Short and concise answer is I do personally feel a little burnt out on lmk but while that doesn't mean I've abandoned it. Not in the slightest

Anyways, very busy time for me rn so updates and any art in particular will be VERY sparse in the coming months I'm afraid.

That being said, gotten back into an oldie of mine I'd never thought I'd revisit: Object Shows!

More specifically: Inanimate insanity

Look I was into this when I was like a preteen and grew out of it then all of a sudden II s2 ep18 dropped. Like hell, I didn't even know that invitational existed (and lowkey still haven't seen it- BUT I KNOW THE LORE, BOT IS MY WEE BABY OK I KNOW THE LORE)

And drawing these gijinkas kinda gave me more flexibility and let me design people again even though I'll admit quite a few ideas are very common in gijinka's used in the fandom

So um I'll see how this goes, I already have the sketches for the other season's cast and will probably post them regardless though.

Let's start with S1's king, the fruitiest lad on the aisle: OJ!

(Btw I think it's HOP rather than HOJP)

I know he's meant to be like a glass of OJ, so theoretically his hair should be more slick/smooth but I decided to go for the flowy juice angle! Something to make his hair look more like flowing liquid.

Orange slice earings! In fact, orange slice accessories everywhere! (it's so marketable srsly don't know why it ain't used more often)

The orange watch was a fun concept ^u^ specially since after getting the hotel, I'd imagine him being a lot more uptight with sh!t and use clocks/watches to keep track of things

TBH, he'd probably also have a pair of rectangular long glass dangly earings to swap out for like the formal events.

Yay! For slacks! Thought they'd look really cute on him and other than Suitcase, wanted to give him something unique rather than just a suit/suitjacket (eg the hosts, Taco)

But oh, look at that he comes with two outfits! Just like a doll...

Maybe I’m just being lazy but screw it, I don’t have much else to add to this page, or that I will add, so page now

As stated prior, this AU now has the name of Transformers X, and this page is pretty much just me trying to make various designs for characters

I say try because while I got Jazz and a design for Bumblebee, I kind of gave up by the Starscream design, or I just didn’t know how to finish it

I guess let’s just go through what’s here

So first we have Bumblebee. I gave him a visor, but I don’t know if I want to keep it, because honestly I’m giving too many characters visors at this rate

I do like how round he is though, and I like his horns

I also decided I need to give characters other gem shapes, which I did here with Bee. I gave him the two on his chest to mimic headlights, and one on his head because why not

I have no clue what his role in the AU is. I know he’s an Autobot, and he probably has some connection with Optimus, but I don’t know what specifically he does? Originally I was planning on him being Optimus’ support bot, but I ended up finding Jazz a better pick, so I don’t know what to do with him now

Speaking of which, on to Jazz. I already explained stuff about him prior, how he’s semi based on his TFA design. The red circle gem is supposed to be where his Autobot symbol is, but honestly I might change the shape. I don’t know how much I like the circle on him. The circle shoulders can stay though

By Jazz I realized I should probably be more elaborate with the arms, but I still need more time to figure out how specifically to go about that

And as for his role, as stated he is Optimus and usually Megatron’s support bot. By which I mean, guy in the HQ that’s giving the bot out field and opponent data, as well as helping with strategies

I said he has a casual thing going with both Optimus and Megatron, but honestly, I might take it out. I thought it was funny, but I’m not sure how much I like it genuinely. Not that I don’t think the ship could work, it’s just that maybe I’ll shelve it here. I do kind of like it though still, at least on Optimus’ end. The polyamory’s so there’s no cheating, because I’ve decided megop is official here

And then we get to the unfinished designs

So with Starscream, I didn’t really know how to translate his helmet design into Mega Man-esque format. So I went looking for characters to maybe get some pointers on how to do so, and I ended up finding Gate, who basically became my main inspiration for this Starscream

I just thought the helm design really fit Starscream, and I mean I can use the flashback Gate for scientist Starscream too

But then during my sketching I was like “does that really look like Starscream?” Like he looks like a Mega Man character, but to me I’m not sure he’s recognizable as Starscream

