half baked thought bc I’m actually chewing drywall abt this trailer rn but I’m really interested to see if and how bachelor route leans into film as the vessel for performance rather than theatre- I think it’s a fascinating narrative shift that really articulates the difference between the haruspex and bachelor routes. “any choice is right as long as it’s willed” really reflects the ever changing and in-the-moment presence of live theatre whereas with “there is only one truth,” the film has been made. the events have already come to pass. they are preserved in time ad infinitum. which also adds to the tragedy of daniil dankovsky i think :)) idk i just think its Neat and i am so so incredibly excited about this game cannot wait to see the sillies again :))

ah! i just mean the emphasis is usually on the wrong syllables, it sounds unnatural and almost forced? In Black Friday (and nightmare time) for instance, talking to Hannah, they pronounce it like "ha-NAH" and in NPMD he puts equal emphasis on each syllable in "Ste-pha-nie" in a way that sounds kind of off kilter. Especially after the comment about "holding court in your own form and tongue" it felt so much like someone or something trying to grasp a language that isn't familiar to it at all or seems trivial to it which makes sense for something eldritch and above it all. I love so many of the choices Jon made for how he played Wiggly/Wiggog!

i think about the “devoid of all worldly wants” line from patches’ speech in ringed city often… because he’s clearly not. in ds3 you can see how he genuinely wants to connect with greirat and keep him safe, but constantly shuts himself down whenever he says something that might portray that and even goes so far as to hide his identity when he does go to rescue him. he’s not fooling anyone, he’s the first to know when greirat’s gone and worries for him.

i believe patches is a very lonely character, there’s a million reasons as to why that might be the case, but he’s too proud to let anyone see it. he WANTS people to believe that line (or at least wanted to) he wants to believe that himself too, but he desperately wants that connection. i view ringed city as a sort of character arc for him because of this, saying that he’s “devoid of all worldly wants” after what happens to him in that dlc sounds like he’s poking fun at himself, as evidenced by his next line: “i don’t know, maybe it’s just the way we are.”

he acknowledges that he’s not much better in this regard. it feels like this lesson carries over to elden ring patches too, where he is much more outwardly caring and protective over some other npcs.

i think this speech can be interpreted in many ways but this line in particular sticks with me. “devoid of all worldly wants” yeah sure man.

so, that ask about an Ares with natural fangs and the mention of body modifications not sticking around long for gods has had me thinking, sorry if you already answered something similar to this, i tried to look but didnt find anything!

how does being trans work for Ares? specially in terms of surgery! i tend to play transmasc (and occasionally transfem) MCs whenever possible, so im just very curious how the whole divine powers thing can affect that? also, tattoos! and piercings!

So this isn't just for trans stuff, I'll also just explain the healing a bit more here too.

Since Riley is trans, they'll specifically talk about this if your Ares is trans too. But for gods, being trans is a lot more difficult in general. Surgeries are the only thing that humans can do that are permanent and even then if something is added to you in a surgery (any surgery like breast augmentation, tooth fillings, even more uncommon ones like horn implants) your body will naturally just get rid of it. Over the course of a few years your body just breaks it down and works it out in extremely small quantities. Sometimes this can be painful, sometimes you wont even notice until its gone.

That being said there are other gods who can assist with stuff like that. At this moment your Ares hasn't been alive long enough to really notice how quick their body heals and metabolizes things. At most they'd just notice that they'd need a higher dosage of hormones than normal humans would need.

As for tattoos and piercings and what not, piercings will heal fully within a few hours if you've had them a long time, or literally just a few minutes if you're brand new. and tattoos fade after a few months and fully disappear after a few years.

Losing a limb is also permanent. Teeth will grow back. but if your arm is cut off it stays off. And after your body has fully healed you could have more permanent chronic pains. Being a god isn't a "always come back to tip top shape" button. Though you're far more durable than normal humans.

You know how Mike's clothes were specifically made for him? So, i was thinking that, the arrow pocket, it would be point towards Will most of the time because Will is usually on Mike's left. But in the Van scene, they are sitting opposite ways. Basically, i was thinking that Blue and Yellow meet in the west, but from our point of view, Mike's arrow is pointing east, so they "don't meet", or more like, they didn't understand thr other's intentions.

WAIT I LOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCH. I’ve seen people talk about the triangle imagery in Mike’s wardrobe, but not in this way. And the whole thing about the arrow on his shirt pointing away from Will makes so much sense because even though Will is talking about himself, Mike thinks he’s talking about El so his thoughts are away from Will at that moment

Jason cannot be in a crowd, he's overwhelmed assessing everyone's threat level and minding his exit strategy, plus everyone is So Loud and there are Kids, he's keeping an iron control of himself not to listen to the intrusive thoughts about how he can turn the store into a blood bath, he needs to be Out and Fast

Cass is overwhelmed by choice, there are So Many things Everywhere, and while she can tune out people (and is very comfortable in a crowd) the Items are what's overwhelming, there are So many things and she needs to find what's the Best thing (although in practice she doesn't really care she will eat it nonetheless), there have been times where she's panicked a little and grabbed like ten cans of green beans and walked out, so making a list down to the brand is a Must

"Urgh. Definitely not." You'd never heard him make that noise before, a cruel sound of disgust from the back of his throat. You near giggled, kinda wheezed.

