Wow surprised how many of my favourites I forgot. I forgot Buzzwole and Pheromosa (realised those two this morning when I had my breakfast), Audino and the Spritzee and Swirlix lines (realised those three just now. Spritzee and Swirlix are of course already confirmed)

Okay I guess list of Pokémon either not in Scarlet and Violet or in but only obtainable through HOME (this doesn’t count version-exclusives, event-exclusives or the trio of Legendary Pokémon that are only obtainable through NSO-exclusive group quests because they are obtainable without using HOME just only under certain circumstances) that I would like to see make a return in Z-A

Absol (confirmed to return through trailers)

Zeraora (likely to be back based on the Teraleak)

The Clamperl line (mainly because of Huntail and Gorebyss, they’re the entire reason I was inspired to make this post)

Zacian and Zamazenta (I know this is cheating because they are in the code for SV but a) I’ve been waiting for them to get version-exclusive 5-star raids in a similar style to Walking Wake and Iron Leaves for so long and still haven’t got it with them being the only box Legendaries other than the Kalos trio (who aren’t in the game at all) to be unobtainable outside HOME. Well okay I guess Giratina and Arceus are also in that boat but at least Dialga and Palkia had an event and b) I let myself include transfer-only because I’m sure otherwise if the list gets long enough I will accidentally include a transfer-only Pokémon from SV under the assumption that it isn’t in SV at all)

Elemental Monkeys (I know I see the Paldean Puppies as similar to them in some way and I want them to do a cat trio to match but I would still love to see the Elemental Monkeys themselves return. It’s been too long)

Furfrou (confirmed to be back)

For the lols Celebi and Victini. They feel like they’d make a good Mythical duo (trio if you include Jirachi. Y’know what, ignoring the fact that Celebi and Victini have their types in the wrong order (listing Psychic first instead of second) they’re only one type off matching the Neo Swords (just change Victini’s Fire-type to the Rock-type))

The point above (mainly the joke about their types being similar to the Neo Swords) reminded me that Solrock and Lunatone are missing and we need them back

Tyrunt and Amaura (I don’t see why they wouldn’t be back. Anyway I was thinking I should list a duo of fossil Pokémon and remembered these two lines are my favourite group of fossil Pokémon. Also we should have the Lileep and Anorith lines and the Galar mix-and-match fossils back. They’re my other favourite fossil groups)

Mawhile and Manectric (also unlikely to be ignored, listing these two together because their counterparts (Sableye and Houndoom, both of which are already confirmed to be back) are both in Scarlet and Violet)

Kaitos and Shinichis teams for the PKMN AU!!

ramblings below:

Shinichi, as Conan, is gathering a band of misfits and trouble makers. He originally only had Absol, uninterested in catching other Pokémon. But after getting Scorbunny from Agase a bunch of other Pokémon have been adopting him as their trainer.

⁃ Absol: he’s very protective and always on the watch for disaster, something that follows his trainer everywhere. He’s in charge of keeping the rowdy newbies in check and is stressed about it. Can mega evolve, but it’s something they rarely do since Shinichi is technically supposed to not be around. I imagine he's kept in his Pokeball most of the time so as to not give Shinichi away. ⁃ Scorbunny: she’s given to him so he has a Pokémon to call on as Conan. She’s high energy and childish, always getting herself into trouble and poking her nose where it doesn’t belong. ⁃ Joltik: she doesn’t have much interest in battle, but she can put people to sleep with a bite and has very strong string. She can also sneak tracking devices onto people/things, as well as act as hidden eye during cases. She doesn’t get into much trouble herself, but will gladly encourage Scorbunny to do something dumb in her stead. ⁃ Charcadet: He saw Absol absolutely wreck a dangerous criminal and simply had to join Conan’s team. Idolizes Absol and does his best not to cause him more stress. ⁃ Zorua: she’s connected to a BO case and was saved by Shinichi. She’s incredibly nervous and only seems comfortable around Shinichi. Ends up getting pretty close to Kaitos Zorua who helps her get out of her shell. Trouble magnet, if something can go wrong for her it probably will.

Kaito has very talented Pokémon, all trained to be just as good as he is with his tricks. He originally only had Meowscarada and his Pidoves, but his team had gotten larger since becoming KID.

⁃ Meowscarada: Kaitos reliable partner! He loves magic tricks just as much as his trainer and has a scheming personality to match. ⁃ Gardevoir: She was originally Toichis Pokemon and was left to Kaito with the KID outfit. Doesn’t trust Kaito to begin with, but eventually bonds with him enough that they can mega evolve. She’s talented, but somewhat standoffish. ⁃ Pidove: Kaito has a lot of Pidoves, but his shiny one is the leader of the flock. She’s friendly and happens to be the one Pidove that Shinichi saves, leading to her adoring him. She plays favorites and Kaito is low key offended. ⁃ Zorua: he was caught during a heist. Zoruas main job is to transform into the partner Pokemon of anyone that Kaito is disguising himself as. He’s mischievous and will often wander off. Likes Shinichis Zorua and tries to get her to work on her confidence.

I think both of them would still be so good at their jobs they wouldn’t really rely on Pokemon to get them done. So while they could both totally fill out their teams with helpful ‘mons they don’t need to.

I do think that Kaito would have a Klefki following him around and causing problems by stealing keys and such, but would also be helpful at times as well. He really attracts the mischievous types lmao

It would be funny if no one has seen his Zorua and they just assume KID is some crazy trainer with all sorts of Pokémon to help with his heists. His Zorua would be a master at getaways and not being seen when he doesn’t want to be.

