Tumblr could fix their video player if they wanted. But no, they keep making it worse. The most recent issue is with their AD videos taking over the audio. This shouldn’t happen. It shouldn’t happen with normal videos, it shouldn’t happen with Ad videos especially, because they show up unexpectedly. This is broken.

what you will be doing:

if you get a conducting video: you will be asked to sing along to a video of someone conducting. we are using conducting videos to make sure everyone is in sync, and i need to be sure you can follow conducting. it shouldnt be hard its sort of like a metronome you just need to be able to keep tempo, and understand when to start singing after a pause. there will be an example video (conducting along to the og soundtrack) and the actual backing track (conducting along to instrumental). please be sure the backing track is playing in the background and audible

if you do not get a conducting video: there will just be a backing track. if you dont get a conducting video dont stress about starting at the right time after a pause, just be sure you can keep tempo. we will still be using conducting videos for the actual remake, you'll just have to learn along the way if you get cast. please be sure the backing track is playing in the background and audible

what im mainly looking for:

your own portrayals of your character. im giving you complete creative freedom. say your line a different way, or faster or slower if you want. take a breath in the middle of the verse. make reaction noises. pitch your notes higher or lower if you have to go the troy iwata rich route. pretend youre actually doing the show live, some minor changes can be made here and there

you can keep tempo. of course if we have conducting videos it would be easier but if we dont, try your best and dont stress about starting at the right time after a pause. just be sure you can keep tempo while youre singing

not mic quality lmao. you dont need a professional mic or anything as long as whatever youre using is decent quality it should be fine. BUT please use whatever you will be using if you get cast. phone mic, singing recorder app, voice notes app, whatever

i WILL be asking for your age unfortunately. please dont lie about it, some actors are uncomfortable with certain ages and we have to respect that. also ill be able to tell when you start singing i promise you i wont share or remember it afterwards and i promise you i dont care lmao

speaking of remember there ARE age limits to all major characters. i might allow 2-3 months of wiggle room, 4 if we're pushing it, but you'll have to specify in the actual audition and ill have to check if your potential co-stars (wow CO-STARS we're getting serious huh) are comfortable with that

feminine and masculine voices wont matter! if you have a fem voice and want to audition for michael go ahead. if you have a masc voice and want to audition for brooke im not stopping you. as long as you can hit the notes well you should be good. if anything this makes bmc more gay and thats very on track with tumblr

there is a chance i will do callbacks and you might be casted as another character if i (or future casting crew) think you fit! but that being said please dont try to cheat the auditions and audition for one with the other in mind

there will be a "main" actor and an understudy who will also act as the characters squip in the play. the squip might have a main and then two additional others for the robot effect instead of just three mains, cause of different portrayals and whatnot. i might open additional auditions if there arent enough people interested in a character like jake and chloe, but AFTER the others are casted for the sake of fairness and all. if i dont, then the two other voices from the squip will step in

most importantly have fun with it! remember this is not a serious project we are just making our silly little remake

auditions will open a couple weeks later depending on the conducting videos cause lemme tell you end of school year is not the best time to do this

Hey, I really like that headcannon of yours with a deaf Donnie.

Would it be ok if I put it into a new fic I'm writing as a base?

I'd like to make a small change or two, like how instead of going deaf later, he was always deaf.

But I feel like this is ultimately your choice because you're the one who thought of this.

Also, as a side note, my mom was actually born mostly deaf.

She had lots of surgeries when she was little to correct that though.

Nowadays she can hear, but she still has trouble.

Like she can hear better out of one ear than the other.

And when talking, you have to speak clearly and face her, that way she can read your lips.

If there's too loud of a background noise, she basically won't be able to hear you at all and will rely even more on her lip-reading abilities.

When watching TV, she can't "hear" the show/movie without subtitles.

And if you cover up the subtitles by blocking their view, she'll often say, "I can't hear the show/movie because you're blocking the subtitles."

People who are deaf, also walk differently. They will end up pointing the front of (the foot, or their toes.) their feet towards each other.

And while her parents worked hard with her to get her to walk normally, she'll often start walking like this if she's really tired.

Another thing that happens, is you'll have a normal (in volume) conversion and be right next to her, and she'll still have trouble hearing you.

But then you could be five feet apart and whisper some random thing so quietly that even you can barely hear yourself, and she'll just end up responding to that random thing you had just said.

Also, no.

She does not wear hearing aids.

So all of this is just normal day-to-day life without any help from hearing aids.

And I'm pretty sure this is a personal choice.

I'm not sure if you have to love a certain amount of hearing to qualify for hearing aids, or if you could just get them without needing to qualify.

But if you did need to qualify for hearing aids, then I'm pretty sure my mom would fall under the qualifications to get them.

And personally, I never asked her why she never had hearing aids.

It's possible that they just don't work for her, she doesn't like the way they feel on her and doesn't want them on her, just can't afford them, just didn’t feel the need to get them, or just some other reason.

I should ask her about that.

Of course, each experience is different depending on the person and how deaf they are.

But this is the (personal and physical) experience I have when interacting with someone who is deaf. (Or partly deaf.)

And I would put this information, along with more researched information, into the headcannon. (If I get your permission, of course.)

I'm glad your mom is still independent even with the hearing troubles. And reading lips is so cool!! My father taught me to read lips when I was younger and I find it fun.

Not hearing a show/movie without subtitles is so relatable. I've always watched EVERYTHING with subtitles on so I do that to. Not being able to hear the audio without them even though I'm not deaf or have trouble hearing.

The Uncanny Survivor Game

My third upload in 2024, it's crazy that I've already made three videos so far. I noticed in my previous two videos (Halo Reach, Sims LS) my voice over audio was very bass boosted and so I added some more treble this time around and it sounds much better.

I also played around with the narration parts and made a cool background in the theme of the video. I got the idea after watching a lot of other youtubers doing similar content. I think it's a fun way to add a bit of visual spice to each video, and also help make them feel separated from each other without completely dismantling them from the body of work that is my channel (art school brain taking over).

This game was also pretty tricky, I don't know if it looks like an easy game to play in the video but it was actually kind of hard. I actually had an initial playthrough that was originally going to be the one I used for the video, but I paused the game to go to the title screen just because I wanted some footage of it and then there was NO continue option!? Honestly wild, so I had to restart and honestly I'm glad I did, I had a much more entertaining cast the second time around (they give you the same characters but their personalities are always randomly assigned and the teams are also randomized each playthrough).

Next up I want to continue on my Halo series. I've played CE and Halo 2 now so the next couple of videos will be of those games and I've also made some tracks on a couple of Animal Crossing videos, I've mentioned in stream that I'm working on a video showing off my finished island in ACNH so that should be out some time in April, but the other video will be a secret for now :)

Anyways that is all from me for now. Gonna do a blog post each time I upload a video, and maybe some in between if anything exciting happens in my life. This is really fun, it feels like a little personal record of my journey on YouTube. I feel like after almost 6 years of uploading, I've finally found the kind of content I want to make and what my style is.

I'm always best when I work with a deadline, so I've set myself a personal goal of a video every 10 days. That gives me a good amount of time to make a quality video. I do work a 9-5 so it can be tricky finding time for video making but I'll just keep doing what I'm doing, and see what happens.

Handmade DC intro title card for a Shazam film that I made up!!⚡️

This post is kinda interesting because I have not tried my hand at video editing in a while. I’m hoping to get one of my friends to help me install photoshop on my computer so I can remake this sequence with actual 3D assets. But for now? They’re hand drawn in procreate.

