#fuecoco#i gotta say i didn't really care for this thing at first. it was one of my least favorite starters right next to grookey when it was first#revealed. and normally i'm a big fan of fire starters. but this guy didn't do it for me#and this design still doesn't‚ but i do appreciate skeledirge. it's very cool‚ i love the fire hat and the día de los muertos design#it really feels like tpc have been going all out on making pokémon that Fit The Region since gen 8#which is pretty cool. i like it. and i definitely think paldea has some very fun vibes. but i dunno if i'd say it's one of my favorite#regions pokémon-wise or layout-wise. it was their first shot at open world‚ and i think it shows#the older regions with more limitations definitely shone more because they worked better in those limitations#paldea just feels like a big open empty sandbox at times. which is fun to explore‚ but doesn't feel too civilized compared to something#like… unova. where there's a city on every fuckin route corner and they're all so full of life and personality#like i could not remember any of the paldea town themes for the life of me. i can remember their names for the most part#but that's basically just because the facilities that get used a lot are spread out between them. for example: i remember medali#specifically because it's where i go to change a pokémon's tera type. i remember mesagoza because it's the main hub city#i remember levincia because of the posters. i remember montenevera because i think the hyper training guy is there#but not because like. i remember driftveil because YAAAAAAAAAAAAA#y'know. even galar had a better region design than paldea#that's not to say i think paldea is BAD. like i'm not a scarlet/violet hater like every other pokémon “fan” on the internet#i've put like 200+ hours into that fuckin game. i still LIKE it. but my heart still holds a soft spot for kalos and the like

Role swap! What would Leon and Guzma be like if it was Guzma as a champion and Leon leading the band of misfit grunts? And would you still have Plumeria be close with Guzma (perhaps also part of the league in a role close to the champion) or would she now be Leon's bestie and help look after the grunts?
Ooh, that's an interesting one. I could see this going in a couple of directions...
So alternate universe where Guzma's dad isn't a piece of shit, and raised his son with love and encouragement, maybe he actually became a trial captain and eventually a Kahuna. He still has a pretty boisterous and snarky personality but uses it to endear people to him rather than as a front to mask his insecurities.
Leon, on the other hand, maybe was unable to compete in the pokemon league, or simply was never able to beat the champion. Discouraged, he left home, believing his mother would have an easier time providing for one child instead of two.
He wandered far and wide... not really intentially, he just kept getting lost, casually battling to earn just enough money to feed himself and his pokemon. He spent time in Kanto, Johto, and even Kalos. While in Johto he discovered he was rather good at counting cards, allowing him to easily make some extra cash.
He eventually made his way to Unova, where he found he had the most difficult time surviving. After getting mugged and assaulted one too many times, he makes his way to Alola.
He always wanted to go to Alola since he knew they didn't have a pokemon league- seeing all the gyms and challengers depresses him, regardless of region.
I imagine, once in Alola, his situation became similar to Guzma's in that he joined an existing gang in order to survive and then worked his way up and broke off because he didn't like how things were run and didn't want to be pushed around anymore. And if that's the case, then I guess it would make sense for Plumeria to more or less stay in the same situation (which eventually leads to being Leon's right hand).
Leon is a very different Boss than Guzma in that he is extremely reserved, even to Plumeria, and rarely speaks, choosing to let his pokemon "speak" for him with their sheer power. (This is also at least partially due to the fact that he never underwent speech coaching and thus has a tremendously difficult time talking without his heavy south galarian dialect. He'd rather avoid conflict and prevent himself from being othered whenever possible). If he must speak, he will usually whisper to Plumeria and have her relay the information.
He does have a soft spot for the younger grunts, as they remind him of his brother, and will protect them fiercely. He's grown extremely powerful in his travels, and would be more than capable of becoming the Galar Champion, but that dream has long been forgotten. However, anyone who messes with his kids will feel the full power of him and his team. He has a reputation of being a merciless and cutthroat battler among the island inhabitants as a result.
He was livid when he found out they were beginning construction on a pokemon league in the region and, subsequently, the Team became more active and destructive.
Guzma, being the Kahuna, attempts to open communications about this with Leon, who is far less than receptive.
It's rather irritating considering Guzma is usually so good at winning people over and it eventually becomes a personal challenge for him.
Over time, he figures out the one thing that won't give him a dead stare and cold silence as a response: flirting. The first time he tried it, it caught Leon so off guard he completely dropped his mask and blinked wide golden eyes at the Kahuna and sputtered something barely intelligible. He, eventually, realized what happened and quickly stormed off in an embarrassed huff.
Guzma himself was shocked... shocked by just how cute that stubborn haole could be...
And I'll leave it at that 😁
#ask zz c#what with the hcs and such#guzma#pokemon leon#role swap au#thank you anon i was very very bored and this one was a real thinker!#leon be like not all that wander are lost but boy i sure am and in more ways than one#for narrative purposes it would make sense if Guzma was Ula ula's kahuna and then maybe nanu could be Poni island's kahuna#like for real how old is hapu? thays a lot of responsibility to drop on a kid#or maybe looker didnt fuck shit up amd let a monstrocity eat their partner so nanu never left interpol...idk many possibilities

Alright Tumblr!
