Yeah, so I finally watched Dark Side of Dimensions. I don’t even care if it’s blatant fanservice, inject that crack directly into my veins. Hrrngh. The animation looked soooo good!

Older!Yugi is so cute with his dress shirts and vests! Squee! And did Kaiba spray paint his shirt on? Those abs, lmao. In general, I thought the costuming was a nice mix of nostalgic looks with some new flair.

Also, there was finally some good shit for Ryou to do (it’s a very low bar). Of course he’s a chick magnet, it’s more than just the accent, heh. And that flashback? I felt bad for him because he didn’t want to remember. But I was also cackling, going “yes, put that blorbo in a situation!” I only wish he wasn’t like 8 years old when he got the Ring so that Yami Bakura could have spoken in his normal, raspy voice. Hrrrrngh.

Speaking of voices, I wish that Atem could have actually, you know, talked. When he came back. Like, I get it, but… still. At least most of the original voice cast reprised their roles.

There were high points and low points, just like the rest of the show. The 3D animation was… fine. (The 2D animation more than made up for it). The villain was… fine. (Give me back Yami Bakura damn youuuu). Shadi is a dumb fuck, but what else is new.

And I like Kaiba as much as the next gal, but I wish the movie could have stopped sucking his dick for two seconds and shown Joey some love. The dog costume again, really?? It was funny back in season 1, but Joey’s come so far since then. Turns me off of Puppyshipping, because Joey deserves better than someone who treats him like shit…

Um, ok. Ships. Puzzleshipping? Duh. Do I even need to elaborate? At least Yugi seems to be handling the separation better than Kaiba, because… Prideshipping? Also duh. Kaiba goes to absurd lengths to get his crush back. Rivalshipping? Now there’s an interesting one. Interesting to imagine how Kaiba’s perception of Yugi changes, once he realizes that the Pharaoh is a separate entity. Also, is there a RyouXTherapy ship? Lmao.

how does fanon get Shakarian wrong? 👀👀

I'm gonna start off by saying that I'm a turianfucker too and turians are hot and I get the thirst I get y'all

BUT

too many people are attracted to turians and want a turian romance so badly that they ignore Garrus's entire character for the sake of getting a turian romance and just basically strip him down to nothing but his species. People who are into turians and have a primal kink or something, which like. I also get I'm a monsterfucker too that's fun. are also projecting too much of that kink onto turians and Garrus specifically because Garrus is just unlucky enough to be the romance option. People write a generic alien/human relationship while ignoring most of what the Shakarian dynamic looks like in canon because. Well I actually don't know why. But the amount of turian/human fics, and yes, Shakarian too, that include some kind of "turians are a bit feral or actually aggressive/possessive" take is terrifying. Have we played the same games? Turians are literally described over and over as uptight having a stick in their ass sticklers for the rules. Garrus is an awkward nerd who doesn't know how to flirt with his girlfriend. Even when he he does the evil he does it in the most rule-obedient way possible. He's a mess and he relies on Shepard a bit too much especially in the first two games. This man is NOT the growly dominant alien character insert you want him to be I'm sorry. Turians have 15,000 more years of civilisation than humans. They are not going to be feral creatures just because they have sharper teeth. The human would be the primitive uncivilised alien in a turian/human relationship if you need someone to fill that role (also, why would you?).

Not to mention Shepard being treated as a self-insert which is. well it is a lot more forgivable in my eyes, but even as an RPG PC, Shepard still has a lot of distinct character. I think this is the first time since playing The Walking Dead that I've seen a player character with such a strong personality despite the genre forcing her to be different things.

To be fair I think a lot of the problems with fanon characterization of not only Shakarian but pretty much everyone who gets commonly mischaracterized (look at the woobification of Tali) could be fixed by regularly checking back in with the source material instead of, which I understand and can also be guilty of sometimes, immersing yourself in more and more layers of fanfic until you can't tell apart the fanon Shakarian from the canon Shakarian.

Dishonourable mentions (things that aren't common bad fandom practice but bother me personally): sub Shepard and actually worse yet dom Garrus, any AU where Garrus is a human (like??? lmao. his entire personality and conflict is driven by him being a turian, that is so central to his character that I can't imagine why you would take that away and think that's the same person), Shakarian retiring to the beach (Garrus said tropical. He didn't say beach. He hates swimming he would drown save him)

Also obviously this should go without saying, but there are TONS of great fanfics about Shakarian out there. This is just a list of what people get wrong that I wrote in like ten minutes on my phone sitting on the floor in my kitchen. It's not some magic truth scroll of fandom transgressions. Also obviously everyone is free to interpret fictional characters however they want even if it's different from the source material. Sometimes ignoring canon is better, trust me. Do whatever you want and don't let me spoil your fandom experience for you.

But yeah

TL;DR: I think that Shakarian and Garrus in particular suffers a lot from Garrus being the only turian romance in the games.

and, since i've said it in a reply and in tags but not yet a full text post - i could be very wrong about what actually happens in that film. i haven't seen it yet. none of us have. but like i said, the clip just brought me back to a time i never want to revisit if i can help it, personally, which is why i'm doing what i can to avoid it. and my community that i've built here are helping me. so if you're going to try and fight me in my ask box over me supposedly trying to "force" everyone to "conform" for "my comfort" - who are you saying this in defence of? who is it that's so offended by my asking? i can't see any evidence of anyone being that way. i've not lost any mutuals since i asked. i promise you, there are far, far better things you could be doing with your time than making up arguments that don't even exist.