I thought I would share some behind the scenes of how I made this for anyone who might be interested in doing something similar! :D

Okay so I decided to make this intro as kinda like a “ooh what if I made my own Shazam film? How would I do the opening DC title? I would want it to be like a dark and spooky night, then have the camera be panning down through the clouds. Then I could easily transition into the opening scene because that takes place during a dark and stormy night. OOoOoO.”

But first, in order to do that I had to make modifications to the DC logo. I didn’t want to use any premade 3D assets they had; I wanted to make my own. However, I don’t currently have photoshop, so I had to improvise and make a 2D logo kinda look 3D with some extra layers and shading tricks. I did this in procreate, but any art app will do really. Just keep your preferred perspective in mind.

Then after I was done with making sure my perspective was all good and in check I then proceeded to decorate the hell out of the logo with a bunch of clipping masks lol. I just slapped a bunch of different things on there. Some lense flares, some random brushes, some multiply layers, whatever. I didn’t really have a plan in mind when I did this I just kinda went with the vibes.

Then after that I made another file where I just worked on the little sparkle effect that I added in. For the sparkle effect I just picked like a default brush in procreate that looked pretty and then animated it to do a little slide across the letter “D”.

Next, I did some work on the backgrounds. I made sure to have really “tall” files so that way I could make them slide down in my video editor. This kinda gives that vibe that we are descending through the clouds, hopefully towards an establishing shot, for our opening scene, for our fake movie.

I made two parts for this. One animated background where I changed to opacity of the backlight for each frame to kinda give the illusion that lightning was peaking through the clouds. The second was just some clouds that I was gonna overlay on top of the DC logo, so it just felt more like everything was in the scene together.

I would provide video examples of this, but tumblr only allows me to upload one video per post. And if you’re wondering what brushes I used to this? I just googled “Procreate free cloud brushes” and downloaded the top result.

The ones I’m using are made by an artist named DI, and I got them off of gumroad. Info for their socials provided in the third image below.

And then once I had all of those assets together I just edited them all together in a program called HitFilm Express. I used to like it a lot since it’s free, and I used to use it to edit YouTube videos. That was back when I used to upload my Minecraft videos with my friends online lol. However, recently HitFilm has put a lot of features I used to use behind a paywall so :/. I’m probably going to look for alternatives sometime soon.

Normally I don’t mind being restricted in some sense for a free program, but they disabled the ability to fade clips in and out, and I think that’s a vital tool. It’s a shame to see it locked behind a paywall because I used it in pretty much all my projects.

And lastly the audio! I just found free to use clips of rain sounds, thunder claps, and then some ambient music. The track you can hear in this short clip is the intro to the song Redeye - Green House (1994). The artist is also known as Tobias Beldermann if any of you guys were curious where I got that from.

Buttttt yeah! That’s about all I have for showing you guys how I made my little 5 second clip. I’m not really one who’s qualified to make “tutorials” in any sense, because most of what I post online is just me dicking around and having fun, so I don’t want to be super serious. But, I also like showing my process just so if anyone out there is maybe interested in doing something similar, well then they have some ideas for where to start.

 The best news is we have managed to find over 107 behind-the-scenes photographs from the original film.  They come from Rob Martin, who was meticulous at labelling these photos; the information includes the date when they were taken the location and which are the best photos to use

Tolerance Member Helen Batty approached me with more photos, which included shots taken on the last day of shooting at the Odeon Cinema in Huddersfield and the Ropewalk Pub. While going through the Tolerance film paperwork I came across the shooting schedule the props and costume lists all added more to the Tolerance story

This new version of the blog written for the 25th Anniversary of the film also includes screengrabs taken from the Tolerance film from a cleaned up digital copy that Ian Medley made in 2020

Background

The Tolerance Project was made up of a group of non-disabled and disabled people aged between 18 and 25 in the West Yorkshire area.

The idea behind the film was one of Jeremy Walkers many ideas and it was a good one we first began talking about making a disability awareness film in 1997 in fact here I am on the front cover of a 1997 edition of CDS news talking about our early plans to Huddersfield Examiner Reporter Jenny Parkin there was even an interview with me inside the booklet

We wanted to make a film that reflected the life of young disabled people in the 21st century. It was important to us as a group that it was funny, and that it would capture the humour within the group. At the same time, we wanted it to deliver a serious message about what it was like to live with a disability day-to-day.

The film has five main themes: Employment, Social Life, Transport, Accessibility, and Relationships. We chose these themes because they were important areas of all the lives of the group members.

If we were going to make the film we wanted to be involved with it as much as possible provide as many of the cast and crew in the finished film as we could. In the end other members of the Tolerance who were not in front of the camera worked behind the camera in the various behind the scenes roles.  

After a couple of false starts we approached a company called Eclipse Productions run by Richard Hellawell. The film itself was shot between the 16th to the 23 August 1999

The script was written by Richard Hellawell with input from Tolerance members; myself and Jeremy Walker were the film’s producers. In keeping with the humour we wanted the film to portray, we included film spoofs of Officer and a Gentleman, Star Wars, and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

45 seconds and we begin with our first film spoof, Star Wars, when the film starts with the standard Star Wars opening crawl. Instead of detailing a rebel attack on the evil empire lead by Darth Vader it tells u about the Tolerance group and what you can expect to see over the next 25 mins

Tolerance uses all original music from a number of film and TV shows, raided from my music collection. 1 minute 22 seconds with the Star Wars music still playing, we get a nice opening shot of our leading man, David Smith, fast asleep, who plays our hero Robert clutching a book about the latest Star Wars film, The Phantom Menace (episode I), with his wheelchair close by.

David Smith (www.davidsmithactor.co.uk) has gone on to do some great things in the acting world appearing in episodes of Moving On for the BBC, Emmerdale for ITV, and the film Electricity. I think he gives a great performance in our film and I would love to work with him again someday.

Please note: unless mentioned in the commentary, all the actors in Tolerance are non-wheelchair users. Tolerance members did insist that all members of the cast and crew should use wheelchairs to get the full experience, before, during, and in some cases after filming was complete.

Deleted scene

The opening of the film was going to be quite different is detailed in the original script.

Scene 3: Princess Leia Dream Sequence

The first deleted scene was the first of the intended film spoofs, taking off the popular science fiction film, Star Wars. In the finished film, there is a Star Wars homage, but the director, Richard Hellawell, shot it differently from the script. In 1999 when we were filming, there was no CGI, nor did we have the budget for anything out of the ordinary!

Robert is in a Star Fighter ready to fire his thermo bombs into the Death Star. Dissolve to Robert, who receives a medal from Princess Leia, but she is not Princess Leia, she is Robert’s girlfriend, Julie.

Interestingly some of the deleted scenes were included in the props list  The Star Wars dream sequence for example has the following list attached to it Star Wars Footage blue screen equipment fighter pilot clothing medal Princess Leia dress

1 minute 47 seconds After the introduction of our leading man, we get the introduction of our leading lady, Claire Abbot, playing Julie. Like David Smith, Claire gives a great performance and I would love to meet her again. If you can help me find Claire, I would be most grateful, as I have not been able to find out any information about what she is doing now. Sadly, this is a recurring theme in Tolerance.