Time to meet some OCs!
These two in particular hold a very special, very close place in my heart! I'm gonna make this a sort of "ask the oc(s) anything" post, interaction is encouraged!
Trypo and Tueri Harrows, of Coumarine, Kalos.
Below the cut is oc lore and more art!
I'm saying this now, their story is a sad one, but I find it intriguing! They've become something of comfort characters for me, especially in the way their dynamic works. Trypo (the trainer) was born into a noble house in Kalos! Tueri (the abnormally tall Bisharp) was assigned to protect her when she was born. He was originally her mother's guardian! Now he's at Trypo's side.
Being bigger than most of his kinds makes him quite intimidating, though to his lass, he's got quite the soft spot. He has several ways of showing affection to his partner and teammates, some physical, some otherwise. Physical means towards Trypo ranges from carrying her, resting his chin atop her head, pulling her against his torso to loom over and guard her more closely, letting her cling to his arm, and even sorting through her hair to pick out debris (usually after a battle or in the morning, or situations where her hair gets messed up.) It's his own means of like- returning the favour of grooming, since Trypo will sharpen his blades for him and keep his metal polished and in good condition!
Did we mention Tueri communicates via Telepathy?
I headcanon that certain types are susceptible to using telepathy! Psychic (obviously-) ghost, and dark are those types, especially for more humanoid mons, or mons based heavily on pretty sentient yokai or entities (like Zoroark being based on the shapeshifting aspect of Kitsune!) Anyway that hc is for a different ramble a different day-
Tueri uses telepathy to communicate to others! He can also read and write, thanks to Trypo's father teaching him how to do so before Trypo was even a thought in that man's mind.
Speaking of her father.
Lumin Harrows.
Is the entire reason Trypo and Tueri are on the run in the first place. Lumin decided, after Tueri failed once (1 singular time) to guard the girl from a preventable situation, that he had to be. . . Disposed of, for something better.
Trypo didn't want to let Tueri go, much less know he'd get killed for one failure that was very much her fault to begin with. So, what did she do to prevent his death?
She took Tueri, took the shield (an heirloom that she shouldn't have had until 20,) gave the shield to Tueri, snagged some cash, and fled Kalos, hitting Unovan soil first, where their whole runaway story begins.
Lumin starts giving chase when he realizes they fled Kalos, and it leads to a multi-region chase across the world, with Lumin under the mindset he's saving his daughter from a silver-tongued, manipulating monster, and Trypo on the run for her partner's life.
Lemme hit you with another fun bit of trivia that Lumin isn't aware of, and that the Harrows Shield here is slightly aware of but doesn't understand.
They're soul-linked.
(This is a mechanic from conquest that I put my own spin on to add to these two!)
If one goes down, they both do.
Now, suddenly running for his life, is running for hers too, no?
Tueri protecting her so vigorously, so acutely, is also guarding his own life, no?
Of the two, their personalities are a good mix of opposing forces, that balance and check each other. Trypo is meek, shy, riddled with anxieties thanks to her father hunting them down, and rather antisocial because of it. She's fearful, to the point it would consume her if it weren't for Tueri. Tueri is bold, unshaken, he's adamant and brave. He's level, where she's chaotic. He's cold and calculated in battle, even seeming cold to others outside of battle, save those he'd consider a friend. His steel-cold exterior is balanced by her open compassion, by an unwavering heart trying to keep all sides held together. She leads the team by tactic and heart, where he leads via tactic and example. He's the force to her words. The calm to her storm, she's the caution to his "I have to act" sort of attitude.
Trivia time!
》It took them several years to get a tent. Before then, they'd sleep up in trees, in pokémon centers, back alleys, or on a very rare occasion, even take refuge by the kindness of someone taking them in for a night. Now that they have a tent, they almost exclusively sleep in that or in pokémon centers.
》Teammates are as follows, caught in this order!
Anima ♀️(Gardevoir, megastone holder!)
-Mina ♀️💫 (Gained from another trainer as a Vaporeon, shiny!)
-Aeternus ♀️(Mudsdale- she carries all the cargo on the saddle, such as camping equipment and medical supplies)
-Iroha ♂️(Noivern)
-Relle ♂️(Ceruledge)
》Tueri holds Trypo between his blades when they sleep! Due to selective breeding, his physical traits were altered a bit as a result, one such being a wider gap between the blades on his torso. He pulls Trypo in and kinda wraps himself and his cloak around her when they rest, guarding her even in their sleep. If she stirs for whatever reason, he will start to make a sound akin to metallic purring to calm her down and lull her back to a quiet sleep.
》Trypo's left leg still has lasting effects from the initial injury, due to. . . Unknown reasons.
》"My Little Versailles" is Tueri's little nickname for Trypo when other people aren't around and their situation is calm + stress free for a spell.
》Trypo refers to Tueri as her partner, her knight, her other half, and her crimson sentinel.