I also didn’t know what to do for his body, since the gem was supposed to be in place of his cockpit, nor was I sure on his arms or how his wings work

So I decided he’s to be shelved for now, maybe I can make a better design later

Then I decided to do a small head design for Skyfire. As is he isn’t really going to be in the AU, since he’s currently in stasis, but might as well

He’s fine, I just have to figure out his body

Then we have a semi-sketch of Soundwave, who’s mainly based on Vile because I feel like the shapes work for him

I was trying to add something to his head to make him look more Soundwave, but they didn’t turn out right. Maybe my issue here is leaning too much into the Vile helm style

All I know is he is very square

And I think that’s mainly it on this round of AU stuff. It really isn’t that much, I’ll be honest, but this is from like, the past few days where I’ve been doing a lot of work, and I haven’t had much creative juice. Hopefully by Thursday or Friday I have more substance

Honestly I just want to keep drawing Megatron and Optimus, but I know I should expand the cast. But maybe I should just do what I want instead, since all of this is self indulgent anyways. I do need to modify Megs’ design now since I’ve decided he has circle shoulders now

Club in Love | Morph x Reader

Summery: Morph decides to take you out on Valentine's Day since you're both dateless. Of course, they think the best place to go on a date for two mutants like yourselves is the club.

Themes: Fluff -> Angst -> Fluff, Confessions, Mutual Crush, Open Ending, Clubbing, Drinking, (Slight) Drug Mention, Morph does Morph things, Morph doesn't use their Birth Name, Reader is a mutant/X-Man (no powers written), Wolverine cameo.

"Come on, we're not gonna make it for the 'Couples Get in Free' hour if you have to spend thirty minutes just picking an outfit." Morph laughs, creeping ever so slightly closer.

"We're not a couple, Morph." You laugh out softly, shaking your head as you took out some shirts to look at them.

"Not yet," They smirk, getting closer and poking your cheek. As you go to protest, they grin wider. "I'm kidding, come on. It was funny."

"No, it wasn't." You mumble, remembering the fact that the only reason you agreed to do this was both of you were painfully single. Morph's smile drops as they see you lost in thought, quickly trying to figure out how to cheer you up.

"Hey, just think of it as a..." They start, pausing to tap their chin in thought, trying to find the right words. "A special Co-Ops mission. I mean, the best mutant on the team for having to undercover is moi, huh?"

Morph spins, with their hands in the air, switching between different forms and disguises, finally resting on their 'Public Face'.

"Come on, it can't be that hard to pick an outfit."

"Says the person who can shapeshift into any outfit they want." You grumble, shoving them away.

They laugh softly, smiling as they lean against the wall. Finally picking an outfit, you shoo Morph away to get dressed. As you walk out of your room, you hear a low whistle. "Morph-"

"Non, non, cher." You hear and see Gambit, but know better. "You look magnifique, chouchou."

"Morph."

"Fiiine." They laugh, transforming back into themselves. "You're not fun."

"I am, but not when it comes to you trying to seduce me or whatever with our friend's faces." You shake your head, grabbing your stuff and making your way to the stairs. "Come on, 'partner'."

"Is that a cowboy joke or a date joke?"

"If I said date joke you'd be happy, so it's a cowboy joke."

You stomp down the stairs of the mansion, rolling your eyes as you laugh with Morph. Before you can make it to the door, Logan steps out in front of you both "W'ere the hell do you two think yer goin'?"

"Relax, we're going to the club. You coming with?" Morph smiles. "Or are you gonna sulk and whimper like last year." They snicker.

"Morph, be nice-" You say, quickly being cut off by the chuckle of Logan, making you quickly turn your attention back to the gruff man.

"No, they're right. But I ain't going to yer fancy club, Morph. I'd rather stay 'ere tonight. Thanks though."

Morph pats Logan's back, tsking softly, "There isn't anything 'fancy' about it other than the way it overstimulates you with all the flashing, multicolored lights. But I promise it'd be much chiller since, you know, they're trying to draw in couples for their jacked up drink prices tonight."

You watch as they try to convince Logan to come, but there really wasn't much getting through to him. Not today, at least. "Well, you kid's have fun. I'mma get some shut eye." He finally grunted out, walking off.