I also played around with giving Kaito a Togekiss! I think it would fit the rumor that no murders happen when KID is doing a heist XD Maybe he eventually can get one, it would be cute to see him raise it from an egg. Kaishin finds the egg together and co-parents it

For Shinichi I don’t have another Pokémon in mind to fill out his team :0 I’d definitely love to hear what you guys think! Maybe a Luxray? Though I also feel that could be better used for a different character. Also definitely considering a Rotom. Could stick it in his voice changer or phone or smth.

Shinichi would be a little new to the whole trainer thing as before he only ever had Absol. Because he’s only ever trained Absol, a super smart and loyal Pokémon that doesn’t cause problems, he’d definitely struggle a bit with his new high energy Scorbunny. They’d bond through playing soccer :]

As for inter-team dynamics, I think their Zoruas would get along. Kaitos Pidove loves Shinichi and would likely get along with his Pokémon as well. Gardevoir and Meowscarada are the two with personality issues and probably are either hesitant to befriend a Detectives Pokemon or actively consider them a rival.

I can see Meowscarada and Absol having a crazy rivalry.

I have a few team ideas for other characters, if you guys wanna hear my take on anyone specific please feel free to send me an ask and I may draw them!! Heiji and Hakuba are two I wanna draw for sure. As well as Sera. I think I’d like to give them all Megas since they’re the main high school detectives and they deserve it lol.

I wanted to have a crack at a few pokemon-ified designs for them!! The challenge was that I didn't want to default for the pokemon on their team or an eeveelution, which I think pushed me to get more creative. Diantha works kind of perfectly with the shiny Audino colours + the mega, and I have always really liked Delphox's design despite the naysayers. I had Absol & Armarouge as tentative options but I don't think they worked as well

Marble Hornets Pokemon Teams Round 1!

Teams & my reasoning for picking them below the cut:

Hoody/Brian:

1. Pawmot- a Pokémon Brian had pre-MH. Mostly picked because of the "that's some nice hair" line lol. However, Pawmot is also great to have around because he can charge devices like the camera while out living in the woods!

2. Umbreon- originally an eevee he had pre-MH. The color scheme just matches Hoody well & the whole night-theme seems fitting. His specifically is easily aggitated ever since things starting going downhill.

3. Banette- Brian took it in just before things fell apart after finding it at one of Alex's film locations. Banette has prove to be a loyal companion, usually easy going and the one to sooth frayed nerves, but fully willing to curse its enemies. I thought it'd be cool to have a megastone in place of one of its eyes, although Hoody doesn't mega evolve it often. Again, color pallet seemed fitting, but Banette's Pokédex entries also seem fitting for his character.

4. Mimikyu- brought onto the team shortly after he took up the mask and acted as Hoody. His is rather shy and likes to mimic him. Picked mostly because I thought the cloth disguise fit nicely with his cloth mask and the mentions of loneliness in the Pokédex.

5. Yamask- the worrier of the team who showed up one day. I wasn't going to give him a yamask, but the color scheme is so perfect lol. I suppose the whole, 'the mask it carries is of its old face' lore could refer to Brian's life pre-MH.

6. Nickit- Hoody specifically caught one just to steal things like Tim's medicine. This one has a rather childish personality but is always eager to cause trouble by following Hoody's orders. I feel like this one is obvious; I picked it for the team because of its thief skills. I kept it unevolved because it seems cuter and I liked the 'cautious and cunning' description more than Thievul's.

Tim/Masky:

1. Growlithe- Given to him as a child to alert for seizures! Tim worries the poor pup when he goes into the Masky state. This well-trained Growlithe is his closest companion. I had to give him a friendly loyal dog Pokémon and like to think this one's mane has that well-loved stuffed animal texture.

2. Absol- he added this one to his team around the time Alex's project crumbled. Absol came to him in rough shape already and is often grumpy due to years of no one heeding his warnings. I wanted to add one to the team because I feel like Tim's character does warn Jay often of the dangers to stop, but keeps investigating & helping Jay anyway. Absol's colors also match Masky's mask well.

3. Mimikyu- found it one day and it followed him home. This one is curious about things and often helps Masky and Tim find items to help their goals. I wasn't going to add this to his team, but shiny Mimikyu reassembles his mask so I tossed it in.

4. Yamask- haunted him since childhood but Masky didn't add it to his team until the project fell apart. It's friendly and also likes to find tapes to bring back for its trainer. I specifically put yamask on the team for the mask item it carries around, and made it shiny to get it closer to the white mask color.

5. Pangoro- a powerful Pokémon that Masky exclusively tends to use. It's the muscle power to the team. Tim is... wary of Pangoro's aggressive nature but wouldn't feel good about abandoning it. I had to give him something that was a strong hitter since Masky is usually the one to attack. Pangoro's color scheme works well for Masky's mask too.

I didn't give him a 6th Pokémon because I felt like this was a nice line-up. I did consider and espeon or other eeveelution to play off Hoody's umbreon, but decided none really vibed well for me to add.

I also didn't plan on giving them duplicate Pokémon, but I liked yamask & mimikyu for each for different reasons, so there they are. If anything, they could reflect how the two seemed to work together for a time.

Could you make Yandere Absol(Pet-Like)?

Sure! Here you go, more overprotective Pokemon content! This is a bit short as I wasn't sure what direction to take it but I hope you like it!

Overprotective! Absol Concept

Pairing: Platonic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Overprotective behavior, Paranoia, Isolation, Violence, Brief murder mention, Blood mention, Forced companionship.

Absol is known as the disaster Pokemon.

The Dark Type is seen as a harbinger of disaster since they warn others about incoming natural disasters.

If you think about it they're like the Pokemon world's version of the Oarfish, a type of sea creature associated with earthquakes.

In reality Absol do not make natural disasters.

They simply warn others of them.