》Tueri is an absolute sucker for spicy food ong. Give him ghost peppers and he will eat that shit like candy. Trypo cannot tolerate the same level of heat he can, but she also enjoys spicy foods!
》The Harrows Shield is a name/title for the both of them combined, as opposed to a title specifically for the trainer or for the pokémon.
》They eat off the same plate! Tueri will take food from it first, especially if it's food from someone else. His steel typing means he's immune to poison, thus can safely tell if something would be toxic for his person to eat or not. Even when they eat, she seems to be guarded by him in every way.
》Tueri has articulated hands! Also a trait thanks to selective breeding.
》Don't let his sharp expression and scary looks fool you. Tueri is so very soft with friends and his teammates. . . You'd almost think you're looking at two different entities if you saw him around a stranger vs a friend.
》Tueri is never inside of his pokéball unless unconscious from battle. He absolutely hates being inside it, and will not willingly go in. He has broken a pokéball in the past by forcibly busting out of it despite the lock in place, which resulted in Trypo getting a dusk ball for him as a replacement capsule.
》Tueri thinks the dusk ball is a lot more comforting than the luxury ball he used to be in. He claims the luxury ball felt "cold and unforgiving." He still hates being in the dusk ball, but it doesn't make him feel out of place.
》Trypo likes to make little grass and flower crowns if they have down time whole camping. Tueri has been subjected to many crownings of forest floor foliage.
》Don't tell the world he actually cherishes that deep down in his soul.
》Thanks to their soul-link, emotions bleed to one another a bit! Trypo's rage can make Tueri on edge and itching for battle, or Tueri's calm in a situation can subconsciously ease her anxieties into a state of calm as well. Seeing her cry breaks his heart. If emotions are polar opposites, it can actually cause some strain and make it feel like their hearts are hurting!
》Despite everything, they could not ask for a better partner, a better friend, a better combination. They're each other's world. </3
》I actually view these two as my comfort characters because of the softer moments in their dynamic. Their story is filled with turmoil and hardships, but when they get time to rest, and rest easy, it just feels particularly special. They earned good rest, they savor it so genuinely when they can lay in a sleeping bag and not have to worry about the world outside the tent. Rain is usually melancholy, but to them, it's safety, and it's calm. Even the thunderstorms feel safe compared to what they run from. I think maybe it's because Trypo characterizes a turmoil-filled era of my life, and Tueri is like. . . The anchor I wish I had in that time. He is the calm to the storm. The reason the boat doesn't drift so far out to sea. But I think it's also because while he so openly and blatantly guards and defends his lady, she's also trying to protect him in less visible ways. She chose to run away with him to save his life. She keeps his blades sharp so in battle he never has to worry about his blades chipping or a dull strike deciding a match. She's soft with him to keep his mind steady, to ensure he stays okay in the mind and heart despite all that follows them. They protect each other in their own ways, and both sides are equally as appreciative and aware of the other's side of it. They're precious to one another. So very, sincerely, dearly precious. They're not perfect- but they take the flaws in each other openly, and in stride. "This is my crimson knight, who will never openly speak of any weakness he has- but I know his weakness, and I know his fears, and I walk beside him anyways." "This is my lady, and though her fears paralyze her and make it seem impossible to step forward, I hold a hand out so I can lead her through the fear, and walk together." I just. I love their dynamic. I love them a lot.
》I might end up doing a comic series for these two and their team??? Start from the beginning and work from there? Or do comic strips of different situations They're in with no real timeline? Debating this tbh.
》Trypo is still very afraid of Relle considering he's the newest member + there's a bit of a language barrier + Relle is. . . Aggressive as fuck and it scares her
》Tueri and Relle had MAD BEEF for awhile I won't lie. Big brawling hours for a hot minute. Relle now understands why Tueri is in charge. Poor boy is still trying to figure out why Trypo is somehow in charge of Tueri. She never acts like it.
》Tueri is not afraid to fight dirty in actual threatening scenarios. He will pull every nasty trick in every book just to ensure victory in the wilds, ensure that team eats, lives another day, what have you.
》Tueri will not discriminate, those hands are rated E for Everyone.
Once again, this is functioning as a "hey look at my ocs!" A mini art dump and also a "ask the ocs anything" sort of post. Interaction encouraged, give me reasons to draw these two more I beg---
If you read through all of that ily

Mmmm I’m having the big thoughts about the Pokémon stuff again
But not just Saffron, Rai, and Rosa this time, not at all. Now it’s about the extended universe and I’m having far too much fun. So I’m about to make it everyone’s problem.
First off, been doing some name stuff. I had characters before, but I realized it’d be much more fun to give them names that align with the region they’re from, kinda how I did it for Rai and Rosa (Saffron is kinda weird cause I actually went with something that fit with Kieran and Carmine)
One thing I’ve always done with my characters is name them after some kind of plant, typically a flower. For example: the first Kanto character I had was named Daisy, the Hoenn character was Jasmine, the Sinnoh character was Cherry, Kalos was Oakley, Alola was Primrose, Galar had Lotus, Lily (which I did solely for the purpose of making jokes about the character Lillie), and Fern, and for a while my Paldea characters were Rose and River (who was the singular exception to my naming conventions)
I can’t just change that convention, but I can change the language in which the name is in. So I’ve got several pages in my notes app that are literally just my names and appearances for my characters now.
