So Venus de Milo, the “girl turtle”, the “fifth turtle” (not counting April’s extremely brief stint as a white-bandana’d turtle in the Archie comics run) was introduced in 1997′s Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation

An episode of “The Toys That Made Us” touched upon Venus’ creation so idk it’ll cover what I won’t deign to acknowledge.

tl;dr Venus still has Sixth Ranger mode on, so naturally she whoops all of their asses in the dark, ties them up (like how some of y’all enjoy writing Leo does huhu nudgenudge winkwink)

so fast forward to Venus teaching them to dreamwalk so they can go rescue Splinter from Dragon Lord’s clutches in the dreamscape.

unfortunately, Dragon Lord offscreen murders Chung I so Venus is narratively anchorless post-rescue, so she’s invited to stay with them. thus ensues wacky hijinks with their new pal, Venus Boom Boom de Milo.

I glossed over the urge to write a cumulative review of Next Mutation. Just, take my word as the target demographic of the show during the last gasps of 90s Turtlemania that TNM was a trashfire overall but... y’know... if you ever needed a palette cleanser after some grimdark or angsty TMNT content, give TNM a whirl. The slapstick was intentional and The Point in the show. Venus’ circumstances for coming was as serious as it would get.

... Also, yes, they made them not related in TNM, preteen snackugaki didn’t clock why because I watched a lot of wuxia as a kid so brotherhood is a term beyond blood ties to me (and if I’m being honest, martial brotherhood is fkkn metal) and later I heard tell that it was to lure more girls into the franchise with both a girl turtle and romance options. which idk whatevs man. 

I also have to clear that, actually no, Donatello and Venus did not fight EVERY episode. Donatello, despite sprinkling a little too much barely disguised snobbery, did defer to Venus’ expertise in “the supernatural” when the situation called for it, and Venus would commend Donnie on his scientific ingenuity. They even teamed up skillsets to create surveillance drones! She essentially casted Calm Emotions on him while he tried to hack the controls of the Astro Megaship back for the In Space Rangers. They breached the divide between STEM and Humanities! They only had one “real fight" near the end of the season-- because Donnie was playing his containment breach elevator mid trash copyright strike immune proto-EDM too loud while she was trying to meditate. and that’s just being bad roommates tbh.

...christ I know it’s gonna come up too, but also NO, there was not constant advances made toward Venus during the show. At most was Mikey pulling his ol’ “I work out every day~!” schtick for like 2 episodes of the 5 spent to introduce Venus. And then after? A shipper’s desert, you’d have to dig and peer behind like 8 curtains for any viable fodder. 

...OKAY NOW FOR JENNIKA’S ORIGINS: Jennika is an IDW character specifically so, naturally why she isn’t in (or would’ve been, AHEM) a lot of iterations yet (or at all, COUGH) (but to continue in honesty there’s a lot of legal tape to cut through since Jennika is IDW’s while TMNT overall is Nick’s) Introduced as a Foot Assassin, her place in the Foot Clan shifts when Splinter takes over from Shredder (Saki), eventually she forms actual bonds with both the turtles and Splinter to where it’s implied she also saw him as an important figure to her if not an outright surrogate father figure. And because TMNT is mess and drama the other 50% of the time, Karai takes over the Foot from Splinter and shenanigans compounded by Karai’s then-current machinations for the Foot-- results in Jennika getting shanked in the stomach by Karai during a clandestine meeting to resolve clan rivalry. She’s losing blood fast, Donnie works to save her and it’s Leo who volunteers for blood transfusion to keep her stable mid-transit. 

SURPRISE!

Leo’s blood mutates Jennika into a mutant turtle. And then Casey ghosts/dumps her. My poor daughter. She has a real rough time of it before fully integrating with the boys. Raph falls in with Old Hob, gets hoodwinked, and now they live in Mutant Town. Jennika slowly finds herself again, as a mutant turtle, a Splinter clan ninja, a girlfriend, a guitarist in a band she started, a sister in a found family, and a constable to a very little town.

okay! we’re all marginally informed about my two wonderfull daughters, Venus and Jennika~!

so if I can indulge further, I’m going to use my cognizance and make it everyone’s problem because I have beem quietly foaming with ideas for bg lore for tactical!J&V, more bullet points!

ok so, donathan mentioned a bit about their tac! Leo and Donnie being the snipers, Mikey and Raph spotting for them while also being demolitions and heavy ordinance specialists respectively

I would think, then for Vee and Jen, they’d be classified as close quarters combat specialists, complicated extraction? compromised area? call them to clean up and clear out~

give or take “magic” being a thing used in donathan’s AU, or anyone’s AU of this AU, Vee would probably be a close combat specialist along with Jen.

Vee, I feel, would, barring a ...”tactical fan”, (even though in TNM it was just her fists and her little wizard components but her toy came with a fan so.) probably use batons, Jen in lieu of her tekagi-shuko would... most likely use tactical karambit. not that large of a leap really.

for my personal lulz, Vee and Jen are... accurate, height-wise. Raph gets to be the biggest brother since alligator snapping turtles are, in fact, the largest motherfucking freshwater turtles on the north american continent. no getting around it.

my Vee in all Rise AUs is a softshell since the messy hanzi used to write her first given name, Mei Pieh Chi (美鱉气) has the hanzi that’s most commonly translated as softshell turtle (鱉). eh ‘di wow talaga

snacku what do you mean ‘accurate’???? tl;dr female turtles are usually the larger ones in most species.

and listen, I love and I mean LOVE, how some of y’all have written the tac!boys, mwah; but god I’m a professional turtle bully. I need to see them get dunked on. for nutritional value. and if it comes to it, I will provide that food for myself. brb laughing at eventually drawing Venus just offhandedly tossing Donnie into the air to skeet shoot his ass for fun brings me the greatest joy.

note: i wrote this with alive!reader because if i remember correctly, ghosts can't get sick! like, in the scene where Edwin and Charles [i believe in episode two] they had to find the right book, and they found it and it had pictures of what each paranormal parasite does, and Charles went "i think i'm gonna be sick" and Edwin replied with "you're a ghost Charles, you can't get sick" not me randomly remembering lore this is also written from a bit of a more personal experience when i'm sick, so i apologize if it isnt accurate FOR YOU. whenever i get sick i'm extremely sensitive to noise and light, so i end up practically cocooning myself in a blanket (which gets kicked off half a minute later bc its too hot) with the lights off and a barely audible show playing in the background. also, if you're vegetarian, please imagine a different soup.