Pulling from an upcoming Absol scenario, this trait would probably make an Absol more paranoid than most Pokemon with their trainers.

In fact, I argue they are one of the most paranoid overprotective Pokemon.

Their nature to sense upcoming danger makes them very skittish and defensive.

I imagine they would become violent to things around their trainer due to this fear.

This would explain an Absol's violent nature around other Pokemon and trainers.

You could either catch or hatch you Absol, the way you get them doesn't entirely matter.

These Pokemon are very perceptive and keep a look out when it comes to anything around you.

After all, anything could be a threat.

As a result I feel this would make the Pokemon very volatile at times.

They are easily set off at the idea of any harm coming to you, natural disaster or not.

If only you had another Absol to warn you of the danger of this one.

Due to the Dark Type and the superstition surrounding this Pokemon, people may already stay away.

However, if they don't, your Absol will make sure they will.

Absol seems like another case of a Pokemon who would get rid of the people and Pokemon around you.

They refuse to let you leave your home and are aggressive towards anything that comes near you building.

Friends, family, and other Pokemon are scared off the moment your Absol stands by the door.

The Dark Type would slowly stalk towards them, a red glare in its eyes as it prepares to attack.

Absol normally hate fighting, but yours feels it has a duty to protect its trainer... no matter the cost.

It would probably also be worse if they were Mega Evolved.

I feel Mega Evolution takes time to wear off, like it does in Pokemon Go, so if they are still Mega they act like a guardian angel by your home.

Absol prefers not to be too violent, but due to the added paranoia your Absol may just over do it for you.

Any murder they do is an accident.

They mean well... they just want to protect you from all harm.

So, in this case, Absol is indeed a harbinger of disaster.

That becomes blatantly obvious to you when your Absol walks up to you with red staining their pristine fur.

Still Head Over Heels, But Let's Talk Serena & AmourShipping Honestly

Hey Poké-fans! 👋 So, yeah, I'm a huge Serena and AmourShipping fan. Like, heart-eyes emoji times a million. ❤️ But being a true fan means you can see the things you love with an honest lens, right? And as much as I adore Serena and her bond with Ash, there are definitely some things I've scratched my head about over the years.

First off, while I loved her journey as a Performer, I really wish we saw Serena dive into more battles. Being a strong trainer isn't just about battling, absolutely! But seeing her take on more challenges in that arena would have been awesome for showing her growth and proving that she shouldn't be underestimated. Imagine her with a powerful battler like an Absol – maybe even a shiny one that could Mega Evolve?! That would have been epic! ✨

Just imagine Serena with a Rhyperior — it’d be the perfect way to show her versatility and honor her mother, Grace. It would prove she’s not someone to be underestimated. If Dawn has a powerhouse like Mamoswine, why not give Serena a tank of her own? There's real strength in beauty, and the Pokégirls have shown time and again that they can be both elegant and formidable.

And speaking of Showcases… look, I enjoy the performance aspect, the creativity, and the connection with her Pokémon. But sometimes they did feel a little… repetitive? I can't lie. I often wished they had a bit more of the competitive edge and strategic depth of the old Contests. Just my two cents! 🤷🏻‍♂️

While I truly love Serena’s bond with Ash, it’s always felt just a little one-sided. I wish he had remembered her instantly when they reunited after all those years—it would've made their connection feel deeper. I really wanted to see more of their relationship develop, not just in the present, but through meaningful flashbacks to their childhood. Imagine how powerful it would've been to explore how Serena's move to Kalos with her mom impacted them both—it could’ve added so much emotional weight to their story.

Also, remember Serena's natural athleticism from her Ryhorn racing practice? I always thought it would have been so cool to see her incorporate some of that into her performances or even her training! Maybe some amazing gymnastic-inspired moves? It felt like a little potential that wasn't fully explored.

Finally, while I was over the moon to see Serena return in Journeys, I can't help but feel a little let down by how it was handled. I was really hoping for more substantial interaction with Ash, a proper reunion that truly showcased their growth and the strength of their bond. And the missed opportunity for Serena and May to connect?! Seriously, writers? Two amazing, supportive girls with their own unique journeys meeting and interacting would have been GOLD! 😭 And showing more of their found friendship!

Don't get me wrong, my love for Serena and AmourShipping is still strong! These are just the thoughts of a dedicated fan who sees the potential for even more greatness. I respect everyone's opinions, even those who aren't Serena fans, but these are just some of my personal wishes and minor gripes.

Plasma—Mismagius—♀—Naughty Nature After spending the night in the forest near Ecruteak city, Dia found that one of her Pokeballs was no longer empty. Inside, was Plasma, the Misdreavus. Plasma doesn’t remember much from before this point, but occasionally has flashes from what she assumes was her life as a human. The last memory she has is being in the mountains at night, surrounded by rocks that look suspiciously like tombstones… Mischievous and a prankster, Dia often gets requests for Plasma to help with scaring away humans/Pokemon from entering restricted areas, working in haunted houses, etc. ✩Notes: taller than average, but not max size

Bun (Bunnicula)—Lopunny—♂—Adamant Nature Dia found an egg and a Lopunnite abandoned at her doorstep one day. Unable to find the original owner, Dia decided to keep the egg. Lulu (Dia’s Audino) hatched the egg and helped to raise the rambunctious buneary. Bun is quick to anger and often picks fights—especially when he’s mistaken for a female. Despite his tough guy demeanor, he really wants to become a strong Pokemon that can protect others and trains daily to meet his goals. ✩Notes: wears bandana with Lopunnite

Syntha—Leafeon—♀—Mild Nature Syntha was raised as a housepet by an elderly, retired singer. When she passed away, her children had no interest in taking care of their mother’s Leafeon and simply released her into the city. Alone and afraid, she was found by Dia’s older sister, Saku. Syntha was tired of being cooped up her whole life, and happily joined Dia when extended the offer to travel. Later on, Dia brought home a Vaporeon, Navy, that quickly bonded with Syntha and the two had three children—Nunnally (Sylveon), Dominic (Espeon), and Damian (Jolteon). Her favorite activities include sunbathing, spending time with her family, and singing.