When I tell you all those comments were VILE I am not exaggerating. Of course there was also a lot of support too, not only from pro shippers but people who knew the law, people who saw that art was OBVIOUSLY cathartic of something fucked up and others who genuelly enjoyed her art style. She went from a pretty fucking humble artist with less than 1000 followers to 2000 and more, which is still humble but a lot bigger than what she had before Crapshow ever looked on her direction. Her influence would have been minimal if not for that video. But the harassment continued, people tried to take down the comics Aggy was selling in other sites, they succeeded in taking her Etsy shop and finally she had enough so last I knew about her, she had abandoned social media. Before that she has aldo tweeted about recently losing her job because of Covid. Who knows where the fuck she is now or what she is doing in order to have food on her plate. So all those fuckers, instigated by Crapshow herself, who had no qualms to call her a predator with no evidence of any real victim, the worst artist on twitter despite being the same platform where fucking SHADMAN is in, went to a completely unkown trans woman artist obviously working through some traumatic experiences on her art clearly tagged, clearly marked for an adult audience (which didn’t stopped Crapshow to share it to her underage audience, of course, even though herself had made sensual drawings on the past on the background of her videos and there was NEVER any warning) and took away one of her sources of income just after she had already lost her job, putting every single part of who she was to be scrutinized by people whose thirst for moral superiority made it all the more cruel. I think I heard too that she has been doxxed so, hey, maybe that means that the cops were called on her and god know what could have happened. Maybe she doen’t even have a house anymore, who knows! I don’t! I fucking despise Crapshow. I hate the people who did that, but she can go to hell for all I care. She saw this artist that she KNEW hasn’t done anything to anyone. And you better believe t that she is a verygood reason why there were later minors on twitter publishing CSEM on twitter as it were fanart to “denounce it” and, if not, at least I have no doubt that she didn’t helped AT ALL with the mentality that real life pictures = fanart and therefore they can be treated on exactly the same way interchangeably. Okay so I’ve been meaning to ask for a while now but I was far too nervous and didn’t want to offend anyone. But, that being said, can I ask why you choose to indulge in RPF? I personally find it super strange, invasive and (maybe this is a stretch) but also low-key dehumanising?

Idk what word to use here and how to eloquently word this but definitely feels like RPF plays into the fetishisation and the ‘disconnect’ of celebrities from people who indulge in it. Like, by writing RPF you’re writing your own version of that person (some people try and stay accurate whilst others invent whole new personalities after) but you don’t know them, not entirely, and for writers to (understandably) fill in the gaps with whatever they like and create fics seems a little disrespectful and voyeuristic, esp because you’re using very real people to fill in the majority of the sexy (or just generally desired) ‘character bar’ whilst headcanoning the rest and publishing it.

Idk, I personally find it kinda disrespectful as to how real human beings are just used almost as props to serve and fulfill a handful of people’s fantasies/desires. At least with fictional characters, it’s not that big a deal if you headcanon, fill in the personality gaps or go ooc because they are fictional. But for RPF, the real people are often treated as jumping off points for whatever build-a-bearfantasy writers have in mind (younger writers/readers are far more likely to do this but I believe it’s a widespread phenomenon amongst everyone who indulges in it)

And I know the people involved are likely never going to read it but it still doesn’t mean they haven’t been disregarded/disrespected as a person already. I’ve personally never liked RPF, writing or reading, but I know some people like it - I just don’t know why?? I know one argument I’ve heard is that celebs are in the public eye and so, they can rightfully be objectified/sexualised by their fanbase, which yes kinda makes sense but idk if it merits/justifies using the shell of the celebrity to fulfill the kinks of everyone in their fanbase.

I’m not sure how much sense I’ve made here. I’m pretty sure I’ve repeated myself the entire time lol but I am curious to what your answer would be. Full disclaimer - it is not my intention to shame you or anyone else - I just want to understand your thought process because it is wildly different to mine and for the most part I like/vibe with this blog a lot because your attitude towards celebs and celeb gossip is so refreshing. When I saw all the joshlie/swiftwyn fics I was a bit lost and further lost when people started actively thirsting, hence the reason behind this ask. Sorry this was so long ✌🏼

Okay so I have a lot of Thoughts™️ on this tbh. Now backstory: I was SUPER pearl clutchy about RPF for like actual years. I somehow missed the After phenomenon in terms of the books, but when the film deal came through I was properly scandalized. I was like, “Good grief imagine being Harry and you’re the basis for a whole ass abusive boyfriend character like what the actual fuck is wrong with these people!?” And then I did more thinking about it especially as I watched the sheer commercial success of this shitshow. 

Now I’m very like theoretically anti capitalism but I’m also a very pragmatic person whose primary love is and always has been and always will be the entertainment industry so we do have to look at what makes money because this shit’s not charity. And what the runaway success of After taught me is... RPF makes money. Like BIG money.

So then I had to relax on the pearl clutching and start asking myself why that is. Why are people into this shit? Well, celebs market themselves as 1) a brand and 2) sexual beings. You’re supposed to want them. That’s how they’re being sold to you. Harry’s not posing fucking stark naked in the Fine Line insert art for his health. Taylor’s not posting National Sock Appreciation Day for you to appreciate her socks. Like these are sexual beings and they’re being marketed to us as sexual fantasy. That’s part of why we’re buying their shit.