"aw, you're burning up, do you want some soup?" Crystal asks quietly as she retracts her hand from your clammy forehead, trying to stay more quiet than usual in the hopes of not overwhelming you with sound. you merely nod, barely keeping your eyes open. "okay, wait here" Crystal gives you a small smile and kisses your forehead, before walking out of your room and closing the door.

you can hear her practically yelling at Charles to get in there and comfort you while she's out to get chicken soup

half a minute later, Charles walks in through the wall, walking over to your bedside.

"hey there, you alright?" he lowers his voice a little once he sees your discomfort with the initial volume.

"i feel like shit, probably look like it too..." you mumble, your voice hoarse.

"nah, you still look like an angel to me, love" he gives you his signature, charming smile.

you'd roll your eyes if it weren't for the booming headache.

he sighs softly, realizing just how bad you feel.

"are you burning up? i could cuddle with you if you want, you know, cuz us ghosts have a cooler temperature" he murmurs softly, and once you nod, he lifts the blanket carefully and climbs in next to you, your head on his chest and his arms around your waist.

within a few minutes, he can hear your breath going steady and calm, slowing down ever so slightly.

you have fallen asleep.

he smiles to himself, even more so when he look down at you, seeing how you're practically clinging onto him.

he stays as still as he can, despite not being able to sleep himself, he made you and Crystal a promise he's take care of both of you, no matter what. and he intends to keep it.

Crystal comes in a little later, with a hot bowl of chicken soup, a spoon, a cup of tea and some painkillers.

they share a look of understanding, and Charles carefully peppers your face in gentle kisses, featherlight yet enough to wake you up.

"goodmorning sunshine" he murmurs a little playfully, your groggy bedhead being picture perfect to him, absolutely gorgeous.

Crystal smiles sympathetically at you.

"i got you chicken soup, and a cup of tea, so you can take your painkillers" the moment the mention of the medicine falls off her tongue, you whine and shove your face right back into Charles' chest, making him chuckle.

"come on princess, you gotta take them, they'll make you feel better" he coos into your ear, slowly letting you go to get up, so you'll be able to sit up properly aswell.

reluctantly, you get up, tipping back the painkillers first, with a big gulp of tea, and you look at both of them.

your not-so-picture perfect lovers, meant to be just for you.

they both smile at you, and Crystal hands you your bowl of chicken soup.

once your finished with the soup, Crystal takes the now-empty bowl from you and walks out for a second to put them in the kitchen, unbeknownst to her though, Charles follows her.

she only notices once she feels his arms around her waist, and his chin on her shoulder.

"i wish we could do more for [name]" he mumbles.

"i know, me too" she whispers back, running a hand through his curls.

Yeah you’re right a MCD rewrite is people rewriting MCD and adding their own ships or improvements or different plot points. It started because the original MCD is kinda written poorly. Some plot points go nowhere, some parts are problematic, some parts drag on, characters appear and disappear, characters stopped developing and most importantly MCD has no ending and was abruptly discontinued by Jess so she could focus on Mystreet and other projects. People just wanna improve and finish the thing that means so mich to them basically. You can find them on AO3 and a few on Wattpad (I recommend AO3 tho its easier to find rewrites ur interested in cuz the tag system)

(There arent enough words in this world to explain my hatred for aarmau and aaron BUT)

Many reasons heres the main few: when Aaron was introduced he was supposed to be a side character but then he became a love interest kinda outta nowhere (my theory as to why is because Jess’s husband Jason voices him) and when he did become a love interest other characters like Laurence and Garroth kinda stopped developing and became worse to justify why Aaron was a good choice for Aphmau. For me they never had any chemistry in MCD, when its revealed Aphmau is pregnant with Aaron’s kid my brain logged out because wtffff how did they find the time and also why Aaron ://. He wasn’t kinda boring, his angsty past could’ve been used more but wasn’t he was just a brooding masked figure who followed Aphmau around. Then Pheonix Drop High happened and made things really weird. So when Aaron was 18 going on 19 he started dating Aphmau who was 14. Very creepy much yuck, they didn’t communicate well and then his whole character became that he’s in love with Aphmau but “he’s just not good enough for her :((“ and “i shouldn’t be with her shes perfect” and personally i find romance dramas infuriating, especially that kind of drama. AND YES AS A 18YR OLD U SHOULDNT BE DATING A 14YR OLD WELL DONE AARON. Mystreet they were the annoying lovey dovey couple with relationship drama they just rubbed me the wrong way in that series, I stopped watching after Emerald Secret and only recently forced myself to finish Mystreet and yeah no idc about them or their relationship. In MCD season 3 when Shad was introduced as a full character his whole thing is he’s Aaron again but evil and Aphmau’s sad about it and uuuuugg i dont caaareee. And I personally thought Aphmau wasn’t gunna end with anyone in MCD because she went on multiple rants about how that isn’t what she’s looking for and she has to think about her people first and she prefers her own company and then BOOM gets pregnant of masky mcsad face. Ugh. Basically Aaron ruined everything.

Garrence has been a ship since the characters were introduced and quite simply its because they have more chemistry together than with Aphmau. I’ve always been a lil uncomfortable with how Jess wrote Laurence and Aphmau’s interactions and Garroth and Aphmau’s interactions but Garroth and Laurence interactions were just more natural they had more banter they were sweet together. Then Jess did a bunch of queerbaiting with it and the ship got bigger, so many fanarts so many fanfics. Then it just never happened because Jess is a coward. Like it would’ve been so nice to see the hints and chemistry go somewhere but it didn’t. Everyone still holds hope tho. With rewrites Garrence is Canon :))

My TotK experience and how it shaped my TotK shipping.

I'm writing this out because I got static on a random post for mentioning my headcanon, and I figure my own blog is a safe place to write it all down and get my experience in one place for better or worse. I'm a mutishipper by temprement, so you can and should ship what you like. Do not think by outlining my experience and thoughts I am trying to invalidate your own. Totk and BotW are both games with amazing emergent gameplay. The written narrative is only a fraction of the tale as you write your own version of events by what you choose to do and in what order you do it.

