If you don't mind answering and it's not going into spoiler territory, how different is Harper's route as ex-friend vs ex-lover?

This is such a wonderful IF, your writing is dare I say, chefs kiss! Keep up the good work! <3

Its kinda tough to say. I feel like other than the obvious they do kind of still feel very similar. Its been 5 years since you last saw them.

Generally Harper would interact about the same. No matter what Ares/Harper were close, they were the only friend who not only gave Ares a chance, but actively chose them time and time again, despite being able to get friends who were more chill. Harper always had a crush on you, even if you don't romance them/if they were friends in the past. That can't be helped, sorry.

So interactions in the past don't change a hell of a lot, other than some obvious flirting/kissing in the past if you were with them. (we'll get more into it in the chapter, there's a choice to have never kissed/had sex with Harper even if you dated them. Which is easy to code since I'm already doing the just friends route, I doubt I'd have to write anything extra for it really, just change a variable.)

As for interactions in the present/future, I do have some things, especially if the Ares you play is a jealous one. But its been 5 years. What they did is something that would affect a friend-Ares, dating-Ares, or situationship-Ares. Mostly when Ares reconnects with them its not going to be an easy process no matter what route you went. I'm trying hard to avoid spoilers lol, so sorry if its not a good explanation.

A figure steps into your view, looming over you and staring down at you. Watching as your life leaves you. You can’t make out many details, on account of your rapidly leaving life. Their skin is pale, practically paper white, and is framed by inky black waves of hair that spills down and over their shoulders. It looks a bit matted and damp, strands sticking to their forehead either from sweat or blood. Standing out against their skin is the crimson smear across the bottom half of their face, staining their pale skin red and dripping down their neck and clothes. A grin sits amongst the red full of teeth stained in much the same way as it stretches across their face. What little bit of light there is, catches the glint of four long canines that stand out menacingly as if they crave to be used. It seems like they already have been. You know this person. You know her. She is your end.

Wraithbound is an weird west interactive fiction game, where you play as a person who has lost most, if not all, of their memories after some kind accident that left you half dead.

After waking up in the middle of the woods, you're found by two people and taken to the town of San Arima to tend to your wounds. While you're there, you slowly begin to piece together who you were and what happened to you.

The Doctor

Edward/Edith Hayes (m/f) is one of the two that found you in the woods when you first awoke. E is optimistic, kind-hearted, and a bit timid. They strive to see the best in people and help who they can, even if it causes them to ignore the signs of danger around them.

The Witch

Sloan Ash (m/f/x) is the other of the two that found you in the woods when you first woke up. Sloan puts on an air of confidence, sarcasm, with a touch flirtation. A person who doesn't seem keen to stay in one place, yet seems to stay anyway.

The Deputy

Azael/Azura Herrera (m/f) is the deputy to the sheriff of San Arima, a man they were once proud to serve under. However the past couple years the sheriff has changed. Suspicious dealings and odd orders, something is going on that they are being kept out of and they will figure out what.

The Conman

Leonard/Lilith (m/f) is a relatively new addition to the town of San Arima. L is person who claims to be an "entrepreneur" who always ends up on the winning end of any endeavor they take, less so those they work with. They've said that this town is ripe with opportunity, for what isn't exactly clear.

The Widow

Morgan Faulkner (m/f/x) is a magus-hunter, a type of bounty hunter that specializes in dealings with the supernatural. Roughly 3 years ago, they lost their partner and spouse with no word or warning. Now Morgan has found their way to San Arima and they seem to want you dead, claiming you're just a monster wearing the face of the one they love.

If Ares wanted someone to come with them to volunteer at a animal shelter, who would be down? Is anyone like animals equals gross? Who is already volunteering?

Nobody is already volunteering (kinda)

Riley: Would not go, their schedule is far too busy. If Ares insisted then they'd make time but it'd be a one time thing. More likely they'd just donate a lot of (stolen) stuff so the staff can allocate resources elsewhere. If its important to Ares, then they'd make it a habit of doing this, maybe once a week with a handful of different shelters.