Heads up, mass amounts of screenshots-
Yeah this first one has Kanto and Sinnoh/Hisui in it. Also I am aware some of these names may not really mean what I put down, but we’ll cross that bridge later.
This has the Hoenn protagonists (which with probably match just a little closer to ORAS because that’s the one I’ve actually played)
This has the Unova protagonists, both Black/White and Black 2/White 2 (which I will have to watch play throughs of as I am yet to be able to get these games)
The Kalos protagonists, who I’m realizing I have a soft spot for because they have a fun story
Alola protags part one and two, where you will notice Rai is the ONLY character so far to not fit in the naming conventions at all.
Galar protags one, two and, three, who are also the true start to all of this as they were the first ones to get a full blown story that wasn’t just the plot of the games
And then Paldea + Kitakami.
Literally Rai is the only one to not follow the name conventions.
Don’t mind my several notes to self, I am going to be drawing all of these guys and I want to be as accurate as possible. Also just because they’re listed as either male or female protagonist doesn’t necessarily mean they align to that gender. Saffron’s listed as the male protag and she’s bigender, so it really could be anything.
There’s probably gonna be some wheel spinning involved, because I’m generally indecisive and want to see what happens- Rai, Rosa, and Saffron will all probably stay the same tbh-
And with that I go to actually design them and or redesign some of the others. Namely Rai because I want to draw a better front facing view of him.

Watched the new pokemon direct and I'm excited!
Kalos has always had a soft spot in my heart. Because it was first to introduce mega evolution and it's my favorite mechanic. That and it was one of the first pokemon games I completed. I still remember my team from when I was a kid:
Chestnaught
Charizard (with the X mega stone)
Talonflame
Tyrantrum
Xerneas
Helioptile (I didn't know how to evolve it at the time)
I might replay X or at least shiny hunt in why just to remind myself of Kalos. I won't use the exact same team, but I'll have most of them. Or maybe I'll do a challenge locke who knows.

I really hope furfrou joins Stantler and Girafarig in the "Weak single stage normal types that get sick evolutions" club because it's a pokemon I have a huge soft spot for but it's been unobtainable for almost a decade
Like look at those stats, not terrible, but I'd never call them good.
Just for comparison, these are stantler and girafarig's stats respectively. Not too different, and I feel like it just makes sense to give Furfrou an evolution in Z-A since we're going back to Kalos.

Ey bro, I’ve been brainstorming all day on how Iris could get away from Drayden and the others and make her way to Kalos, but I’ve got nothing coming up in my head
You got any ideas? I’d love to hear them and expand on em
Also just something else I want to say. I picked Abra because Hau does have a key stone, just not a mega stone for any Pokémon. And Diantha did say she’d give Hau and Geeta a mega stone once they train a Pokémon that can mega evolve. Plus you actually CAN catch an Abra in the spot I described, if you didn’t already know. So imagine his surprise when Diantha finally gifts him a mega stone once he gets to Kalos
Ghm,, one thing I had in mind is her lying to Drayden saying that she just wants to visit Hau too, to see how he's doing bc ofc, they're like siblings at this point and she really is worried abt him, and hey, Alola is pretty close to Unova, so at least w that Drayden knows she's just close. But Iris ended up going to Kalos instead, her Hydreigon flying her there, just leaving a message to Hau that she's gonna go and find Diantha (like maybe this is set before that concept of Hau finding Abra, and it's enough of a prompt for him to do the same). But maybe Drayden found out and got so pissed and so worried that he ended up having every gym leader and elite four to always trail behind Iris so she won't head to Kalos
Another thing I had in mind that maybe she really just left with no letters or anything left behind for Drayden, she just wants to see Diantha again.
Or maybe she just gave up, thinking that Diantha really is dead and Lance is just lying to her and Hau that she's still alive. Cause if Diantha's still alive then.. shouldn't she show herself by now?? Iris just misses her ig, but everyday she's starting to doubt if Diantha really is still out there or not
Take ur pick hahaha
And ohh yeah I actually didn't know abt that considering that I haven't played anything past gen five, I only recently started playing Pkmn X hahaha but that's cool tho!
And yeah Diantha would be proud Hau found a Mon that he can mega evolve, god imagine how impressed she'd be tho, cause he trained that Mon only for a week and already it's strong af, it could teleport to another region, and for Diantha maybe her lessons w the kids are paying off seeing as Hau got to Kalos just by himself and no one even caught him
But like imagine this lil training thing tho and it's Dia just being really soft and encouraging and she's really guiding Hau how to handle Alakazam's strong psychic surges too, how to handle the strain mega evolution does to both trainer and pokemon, how she's there for him every step of the way. And more and more the thought of Diantha being remotely evil leaves Hau's mind, bc hey,, how could this sweet angel that gave him a home in Kalos, that really feels like home, could ever do anything wrong? What she did to the others.. well.. she's just showing them that they're not right, what they're doing isn't right, and Hau finally saw that. Leon was wrong. Steven and Wallace should see that. Cynthia should see that. They should believe Diantha too. After all.. Diantha just wanted the world to be a better place, and that world in Hau's mind is a world where he gets to be w Diantha and Iris and the rest of the champions and their pkmn all together.
