Hey Everyone! So now that I officially have the first draft written, I am excited to share with you all that I am creating a childrens book this year called... "Toni, the Punk Rock Opossum!" (don't act so surprised 😆) It will be a short tale of how Toni became a "Punk Rock Opossum", and it will be told in the style of a rhyming song! ♥️ This project is a HUGE deal for me and I am going to be giving it everything I have. I have decided to self publish this one so that I can stay true to my original characters and concept. Over the next several months, you will probably see a lot more of this little dude and his bandmates pop up as I fine-tune the characters, environments and compositions.
If the idea of having a children's book about a Punk Rock Opossum excites you too, there are a few ways you can help in making this dream come true!
1. Consider buying work from my shop! Really as simple as that. Since this is a business endeavor, any money I make this year will be helping me in paying for the printing and promoting.
2. Coming later this year, I am planning on releasing some limited edition stickers of Toni and the rest of the "Trash Goblins" as a way to help promote the book and crowd fund.( I will be selling these on my Ko-Fi page and will definitely let you all know when those go up)
3. Like, Share and Talk about it with your buddies! :D As I continue to flesh out these pages and characters, I will be sharing some sneak peeks with you all. I would be thrilled if this can become something others get excited about too! In a world where there are billions of children's books, I'm hoping to create something that hits a special place in your hearts.
Welp! Thats it for now. If you have read. this far, thank you so much for following my page and helping me make my dreams come true ♥️
Also, as I post this little opossum and his friends, I welcome and ENCOURAGE feedback and constructive criticism regarding the styles and changes I toy with.
Anyway, here is my Linktree if interested:

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7
 *Alarm rang*
“Ugh..” You extended your arm to turn off the alarm on the bedside table.
You felt tired even though you had slept for 7 hours. You rubbed your eyes and sat on the bed. Suddenly, you felt your stomach sick. You rushed to the bathroom, opened the toilet lid and threw up. Joel heard you and followed you to the bathroom.
“You okay?” Joel held your hair up.
“I don’t know.” You coughed.
You gagged and threw up again. Joel’s other hand rubbed your back in circles to help you feel better.
“Don’t look. It’s disgusting.” You rubbed your chest.
“Hey..In sickness and in health, remember?” Joel insisted on staying.
You nodded, stood up and flushed the toilet. You went to the sink and brushed your teeth.
“Why don’t you take a day off? Get some rest.” Joel cupped your cheeks.
“Yeah. I’ll take a sick leave.” You walked to the door.
“Where are you goin’?” Joel stopped you.
“I need to make breakfast for you and Sarah.”
“I’ll take over this morning. Why don’t you get back to bed and get some sleep? I’ll bring your breakfast over.” Joel guided you back to the bed.
“Thank you.” Joel tucked you in.
Joel went downstairs and made you breakfast.
“Hey..” Joel stroked your head gently, waking you up.
You opened your eyes and Joel was sitting beside you with a tray of your breakfast.
“You need to eat.” Joel put the tray on the bedside table.
“I don’t think I can eat now. I’m still feeling nauseous. I’ll eat later. Thank you.”
“But don’t skip your meal, okay?”
“Hmm.” You nodded.
“I’m runnin’ late. I’ll be headin’ to work. Call me if you need anythin’ alright?” Joel kissed your forehead and left.
You slept for a few hours and got up by lunch time. Despite getting more sleep, you still felt fatigued. You ate half of the breakfast Joel made for you and washed the dishes. You opened the fridge to keep the leftovers.
“Oh my God.” You covered your nose as you couldn’t stand the smell.
You felt sick again and ran to the bathroom throwing up the food you just ate. You wondered why you were sick. Was there something wrong with the food you ate yesterday? But Joel and Sarah were fine so it must be something else. You kept thinking and thinking. Then you realized your period was late. You checked the calendar and found you had missed your period for two months. You looked in the mirror and looked at yourself. You realized your breasts were swollen and you gained a bit of weight.
“Oh my God. Am I-? This can’t be right.” You gasped and rushed to the drugstore to buy 5 pregnancy tests.
You went home right away and took the tests. You were shaking while waiting for the tests.
“Please, please, please.” You folded your hands praying the tests would come out positive.