My wife is a huge Zelda fan. I enjoy the games, but she is the one who keeps them coming in. She's got a Triforce Engagement Pendant(try putting that on a ring!) we saw the Symphony of the Fates on our wedding night(and our first not-date years before) Zelda is a thing.

So I played BotW, and I played TotK. I enjoyed them both! At the end of BotW I was sure Zelink was a cute sure thing. I was happy! (My wife was frustrated Zelda didn't tell Link how she felt 😆)

Then we played TotK. Six years later, Zelda and Link are spelunking and boom the game yeets Zelda away. Couples-time, we barely knew ye. Now, both my wife and I play our own separate saves. We generally avoid spiling for each other, and we play quite differently. (In BotW I went right for the castle, found the basement, and ended up fighting the Stalnox that protected the Hylean Shield with 4 hearts. In TotK she mapped the entire underground early on)

My TotK experience began with me making a bee-line for Gerudo town after talking to Purrah/Robbie and exploring the castle a little. I liked the Gerudo plotline in BotW and wanted to see what was going down over there these days.

The Gerudo plotline is definitely fun (uh spoilers I guess?) Seeing Riju grown and trying to be a strong leader was awesome. (I have a headcanon she's still short because she met Link. She knew exactly how tall the strongest warrior in all of Hyrule was, and so why get any taller than that?)

I completed the temple, got my first sage power, and now several things converged.

1)Okay, so Riju's crush on Link in her Diary is cute. Not unique, everyone crushes on Link!

2)I decided to explore after completing this quest. Checking out the corners, completing my map, gaining some shrines, etc. This means I spent a lot of time with Riju as my only sage. We crossed Hyrule and back time and time again, checking on people, visiting old haunts, and fighting enemies way past my weapon's abilities thanks to her lighting.

3)Riju is the most interactive of the sage powers. Activate the power, and then you have to actually work with her to trigger it. It's not temperamental like Yunobo's either. Riju will hold ready for you for quite some time. It's also very versatile. Explode enemies, blow up mining points, and one of my favorites- Light the underdark. There's something deeply intimate about being surrounded by darkness with only your partner's power to light the way for you.

It made Riju one heck of a travel companion. Just having someone *anyone* along with Link, him not being alone, felt so good after being alone in BotW. The Warrior of Light and his Sage companion. Little tales wrote themselves, like an epic saga.

Still, Zelink was still a thing, right? Then You run into Link's old home in Hateno. It's changed, definitely. You find Zelda's lab. You find her Diary. -Now, here I know the Japanese version has a very different tone, but I didn't have that version so I only got the English- reading Zelda's words painted a picture of a close bond, but also not a classical 'ship' one. Combine this with some of the other tidbits and memories collected on the journey and it just painted a very different picture for me(and my wife) There may have been dialogs we missed too, it's a vast open world game, and this is a retelling of my playthrough, not a comprehensive thesis based on all the lore available on a wiki.

This Zelda, being Aro/Ace. Or at least if not, being so immersed in her work and duty that something like a traditional relationship isn't on the radar for her. She's got her Science. She's got her Kingdom. She's got her curiosity. These things Matter to her. A romantic relationship? Just didn't feel like it did.

Link is still the most important person in the world to her. He's her Knight. He's reliable, supportive, dedicated, brave. He's as vital to her as her own two hands. A respectful Link could easily be seen accepting this role. Zelda's vital to him too. He cares for her and will always be there. It's his duty, and his passion. The two are inseparable. They're just not a *couple*

So, where does this leave us? Link and Zelda will travel together always. Riju is Queen of the Gerudo and cannot just leave her people. She's also someone who my TotK Link spent time with (in my writer's brain the sage-mirages actually sent impressions back to the Sages in their dreams, and as time went by the link between the two could be two ways, like a form of active astral projection in a crisis)

So a RiLink relationship that is built on respect and trials together, but that understands the duties placed on both just seemed cute. He's still with Zelda, she's still with her people. She'll eventually end up with a hero's child, and the one male ever allowed into Gerudo town will be able to visit his future child and maybe even pave the way for a more open Gerudo society in the long run.

Zelda and Link are still constant companions day-to-day though. She's the Queen(eventually? Still princess?) he's her Knight. Their relationship is still built on respect and shared hardships(much like RiLink) They're just not an 'item'. They're liege and retainer.

I did the 'Wait how old is Riju?' thing as this was starting to come into focus, because she was young in BotW 😅 She's 17... I think? Fantasy setting, it seemed fine to ship. I mean, everyone thinks Mipha crushing on Link is adorable, and she saw him first when he was a little tot! 🤣

So, that's it really just kind of laying out my ship and why I think it's cute. I welcome any and all comments provided they're couched politiely.

I thought I'd switch it up and show my Jay Gatsby!

You all can thank my English teacher for introducing me to my favorite boy. My Jay Gatsby is a reincarnated version of the original character from the "classic American novel". Let me explain why I love Gatsby so much, because my entire English class judged me for that sentiment 😒

Basically, I relate to him. His endless hope despite being repeatedly let down/turned away is so incredibly relatable. I too am a Gatsby, endlessly reaching for a green light even as it's repeatedly ripped away from me when it's just out of reach. Even my English teacher said so! [That got dark, excuse me....]

So of course I immersed myself in him, gave him a husband and a kid, along with a whole ass mafia to run :3. Did I mention he's TRANSGENDER AND BIROMANTIC HOMOSEXUAL?!?!?

Yeah. I messed him up gang. You shoulda seen my English teacher's reaction to him... It was wonderful.

Now I have to give some lore before the actual good stuff. I want to mention my universes mythology [written in co with @internetv4mpiree !! Happy 4 years of The Safe Haven btw..]. There are dozens of gods, but this one follows my universes' godling [a demi-god who is more god than human.] Of gold, Chrysus. I will be rewriting their lore as it was originally created by someone I would like to avoid mentioning [I'd start ranting to poor @scarlett-fox-bushy-tail if I did lmaooo] and it needs some kinks worked out. But they will be mentioned.

After Gatsby's horrific death he was confronted in a void of sorts. He recounts, "It was hot, a peiricing hot that shook the cold and wet from my bones. I was still vomiting water..but I was warm again. It's like I felt my vitality run back through my veins." And then he was met with the menacing Godling.

Gatsby made a deal. He, Nick, Jordan and his butler were given infinite lives but on the condition that Chrysus could use Jay's body as a vessel. That's why he's got gold liquid as wings.