In that world, he'd finally have the family that he always wanted. A family that will always there for him no matter what.
#it shows tho how dia's manipulation runs *deep*#but at the same time she is genuine when it comes to iris and hau#like how shes genuine w augustine despite keeping him in the dark#bc in her own twisted mind she does care abt them#but her way of showing it (making them always tell her the truth. always keeping an eye on em secretly. etc.) isnt exactly.. right#and shes far too deep into that rabbit hole to actually see what shes doing wrong too#bc she got so used to it w sycamore#she got used to it w geeta as well#and now shes doing the same to iris and hau#diantha never faced any consequences before#and the time she finally did (that thing against the others) the only thing that runs through her mind#is to think theyre wrong#bc its the first time someone actually went against her#and they got her brother to go against her too#man this au jfmdndk#but still tho imagine the surprise in the othet champions' faces when they meet Hau again#and instead of him calling out his decidueye#he calls out alakazam and mega evolves it#like thatd be so dope if one of the champions did try to take him away from diantha hfksns hahaha#villain diantha au#an ask and an answer#jerseyk112

"moonenvoy: i have a soft spot for xy. it kinda marked the turning point in my life of becoming an adult but still being able to enjoy my interests, i guess? i was 20 when it came out and it was right after i got my first job, so it was the first game i ever preordered. i have high, but cautious hopes for ZA. was xy great? no, probably not. but ya know what? who gives a fuck. as long as you enjoy it, it's worth it."
I think that's fair. I would have been...hold on a minute, when did this game come out again? In my mid-20s somewhere, still around the time of grad school. So like. Definitely older. But I do remember it as the last game where I was engaged with some kind of community, and yet everyone felt excited. Every single generation after felt worse and worse with fans around, and only Paldea managed to go into things with a positive vibe, because like the only person I talked to about it was my wife. And I feel like it came out in that era where video game critic pessimism peaked. You know the kind. So popular reception was "game bad," and a lot of that rubs off on you when your entire friend group seems to believe the same. But I dunno, replaying it was a lot of fun, I had a genuinely great time. I still prefer my gens 2-4, but it...might have cleared everything else.
I'm personally really excited for ZA. Moreso now. I think Kalos has a lot of potential and it'll be great to see what they do, but also the Legends system is just wholesale superior to the main series so I feel like this is going to be hard to mess up.
"i just hope the character customization in ZA is more along the lines of XY and less. almost any of the others. sumo and l:a were pretty mid and fuck all the school/challenege uniform shit lmao GIVE ME MORE CUTE CLOTHES LIKE XY HAD-"
Okay fun fact. I never really change outfits. XY had the best options, but gave the least money for it, and hilariously had the best default outfits. The rest I just never bothered with. Actually wait, I think I did change outfits in Galar one time. Some of the dresses looked cute. But yeah, ScarVi not really having outfits was disappointing. I think it would overall be an insignificant thing to me, if it wasn't for how young your characters have to look despite the academy having people in their sixties among the student body. If you can customize outfit, at least let me customize old trainer. Or like. Older teen/college age trainer, which seems closer to the other three than your apparent ten-year-old self.

After getting over the excitement and hype that we're not only returning to Kalos, but getting a Pokemon Legends game set in Kalos, I am still cautiously optimistic. Pokemon Legends Arceus was genuinely the first time Pokemon had evolved on the formula from a portable game to something for consoles, and I was very disappointed to see that they didn't carry those changes over to Scarlet/Violet. If this new game has more in common with Legends Arceus than it does Scarlet/Violet, and it's actually finished and stable this time, I'm greatly considering playing it.
...I do have a soft spot for Kalos because I loved those games, and Chespin is my favorite Pokemon.
#I'm interested to see what a Pokemon game solely set in an urban environment would look like#would there be parks?#would we be able to explore the sewers?#would they have something like the parisian catacombs?#I'm also hoping that the original Kalos starters get mega evolutions#I would love to see a Mega Chesnaught#Pokemon#Pokemon Z-A

Ah, I have a soft spot for them 🥺 saw them a LOT in Kalos.
I don't get them a lot in the daycare. Ledyba and combee get along great tho!!! I love seeing them passed out together in spring after spending the afternoon playing in flowers. Ledyba WILL try and protect combee if another Pokémon attacks. And because of this, vespiquen will often spare a bumbling ledyba for getting in too close 💕
I did this before, but want to try getting back into the swing of things!
Reblog and give me a Pokémon, and I'll tell you something about it from my experience as a nursery worker from a daycare! Don't send it as an ask or leave it in the tags, please!