"Welp, that's our queue, I assume, to get going. You know?" Morph laughed softly, pointing towards the front door.

"Mhm." You prompt, walking forward and paying them no mind. For someone who was just flirting with you, or so you think, they sure did ignore you for about five minutes. So clearly, they can't like you like that for real, right?

You don't see it, but their face drops as you walk out the mansion. "Shit-" Them mutter to themselves. Quickly running up to you, they wrap an arm around you and grin. "Oh, come on, don't get sour before we get Lemon Drops. Or maybe something stronger? Oooo, maybe one of those overpriced Valentine's Day themed drinks."

Morph shifts to their public face, opening the passenger side door and bows slightly. This causes you to chuckle out, shaking your head and flashing a soft smile in their direction. This satisfies them enough to shake off their mini-dread.

As you pull up to the club, Morph looks around at the crowded line outside. "Shit, really? No way there's this many people just cause tonight's so marketable." They chuckle, leaning against you with an arm on your shoulder.

"You'd be surprised how normal, happy people like this holiday." You mumble in a half-sarcastic laugh.

"Normal, happy people?" They repeat, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah. Non-superheroes fighting off whatever the fuck? People who don't have the stress of protecting the whole world?"

"Oh." They grimace, looking at you softly. "Let's try to not think about that, huh? Come on, I'll buy you whatever drink you want." They smile, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. "Come on, just act natural." They mumble, walking closer to the bouncer.

"Yeah, yeah." You shake your head smiling, leaning into their touch. You feel them tense for a slight moment before relaxing. They press a soft kiss to your forehead in sight of the bouncer, then lean over to whisper in your ear.

"Don't be such a grouchy pants. We're supposed to look like a couple."

You blush slightly, looking away as the people in front of you step into the club. Morph grabs your hand and pulls you forward.

You enter the club and are immediately met with red light instead of the normal multicolored flashing. "See, I told Logan it'd be calmer tonight. There's just more people."

"Yeah, Logan doesn't like people neither." You laugh, walking over to the bar with them. "Any drink, huh?"

"Any drink." Morph repeats. "We could share, you know. They got couple's drinks or whatever."

"We're not-" You start, looking at the size of the couple drinks tat two people are sharing at the other end of the bar. "Okay maybe. Those are like... five times the size of my fist."

They chuckle softly, shaking their head. "I'll order us one."

You both sit at the bar, sipping on the drink. It's some kind of strawberry vodka cocktail, and if you were being honest? It was amazing.

You go to sip from your straw and find your face only a few inches away from Morph's. You awkwardly laugh and pull back, but that only makes them smirk wide. "Don't be shy now. I mean, we have to pretend to be dating to not get kicked out. What's a little eye contact gonna do?"

You puff your cheeks out, slightly annoyed by how nonchalant they are about this. Taking up on their challenge, you lean back and take a sip of the drink as they do. That's when it finally hits you.

The alcohol that is.

The soft, red lights in the club feel a lot heavier than before and as you look in Morph's eyes, they almost shimmer. Your cheeks heat up and you can't help but look at them, really look at them.

They usual confident, almost a little bit snarky person is taken aback slightly at the change in your demeanor, letting out a laugh that was easily readable as nervous. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Feeling, uh... Peachy." You say, slurring your words despite how slowly you were speaking.

"Oh, you're a lightweight aren't you. Fuuuck, I'm gonna have to babysit you? No, not happening. We're going home."

"No, what? Come on, what happened to having fun?" You ask, a wide, almost goofy grin on your face. You stand up, taking another quick sip of the large cup before pulling them by the hand. "Let's dance."

"Woah- okay, okay, I'm coming." They laugh, shaking their head but following. Whenever you get on the floor, the song playing is lively, about drugs and sex, like most music. You watch Morph's face distort slightly with worry.

"What's wrong?" You slur out, getting a little bit closer to Morph.

"Well, I usually... I usually dance while, you know Morphing. Shifting to different forms with each flash of the lights, cause it's... " They trail off, the song ending.

"It's cool. You're cool." You say, your eyes flickering around.

"What?"

"Huh?"