Boom, he's alive..

But he ain't supposed to be 😒.

Of course, Nick is totally startled. He hadn't called the ambulance just yet, and was holding Jay as he gasped awake. Jay, not wanting to lie to his "friend" [Nick is a f@g. Sorry not sorry, no one calls their cousin's husband handsome and muscly and is straight.], explains the conversation and deal he had made with the gold creature. Nick was stunned, obviously

[another lore bit: my succubus/other worldly creatures didn't appear in this world until 1975. 1975 is when the USA [at the time] created a worm hole, and out spat the first other worldly anthro creature.]

But was truly grateful that Gatsby was alive. The two along with the Butler [forgot his name let me cook] leave the mansion through Nick's garden [Gatsby changed, duh.] And make a mad dash for NYC to retrieve Jordan. Jordan doesn't bat an eye, dropping whatever she was doing to join them, seeing as Nick was incredibly anxious.

They returned to the bar where Myer bootlegged, seeking his advice. Look, Myer had definitely DEFINITELY faked his death atleast once..He's in a mafia ffs. Myer suggested the 4 leave NYC, and head to Georgia, a branch of bootleggers being down there. Jordan had never left NYC, and had a whole golfing career here, so she chose to stay in NYC and eventually fake her own death.

Gatsby has a Daisy meltdown 😒😒 [I hate that b1tch, I made her evil.]

Y'know how I just mentioned making her evil? Yeah. In my universe, Daisy was a serial s3xu@l @$$ua1t3r and Jay was her main target. It's precisely why he never gets drunk anymore [excluding his and Nick's wedding...]. Of course, Jay has abandonment issues and he fears that if he leaves, Daisy won't find him if she wants to leave for Chicago. A huge argument breaks out between Jay and Nick as they were packing Nick's cottage up. That's when Nick confesses, and Jay has a small, silent realization. The realization that he hadn't truly felt loved by Daisy, but he just wanted to feel needed. And Nick was suddenly giving him exactly what he needed without the drama Daisy brought....and the flashbacks to the nights at that house.

These two don't even mention this night for months. Nick because he was embarrassed that he let his emotions slip, Gatsby because he was having a crisis. Obviously he was supportive of gay men, look at Myer, he's definitely bisexual. But he was in denial of ever being gay. "But I love Daisy?" And "He loves me?!

It was miserable.... -Jay

The three flee to Georgia and that's where my lore gets foggy. But let me tell you something to make you guys giggle:

Gatsby was a hippie when it was popular.

Him and Nick settle in Georgia near the coast. They are on beach front property, which neither of them seemed to mind at first. That's when Gatsby fell back in love with boating, it's one of his special interests :3. They do also have a doc! This isn't where they reside presently, but they do still own the little bungalo. Jay continued his work with Myers' bootlegging business/mafia until 1941, when Nick was officially drafted into WW2. Gatsby was heartbroken. He had not confessed yet, but the two literally shared a bed and clothes, and probably kissed atleast once just to "see how it felt". Gatsby was also not allowed to even be known by the government as he was legally dead.

So in 1941, Gatsby said goodbye to his darling "best friend" and found himself with nothing to do. He went into a deep depression, similar to the one Daisy's absence caused back in 1923. This depression lead to a terrible cigarette addiction that Nick still canonly has no idea is still going on [Joseph aka The Medic TF2 replaces his lungs for payment every 2 years]. Gatsby and Nick keep in touch through letters. Nick was present for D-Day, and it is the reason why Gatsby never lets Nick get involved in gun fights..because Nick freezes up.

But after D-Day and the end of the war, Nick returned home..and was utterly traumatized. The two had a rough patch, and their relationship nearly fell apart. But on New Year's Eve of 1950 as the two watched the fireworks go off, the two shared their first kiss. [I love them, your honor.]

Fast forward to 1993.. big jump but there really wasn't much that happened between 1950 and then besides Nick and Jay being gay 😒.

Gatsby was on his way to Chicago for a smuggling project [obviously he isn't bootlegging anymore, he's actually smuggling drvgs ☺️], but ran out of gas about half way there. Guess who's at that same shitty gas station in middle of no where Ohio?

Alto Clef from the SCP Foundation.

Yeah just his luck. Alto was travelling from Philadelphia with his 8 year old daughter, Charlotte [SCP-166] to Chicago for an SCP hit and a to drop Charlotte back off with the nunary. Alto seemed peculiar to Gatsby, and of course he came up with a lame excuse to talk to Alto.

He approached him and asked for some spare cash, as he had to get himself out of this place. Alto found it funny, commenting back "Yup, what a concept! I could use a little fuel myself..and we could all use a little change." [IF YOU GET WHERE I GOT INSPO FOR THIS, YOU ARE AMAZING.] And that led to the two exchanging addresses for letters and AOL usernames [cool, right?]. After their conversation and Gatsby buying snacks for them, the two went their separate ways.

After their meeting in '93, the two keep in touch. They weren't close like they are now, but they'd exchange pleasantries.

That was until that universe had "The Worlds Gone Beautiful" aka SCP-001 happen in it 😒😒

Alto being...Alto, hopped universes, but not before saving Gatsby, Nick, butler man, his at the time husband, Charlotte, Elias Shaw, Mothy Shaw and a few others he thought would be important. They landed in a new universe that matched their old ones...mostly perfectly. In the universe they landed in, the SCP Foundation was common knowledge. That meant Clef and his family now had targets on their backs. Gatsby's existence was also finally found out..and that meant he was a target for kidnapping as his blood had a healing effect.

So Gatsby and Clef decided to establish a protection agency of sorts. It started that way atleast..and then it grew...and then Gatsby and Nick moved back to NYC. Then it became they had terf wars.

And then there was the Buchanan Bunch.

It's exactly what you're thinking. A mafia ran by Pammy's son. They're a persistent threat, and are most likely linked to Alto's ex-wife Lily as well. They have a tendancy to invade Gatsby's parties and Clef's job site.

But as the Mafia grew, he welcomed Hundreds of mere soldiers to even his third co-don, Otto Onceler. Jay adopted his son Thomas in February 2024 and he was married on July 26th, 2024 to Nick Carraway, Alto Clef and Gabriel [REDACTED] surrounded by their family :3. Currently, he's interested in boating, fishing, golf, and his and Alto's "secret outtings".

