good morning to all the people in my school who called me a freak for going to the eras tour 5 days before the exams to access university cause they were so sure that i would flunk and be a failure for the rest of my life, because not only i have seen taylor swift in the most successful tour in history, but i have also passed every single one of those exams flawlessly to the point i have been invited to an event to honor the best students (they choose the 4 best of each high school who have an average of 9 or higher sooo!!) organized by all public universities in my region and the council on education, science, universities and professional formation 🤭

OH YEAH ABSOLUTELY-

I watched it and saw some things that the creators clearly wanted to do but ended up making it "half-assed" and never fully completed the concept...(I don't know a better expression)

I noticed a similarity between "The great mouse detective" in terms of the plot. You have character A that is in need of assistance (that is finding somebody or something precious to character A) and finding character B (that being the detective) and a sidekick that'll be named character C, as well as an antagonist and (in glup's case) their henchmen. One thing that was also in the back of my mind (I dunno if anyone shares this) is the fact that glup doesn't get any development? I would've liked to see more of how his character interacts with the others and what not to establish who he is. The only thing I remember is him being cocky, a bit narcissistic and (at the start) a scaerdy cat. There might be more but I'd have to rewatch it a second time. Now I know Alicia is the main character and all but I feel like sometimes she's in the spotlight a tad bit too much? I might be biased to see more of the motion captured coat rack but if the movie is titled "Glup" I'd expect to see more of glup (and his one dimensional sidekick's that I also wish they had gotten more development).

The plot is fine but I do wish we could've gotten more intense scenes to bump up the risks and to get the audience on the tips of their toes wondering "what going to happen next?". The part where they start running away from the oven is kinda funny (at least for me cause whilst watching it I couldn't get over how glup's jacket doesn't cover over his pole to make it look like he has long legs so he just has these tiny nubs that annoy the sh*t out of me) but I wish they could've done something more... impactful? With dread? Oh I dunno all of my "I wish they would've done x thing" is based on the detective mouse movie.

And one last thing...I don't remember ever being any detective elements. Most of the "detective discoveries" are done by Alicia, not glup. Welp that's my rant for today folks-

Also I'M ALL FOR A REEBOT- this movie could've been what "the great mouse detective" was for my childhood and I've got to admit it's hella fun reimagining stuff of a movie with so much potential. I'd love to hear your ideas on the matter and how the characters are and what are their dynamics :D

I wanna make a comic that's a modern or different take on the movie Glup from 2004. Like the movie would do amazing nowadays if the dub was better along with the animation and if the story was a little cleaner.

But besides that if it was worked on with a bit more care it would be a MASTERPIECE with an amazing message. Like I wanna redesign everything obviously Glup as well. I think people would like it but hey that's just me.

But it also gives me an excuse to make a ref sheet for Glup which I've been meaning to do anyways.