Franco: It would be something to do. He'd go for that reason alone, he's a bit uncomfortable around animals. Bitter memories. So he'd go and do his job, not complain, but if your Ares was attune to his emotions and just generally knew him, they'd be able to realize he just wasn't vibing with it. So he'd keep going if asked, but only if asked. Honestly he'd probably be the best volunteer as he'd do his job quick, efficient, and be unafraid of getting his hands dirty.

Sigourney: She'd go for the activism of it, but would not enjoy it in the least. I think she's too stressed already and there's a solid 75% chance she'd get home after and have a panic attack about the animals, and would probably end up adopting a low-maintenance animal like a cat (If Ares/Sig didn't volunteer at a kill shelter, she would adopt from one to save an animal from dying.) Only to do a lot of research post-getting the cat, and realize that they kind of need a buddy, and end up getting two. And then drop off automatic feeders/litter box cleaners. She would NOT adopt a kitten as she would have an even worse panic attack about not being a good enough cat-mom.

Dame: Depends on the shelter. They'd love going to like a cat shelter, but they wouldn't help, just going around petting cats, and then laying on the floor next to the ones who don't want to be pet. Parallel playing with them, essentially. They wouldn't like a dog shelter.

Rebel: This is the (Kinda) from the top. They don't volunteer, but they'd be down to try. They already take in animals who don't have a home and aren't doing good on the street. (Like if they see a feral dog who's eating well they'll leave it alone, but one obviously starving they'd take in) So they'd be the one who enjoys it the most. That being said they'd either adopt/steal their favorite, so don't take them too often.

Harper: Would insist on not going, would pull out every excuse in the book. It's a lot of work and they've never had a pet before, Animals feel a bit unsanitary to them, plus it'd be a workout. If Ares somehow convinced them then they'd only really do the least dirty jobs. (Feeding the animals, playing with them if the shelter does that, stuff like that. They wouldn't clean up... waste, or bathe them.) At the end they'd feel fulfilled and would promise to do it again, only for the cycle to repeat from the start.

Time does not wait for anyone, even for the one that controls it.

After the bloody aftermath of Draeken's rebellion against Delphora, you're left an orphan. Your mother lies dead beneath a pile of bodies, crushed under the boots of the Time Watchers, and your older brother, Mylo, is nowhere to be found. Bruised and scared, you're taken in by Marek, your mother's friend, together with a few other strays he managed to catch hiding in the shadows of the night.

As Marek tends to your wounds and wipes away your tears, the Council of the Eternals, forever holed up in their lavish upper city, is falling apart. They are in complete mayhem and disarray as, unbeknownst to you, one of the five time shards that keep the heart of the city, the Clocktower, working in tune with time's balance has been stolen.

Oddly enough, that lost shard looks suspiciously similar to the strange shiny stone your mother gave you and your brother right before the doomed uprising. With it gone, the flow of time grows slippery and erratic, as the Clocktower starts to decay without its missing piece.

Life in the undercity of Draeken, also known as The Depths, is brutal enough. But when an ill-fated encounter leaves you forever altered, with your blood itself changed, you’ll soon realize that time is strange, and the thin fabric of reality a fickle thing. Even more so when it’s something you can no longer just witness ... but may be forced to control.

This book is for mature audience only (18+). It's currently still in early development and everything released is subject to possible change. The book will contain mature themes like slavery, abuse of any kind, sexual content (mostly optional), death of people and animals (the latter for food and sacrificial purposes), diseases, suicidal ideations, homophobia, transphobia, body dysmorphia, possible self mutilation, swearing, attempted non consensual intercourse (this is not a definitive list of triggers!).

There will be trigger warnings at the beginning of each chapter.

This is a work of fiction. Wherever possible and plausible, I incorporate information that is available about how Germanic tribes lived, how Germanic slaves were treated, what life in a Roman city looked like etc.