Miloh—Lucario—♂—Quiet Nature The child of Dia's Lucario, Reiki, and an Absol belonging to Dia’s husband. Not long after meeting her then boyfriend (now husband), Dia was presented with an egg by her Lucario, Reiki. She left the egg in Dia’s care and disappeared. Dia’s husband Absol was disinterested in being a father, so Dia hatched it on her own. Miloh’s shy but amiable. He enjoys friendly competition and training for battle. His best friend, Flurn (Flygon) and him play and spar often. Unfortunately, Miloh has been unable to awaken his aura abilities and, therefore, is unable to evolve. ✩Notes: fluffier and has Absol eyes due to father; unable to mega-evolve

Azu—Azelf—Hardy Nature Not long after Dia qualified as a champion rank, she was approached by a trainer who demanded a battle. She agreed, and was met with an Azelf and Latias. They were clearly being mistreated and kept hostage in master balls. Dia quickly defeated him. With a little “persuasion”, he relinquished the two Pokemon to Dia and she released them. Latias flew away, but Azelf decided to tag along. Although they have been caught by Dia, Azu is free to come and go as they please. They rarely visit and, when they do, they only lurk or play with the other Pokemon—Azu’s not interested in battling or interacting with any other humans.

my thoughts on pokemon legends za: what we know so far

i'm back!!!! sorry for not posting in over a year, the hyperfixation has shifted and i started uni which has kept me VERY busy. regardless! i'm super excited for the new game! this post will be based primarily on the trailer that dropped earlier today, though i will be taking info from the official site into account.

general

i think this game is going to be a launch title for the switch 2. i know the trailer and website both said it would be for the switch, but considering a. that the switch 2 is coming out later this year, we just don't know when yet and b. how godawful sv's performance was (and how the visuals seem to be pretty similar to sv's), i think that would make the most sense. if this is true, both will probably be releasing in november, because that's when pokemon games come out (except pla lmao), but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we'll see!

since pla took place like... idk, 300 or so? years before dpp, i'm betting that plza will take place roughly 300 years after xy. given the amount of development and improved technology (and, from what i can tell, a lack of sycamore, clemont, and other characters from lumiose (though this is only the first trailer)), it would have to be at least 100 years in the future. i just think the time difference is roughly the same for parallel reasons. i'll elaborate more on this later, though

OBSESSED with the new battle system. finally, we can truly live out the anime and have our pokemon fucking dodge attacks without relying on evasion boosting moves. the ui is also really neat, i LOVE the info (chikorita used razor leaf, it's super effective, etc) being on the side, it feels a lot less obtrusive. also love that you can see your whole party at all times, i think that's great

speaking of ui, the minimap is fantastic. desperately needed that sooner, thank you gamefreak

the architecture and stuff looks AMAZING, i adore the style

starters are chikorita, tepig, and totodile! definitely gives johto favoritism, but you know what, that's fair, johto has not gotten appreciation like this in years

unsure if the starters will get kalosian(?) forms or mega evolutions, i've seen speculation for both. i think it'll probably be forms, because it doesn't feel like there's any way they could give these three mega evolutions but not the others from those regions, plus samurott and typhlosion already have hisuian forms

relatedly, snivy is definitely going to be the grass starter in the next legends game (assuming we get another one, at least, which we probably will)

regardless, regional variants seem more likely to me, which gives more credence to my theory that this is a good few hundred years post xy, even if this is pokemon, changes like that take a while. fairly confident we won't get mega evolutions for the starters, but it would be cool if we did!

speaking of, mega evolution is BACK!!!!! i'm SO excited, mega evolution is EASILY my favorite mid-battle... mechanic? change? idk, but z moves, dynamaxing, and terastilization don't even come CLOSE

the currently confirmed returning mega evolutions are charizard, kangaskhan, gyarados, ampharos, gardevoir, sableye, altaria, absol, and lucario: a solid mix of mega evolutions introduced in both xy and oras. i imagine all of the old mega evolutions will return (except maybe mega rayquaza and mega mewtwo, given that i can't think of any reason for them to be there)

relatedly, the returning pokemon (in general and not counting the ones already mentioned) are sliggoo, clauncher, furfrou, sandile, bunnelby, pyroar, zygarde (obviously), budew, vivillon, eevee, patrat, pikachu (duh), larvitar, bagon, aegislash, trubbish, weepinbell, chandelure, fletchling, swirlix, spritzee, hippowdon, pidgeot, skiddo, onix, florges, dragalge, dedenne, and inkay, plus obviously all pre-evolutions and evolutions thereof

didn't see any regional variants, but i'm fairly confident they'll show up considering they've been in every game since sm (even though kalos was before that). hopefully we'll get more variants than we did in sv!

not a lot to say about the rivals, tbh. they're fine enough, i don't have enough info to make much of a judgement

i do not trust jett and vinnie. mostly jett. they're leaders of a megacorporation, and i know how that goes in pokemon games (plus jett's design gives HUGE r*se and oleana vibes, both of whom i hate with a passion). the only thing that makes me doubt they're the antags is how early in the promotional cycle they've shown up, but if they're villains i will have called it on sight. stop designing characters like this, gamefreak, you've made a reputation for yourselves now

and finally, AZ!!!!!!!!! i'm super super SUPER excited about him being here, i think that's INCREDIBLE and i'm so happy he and floette are thriving now. he's running a hotel, good for him

