Sometimes I feel like I'm putting the dial up to 11 a little too much, because Aventurine has always been a sweetheart on the outside, and toxic fubu is a little "one-facet" read on him but like, I just really am tired of him being characterized as a baby damsel uwu uke when he's actually a dudebro deep down. My friend on twitter succinctly puts it— "Aventurine is always where he wants to be, whether or not he is happy about it is another question entirely" and I have been thinking long and hard about this, to ne he is "where he is most advantageous in position" such as being a Stoneheart in the IPC but whether or not he is happy to be there is irrelevant, he is where he would be able to do what he wants with the most effectivity etc etc. His cornerstone is literally "Stratagems" which is also turning a bad situation into a good one.

So regarding uhh how Aventurine would be with Ratio during this era— I don't touch upon this in fics because I am waiting for Diamond appearance, but my personal headcanon is that Diamond periodically sends moles as potential partners to Aventurine as a way to fuck with him and potentially gain more influence/control over him. I kinda want to explain his fuck boy-ness through this, he knows he's being lead on, he is being baited, and he's playing the game and using the people sent to him in turn.

Aliyah

Aliyah claims to hate humans but there are a few very obvious exceptions. This Genie has a soft spot for a certain kind of people.

She surprisingly loves sleeping. She loves it so much she's spent more than a few years straight napping.

As Genies go, her abilities are quite limited to the whims of those who own the lamp. In the meantime, all their power goes as far as being smoke and mirrors (illusions, or plain nothing).

Nathan is a guardian angel so he's basically at the bottom of the social ladder (at least prior to falling lol). He's also pretty young things considered, most angels are old old.

The GCPD isn't an accepting or supportive place to work so he sleeps with women to protect himself. He's trying so hard to come off as straight. I mean, he and Scottie were engaged within less than a year of being together. I headcanon Fish as his beard. He wants to kiss Jim so badly.

Oswald Cobblepot - Transgender FTM, He/Him, Gay, and Asexual.

He would be offended and confused if you thought he was straight. Oswald is very open about his identity and will beat the shit out of you for misgendering him. He doesn't care about sex but is fine engaging in it if his partner (Ed) wants to. Gertrude was the most supportive person ever and always gave Oswald unconditional love. When he was younger all he really wanted was to be a boy when he grew up.

Jonathan Crane - Transgender FTM, He/They, Gay, Demromantic and Asexual.

He knew he was a boy from a very young age. Realised he didn't mind using they/them when he was a teenager and started to use both he/him and they/them. He thought he was gay early on because of his lack of interest in girls but started to question if he was aroace when he got older. They realised they were demiromantic when he grew a crush on his best friend at the time.

Harvey Dent - Cisgender, He/Him, Bisexual.

I think he has a preference for women but only slightly. Definitely uses his two-headed coin to flirt with people and it actually works more often than not. Knew he was bi from a young age.

Ecco - Cisgender, She/Her, Lesbian.

She and Jeremiah are in a queerplatonic relationship. She could get a girlfriend if she really wanted but isn't interested at the moment. The most dedicated girlfriend you could ever have. Falls hard. Had an 'oh fuck' moment in high school when she realised she was a lesbian.

Sofia Falcone - Cisgender, She/Her, Bisexual.

Strikes me as someone who isn't focused on romance or sex but could get a boyfriend or girlfriend if she put time and effort into it. I think she has a preference for women.

Lucius Fox - Cisgender, He/Him, Gay.

Acts cool but is probably a gay disaster on the inside. Tries to flirt and is semi-successful when he does. Says he's too busy with work to find a boyfriend and is slightly lonely. Doesn't try to hide his sexuality and has no problem telling people he's gay.

Victor Fries - Cisgender, He/Him, Bisexual.

Preference for men. He isn't that open about his sexuality but still acts surprised when no one knows he's bisexual. Is very casual about it. I see him as a very quiet and respectful person when showing his attraction to both men and women and just prefers keeping his feelings to himself.

Nora Fries - Cisgender, She/Her, Bisexual.

No real preference for either men or women. Would try and flirt with women but it would be seen as something platonic. She and Victor had matching pride shirts.

Tabitha Galavan - Cisgender, She/Her, Bisexual.

Preference for women. I like to think the first person she murdered was a homophobe. Could pull any man or woman she wanted and no one can convince me otherwise. She either just kills any person who is homophobic or transphobic in her presence or beats the shit out of them as Oswald does.

Butch Gilzean - Cisgender, He/Him, Straight

Raised with respect. The two most important women in his life, Fish and Tabitha, were bisexual so he is very much an ally. Type of guy to tell somebody off for making an offensive comment, verbally or physically. He, Tabitha and Barbara were in a polyamorous relationship.

