🪙 The tanuki admittedly does not have much time to focus on relationships with his focus entirely on his career. His time in the city had ended badly, and it was his chance to begin again back in his hometown. The shop and his (failing) real estate ventures were the only things on his mind, barring the two kids he had taken in as well. He was a busy man with financial struggles. A relationship truly was the furthest thing on his mind.

🪙 Well, until a certain newcomer moved to town. A call from Rover asking him to give a hand gave him an opportunity to finally offload some of the useless real estate he was sitting on and make some money from it. Of course, life was cruel, and they were broke. Even working part-time under him barely got their mortgage down to a reasonable price. Though, they seemed extremely determined to work it off. Their presence became a frequent quest in his store, often to chat and barter. It was only after seeing you gently handle Timmy and Tommy that he began to grasp something odd. He quite liked them despite everything.

🪙 PDA is not something the older man is admittedly a fan of. Though, at the same time, he barely has the energy to reject it. He lets you do whatever to him as long as it is not in front of customers or business partners. Your arms around him and face nuzzled into his shoulder was overwhelming, but he was far too uninterested in prying you from him. Kisses pecked to his face were simply a part of his life. Though, if one watched closely, they may see his tail start to wag. He regularly greets you with a simple kiss despite his more iffy-ness on public affection.

🪙 In private, he is a bit more open. An arm is often around you as he finds himself a bit more interested in touch. If you are ever doing anything, you may find yourself embraced from behind as a kiss is pressed to your head. Other times, you would find yourself pulled into his lap as he cuddles with you for an extended period. He is always busy, no matter what. Having these moments with you almost certainly feels of grand importance to him, cuddling is simply a nice way to unwind after his long hours. Any sleeping activities also involve large amounts of cuddling. He is quite affectionate in the right environment.

🪙 Just the same as in public, you have free rein to do whatever to the businessman. He simply has no energy to reject it and quite typically enjoys the doting affection. Kisses pressed all over his face while sitting in his lap results in a sigh from him. Tight hugs to bury your face into his chest. He simply brings his arms around you and enjoys the affection. Admittedly, he quite enjoys the positive attention since his customers can be quite hard to please despite his best efforts. Your adoration truly warms his heart.

🪙 Dates… Often times, it is simply a walk out together through the town. There is not much to do, after all. Though, he does quite enjoy trips to The Roost with you where you both languidly enjoy a coffee and each other's presence. Most of all, when he has a moment away from his work, he does wish to spend it with you. He may wander the museum at your side or enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach. (Though, notably, after the town becomes more developed and his career shifts solely to real estate, he often frequents the places on Main Street alongside you. After the Deserted Island Getaway, he often enjoys exploring other islands with you.)

🪙 Nook is not the jealous sort. Why would he be? His confidence in himself is plain as can be. Besides, you pursued him, and that alone assures him there is no need to worry of you straying away from him. His trust in you is truly high. Though, one person sets him off. Seeing Redd literally anywhere near you makes him rush over his astonishing speed and put himself between you both. He has no interest in letting that fox anywhere near you. Even you mentioning purchasing from him leads to a chiding rant about how untrustworthy he is. It is the one time you can ever see him flustered, so enjoy it.

🪙 Domestic moments are quite frequent. He would argue that your relationship with him is built on them. You began bringing him lunches during his long shifts after upgrading his store to Nook'N'Go, and that has stayed a tradition since. Isabelle often giggles at the sight of you popping into Resident Services to drop off a meal for the tanuki. He seems quite excited to take it and have a moment with his partner. Your presence in his life was truly a booster to his ability to work. You even help him take care of Timmy and Tommy, of which he was extremely grateful for. In his heart, he really felt like he had achieved everything needed in his personal life.

🪙 In truth, your unyielding support in his endeavours played a small part in his ability to grow his small-town shop into the land development business it was now. He truly feels that you are an important presence in his life, even if you started off as a debtor to him. Everything from how you helped him with the boys to generally helping with the economics of his shop (by shopping and selling) helped him immensely in his early days. For that, you truly do have his heart.

