The best part about bleach is the same reason I dropped it. I like people who you know hang out in their free time. I like found families and found families only. You wanna know the real reasons I watched bleach? My little brother liked it and i saw this image

Like a highschooler whose house is everyone's hang out spot even though they all gotta stay in his room and enter and leave through the window cause of his semi abusive dad. Like Ichigo makes friends with damn near everyone he meets and I love it, but instead of hanging out with his friends or engaging with them meaningfully, the narrative moves on to the next group of friends. Like i even looked up spoilers, they are all oppressed by a system that has actively harmed all of them and ichigo never does anything about it? my boy ichigo? my boy who befriended chad by fighting yakuza for him because he is just that fucking nosey? My boy??

I could talk about the sexism or the filler or the cast that has 18 million people in it that they expect you to know by name immediately but that wouldn't be the reason why I dropped it. And I could talk about the fight scenes or the really cool episode intro cards or the interesting thing it is trying to say about the meaning of life and death or the really really really really really good sound design, but none of that would be the truth.