However, especially about the Germanic tribes, and about the timeframe I chose, there is only very little information. They did have runes but only used them for ritualistic purposes, never to write anything down; they had no written languages. Because of that, actual legitimate information is extremely scarce, and the information that we have is mostly written from an "enemy" point of view - the Romans.

I might somewhat substitute with things we know about the vikings, which technically also were Germanic tribes, but they lived quite some hundred years after the timespan I aim for the main story of this IF to be set in (which is essentially shortly after/around 14 CE).

Other choices and possible changes of actual facts/information about the historical times and people are made for flavour and for the readers' comfort.

Because some people don't seem to understand:

I am not a historian. I am merely one person researching and writing this as a hobby. It will not be 100% historically accurate. It is still a work of fiction and I take creative liberties.

Movies with massive budgets and several research assistants have historical inaccuracies in them. Please let me also have some.

After a skirmish close to the Roman border, you are captured and transported to a city. Your capturer forces you into slavery and sells you off to a patrician family — wealthy Romans, in social and political standings only underneath the Emperor.

Desperately you try to adapt to these new circumstances — you don't even speak their language, know nothing about their culture... It's a whole different world for you. At first, you struggle to even communicate with the people that call themselves your "familia". Will you manage to live amongst them, or will you refuse to obey the rules and orders you are unfamiliar with?

Also, this is my first IF and I haven't written anything major really for the past 10 years — so I might be somewhat rusty in some parts and completely new to other parts (namely, ChoiceScript). You'd even accept having lost - as painful as it would have been - because while your team is good, great even, going against a team that is better is exhilarating.

Instead, all you hear are the screams of your teammates as they extract themselves from the plane.

Lost Rabbits is a paranormal thriller based on Yellowjackets. Like in Yellowjackets, you play as a young teen on the cusp of greatness. That is, until it all goes wrong. Your plane crashes in the middle of nowhere and you will have to rely on the team you were meant to become champions with. Can you survive? While this game is inspired by Yellowjackets, it is not a direct copy and you will not find the same characters from the show in this game.

❥ Play as a gender-locked female MC. Choose your unique relationship with your femininity and sexuality.

❥ Make friends with your teammates or don't! Make them hate you, despise you - just remember your actions have consequences.

❥ Engage in cannibalistic acts. Do you feel guilt for eating your friends? Or is meat just meat?

❥ Daphne Calloway (f) - Winger

Captain of your team, though no one is really sure why. Daphne is friendly and talented, sure, but she doesn't have the magnetism Lola has. She doesn't have the talent Claire has. You can't help but wonder why your coach choose her.

❥ Lola Aguilar (f) - Midfielder

It's hard not to love Lola, which can be equal parts infuriating and comforting. Kind and popular, Lola has been your friend since you were in kindergarten, but you can't help but notice the distance she is putting between you and herself.

❥ Claire Rasmussen (f/m) - Striker

Claire is a mystery. Quiet in school, only speaking when necessary in practice. Claire is a new addition and is distrusted by the other players for both their skill and her unwillingness to metaphorically play ball.

❥ Ella Prescott (f) - Defender

Ella is on her way out of this dead end town and soccer is her ticket. A full ride to an Ivy in her back pocket and fielding offers from others - someday, all of this will be a footnote in the memoir based on her life.

❥ Julia Kerrigan (f) - Winger

Julia is a force of nature unto herself. She's one of the fastest members of your team, but spends most of her time on the bench due to her controlling parents making a stink with the school.

❥ Madeline Eddison (f) - Midfielder

Rich as fuck and not afraid to spend Daddy's money, Madeline is a wild child. With little supervision to curb them and a credit card, all Madeline has to do to stay in their parents good graces is to be a sports star.

❥ Florence Niemec (f) - Equipment Manger

Florence is a member of the team in the loosest sense, not a winner or even a contender. Since she moved here, Florence has been a loner - though, not for lack of trying on her part.

❥ Christian Sallinger (m) - Coach's Son

Christian is not quite an all American boy - he is on the baseball team with a wicked swing and a handsome face. You remember the Christian from your childhood, though, the one who would burn ants with a magnified glass and whose eyes you would avoid.