Jay is often rumored to have murdered Chrysus, as he suddenly took on a much more godly aura since July of 2024. Jay is also rumored to have a secret alcohol problem, but no one has definitive proof.

Jay received his lip scar and neck scar [not seen as he covers it] from a kidnapping incident. He has a gunshot wound in his chest, right above his heart. He also has top surgery scars, Joseph [Medic TF2] also helped him with this and got him on testosterone :3. He has many miscellaneous scars, from small scratches from his cat, to the three gunshot blast sites on his chest, and the blood seal to Damien on his left pec. He has poor vision now, as a gold haze covers 58% of his vision field. He uses the cane due to his disablity from polio in his childhood and to guide him around when needed. His glasses also help but they're very damaged [he refuses to get new ones].

EEEKK I'm so glad I finally got to share my lovely Jay with all of you! He's seriously been a blast to create, and he will always have lore being added to him! I hope you enjoyed!!!

The life of a writer where your brain loves so many ideas at once is hard. One second, I'm chilling while writing Mellan X Darcel or a WoF X reader request, and then BOOM, I get an amazing idea for a whole new book like EXCUSE ME?!?

Also, I am even now remembering making an alt, so I could write even more fanfics. Almost all of them are WoF related- oops- Maybe I'll remember it in like a couple of months or something, idek. I have too many ideas, can someone tell my brain to chill, please?

No sleep so BOOM MORE OC LORE

(Sorry to keep dropping these in your asks I am in fact a rabid animal. No pressure to read or answer these at all. Anyways tw for death, cruelty , depictions of hell, war and loss of identity, as well as implied child soldieryness)

Bernadette was an incredible soldier. She was incredible in combat, ruthless and efficient in dealing with anyone who stood in her way. But after almost 5 years of service to the imperium, an unknown traitor stabbed her through the back and killed her at 21. She then was hurled into hell, paying penance for her sins. After languishing in this torment for a year and a half, powerful demon that had admired her work in the material plane ripped her out of hell, knitting her rotting flesh back together and blessing her with his power so she could continue her work as a ruthless soldier and bring glory to his name. She accepted, because hell was horrible and she wanted nothing more than to get out. But now, after so long in hell, Bernie’s actions haunt her, and she is more terrified than ever that if the other shoe drops, the moment she exhibits the slightest nonconformity, her patron will unmake her and she will be trapped in hell forever, a reality she came to understand after testing the limits of her unlife.

Every time she went down, carelessly throwing herself into battle with haughty assumptions of her own invulnerability, she would meet in the same limbo-like where she first made her deal with they War God. She would sit there either until she was healed or until her undead body managed to start kicking again. But the more she died, the more this pristine, white living room began to rot around her, revealing an acidic, burning landscape behind it. The last time she got knocked down, this crawling rot had almost reached her, snapping at her ankles as if to drag her back into hell. Additionally, it took longer and longer for her to come back. When she asked War God about it, he just smirked and shrugged, talking about how his magic was cosmic, but still had limitations, and if she wanted true immortality, she would have to go to the creator deities. She also realized that the more she died, the weaker her grasp of her past self, personality and lives became.

So, she’s trying to be a better person while serving herself when necessary and trying to cure her dead body so she can get out of her deal. Whether or not she will return form her journey as the same person that left remains to be seen, as is if she can work to earn redemption.

(Up to interpretation but she is fully intended to be a less sympathetic/ morally grey character. She was actually written in response/in tandem with my listening of the grayscale arc. Anyways BOOM art)

leo/need

ichika would definitely be in the woodwind section, very likely alto sax. she joined to be with the rest of leo/need who now need a high sustained voice (see saki) to jam out together. she's not the greatest but she has a very solid and grounded sound.

saki started on trumpet (like her brother), but she ended up moving to percussion because her sickness prevented her from playing trumpet properly (disclaimer i know next to none of the lore past the very broad strokes so pls let me know if this wouldn't work for whatever reason). she would specialize in mallet percussion!

shiho would be that one bassoon player who's absolutely cracked at their instrument and is somehow also very good at several other instruments as well.

honami is percussion (duh) but unlike saki she specializes in timpani! she also does drumset for pieces that need it!

minori would definitely play french horn cuz she heard haruka playing a french horn solo with like a youth symphony or something. she was terrible at it at first but she kept pushing and steadily got better and better until she got second chair horn (aka sitting next to haruka)

haruka, like i mentioned, has played horn for quite some time, having played with youth symphonies and entered solo competitions as well. she was on the verge of quitting for good before she heard minori practicing outside, and they both joined band together!

shizuku plays flute and has a knack for playing very pretty. especially her higher range is much less shrill than her sectionmates'. she sometimes plays the piccolo parts on the flute just for funsies.

airi plays tuba specifically cuz she reminds me of this one tuba player from my high school band. she's a very strong all-round player and leader of the low brass section.

vivid bad squad

kohane plays clarinet. this makes so much sense to me. but her playing would have been very thin and very weak, then it became more full bodied and warm after she met an and heard her playing.

an plays tenor sax, although she also knows alto sax and can play bari sax decently well if needed. she definitely has a lot of street jazz influence growing up on vivid street. she has written several duets for herself and kohane that she has yet to show her.

akito plays trombone. i feel like this doesn't need elaboration but he would have been one of *those* trombone players starting off in middle school, but after seeing a jazz trombone performance, he started to take it a lot more seriously, ending up on vivid street.

toya started out playing the oboe cuz of his father, but switched to euphonium after meeting akito, kind of as a way to support him but also to explore a new avenue and carve his own path. he also benefitted a lot under airi's leadership, and of course from being under tsukasa's wing.

wonderlands x showtime

tsukasa, as mentioned earlier, plays trumpet because of course he does. he would have been one of those kids obsessed with hitting the highest note but eventually developed into an outstanding and very well-rounded player, exercising a very high level of musicianship. he's also strong leader in the brass section along with airi. obviously he continues to play at such a high level because saki can't play trumpet anymore, and you can hear how he almost plays as two for some passages.

emu is a percussionist, and she is very focused on unpitched percussion (especially cymbals) because they make boom and crash sounds but also a plethora of other very interesting sounds. this is also why she was so excited to find the rest of wxs because there is only so much you can do as a solo unpitched percussionist.

rui plays bari sax but one of those saxophones who spends way too much time with the percussion section. he repairs and maintains the percussion instruments but also sometimes makes new instruments with crap he has lying around. he's also the go-to instrument repairman for everyone in the band because his supply of spare parts seems to have no end.

nene started on clarinet but eventually fell in love with the bass clarinet. at first her approach was to achieve the best blend with the ensemble but now she's also looking for ways to really make the bass clarinet shine in its own right.