The use of Perfect Day is a romantic theme in the film. I wanted to use the all star Children in Need version, but Richard Hellawell went with the original Lou Read version. I have to admit in hindsight that I think this was the better choice.

2 minutes

Julie Fountain plays Julie’s mother and she would also appear in the party scene at the end of the film. She has worked on many TV programmes and is a lecturer and acting coach. (www.linkedin.com/in/julie-fountain-50968226/?trk=public-profile-join-page)

The scenes where we see Robert and Julie at home were shot at different houses, belonging to the mums of Tolerance members, Liam Centino and Gemma Blagbrough. These shots were recorded on the first day of the shoot. On the 16th of August Unfortunately, it did not go well; we had awful weather; we were nervous; and filming overran because somebody kept ruining the take with his laughing, not naming names.

The shooting schedule also notes how many pages of script we had to shoot each day on that first day we only shot the first 4 pages of the film but it seemed to take forever  

 If you wondering how long a typical filming day was like on the film the first day of filming started at 830am in the morning and we were still shooting at 7pm that day proved to be an exception to the rule most shooting days started at 7 in the morning   

The shooting schedule also has the word Skel written on it most notably in the scenes shot at the Worklink office and town sequences. This indicates that a Skeleton Crew was used in film terms that means a small crew of people required to get up early in a morning, to shoot scenes in a location where a few or no members of public are about to interrupt them a typical Skeleton Crew will include the following people

Director of Photography Directors of photography are responsible for the photographic heart of a production.

They read the screenplay and work closely with the director to discuss the look and feel of a film.

Each shot is marked up for focus and framing by the focus puller and then the DoP oversees the lighting of the set for the first take.

Make Up/Hair

In film and TV drama, hair and make-up designers help actors portray their characters by using hair and make-up to create a look.

 In pre-production, they work closely with the director to understand the style of the story.

Production Assistant Helps prepare the set with lights, props, equipment etc.Assisting costume designers, directors, camera people and other crew members. Printing and distributing daily paperwork (e.g. scripts, call sheets)

Location Audio (Sound Recordist) Sound recordists work intimately, fitting personal mics and monitoring

the sound output on all on-screen talent and contributors.

They communicate with all members of the production and crew, especially camera operators and directors.

Gaffer

During filming, they work out the positioning of the lights and fastest way to change the lighting setups between shots.

Gaffers mediate between the DoP and the rest of the lighting crew.

They're also responsible for safety and need to comply with the law on electricity, driving and employment.

Grips his responsibility is to build and maintain all the equipment that supports cameras.

This equipment, which includes tripods, dollies, tracks, jibs, cranes, and static rigs,

is constructed of delicate yet heavy duty parts requiring a high level of experience to operate and move.

2 minutes 41 seconds Julie’s sister, Mary, appears asking for her cup of tea. Mary was played by Laura Brown, sister of Tolerance member, Sarah Brown. Both Sarah and Laura moved back to Newcastle with their parents about a year after the film was shot, but please get in touch if you read this !* Footage from this scene was used to highlight the issue of Family and Relationships in the Tolerance film

With all of this time off I had I was able to play with my website and make some much-needed updates and changes. So here is what you will see when you go back on there:

1. HOME page – I added new colored wings so they would stand out more and look more updated and fresh (don’t ya just love the rainbow one!), the image next to my contact info has changed with all black female pageant title winners to celebrate Black History Month (FYI, this image changes monthly), I have a new fax number if you happen to want to fax something to me that you would like to mail (you can request our mailing address by phone, it does not show up on the website for safety reasons but our Brick and Mortar Youth Center will be accepting mail when it opens later this year). I updated my Mission Statement you can see that at the top of the page (let me know what you think).

2. RUPYS HerStory page – I added my business bitmoji image, I added “Our Goal” statement and the new mission statement can be seen on this page as well.

3. CONTESTANTS REGISTRATION page – this page has been updated to reflect all of our pageants and they have PayPal buttons so you can pay your fee right on this page instead of the form or via an Invoice. (payment portal page is still in the works).

4. YOUTH RESOURCES page – I added some more links on this page and if you scroll to the bottom of the page you can see I added Self-Care strategies document for youth and just beneath that are some much needed resources to keep you rockin’ and rollin’ in life!

5. PAGEANTS page – I changed the background to make it more colorful because this is where the magic happens! You can also see our first two flyers for the new year (the Valentine Prelim and the Inner Beauty Pageant flyer) – get those registrations in.

Lastly, I think I found my Face of RUP winner but it’s not a sure thing so if all goes well, I will be announcing this person before Spring! Stay tuned and don’t forget our doors open back up on Monday, February 5th 9am PST, be on the look out for my first Week Ahead Audio of the new year! Regular daily social media posts, workshops, classes, etc. will resume next week and Have a great weekend!

Ren’Py Tricks: Textbox Options/Text Speed Preview (Mock Textbox)

I originally posted this on my Wordpress blog, but I figured I'd share it on Tumblr as well.

Update June 5th 2022: A solution to the issue with having to hide the mock text screen repeatedly has been found, thanks to KigyoDev!

A few years ago, I joined up with 4noki to help create Who Is the Red Queen? for the Spooktober Jam 2021 competition. While I was not the main programmer (that was Justinn!), I assisted with some little things here and there—one of which was the spur-of-the-moment creation of a textbox preview, pictured above.

This is an incredibly useful addition to an options screen. It allows the player to immediately look at their changes to the speed of the text and other such textbox display settings without having to undergo a pattern of trial-and-error where they keep opening and closing the settings screen just to check. Within this post I am providing only the code and a brief explanation on how to install it, as I do not have the time to make a whole tutorial post at the moment. I simply wanted everyone to finally have access to this after I had been sitting on it for months.

Also, if you’re going to be adding a textbox opacity setting to your game, I highly recommend also including an opacity slider on your quick menu to further reduce this trial-and-error pattern! It’s very useful for the player to simply adjust the transparency on a case-by-case basis—I personally find myself adjusting transparency a lot in any VN where there’s a slider on the quick menu for various reasons, such as being able to see a CG better or making the text more readable on a busier background.

Please keep in mind that I created this for a jam project. There was a limited amount of time I allotted to myself to figure this out before I had to move on, so this method isn’t exactly the most refined method out there. If someone else figures out a neater way to do some of this, I’ll let everyone know in this post.

Mock Textbox Code

This is a separate screen. You can copy and paste this anywhere in your screens.rpy, but I recommend putting it underneath the preferences screen. If you’d like, you can also make a new .rpy file and save this code in there to keep it all nice and neat.

Hiding Mock Sample Text

(Issue solved by KigyoDev): In order to ensure that the sample text is hidden when you navigate to other screens, add the following code to the top of your game menu screen:

CAVEAT: If your options screen is split up into separate tabs using the SetScreenVariable() method, you must still add Hide("mock_text") to the action list of the buttons that switch tabs. (Tip: you can have a button perform multiple actions by putting the actions in a list between square brackets [], like this: [SetScreenVariable("audio"), Hide("mock_text")])

Installation

Paste mock textbox code somewhere.

Use the mock textbox with the code use testbox somewhere in your Preferences screen. In Who Is The Red Queen?, use testbox was placed inside a fixed with a precise position.

Style and move around and futz with as you need.

Add in the code that ensures the sample text will be hidden when screens are switched.

Mock Textbox will now show up in your screen!