"Did you just say I'm cool?" Morph laughs, looking at you with wide eyes.

"Well- I mean, yeah." You say, your cheeks heating up slightly. For what reason, you have no idea. It's not like you....

You laugh, shaking your head, "I mean, what's wrong with saying your cool?"

They smile, eyes lighting up as the next song that's playing in the club is a slow, romantic one. Almost... bedroom-y. "You wanted to dance, right?" Morph asks, putting out their hand.

You look down at their hand, even in your drunken state, understanding where this is going. You take it, yelping out and laughing as they pull you closer, wrapping a hand around your waist. "Hey!"

"Then we're dancing." They say just for your ears.

Morph sways you from side to side slowly, in rhythm with the song. You're a little starstruck, flabbergasted even, at the moment. They put their cheek against yours, smirking. "You're blushing."

"N-no." You stammer, shaking your head.

"You're either extremely tipsy, orrrr... did you find something out?"

"Maybe. Both. Probably both." You mumble. Morph laughs softly, pulling you closer.

"That's alright. Was gonna tell you anyways." They say, forehead against yours.

You pull back slightly, "Huh? Tell me what?" You ask, eyes widening. "You like me, too?"

"Too?" They laugh, shaking their head for a moment. "You like me back?"

"Yeah, no, I just realized this, how long have you liked me???"

"Shit-"

You could still draw Player while still keeping their identity mysterious by censoring their face like what Zarla (who created Handplates) did with W.D. Gaster at the beginning of the comics.

Honestly there's a lot of creative ways to interpret the player without having them be associated with a set background and a face that would make them be considered an OC.

I'd even like to use my OC Nota (that's not even their real name either) for example cause they are a player and because they are a player, I used their status to shape out my au and I do this by limiting them to only be inside a vessel. Not just any vessel, my au revolves around them being stuck inside one of Undertale character's bodies at every reset and learning how to live as them but that doesn't mean that because they are inside a character's body means that it would be their face.

No, never in a way would I give a face and a real name that would associate Nota to be an individual character. I literally made them in a way so that their status as a player still remain ambigious and that anyone could have their own interpretation of them. Even when I'm writing out my au, I don't stick with one pronoun when referring to them. Though I'm calling them they/them right now is just my own preference but inside the story I would switch out their pronouns with she/her/he/him/they/them. Either way, even later on when they could have their own vessel, I never stick with one design. I would always switch out their vessel. They'll be sometimes tall or short, more masculine or feminine or in between, long hair or short hair, etc.

What I really want when someone makes their own design of player, is to never associate them with a backstory or how they lived in the real world. It destroys everyone's view because making an ambigious player is so that everyone could have their own interpretation of what they are as a character in your story.

Another example is Underplayer, though the player in that au has a main design, never throughout that comic did the creator explain what that player is like in the real world or how they live. But rather, the creator focused on is their motivation. Why they want to create a happy ending. What we the readers only know about them is that they are a hacker with good intentions and sometimes that's all you really need to make yourself see as them.

There's a difference between a player made to be one person and a player that could be anyone. And I wish there's more interpretation of us because we're all the biggest reason Undertale turned out the way it is. I mean that both in a figurative or metaphorical way.

Transcript: I don't know why Flowey and Player aren't drawn together often. Flowey was literally made to be like a representation of the player when he discovered he had the power to reset because that's how the power of timetravel twist your whole morality. You can do anything, try every option, try every method, read every book or burn every book, know everything about a person. You do it so much that the world just become a repeating lines of dialogues and numbers. You feel nothing when you make people suffer because you never have to worry about consequences cause you could just load in to your last save or reset. Even though the only difference with Flowey to the Player is that he lacks a soul so he can't feel emotions, he's not any different to us. He can still get angry, annoyed, scared and longed and can still do nice things like when he tucked in Toriel when she passed out.

As an aroace person, I at least understand how Flowey feels. What it feels like to lack the emotion to be romantically or intimately interested in someone. That doesn't make me a heartless monster, I could still have relationships like having friends and family. I could still be kind and respect people. Though I don't have time travel skills to deeply understand how he turned out twisted and apathetic. I could still understand him as a player. We too, the player, mess with our power to reset, save and load just as much as him.

