So for the fairy rottmnt au… seeing as Leo’s wings are pretty massive proportionally, I can’t help but imagine a baby Leo being extremely clumsy. Like full on tripping over his own wings, knocking stuff over, like a puppy who hasn’t grown into its ears yet. Maybe he started relying on flying all the time from a young age because it was easier to control his wings, which also contributed to him being as strong as he is in agility and speed now.

Also the fact that he makes deliveries? 100% the face man like always ;) I imagine he knows all the gossip.

YES. ABSOLUTELY. baby Leo is constantly tripping over his wings, or losing his balance just from how heavy they are! he’s probably the most accident prone (and clumsy HAH) out of all of them as kids, although Mikey is a close second. Raph learned to be more cautious early on bc of his spikes, and Donnie kinda had no choice but to be really careful.

and yes, that does mean that Leo always relied on flying a lot more as a kid! he got the hang of flying wayyyyy before any of his brothers did, and was naturally a lot more graceful in the air than on land :D that doesn’t mean he still didn’t crash into like, walls and tree branches occasionally, but generally he preferred flying more than anything else! and teenage Leo is no different lmao. honestly even teenage Leo is clumsy as fuck on land, so it’s just less embarrassing for him to stick to flying as much as possible rip

as for the gossip thing,,, yeah. pretty much. he’s also just super nosey and eavesdrops on everybody hdhehfhehfb

Imagine little Turtle Tot Leo practicing his best Lou Jitsu grin in the mirror during the nights he can’t sleep. He’s gotta be just like his idol, after all! So he masters the art of the cocky grin, slowly perfecting his imitation.

Eventually that confident grin becomes his default one, and the quiet, happy smile that he’s born with, the one that he first greets his father with, that one is the rarity.

Until the invasion happens. Until he throws himself into the Prison Dimension. Until he’s beaten within an inch of his life and he’s holding onto his last remnant of his family through sheer willpower alone.

In that moment, looking at the photo of the ones he loves, that quiet smile comes back.

How old do you think the turtle tots are in the comics/art you've shown? (like, roughly, how it's their development)

will probably be a bit long because of pics so!

^ a few weeks after being mutated (basically still newborns, very small)

^ Around 6-7 months! Can be seen crawling around the house

^ Roughly around 8 months old (already starting to string together syllables)

^ Around 3 years old! (Yi is VERY smart for her age)

^ Around 4 years old!

^ extra silly fun fact! they started purring being only a few days old!

ROTTMNT: Lullaby

“Raphie, Raphie!” A frightened orange turtle tot jumps into Raphael’s plastron.

“Whoa! What’s up, Mike?”

With a big sniffle, Mikey looks up. “I had a bad dream..”

“Don’t worry, Mikey. Dreams ain’t real.” With a gentle pet on his little brother’s head, he carries the box shell back to his room.

“I don’t think I can sleep, Raphie..”

The snapping turtle replies with a calming sigh, before jumping into song.

“One little bird, sitting on a branch~. Lost all his broooothers~. With a little “chirp!” ” Raph opens and closes his hand like the beak of a bird. “And a bit of hope, that’s when he heard-“ The red turtle nudges Mikey. “That’s when he heard~?”

Michael’s eyes brighten as he forms his hands into small beaks.

“Chirp, chirp, chirp!”

Raph smiles back with a chuckle, placing the turtle on the bed.

“And then there were two~!” The snapping turtle queues Mike.

“And another one!” The box shell swings his legs.

“Suddenly, there were four!”

“No more alone!”

“Time to go back home.” Raph tucks his brother in. “‘Cause it’s getting late.” He turns around, but soon halts. “Oh, but wait!” Going in for a small kiss on Michael’s forehead, they both laugh. “Can’t forget that!”

“No more sad!”

“Because we’re going to bed~!” Moving to the light switch, Raphael uses the beak hand to speak through it.

“Good night, Mike.”

Mikey replies with the same beak hand.

“Night, Raphie.”

Considering Donnie in the Seperated AU literally had NO friends for the first several years of his life (no his dad does NOT count!!) it prompted Donnie to start developing Shelldon way earlier on out of the desire to have a friend. Even after meeting and befriending April, he still spends most of his days being quite lonely considering she'd be busy with school and stuff. Shelldon was a way to combat that loneliness. But considering the fact that Donnie wouldn't have had nearly as much experience with tech when starting on Shelldon's development, he started out as a very rudimentary AI only able to produce a few simple responses. (Donnie having basically no stanards for what social interactions should be like was not at all bothered by this lol) Over the years however, as Donnie's skillset grew Shelldon would become more and more complex, so at the time where the main story takes place Shelldon Hamato is for all intents and purposes a real person and not just a mere machine.