Jim Gordon - Cisgender, He/Him, Bisexual.

Preference for women. Growing up he had some internalized homophobia but he overcame it as he got older. He falls for any pretty girl who ever so slightly flirts with him. I think he likes men who are either mean with a soft side or just a bit of a bastard(Harvey and Oswald). He and Harvey are both in love with each other but are just too stupid to admit it to one another.

Barbara Kean - Cisgender, She/Her, Bisexual.

Male preference. Had some internalized homophobia until she killed her parents and became free. Went to an all-girls school where she had a few girlfriends before getting in trouble for dating other women. Probably pegged Jim.

Kristen Kringle - Cisgender, She/Her, Omnisexual, Greyromantic.

Male preference. To me, she only showed sexual attraction towards her boyfriends before Ed, even then I think she and Ed would've been better off as friends. She very rarely experiences romantic attraction but when she does I think she'd be a little awkward about it. Kristen definitely pegged Ed. She and Lee would've been cute together. They're very dear to my heart.

Selina Kyle - Cisgender, She/Her, Bisexual, Demiromantic.

Female preference. She's had crushes on both Ivy and Bridgit. Acts like she's annoyed by her loved ones but would kill and die for them. She's protective and caring even if she denies it. Has only had romantic feelings for her friends. She has trouble admitting her romantic feelings for people. Barbara and Tabitha are her badass bi mentors.

Fish Mooney - Cisgender, She/Her, Bisexual.

No preference. Flirts with everyone. Doesn't tolerate anyone's homophobic bullshit. The biggest eyerolls. The greatest gaydar in all of Gotham city. One look at Oswald and Harvey and she knew they were both lonely little gay men. Harvey's beard.

Edward Nygma - Transgender FTM, Genderfluid, He/She/They, Bisexual.

Preference for women. The king of internalized homophobia. His whole arc in the show was him denying his bisexuality and feelings for Oswald. The Riddler is sick of Ed's compulsory heterosexuality. Hated his female body and started to transition during uni. Ed was comfortable having a male body but didn't understand why he was only sometimes comfortable being seen and referred to as a man. This led to him discovering that he was genderfluid as an adult. Never told anyone until Oswald and only become open about his gender identity after he and the Riddler became whole in s3. The worst at flirting but simultaneously the sweetest.

Alfred Pennyworth - Cisgender, He/Him, Straight

Does his best for Bruce. And I mean does. Biggest ally you'll ever meet. If anybody bullies his boy for who he is be prepared to be slapped the fuck out of. All he wants is for Bruce to be safe and happy and if Alfred has to teach somebody a lesson in respect, so be it.

Ivy Pepper - Cisgender, She/Her, Lesbian.

Disaster lesbian. Had a fat crush on Selina when she was younger, and still does though slightly less. Her feelings have pivoted more towards Bridgit. The original plant lesbian. Oswald is her disaster gay role model. Expert in the language of flowers and gives personalised bouquets to her crushes.

Bridgit Pike - Demigirl, She/They, Lesbian.

Oblivious to people's interest in her. She never really got the chance to explore any romantic interest they had with the women in her life before being burned due to her home life. She doesn't really know how to deal with romantic or sexual feelings. They never really fully felt like a girl and felt that there was something else to them. So the use of they/them and she/her pronouns felt natural to Bridgit.

Jervis Tetch - Cisgender, He/Him, Biromantic, Demisexual.

Male preference. Had a fucking heart attack when he had his first male crush. He had no idea what to do. Felt so guilty about it. He's just kinda pushed his bisexuality down. He started to accept his bisexuality as he got older and fully accepted himself by the time Alice died. I see him as someone who thinks sex is intimate and I think he'd only want to perform sexual acts with a partner who he'd found a real bond with. Thinks he is really romantic but his lack of romantic experience says otherwise.

Alice Tetch - Cisgender, She/Her, Lesbian.

I don't know why I think this, I just do. It's just the impression she gave me. She and Bridgit could've been arson girlfriends. Always knew she was gay just never got the chance to have a girlfriend.

Leslie Thompkins - Cisgender, She/Her, Pansexual.

Growing up, she didn't really understand why gender was a big deal to some people, if somebody was attractive they were attractive, why did it matter? At university, she discovered what the term pansexual meant and realised that it fit her perfectly. Has three types, dark and badass (Jim and Barbara), sweet and adorable (Kristen) or a mix of the two (Ed).

Valerie Vale - Cisgender, She/Her, Bisexual.