🪙 Your relationship with the tanuki goes from tumultuous and a bit awkward to something of true domestic bliss. Nook does really love you and respect you as his partner, but he can be a bit distant with his work unintentionally. He never wishes for you to feel unwanted, though. It often surprises people when he mentions his partner since he never really speaks on his personal life. Though anyone who has seen you visit him knows truly how loved the man is. You end up settled happily into a patchwork family with a loving husband. Just let him handle the finances. He can be quite demanding on that.

animal crossing was a shared interest between yourself and seonghwa. he had started way before you so his island was already well decorated. yours however…was sort of a mess still. with only having your entrance done you started to get desperate for new paths and new decorations. you we’re beginning to get bored of waiting for the recipes and events.

so you did what any reasonable person would do. you went onto treasure islands. suddenly you had millions of bells and all the decorations and flowers you could possibly want. seonghwa blissfully unaware to your treasure island shenanigans. he took pride in sending you decorations and bells. he loved that you needed him.

seonghwa packed up his switch and an overnight bag to stay at yours for the weekend. when he arrived at your house you were already playing. “y/nie i told you to wait for me.” he playfully whined. you giggled. “sorry hwa, i couldn’t help myself i’m almost done with my fossil digging site.” his brows furrowed.

he took a seat next to you and stared at your screen. he watched you run around and place certain decorations and add a fossil he knew you didn’t dig up yet. “y/n where did you get that? it’s not in your museum.” you looked at the fossil. “oh that? i found it on a treasure island.” you shrugged. seonghwa gasped dramatically. “look at all of those bells! how’d you get that many so fast?” you sighed and pulled out your phone.

opening twitch you looked up treasure islands and clicked on a stream with about fifty viewers. seonghwa’s eyes scanned the screen. “oh my god, where have these been this whole time?” he questioned. seonghwa went to his airport to visit a garden materials island.

“i can finally have my cherry blossoms.” he smiled. for the next several hours the two of you played together visiting different treasure islands. eventually both of your islands were filled with random flowers and decorations.

“oh my god y/n! look look.” seonghwa shoved his switch in your face. “what.” you giggled pushing it back slightly. “do you see that?” he pointed to a lily of the valley that grew. your eyes went wide. “oh my god seonghwa no way!” you screamed. he smirked proudly.

“wait a minute.” you looked at his unplaced items and weeds from him time traveling. “seonghwa.” you glared. “what?” he asked. “there is no way that just grew there your island is a mess!” he gasped placing his hand over his heart. “are you accusing me of planting a lily of the valley from a treasure island to trick you?” he asked.

“you just admitted to it!” you smacked him with one of your couch pillows. “hey.” he whined before tackling you onto the couch. the two of you play fought until he pinned your hands above you. the sound of your heavy breathes filled the silence.

the faint sounds of animal crossing in the background. he smiled at you before capturing your lips against his. you leaned up into the kiss and he released his hold on your hands. he pulled you up against him as he deepened the kiss.

the both of you pulled away breathless. “you know, i picked up a wedding set from the last island i visited.” you said shyly. seonghwa smirked and kissed you deeply. “well then open your gates for visitors baby.” he patted your bottom before you both took off to your switches once again.

oh hells yes. cracking my knuckles as we speak

both of them are way into comics (and also went to watch itsv and atsv together in cinemas as a date) i think magnus is probably more into xmen while alex likes a variety of specific characters from both dc and marvel, mostly spiderman variants.

its canon that theyre both into novels and reading and i just think the idea of sharing books with someone is sooo personal and sweet. i like to imagine that even though valhalla gives them infinite books they have shared copies of their favourites that theyve both annotated and highlighted in different colours (alex in green and pink and magnus in yellow obv) so that they can reread and add stuff at anytime its really cute

magnus starts to develop an interest in stop motion which alex helps him with, and she has so many photos of him mid-concentrating on his work saved onto her phone.

