Okay so we have this huge problem with forgetting about everything that’s happened by the time the next election rolls around so I’d like to keep a running list of things as they’re happening to help remind us when the 2026 midterms roll around. And please add to this if I’ve missed anything.
January 2025:
Donald Trump pardoned 1500 people who participated in the insurrection of January 6th, including those who violently assaulted and nearly killed police officers.
Donald Trump has declared that trans and non-binary people don’t exist.
Donald Trump is working towards firing everyone in the government who isn’t loyal to him.
Donald Trump has effectively fired everyone who he claims is an “illegal DEI hire” …whatever that means
Donald Trump pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organization
Congress are trying to pass the Laken Riley Act to, effectively, round up every immigrant in the country, including LEGAL immigrants
Donald Trump removed caps on prescription drug prices.
Donald Trump wants to withhold federal aid to help combat the LA wildfires and help the thousands of people who have been displaced and lost their homes.
The Department of Justice has put a hold on all civil rights cases.
Donald Trump has cut off aid to Ukraine.
Laken Riley Act has been passed by Congress and is awaiting being signed into law by the President. Here’s the breakdown of the votes: House Senate
Donald Trump purged a dozen inspectors general from the federal government and intends to replace them all with people loyal to him.

The cute lads have wedged their way back to the forefront of my mind haha#I'm honestly really glad I kept all my Webkinz plush over time and they've survived all the moves and whatnot#Some are still missing - most notably my horses for some reason - but I have the rest onhand and they're still cute and soft and I love them#Getting the opportunity to name and play with them as a young'un made them stick quite strongly in my mind ♪#And I still find some of my design sensibilities with their roots in the gameplay/game design/UI design/interactivity#I think it inspired some of my Video Game Design brain which is an aspect of myself I'm quite happy with :D#And I /love/ plushies probably now more than ever <3 So I'm doubly glad younger me didn't get rid of them haha#Got my lineup that featured in Tala's Requestober this year ♥ I left out a couple for what are probably obvious reasons ahem ahem#If you haven't seen what the Official design of the clownfish is in Webkinz... Its always so hard to believe that not being in pain is just the casual state of being for most people, and not a rare event they experience every now and again

i keep finding reminders of how i used to act/type a few years ago and i shrivel up. and die.
#i am so so so glad that i'm still on friendly terms with a lot of you guys because i am not a strong enough person#if i was interacting with someone like my past self i think i'd keep a long distance before gently closing the door#drags my hands down my face. the masking was so much. too much.#i stumbled across drawings from 2016 or so and a lot of it was based on memes my friend* at the time liked#which i vividly recall thinking 'this seems really weird. but i think it'll make them laugh!' which. in fairness. it did#but i'm just not & have never been the sort of person who is wholly comfortable acting like that anyway#it always felt off. but i'd lean into it because it's all i really knew people expected of me & i was scared of making a jarring change#which. in a sense. losing my ''best friend*'' & primary discord server at the time somewhat helped w that transition period#into. well. what i am today!#i like to think i'm still silly enough but in a more authentic way to myself & my own humor...#it feels a lot more real - the ways in which i put myself out there. i don't have the weight of feeling like i 'must' close myself off#i get to be open. whether it's here or among friends. i feel more genuine and - ironically - alive; for better and for worse i suppose#jestersvaguely#*the same person. not very good for a multitude of reasons + they were twice my age at the time#which isn't inherently a bad thing to be clear. but combined w a lot of behavior they facilitated + topics of conversation it's... well.#but i digress#i'm glad that things have improved - generally speaking :]

Genuinely so happy to see that Totodile made it into ZA! I haven't really consolidated my thoughts on the trailer yet (I feel like I still have more questions than answers about what the plot itself even is beyond 'make the city better' tbh?), but Totodile is there and Absol is there and that is genuinely enough to keep me excited

I won't be a killjoy- I am excited- but i might mention stuff I'm a little *???* on#but this isn't going to be some super negative thing because I am excited about it :)#omfg and my sibling is one of those people who just cinemasins the shit out of everything and I love them but I'm not gonna do that#ok. so. first off. I was really surprised to see that it was current day and not past or future but I'm not disappointed. just surprised!#I am really excited to see Lumiose so fleshed out!!! My only worry is that it'll feel repetitive to explore since there's *seemingly* littl#-variety in the overall ecosystem. you've got the little park areas but that's. yk. not all that visually different it seems.#and I loooove exploring new areas in games. it's my favorite thing so that's my main hesitation/what's keeping me a little unsure#BUT-#it looks like they really took their time with making Lumiose as big and truly city-like as they could and I'm psyched for it!#I hope different parts of the city have different vibes to make up for the same-iness of the game only taking place in one area.#supposedly. it is confirmed to only be set in lumiose and no other in game areas right??? no routes or anything?#I'm also excited for the new battling mechanic. I wonder how pokemon speed and size factors into hitboxes and such with dodging???#my mind also always goes to accessibility and i do hope that it's not *too* reliant on reaction-speed dodging.#I like turn-based stuff because it's easier on bad nerve pain days#but I can't imagine they're going to go. like. skyrim or botw with it where you *need* a certain level of coordination.#like as long as it's no worse than PLA's noble pokemon fights (minus the goddamn electrode one) then it should be fine#and I cannot imagine it would be harder than that or that battles would solely RELY on dodging.#like. sorry to the people who think pokemon's too easy but idk. if I wanted to play dark souls then i'd play dark souls.#but moving on from that because it's probably a non-issue:#the graphics are amazing.