25ji nightcord de

kanade plays horn but also has a very strong understanding of how all the instruments in the ensemble work together. as a result, she's also composed a few pieces for the band to play (every single one has driven the audience to tears).

mafuyu plays the oboe, according to her mother's wishes, but instead of switching instruments, kanade's compositions helped bring out the oboe in ways that helped mafuyu's individuality shine through.

ena would play flute. she'd be a very good player at her best but her sound is very affected by how tense she is, more so than others. she's VERY good at technical passages and every note is crystal clear.

mizuki is definitely a french horn player. their playing is good, but they're really in band to have a good time. they can often be found chatting with those around them, specifically the rest of the brass section and the saxes.

Louis Handler headcacon dump because he is very silly!!

Has a tendency to be loud, energetic or even mean at times. Occasionally just enjoying to taunt people for fun (never going to far though). However he doesn't purposefully cause harm.

He isn't necessarily talkative either, he's just loud when he does talk

Tracks down sightings of peculiar activities around town, keeping up with missing posters. He loves solving mysteries and often gets super invested.

He's Tweek's friend and they often come up with theorys about regular oddlitys and such mysteries together. Louis is usually more enthusiastic, meanwhile Tweek is scared for his life. They have a lot absurd stuff that they document, however they're also right about some of it; mostly being ghosts and aliens (which are canon to the show). They often share their findings with Kevin Stoley. Another thing I think they do is look into Imagination Land a lot, but they wouldn't DARE sing the song. Not to say that Louis pretends he's going to sing it, just to freak out Tweek lol

Louis also collects really old newspapers that often have exaggerated story's written in them, which really helps solidify his interest in the on goings of town

Every time the kids (usally other background characters) play pretend with him, he always insists on being some sort of psychic or having mind reading powers

Thinks he's popluar, but really isn't lol

His perspective on life differs slightly from others, being one to just often stop and think. He's one to stay up really late or wake up really early just because it "hits different." He breaks basic "rules" such as reading books from back to front. Another headcanon that I have is that Louis has a hard time dealing with sadness or even just recognizing when he's sad; which is where his deep reflective mindset mostly comes from. Either way, I like to think that grew fond of just enjoying those odd, in between moments in life.

He's emotionally attached to his scarf

Fidgtes with random objects; sometimes even rocks he just finds on the ground

Has a tendency to look into abandon-looking places; what I mean by this is that he often wanders around Starks Pond or hangs by the dead mall looking for peculiar occurrences, possiblly just enjoying the nostlagic feeling

Has a stash of old comic books and is OBSESSED with them

He often thinks sounds effects like "boom" and "pow" in his head lol, or just flat out says them outloud when playing pretend games

Listens to a lot of video game OST

Makes inventions out of house hold items; such as trying to invent the perfect snowball marker

Plays with toy trucks

His favorite flavor of Cred is Purple Snowglobe but he also likes Oatmeal Nummy Nums and Candy Wandy Gummy Nums

Sometimes he likes to make snowangels and than just chill before getting up, usually to watch the clouds

Likes nostlagia (a lot)

His eyesight isn't very good, but he insists that he doesn't need glasses

I like to think that the girl in the pink coat from season 19 is actually his sister, his siblings being Chad (canon) and her (my personal idea). This adds to my own Leslie lore lol

He watches the most obscure of TV shows; Chad often joins him in watching so they have idiosyncratic inside jokes and references because of that lol

On that note, I believe that him and Chad are actually very close. I like to think that they tend to watch fireflys at night, just in their backyard together

Him and Annie Knitts have a friendship that mostly consists of them bonding over a liking for things that aren't considered "cool." What I mean is that it's mostly Annie enjoying to collect very early 2000's-like magazines and posters/having a lot of old (probably broken) flip phones, meanwhile in Louis's case he's collecting comic books/watching not very well known media. They both also talk about their old early 2010's toys lol. Another thing I like to think is that they hang by the hills right outside South Park, just sort-off "spying" on the town in a way or picking at the snow.

Other then Annie, own of his closetest friends is Douglas. They hang out by the Lost Forest sometimes, with both of them always getting startled by a wild dog. Afterwards they bolt back to Starks Pond lol.

I also like to think that Louis enjoys camping

Similar to Clyde (mostly in The List), he also tends to "flirt" with girls a lot, but has little to no success. However it would be a lot more toned down in than Clyde in that episode

He probably plays Minecraft

And is a fan of Mother/Earth Bond

Something about him makes me think he's broke, having little to no cash; maybe he's inplusive with money

He has a habit of over-using the word "and" in sentences

I headcanon that he was born somewhere in December

Gets startled easily

He wanders around the school halls a lot and after the Funny Bot episode (only the real ones know the line I'm taking about) he tends to bring a camera with him to document anything else exciting that may happen; he doesn't use his phone as the camera gives the atmosphere more ambience lol. But I'm gonna be honest, if something scary like that did happen he'd drop the camera and dip

What do you think about Julia Quinn not having POC characters in her books in the past? Cause I read somewhere that she didn't want to write something she didn't know about and she was dragged but I kind of get that. It would easily come off as insensitive and racist to have a person of colour in a romcomy plot set in regency England and brush off the extremely racist behaviours they'd face irl. What's your view?

This is a great lead in from my previous ask and point about JQ only NOW writing a heroine of colour into a book after she got paid big bucks for it. It was SO embarrassing of her to sit beside Beverly Jenkins and say something along the lines of (and I am paraphrasing): "It's hard to write people like that into this era because they weren't traditionally Dukes or Earls and did not get happy endings." Listen, I get what she was trying to say but dear god does it sound like we POC do not deserve to get happy endings in a HR context. It was just appalling and so dumb to say out loud. Especially when Beverly who was right next to her has been writing Black characters in that context forever.

One small good thing about the QC book is that she did work on it with Shonda so at least she had that perspective a sensitivity writer would have provided her if JQ had made the choice to include heroes and heroines of colour in her books a long time ago.

