Paragon or Renegade: I have to repeat what nowandthane said, paragon choices, renegade dialogue.

Favorite Class: Sentinel. I love the versatility of the class, but I do have an affection for Infiltrator because that's what got me through me2 on insanity.

Favorite Companion: Tali. By story value, Javik. He's like one of the most important characters

Least Favorite Companion: Javik, throw your attitude out the airlock. IM JOKING! (he has every reason to be like he is. I love him very much) Liara is my answer though only because I don't like some of the story choices the devs did with her. (ex: why does she have Shepard's armor in a display case when i didn't even romance her??? I can't mention this at all??)

My squad selection: For Jenn's playthrough: Wrex/Tali in me1. Garrus/Mordin/Miranda generally in me2. Thane and Miranda/Samara for the collector base. Kaidan/Javik/James in me3. Of course, I mix it up based on story aspects and the difficulty settings. But me3 is pretty fixed bc I always play on insanity.

Favorite in-game Romance: Tali and Garrus. I'm a sucker for awkward, wet cat of a man like Garrus is. But Tali's romance man.... her parting line to Shepard during the beam run "I have a home" makes me insane actually

Other pairings I like: Obligatory Nihlus/Shepard/Kal (and the duos within in this throuple) mention here. Other than that, Joker/Miranda and Joker/James, Ashley/Garrus, and Shepard/Wrex, I could list a whole lot so I'll keep it to those ships lol

Favorite NPC: Nihlus and Kal'Reegar for sure. Victus and of course Niftu Cal our favorite biotic god.

Favorite Antagonist: Saren. He's the best one that we get in all three games (Harby could have been number one if they did anything with him in three but that's a rant for another time lmao)

Favorite Mission: Haestrom/Tali's Loyalty mission because that's when I get to see Kal <3 and blow up a colossus with the Cain. Also, the Collector Ship mission I have to mention because it's frankly the only mission besides the two previously stated where I've loaded up the save to play it on insanity when I'm bored. It's fun. Of course, this is with the Infiltrator.

Favorite Loyalty Mission: Tali for numerous reasons. Kal mention here. But I love the insight into Quarian culture we get. Also we see that fire in her when she's talking to the Board which I always appreciate. Along with her dialogue at the end, "I got better, Shepard. I got you." and then on the ship afterwards, "I don't think life is about what we deserve." I love her so much.

Favorite DLC: Leviathan. Only because of the horror aspect.

Control, Sythesis, or Destroy? Destroy. I have so many issues with the ending and that's the least worst option in my opinion so. (I too ignore that it wipes out the Geth and Edi fuck that)

Favorite Weapon: The M-90 Cain or the M-99 Saber aka the "Big Iron". Lancer in three was my favorite weapon before I found the Saber. Special mention to my bud the Mattock, I have been convinced of its glory. I do not think the Harrier is better anymore lol which my brother would be happy to hear

Favorite Place: me1 Citadel my BELOVED.

A quote I like Quotes I Like: The ENTIRETY of Sovereign's dialogue on Virmire GOD ITS SO GOOD!!!! / "Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer." / "Does this unit have a soul?" / "Just followed your example, Shepard. Garrus (could be Tali, but I don’t think she’s been present for all of it in ME2 [project overlord] and ME3 [Grissom Academy], consult the timeline) freaks out a little

Kaidan is like: yeah, I kinda agree, but Shepard is gonna do Shepard things.

He’s also processing all the new info like: wow…

He loves/hates her courage 

Perhaps Legion’s comments that they wouldn’t endanger Shepard.

G to K: “Aren’t you gonna say a fucking thing about this!?”

K to G: “What do you want me to say? I have no power to stop her from being that way. I’m a mere spectator here. Just doing my best to process everything while helping.”

G to K: Thanks for the help man.

G: I’m more affected: after all these years of suicide plans and all the Cerberus shit.

S to G: I appreciate the sentiment, Garrus, but I’m fine, as you can see.