Let’s go back to the ‘celebs market themselves as a brand’ - if you look at people inspiring RPF it’s hardly ever people who are like... freaky private. Nobody’s putting out Saoirse Ronan RPF because tbh the average person, even an average fan of hers, doesn’t really know anything about her. She avoids socials and she doesn’t take too much press and she sorta just does her thing. People like Harry and Taylor and tbh Karlie market their personalities. They’re selling a whole package - not just a talented professional, not just a hot person, but a whole ass person who you’re supposed to buy into while also being y’know turned on by them per my previous points. 

So here we get into the RPF of it all. Realistically, these people are going to inspire fantasies. They’re trying to do that. And they’re also selling and marketing their relationships and personalities. Again, this is not an accident, this is a purposeful commercial push.

With that in mind, what’s so wrong about imagining scenarios that they’re kinda like... trying to concoct for us already? Taylor’s been singing about her sex life non stop since 2017. She’s told us these songs are about Joe. Joe’s a public figure who also takes interviews and markets his personality. Is it, therefore, wrong to imagine what that sex is like if they’re both hot and making money off of us? Is she not lowkey trying to get us to do that when she’s, like I say, singing about sex with him on main since 2017?

Now with RPF what we need to remember is this is purely fantasy. It isn’t real, and it’s not like... canon. I’m also not into like AU RPF personally like I don’t really have much imagination for like RPF crackships lmao but I’m also not going to get all huffy over it. For me, if celebrities sell shit using their relationship - as Taylor absolutely fucking does - and sell themselves as sexual and desirable - as Taylor absolutely fucking does - there’s nothing that wrong with fantasizing about what that is like.

It’s obviously not real. It shouldn’t be treated as real. But as an exercise in imagination, I don’t see what’s so wrong with it.

Also many of us have fantasies all the time even if we don’t write and publish them. We have sex dreams and weird fantasies about people we know/crushes and of course we fantasize about celebs. I think putting that down in formal words isn’t worth getting all up in arms about. I think it’s just having a bit of fun.

Finally, back to After: this is a HUGE commercial market. We can see that. And like I don’t see it as that unethical when I examine it closely because these people are also making money off of it. It’s like we can say “oh celeb gossip is so terrible” but it makes the people involved huge money. And considering at the end of the day entertainment shit does come down to the bottom line... ehhhh I’m okay with it.

Hope this kinda gives my take and it’s a conversation I’m very interested in so if y’all would like to keep having with takes and countertakes I’m all for it.

Okay this is going to be one hell of a ride so buckle up. After the almost kiss and almost love declaration happened, I told two friends and my cousin about what happened because I was too in shock and absolutely needed to tell someone about it. I held it together for like half a day and then tea was spilled. Both are mutual friends with my *friend*, let’s call him B, and they both were super shocked because it’s so out of character for him to say what he did and put himself in a situation where

where things could have escalated because he’s just such a devoted boyfriend to his girlfriend. Long story short, we talked it out and came to the conclusion that it was a very heat of the moment kind of thing, didn’t mean anything and blah blah blah. I was still feeling weird about it for the next three days but eventually it all died out - the weirdness, the confusing feelings, the possible attraction, etc. That same week, however, I reflected a lot on my relationship and my happiness. + I realized that I truly have been in an emotionally abusive relationship and finally realised that I absolutely deserve better. I found my inner strength again and it was feminist and beautiful and I’m proud of myself. One day my boyfriend was just plain rude to me for no reason over something stupid and I just snapped. Ben's uncle drives me to school. Real school. With little Ben. Ben's uncle is wearing a black collared shirt with green double stripes.

I forget to bring socks and topple off the car with just slippers on and shoes in hand. He thinks I'm silly. I think he's hot. I tell myself I'll ask him out soon. I'm in high school.

I'm strangely waiting outside the lobby for class. It's afternoon. I go with Che to the gate bc I'm bored waiting. I trip over a few Christmas balls. When I get up, she's on the other side of the gate on some sort of fine ticking stuff off. I tell myself i can do that and reach for the pen. Ms. Joji is beside che with 2 familiar janitors from sisc. She politely chuckles to herself. I ask her why, and she tells me I'm kind but why care about this now. She touches my hand and carries on. I'm a bit disappointed.

It's nearly evening and i see ben's uncle's car roll around nearby but dismiss it. Bea v has a twin and draws in a small crowd of people as she loudly rants about her time at school, some story about being teased and embarrassed as she was called Bea Duh and V____. It seemed more like a pun that made sense in my dream. They were annoying but i had nothing against then so i just stayed behind the crowd and listened. They seemed like they just wanted people to listen and sympathize but it felt like a clout thing. The people seemed like they didn't like listening either but they were bored and liked being in the crowd. I giggled to myself while she was talking about something i wasn't listening to. All eyes turned to me. She asked if i had something to say. I saw ben's uncle's back from afar as he was rummaging through the back seat. I didn't think he saw me. I mindlessly started with my story about forgetting my shoes that morning and it was embarrassing. But i slipped with the fact that i wanted to ask ben's uncle out. I looked back at the crowd and saw their eyes light up. Someone asked me why. I said because he was hot. They ask laughed. I just said yeah he's hot! The crowd ate it up as i was pretending to be all the rage, making my story funnier and being more loose and confident with the way i moved. I didn't say it out loud, but thoughts of ben's uncle being attractive bc he was thoughtful, funny, kind and attentive were flooding my head. I look back at him and see he's staring right back at me with kind eyes and a wondering smile on his face. I laugh bc I'm having a good time with the crowd and i unknowingly proved a point to bea that you can turn embarrassing stories into good and still be in good company. Ben's uncle is by the gate. His elbow brushes past mine and we lock eyes. I asked if he heard all that. He asks what time my classes started and i realize oh yeah I've been waiting out here a bit alone for a class I'm not sure I'm having. We chuckle at the realization. He is admitted through sisc's electronic gate.