I played many games, especially ones that involves choices, and reset everytime I make a mistake so that I could get to a perfect ending. I skip through every dialogue I have already read so I could quickly catch up to where I was before making the mistake. Done too many times that I no longer feel for the characters anymore, they're just words to me now instead of a person and I don't just wait around so I could get to my goal as soon as possible. Once you've reach the goal and got the achievement, you'll definitely want to try things differently. See everything, do everything, breaking apart the game to find out everything they had to offer. We too grow apathetic, soulless like Flowey, to these characters.

I've seen a lot of parallels and duo fanart to characters who had meet Flowey. Like Flowey and Frisk, Flowey and Chara, Asriel and Chara, Asriel and Frisk, Flowey and Papyrus, Flowey and the rest of the main cast, but never seen fanart with Flowey and Player (more specifically, ambigious Player), the one person who would understand Flowey the most. Frisk would come second to that cause they experienced the resets differently because they were never in control, they were a victim and a vessel but still had an understanding why resets changes you so much as a person.

JAY SMOOTH: Race. The final frontier.

No matter what channel you watch, no matter what feed you aggregate, it seems like everybody, everywhere is talking about race right now. When everybody, everywhere is talking about race, that means sooner or later you’re going to have to tell somebody that they said something that sounded racist.

You need to be ready and have a plan in place for how to approach the inevitable “that sounded racist” conversation. I’m going to tell you how to do that.

The most important thing that you’ve got to do is remember the difference between the “what they did” conversation, and the “what they are” conversation. Those are two totally different conversations and you need to make sure that you pick the right one.

The “what they did” conversation focuses strictly on the person’s words and actions and explaining why what they did and what they said was unacceptable. This is also known as the “that thing you said was racist” conversation. That’s the conversation that you want to have.

The “what they are” conversation, on the other hand, takes things one step further and uses what they did and what they said to draw conclusions about what kind of person they are. This is also the “I think you are a racist” conversation.

This is the conversation you don’t want to have because that conversation takes us away from the facts of what they did and the speculation about their motives and intentions. Those are things you can only guess at, you can’t ever prove. That makes it way too easy for them to derail your whole argument.

That is the part that’s crucial to understand. When you say “I think he’s a racist,” that’s not a bad move because you might be wrong. That’s a bad move because you might be right. Because if that dude really is racist, you want to make sure you hold them accountable and don’t let them off easy.

Even though, intuitively, it feels like the hardest way to hit them is just to run up on them and say “I think your ass is racist,” when you handle it that way, you’re actually letting them off easy because you’re setting up a conversation that’s way too simple for him to derail and duck out of.

Just think about how this plays out every time a politician or a celebrity gets caught out there. It always starts out as a “what they did” conversation, but as soon as the celebrity and their defenders get on camera, they start doing judo flips and switching it into a “what they are” conversation.

“I have known this person for years, and I know for a fact that they are not a racist. How dare you claim to know what’s inside their soul just because they made one little joke about watermelon, tap dancing, and going back to Africa?”

Then you try and explain that we don’t need to see inside their soul to know that they shouldn’t have said all that about the watermelon. You try to focus on the facts of the situation, but by then it’s too late because the “what they are” conversation is a rhetorical Bermuda Triangle where everything drowns in a sea of empty posturing until somebody just blames it all on hip hop and we forget the whole thing ever happened.

Don’t let this happen to you.

When somebody picks my pocket, I’m not going to be chasing them down so I can figure out whether he feels like he’s a thief deep down in his heart. I’m going to be chasing him down so I can get my wallet back. I don’t care what he is, but I need to hold him accountable for what he did.

That’s how we need to approach these conversations about race. Treat them like they took your wallet and focus on the part that matters, holding each person accountable for the impact of their words and actions.

I don’t care what you are. I care about what you did.

Hi, how did you learn to draw Steve's physique?

Ohh what a complicated thing to answer...

When it comes to how I learned to draw anything, it's hard to say anything too specific since it's always a culmination of many years of assorted study and practice... but I can try to do my best to explain some of the biggest things that helped me learn, some tips I keep in mind, and maybe at least some places to start/delve further.