Kaidan leaves them arguing and talks to Legion for a while -> last oportunity

Shepard picks Garrus on the mission because she wants to prove him wrong, but then she cannot help herself and adds Kaidan to the squad -> She sends him as leader of the 3rd mission because she’s kinda mad that he’s right -> back to back missions (just as they did with Cerberus) -> so the order is Korris/Geth dream/Filler mission

MOST ACTIVE MUSES: James. It's impressive how he just refuses to die, regardless of my opinions and feelings about rwby or how other series tempt me. Jayce Talis/Giopara has good chances to beat Jimbo one day, but I've got stuck working on nearly-ready multimuse blog again. He can't win this race if he can't even get started 😂

EXPERIENCE: I don't even remember when I started role-playing. Surely as teen, table-top and some chats at first, forums, then a friend showed me Tumblr in 2017 and here we are.

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT: Angst. Fluff as comfort because hurt & comfort are the ultimate jam. Both angst and fluff needs some balancing, as writing either too often is just taxing. Forget I'll ever write smut. Fade to black is best I can give you and going to that point already requires a lot of chemistry between muses and communication between muns. Also, hear me out - crack! XD Let muses be silly, a little crazy, write some wild shit! It's fun!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Short. 2-3 paragraphs is most common for me, but I go with the flow. I'm aiming to give 2 para as minimum, but if I'm inspired or there's a lot of stirring in muse's head or emotions, I might write much more.

PET PEEVES: Worst pet peeve - untagged p0rn. I check Tumblr sometimes at breaks at work and I really don't want to see that kind of content. I never want to, but being in random public places adds an extra uncomfortable layer to it. Content warnings are there for a reason, use it! At least text is easy to scroll through but pictures... Ugh. (It's rare on rp space these days, luckily <3 But "for you" tab became a gamble after Arcane...) Otherwise... I really don't like seeing too many posts that aren't rp-related and I feel easily overwhelmed by blogs that post a lot daily. Extra grateful if they use tag system allowing me to block posts outside my interest from viewing. Makes it much easier to scroll and for my brain to handle. Kudos for all muns who do that <3 Also something I think mostly went away, but putting aesthetics over accessibility is awful. No point in engaging with blogs with posts I can't read (eg. too small text, too fancy fonts, extra spacing that goes ham, too high contrast that isn't black-white or too low contrast background-text). Really glad that I don't see this trend anymore ^^

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE: I wouldn't say so. There surely are some aspects that I draw from my own experience, but I mostly rely on instinct and observation. If anything, I started writing James much softer as my rebellion against vol8 bullshit and sometimes I'm worried I'm giving him too much of my sensitive nature.

TIME TO WRITE: I like writing during the day, which is a bit of a problem since I work regular full-time hours and so my most productive time goes into the animation. Then I have a lot of hobbies and other tasks for my evenings, so it comes rather random if I'd have time and inspiration to write replies or not.

Do you write crossovers?

I haven't yet! That doesn't mean I won't ever, but I haven't had any ideas that scratch the brain real good.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Not really. One time someone did come in to correct my usage of an incorrect homophone (or homonym? I'm not fucking looking up what's what right now) and said literally nothing else, so that was cool. Didn't care for that.

Do you write smut?

Uuuuuuuhhh not really. I have in the past, but it's not one of my strengths. I get terribly embarrassed while I write it (hello religious trauma and shame I'm still unlearning). I do write things slightly to the left of smut pretty frequently.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have not. I think that would be fun, but I am a very off and on writer, so that could make working with another person difficult.

What's your all time favorite ship?

Oh isn't this just the most difficult question for me.

Obviously, we have Zaeed/Shepard, Tali/Shepard, Thane/Shepard, Blackwall/Inquisitor. I'll stop there because I will list so many because I love characters.

What's a WIP that you want to finish don't think you ever will?

I really want to finish Devil Like Me but I started over thinking it and now I've lost the plot. I probably just need to start over.

What are your writing strengths?

Character voice, dialogue, and very strong emotional beats through the use of descriptive metaphor, paced punctuation, and repetition. It's one of my most favorite things to write.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Writing.action.

Ug, I fucking hate it. I'm also terrible at planning and editing. Far too much ADHD for either of those things.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I have done it but I am mostly monolingual so it's not something I make a habit of it.

I will use phrases and words from in universe languages. I play around with elven and qunlat a lot.

What's the first fandom you wrote for?

That I posted? Dragon Age. But when I was like 11 or 12 I wrote some Lord of the Rings fic in a notebook and then I threw it away because I was embarrassed by it.

