Ive been looking at your art for… i cant even remember how long. Like a couple months now, i love checking in on your account here to look at new art, or even old art! Everything you draw is unbelievably eye pleasing. The colours, shading, rendering, outfits, every single thing is so stunning, even to the last detail. And dont even get me started on how you draw Demo! Hes my favourite merc, hands down, always has been since i got tf2 a long time ago. He never had as much content compared to the rest and when i found your account it was quite literally like finding a big blue lake in the middle of a desert. You capture his character so nicely, give him his charasmatic flare and charm in every piece you draw. Ik this is a long thing im writing, my bad, i just feel like i should tell you. Dont listen to what any of those jackass people say either in your other asks. Keep on drawing man. 💗 -🦌

I honestly dont even know where to start. This is just so incredibly sweet, I honestly hadnt thought there would a reason people would wanna take time to write something like this to some artist they like. I don't mean that in a bad way whatsoever, It just really moves you, you know? I started this account just like any other art account i made before it but I only intended it to be an archive, I had gotten burnouts so many times and abandoned LOTS of twt accounts cuz of it but something about this tumblr account always felt easier to go to, no matter what I posted some people found it and liked it and it was a nice change of pace from twitters harsh algorithm lol and its really brought me so much confidence and my art has really changed since a few months ago!! RealAgeAU Drabble - Pumpkin Eve

Hello! I am back again! @spotaus

Gonna be real. I wasn't sure where to write the next drabble before i remembered i wanted to do this one. (look i was in the mood for fluff and nice times and not for angst so here we are!)

Cross stops the truck and Killer grins at the babybones in his arms "Ready tiny bat?"

Nightmare shoots him a glare and Killer can't help but snort as there are now two tiny grumpy faces staring at him. One from Nightmare and one from Nightmare's hoody.

Dust huffs and pokes him in his neck and Killer shoots him a look. Really hoping the slight shiver wasn't obvious. Dust just looks ar him bored in his own cheap vampire costume "Don't annoy Nightmare." and he leaves their beat up truck.

Cross makes a curious noise as he quickly turns off the engine "Dust! Don't get out of the car when the engine is still running!"

Moments later Killer's door opens and Dusty easily picks Nightmare up. Dust shoots Cross a look as he tilts his skull "You were already parked." and he walks towards the side as Horror joins him.

Killer quickly undoes his seat belt and joins the two as Cross grumbles and locks their truck.

Their little group walks towards the main road of town and quickly see pumpkins and decorations everywhere. magical candles floating and all kinds of other spooky decorations.

Nightmare looks around to glance at everything at once.

Killer grins and leans close "Having fun tiny boss?"

Ngihtmare blinks and shoots him a look before answering "Never been to... something like this..." and he goes back to looking around.

Right. BEcause while the hide out had been save it wasn't exactly the hot spot for parties and events. And Nightmare had never been invited to any event of festival before. Well! Time to make this one rock!

Killer grins and pokes the chubby little cheek "Well! Ready to have afun time!?" Even if Killer has no idea what there is to do here. He is used to just trick or treating on halloween and those memories are spotty and from a very long time ago. One that he hardly remembers or honestly doesn't even care about.

Why would he care about half forgotten memories? When he has everythign he ever wanted and could want right here with him?

Killer however is happy it doesn't seem to be a traditional Halloween. Mostly for Dusty and H. Horror must have very bitter sweet memories about all the old parties and holidays from his own universe. How stuff just wasn't celebrated anymore as the food shortage got extreme. And well, Dust is still wrecked with guilt when something reminds him. It is good that this is a different type of party! They will just have to give Nightmare other childhood traditions to enjoy here!

A glance to the side and Cross is looking around in awe as well. Crossy had grown up in pretty much a military AU or base or whatever. It is no big surprise he hardly had fun festivals to enjoy. And even if those were there he probably only guarded and worked at those.

Killer grins as he glances around. Looking for a good spot to start. He sees a lot of games and little stalls to get sweet and nice treats.

They start with a few games. Some apple bopping is one of them, though instead of apples these people use oranges. Some spooky duck fishing game. They all got a kick out of the weird bowling game with a ball with a skull on it called Skull bowling.

After that came the treats. all spooky themed and with a lot of pumpkin flavours. Killer doesn't care too much for the flavour itself but Nightmare seems to really enjoy the more autumn flavours. Which together with his love for sweets makes these snacks perfect!