Male preference. Flirts with her sources all the time. She and Lee gave me some gay vibes honestly. Nothing is more romantic than teaching your boyfriend's ex how to lock pick when trying to escape from her own home and a crazy man in a tophat.

Jerome Valeska - Cisgender, He/Him, Bisexual.

Chaotic bisexual with no preference. Flirts with almost everybody. Used to bully Jeremiah for being gay (not severely just little comments) and then cried when he had his first male crush when he was little. He's perfectly happy and open with his sexuality now, he was just a homophobic little shit instead of a gay little shit when he was really small. Never been in a real romantic relationship before so he's useless when it comes to real romance.

Jeremiah Valeska - Cisgender, He/Him, Gay.

Disaster gay. Always knew he was gay. Used to watch male guests at the circus from behind the trailers. Jerome made fun of him for it until he had his gay panic and joined him. Can't flirt for shit but tries his best. Touch starved. Kinda lonely. As I've said before he and Ecco are in a queerplatonic relationship.

Bruce Wayne - Transgender FTM, He/Him, Bisexual

Preference for women. Started to transition at the start of s2. Felt wrong being in the body of a girl since he was very little. The only therapist he's been to is a gender therapist from outside of Gotham. He's just a little sweetheart. He does his best to impress his crushes. Overall, he's just doing his best to cope with his romantic feelings for people (Selina). I like the idea of Jim and Lucius being his older queer role models.

Victor Zsasz - Cisgender, He/Him, Pansexual.

He just doesn't care what somebody's gender is. If you're hot you're hot and he's going to flirt with you. Very blunt when admitting his sexual and physical attraction. Difficult to decipher if he's into you or if he wants to annoy the fuck out of you when it comes to his romantic pursuits. Breaks into his crush's houses and does shit like drink all their milk. Clingy.

Heeeyyy love the story. Obsessed with Irme.. can't say that enough but I just read the previous ask about how the siblings reacted to Mc being sent away. And Orlas kinda drew my attention. You mentioned they wouldn't have cared if MC wanted to go or not or even if they were treated well.

It brought up a point I've kinda been struggling with so I apologize if my thoughts are rambling and silly. But Orla sounds like a bitch! Like a for real cold bully.

1. If that's what they were behind all the fake I'm the best princess in the land bs.. did the family know they were basically bullying MC and did they just allow it?

2. Her bf hated MC for no fucking reason right. And the pair of them seemingly from what I gathered in the demo made MCs life hell. Wouldn't we then essentially be romancing our previous tormenter? Not quite enemies to lovers but literal bully to lover route? And if that's the case isn't that gonna have some sort of effect on MC and his dead sisters ex? How do you go about trying to be in a relationship with someone you previously helped torment? Like I knew the whole trying to date ur dead siblings leftovers was Like a can of worms as you have stated before in regards to that relationship and if you choose to Romance them but doesn't that add another layer of emotions? How could you look at your partner lovingly knowing all the shit you helped put them through before?

I really love how much thought you have for this, it makes me feel flattered. So let me answer this….

1. The thing is the perfect princess act wasn’t entirely an act. orla did believe she was meant to be perfect and her whole life was devoted to achieving that which drove her insane because you can’t achieve perfection. And she saw her bullying of mc as right, as deserved, it wasn’t an imperfection in her eyes. The parents knew but like I said orla was adored, prudence never punished her and Victor wasn’t all that present as a parent. sally of course knew and he’s the reason orla never escalated because he stood firm between them. percy and yeah he did acknowledge she was cruel but he didn’t do anything to stop it.

2. It wasn’t for no reason. lorcan didn’t hate mc because orla did. lorcan actually didn’t mind mc he didn’t think badly of them, even when orla began really hating them he personally didn’t understand and didn’t partake in it. its when mc did something that personally affected him badly that he began hating them. it never got to orla’s level of torment. he did taunt them, try to provoke them, and had moments where he wanted to strangle them but a lot of the times it was a shimmering anger that was constantly present and thus made mc into an obsession.

The reason I don’t label it a bully romance is because mc took it from orla but they didn’t take it from lorcan they aren’t scared of him and even if you play mc as nice they aren’t a pushover and gave lorcan equal verbal lashings in the past. orla because she is older and no one views her as being able to do wrong and has a position of power over mc (in the crown household there is a hierarchy and it’s not a surprise that mc is at the bottom) lorcan does not, he and mc are on equal footing. actually given that lorcan is from a poorer disgraced family he has a slightly less power.

All the ROs have a degree of unhealthiness to them, even nia who’s supposedly mc’s best friend. Some are more intense than others and it has all to do with the nature of these characters, none of them are healthy people.