14: I don't find any of the characters overrated?? The ones that are very mid are not very popular (looks directly at Jacob) so I can't say there are any that get too much love.

15: Mordin and Legion but I am incredibly bias. I always felt I like Mordin more than Shepard likes Mordin which is a damn shame. Other MASSIVELY underrated character as a whole tho is Aethyta. I actually had a bug in my last playthrough where she just... never spawned on the Citadel which means I completely missed out on tying up the strings of that storyline which I am very annoyed about. Oh ALSO an underrated character is Bray!

Hmm. For the most part, I've been pretty evenly writing for both X-Files and NCIS. Usually if there's multiple of the same one in a row, they're connected. They're all pretty much just general statements lol, only one starts with dialogue. I guess I just like throwing the reader right into the action. I wasn't sure I'd have 10 different fics to include since the last time I did this challenge, but I had plenty I think, and more I could have used. I don't think I've ever written this much so quickly in all my days of fandom.

So I wasn't actually tagged by @cour5t in this, but I was tagged by @rosewinterborn in a very similar game, so I'm stealing the first and pretending it's the second, since the second had a few questions that didn't apply to me x)

Last song: I'm gonna do the last song I've had on repeat for this!

Favorite color: I never know what to say for this. Black? Dark red? Dark purple? Dark green? That whole colour palette is the bomb dot com.

Last movie/show: The last movie I watched that was new was Nimona! It was fantastic, 10/10 lives up to the hype. The last show I finished was Reacher. It was okay.

Next on my watchlist: I've finally started watching Criminal Minds, but I'm already kind of burning out on it midway through season two. And there's still like 300 episodes left. Ridic. I should probably catch up on Foundation and For All Mankind. Next movie is the cartoon version of Mulan!

Last game: Prey! I did a replay of Doom 3 a while ago and mused that the horror story-game genre should be revived, and then on a whim I decided to play Prey without knowing anything about it. And it's the exact kind of game I was talking about. It's pretty good.

Last book: Rebirth of the Sigil by Peri Akman. It was disappointing. :/ Especially since I know what the author is otherwise capable of. I had the same thing happen with John Gwynne recently as well.

Sweet/savory/spicy: Savory, I think? I don't have an instinctive sense of what savory is. Google says it's a meaty taste, and I rely heavily on protein, so I guess that. I have a pretty low tolerance for sweetness despite liking sodas and such. I don't like most desserts or can only eat a tiny amount. Spicy is alright but my digestive system disagrees.

Relationship status: *vague gesturing*

Last thing I searched online: The hours for my pharmacy to see if it was too late to pick up my medication.

Current obsession: I am generally not an obsessive person when it comes to, like, interests and activities. But I am an obsessive person when it comes to thoughts and emotions. Lately I've been struggling a lot with thinking about eternity. It has not been fun. On a lighter note, I have also been thinking more regularly about writing. Perhaps someday that will translate into action!

Greatest flaw: How much time do you have? This is actually something I have difficulty answering, because the line between something forced upon me and something that is actually inherent to me is blurred a lot of the time.

I think I'd say how I behave when I'm spiraling mentally. I close off and disappear from almost everyone in my life. Occasionally I can keep up appearances with one group but not the rest, but by and large I become a ghost. When I am in a conversation during those cycles, it's crazy how badly I'm affected. I don't become cruel or mean toward others, but my speech becomes jilted, I can't make eye contact, and I am just devastatingly hateful against myself.

It's partly why I isolate, so that I don't have to expose others to that behaviour. It happens on a yearly basis though, and it can last for weeks at a time, so it has a pretty negative impact on my relationships. I also have no idea how to navigate being in one of those moods while part of a relationship where daily contact is an expectation. When I was part of a romantic relationship, instead of having one big prolonged dip, I would fade in and out of it. A couple weeks good, a couple days bad. Rinse and repeat. Awful. Terrible. Annoying. There's almost no predicting when it'll happen either.

Fic I’m currently reading: I rarely read fics because I have no patience for wading through wish fulfillment, horny writing, and "He would not fucking say that" fics, so there's only one that I vaguely keep up with. My friend has a Mass Effect fic, which can be found here. It focuses on femShep(/Kaidan) and Tali(/Garrus) and is post-ME3.