Three minutes went by, you closed your eyes and took a stick. You opened your eyes and saw a positive sign. You gasped and quickly grabbed the other sticks. It all came out positive.
“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” You cried in happiness and rubbed your lower belly.
You wanted to call Joel and share the news but you hesitated. You wanted to tell him face to face so you decided not to call him. You texted him instead.
You: What time will you be home?
Joel: Probably by dinner time. As usual.
You: OK. I’ll make dinner tonight.
Joel: OK. Everything alright?
You: Yep
You couldn’t wait for Joel to be home. You were so excited so you went to the kitchen and started preparing dinner. Even though the smell of different kinds of food made you feel sick, you tried your best in making the dinner special.
“Hey mom, feeling better?” Sarah just got home from school.
“Oh hi sweetie. I’m feeling better, thank you.”
“Need some help?” Sarah offered to help you.
“Yes actually, can you help me cut the onions, please?” You passed the onions to Sarah.
7 pm
“I think your dad is running late.” You and Sarah had waited for one hour and Joel hadn’t arrived home yet.
“Maybe we should just eat.” Sarah started eating and you ate too.
10 pm
You kissed Sarah goodnight and went to the living room. You checked your phone and still no text from Joel. So you decided to wait for him and turned on the TV. You yawned multiple times and were getting sleepy. It was unusual because you usually stay up until midnight but the pregnancy was making you feel tired all the time. You forced yourself to open your eyes but you finally fell asleep unconsciously.
12 pm
Joel was finally home. He opened the door slowly trying not to make any sound. He saw the TV was on and walked to the living room finding you were asleep on the sofa.
“Hey, baby.” He rubbed your arms gently.
“Oh, You’re home.” You yawned.
“Did you wait for me?” He looked guilty. You nodded.
“How are you feelin’?” He moved your legs and put them on his lap.
“Better.” You smiled.
“I’m sorry I’m late. The concrete guys were-” Joel wanted to explain but you cut him off.
“Shh. It’s fine. Did you eat?” The fact that he missed his meal worried you more.
“Ate with the guys.” He felt even more guilty and rubbed your feet.
“Great. By the way, I have something for you.” You got excited.
“I let you down and yet you got me a present?” He smiled and kissed you.
“Uh-huh. Close your eyes. Give me your hand.”
Joel did what you told him. You grabbed one of the positive pregnancy tests you hid in your pocket and put it on his palm.
“Okay. Open your eyes.” You smiled so wide you couldn’t hide your teeth.
“What is-You’re pregnant?!” Joel opened his eyes slowly and saw what was in his hand.
“Yeah, I think I’m pregnant.” You nodded.
“Baby, I-” Tears streamed down his face and he couldn’t finish his sentences. He pulled you closer, hugged you tightly and stroked the back of your head.
“Thank you, baby.” He kissed your temple and you cried with him.
“You’re going to be a mom!” He held your shoulder and shook you.
“Shh. Sarah’s asleep. I haven’t told her yet.” You laughed and told Joel to calm down.
“She’s gonna be so excited to have a sibling. Let’s tell her first thing in the morning tomorrow.” Joel rested your head to his shoulder.
“I was thinking maybe we could go to the doctor first. Just to make sure.” You didn’t want to disappoint Sarah if the tests were wrong.
“Okay, sure. Anythin’ you want.” Joel hugged you once again.
“I’ll take a day off tomorrow and go with you.” Joel moved his thumb up and down stroking your hand.
Joel suddenly stood up and carried you bridal style. You gasped.
“I’m not gonna let you move a muscle from now on. I can’t let you work so you’ll need to quit your job. You’ll be working on carrying our baby. I can’t let you work a double.” He smiled and carried you to the bedroom.
“You’re so sweet.” You chuckled.
He laid you down gently on the bed and kissed your forehead.
“I’m gonna take a shower real quick and join you in the bed.”
You were already asleep when Joel finished taking a shower. You gasped and looked down when you felt a movement on your feet.
“What are you doing?” You saw Joel putting wool socks on your feet.
“You need to keep your feet warm, sweetheart.” He continued putting the socks on you and rubbed your feet to keep them warm.
“What did I do to deserve you, Joel?” The hormones were making you cry at his actions.