(just a little disclaimer it's not like my drawings here are going to be 100% medically accurate.. they're just to illustrate concepts!)

The main thing about learning various physiques is understanding anatomy. Which feels obvious, but I don't mean proportions; these are important, but perhaps more important is understanding the skeleton and how it moves and learning where muscles connect to bones and where fat grows on the body. When you understand how these function on a more mechanical level, depicting form and movement in a way that feels natural comes in tow.

For instance, understanding things like the pronation and supination of the radius and ulna, as well as the fact that muscles can ONLY contract or relax, will help you understand a bit better which muscles will be flexed and which will not while someone moves. It's inherent to the positioning based on the structural makeup of the body... It's not like you NEED to memorize all the muscles and bones, of course, but understanding and gaining at least a passive familiarity with the concepts really helps.

In tandem with this concept is the way parts of the body flow into eachother. Muscles ALWAYS come in groups because they can only contract. Whatever muscle is there to lift something, there is a muscle on the other side to pull that bone back down. What this results in is a series of straight edges next to curves, which gives us a lot of really lovely "s curves" and dents and folds and so on and so forth just naturally occurring.

I would suggest at least learning the "bony landmarks", which are bones (usually) visible on the surface of the body. things like the iliac crest, the great trochanter, the 7th vertabrae, the acromion process... These can be used to help you understand the parts of the body as angles and relationships, rather than trying to remember lengths and sizes, which vary immensely... (since you asked about steve, he can be our model... also study these on your own don't just take my word for it haha, these are the ones I personally keep in mind)

I've done the same thing with body hair... learning where it grows and in which directions... It helps me make up variations without needing reference, because I have a set of rules I can follow.

The biggest thing that helped me understand all this on a much deeper level was my ecorche course. I sculpted this guy. We started by sculpting the entire skeleton to understand the bones, and then we added muscles on top. Not every single muscle, of course, but the "artistic muscles" AKA the ones which directly affect the surface of the body. Doing this let us see where muscles connect, because we would make a shape, put it on the bone where it actually goes, and then you get to see how other muscles overlap that.

This helped me, perhaps, more than anything else. But I also didn't just start with this course, I had been drawing for years before I even took it. I had been in school for years before I took it. Not that I think it wouldn't be helpful to someone just starting out, but I do think that the more you know going in, the better an in-depth course like this will help you and stick with you. Classes are also expensive, though so I'm not really like... recommending you pay potentially thousands of dollars to take one... But it did help me a lot, personally.

I also, of course, have done many figure, gesture, and master studies...

These just help you quickly gain a stronger understanding of generalized anatomy, and gives you real life examples of and practice with of how people move and balance.

What all this does when combined, is gives me a very solid ability to depict movement and form in a way that feels relatively natural from my subconscious without the need for reference.

The rest of how I've learned to draw his physique is honestly mostly just stylization. I understand the body, and this is how I am depicting it for his level of musculature.

And as I move into depicting him in other ways, either moving in comics or in animation, realistically rendered, or extra stylized, these concepts inform every step of that process for me! When he keeps the same/similar relationships between parts, he gets to still look like himself.

It ALSO really helps when putting clothes on, because the way cloth falls and bunches and lifts is all directly related to the form it is on... So the more you understand that form, the more you can depict clothing and movement in a way that feels natural.

This is all, of course, true when I draw anyone, you asked about Steve so I'm trying to mostly show with him! But because I'm just drawing from raw information of general anatomy rather than trying to study one body type at a time, it allows a lot more "give," I think!

But, it also makes monster and alien design much easier! It's a lot easier to come up with non-human anatomy when I understand human anatomy, because I can manipulate the knowledge I have...

There is infinite more to study in the world of anatomy... The complexity of the human body goes extremely deep. For our purposes as artists, we need only depict a fraction of it, but more information rarely hurts the process.

I'm sure there's something in here that's wrong on a technical level, I'm mostly going off of memory. But that's kind of my point - I understand enough generally and conceptually that when I am missing something and need to find reference for it, I understand what I'm looking at. It's much easier than trying to learn AND draw at the same time.