And don’t apologize orla is a bitch and I admire the that make story makes you think about this 💜

I like how the first half of the season is directed on saving the TVA, as opposed to last season's agenda of destroying it. The irony is way too funny.

Though it doesn’t get spelled out in the text enough to give it an incest count, I find it interesting how not only Victor holds power over the Creature’s love life – it’s entirely on him to give the Creature a partner – but also the Creature holds power over Victor’s love life – Victor notes that he can’t enter marriage before he has fulfilled his promise. Kind of “a bride for me before a bride for you” lindworm prince dealie.

Gotta love how he secretly wishes for the Creature to just die in some accident so poor widdle baby Victor doesn’t have to bear the consequences of his actions any longer. How inconvenient that this guy exists! Wonder whose fault that is.

How does he wanna make a new Creature in about a year? Didn’t he need at least two for the first?

Is it possible Mary Shelley is putting too much time into these travels in an attempt to be historically accurate to a time before her lifetime? This “we need four freaking months to go anywhere” feels kind of medieval, if even that. But there’s London, here’s the fan, and the shit is already incoming.

While Frankenstein is a brilliant piece of literature, it occasionally shows how young Shelley was when she wrote it. The poor time transitions, the heavy-handed foreshadowing, the POV lapses here and there, the occasions when the plot just screeches to a halt to give us a ton of exposition, the way detailed descriptions. Kind of typical for a new writer, even in our times. I'm still blaming the husband for the purple prose and thesaurus syndrome tho.

call it self indulgent but i adore his family that existed. i love pulling info about linda, katherine && victor. his wife, daughter && son. he was a family man, he was supposed to be, && he was good at it. he wasn't a perfect father, his own was pretty absent, but he did his best. neither of his children ever felt the way he did, having to vie for his attention or affection, so he did a good job as far as he's concerned. they all went to heaven, victor he is positive will also end up there, so fuck it, he accomplished his hopes. they're living great lives && afterlives. he misses them all greatly, but he is happy for them.

📝 Favorite headcanon for your muse? 

his stupid head! i enjoy really mysterious looking appearances, && i did some research before deciding what it might look like if you removed vox's head. not only can he exist within other screen vessels ( although very much anchored to this one ), but if he so chose, he could re - anchor to another vessel if he had to with enough time && power. but also, that he can exist without a head at all, something i settled on during the blood ball event! it requires removal while conscious && if done poorly, would not be great && lead to a shut down, not quite death but very vulnerable. the inside of a flat screen is filled with various gasses that react with everything else, which is how you get a display, so that's all you get to see, is this concentrated bubble of gas. very grillby of undertale / calcifer of howls moving castle as my partner pointed out. there's a void of nothingness inside the core, too. i just love it all.

ohhhh fuck suguru in a hunger games au is so enchanting to me because... i think his games and the aftermath of them REALLY send him off of the deep end. i think he's a career, probably from a district like one or two where capital loyalty is strong. i also think he volunteers at 18 and i think that the end of his games particularly scar him because he'd been forced to kill his district partner.

after his games.. suguru comes back relatively the same and people are pulled in by his cool exterior and pretty face. the people in his district love him, the capitol loves him, and other victors love (or loathe) him. especially satoru. him and satoru get on well. thick as thieves after their first two years as mentors, but suguru doesn't have the constitution that satoru has. he has more of a proclivity to doom and he begins to succumb to it as he sends others into the arena.

he becomes vengeful, but not in a tactful way, and it gets his family killed. it gets his friends killed. it puts his districts tributes in danger because the capitol punishes him with the deaths of others like him. unlike satoru, who uses his status to his advantage, suguru begins to shy away, retreating into his own personal circle.

i don't think this version of suguru commits mass murder, but i do think he goes off of his rocker just a little bit. his games haunt him, the idea that he was only a kid, that he was tricked into protecting and then subsequently killing his district partner. suguru cannot take the loss and he struggles with the blood on his and the capitol's hands. yes, satoru has been through the same, but suguru takes it more personally. it becomes something that he cannot willfully attempt to shake off. his loyalty to the capitol and his trauma and anger clash in a deeply destructive way.

he's removed from the cameras, from events, he mentors from behind the scenes (if at all), and when a new winner from his district takes over, no one from the capitol ever hears from him again. satoru does though. satoru tries to connect with him as best he can from another district and when people ask with sullen eyes what good could ever come from the games, he can't help but look back on meeting suguru. i think suguru becomes someone satoru feels the need to protect, even if suguru is perfectly capable of protecting himself to an almost selfish degree (given his careless behavior that resulted in the deaths of so many others). but satoru doesn't blame him. fear does weird things to a person. the games do weird things to a person.