SPEAKING OF, this is probably the main reason i think plza will be so far in the future. we've established that az..... can't die, and he didn't reconnect with floette until post xy, so there's no way this game can take place before then (unless it was way way WAY long ago, but he wouldn't be able to run a hotel then cause he would be busy being king. also all the technological improvements and stuff). given that it he's established a hotel and it seems he has been running it for a while, based on the fact that the rivals live and work there, this game has to take place long enough after xy that he would 1, not be an emotional wreck 2, get himself cleaned up and presentable 3, get enough money to buy a building in lumiose city, which i imagine would be pretty expensive 4, buy a building in lumiose city that he can turn into a hotel 5, establish it as a business to the point where people live there and the player character chooses to stay there, and 6, the events of the game occur. step 1 alone had to take years (half joking), so i'm positive that given the other steps this game has to be at minimum a century after xy

Eden has a dark and elegant style so I was searching among dark types. I was choosing between Absol and Liepard. Absol is dark type but more majestic (and should be psychic or get fairy type), and Liepard has a similar color-palette with Eden (dark color with yellow). I decided on Absol. I thinks, it fits more.

For Adam and Eve I was trying to find gender-based forms or evolution but none of them looked fitting for them. So I went with Grimsnarl and Hatterm which were made as counterparts for each other.

Togepi is left after Fine. Togepi did not evolve during fine, Nagisa just thinks it’s cute like that (Ibara goes not think it's cute, it runs everywhere, he needs to look over it and it's driving him insane). Nagisa loves rocks and fossils. For rocks, cool rock with his color palette and cute rock-fairy would do the trick. Also their differences fit Nadisa’s stoic and serious outside and cheerful almost child-like inside. Also, Gigalith helps with mining. I wanted to give him Sableye, but it eats gems and hunts Carbinks as prey, so hard no. For fossils it was hard deciding on one. I went with Archen, I thought it would fit Nagisa’s silliness and trouble with self-identity. Another option was Aurorus for its elegance.

Lillipup = Bloody Mary

Togetic left after fine. Sprigattito does not have much thoughts other than “Shiny’s colors literally Hiyori’s colors”. Hiyori does have a lot of plants tho. I was thinking of the final form, Mewscarada, but I think Hiyori would like more cute mons, then strong ones.

Ardok is a snake. Gimmighoul because money. I was thinking between it and it’s evolution, Gholndego, but the image of Gimmighoul in chest sitting on table while Ibara working was too hard to pass.

Jun does not feel like someone with many mons so I stopped on just the hyena pokemon, Mightyena. Jun had it as Poochyena which evolved after forming Eve.

Valkyrie

Shu: Klinklang. Florges. Tarountula. Magearna (Pokeball). Mika: Klank. Mimikyu. Banette.

Valkyrie’s symbol is gears, and Klink’s line is the only gear pokemon.

Florges is from the Kalos region which is based on France. It’s elegant, feminine and Floette resembles of a doll. Almost all Shu’s interest in one. Red flowers one describes as being able to heal both body and spirit. Shu needs it. Tarountula is the only pokemon that I could think of for knitting. I don’t want to give anyone legendary or mythical pokemon but Magearna is so perfect for Shu! So he can have mythical. As a treat.

Mimikyu is a lonely pokemon who made its rag by itself. Pretty fitting for Mika. I imagine Mimikyu’s cover being torn and Mika fixing it. Also Mimikyu might be based on lovecraftian horror. Perfect. Banette is an abandoned doll that turned into pokemon. Also it’s category is Marionette pokemon.

Hinata: Toxtricity (Amped). Ambipom. Slurpuff Yuta: Toxtricity (Low Key). Aipom. Scovillan

2wink like acrobatics. Acrobatics is an actual move, but a lot of pokemon who can learn it are just fast. Ambipom and Aipom are only acrobatic enough.

I was searching for “twin” pokemons and found Toxtricty only fitting ones. Their form depends on nature, so perfect. Also their bright colors work with 2winks bright palette.

Also i wanted to give them opposite pokemons. Hinata loves sweet cream puffs and Yuta loves spice. So pokemon based on sweet cream dessert and chilly pepper pokemon will go!

Crazy:B

Rinne: Vespiquen. Flapple. Dragonite. HiMERU: Combee. Inteleon. Zoroark. Kohaku: Combee. Cherrim. Hisuian Samurott. Niki: Combee. Appletun (shiny). Alcremie. Munchlax.

There’s little to non bees pokemon… Crazy:B’s symbol is honeycomb so bee pokemon whose design is also heavily based on combs is perfect. Beedrill also worked due to being a poison type, but I see it more like a wasp (and don’t want to give them Kakuna or Weedle).

Rinne gave Niki shiny Applin. When they formed Idol duo Niki-the-airhead-the-oblivious noticed what other units had the same pokemons and suggested Rinne get his own Applin. 

I wanted to find a pokemon who would work as “the village ruler’s family gets that pokemon and trains it”. I decided to go with pseudo-legendary ones and Dragonite fits the most (powerful but friendly, asian-based). It was Dragonair when Rinne ran away and evolved before the main story. Flapple has the ability Hustle which kinda fits Rinne.

I wanted to give two pokemons to HiMERU, one being Kaname’s, another his own. Inteleon has a similar color palette to him (esp fs1) so it was chosen as Kaname’s pokemon. When Kaname enrolled in Reimei it was Sobble, then it evolved in Drizzile, and under Oremeru it evolved in Inteleon. Oremeru grew up abroad so I wanted Pokemon from not-japan based regions. Zoroark cast illusions on itself and was described to be extremely protective of loved ones, even holding grudges on those who hurt loved ones. Perfect.