Hello, I am back with some more Soni and Lucille interacting headcannons (feat. Happiny and Luce’s Pokemons)
Luce has a Gogoat and a Florges and they join Soni’s Dairy Team and Berry Team. She did wish that her sister’s Leavanny is here as well as it would make spinning threads a lot faster.
Luce crying a second time after arriving in Twisted Wonderland after Soni translated how much Lucille’s Pokemons love her.
The girls take shifts in their jobs so the other could get sufficient sleep.
Happiny being gentle with Lucille’s Pokemon egg, waiting for the little one to hatch so she could have a little sibling to play with along with with her Big Sis Chansey and her Big Bro Pichu .
Happiny calling Lucille Auntie Lucy shall live in my head rent free.
Lucille can’t really sing, but she can play a soft tune on the piano and put Happiny and her Pichu to sleep when it’s bed time.
You remember that Pokemon episode about a special delivery Houndoom and Togepi, yeah that’s Onion the Houndoom with Happiny (and Pichu and the Pokemon the Egg will hatch into)
Happiny about to get into danger ? Don’t worry, Luce’s Pokemons are there to the rescue !
Floyd picking up Happiny and about to go somewhere ? Aerosmith the Talonflame dive bombed him and getting the eel burned in the process.
Happiny somehow on too of a tree ? Sonic the Noivern is up there within seconds and give her a ride. He will then uses his ultrasonic waves to look for the freshest and ripest fruits to share with Happiny
Going for a swim in Octavinelle ? Anjawlica the Feraligatr is there as a floatie and to supervise, ready to perform the Feraligatr Death Roll on anyone that tries any funny business.
Some students about to pick on Happiny bc she is small and “weak” ? Suddenly they fell into a large pit that was dug by Jawsephine the Gabite/Garchomp.
Crowley about to approach Happiny ? Not to worry, Onion the Houndoom is chasing him up onto a tree within seconds.
Soni might have met one of Lucille’s older sisters before as the younger one is currently training to take over Malva who will retire soon due to her old ties with Team Flare.
While Casual Geographic Soni’s narrating style is like the guy who runs the channel (i don’t his name unfortunately), Casual Geographic Lucille is like a mix between David Attenborough and a cautious Steve Irwin.
I also headcanon that if the girls have Sygna suits, Soni’s would based on Dior while Lucille’s would be based on Onion. (Seriously, i love the Sygna suits from Pokemon Master and whoever designed them needs a raise)
Aw 🥺 those are so cute! This is kind of a what-if situation, so this is just for fun, just in case anyone's thinking this is canon to the fic just as an fyi
Soni might not tell Lucille about her ability to talk directly from Pokemon speech. It'd be something where Dior would communicate the feelings through psychic power than flat-out saying something due to Soni's fear of someone finding out about her Blessed status.
Soni getting sleep? With the Braincell Trio? She might be dreaming- jk, I can see her being like "Can you deal with them for like five minutes? They can't be left alone. Otherwise, Aegis might chase them up a tree again."
HAPPINY THO
Happiny being a big sibling to the Pokemon Egg and protecting it my heart 💕💕💕 THE HAPPINY PROTECTION SQUAD she deserves it because the little bab is too nice
Her being so loved is always a blessing aaaaa
That Pokemon Episode with Togepi and Houndoom was one of my favorites. It was so cute, so imagining that with Happiny 🥺🥺🥺 that's maximum cuteness
Oooh, if Soni did see/meet Lucille's siblings, that would definitely be interesting. Mostly because Soni's reputation in Kalos varies wildly, depending on the person that someone talks to, so idk how Lucille's sister would react to Soni because of that.
Although, if she's taking over Malva's spot, Soni would be simultaneously relaxed and tense due to outside interference, nobles who have connections through Malva, and previous sponsorship clauses. That's if we're dealing with my world's Malva, but idk in this headcanon.
I was contemplating the idea that Lucille was like a cautious Steve Irwin, based on what I knew about her. It's like Soni's the one to inform, but Lucille's more showing the danger up-front.
Oooh 👀 Sygma Suits look really cool. That's actually funny because Soni's Ceremonial Cloak is somewhat based on a Gardevoir, so for her Sigma Suit to look based on one sounds fitting. One day I will draw Soni's Ceremonial Cloak, but that's in the future!

Since the reveal of Iono I figured I'd ask this: Would and which of your OCs would be fans of her streams?
Hi there namelessbaron! Ooh this is a good question. Kind of hard to say for certain at the moment just because who knows Iono's role in the story will be and her role may dictate the end result, so I'll definitely revisit this ask once the game is out. But for now, given the information we do know I think I'll go in order from least likely to be a fan of hers to most likely. Starting from the absolute least likely it would be Jack. Jack sees streamers/influencers being low class compared to his own royal upbringing. This kind of adds some extra clash between Jack and Raihan (as Raihan is from an old noble family in cactusverse) because Jack sees Raihan's social media hobby as an insult to his blood. Raihan obviously doesn't see it that way as he's more about showing more down to earth sides of the royal houses (him, Gordie and Melony all share that same goal). I think the next least likely would be Cami. Cami just really doesn't keep up with streamers or influencers outside of people she knows in real life who do that. Some of her medical school/grad school friends vlog or do livestreams of other hobbies and so she'll support them and has even appeared on a few. But Cami doesn't really use her free time looking at streams so outside of maybe Iono collaborating with a friend she wouldn't follow her. But I don't think she'd have a negative opinion of her. If she were to meet Iono and they became friends I could see her subscribing to help support a friend.
