Even if you don't like the options given on the federal level (in fact, I'd argue especially if you don't like the options at the top), then you gotta make sure to vote for your local officials so at least your community can step up when the people at the top don't (or won't). Yes, going through all the names is a nightmare, there were like 70-ish circuit judge positions in my county and I had to spend like two hours clicking through each and every one of their profiles (balletready compiles it all pretty well but it's still A LOT), but now it's more important that ever to make sure your vote is an informed vote. So check what they support. Check who's funding them.

And no matter how you feel about our presidential candidates, GO VOTE.

idk i’m sad that i had faith, I’m sad that this country has proven time and time again that if you’re not a straight white cis het man you have no rights no matter what. i’m sad for all the little girls out there who found out last night that no matter how qualified, educated, poised or empathetic you are you will lose to an awful and under qualified older white man. i’m sad at how much black women put their hearts, body, mind, and soul to protect this country and their right to exist and we continue to just spit in their face every chance we get. i know the sadness will pass and we need to come together to protect our communities and safe spaces but right now mourning the hope that died last night is also okay. the best thing to do is come together in your own communities and protect them. reach out and help yourselves. we’re gonna need each other these next few years. we can mourn, feel defeated but let’s not let it last forever.