I don’t know why but it always feels like it makes the picture look better and sharper. I actually really like the smooth colors slider. Smooth Colors is the next slider that will find color noise in the video and tries to blend it with the other pixels and make the video look much better.

CPN : Ximalaya strikes again ⚡️

I delayed posting about this cause I wanted to ramble more. lol. and I’m personally curious with the frequency of his audio recordings lately. 📻

➡️ So I’ll start with what’s been going around and questioned by alot of BXGs. Another mystery voice popping up. How many mystery voices do we really need to catch? LOL. Anyway. The episode in question is Episode 75. I uploaded it here and listen if you hear something aside from his voice. Along the 8sec mark.

🤡 speculations:

• The “voice” is Like someone counting down or saying “it’s done” or “is it done”. As if he needs to reach a certain timestamp or length or recording.

• He is speaking fast because he wants to do the 17 second time length. The one we heard is either counting down to make sure he does reach that mark or asking if he is done already. In kadian 17 means together. Why is it so important to Kadian this? Well. His past recording lengths are as follows:

Episode 72 : 23 seconds Episode 73: 13 seconds Episode 74: 33 seconds

All very sensitive numbers. Ai Zhan. Yi Zhan. Zhan Zhan. Together.

Together? Well. They are both in Beijing since 12/6/2021. He started posting those episodes mentioned 12/5.

So whether it is GG whose voice was caught in his recording or the Kadian route, well, take what you want with this. BXGs are really keeping an eye out on his Ximalaya posts because of what happened before.

➡️ Now, I wanna move on to his post frequency. Just a sort of background to those who don’t know why him posting consistently is pretty sus. When the brand new CPN about Ximalaya came up, alot of people were “what the hell is xmly?”. Even I was confused cause I forgot that he still had that on. Lol.

If you look at his account, there are 81 uploads. 75 of it are his own audio recordings marked as “episodes” and the rest are promos. I looked at show description, it said expected to be until 200 episodes. I’m not sure if he is contractually obligated to reach that or is it’s just a usual number that shows like his achieve.

His topics really has a wide range. from motos ( yes he did an episode about rossi for his bday ), lego, random facts, astronomy things ( my fave ) and greetings etc. but the posting frequency for the past months.

OH QUESTION: in clip studio how do you make the tweening squash and stretch like that? I'm pretty new to the animation part of the program so forgive me if it's like, very obvious where it is but Ive never seen a way to squash/stretch a layer like how your animation does, I've only seen how to resize a layer

SURE I CAN DO MY BEST TO HELP!!!

Just know that I am very new to this as well and this something here PROBS has a better way of doing it, but IDK THAT WAY SO. Here's how I did it.

First off I have the big boy clip studio idk if the cheaper one works with this so just know that.

MY BADLY MADE TUTORIAL TIME!

(Will also link video tutorials at the bottom that I used to help me! So if you don't wanna read my ramble explanations just skip to that LOL-)

((Also things will be broken up into like- chapters? as I don't know how much you know and want to help cover some bases that I learned that you or others may not know! But Know I am still learning so feel free to try and do things your own way! :D))

STARTING BASICS

So to start off I use the Project:Animation option in clip for this, there are preset sizes for things, which i suggest using first trying things out. I didn't really mess with anything on the right side sense tbh starting off all you need is on the left, being canvas size and the amount of blank space you want.

If you don't know what blank space it's like... A little secret place you can scribble down notes for animation to keep in mind, and won't show up in the animation when you're done exporting it.

This is also useful to overflow the things you want to tween as they don't get chopped off awkwardly. See how I drew her skirt and ear going past it? That's why.

So I can move them freely without fear of it ending suddenly! This is something I learned was a good tactic to do for when I did my vtuber models as it is also a type of tweening!

TLDR: Everything in the box will be seen, and everything outside of the box wont!

and if you want to change any of the blank space to add more or less go to Edit>Canvas Properties... It should be near the bottom of the list!

Correcting speed!

Clip studio does NOT actually show you the correct speed of your animation by default! To make it go closer to the actual speed of your animation go to Animation>Playback Settings>Prefer Speed! As by default clip has it set to prefer quality, which is just it trying to keep it looking nice while playing but may skip some frames! So that is something to check!

You can add music to clip studio animations!

Select the frame you'd like to add music onto, go to File>Import>Audio. BUT- make sure the audio file is a WAV file not a MP3. While MP3s work they are more likely to become off sync, while WAV's stay on sync.

Clip doesn't keep transparent backgrounds with gifs idk why but it's cringe.

PLACING YOUR TIMELINE

(I closed my brushes and some things to help be less distracting :D )

Personally I like to keep my timeline at the bottom of my screen as it allows the most space.

If for some reason your timeline isn't showing or you accidentally deleted it just go to Window>Timeline and it should appear! You can make it appear on non animation projects as well.

ANIMATION FOLDERS

So if you used clip for animating there's a good chance, your timeline may have looked something like this.

Which, isn't bad. But it's not great. (I know because I did it like this until yesterday BUT GOOD NEWS, YOU NO LONGER NEED TO DO THIS STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. (tbh it feels more like hell but w/e)

BECAUSE WE HAVE ANIMATION FOLDERS.

Now while this just sounds like a normal folder, it's very specific and will allow you do edit things with tweens! But it can also let you turn that stairway to heaven into a hallway!

Like say you want to do a simple jumping gif?

Put all of the separate layers into the animation folder! it'll show you only the first layer at first, don't worry that's normal.

Right Click next to the Layer 1, and select the layer name of the frame you'd like to add next! And continue until all your frames are down! And

Congrats!!! You did it!!! You have a little animation!!!! You did it!!!

TWEENING/KEYFRAMES

(Im going to be using the Sweet Pea waving as my example here!. And to note after i drew her body parts separately, I copied it, and merged the the limbs with the lineart to their colors to make the process easier.)

So. You know how I just showed you how to put things together in animation folders? We're not doing that anymore, Unless you want 2 things to move the exact same way.

Instead your going to put each moving part into it's own animation folder.

Have everything in? Good. Now what your gonna do is on the right where the layers are select them. Then you are going to press this button that looks like a zooming square.

This will allow you to add keyframes onto the layer. Note. You will not be able to draw on those layers with this on so if there is something you want to fix, you can turn it off the same way you turned it on.

There are 3 types of keyframes, yellow - hold, green - linear, and Blue - smooth. I only used blue here so that's all I'll be going over with. TLDR it does what it says, it keeps the animation from key 1 to 2 smooth.

And with keyframes this is where your going to be able to squish and move things freely and how you move things is you'll click this.

and from there I suggest moving your anchor point (the crosshair) to the base (say I'm trying to move her head so I would place the crosshair where her neck is as that's where it would be anchored to the body!)

And Im going to assume you know how to place keypoints. but if you don't click on the timeline and move the head to where you would want it to be at that time, and it will appear automatically!

And once you have those down NOW you can get to the squash and stretch!

These red and green lines will be pretty much how you handle everything! They're how you can edit your keypoints by changing position, scale ratio, ect!

if you want to focus on one thing you can click the XYV to remove that color of lines, or click the eyes to view only certain types of movements!

and youll really want to just play around with slightly tilting and moving the keyframes here to try and get the tween motion you want! It's a bit tricky So i suggest starting small!!!