❥ Andrew 'Drew' Sallinger (m) - Coach's Son

Ever since his parents split, Andrew has been acting out - at least that's what people say. You don't know him, don't talk to him, but you share a single class - history.

This will be book one out of a two book series. Not all characters will survive and there will be more ROs in book two.

oh the alphabets can be a lot of fun to learn about characters! Would you ever fancy writing any for the fluff alphabet version? Completely no pressure only curiosity

I'd be interested, but I ripped the alphabet I'm using from another IF. So someone would need to send me the letters for the fluff. I do them in my spare time or when I'm really stuck, so it'd be slow to get them all filled out, but it sounds fun!

The Woods Hungers is a fantasy interactive fiction WIP about knights, witch-hunts, and meeting (and maybe even romancing) cryptids in the woods.

Warnings: The Woods Hungers is currently 16+ and will have depictions of violence, gore, and strong language. Note that the game will have skippable suggestive content, but nothing explicit.

The Woods Hungers.. and yet you have no choice but to venture in.

You were a bastard child of a noble house who has clawed your way up the ranks in the Knight’s Order. You had earned your place with your own strength and merits, yet things went sideways when the prince you were supposed to protect was cursed. The Order had blamed you.​

The Kingdom of Resvenia had always outlawed magic. But now, the witch-hunts was more brutal than ever, and the knights were after you. The only way for you to clear your name, and save the prince you had sworn yourself to, would be by using magic itself…​

The Woods and its inhabitants held the answer to your problems. If you made a contract with one of them and had them lift the curse for you, you could clear your name and save your prince.

However… if you ventured in and asked for their help, would they readily help you, or would you simply become their next midnight snack?

Features in the game includes:

Customizable MC - including lineage, appearances, pronouns, motivation, views & outlook, and personality.

Play as an illegitimate child of one of the four Noble Houses, each with their own perks, bonuses, and special skills.

Interact (or romance, optionally) with unique characters that will remember the choices you’ve made along your journey.

Upgrade speech and combat skills along with skill checks that influences the story.

Codex and entries that update as the story progresses, including characters’ (and yours) backstory entries.

6 main casts to romance and interact with.

1. The Knight - Viel Cartier [He/him]

The other knight who took the blame along with you. For all he knew, you were the one who caused all this mess. Would the two of you be able to put aside your differences and trust each other?

2. The ??? - Nora [She/they]

A Being you had encountered on your search to clear your name. They were more interested in toying with you than in helping you. What exactly was she, and how long would it take for her to run out of interest and discard you?

3. The Banshee - Ylfa [She/her]

A banshee wailed and hailed the death of humans, but she was tired of it. She just wanted to sing, drink her fill, then rob people of their clothes in a high-stakes gamble. You were a source of inspiration for her songs, and had insisted on tagging along… who were you to say no to her? To a banshee?

4. The Fae -  Aen’frie [They/them]

Some faes were too dumb to trick humans for their names. Aen’frie was one of them, and they had been exiled indefinitely. Even if they had wanted to help… could this gullible fae even help you with your problem? Or was this all just an act? A ploy to toy with you?

5. The Witch Hunter - ‘The Cook’ [He/They]

Your estranged childhood friend, whom you scraped by with in the streets, was now hunting you down. If they had to choose between a hefty sum of gold that could let them retire young once and for all, or their estranged childhood friend… which one would be their choice?

6. The Cursed Prince -  Caine Augustin [He/him]

He had his rug pulled out from under him, yet he was the only one who believed in your innocence. You could only trust each other, but was the prince really blameless, or did he also play a part in sowing the chaos that had run rampant throughout the kingdom?

Chapter 4 Update

​Here is the Chapter 4 update. I added a new variable in Chapter 1, so you might need to restart before playing Chapter 4. I also attempted to do some bug fixing in Chapter 3.  Please, please, please let me know if there are any issues and where they show up. Hope you enjoy playing.