This is my view essentially: I think being afraid to write characters of colour because of being insensitive and people of colour not being a part of the aristocracy is such a cop out answer. Because firstly, you can always do research and talk to people to be sensitive to the various cultures you wanna write. Secondly, you can always incorporate POC into the peerage. Personally, I think there are two ways to tackle writing characters of colour in a HR context. For white authors; they DEFINITELY should hire and use sensitivity writers/readers for obvious reasons. As for the storytelling aspect itself; I think characters of colour can be written into the story either through 1) a very realistic manner to that era as Beverly Jenkins, Adriana Herrera and similar authors (I recently read a book by Amita Murray I'll talk about in a bit) who have done so before or 2) set it in a completely different alternate universe where people of colour have always held titles and positions within the aristocracy and this can either be addressed or not at all. If it is addressed then you are allowed to embellish some parts of history for the lore of your story. It is still historical *fiction* at the end of the day. 

The former process takes a lot of research, care and consideration when writing these characters and the political and diverse landscape of the time. Take Amita Murray's book, Unladylike Lessons in Love for example. While it wasn't the greatest book in terms of romance, Amita really did her research with the era she set the story in, The Victorian Era. It is also known to be an era that was booming with more diversity - this allows authors and storytellers alike more flexibility to incorporate characters of colour and how they came to the story's setting.  On the other hand, you have people just doing blind cast in media like Mr. Malcolm's List (which I'd like to remind everyone came out WAYY before Bton and did it first and better!!) and now The Buccaneers where the characters of colour just exist as they are with no explanation required! They are seen as people first and its so refreshing. Props to Mr. Malcolm's List for acknowledging Malcolm's ethnicity and heritage by having him speak in Yoruba in one of my fave scenes in the movie. As for The Buccaneers, I have not finished it so I cannot speak to how they handled everyone's ethnicity but I did love the pseudo Harry and Meghan parallels with Dickie and Conchita from what I saw in the first ep.  As for the addressing how the characters came to be in an embellished history/AU, I guess the Queen Charlotte novel would be an example of how authors can bend history to explain away the colonialism of the time. However, I personally disliked the way it was done and executed within Bton and subsequently QC. Because QC and King George are HUGE historical figures to embellish this much with. It also just felt icky to use them to explain away racism and colonialism of that era. Personally in my own HR writing, I have been taking the Mr. Malcolm's List route of just having people of colour exist in all the spaces without any explanation while still incorporating my characters' cultures into their daily lives/weaving in lines that explicitly state this isn't a character readers can default as white.

Essentially it all boils down to white authors taking the care and consideration to actually write characters of colour. It is an EVEN MORE IMPORTANT STEP to have sensitivity readers and writers to help make the characters actually sound and feel like an actual person of colour. No point having a white writer who is just gonna write a white coded character and slap on a different skin colour (which happens SO often in this fandom sighh). I also think fandom spaces and the publishing industry have a huge problem in not seeking out and hyping up creators and authors of colour. Like I think with these kind of stories, it should come from our own communities first and be uplifted to be shared with everyone.

I think the publishing industry has slowly started doing better, I don't know if I can say the same for fandoms, especially this one. The amount of times I have seen people lauding and defaulting to white authors over authors of colours who produce the same amount and quality of work has been pretty disappointing.

Adding on to say, everyone who wants to write Indian characters - specifically Tamil ones - my asks and DMs are always open for questions!!

Do you have any scathing criticisms of huntlow?

it just came out of no where. Hunter and Willow barely know each other and have nothing in common. They basically shared one episode and boom he has a crush on her. And theres barley any reason for willow to have a crush on him. Willow doesn't understand any of Hunters trauma or know any of his secrets. Theres no tension no nothing. Theres barely anything to make them a ship. The only ship that makes sense in the show writing is luz and hunter. Luz and Hunter writing wise is deeply meaningful, and beautifully angsty. They’ve interacted with each other. They have things in common. Theres no secrets between them. They have tension. They're better rivals to lovers than boring lumity. And the writers did it basically by accident. The writers barely know how to write good romance. The bad romance writing reminds of jk Rowling, bryke from avatar the last Airbender and legend of korra. The only other couples that I feel like are amazingly written romance are caleb and his wife( which has no backstory at all but just the idea of them and the lore and what they mean writing wise is everything) and raine and eda. Everything else is just bad. The owl house is an amazing show, it has good horror, magic, and lore. But the romance is so bad. I want lgbtq representation. But not if the romance is badly written. Rather have no romance at all than.

It is 12:30 in October 28th, and I just finished watching the fnaf movie and, as routine, I feel an urge to infodump :)

Ok so it was odd??? A lot of the lore kinda got messed up in translation, but I can’t help but feel so grateful anyways???

Ngl I would’ve probs shit on the movie if it wasn’t for my friend who, in a convo, mentioned how sad he was that everyone hated the red eyes cause “we’ve been waiting so long, why does it matter they got red eyes?”

Bc of this I gave it a shot, and it was not bad.

I was scared of how it’d turn out just bc the fnaf lore is SO much that even SCOTT HIMSELF doesn’t know where we at, but for the amount of info they were dealing with, they decided to kinda maneuver in their own iteration of it (imo) which wasn’t completely hate-able and I think it was a pretty good course of action

AI AS A WRITER'S TOOL

The following is my take on AI writing, and the content of this video on Sudowrite.

For those who don't understand AI writing, using a platform like Sudowrite isn't all point and click. There's still a lot of work, just different work. For some, this will really help them, as the AI becomes a jr writer, not THE writer. Note the difference.

I still prefer to write my own stories, but I do dig cool tools that can help me out. I have used name generators to help me out. I have picked brains to help me out (not literally, unless AI can help with that, kidding, maybe).

I have played around with different styles to see how a story might work. I have gotten ideas from movies/series, from shit that happens to ppl, etc. I also use story prompt cards that doubles as a game to flesh out story ideas, which right now you can check out the Lore Master's Deck backerkit! Not AI, but the company is called, The Story Engine, it's fucking fantastic!

Point is, I still use the world around me to help write stories. AI is just another tool. There will be idiots who abuse it, fuck those idiots. And fuck anyone who overloads story submissions with AI stories when the rules clearly state not to.