Next least likely would be Jabari. Jabari is a bit more into streaming and vlogging than his cousin Cami is. In fact he regularly helps Shauna and Tierno with their streams and as Kalos champion he's done collabs with other influencers to help repair the reputation of the Kalos league. I think the issue for him is moreso that he wouldn't vibe well with Iono's kawaii routine. It's a little too saccharine for his tastes but much like Cami, I don't think he'd have an actual negative opinion of her. He probably would tune into streams to see if he could learn anything from her to help Shauna and Tierno improve their content. I feel like Marsha would at least be a subscriber to Iono. Despite being more of a fairy type trainer, she does have a huge soft spot for electric types thanks to training at Lt. Surge's gym when she lived in Kanto and having her first Pokemon be a Pichu. So she'd enjoy watching an electric type influencer. Valen I think would also be a subscriber and probably tune in a bit more regularly. I honestly could see Valen at first thinking she's a robot because of the floating magnemite hair accessories and being like "OMG another robot like me" but then realizing she isn't but still tuning into watch her content because he enjoys it. I think Calla would be the most likely to be an outright fan of Iono's. I feel like Calla and Iono's bubbly energy would match really well and Calla would love to be on one of Iono's streams and would get a chance to once she became champion! She'd also probably try to bring Raihan in to help collab (if Iono and Raihan don't collab already).

Ash Ketchum: Badass or just bad?
Depends on the saga, and that itself is probably the most frustrating thing about him.
In Kanto, he was a moron, and even kind of an asshole. But I honestly didn't mind that, considering this season's role in the grander scheme of the show. I don't even mind how his Pokemon League journey ended. It was only his first attempt, and considering that he didn't earn most of his badges, his losing because he gambled on Charizard is surprisingly fitting. In fact, it's the perfect symbolism. He lost because he had a lot of power but had yet to earn it. He was a novice, the stupid moments are appropriate for this stage of his journey.
He's definitely come a lot further by the Silver Conference, but he's still depending on Brock and Misty. They're his teachers and they pretty much co-parent him. He's definitely gained power and experience as a trainer but he needs to take the training wheels off. I don't have a lot to say about Johto, but I also think that him gradually phasing his Kanto pokemon out and replacing them with the new ones meant that his growth was framed differently than other series', and maybe that's why I just never got into his Johto team.
To an extent, he does do this in Hoenn. Brock is still around, but with Misty gone the whole group dynamic shifts around. Seeing Ash alone and with new companions in those first three episodes, though? Man did he feel like he had come a long way. By the end of the Hoenn series, he even got a little too overconfident. Though I have soft spot for Hoenn Ash and I feel like he did earn that confidence. Still, few things symbolize how much he still had to learn as him straight up forgetting that Seismic Toss wouldn't affect Brandon's Dusclops. He made the right choice, continuing to travel and declining to become a Frontier Brain.
Everyone knows Sinnoh. Everyone loves Sinnoh. Apart from Tobias. Ash grew as a Trainer more in this adventure than in any other. In no small part due to having Paul as a rival. It motivated him to challenge himself. Gen 4 was where the games really fleshed out the competitive aspect and you can see this reflected in the show. Even the training itself, stuff like the counter shield. The entire storyline of Chimchar. I can bring nothing to the conversation about how incredible Sinnoh was.
We don't talk about Unova.
Kalos on the other hand, was-okay, okay, I'm kidding. I won't do that. But seriously, Unova was such a disappointment. I don't even mind Pikachu losing to Snivy, it's clear that was a "forced loss" plot-wise, that didn't truly reflect Pikachu's skill. But the entire saga was like this. I was joking before, but I'm serious when I say that we don't talk about Ash vs Elesa. What even was that nonsense. Not even Kanto Ash would have done that.
Kalos Ash was best Ash. I like Alola very much, perhaps more than most people, but I can't ignore the perfection that was the XY arc in the anime. Ash was a rock star in this storyline. He was at his most likeable, had far more agency, was very much competent and even inventive - and had his best team, I'm saying it. I don't even mind that he didn't get mega evolution, he pretty much got his own exclusive secret mega. Should have won the Kalos league though.
Alola, despite being one of my favorite arcs in the anime and finally giving Ash the league victory...it was honestly the sharpest reset he's gone through since Unova. Sorry, I love the whole school idea, but after he was the runner up in the Lumiose Conference...Ash should be like, an assistant teacher. Not a student who even feels the need to cheat. Doesn't help that they made him go from looking sixteen to looking seven.