ENDING

Summary: The only people who knew she was actually a Stark were her dad, her step-mom Pepper, and her “uncles” Happy and Rhodey. A promotion within Stark Industries takes her from an already-sought after position in the Weapons Anaylsis Unit straight to the Avengers as a Weapons Enhancement Specialist... which means her dad is her new boss. There’s only one rule at work: no fraternizing with coworkers. There’s one more rule at home: no dating any Avengers. No one knew Tony Stark had a daughter. No one but Tony Stark and his daughter. Well, and her step-mom Pepper. And her godfather Rhodey. And her uncle-not-uncle Happy. But no one in their everyday lives knew. She was given her mother’s maiden name and kept a secret, even when she turned 17 and moved to a small apartment near NYU’s campus (with Happy stationed right next door, of course) to start life as a truly normal adult, or as close to normal as an undercover Stark could be. When she graduated with her PhDs in robotics and electrical engineering at 25 — proving brains really do run in the family — she moved into her own apartment in Manhattan, funded by her father under the pseudonym “Michael Myers.” Subtlety was never his strong suit.

Fortunately for you, growing up without the Stark name let you live a relatively normal life. It also allowed you to apply for a position within Stark Industries without being ushered past any red tape because of who your father is. Outside of the financial advantage you had, you worked for your spot in a STEM career. You suffered through every man in your field belittling your work despite knowing less than you. You dealt with the constant interruptions and “well, actually” because of your gender. You powered through late nights and early mornings when your mind was flowing too smoothly to quit.

The last thing you wanted to do was have all that work disregarded because you shared a name with genius billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony Stark. So you filled out the application, sent in your resume and cover letter, and attached three letters of recommendation from your professors. You went through hours of interviews, background checks (conveniently redacting your father’s name), and polygraph tests until that offer letter showed up in your email. You even had to sign the Non-Disclosure Agreements that would bar you from discussing *anything* work-related with anyone outside of your department.

You spent your first year in the weapons analysis department, evaluating alien weaponry and determining how it worked and how to disable it. You had your fair share of mishaps, of course. Holes blasted into walls, fried robot dummies, even burnt animal carcasses. By the end of your first year, your supervisor sent a commendation and proposal for you for an undisclosed promotion. After Pepper Potts “thoroughly examined your resume, cover letter, and accomplishments during your tenure with Stark Industries,” as the letter read, you were awarded a position working on the Avengers’ weapons as a Weapons Enhancement Specialist. You’d never see a fight in-person, but you were assigned to work on advancements and post-battle repairs for everyone, from the Winter Soldier’s arm to the Falcon’s wings to Vision’s... everything. The only heroes you wouldn’t work on were Iron Man and War Machine (those were your dad’s territory) and Spider-Man.

On your first day in your new position, the one and only Pepper Potts showed you to your new lab on the 47th floor. It took all your willpower to look your step-mother in the eye and say, “Wow, Miss Potts. This is amazing. It’s such an honor to meet you,” with a straight face to convince any passerby that you had no outside affiliation with her. Even if her eyes stayed steady on you, you could see her mentally rolling them.

Once you were alone behind the doors of the elevator, conversation changed course.

“You’re going to be sharing a lab with someone else,” Pepper said.

“Sweet. As long as they’re competent, that’s fine by me,” you shrugged. Part of earning your degrees was learning to share a workspace with others, even those who bumbled and fumbled with no idea what they were doing. You’d had more hair singed by nearby explosions than you’d like to admit.

“He’s still in college so he’s not here as often as the others. Most of his work will be on Spider-Man’s gadgets and suit, but you can use him for any help you need.”

Walking past the familiar faces of Dr. Banner and Dr. Cho in their respective labs, Pepper ushered you into your lab, where you were met by your father and put on the same excited facade you did with Pepper.

“Oh my god, you’re Tony Stark! This is incredible! It’s such an honor to meet you, sir!”

He shook his head at you and reluctantly accepted your outstretched hand. Oh, the jokes you’d be making at family dinners.

“Yeah, anyway, this is your new lab, Miss [Y/L/N]. Make yourself at home. This lab rat over here is mister Parker. If you have any questions, he can at least bullshit an answer for you.”

The young man on the other side of the lab perked up at the sound of his name. He tugged the goggles off his face and set down his soldering rod to rush over to you.

“Hi. Hi, I’m Peter,” he said, reaching his hand out to you.

“I’m [Y/N]. It’s nice to meet you, lab partner.”

He looked to be a bit younger than you and at least relatively smart, if the MIT sweatshirt peeking out from under his lab coat said anything. If your dad gave him an internship like this, you knew you shouldn’t question it. He had to be a genius.

The kid just smiled at you, continuing to shake your hand past what most would deem socially acceptable.

“Okay, enough of that,” Tony said, pushing on your joined hands to separate you two. “Mister Parker might be in and out of the lab from time to time. He joins the Avengers on the occasional recon mission for immediate repairs but since he’s on break from classes, you’ll see him more often than not. Play nice.”

When he noticed you surreptitiously looking Peter up and down, he added, “Remember, no fraternizing with coworkers.” He pointed a finger directly at you before he spun and pointed to your fellow lab mate, realizing he should warn Peter too to save face.

“All the blueprints you need for the Tin Man’s arm are in the system. We’ll have you start on that and see what you can do about minimizing the sound that thing makes. Any other questions, give Pep a call.”

“Thank you, mister Stark. I really do appreciate everything,” you said genuinely.

“Yeah, well… don’t let me down,” he replied, patting you on the shoulder on his way out. Pepper followed close behind, leaving you alone with Peter Parker.

“So Peter,” you started, sliding onto the lab chair next to where he remained standing, “tell me about yourself.”

“Uh… what do you want to know?” he asked as he shoved his hands into his coat pockets.

“How old are you?” you asked immediately.

“I’m 21.”

Only four years younger than you. So you’d probably get along just fine.

“I assume you’re at MIT?” He nodded. “What are you studying?”

“Biomolecular and mechanical engineering.” He said it so casually, you’d think he was talking about the last song he heard on the radio.

“Damn,” you responded, eyes wide. “I thought robotics and electrical engineering was wild but fuck, that sounds like hell.”

He laughed and nodded, letting a bit of the tension in his shoulders fall. “Yeah, it’s not easy. But it’s worth it.”

He shot you a small smile before gesturing back at his project. “I should probably get back to work and let you get started.”

For the rest of the day, you familiarized yourself with the Winter Soldier’s arm to figure out how to… turn the volume down? You assumed it was the gears inside causing the noise, but part of you wanted to outfit an audio jack and speaker just to fuck with your dad.

You and Peter worked in relative silence, aside from the playlist he had quietly playing through the lab sound system. When lunch rolled around, however, you finally spoke up.

“Hey Peter,” you called, his eyes flicking from the chemical beakers in front of him up to you. “First of all, what are you doing?”

“Um, it’s Spider-Man’s web fluid. Just trying to find more durable combinations.”

“Interesting.” As much as you wanted to touch the stringy substance, you knew better than to fiddle with someone else’s lab work. “Okay so second thing, in my last position, I’d just order food and have it brought to my floor but now that I’m on an exclusive floor, what do you do for lunch?”

“Oh, there are a couple security guys who have clearance to come into this floor. They just can’t get into any rooms so you’d have to meet them at the elevator. But I usually find something in the kitchen down the hall.”

“Oh, sweet. Thanks!” you said as you made your way out the door. Before you could fully exit, you turned back to see if Peter wanted you to grab anything. Once he promised he’d take his own break ‘once I get this one thing figured out,’ you continued to make your way to the kitchen.