Search for the demon in a village that looks like manuela but with wider roads. Felt like the village in wallace and gromit. Forgot most of this part but it was heart racing and fun; i hate when i forget the adventure parts Couldn't capture the demon but found a book with some inscriptions. Had to go somewhere to find people who could help us. We were to go to a shack that same night.

I arrive with my friend to the shack. We find two guys in a room that looked a lot like lolas room now that i think about it. Guys are sleeping soundly in a bed. He tells me to take a nap first so i take a nap on a space on the right side of the bed, which was disappointing bc i wanted to help look for the demon. I am mostly asleep, but he didn't know i was still partly awake and listening and watching him decipher the book he just found. Guy in the middle wakes up and says demon is in the house, they just haven't found him yet. Informs they need to do a ritual to drive him out. They don't know how the ritual will go. They leave the room already chanting something foreign that doesn't seem to be working. I hear them enter the room beside this. September starts playing. They are chanting i think.

When the verse comes up, i hear one of them say it's not working. It was then when the legs of the guy on the left side of the bed started rising even though he was still asleep. He is wearing a grey tshirt. Hmm lol probs not important. The chorus comes and i hear the guys in the other room say that hey this isn't so bad; it's not working but they're not getting hurt from all the heavy chanting. Left side of the bed guy's arms were now rising too. "I'm not in my body" i hear the being on what looked like lolas computer chair in the shadows say. I understand he was driven out. That guy was ben's uncle. He tells me to go back to sleep. I smile and say no. So it's you, i think. He didn't have to answer. There was a bit of silence as September continued playing and the guys in the other room just sounded like they were dancing at this point.

I ask if he knew I wanted to ask him out when he passed me as he went to pick ben up from inside the school. He said yeah and smiled. I felt no shame. We both laughed. I was getting sleepier. I asked if he was the bad guy. He said yes even though I was hoping more that he'd say no. The info automatically popped in my head: he was called the necromancer. He asked why i asked, and i answered it was because nothing changed and i still wanted to go out with him. He considered it, i can feel it. He asked why, implying why i would want that knowing he's the demon, and i said bc he's hot. We both chuckled. He smiled again. Go to sleep he said, but i wouldn't budge. His human's legs and arms are still up. He won't keep his eyes off me. It seems more sincere. I'm not scared at all. Fuck, he's cute. He realizes he can't convince me. He walked over to my end of the bed and sat by my waist. We stare at each other for a bit and it feels like we've been talking for hours. I ask will you hold my hand and he takes it. His hand feels human. It even feels as nervous as one. I tell him everyone's capable of change. He looks at me with love in his eyes. The sound of September is drowned out by the feeling of time to rest your weary head clouding my senses. I don't want to wake up yet; i want to save him.

I wake up. I think there's been an earthquake.

I bite my lip.

Alright! So this was supposed to be a mind farts thing, which is why some sentences are less...sentence-like than others. Typed this out when I woke up at 5:48am. I was sad that I couldn’t get back to sleep bc I wanted to see Ben’s uncle again HAHAHAHA THE THIRST IS REAL and it’s so weird how I always just referred to him as Ben’s uncle and not??? a name?????

• The last I’ve heard from Che was from an instagram post for the holidays. I’m not sure why she got in here. 

• For the life of me, I don’t know what Ms. Joji and my school janitors represented. Maybe it’s my late feeling of detachment from being coined as a nice person. I can’t promise I’ll write about that here. 

• I don’t know why Bea V is here either huhu. Despite what it seems like, I hold no grudges (or any real personal connection) to her, at least to my knowledge

• The action sequence in Manuela probably comes from how I’ve been going there often for the holidays and truly wanted to stay longer that I did. 

• September??? My dad’s been playing songs of that era when his friends came around and when he’d have the hand at the Manuela get-togethers.

• The thirst? Yeah it comes with all the dreams now, it seems. Haha. Remember Suit Guy from the other dream? I’m convinced they’re the same character. After my closure with a real boy last month, I reverted back to talking to Angel. I don’t expect you to know who he is as I’ve never mentioned him officially in writing. It’s not like anyone’s going to read this anyway until I’m dead, but Angel’s been my imaginary friend for years. I’m not sure for how long, but perhaps it was since fallen angel tropes took over YA fiction (say, my 5th grade years?) or since I got into Supernatural. It comforts me to have a hot imaginary friend I can banter and actually fight with to talk to. I guess my fixation on tall mysterious guys (and after watching Daddy Long Legs din pala last night) just played into my metaphorical love for Angel.