alex is deffo a tumblr boygirl and magnus initially agrees to make a profile so that alex can @ him in random posts he finds but then he becomes very interested in that very specific niche of like Wizard Posting and it consumes his whole account within a month

alex is audhd and magnus has autism (this is pretty much canon like his whole thing about needing a bedroom to be 'no frills' to sleep comfortably and having a very specific favourite food-- idk it just makes sense to me) + ptsd

they share an acnh island with very meticulous aesthetics. magnus mainly handles the island layout and alex handles their house interior its a whole system

adding onto that, alex once built a massive maze across the entire island and trapped magnus inside unless he answered her 'riddles three', which has become a standard hazing ritual if anyone else ever plays with them, and each time the riddle is stupider and stupider

alex loves writing on sticky notes and just putting them Everywhere. he'll do stuff like 'good morning :p' and put it on magnus' forehead while he sleeps or see a random piece of paper magnus left out and leave her own commentary or random doodles on it and magnus has started a collection of his favourites.

(alex does this for everybody, but uses pink for magnus specifically and green for everything else <3)

boardgame fiends. alex is really good at strategy and magnus is a talent at reading people. the rest of floor 19 are incredibly competitive and theres a rule that prohibits them from teaming up unless blitzen and hearthstone are there because THEY just end up dominating anyway and alex and magnus have to even the playing field.

alex cutting magnus' hair becomes a regular thing and even though she makes fun of him for it she also insists on doing it everytime and he just likes it because its Alex :))

magnus is the king of using inappropriate emojis and/or misunderstanding what they mean and alex loves emoticons (which magnus doesnt understand in the slightly because he cant not see them as like colon open bracket)

both of them wake up unreasonably early, which always works out for them and literally nobody else (theyre very noisy morning people) and magnus falls asleep very easily like a cat in a sunbeam, which alex thinks is adorable

magnus is always showing alex skirts or tshirts or something similar like 'this would look really nice on you :)))' because he loves alex and is a chronic complementor and also he means it every single time

Ah yes. Idia. The one and only. Your epic gamer boyfriend. In all seriousness though, you love him and he's awesome. The both of you little nerds just flow together perfectly. He genuinely wonders how he scored you sometimes. Especially someone whose just so.. like him! You just get him, not to be cheesy but your literally his other half... But still.. he can't help but feel... A little undeserving of it all. He's never been very confident. Especially not in his appearance.. Speaking of which- Right now your in his dorm room with him. Sitting on the bed together while the soft blue flames that make up his hair flicker soothingly against the dark walls of the room. The only other light being the dull glow from his Nintendo Switch. You lay on his chest watching him play for the time being. Most evenings together are similar to this... You watch as his little ACNH character scitters all about his (very unaesthetic but effective) island. The gentle rise and fall of his chest and soft button clicks lulling you into a state of complete comfort and bliss like no other. All up until Idia makes it to a loading screen.. as the screen goes dark and the loading symbol pops up in the bottom corner Idia catches his own reflection in the black screen. He looks a little uncomfortable.. then just puts a hand over his face til it's over with, before returning to the game. It's sorta subtle.. but also really not.. At first, you ignore it. Until he does it for another three loading screens. This last one he even buries his face into his hoodie collar and keeps it there! From you!! He should've known better than that. Your quick to readjust off Idia's chest to look at him. He looks up at you just blinking those soft golden eyes. "Stop it.." You mutter as you pull his hoodie collar back down. "No hiding that handsome face.." You give him a little smooch hoping to help with the mood making the ends of his flaming hair flicker into a soft pink. You get a little noise out of him and he puffs his cheeks out a bit.. "I know... it's just" He pauses with a huff, "You know..." You sit there looking at him for a while. The Switch is paused and laying on Idia's lap as he fidgets with his hands. Picking at his nails a little. You suddenly come up with an idea, something to maybe brighten his mood back up and give him some much needed reassursnce. Carefully you bring his face into your hands, cupping his cheeks. You kiss his forehead gently, "No. I don't know. All I see is the most beautiful boy in the world hating on himself for no reason..." You move down to his nose, peppering a little kiss there as well. "A gorgeous~" then to his cheek, "ethereal~" then the other, "handsome~" then finally on his soft pouty lips.. holding this smooch the longest... "Beautiful boy~" You lean back muttering your last words of affection and admiring your work, that being, your boyfriend too flustered to move. You made his hair go completely pink! His pale face was the reddest you've ever seen it, his eyes were wide, and his mouth was left slightly agape. "Wh-.." He couldn't even manage a word so he decided to just drag you back down onto his chest, tightly hugging you to himself. You heard a little sniffle from Idia.. but he was rubbing any tears away before you could even look.. "T-thank you..." He mumbled softly, squeezing you in close... "Of course..." you start, pausing for a moment to give Idia yet another smooch, "Just don't forget it this time~" Idia's chuckles a bit, his signature 'Wee hee heh' (goofy ass laugh) slipping out lightly. if you know me, you probably guessed it, the new semester is starting soon and so far this thing has worked 2/2 times so.. i'm not about to jinx it by not doing the challenge. whatever works, works, yk?