For Kohaku I went with only japanese-based pokemons. Kohaku has various associations with sakura so the only sakura-based pokemon, Cherrim, is his. For him being trained to do “dirty work” I went with Hisuian Samurott. Unovan Samurott is based on samurai, but Hisuian most likely based on ronin.

Munchlax is all about eating so it would be stupid to not give it to Niki. Although, I almost did not give it to Niki. The thought of needing to feed both Niki and Munchlax who “needs to consume its own weight (231,5 lbs or 105 kg) in food every day” was terrifying. For cooking I search for every pokemon with any reference to food. There is not much not-sweet food pokemons, surprisingly.  I stopped on Appletun and Alcremie. Appletun is friendly and kids eat skin on its back as snacks (*cough* in Galar it is a custom to give an Applin, its pre-evolution, as a romantic gesture *cough*). Alcremie treats trainers who she likes with berries, many patisserie chiefs seek Alcremie as their partners and her cream is described to bring happiness to anyone who eats them. I was thinking of more pokemons (like slowpoke and clauncher), but Niki definitely would not have a lot of them (he had two before meeting Rinne and was thinking it's more than enough), so I cut the list.

Pokémon x Reverse 1999 fanarts made me want to yap about want Absol!Vertin again. Essay incoming...

Absol, known as the Disaster Pokémon.

Absol is often sighted just before natural disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, and storms. Because of this, people mistakenly believe it causes these calamities, leading to its reputation as an omen of misfortune. In reality, Absol tries to warn people of impending danger, but its efforts are often misunderstood, making it a tragic figure in Pokémon mythology. It lives in mountainous regions far from human settlements, only emerging when it senses danger.

This aligns with Vertin being the one who warns others about the Storm. The Timekeeper's role is well-known so she isn't misunderstood like Absol, but I do feel in general she is misunderstood by the Foundation. The Foundation can't wrap their heads around the fact that Vertin only wants world peace so she can keep her Suitcase Fam safe. Vertin isn't greedy like them and they question her genuinely unselfish reasons. People hated Absol thinking it brought danger, but it continued to warn them anyway. The Foundation hurts Vertin repeatedly, but she still strives to protect everyone in it.

Also the bit about being the Pokémon living in isolation made reminded me of Vertin being the sole member of the Timekeeper Department for years until the events of the prologue. Although, Vertin loves interacting with people. She makes friends everywhere.

Absol has a sickle-shaped horn on the side of its head, which is said to detect subtle changes in the environment, allowing it to sense approaching disasters. This made me think of the cresent shaped scar on Vertin's back as seen in Three Doors and mentioned by Arcana.

Absol's Mega Evolution enhances its ability to predict disasters and gives it a more ethereal appearance reinforcing its role as a guardian rather than a harbinger of doom. It also covers one eye, kind of like how Vertin covers her eye with her hat. It's even the same side!

Absol's design and lore may be inspired by the Bai Ze (as seen below), a mythical Chinese creature that warns people of impending disasters. This also makes me want to connect Vertin with Madam Z, but that's be being indulgent.

Its feline-wolf appearance and misunderstood nature also draw parallels to black cats and other creatures associated with superstition. I already associate Vertin with cats and eldritch being so this makes me like Absol!Vertin even more.

Absol is a beloved Pokémon due to its noble nature and striking design, often symbolizing foresight, protection, and misunderstood heroism. I think it's a great fit for Vertin!

ISAT PKMN trainer assignments

i've been having brainrot recently and i havent really seen people doing pokemon trainer aus, just a lot of pokemon mystery dungeon aus which i think require different perspectives for so i figured i may as well give it a shot.

with my assignments i was making sure to think about actual symbolism and tried avoiding the canon pokemon assignments for a] more of a challenge and b] i havent really seen all of them so if i have picked some of the same pokemon my bad.

SIFFRIN

gimmighoul: tried taking siffrin's coin once, failed, now just hangs around with him and has gotten quite attatched.

minior: a pokemon he's had as long as he can remember. gets a lot of weird looks about it though and has never seen anyone else with one.

chingling: the only pokemon caught in the castle. ding ding!

popplio: what a little clown! a fool! just a litter jester doing a preformance!

hisuian sneasel: basically siffren's dagger. i picked the hisuian one over the johtonian one because it's white.

absol: not a pokemon he had before the loops and has a sneaking suspicion those two facts are related since it seems to remember them to an extent.

MIRABELLE

morpeko: i think mirabelle would like form changing pokemon and also. near the end of floor 3 mirabelle gets like, really annoyed and then eats and is fine. thats what morpeko does.

furfrou: a pokemon with plenty of styles to choose from! she hasn't been able to get it styled recently and while she is getting nervous of it not changing, she has noticed it's happier staying as it is.

indeedee: indeedees are helpful pokemon! often used as servants, i feel mirabelle would relate with this

palafin: a hero capable of change! and paladins tend to fight for a cause, often a religious one like who mirabelle is fighting as a maiden of change.

escavalier: we don't have a fencing pokemon but we do have a lancing pokemon! also the fact a shelmet has to be traded with a karrablast is something

ISABEAU

mimikyu: isabeau is constantly putting up a facade of being a bit air headed, disguisigng himself. i also think with mimkyu wearing a cloak with him being a fashion designer would make this the most stylish mimikyu the world has ever seen

leavanny: this pokemon is known for making clothes from it's silk and any leaves it finds, making it into a clothing maker of sorts, they're also super protective.

bewear: what a big sweetie! aw it loves hugging people, it can also snap your back in two... i feel like this the most fitting attacking pokemon isa with it's bulk, cuteness and hidden scariness [something we see from isabeau when he gets... very protective of the sif nickname]