Killer does see the candy apples in the distance and makes sure they don't go near there. It is about having fun and enjoying their time together.

Killer grins as he leads them to the corn maze, they go in together and easily make it out again. Horror having lead them out of course, wiht Nightmare on his shoulders looking around.

They exit the maze just in time to see Ellie and Dani walk by. the two monsters see them and grin back "Hey guys! Having fun?" Ellie grins widely.

Killer studies the two. Dani and Ellie seem to have gone for some egypt kinda thing. Killer tilts his skull "Egypt?"

Dani sighs but nods as Ellie grins proudly "Yes! Dani is as Anubis! And I am as cleopatra" she grins more "Or better said. CleHOPatra." and she shoots them finger guns.

Killer snorts and hears both Dust and Horror chuckle as well. Cross lets out a loud sigh as Nightmare pouts unamused.

Ellie giggles as Dani looks around "How are you guys liking your first festival?"

Cross smiles brightly "It is amazing!" Nightmare nods his agreement and Killer feels like his soul is being squeezed. Nightmare looks happy and content as he is held by nay of them. Cross is actually enjoying himself instead of trying to force himself to be serious all the time. Dusty is relaxed as he is near and Horror is content and feels at ease.

This is exactly how it should be!

Killer knows he should care more about all they left behind but honestly? He is a pretty selfish person. Everything in the multiverse can crash and burn for all he cares. As long as those who are his are happy he is happy.

He will eventually talk about that... squeezing feeling in his soul whenever he sees them laugh and grin. or when they touch or hug him. Eventually. When he feels a bit braver. For now he just lets himself enjoy this.

The two girls wave their own goodbyes as they rush off to enjoy their date night.

Horror looks around curiously "Where to now?"

Nightmare, who has been tranfered over to Cross, points at a building "Maybe that?"

Killer looks over but knows all of them are already going in the direction of whatever it is. As they get closer they realise it is a haunted house and they share grins.

None of them are easy to scare after all that happened and they went through. They make their way over and talk with the human and monster manning the building.

THe human frowns as they see Ngihtmare "are you four sure you want to take the tiny kiddo in? I mean. It is scary."

Nightmare huffs and pushes close to Cross. Cross just hugs him close. Killer grins "Yeah it is fine! He loves scary stuff!" maybe a bit of an exaggeration but it will work.

the people manning the stall share a look but eventually agree to let them in. On the condition that they don't let go of him.

Which, ppppfffff. As if any of them would willingly let go of Nightmare! Killer is very aware all of them are very clingy when it comes to their babybones. It is alreayd a miracle they are all willing to share tiny boss wiht each other.

They go in and the haunted house has theme rooms. All centered around certain fears or scare situation.

THe first is about canibals which Horror just huffs at with a roll of his eye. They grin with him and Horror snorts a laugh as he mutters "They are using the wrong temperature for human meat." and they laugh as they move to the next room.

Something about a stalker and some lady sitting in the living room. spooky phone calls and shadows in the fake windows. sound track of footsteps. Nice enough alright.

Dust huffs "Way to stalk badly. Announcing your presence."

Killer laughs and hangs over his shoulders, his soul and magic purring at having one of the three this close and not being pushed away as he rubs his skull againt Dust's "Not everyone can be as skilled at stalking prey Dusty~"

Dust lets out a loud sigh but only gives him a small nudge to get Killer to let go. So no actual annoyance.

There is another room about medical experimentation which Nightmare just looks displeased as he mutters about the tools being dirty. Killer nods "I know! It is going to mess with the results." which causes Dsuty to snort as he walks past.

there is another room about spiders and that is just great! they laugh and relax as they walk through and go exit the house, and enter the next area.

Killer walks into the garden only to stop and start laughing. Cross frowns at him before looking and gasping, and then quickly covers Nightmare's sockets. Nightmare pouts "Hey!"

Killer snorts and leans heavily against Horror as Horror just pats his shoulders and back. Dust hums and mutters "naked skeletons. nice."

Becuase plastic skeletons are used for decoration. Which Killer knows is a halloween thing but it ALWAYS cracks him up.

Cross huffs and mutters "it is indecent. Come Nightmare. Lets quickly go."