this time around, i'm only taking 4 classes :( it makes me feel so lazy and wasteful, but i'll need to stay another full year anyways so it's not like it affects anything really (and i'll have way more time to study a subject i, for once, kinda enjoy). either way, i'm sure the classes are going to be absolutely brutal and i won't even notice after the 1st week haha

the term is going to have a maximum of 143 days (ending on the 5th of july), including both exam seasons (which, hopefully, i won't need!!!!), but i think i'm going to start 2 days earlier. yes.. because 145 is a round number.. but also cause i have to clean up my room and prepare everything :P

So just now @lahnsette-maekohlira linked me to an article about Hello Kitty Island Adventures, which does two things Animal Crossing doesn't: playable animal characters and unlimited inventory.

That was meant as suggestions for Project Special K.

The former I shan't go into again.

The latter, though? I dunno. It sounds nice to have unlimited inventory space, lord knows I've had to clean out my storage space on ACNH last night as I ran dangerously close to full capacity. But then I saw this screenshot:

That... does not look like it'd handle carrying a hundred items well.

In Animal Crossing New Horizons, by contrast, the inventory window is not a plain list but a grid, you can place items anywhere on that grid, and acquiring a new item places it on the next open spot. The storage screen however is... a big ol' scrolling list of icons with a sort button. Like in HKIA, but importantly it also has a categorization system so you can drill down at least that much.

It'd be easy enough to switch Project Special K from the current ACNH-like system to an HKIA-like system. I don't have a UI for either inventory or storage yet, so there's little to lose here. But I don't much like how HKIA seems to do it.

So I figured... why not have unlimited storage that you can, under specific circumstances, access from the inventory screen?

See, in Day of the Tentacle you played as three separate kids. Bernard in the present, Hoagie 200 years in the past, and Laverne 200 years in the future, each with a time machine modeled after an outhouse.

You can send items from one kid's inventory to another by literally flushing them. The easiest way to do that is to click "Give", then the item, then the portrait of the recipient. "Give can opener to Laverne", for example. But you can also do it the silly person's way:

Walk over to the Chron-o-John.

Put the can opener into the bowl.

Switch to Laverne.

Walk over to the Chron-o-John.

Take the can opener from the bowl.

And now you have to walk all the way back to where you're supposed to use the can opener.

And the trick is, because of plot reasons Laverne initially can't get to her time machine. She can gain access to one part of the map or the other, and if she's in the one she can't send or receive items because the time machine is in the other... until she gets a disguise and can walk around freely. Almost. There's a single last puzzle until she can go upstairs. It's why I didn't write "one half of the map".

What's all that gotta do with Animal Crossing, Hello Kitty, or Project Special K?

Easy.

If you are in your own home and open the inventory, it's not that weird to imagine popping off to the storage in the middle of inventory management. After all, in ACNH you can access your home's storage at home.