Dickkory Week: Day 3

Okay so I am a day late bc I spent yesterday just basically fixated on Titans trailer and venting/chatting about that. Like, I barely even did any stuff at work bc I was like on tumblr about it lmao.

ANYWAY. Here is Day 3 for yesterday. Today’s prompt will be posted later tonight.

I used 3 of the supposed 5 love languages. I used: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time & Physical Touch. I also just happened to use the literal idea of language as well lmao.

Love Language 

Laughter bubbled up from the characters on screen, some kind of pun having fallen from the main guy’s mouth at a rather inappropriate time. He grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his head as a blush took control over his cheeks. 

Kory and Dick both smiled lazily at the comedy movie they had on the TV as they relaxed in the comfort of their apartment, sat upon their sofa. Dick was sat with one arm leaning against the cushions of the sofa and the other draped across the back of it, behind Kory’s head as she remained huddled in the corner of the sofa.

Her legs were draped over her boyfriend’s lap, crossed at the ankles with a fluffy blanket strewn over their lower halves, protecting them from the slight chill in the air, signalling that Fall would soon be coming to an end if that and the orange leaves that fell from the tree outside were anything to go by.

Kory suddenly shifted, keeping her legs over Dick’s but snuggling into the arm that was just around her shoulders. She deeply inhaled his familiar scent before she rested her head on his chest, her smile widening as Dick played with a few tendrils of her long, auburn locks.

Her fingers found the material of his shirt, playing with it as she idly watched the movie. Dick smirked as he watched her movements, toying with his shirt simply for the want to be in contact with him in some way. 

The thumping beneath the skin of his torso seemed to grow stronger; louder, like her presence alone raised his heart rate in a way akin to if he had just sprinted a marathon. 

He peered down at her, a true swell of contentment inside his chest.

Dick leaned down a little, just enough so that he could press a small kiss to her neck, making her squirm.

Kory giggled and sighed, “Yiv tu daktar…”

He blinked, having grown so accustomed to only hearing her speak English; the random use of her mother tongue had him thrown.

“What?” He chuckled,

Kory inclined her head to look up at him, “Hm?”

“You just said something in Tamaranian.”

Her eyes widened and a blush dripped across her face, like paint spilling down a wall, “Oh? I did not realize… I said ‘you are so sweet’.”

Dick smiled at the compliment but his curious mind and continuous thirst for knowledge had him pause and shuffle away from her a little,

“You know… I don’t think I ever really hear you speak it anymore. The only time really is when we first found you… and sometimes when you sing in the shower or mumble in your sleep.”

Kory raised a brow at him, “I mumble in my sleep?”

“Sometimes and it’s not always in English.”

She shrugged her shoulders and played with a long piece of hair cascading over her shoulder, “I know a selection of languages; some that are of this world and some that are from other planets… English and Tamaranian are the ones I know most… I suppose I cannot help but deviate to my first language every now and then.”

“Seems to be when you aren’t really thinking about it.” Dick surmised,

Kory nodded, “Yes… English is not my first language and… I believe it takes more concentration.”

“I think it’s cool. You’re like some kind of translator.”

His Princess laughed and shook her head, “So, if I get bored of leading the Titans and decide to get a day job like you have… translator is the one I should pursue?”

Dick grinned, “I mean, you could do a lot of things if you wanted to. Modelling would definitely be one for you too.”

Kory rolled her eyes, “Mhm…”

“I mean it. You’ve got the height and the looks. You could do it.”

She smirked and folded her arms over her chest, “Oh? And you wouldn’t mind if I were to model clothes and lingerie and be all over posters and billboards for all men to see?” 

Dick stared at her before he shook his head and waved his hand dismissively, “Okay. Nope. Translator. Do that instead.” 

Kory burst into laughter, letting her hands fall back into her lap, “Do not worry, my love. I think that a translator would be more enjoyable anyway.”

He chewed on his bottom lip, eyeing her with a sense of question riddled on his own face, “Hey, babe?”

“Yes?” She asked, her head rested against the back of the sofa so she could watch him,

“Do you think… you could teach me some Tamaranian?” 

Kory sat up straight, her eyebrows at her hairline in surprise, “Really?”

He lifted his shoulders and rubbed his neck in that sheepish way of his, “Well, yeah… I mean, I’ve always liked learning new languages and… what other humans can say they know a language from another planet that isn’t a fictional one?” He paused and smiled, “Sides… I think it would be nice. We always do things that are influenced by Earth since we live here… I’d like to know more about where you come from too.”

She tilted her head and smiled, one that softened her entire facial expression, “Oh, Dick…” 

He grinned and shuffled to get comfortable as he sat opposite her on the couch, “C’mon… teach me a few things now.”

Kory giggled, mirroring his position, “Like what?”

Dick shrugged, “I don’t know… whatever comes to mind.”

Tapping her fingertips against her chin, Kory considered and mulled over what things she could teach him that were simple enough for him to grasp. With a light bulb going off in her mind, she smiled and focused on him, clearing her throat.

“Gultach.”

“Gul-tack.” Dick tested, already knowing his pronunciation was off,

“Gultach.” Kory paused, “Tamaranian is more guttural than English… along the lines of German but more. My language is… aggressive sounding. The end sound should come from your throat… like when you are sick.”

Dick furrowed his brows in concentration and tried it again, “Gultach.”