“Hey, why are you crying?” Joel climbed beside you and pulled you to his chest.
“I don’t know. I just love you so much.” You sobbed.
“I love you too, baby.” Joel kissed your head.
At the hospital
The next morning you and Joel went to the hospital to see an obstetrician. You were shaking while waiting in the waiting room.
“Hey, you okay? You’re shaking.” Joel held your hand to calm you.
“I’m fine. I’m just nervous. It’s my first time.”
“It’s okay, baby. I’m here.” He rubbed your back in circles.
You nodded and rested your head on his shoulder.
“Mrs. Miller?” The nurse called your name.
“That’s us.” Joel held your hand and walked to the exam room.
“Good morning. What brings you in today?” The doctor asked as the two of you sat on the chair in front of her.
“I’ve been feeling fatigued and nauseous lately. I took a test yesterday and it came out positive. We want to make sure we’re pregnant.” You took a deep breath.
“Okay, please lay down here and we will take a look.”
You raised your clothes and unbuttoned your jeans. The doctor poured cold gel on your lower stomach and you flinched. Joel took your hand to his and you squeezed his hand.
“Okay, let’s see. Hmm..” She moved the transducer on your stomach.
“Okay. You see here. This is your baby. Congratulations, you're 7 weeks pregnant.” She wiped the gel on your stomach.
“Oh my God.” You chuckled and cried. Joel kissed your hands.
“I’ll give you some time alone.” The doctor left the exam room.
“We’re gonna need another bedroom, baby.” You rubbed Joel’s arms.
“Don’t worry about it.” Joel assured you.
“Just focus on staying healthy. That’s what matters the most.” He rubbed your hand.
“I love you.” You gave him a kiss.
“I love you more.”
The doctor entered the room after giving you and Joel a moment.
“Okay, so I’ll give you some vitamins. You can get it at the pharmacy downstairs. And here is the sonogram. I printed a few so each of you can have one. I’ll see you next month. Again, congratulations.” The doctor smiled and shook you and Joel’s hands.
“Thank you, doctor.” Joel and you thanked her and walked your way out.
Joel took the sonogram picture and couldn’t stop looking at it. He was more excited than you thought.
“You need to stop looking at it.” You chuckled.
You were already in the car for sometime and Joel still hadn’t started the car.
“Do you think it’s gonna be a girl or a boy?” Joel looked at you.
“Hmm..We have Sarah, so a boy?” You raised your eyebrows.
“Right. I don’t want to be left alone. Sarah’s gonna be so excited.” Joel couldn’t wait to tell Sarah that she was going to be a big sister.
“Let’s go home, Joel.” Joel put the sonogram picture in his wallet and started the car.
“Do you want something you want to eat? We can stop by somewhere before we head home.” Joel wanted you to eat a lot especially now he knew you were carrying his baby inside you.
“Hmm..Pizza?” You squinted your eyes.
“Okay, mama.” He drove slowly as he didn’t want to hurt you and his baby.
At home
“Where were you guys?” Sarah was confused as the two of you came home.
“Uhm.. We went to get some pizza.” Joel closed the door.
“Without me?” Sarah was getting upset.
“Sarah, sweetie, we need to tell you something.” You asked her to sit on the sofa.
The three of you sat in the living room. Your heart was beating faster and you took a deep breath.
“So..we’re pregnant.” You couldn’t find the words so you just told Sarah the main point.
“What? So does that mean-” Sarah's jaw dropped.
“Yes, babygirl. You’re gonna have a sibling.” Joel added and passed the sonogram to Sarah.
“Are you serious? That’s awesome! I gotta tell my friends!” Sarah got too excited.
Joel buried you and Sarah to his chest. The three of you laughed in happiness and had a family hug.

Joel eased into the chair next to you under the pergola he built 25 years ago. It was still sturdy and spoke to Joel’s craftsmanship. The sun was beginning to set, granting some relief to the spring heat as you watched your three grown children clean up the backyard. They’d insisted the two of you relax.