Nightmare mutters about it being fake and silly but he doesn't protest as he is carried out of the naked skeleton area down the path to get back at the front of the house and the start. Killer does manage to glance around and realise it is set up as a graveyard of some kind with a witch hut and everything. but there are just so many naked skeletons that he starts laughing again.

They get to the start of the house again and Cross mutters about indecent while Nightmare eats one of the many snacks they bought him. Killer knows he is still grinning and giggles every once in a while while Dust and Horror just share amused looks.

They say their goodbyes but Killer makes sure to give the two manning the house a cheeky wink as he blows them a kiss "interesting yard. Didn't realise that were your types." the two share confused looks before looking around the side. Then they both look up shocked and stutter out protests.

Killer laughs as he walks with his friends. Cross shoots him a look "Don't do that!"

Killer grins and winks at Cross "It is harmless Crossy. You know I only mean it with any of you guys~" and he winks again.

Cross has this tiny adorable blush as he mutters about Killer having to be serious before rushing to catch up with Horror.

Killer sighs but smiles. It is fine. Eventually they will realise he is being serious. for now? They are happy and Nightmare hasn't stopped purring for almost two hours now. That is what matters.

I have a few questions about your version of flumbo

1.) would it ever be possible to gain his trust as a human (please my heart hurts/hj)

2.) would cups balance on his horn nubs

3.) I’m not sure if you’ve clarified or not but what is his relationship with Syringeon? Do they hate each other or is it just annoyance or something else entirely

4.) can I marry him/j

1) Technically speaking, you COULD gain his trust but you'd need to be veeeryyy persistent on getting him on your side. That man is stubborn af and will not let the notion "that all humans are the same" go. You'd have to keep following him around and try to become someone he can lean on (aka try and make him know that you understand his problems and what not. Help him get around the facility and promise him a way out of the place). You'd have to prove this a bunch of times till u can get it through his thick skull and just then, when the realization hits him that you're not ,in fact, just another human wanting to hurt him and take advantage of him, he'd be absolutely confused. It'll take time of course but if you're determined you can get him to be your companion.

2) yes. Tho he wouldn't be pleased by it

3) Their relationship is kinda weird and not healthy, like at all. Syringeon has a massive god complex and add the fact that he helped create flumbo, it makes for a pretty unbalanced power hierarchy or whatever u can call it. Flumbo usually tries to mask his problems by acting like a smug mf and so the two clash. I plan to make a lil sketch where syringeon gets fed up with flumbo and threatens him by saying smt like

"Watch your tone with me, boy. Remember that as easily as I created you, I can break you apart and put you back together as I see fit".

Another thing to put on the flumbo trauma list. And the worst part is that flumbo thinks that getting on his side is the only way to get what he wants (basically just escape tho he's not exactly sure). And so, syringeon practically uses him as a pawn to use to achieve his goals and flumbo is stuck with him (and maybe brushista as well but I've not developed more of that side of things).

So in summary it's a little bit of both. Flumbo somewhat resents syringeon for the threats Yadda Yadda and syringeon is somewhat annoyed by his presence tho not as much as he is annoyed by... let's say the player or bittergiggle. Same goes to how he sees uthman (he deems them both as a necessary annoyance)

I've been thinking about my ocs Esther and Cyrus a lot recently though, so I'll talk about them!

Magic/enhanced abilities (and hybrids) are VERY new in their world and everything is kind of a mess (including the legal system). All of these things came about scientific experimentation but the situation has only gotten worse now that people are having kids (abilities are being passed down).

Cyrus is one of those people who was passed down an ability but was also later given hybrid traits. He doesn't have support from his family anymore and has pretty much become somewhat of a criminal. Esther is in similar boat to him with her losing her family (still figuring out the details of this) and they both team up. Both of them are really close (specifically in a qpr) already when the story starts.

The plot begins when a large bounty is put on both of there heads (presumably by a bigger legal presence) and they immediately start becoming hunted down. In comes Asna, someone working under a huge corporation who is contractually obligated to help them.

I guess the story and characters focus a lot on found family, of making you own version of people you call home and of trying to find yourself after being forcibly changed.

At a Christmas party with a bunch of my classmates, 3 are Spanish, 15 from 5 diferentes Latino countries, now that they're all tipsy to drunk, they whipped out both the super fast accent with their own regional pronunciations and the drinking game, I've officially given up following the rules or the conversations.