He peered at her for approval and felt his heart melt when she beamed back at him, looking as though someone had just given her the best gift in the whole world. 

“Was that… better?” 

Kory nodded enthusiastically, “Oh! Much better, Dick. It is a case of grasping the somewhat scratchy roll in your throat.”

He nodded in understanding, “What does it mean?”

“Hello.” 

Dick grinned, “Cool. What else?”

Kory thought for a moment until she straightened her back again, signalling she had one for him, “Shu kareth Gu’anrei… Dick Grayson.” 

He deadpanned, “Seriously? We’re going from ‘Hello’ to something that sounds… way more advanced?”

She smirked, “I assure you, it is quite simple.”

“Easy for you to say, Miss I know a thousand languages fluently.” He scoffed,

Kory rolled her eyes, “I don’t know a thousand… It is more around a hundred.”

He did a double take and chuckled, “Oh, that’s better.” 

She grinned and tapped his knee, “Try it.”

“Shu… kareth... ” He sounded out, his forehead crinkling in confusion, “Uh… what was the next bit?”

“Gu’anrei.” 

“Gunray.”

“Gu’anrei.” Kory prompted, “There is a small pause which changes the words. Gu is like goo. Then, anrei is like… and ree but without the ‘D’ sound.”

Dick nodded and cleared his throat, “Shu kareth… Gu’anrei…” 

Kory smile and looked at him expectantly.

“Was… that not it?”

“You must say your name at the end.”

“Oh… Shu kareth Gu’anrei Dick Grayson.”

Kory gave him one of her thousand watt smiled and lightly clapped her hands together in appreciation for his efforts, “Very good, my love.”

He felt a jolt of pride spiral through him, feeling like he had achieved something special to be able to utter even one syllable of her language. 

“I can probably guess what that means in English but…” 

“It means, ‘My name is Dick Grayson.’” Kory elaborated,

Dick smirked and nodded his head, “Anything else you can think of?”

Her emerald gaze befell him and Kory could feel her heart swelling more and more with how much of an interest he was taking in her language and despite living on Earth for such a long time now, it was still nice to be reminded where she came from; for the right reasons.

She let her mind wander over how many times Dick had asked about Tamaran. From how she grew up, to Tamaranian traditions and even extending to learning about her family; Dick had always made sure to ask about her place of birth, rather than simply expecting her to conform to a lifestyle on Earth, with complete disregard to where she initially came from.

It was one of the things she truly adored about him; the level of respect and care he held for her was astounding and she loved him for it.

That’s when another idea popped into her mind of what to teach him next.

“I think I have another.” She murmured, her eyes clouded with warmth for the man sat before her,

“Shoot.” He grinned, oblivious to the inner emotions she was experiencing,

“Aku d’marai.” 

Dick brightened, “That doesn’t sound as difficult as the last one.” 

Her eyes shimmered as she watched him, “It is not commonly used on my world but it is an important statement, nonetheless.”

With a curt nod, Dick went over it multiple times in his head before he lifted his chin, “Aku… d’marai…”

She bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself smiling too much but she did nod to him, “Perfect.”

Dick beamed at her like a kid who had just received the seal of approval from their parents or something, proud of himself for managing to get some of her language right. He was still a long way off being fluent, he knew that but it was definitely a start.

He noticed that in all of his excitement of learning a few foreign phrases, he’d absently shifted closer to her, so much so they were merely inches away from one another. With a slight lean, he could be brushing the tip of his nose against hers.

Suddenly breathless, his eyes searched her heart shaped face, printing everything to memory. The gorgeous haze in her eyes, the soft glow of her skin, the perfect line of her nose before he let his eyes drop to her mouth. Her lips were just flawless; a cupid bow shape that was full and completely kissable.

“So… what did that one mean?” He asked, his blue eyes locked on her solid green ones,

Kory smiled softly and tilted her head, gently raising her fingertips to his face and running them along the angle of his jaw,

“It means… ‘I love you’.”

Dick suddenly matched her expression; every feature softening on his face as he reached a hand to her neck, just cupping her face,

“I’ll need to remember that one.”

“Mhm.” Kory murmured before Dick closed the distance, molding his lips to hers and reveling in the spark sensations that made her whole mouth tingle.

As she continued to kiss her boyfriend, Kory couldn’t help but wonder why she had never thought of teaching him until now. But, she decided, better late than never.

THE ALBUM YES. so ive been looking forward to it for literally months, this is actually my first skz album release as a stay (since the last on was 9 months ago) i was sitting there hitting refresh on my spotify the second 6pm kst came around. (speaking of which, how did you do the release? i couldnt decide whether to watch or listen first but i ended up on listening cos there would be more material) okay: so cheese was super cool, very skz ya know? tho i almost wish theyd made domino the title track, tho obv it was a more experimental track and would have been a bit controversial (much like whistle for bp) i looooved domino and thunderous was absolutely impeccable. all the songs were amazing but standouts were- secrets, secrets which lowkey made me tear up idk why, red lights which almost killed me (it did not have to go that hard, but it did) and OT8 WOLFGANG omgggg i wasnt sure if hyunjin was going to be included in it but i was hoping and, ya know people had said hed be in there, but the further i got in, the less i was sure and then BAM hyunjin started what had been jisung's part and i just sat there grinning for about 5 minutes. surfin was absolutely adorable and gone away almost made me cry AGAIN. star lost was so touching, almost a nod to hyunjins little star? silent cry was relatable beyond anything. SSICK was funny? for some reason I was laughing while it was playing, idk the combination of added cheering and minhos aggressiveness and the totall seriousness they sung it. but i rlly enjoyed it. sorry i love you showcased their vocals like nothing else. the view is THE BOP of 2021, absolutely going to be stuck in my head for the next decade, that hook is genius. what did you think?