"You're that disgusted?" He twitches, brows furrowing for not even a second. You worry you've made him mad.

"I do not understand the endeavor to... have me 'shack up' with Chappell." You blink rapidly.

"No, no. A certain someone—er well, not a certain someone— well. Er. Someone said you needed 'some', okay. And I— they came to me? About it? And I think they wanted me to solve the problem?"

"I'm not that grumpy, am I?" Hemmer looks less disgusted, and less scary. Instead, his antenna hang lower and he's leaning, face incredulous.

"Well," you start. "You are pretty uptight." You give a helpless shrug, attempting to seem apologetic. He just blinks a few times with a slight roll of his head, showing his displeasure.

"Is there anyone you are interested in?" He immediately slumps, obviously upset with the continued questioning. "Do you even want to be in a relationship?"

Hemmer doesn't take long to think about it, just gives a little smile and a huff out his nose. "I definitely do not need to be set up. Especially with lower ranking officers."

You hum, palm under your chin. "Strict rules on that shit." You mutter in his direction.

"That 'shit' keeps quite a few people safe." You jump to attention, the words sharp but his tone steady.

"Didn't mean it like that, sorry."

He hums, "I wouldn't expect it of you, do not worry" He gives you a nod that is obviously an apology. You nod back.

Your conversation. On him being set up.

"So you don't need my help?" You reaffirm.

He nods, with a sigh a bit too sassy to mean anything other than "duh".

You laugh, short and breathy. He sighs again, but he's smiling.

"What about a relationship? Not purely sexual?"

Hammer makes a face. "What?"

"Would a... relationship. With me. Be okay?"

Hemmer doesn't hesitate. "Yes."

What is your most favorite aspect of the series and your least favorite? Why?

Shit I completely forgot to answer this ask LMAO. My favorite aspects of the books are honestly just the world building and how Brandon Mull introduces incredibly compelling ideas for his stories and characters. My least favorite part is how he doesn't fucking use them!!! He'll introduce the most interesting thing ever in the story and then be like. Oh yea lol. Thats never gonna come up again. ❤️❤️❤️ hope you dont mind.

He also has admitted that he doesn't reread his books and like. You can tell lol. He constantly contradicts his pre-established lore and some characters will just. Not act like themselves out of nowhere. Anyways I really love fablehaven even if it doesnt seem like it sometimes LMAO I just like talking about these things

Please tell me about batfamnatural (I came across it on one of your poll posts, idk if you’ve talked about it before but I want to hear it!!)

Ohohohoho. Well this one kind of has a few different interpretations/variations bc of the whole nature of the batfam vs spn so I consider batfamnatural to fit under one of these categories:

1. A fusion concept where both sets of characters exist in the same world & clash occasionally bc they occupy the same space in different dimensions (batfam acting as vigilantes for justice in a more standard & typical masked hero sense while Sam & Dean act as ones specifically for the supernatural). But these worlds probably would collide more than once so the idea of heroes vs hunters is interesting to me just from a world building and storytelling level. They’re probably way more similar than either side may think so the personality & value clash or lack thereof would be fun to explore

2. A swap concept where either the batfam exist as hunters or the winchesters exist as masked vigilantes. I think the former is more interesting than the latter bc putting Bruce Wayne in that space while still being Bruce Wayne would be an interesting exercise in the Batman story & his motivations for it all. But again, I think surprisingly little would change wrt to canon dynamics (depending on the canon you choose I suppose) and conflicts and ideologies bc both stories do address similar things, just with a different execution.

Generally though I think the batfam as a reading of DC Batman & co comics slots in nicely with spn in its focus on family/family is hell/family is war and you’ve been drafted as a child soldier as themes. There’s a lot of cross convos you can have with them wrt sibling relationships & the struggle of who has the right to judge jury and executioner of it all. I also think both have an unfortunate tendency to be sanitized/glossed over in fandom, although I can kind of understand it for batfam bc my god there is so much required reading and some of it contradicts itself bc it goes back so many years so.

oh great question! I think they would have continued on the "prodigal daughter" arc but a lot of it depends on if martin lived or not. if he lived I could imagine her feeling some resentment towards malcolm for killing him, because she feels that she wanted to spend more time with him (not that she doesn't understand malcolm was acting in self defense, but I think she'd still feel conflicted because she lost her father). if martin lived I think they'd continue her seeking out his advice and maybe go the path of ainsley turning into a serial killer herself? tbh I wouldn't WANT that plotline but based on the direction the show was going I feel that is the most logical conclusion. hmmm what do you think? I just wish we got a season 3 I miss the everyone on the show :(