As you drew closer to the doorway, you could hear three voices speaking over each other. They didn’t sound angry, but they were definitely arguing. You opened the door anyway and almost immediately froze in your tracks. The Falcon stood with one hand on his own head and one on the Winter Soldier’s head while Captain America rolled his eyes before those same eyes landed on you, along with the rest of the room.

“Perfect,” Sam started. “Hey new girl, between the three of us,” he said, pointing to himself, the Soldier, and the Captain, “who has the best hair?”

“First of all, my name is [Y/N]. Second,” you continued, making your way past them to the fridge you hoped your dad kept stocked with goodies, “that’s an unfair question.”

You grabbed a soda and popped it open before turning back to the three men. “Your hair suits each of you. Cap wouldn’t look good with Winter Soldier hair and Falcon wouldn’t look good with Cap’s hair.” You took a few steps closer, leaning against the island counter between you and eyeing each of them. Your eyes settled on the Winter Soldier, unashamedly flitting across his face and admiring the sharpness of his features. “You,” pointing at him, “could probably pull off either of their looks, though.”

Bucky smirked at you, but his rosy cheeks gave away a hint of embarrassment at your compliment. Steve and Sam, on the other hand, weren’t taking it quite as gracefully.

“What?!” Sam shouted. “Okay, now I know you’re lying. I could pull off Cap’s hair for sure.”

“You know, I think shaggy hair would really suit me,” Cap said, only half sarcastically.

You giggled to yourself as the three of them started talking over each other again, all dead set on their own hair being the best of them and positive they could pull off the others’ looks. While they bickered, you searched the pantry until you found a snack to at least get you through the remainder of the day.

“Alright boys, it’s been fun but I have work to do,” you said as you walked past them again. “Actually, wait. Bucky — can I call you Bucky?” He nodded even though you continued anyway. “If you could stop by lab six today, I’d love to check out your arm in person. The digital renderings aren’t quite the same.”

“Uh, okay. Sure. I’ll find you,” he said quietly.

“Sweet, thanks!” And with that, you skedaddled back to your lab.

Cleaning a Mountainous Mess: My tips, tricks, and thoughts on taking back your space.

As a busy college student in her senior year of undergrad I understand the struggle of attempting to keep a clean space.  At times it can seem like an insurmountable feat, but I promise it is not impossible.  When you live a busy life, it can be easy to put organization and cleanliness to the side, saying “I’ll take care of it tomorrow”, but in reality, we all know that dirty t-shirt we left laying on the floor or used coffee cup sitting on the counter will be there for several days (maybe even several weeks).  

 I know how a messy home can impact mental health.  I often find that when I hit my mental breaking point, my environment is also usually in a state of chaos.  I am here to share some of my tips that I have found helpful when finally deciding to attack that mountain of laundry, dirty dishes, and trash that may have piled up over the past busy weeks.

 1.  Take care of the trash first.

               When deciding to clean, it can be overwhelming knowing where exactly to start. In my opinion, the best place to start is with a trash bag.  Grab an empty bag and start at your entrance, slowly moving around collecting all items that can be thrown away and doing just that, adding them to the bag. Continue moving around your space, making your way from the front of the home to the back.  For now, ignore clothes that might be on the floor, dirty dishes, or items that might not be in the right place.  It is important to focus on one goal at a time so that you do not become overwhelmed.  The number one reason we let our spaces get so disorganized and messy in the first place is due to feeling overwhelmed, we want to try to avoid this feeling at all costs.

 2. Turn on some tunes or other motivation.

               Now that you have finished with your first task, you are in the cleaning mindset.  I find that once I get started, I feel motivated to keep going.  One of the things I enjoy doing to keep me in this headspace is turning on some type of motivation.  For me, that motivation is turning on a show like ‘The Home Edit’ or a “Clean with Me” type video on YouTube.  Now because I have these on doesn’t mean that I stop cleaning and just watch these videos, instead I use them as background noise and to feel like someone is cleaning with me.  This won’t work for all people though; some people might prefer music that pumps them up or an audio book or podcast instead.  Find what works for you!

 3.  Start the dishes.  

               The next grueling task we will probably be facing (if you are anything like me) is the pile of dishes overflowing out of the sink.  Having a dishwasher really helps cut the load in half, so if you have one load it and start it, but don’t stop there.  Whatever is left in the sink wash by hand.  Do NOT leave it and say “I will get to it when the dishwasher is done running” because (if you are like me) you will not come back to it.   Handwash your dishes, dry them, and put them away.  It is an annoying task, I agree, but when you are done you will feel so much better.  I also think the smell of dish soap is one of the best “clean” smells, it definitely helps keep me in the cleaning mindset.

 4. Collect the dirty clothes.

               Now you have finished collecting the garbage and cleaning the dishes, the last grueling task I tend to face is the carpet of laundry that collects on my bedroom floor and around my apartment.  Go around your space and put all of the dirty clothes into a specific space. This can be a hamper, a laundry basket, or even a designated pile in a corner (if your hamper/laundry basket is overflowing).  Once all of the dirty clothes have been collected in a space, sort your laundry into groups to be washed (delicates, whites, knits, jeans, etc.).  Once everything is separated, go ahead, and take a group of clothes to the wash, be sure to not have too many clothes at a time though or else they will not get cleaned properly causing you to have to rewash or redry items, causing this to take longer than needed.  As one group finishes in the wash, move it to the dryer and start the next group.  Keep this constant chain going until your laundry is done.  Make sure as things are leaving the drying, they are immediately getting folded or hung so that they do not stay in your laundry basket for days on end.

 5. The shovel method.

               Since laundry takes time, you will have some down time between cycles. Utilize this time to stay moving. This is the perfect time to begin organizing your items.  Now this is another task that often overwhelms people, usually because we don’t have much experience organizing our things.  Organizing between the laundry cycles allows us to work on our mess for 30–45-minute spurts and then we get a break from it when we have to move our laundry from washer to dryer; I think this helps to keep the process “bite-sized”. So, what is the shovel method?  I came up with this term when I was cleaning a particularly disorganized space.  No items had a true home, and it was very exhausting to even think about attacking.  I’m talking little to no available counter or floor space, so I attacked this the best way I knew how, at the beginning.  I started at the entrance, grabbing loose items and started creating piles.  I first had to start with a “miscellaneous pile” just to get a clear space.  Slowly, as more space opened up, I started making designated piles.  For example, if there are a lot of cosmetic items, then my first designated pile is a cosmetic pile, anything that doesn’t fit that category goes to the miscellaneous pile until more space opens up to create another designated pile.  I also do not return to the miscellaneous pile until the very, very end.  Once an item it in a pile it stays there. Eventually we will have what is often termed as an “organized mess”.  I will not lie, depending on the level of disorganization of your space, this can be a very time consuming and grueling task.  Just keep going and remind yourself that there is an end.  By starting at the entrance and slowing working your way through a space, I am reminded of snow-shoveling a driveway, hence the term “the shovel method”.  

 6.  Attacking the piles.

               Now you should have several categorized piles and it should make it easier for you to visualize where things should go.  Attack each pile individually, so if you have a cosmetic pile, begin with finding homes for those items.  Continue this process until all of the piles are gone, leaving miscellaneous for last. Remember, one pile at a time!  We want to avoid being overwhelmed as much as possible.