ODILE

carbink: this was my first thought for an odile pokemon, it's a little rock! and with it's links to diancie, a perfect red herring for what she's studying, they're just native to ka bue. she hardly uses it in battle.

steelix: now this is her attacking pokemon! i know it doesn't cover her primary paper type technically but it does cover her use of rock and scissors type by being steel/ground. i also think she mega evolves it from time to time, for the gems theming.

relicanth: i tried to go with the theme of old pokemon for odile, not generations wise but in the way that relicanth hasn't changed in a millenia. it's also a map, which could be interesting with the island siffrin is from.

bronzong: i can't really explain this one i just think it fits with her character? maybe it's the shape language but it is another old pokemon, showing up in the ruins in arceus so once again, more red herrings for her research.

sinistcha: ka bue is very implied to be japan or at the barest of minimums asia. odile is absolutely a tea drinker to me, this might have been one of her earlier pokemon that came with her when she left ka bue. they also have similar hair

drampa: hahahahah funny grandpa dragon joke~ drampa is reported to burn down the houses of any bullies the child they've befriended, odile has said that she would do horrible things for the party. im not fucking with you. think is not just a odile is the grandma of the party joke. i am dead fucking serious when i say this is her most in character pokemon.

BONNIE

applin: i think bonnie tried to gather apples at somepoint and it turned out to be an applin, they kept it. they seem like the type of kid to enjoy bugs [im counting the none apple bit of applin a bug cause it is to me fuck off]

alcremie: a pokemon evolved completely by accident. their milcery took a strawberry from them while cooking and in an attempt to get it back, span around enough to where it evolved. just some complete loony toons bullshit

yungoose: their first pokemon! caught back in Bambouche and their main defence between themselves and sadnesses when they left. i picked yungoose over some of the other early route mammals because a] tropical and b] i fully believe that bonnie bites people.

unovian darumaka: potentially a gift from the party, more specifically odile who was curious of darmanitan's zen form. it's obviously not a darmanitan yet but it is very useful for lighting fires to cook with.

kantonian farfetch'd: it's basically THE food pokemon being a duck carrying a leek and i opted for the kantonian form over the galarian form since the galarian form is far too cool, bonnie is cringe [/pos]

smolive: cooking oil is a crutial part of cooking are you insane and olive oil is some of them best! very useful pokemon to have on hand and it's slightly more emotionally and nervous natural creates and almost parrallel to bonnie where both end in the same outcome of tears since both are young and not yet capable of fully handling their emotions.

LOOP

gimmighoul: somehow the only pokemon they kept when they gave up on the loops, unsure if it actually remembers the loops or is just a clone...

natu [multiple]: loop can't actually catch any pokemon since, no pokeballs and they'd lose it at the end of the loop. so they've been slowly learning how to befriend all the local natu in dormont, secretly on the hunt for the roundest one. they've found shinies before and would usually be more snappy and blunt after all of those loops due to loosing them. they've gotten good at befriending them all too, being able to tell them apart and what they like. they would never admit any of this though.

Jurassic Park Pokemon Teams

The events of the Pokemon World Jurassic Park are much like the events of the original but with small tweaks.

Unlike the original, this film is more sort of a look into the development of the first Fossil Restoration machine. In lore, fossil pokemon are able to be revived thanks to technology from the Devon Corporation and a research lab on Cinnabar Island. For this story, we are setting aside those two and introducing InGen into the mix. InGen is still a Genetics company that is experimenting in genetic engineering.

Fossil pokemon DNA is impure during revitalization, but through the usage of Ditto's adaptable genetic structure, the DNA of the fossil pokemon are completed. This is of course the stand-in for the frog dna that allows the dinosaurs to change their sex/gender as Ditto is quite literally gender-fluid.

The Pokemon version of Jurassic Park is still an attraction somewhat akin to the wildlife zones in Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Of course, to capture pokemon, you have to pay a fee and use the specialized Jurassic Balls made by InGen, spared no expense. The few fossil pokemon not made for capture is of course the carnivorous pokemon. Other than them, the various herbivorous fossil pokemon of Jurassic Park are able to be captured with the Jurassic Balls.

The pokemon that originally inhabited Isla Nublar are pokemon native to the Alolan Pokedex of Pokemon Sun & Moon and some from Pokemon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. Some alolan forms such as Exeggutor and Rattata exist, but others like Alolan Meowth do not.

Dr. Alan Grant Alan's team is primarily taken out of the Unova Pokedex of B2W2. This is because of how Archen and Archeops (as well as the Deinonychus Fakemon I will be making later) are based in Unova. Alan's first scene takes place in Montana, which is of course in America.

Sandshrew- Alan Grant is a paleontologist, and paleontologists due their work by digging. The reason why Alan's Sandshrew isn't a Sandslash is because he isn't a pokemon trainer, and more of a caretaker for them.

Drilbur- Another digging pokemon, and unevolved for the same reasons as Sandshrew.

Dr. Ellie Sattler Like Alan, Ellie's team is taken from the Unova Pokedex of B2W2. She

Leafeon- Leafeon's modern way of evolution is through a leaf stone. As a paleobotanist, I'm certain that Ellie encounters those fossils quite frequently

John Hammond A wealthy Scottsman and head of a genetics company, John Hammond's pokemon team mostly comes from the Crown Tundra Pokedex. Although in this version of the story, he comes from Galar as the Crown Tundra is mostly wilderness.

Copperajah- A reference to the novel, Hammond's Copperajah is genetically engineered to be the smallest of its kind much like the elephant in the novel. This Copperajah is unfortunately very weak and very ill.