oh yeah, abt quarantine having an effect. my friend and i talked about this earlier actually. i didn't realize the world was moving so fast until the pandemic happened. being in quarantine gave me time to think and i got to know myself more. it's just the sole good thing i got out of the isolation lmao. and abt my strict parents, ironically i got to go out today so i got to hang out with a few of my bestfriends. i had fun but my legs are a bit sore from walking. but they're a different set of friends. i'll get to hang out with the others when my getaway driver comes home in december.

hmm music recommendations for writing? depends on the plot you're writing. care to share what story you're working on and i'll try to rake my brain for a song that might match the vibe. i listen to classical / lo-fi if i don't have song inspo for a fic because lyrics sometimes distract me.

You’re kinda distracted/have headphones on so you don’t hear your boyfriend knock on the front door. Your mom answers it and lets him in and he climbs the stairs

You jump in surprise when he opens the door, because you thought he would be a bit later but immediately release your pent up excitement

Tooru gets it - for him its space, shitty alien films and astronomy. For you it’s video games and anime - or more specifically, handsome characters from said franchises

Even though he understand that it’s something you’re passionate about he still makes a whole show about whining how you’re in love with Levi Ackerman (lmao i still thirst over our favorite captain) instead of him

The rest of the team finds it hilarious - the end up pranking him by posting pictures of Levi in his school locker or texting them in the volleyball groupchat (Oikawa is Suffering™)

Miya Atsumu

Doesn’t really know you’re into anime/gaming at first

I don’t think that’s on purpose - Atsumu just has such a one track mind when it comes to volleyball and he’s always busy with practice

so he just kinda doesn’t really give all the anime merch in your room a second glance even though it’s a dead giveaway

I bet Atsumu secretly watches some superhero anime - probably shounen stuff like My Hero Academia, one punch man etc. 

He probably starts to notice you’re into anime/games because you’ll play games on your phone/gaming device all the time 

One day he notices you’re giggling + blushing while looking at your screen. He’s curious to he heads over to you when coach says they can have a break

Peeks over your shoulder because he wants to know what you’re playing - but instead he’s greeted by some 2D samurai guy called Harada Sanosuke asking you to marry him 

“Huh, I didn’t know you were into this kinda stuff y/n” tries to sound playful but internally he is screaming / ?????? WOT I DIDN’T KNOW MY S/O WAS INTO OTOME GAMES

Look, Issei just wants a chill movie/tv show night where the two of you can bundle up on the couch and binge whatever anime you feel like

Has everything set up - this man is ready to go: snacks? he has all of your favorites, couch? filled with soft pillows + multiple pillows. Attire? Comfy sweatpants shirtless 🥵

Last time he chose the series for your binge sleepover so he let you choose what the two of you were gonna watch this time 

Turns out you decided to watch Psycho-Pass - it seemed like a pretty cool show, he was down with the whole dystopia/psychological concept

Starts out pretty normal, is appreciating the action + mystery elements and is glad that you chose that show 

About halfway through the anime you two decide to take a break - he goes to the kitchen to refill your snacks, leaving to stretch you back.

When he comes back with more food, he notices that you’re hunched over your phone, typing something

Now that he’s released the floodgate, he can’t stop your occasional comments like “omg how does he look so GOOD when he’s punching someone” or “he could shoot me with his dominator and i’d still say thank you” 

The thirst comments are kinda getting to him, so he decides to take things in a different direction

Suddenly you’re being pulled onto his lap, and pressed against his bare chest, Issei barely gives you time to adjust before he’s kissing you roughly, tongue plunging into your mouth

His hands wrap around your hips pressing your core closer to his own, and you can feel his hard-on pressing into your stomach

What is your name? Charlotte

How old are you? 21

How would you describe your cultural background? The only thing about my cultural background that I know for certain is that my dad’s side of the family are French Canadian and all live up in Quebec. My mother’s side is harder to pinpoint because they don’t have a complete family tree anywhere, probably European.

What languages do you speak? My main language is English and I know a decent amount of French. By that I mean I can read it and understand it, but trying to talk to people is much harder.

How tall are you? 5′5″

What are your best physical features? Well, I really like my hair and how curly it is. I really like my eyes too, they’re hazel.

What makes you feel beautiful or strong? 80% of the time I definitely don’t feel beautiful or strong, but I suppose the few times that I do are when I wear an outfit that makes me feel good or listening to upbeat music. Otherwise I have no idea how to answer this lol

Can you tell me a secret? I own an Oppan Gangam Style Funko Pop from when that was still a thing. I don’t know why I still keep it but he’s there lmao

Can you describe your personality by only stating the names of three fictional characters? Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, Daria Morgandorffer from Daria, and April Ludgate-Dwyer from Parks and Rec.