 7.  Sweeping.

               By now you are probably pretty close to organized and should have visible floor space.  Now is when you should begin sweeping or vacuuming.  If you are someone who likes to mop or use a Swiffer-type device, make sure you sweep with a broom or vacuum first!  You don’t want to just wipe crumbs and small pieces of trash around on your floor.  Now is also the time for you to wipe down counters.

 8. Reward yourself.

               It has taken a long time, but you are done.  You worked hard, but your disorganized mess should now be an organized, calm environment.  Take a seat, have a glass of wine (or whatever you enjoy), and take in your space. Use this time to sit and take in what you enjoy about your space.  If there is anything that is glaringly sticking out to you at this time, feel free to fix or change it.

 9. Keeping your space.

               I like to set rules for myself after I have cleaned my space.  When I am done with a dirty plate, I bring it to the kitchen, rinse it, and place it in the dishwasher.  Clothes go in the hamper, not on the floor.  Shoes go in the closet or on the shoe mat by my door. I worked hard to make a home for my items, I want to try to maintain that as long as possible.  I also designate 10 minutes every evening, before I go to bed, to take a look around my space and put things in their homes and to get rid of garbage.  One thing I find helpful is a cleaning binder.  I have a page for each room in my home, with a list of things to check. For example, my kitchen list has “empty the dishwasher”, wash dirty plates, wipe down counters; my living room list has “fold blankets”, “straighten couch pillows”, “take dirty dishes to kitchen”. I write these things down in a list format, place them in page protectors, and use a dry erase marker to check off the list every night.  In the morning I wipe the page protectors clean, and my binder is ready to go again!

 I hope you can use this as a guide for your own space, especially if you are feeling overwhelmed by the thought of cleaning and don’t know where to start.  It has taken me a long time to figure out what works for me, I understand how difficult and challenging this process can be.  With time, patience, and perseverance, your home can be a place of calm and warmth for you, I hope that you can use this as a guide to aid you in your cleaning journey!

So, funny you mention this.

In the more Sci-fi side of the AU’s in my brain I actually have the literal crackiest sci-fi AU, which is actually an actor AU. (like, it could work as a straight up space AU, but the way it happened in my head, it was as the actor AU) I know it’s not really related but I’mma tell you all anyway.

(Don’t worry, I won’t also drop the “bullshit science” Jiaoren concept... today...)

Liu Sang is the sound guy/general behind the scenes stuff idk, for a pretty popular star trek type show, which stars the Iron triangle in the main roles.

The show they play is basically Lost Tomb, but, you know, In Space. They go around finding lost colonies and civilizations and *ahem* preserving the antiquities as best as they can despite the cults and alarming amount of defunct tech that tries to kill Wu Xie’s character every time.

The show itself has a surprisingly heavy ad-lib script, (like, there’s a proper script, but the actors are allowed and encouraged to adjust the lines and stuff on the fly based on their understanding of their own characters) so set technicians hang out in ‘uniform’ in case they need to fix something on set, they can just ~blend~ with the background extras.

During one take of a bridge scene in which Wu Xie’s character (the captain of the space ship) is supposed to be doing a thing on the computer, he hits the wrong button because the programs used for the ship’s systems has been updated and Wu Xie didn’t read the memo and now the prop screen is beeping incessantly.

Sound/tech guy Liu Sang, who normally hangs out as a comm. tech extra (communication technician, like Uhura and Hoshi sato) during bridge scenes, slides over and turns off the annoying beeping, gives Wu Xie the bitchiest of faces, and says “and this is why we read about the system updates when the ship receives upgrades.” Then shows Wu Xie how to use the new user interface for the scene he’s supposed to be filming.

No one breaks character.

The cameras don’t stop rolling, and what should have been a blooper becomes the actual scene, and Liu Sang’s accidental cameo comm. tech becomes a surprise fan favourite.

So Liu Sang, despite not being an actor, keeps getting cameos, and then he winds up being actually involved in plot lines.

And then finally, his character (referred to only as “Jinx” because of Liu Sang’s on set nickname which Pangzi used during the first cameo) dies in an explosion saving the rest of the crew.

end of season.

the fans go livid.

Then they begin the conspiracies, or maybe the conspiracies had already started by then, because comm. tech Jinx wasn’t actually Liu Sang’s first cameo on the show.

He’d previously played space assassin Wang Can, a minor character during a cult arc, and he’d also played a hacker friend of a friend of Xiazi’s known only as Geist, since the character had a small scene but the actual actor had dropped out last minute and they didn’t have time for a recast for what was essentially a blurry profile shot in front of a computer.

All three characters had been played at different stages of Liu Sang’s hair journey, but speculation abounds on how the three might be related.

There are, of course those who think the trio are unrelated and just happened to be played by the same actor.

The cast and writers of the show listen to the fans and in the end it comes down to Liu Sang’s choice, since he was the one who’d asked to kill off Jinx because he’d failed to realise how much the audience loved his accidental character, and he’d wanted to go back to his normal job.

Liu Sang relents, and they come up with a way to bring him back. They listen to the fan theories, and craft their response, pulling on lore that they’d only skimmed in the show.

A few episodes into the next season, fans are outraged at the lack of mourning for Jinx, but there’s fans who pull apart a few strange turns of phrase from the main crew.

Then several episodes in, it happens.

The ship takes a detour to pick up the ‘new’ comm. tech to fill Jinx’s role.

*unknown planet - system (the one Wu Xie just had the ship set a course to)*

In front of a computer monitor, a familiar silhouette resolves into Geist, (aka, Liu Sang with the floppy black hair (from the time he fought a haunted paint can)) as a notice pops up on his screen:

J-1-NX : Restoration 100%

Geist wanders down through a series of hallways until he comes to a room in which is a large pod/tub like structure. Geist calls out “gege, are you awake now?”, and the top of the pod opens to reveal a pool of funky coloured liquid from which our regularly scheduled Liu Sang Jinx emerges.  wet and naked

Over the next few episodes Jinx’s backstory and connection to both Geist and Wang Can are revealed: They’re members of a clone army that were made for a war centuries ago, equipped with neural downloading so the folks in charge didn’t have to retrain a new replacement every time one was killed (think Cylons from the Galactica reboot) and so secret, hard earned information wasn’t lost. But most batches never saw the field because the war finished before they were needed, and they were put into long term storage.

And then they were forgotten.

And then a few systems malfunctioned and several (dozen?) clones were released from stasis.

Wang Can is back in perma-stasis after going crazy and joining a galactic death cult, but Jinx, Geist (G-31-ST) and several other clones (not all of the same physical model) are running around the galaxy.

J Series were espionage units, designed to have heightened hearing and linguistic comprehension.  1 is actually 001, first of his batch, NX, which were the first batch capable of doing what they were designed to do, with out suffering overstimulation/audio overload every ten minutes.

G series were designed to be good with computer programming. (hackers.)

Wang Can is from a front line series, one with a habit of going homicidal even without repeatedly dying.

Inside “The Pact”

Hello! For those of you that followed along with The Pact, I received a few questions and requests to get an inside look. I’ll link the post here that explains a bit more about what this is gonna be about. 

We’re gonna break this down into sections: first will be answering your questions about The Pact & the characters. Then I’ll show you guys a little about my notes & decision making process (which is very obscure because I just tend to keep a hypothetical tab open in my brain most of the time lol) as well as some pictures of my ideas!!

