idk if i'm just a joyless feminist buzzkill or something but i find the instareels/tiktok trend of joking about "when the workday starts feeling like women fighting for equal work was a mistake" "women in the past fought for equal opportunities and now i have to go in the office when i could be staying home to cook 🙄" so DEEPLY unfunny. leaving aside that housewives work equally hard it's just unpaid, also leaving aside how the idea that women never worked and just tended the home is ahistorical--Women's financial independence is a joke to you? Women being able to choose their own life path instead of being forced to rely on men for survival is funny? Go talk to a woman who couldn't leave her abusive husband because she had no work history and no way of financially supporting herself and I think you'll find it significantly less amusing.

sometimes people who struggle like to make jokes or find positives about their condition that causes them to struggle so they can escape the constant negative and struggle. sometimes autistic people will say things like "the 'tism" or use the "autism creature" or say their autism helped them have a *positive trait* to feel better about their struggles. because living your life only focusing on the struggles and negatives is depressing and makes it hard to want to live, even if those struggle take up 100% of your life and you can't actually escape them. sometimes any little seemingly positive thing can help a lot.

but there's so many other autistic people that hate when we do that and call it "reducing autism to a cute trendy thing" and say it takes away from *their* struggles and is bad and shouldn't be used. maybe *you* want to only focus on your struggles, but some people can't live in constant negative and need some positive or to find ways to make their condition more positive so they can feel better about living with their struggles. life is hard. I take anything I can get.

I cant get jobs. I can't make and keep friends. I can't get help and support for doing "normal" things so sometimes I go weeks without being able to shower and without eating more than a bowl of cereal a day. most times can't even do things I like. struggle to communicate. have meltdowns. i'll never be able to live independently. I struggle a lot. but instead of sitting here always depressed and having no motivation to live, i'd rather try to joke about "my 'tism is acting up again" when i'm struggling (just an example. don't think I ever actually used the 'tism thing but i saw others use it) or say "i'm just being a creature" when I need to stay in my dark room because everything is too much and I personally find it cute to be a little creature meant in a positive way. i'm not actually downplaying mine or anyone else's struggles. I still acknowledge them and that silly jokes dont make them go away. i'm not trying to be trendy. i'm not doing any of the things people say we do by making silly little jokes. i'm using the silly little jokes to convince myself life can be a little more than pointless, painful garbage all the time.

L. favourite fic of yours?

gonna throw you a curveball here. while i love the question choices, i also don't want to tag someone with a post that's gushing about their story and then in the same breath talk about something i don't like. so! as you all know, i've been into KimChay for A Hot Min, so let's take a min to gush over one of my favorite lil fics that's been around since the beginning of the BOC airing:

reverence is a little collection of KimChay vignettes. it's what i would consider 'old' KimChay fandom because it has a lot of influence from the Filmania kp trailer and novel versions of them, but it still largely reads as Kim and Chay and everything's little snapshots that can be as connected or unconnected as you want to read them (ft the occasional AU chucked in for flavoring). i really like vignettes so it's very happy days for me whenever i feel like dipping my toes back into this fic for a reread 🤗

M. least favourite fic of yours?

i'm not gonna trash talk anyone's fic here, something that's not for me can just be not read by me, and that's that. so! instead i'm gonna call this the continuation of the Kim tea ask, because there was one important take i completely forgot about when answering that question lol:

☕ fic that shit talks WDYS

this includes: every damn fic that had some variation of Chay saying "YOU WERE THE ONE THAT LEFT". tell me you didn't pay attention to the lyrics without telling me you didn't pay attention to the lyrics. Jeff did not pour his blood sweat tears and more into that song for y'all to dismiss it like this. BOC did not completely rework Kim's storyline to include music so that he sung this to Chay as an apology for this. also, similar weird take that goes hand-in-hand with the dismissals: Kim did not """"steal Chay's song"""" -- WDYS is the song they literally worked on together. Kim is helping Chay write it on screen. Kim finishing it as an apology to Chay to explain Why He's Like This is a really good step towards a reconciliation between the two of them actually.

i just. aurgh. it's a fantastic song that is basically the thesis statement of kinnporsche: the series, for all three pairings, and it's just really annoying to see yet another fic ignore all of that to play off the one english line for a cheap shot at Kim. ik a decent chunk of my irritation here is the number of stories vs any story specifically, and it's not like there's ever a limit on how many times a concept will be used, but. ugh. i do not care for it At All.

ahhh probably the final chapter of dear christopher! it's sitting there staring at me and begging to be finished. after that, i'm not sure which one will be next 🤔 there's plenty to choose from, that's for sure ahaha

Alastair would panic about the fact that this is the first time they’ve ever sat together like this but Thomas continues with, ‘I’m not a party type, and I’m not fond of crowds, so when I’m in situations like that with a bunch of strangers, I… well, I either spend my time eating like a horse or drinking whatever gets put into my hands.’       ‘That’s very dangerous,’ Alastair scolds. oh geez, there's a ton of those! thomastair in their thirties and forties, more missing scene fics from canon, and i'd like to dip my toes into writing other ships/characters too like herondaisy, arianna and gracetopher - not to mention our TID gang (ESPECIALLY sophideon, my beloveds ♡). oh and more aus of course, because i wouldn't be living up to my username if i didn't want to write those ahaha

The post talks a bit more in what games are used for the film, as well as what the writers and director wants. Sonic 3 is not going to be a 100% game rewrite. However, we can expect inspiration of SA 1, SA 2, Shadow’s solo game, and Sonic 3 (1994).

top 5 favorite movies?

In no particular order...

"Groundhog Day" Possibly my ultimate wish-fulfillment fantasy movie? (which is a pretty disturbing statement if you stop to think about it - might need to bring this up in therapy 😅) Unlimited time to learn... everything, help others, break bad habits, and end up with a healthy loving relationship? I'm not in as bad a place as Phil Connors was at the start, but still... yes, please. (and a relationship that was kind of D/s? His line is literally "Is there anything I can do for you... today?" - to which she responds very sultrily "mmm... I'm sure I can think of *something*..." while literally glancing down between them (and she's looking from a 'higher' viewpoint?!?!? ...let's move on 😅)

"Entrapment" Look, I have no defense. 😂 It's absurd, it's over-the-top, it's fun, it run fast, and it has Catherine Zeta-Jones doing that 👀.

"Shrek" I mean... more wish-fulfillment, in a sense? My nickname in school actually was "Ogre", and there's a lot of me there - isolated partly because of introversion, partly because I didn't (don't 😬) believe anyone could put up with me; occasionally funny; secretly kind... who gets to have a great adventure and finds a supportive friend and love with a lady who ends up being just as weird as he is and they revel in their mutual weirdness? *sigh*... And the movie itself?

It really is that good.

"Charade" One of the best little-known movies - has a little bit of everything: mystery, thriller, action, horror, comedy, romance... all done excellently (though it's hard to go wrong when you're starting with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant), with at least two twists that are actually iconic (even if no one realizes where they're from).

"The Princess Bride" This is a great movie from start to finish. As close to perfect as cinema gets! If you don't love this movie, I have some serious questions for you at the very least.