Emma graduated from Duke last weekend with honors in Pre-med. Which meant traveling to North Carolina for the ceremony. Joel has insisted on driving up. He hated flying. With a 20-hour car ride one way, you caught up on a lot of reading and almost booked yourself a plane ticket home. The two of you had been gone for almost a week. So her graduation party took place this weekend at home. She’d been accepted into UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine and would be going back to Durham in a couple of weeks. She was officially moving out, boxes already stacked high in her room. You and Joel both chose not to think about your baby leaving the nest for good.
Emma laughed at something Asher said. You couldn’t see Sarah roll her eyes, but you knew by her body language. Joel chuckled next to you. He sensed it too, both in tune with your children.
Asher graduated with a Bachelor's in Engineering from UT-Austin a few years ago, choosing to stay close to home. He had a small apartment in town working at Miller Construction since graduation. Joel joked that if he didn’t put his degree to use soon, he was gonna have to rebrand as Miller and Son. You had a sneaking suspicion that’s what Asher wanted. He and Joel shared the same love of building things with their hands.
“Grandpa!” Sarah’s 3-year-old daughter, Jessie bounded across the yard, dark curls bouncing like springs behind her. You could see the brightly colored book in her grasp.
She panted heavily as she reached the two of you. Her small hands rested on Joel’s knees. She looked up through dark lashes. “Will you read this to me?”
Joel smiled. She reminded you so much of Sarah at her age. “Don’t you want grandma to do it? She’s a much better reader than me.”
“No, you!”
“Okay, Okay.” Joel chuckled, pulling the child onto his lap. You closed your eyes as you listened to Joel read. His drawl had only deepened with age but it still flowed like honey. It soothed your weary bones and often brought you through time, making you feel 25 again.
Sarah had started college at the University of Georgia but transferred to UT-Austin after her freshman year. She loved Georgia, but she missed being close to her family more. She’d earned her Bachelor's in Journalism and Creative Writing (also with Honors). Working across all aspects of journalism, she went back to get her MFA several years later. She worked freelance for several publications and taught a creative writing class at the community college in town. She’d married Mike 6 years ago. They’d been together since senior year of college aside from a one-year gap. They’d bought a house just down the street from you and Joel soon after their wedding. Jessie’s 4th birthday was next week, and aside from her husband, you were the only other person to know that Sarah was 8 weeks pregnant. They were planning to reveal it next on Father’s Day.
You and Sarah were convinced Joel didn’t have a clue. The two of you were desperate to surprise him. Other than his 45th birthday party, you and Sarah hadn’t been able to surprise Joel in the 31 years you’d loved him. He’d even figured out Sarah’s first pregnancy before they’d told anyone.
Joel continued to read. The world drifted further away only anchored by the sound of his voice. Sometimes a bird’s song drifted in and out. The warm breeze floated across your skin. Joel’s voice stayed constant.
“Grandpa… Shhhhh, grandma is sleepin.”
Joel looked up from the book. He smiled. The wrinkles around his eyes were well-defined now. “I think she’s just restin her eyes, kiddo.”
“That’s what you say when you’re sleeping!” Jessie giggled.
“Keep reading,” you said, keeping your eyes closed. “The story was just getting good.”
He looked at Jessie who nodded her head, and he continued.
The construction business had been good to Joel. Miller Construction kept its outstanding reputation throughout the years, something Joel worried about as the number of crews grew and his ability to check up on every job decreased. Joel spent most of his days on job sites in a supervisory capacity. He trained the new hires to meet his rigid standards, and his body took less wear and tear. He was able to spend more quiet morning moments with you. At 56 years old, he was still the best pitcher in the men’s rec softball league. He took every Thursday morning off to hang out with Jessie while Sarah taught her class at the Community College. He piddled in the garage on weekends, working on the next project. He’d just redone the kitchen cabinets. Tommy joked that Joel lived in partial retirement, but there was some truth to it. You liked seeing him take time
Joel finished the book as Sarah and Mike walked over. You slowly opened your eyes, letting the world envelope you once again.
“It’s time for us to go home, Bear,” Mike said.
Before Jessie could issue a complaint, Joel pulled her into a back-breaking squeeze. She laughed. He tickled her sides. “Grandpa!”
“I gotta make sure you meet your tickle quota.”
“I have! I have!” Jessie laughed, her cheeks turning red.
“Okay,” Joel let out a deep breath. “I think that’s enough for today.”