Back on topic though. I can't recall exactly when it started but there's been a borderline universal disdain for anything Sonic related unless it's some kind of internet shitpost or fan art of an AU.

the "sonic is garbage" sentiment has been thrown around by a lot of people for a while but nowadays it feels like folks aren't even trying to base it on actual product quality or personal experience anymore. Recently people have desperately making up any reason they can to relentlessly crap on the series but they also want to keep being fans of the series so they start vigorously clamoring for anything that isn't the source material because they can't have it both ways. It's weird. Back then, people who hated Sonic were you know people who hated Sonic. But now I see more people who are into Sonic be more harsh and venomous towards the series than people who don't like the series to begin with. I don't think the series is flawless, but a lot of recent complaints just feel forced. A considerable number of beloved series installments started getting the"um actually they were never good" treatment and that list kept growing to the point where there are fans unironically saying, "Sonic has always been a lost cause" and they either don't even bother trying to back up their claim or they pull out some conspiracy theory that has nothing to do with anything.

I've seen tons of fandom creations that change the cast/setting/events/art style to the point of being unrecognizable, but I rarely see it done out of hatred like with fan made creations involving Sonic. Generally, fan re-imaginings are done purely for experimentation and out of excitement. But in recent times, a lot of sonic fan re-imaginings are almost always done to show off how "dumb and inferior" the source material is. It's odd.

After perusing a lot of fan content for Sonic, I've come to a conclusion that Sonic has one of the most, for the lack of a better word, parasocial fandoms out there. With all the fanfics, AUs, and other fanmade story content (even if its good on a technical level), it feels like people don't even like the series or characters for who they are. Rather, they take the idea/vibe/aesthetic of a character and just use it as a soapbox for their own fantasies, to the point where you just ask "why can't you just make an original character instead".

I don't think Sonic is special in this regard. For example, by 2018 the Undertale fandom became about anything but the actual game lol, it was literally AUs of AUs

On its own, there's nothing wrong with this. It's far from being my favorite way to engage with a product (if I like something, I like the characters and the setting lol - the most I can do is a What If), but sure, engage in your creativity, be inspired, have fun!

The problem arises when this changing canon to its fundamental level comes with this veneer of scorn. Redesigns that are presented as "fixing". Rewrites that bemoan the "wasted potential" in a "I can do better" way. Analyses posts and headcanons (which more often than not devolve into personal projection) that completely miss the point of the original story but they don't care.

This is a phenomenon that I only see in Sonic.

OKAY AN EXTREMELY SELF-INDULGENT SENSELESS RAMBLE ABOUT JWCT REGARDING GRIEF AND EMOTIONS AND FOUND FAMILY AND COMPLEX CHARACTERS COMING UP AHEAD WOOP WOOP !!!

i cannot stress to you enough. how much i love the way they write processing trauma. like yeah trauma is all silly and angst and whatever but it's a real thing like genuinely and it's exhausting to see shows just dismiss it over and over again but THIS SHOW I SWEAR IT'S JUST. EVERYTHING IS DONE SO SO WELL AND I AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL LIKE

and not to mention that the animation SERIOUSLY DOES IT JUSTICE like the expressions are SO GOOD OH MY GOSH LIKE IT'S I'M THEY'RE YEAH THE EXPRESSIONS. ARE INCREDIBLE. that looks darius got in his eyes when he KNEW the password to brooklyn's phone and kenji didn't??? so good SO GOOD and just the way their eyes all shine before they start crying is actually done so well that if you listen carefully you can feel my heart breaking

also i love how like emotional processing is also written so much. all of them aren't afraid to cry and i feel like that's just. yeah it's beautiful. they cry soft they cry loud whatever it is they're comfortable enough to do so and if they're not they at least know they won't be judged for it ARE YOU KIDDING ME I'M GOING TO BITE A TABLE?????