Journeys is fun. I haven't seen a lot of it but this arc makes me happy because they actually committed to having Ash become and stay a league champion. They didn't retcon it, and he doesn't feel like he's reset at all. His team is a powerhouse, and they even gave him a Lucario at long last. This gives me hope for the future, that he won't get reset anymore.
So, yeah. His trajectory is a lot of ups and downs. He catches a fair number of pokemon, all things considered. Sure, he'll never "catch em all" but I actually prefer quality over quantity for his pokemon - since they basically retire from the series after they finish a league on the active team. That's why so few of his Unova mons are memorable, there were simply too many.
And yeah, he releases far too many of them, but again - it's not like he was ever going to use Greninja and Goodra again after Kalos. A release is a departure from the show, just like Ash does to his teams when he goes off to a new region. Some of them are pretty stupid (He gave his Primeape away to a total stranger for no reason, mere hours after finally getting through to him. You suck, Ash.) But other make sense. Anytime he releases a pokemon for the sake of their happiness, I can't complain. But I will complain when he leaves them with other people for "training" Dude, that's your job! It's right there in the name!

Some hypotheticals behind "baby" Legendary Pokemon, including my process behind how I came to points I did and things I'd imagine them to do when they're young. Starting with Kalos!:
Xerneas: It and Yveltal naturally were the easiest to come up with; one would've been a fawn, the other a chick. For Xerneas I really tried getting into the frailness that a fawn has, and the caution around people. It'd still be large, even for a fawn (around the same size as your typical adult deer in the real world) but it's height wouldn't be too much a hindrance in the wild. Xerneas fawns aren't left alone- typically they follow the parent around until they're able to walk steadily, graze easily, and be able to fend for themselves. As babies, they're sensitive to human disturbance; they live in the deepest reaches of forestry- although it isn't unheard of for stray fawns to wander off and end up near a settlement, it's extremely rare to spot even then because of their nature to hide at perceived threats. The spots on their coat can both reflect light and change colors, aiding in their ability to hide from danger.
Yveltal: Based loosely off the hoatzin's chicks, a young Yveltal grows out of the claws on its wings after molting into its first adult plumage. As a chick, its down is well-suited for insulation and blending into rocky outcroppings; Yveltal are known to nest either at high altitudes or dormant volcanoes, both of which tend to be fairly undisturbed places. While young and still fledging, chicks tend to pick up a hot streak of hunting on anything they can get their talons on- while not particularly aggressive per sé, they're absolutely rambunctious and can leave injury through even thick clothing. Speaking of talons, when young, their claws are black- the keratin eventually becomes weathered and worn as they grow, becoming more grey over time.
Zygarde: A solitary Zygarde is the most common depiction of one, and for good reason. Once enough Cells and Cores coalesce, a Zygarde is "born" and is left to fend for itself. While young and still growing, it lives mainly underground, burrowing through soil and making a sizable gallery for itself to dwell upon. As it grows, over time the amount of green on it's body is replaces by more black, and also darkens once it leaves its burrow to live aboveground. The feelers on its sides serve similarly to whiskers- they detect vibrations while burrowing, and are sensitive to changes in wind or air pressure when not underground.
Diancie: "Born" most commonly around colonies of Carbink, Diancie young are soft-bodied and vulnerable. They use the Carbink to their advantage, gaining protection from threats by living among them and being raised by them until its body hardens up. Its crystals are still developing as well, and it isn't uncommon for newborn Diancie to actually have other gems on its body; it sheds them with age to be replaced by the signature pink diamonds. The same is true of the hard white sheet of rock around its shoulders- it begins soft, almost like a sheet of sorts, before growing along with the Diancie and hardening as another layer of protection.
Hoopa: When young, Hoopa has no real way of being confined. Hotheaded and boisterous, it's been known to pick fights with Pokemon much larger than itself, despite whatever power imbalance there may be. The fur on its body ces in different lengths and layers, depending on the living conditions around it. No matter the environment however, a young Hoopa will have a tail packed with fat and other nutrients to support its growth into am adult- similar to how both geckos and gila monsters will store reserves inside its tail as well. The hole in its chest is nearly completely covered by fur when young, and it is still gaining control over its legs and arms- this gives it a disadvantage in fights, due to its unwieldiness and all the learning it still has to do.
Volcanion: Based loosely off turtle hatchlings, and very similar to Zygarde, Volcanion young grow up alone. Born from small clutches, the young remain until the last egg hatches, then they all take their separate ways. Newborn Volcanion have a hefty control over the steam and water they can eject, as it is their primary defense system at this age. Dangerous, it cannot use these resources indefinitely, so it sparingly goes into the attack when defending itself. Babies are primarily non-predatory and even complacent with people, if exposed to them enough and given enough time to healthily grow. When feeling threatened, Volcanion young will make a series of dry barks and defensive postures- this includes aiming its ejective appendages at the threat and blowing a warning steam from its vents. If found and raised well as a newborn- a hard task that isn't impossible because of its voracious appetite at such an age- it's quite easy for one to become tame and a regular visitor to specific places in a town, or to a person's backyard.