Mega Aerodactyl- John Hammond's cane has a a piece of fossilized amber with a mosquito inside. To get an aerodactyl in most games, a piece of fossilized amber is needed to restore the pokemon. However, my version of John Hammond does not have this amber in his cane, but in fact a keystone. His Aerodactyl, genetically modified to have the strongest stats and the most beneficial nature, has its own mega-stone attached to it. John's relationship with Aerodactyl however isn't strong, which is required with Mega Evolution. So, during the climax where the raptors are attacking the guests, Hammond tries to be the hero and mega-evolves his aerodactyl. Of course, this goes terribly wrong and the mega aerodactyl, stressed out from mega-evolving, attacks John Hammond.

Dr. Ian Malcolm As Dr. Ian Malcolm is a chaostician/mathmatician, his pokemon represent chaos and other concepts. As for why Dr. Malcolm's pokemon are fully evolved, I'm unsure. I guess I would say its because they're fully evolved because Dr. Malcolm likes the unpredicatable nature of Pokemon battles. His team isn't meant to be that strong however as he still loses to the T. Rex.

Absol- Always predicting the future chaos to come forth and hated for it, Absol feels like the perfect match for the Chaostician.

Gothitelle- another pokemon with foresight, this pokemon was specifically chosen for how it predicts the future: movement of the stars. Dr. Ian Malcolm predicted that everything would go wrong in Jurassic Park through mathematics. Gothitelle is meant to relfect that.

Haxorus- This is a partial reference to the "Dragon's Curve," a fractal that appears in the book to signify the beginning of a chapter. Its meant to signify the chaotic nature of complex systems. Now while Zygarde is a better pokemon to signify this, I decided not to include it as I didn't want Dr. Ian Malcolm to have a legendary pokemon. His Haxorus' ability is Rivalry which is meant to also reflect him kind of butting-heads with Dr. Grant and Hammond, but being flirtatious and kind with Dr. Sattler.

Dr. Henry Wu Jurassic Park's main geneticist, Dr. Wu is responsible for the creation of this Jurassic Park's fossil pokemon.

Ditto- Wu's Ditto is the donor for the fossil pokemon's hybrid DNA. A theory suggests that Ditto is created out of failed Mewtwo clones. I'm not entirely going with this theory, but its with that theory in mind that I'm giving Wu a Ditto.

Ray Arnold Ray was the chief engineer of Jurassic Park. His team is meant to reflect that.

Klang- Mechanics

Magnemite- Electrical mechanics

Robert Muldoon Being experienced with dealing with predators as Jurassic Park's Game Warden, Muldoon is the only person in jurassic park that is capable of handling the fossil pokemon by having a full team. Meaning, like in the novel, Muldoon survives along with most of his pokemon.

Mega Sceptile- In the novel, Muldoon utilizes a rocket launcher on the t. rex. Mega Sceptile's tail can fire off like a rocket launcher.

Gallade- Its foresight ability is capable of helping it fight in battle, and in an environment like Jurassic Park, it becomes even more useful. In some forms of media, Robert Muldoon is shown to carry a machete, and this sharp weapon is also why Gallade was chosen.

Revavroom- A reference to the "Must go faster!" scene from the movie, Revavroom is modeled after gas powered vehicles.

Sandaconda- Another refence to the movie, this is more sort of a reference to the type of gun Muldoon carried in that film.

Bisharp- Bisharp is a pokemon that gives commands.

Zangoose- while seemingly an odd choice, Robert's rivalry with the raptors is meant to be reflected in Zangoose's rivalry with Seviper. However, in the "shoot her scene," Robert's Zangoose takes the place of Joffrey aka the guy who dies from the velociraptor at the beginning of the film.

Lex Murphy Being older than Tim, Lex is suitable for becoming a pokemon trainer. However, a scene in the movie that sets up her role in the final act mentions her being good with computers. This means she wouldn't exactly have a good pokemon team

Scorbunny- In Tim & Lex's first scene, Hammond asks the siblings if they received the gifts he had sent. In this universe, Scorbunny was the gift Lex receives. Lex is shown to like the sport of baseball, especially in the novel. While Scorbunny is based on soccer/football players, it was a close enough answer to fit.

Dedenne- A reference to Lex being a "hacker" in the movie. I didn't want to give her a rotom, so I instead gave her a pokemon with a connection to wire and currents.

Tim Murphy Being around 10 during the events of the movie, Tim is suitable enough to become a pokemon trainer. So, he would of course have a starter pokemon

Sobble- As mentioned in Lex's reasoning for getting a Scorbunny, Tim also gets a pokemon. His of course being Sobble as he does get severely shocked in the movie, and also goes through traumatic situations that would give a Sobble a headache from crying. Also, its a reptile, dinosaur kids love reptiles.

Dennis Nedry The reason why mostly everything goes wrong in Jurassic Park is because of Nedry screwing up the systems. His death reflects that of what happens in the Novel but with more horrifying implications as Dilodelic is not venomous.

Rotom- A mischievious pokemon that messes with technology, it is the perfect match for Dennis Nedry. In the pokemon version of Jurassic Park, Dennis' Rotom causes the system to shut down along with a few additions from Dennis himself.

Munchlax- This one is obvious, but Dennis is a glutton. Of course he's going to have a Munchlax on his team. And yes, unfortunately Munchlax bites the dust in this version of Jurassic Park thanks to the Dilodelic.

Donald Gennaro The "Blood-Sucking" lawyer Donald Gennaro's team is meant to be fitting of that of a lawyer who's only interest is the money of Jurassic Park.

Sableye- Sableye's diet consists of gems and minerals, all things that can make a man rich. Donald Gennaro is similar to this. When he doesn't find money to be made, he disregards it.