I support Human authors, and funny thing, many who use Sudowrite are actual writers. Hence why this tool helps them so much, because they know enough actual skills to get the most out of the tool. I know it's the trend to hate AI, and hate anyone who uses it, but as a person who hates trends, and hates people looking for fights, I do hope to shed thought on this topic that challenges that tend. I am a natural author. I have been writing off and on for over ten years, had some published. I have shared pages with some great names.

I will continue to write my stories. I will also use the tools available to help me best tell the story. I won't use it to this extreme, as seen in the video above, but I do dig how Elizabeth West really puts a lot of work and thought into her writing.

And like with any book, it all depends on the writer. If it sucks, review it, rate it, and explain the problems. Like with every book. Let potential readers know if the book wasn't well written/edited. This is the thing with self-published books, and everyone of us don't gatekeep self-published authors (I'm assuming reasonable Humans are reading this, ergo, they're not gatekeeping tash heaps). But we still know there are a lot of idiots out there who abuse the ability to self-publish. Be we writers aren't those idiots, are we? We're better than that. No different than with a pro writer who uses AI as a tool.

I will again stress this, it's very different to let the AI do all of the work, which yes, there are writers out there who will do that. Sure, they can if they wish, and I hope if they do, they will make sure the story is still edited well, and give a warning that it is.

I'm not against that if they are upfront. My issue would be, if I see a really interesting book. I decide to buy it. I read it, and I hate it bc it looks like something a toddler would write. THEN, I find out it was all AI written. I'd feel like they didn't even try. I'd feel like they just plugged in some words, let a machine crank out 80k words, and called it book, and then released it. A story is a Hell of a lot more than that.

Sure, in a year, three years, ten years, at some point we will see an AI app that can write any story, make it perfect, and people will indeed use it. They will be able to crank stories just as good as our favorite authors, and release those books as soon as a day apart. Imagine AI stories just as good as a GRRM novel, only without the 10+ year wait in between books. Ten days later, BOOM, sequel!

That is scary. Especially since I adore writing. And those of us who adore it, we will choke on the dust of AI because we won't be able to keep up with the AI writers. BUT, while this is a coming thing to expect, there will be readers who will want to read our books. And this doesn't mean we can't use AI as a tool.

Because if we use it as a tool, and not to do all the writing for us, while we might be a little slower than the complete AI generated stories, we won't be near as slow as those who don't use the tools.

It's up to us all. It's fine to hate the abusers. I fucking hate every kind of abuser. Well, I abuse caffeine, and I don't hate myself, so I do have a few loopholes, but still. Just don't go hating on everyone who uses AI. Because for one, using AI as a tool, doesn't make the author less of a writer. Just like they're not thieves. The topic of AI in the creative world is a lot more complex than what the AI haters think. Hence why I stand by the artists and writers who use AI as a tool. Their voice counts just as much as the haters, and they're way more likable.

If you're still a hater, and you look down on me, I will assume you're no different than a self-publish hater. You might as well be. I will also assume you don't bother to look outside of your opinion, which is sad. For those of you more open minded, and at the very least, curious how this all works, here's the site! I like the Story Engine (not the prompt cards I mentioned earlier) plugin they use. It's a sweet tool, and there are various ways you can use it.

Love me, hate me, whatever, just remember, I never, ever, support abusing AI. I don't support tools replacing Humans, I support tools being used to help Humans. Note the difference.

I wish you farewell, and may your wordsauce be plentiful! Except for the haters. I wish a GRRM level of writer's block on them, because I'm a cruel fucker. lol.

My thoughts about Forward and the new expansion announcement (not sure who wants to read my long rambles but I need to ramble anyway)

So, about "Forward"... it's bittersweet to say the least. Absolutely understandable that they want to get the overpowered god-like dragon out of the way for the next story, and if there's anyone who deserves a good fucking nap more than the Commander it's Aurene, but still, oof my feels. I really hope we'll see our dragon daughter again, this can't be the last time T_T At least it's nice that it's finally the year 1336 AE (the whole Gyala Delve stuff was in 1335 AE still), so we can hope that the Commander got to recover a bit from what they were going through before this drops on them.

As for the expansion, I'm actually a bit all over the place (in positive?). Like, I'm still hyped, but... I'll be honest, I liked the dragon cycle stuff, and the apparent direction of the story isn't exactly at the peak of my interests. It'll have to do a lot of work to get me (and my characters) invested as much as before, and I do hope it will succeed because it's looking simply gorgeous and fun. That said, having Zojja there is already a big bonus, and there are some potential storylines that could get my attention depending on where they go. Also I still want to bet that the big baddy is going to be a really fucked up Menzies (he's got his half-bro's laugh, aww), and the Kryptis are looking absolutely terrible in all the good ways. I do hope this expansion won't permanently alter old maps though, but since Garenhoff ain't looking that good after the boom... (at least keep it all in Kessex, since there's the ToM stuff already)

Game-wise, there's quite a lot of meat to this "mini" expansion! I'm not sure how to feel about the whole weapon thing, as it was interesting to have limited options (like how the engineer and warrior lacked "proper" magic so they made do with what they had) and eventually having ALL weapons available feels too much tbh (and a nightmare to balance), but I guess we'll see how it feels during this weekend's beta and I'm always ready to be positively surprised. As for the rest, it all seems interesting and potentially awesome, though I do worry it might end up being too much at once (I love Warframe, but their releases tend to be A LOT for more, and this feels a lil' too close to that in scope).

Honestly, right now I'm probably just a tad overwhelmed by the sudden info-bomb drop. With more teasers, previews and betas I'll likely find it a bit more familiar and comfortable by the time of the release.

Personal characters-wise, I hate having so much stuff up in the air.

The words Aurene used would absolutely be what Aurelia needed to hear, especially after adjusting to things post-Gyala. Rough, but doable at this point in time, since she's got her family and a lot of friends. No idea about my Herald of Aurene, Ethanryel, who is pretty much in the same position as Caithe, but Aurene's words would have been for them too so they may be more or less active depending on where the story goes.

For the expansion, Aurelia has tons of potential, especially if anything relates to what actually happened to her in the Mists (the story is technically written already, but I'm ready to change to more lore-compliant stuff and fill in the intentional mysteries if the shoe fits). As for others, again it depends on where the story goes in general. Most of my characters have taken advantage of the lulls in world-ending threats to live their own lives, so they might be out of the picture, but some might have big reasons to return to the active storyline if their "thing" is relevant (and I'm so hoping to give more canon attention to some).