Q. What song did the boys dedicate to y/n?

A. “Her” || This is a sad song, but I felt like it fit so well with how the boys had to hide a part of themselves (their feelings) away for the sake of the pact!

Q. Did the boys get mad/how did the boys react to Jungkook’s kiss?

A. Jungkook was a little shocked, and felt extremely guilty on the drive back home. He wasn’t sure if he could stand to tell his hyungs, but he also knew he couldn’t lie to them. Naturally, the second he walked in the house and everyone saw his face, they knew. It was just quiet, everybody was a little hesitant to say anything/bring it up because they were all upset. Only Jimin has heard all of the details of JK’s kiss, whereas the others are simply aware that he kissed her and that’s that.

Namjoon was the most upset, although he didn’t say anything. He just sat there on the couch and did the jaw-clenching thing he always does. Yoongi just tried to change the subject and ask about other aspects of the date. Taehyung was actually pretty pissed, especially because he’d been so good about refraining from kissing you even when you’d asked for it. Hobi had a chat with him later that night and calmed him down. Jin wasn’t angry so much as he was worried that he missed his shot & couldn’t stop replaying his date in his head.

A. Namjoon. He’d had a little crush, and that’s why he was willing to go along with the pact. But it hit a point less than a year ago when he fell hard and fast. (you called him in the middle of the night when he was on tour and he realized that your sleepy voice is possibly the most beautiful thing he’s ever heard) The boys noticed and as a result teased him endlessly about it, because he doesn’t quite know how to navigate his feelings.

Q. Didn’t y/n ever date other guys? How did the boys react?

A. hahaha ok I actually would have such a fun time writing this Yes, she dated around a bit. For the first year of the pact, she had an on again, off again bf. It wasn’t very serious, and she always made that clear to the boys. They still hated the dude. After they broke up, she only went on a few dates here and there. Didn’t really seriously date. (except for that one time she went on vacation and had a fling, but everyone has decided to forget that) They just smiled and supported her, although Tae was always very clear that he didn’t like any of the guys she dated.

Q. In Namjoon’s date, who was the 1950′s author mentioned?

A. Agatha Christie, the queen.

Q. How did y/n meet Jimin? (he was the one that introduced her to the rest of the group)

A. She was a PR intern for Lee Hyun. Jimin and Lee Hyun are close, and they crossed paths fairly often until Jimin decided to invite her to hang out.

Q. What is y/n studying in school?

A. Public Relations (which will honestly come in handy with her new relationship lol)

Q. Where was Jin in the last chapter when y/n came to the studio?

A. Agh how could you ask me this and bring back all that pain?! Jin was at his brother’s restaurant for some much needed R&R. He ended up staying the night with him, not wanting to go home just yet and have to face his decision.

Q. Who would you personally choose to end up with and why?

A. KIM SEOKJIN. Date #5 was basically for me lol. Like, unapologetically wrote that for myself. Not just because he’s my bias, but because I personally felt like I could picture myself chilling on that couch watching Dateline with him. And it was beautiful. 🤧 Also, while Jin can be loud and goofy, he’s an introvert. I’m an extravert with introverted tendencies, so I just feel like his date would have been the most comfortable for me.

CREATING THE PACT - AN INSIDE LOOK AT MY NOTES

First thing’s first, I have an on-going page in my notes on my phone which is FILLED with ideas & half-formed thoughts. Before I began writing The Pact (or even Spooked, for that matter), this happened:

So you can see that I had no idea what I was doing lol, but I thought that it would be cool. Mainly I wanted an excuse to write OT7 and display all the members in a sweet light. Also, we see that not all of these actually made it into the series. (Tae w/ the family)

BUT THEN, “SPOOKED” HAPPENED, AND A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY POPPED UP 

ngl, I cracked up when I looked back at my notes and saw this. 

“Sweet Gloria what am I doing to myself” 😂😂 this was when I was pushing “Lost & Found” out and planning for Taehyung’s series (which is why so much is blocked out on my notes, because it’s riddled with spoilers lol) so I literally had no idea why I was jumping into another project as I was already super busy. That’s why I scheduled it for just Saturday’s! (and also why I sometimes posted super late at night lol)

As you can see, Seokjinnie’s date was literally always on my mind. From the very beginning. Which is odd, considering the fact that he didn’t end up being endgame. wow it’s like he’s my bias or something

Occasionally I’d take breaks from hw and work on getting to know how the boys were with y/n. Quotes and poetry serve as a great source of inspiration, and I assigned a quote to each member. (notice the little stars by Jin, Yoongi’s and JK’s names lol, they were my top three as I’m sure you’ve noticed by now)

There were a couple of things that I didn’t think of adding until I was reading through your theories and got an idea of what you needed to push the series in the right decision. i.e. bringing Gina back to explain that she closed the door in Spooked. 

I have a whiteboard in my room that I use to map out what I need to do that week for whatever series I’m working on (as well as jot down ideas for new series, which I why this photo doesn’t show the whole board haha) 

So here’s a peek at my thought process for writing about how the pact was formed. Sorry if you can’t read it haha

NOW, the last few questions you guys had:

Q. Did you ever change your mind while writing the pact?

A. Yes! I actually originally intended for Hobi to have written the note. It fit very well with how angry he was at first and how worried he was during the date. But by the time I'd gotten to Jin’s date I kinda knew that he wouldn’t be that petty but Jin would haha

I also planned on Yoongi kissing y/n on their date. It was supposed to be on a rooftop somewhere, which we know didn’t happen. In fact, I didn’t really intend for their date to be so disastrous until I was coming closer to having to write it. I think I was a mess, so the date was a mess lol

I had no idea what I was doing for Tae’s date until I wrote it, all I knew was that there had to be a museum. The rest I just made up as I wrote and hoped that it made sense. (also, for some reason I hated the museum portion of the date. Idk why, but it just felt so stark to me. still don’t like it lol)

Q. When did you know how it was going to end? 

A. That’s a....difficult question lol. Honestly, I thought of just doing an audio recording and uploading it because it I didn’t really know how to put it into words, but then I realized that most people probably wouldn’t wanna listen to that lol. So here we are. 

I had the ending scene in mind before The Pact even became a thing. I knew I had a series that I wanted to end with baking cookies. (weird, I know.) It didn’t exactly go how I planned, but I remember having the thought while writing Spooked (when I thought I was just writing a one shot) that it would be nice for y/n to be with Yoongi. I just instantly felt like they had a connection, when he was the first one she went toward. From then on out, I always kinda kept Yoongi in the background. 

I had a crisis about halfway through (right before Jin’s date) when there were a bunch of people rooting for Tae, because he hadn’t even been on my radar. But then Jin’s date went much better than I thought it was going to/received better, so I think that got me back on track. 

But from the beginning, Yoongi was #1. (I wrote this in the back of my Career’s notebook lol) when I was trying to figure out for myself who wrote the pact. 

So yeah! There you have it! Just an FYI, I had to physically restrain myself from throwing caution to the wind and making Jin endgame. Especially when so many of you were on board. :( However, the survey helped because Yoongi was the majority of votes (closely followed by Jin & JK) and that showed me that we were still on the right track! 

Ngl, my brain stopped working around Wednesday of last week, so writing the finale took FOREVER because nothing would compute. But I’m so happy you guys enjoyed it and reached out to me about it! This really is like a part-time job most days, and I really felt like this series paid off.