When did you start watching The Walking Dead? After it was announced that Jeff was going to play Negan. At the time I was up to date on the comics and I loved Jeff as the Comedian in Watchman so I figured he’d do a good job. That being said I still haven’t seen the entire show all the way through yet, just seasons 1-3 and 7-8 LOL

If you could rewrite one storyline on TWD, which would it be and why? I’m still annoyed with how slow moving the first half of season 2 was. The second half after Sophia walks out of the barn as a walker is pretty good, but I would have loved to see a bit more substance to the first half of the season, especially when a lot of characters are doing nothing around the farm or god forbid spend an entire episode trying to get a zombie out of a well to get the water when the water was probably infected anyways from the walker being down there in the first place. I wouldn’t drink that water, not sure why they wanted to lol

Was there a character whose death you celebrated on TWD? Spencer. Always Spencer.

Which character death made you sob like a small child? Merle Dixon. I mean, I won’t go into it because anyone that follows my blog knows how much I love Michael Rooker, but damn. He was an amazing character and actually began to have a bit of an arc in his development before being killed sacrificing himself to try to kill the Governor. That will always make me sad, especially when Daryl breaks down after finding Merle as a walker D:

Where would you take up residency in TWD universe: Alexandria, The Kingdom, Hilltop, The Sanctuary etc.? Honestly, the Kingdom would be pretty cool to live in. As much as I love Negan and Sanctuary, every time I see the Kingdom it just... looks like a Kingdom, you know?

What would be your weapon of choice in the zombie apocalypse? While I would probably be better off using my brain (because I’m not good at fighting at all), I’d probably use a baseball bat. I played baseball a lot as a kid so I know my way around a bat.

What would be in your zombie apocalypse bag? Probably a decent amount of food and water, a couple notebooks and pens to write things down and keep track of stuff. Maybe my lighter to help start a fire, some basic medical stuff just in case. A picture or two of my family. There’s probably tons of other stuff too but I can’t think of anything else at the moment lol

If you were a character on TWD, what would be your theme song, and why? Okay it took me FOREVER to decide on this one, but I think it would have to be “No More Mr. Nice Guy” by Alice Cooper. It’s probably a cliche choice, but as I’m a person that is kind of shy and tries to please everyone, during the apocalypse I would expect myself to turn after taking too much of that, just like the lyrics imply lol

You are the moral compass of the group in TWD universe, what would be the lesson that you would preach? As much as this is probably tiring to hear at this point, I’d probably preach more about how the group should focus on working with other groups to deal with the walkers. I mean, we know how well that’s been working out right now... LOL

How would you rather die on the show: turning into a walker or being killed by another human? I’d rather be killed by another person. I can’t imagine being turned into a walker, so I’d rather just go out by a human.

Who is your favourite character played by JDM? I still have a really fond spot for The Comedian. I loved the Watchman movie and the comic, and Comedian is one of my favorite characters next to Rorschach. Jeff portrays him so fantastically, and he was the perfect choice.

Okay, let’s spice things up: daddy kink, yay or nay? That would be a resounding Hell YEAH

If you answered yes to the previous question: do you now have one because of JDM? Not because of him, but he made me realize I’d always had one since I was in high school after looking back at all the other male characters I thirsted over. Freddy Krueger, Beetlejuice, Jareth the Goblin King, etc.

What is your ultimate JDM/JDM character fantasy? Oh man... Negan and dirty talk, definitely. His voice is sooooooo hot and I’d honestly love to be alone with him as he whispers all the dirty things he’d like to do to me in my ear... and then doing them ;)

Would you really join Negan’s harem given the choice? I’m going to be brutally honest here, as much as I’d like to say I’d be an independent woman and take care of myself, knowing who I am I’d probably join his harem if he asked. Of course he’s attractive and all, but from a survival standpoint he’s the leader of Sanctuary and makes sure his wives are taken care of. I mean, knowing myself as a wife, I’d probably get stir crazy and do something productive with my time instead of lounging around doing nothing, but otherwise I’d definitely be looking out for my best interests. Negan provides a certain level of protection and security that would be hard to come by elsewhere.

What words remind you of Negan? Charismatic, dominant, powerful.

You’re locked alone in an ATM vestibule with JDM, what are you going to do? The same would apply to whether this is a situation where he’s single or not, I’d clam up and be screaming internally while I’m stuck in an enclosed space with a hot dude. He’d probably have to calm me down before I faint lmao

If you could describe sex with Negan through a song, which song would you pick? If we’re still on the subject of Alice Cooper songs... “Bed of Nails.” Seriously, just look at the chorus and say that isn’t Negan:

If Negan had given you the choice to pick a person to die from the lineup, which character would be on Lucille’s receiving end? Everyone is going to hate me, but Daryl. From a writing standpoint, he hasn’t been interesting in a while. It’s like they give stuff to Daryl when they don’t know what other character to use.

Do you write any fanfiction, create content for any fandom blogs etc.? (If so, reblog something you’re most proud of and tag me in it!) I write fanfiction for TWD, and have written for Negan, Merle, Daryl, and Simon. Also for some of Michael Rooker’s other characters, like Yondu and Grant Grant. I’ll tag you in my favorite Negan fics I’ve written :P

Finally, what is the one thing you want your followers to know about you? Hmmmm I’m really not sure. I mean, other than the fact that writing is something I love to do so much and I’m thankful to have such lovely followers that follow my blog and enjoy the stuff I do. <3