If you're outside and there's a storage container somewhere outside, the same thing applies. After all, in ACNH you can access your home's storage from a container. For PSK, let's just pretend there is one.

But if you're on a mystery tour, or in someone else's house? You can't access your storage, so opening your inventory does not let you switch to your storage and take out and put away items on the fly.

Which means when you're about to travel and the guy asks if you have everything you need, you still need to be sure you do. If you find yourself at a birthday party, you better have done what you should've and brought a present, cos you won't be able to pop off without angering someone.

And the important bit is that it's not your inventory that's unlimited but your storage.

I have not played this game in ages. I should seriously check up on my (old-ish) island. I don't have her and I never have, but I WANT HER SO BADLY. SHE IS SO COOL. She's definitely a dream villager and I will try to see where I can find her...if I ever pick the game back up. I want to beat up Tom Nook very badly, and my island is a mess.

I would very much like it if the exact amount of bells I need one day magically showed up so I could buy a bigger house or whatever.

I've been on Tumblr now for over 1 year. 🎉 I thought it might be time to (re)introduce myself and how I've been handling this account.

Animal Crossing New Horizons is the only Animal Crossing game I've played. I love it so much that I can't move on to other video games because I'd rather be playing ACNH. I've only had one island called Praxis, but I hope to start a new one very soon! (In full disclosure, I've been saying that for months and life keeps getting in the way.)

I usually have my finger on the pulse of fresh posts, but you'll never know that because I reblog everything to the queue which hovers around 300 at all times. I use reblogging in real time to indicate when things aren't from the queue as opposed to marking everything that is. On Fridays, I hit "shuffle queue" and sometimes tweak the times and number of posts.

I've been sharing screenshots from my island Praxis with acnh praxis, animal crossing, animal crossing new horizons, acnh, acnh screenshots, acnh life, & animal crossing creations, and the vacation homes I've decorated in Happy Home Paradise with happy home paradise, happy home designer, happy home dlc, acnh happy home paradise, and acnh exterior or acnh interior as relevant.

Other tags I use:

ac [villager name] and acnh [villager name] because I couldn't remember which one I started with so to ensure I can go back and find things I do both on each post that highlights a villager to remain consistent.

If there is more than one villager showcased, I usually try to tag each one individually. However, if I am in a hurry or I don't know all the villagers and don't have time to look them up, I will use the general acnh villagers. I try to also use acnh [species name], especially if the post is solely one species.

Anything regarding dialogue (photo edited or organic) I use acnh dialogue or ac dialogue if it isn't New Horizons.

acnh codes, custom codes, and acnh custom design for the codes. This is not my strong suit, so any custom stuff you see in my screenshots someone else created (unless otherwise specified). I do not usually share the codes in each post since they aren't mine, but if you ask for them, I'll share.

For dream address posts I also use the tag i really need to start dreaming again because I haven't done it in awhile.

acnh inspiration is for anything that I see that makes me go, "Wow, I wish I was playing right now because this has INSPIRED me!" I never use this tag on my own posts, only rbs of others. If I rb your post with that, you should take it as the HIGHEST compliment. 😘

If there is crossover content between AC and other fandoms, I use when worlds collide, and sometimes I even share crossovers where I am not familiar with the other one.

I love it when people like, reblog, comment, and use my ask box. I love talking to strangers (because a stranger is just a friend you haven't made yet) and I love answering questions. I really like the animal crossing community, and I love making new friends. 💞

I'm still trying to figure out when I should be writing my commentary in the body of the reblog and when it should be a tag instead. Honestly there genuinely wasn't much going on there, lowkey a waste of time except the scenery was really pretty so it doesn't feel anywhere near as pointless as it should

I just learned how to add custom designs to the shining effects from the Happy Home Paradise DLC.

So now the "alien eggs" in the Alien themed part of my ACNH island, can have facehuggers spawning out of them.

Yeah, I was really late to the party with this effect LOL I never saw them being used at the islands that I visited for inspo. Except for a recent one that used them often. That is called Ghibli Island.