the characters have flaws. i love that so much. the characters are not perfect but they're still likable and it's executed so well. darius' grief is PALPABLE and kenji's anger, albeit sometimes annoying, is so understandable that you can't actually be angry or annoyed with him because the story writing makes you understand. that's incredible. yasmina struggles with anxiety and ptsd and she gets frustrated and that is !! okay !! sammy ignores her emotions and struggles with toxic positivity but we understand *why* she talks to yasmina that way (because she's worried and scared and concerned for her girlfriend, but she's also just as worried of truly addressing what she's been through) so it's so hard to get mad at her. ben is THANJ GOODNESS not mischaracterized as a cinnamon roll and is actually a complex character with complex emotions and i can't get enough of it. he's like a pain he's so annoying sometimes but it's endearing because he reminds you of that one classmate from elementary that makes you go ohhh yeah no it's him that's fine

okay paragraph was getting long but I do have more to say about kenji. the relationships in this show are executed SO WELL and I'm beyond relieved that Kenji and Daniel's relationship was written INCREDIBLY WELL

like. okay first off the asian rep YEAHGHH IT EAS GOOD !!! WOOP WOOP YRAHAHDH HONK HONK the part about kenji saying he should get his violin after daniel was like telling his sob story was SO FUNNY OH MH GOSH

and just. kenji and daniel kon. im. like his dad was never perfect. far from it and yet kenji just he loves him so much and wants to make him proud and it makes me sick because the writing helps you UNDERSTAND why

daniel keeps giving kenji ultimatums and kenji standing up to him for once just. yeah. that was done incredibly well. and then not even ten minutes after daniel started to change and gave his son something without expecting anything in return other than his presence daniel gets eaten alive in front of him.

okay now this show holy moly i was NOT expecting daniel to just. get ripped apart but um YEAH THAT HAPPENED and the grief was written so well I cannot stress this enough. I loathe in movies and shows when they skim past traumatic deaths and just act like the grief is just non existent and this show does an incredible job at showing that it is VERY MUCH STILL THERE and it makes people out there who are struggling feel a little less crazy and that's so beautiful

i've been a benrius enthusiast since day one and honestly at this point i just hope everything goes well for them moving on. brooklyn's death and Darius coping with her grief was done SO SO WELL and honestly okay as much as i love sibling-type dinostar i think rewatching scenes with the lens that he was in love with her just makes it hurt so much and it's just. yeah. it's written well.

I will say that I think the story could have gone on without Darius confessing his love to Brooklyn, and the scene where Kenji asked Darius about the voicemails could have been used solely as a chance to highlight grief. another way the scene could have gone was if kenji sifted through the voicemails and just heard Darius's voice shatter in a way he's never quite heard it or listened to darius blame himself and that could have been a moment for kenji to realize that grief isn't something people should deal with alone, that *he* shouldn't deal with grief alone

regardless i really do think the idea that Darius was in love with Brooklyn was done really well. I don't know a better way for kenji to have figured out the truth, and for that I am grateful :D!! I hope the hardcore shippers don't get too mad though 😭

also I absolutely loved the lady with the whistle. she's cool. her character design is terrifying and the way she treats the dinosaurs reminds me a of a queen that is very fond of her workers like 😭 she's cool but also i would never want her within a 100 mile radius of me

the found family in this show is actually. yeah. it makes me cry because it's just done so well because it doesn't idealize perfect relationships. there are awkward moments, there are sad moments, characters still feel broken and alone despite having people who've actively said that they'd go to the moon and back for them. it's realistic and it's written beautifully

I think Darius might actually be the character with The Writing ever. his grief and his nostalgia, his awkwardness and fascination with learning and his kindness are all things that exist together and I am so so grateful for that. he's allowed to laugh and make jokes while feeling constant, looming guilt. he is fascinated with learning while also struggling to feel like he deserves to be happy, he enjoys learning about dinosaurs while also being terrified of them on the worst days. he feels guilty and feels like a bad person. but he's loved and he's cared for. can you tell he's my favorite now because

enamored with yasmina and sammy as always. they are just the girlfriends ever and i love so much how openly they communicate with each other. sammy apologizes when she makes mistakes, yasmina doesn't hold it against her. they're always at each other's sides and their love isn't conditional. i love them SO MUCH

okay sorry im making this about darius again but this guy actually is The character ever. I don't think I've ever felt so seen in a character and i just yeah the writers are incredible because all of the characters are written to feel relatable, and if not that, to feel real. it was just a huge comfort to me to know that okay im not crazy for feeling this way because of a character, who was written and animated by dozens and dozens of creators was allowed to be written this way, i'm not messed up in the head, im just processing emotions and it's okay that I need help for that