Jessie wrapped her arms around Joel’s neck, kissing his cheek. “Love you, Grandpa!”
“I love you too.” He kissed her cheek, patting her back. “I’ll see you on Thursday.”
Jessie slid off his lap, rushing to you. A chorus of goodbyes between parties rose in the corner of your backyard in hugs and handshakes. Jessie nestled into her father’s arms, eyes already beginning to droop.
Joel wrapped his arms around you. You leaned into him. His hands traveled down your back, lips finding yours. You grinned feeling warm and giddy. Even after all these years, he still had the same effect on you.
Gagging noises interrupted your moment. Asher and Emma stood on the porch directing said sounds at you.
“Get a room!”
“We don’t want to see that!”
Joel flipped them off before firmly grabbing your ass making a show of the steamy kiss he planted on you. You laughed. He kissed your neck softly.
“You’re gonna traumatize the kids.”
“They’re grown adults. They can leave.” He nuzzled into your neck. “I want to kiss my wife in our backyard.”
“Y’all are gross.” Asher chided.
“If it weren’t for us, you two wouldn’t be here,” Joel shouted back.
“You say that like it’s a good thing!” Emma responded. “Have you seen the world?”
“Hey,” You laughed. “You’re the saving grace of this family, Miss I’m going to be a doctor.”
Asher scowled. “Don’t say that. Her head will get bigger than it already is.” He ruffled Emma’s hair.
Emma rolled her eyes. “We’re done cleaning up. We’ll leave you two to do… that.” She motioned toward you and Joel. “Asher’s gonna take me out on the town.”
“Make smart decisions,” Joel called.
“Always!” Emma smiled.
The duo filed out of the backyard leaving you and Joel alone. Joel kissed your forehead as you swayed to a nonexistent tune.
When you finally stopped, you and Joel sought the respite of AC inside. Joel prepared a plate of leftovers for the two of you to share on the couch. You read as Joel watched the Baseball game on low volume. You propped your feet on his lap. His thumbs found the soles of your feet applying pressure. You hummed.
You had stepped down from your position at Miller Construction after Emma started high school. As much as you loved working with Joel and helping him build and expand the business, desires drew you elsewhere. You started working part-time at the public library. When their head librarian announced plans to retire, the city had offered to pay for you to get your Masters in Library Science providing you could give them a 10-year commitment. Daunting at first, you’d managed to complete the courses in 2 years via an online program. You work at the library full-time now. Joel often brought Jessie in on Thursday mornings along with a coffee for you. You tended to the garden on weekends. Joel replaced your raised beds a few years ago. You had the kids over for dinner once a week. You and Sarah walked the block on pleasant evenings. You spent lazy evenings on the couch with Joel, something that had rarely been a part of your marriage until the past few years.
“I’ve been thinking…”
You looked up from your book. “Uh oh, that’s never good.”
He tickled the bottom of your foot earning a squeal. Everyone talked about growing out of being ticklish. That had never happened to you. “I think it’s probably time to refinish the book nook.”
You glanced behind you, eyes trailing over the bookshelves Joel had built you more than 25 years ago. They’d been through it. The finish was peeling in a few places. The cabinet doors that lined the bottom were dented and scratched from a number of things bumping and running into it while raising 3 kids. You glanced at the farthest one, still stained with faint marks from Emma taking Sharpies to it when she was 3. Residue from stickers marked other areas.
“Sounds like a big project.”
“I’ve got the time.” Joel smiled.
He reached down beside him, revealing a gift bag. A simple brown paper bag with a gold ribbon neatly tied and curled. Sarah’s trademark. He handed it to you with a smile.
“This from you or Sarah?”
“Me.” Joel crinkled his nose. “Just asked Sarah to wrap it for you.”
You lifted the bag up and down. It felt like it was probably a book. It rarely wasn’t. “And what is this for?” You smiled at him.
“Just fulfilling my husbandly duties.”
You laughed as you untied the ribbon. Joel had taken your first line to him like an oath over the course of your relationship. He’d surprised you with a new book at random times. Sometimes you came home to one on the kitchen counter or your nightstand. Other times, wrapped or handed to you, each with an inscription detailing something he loved about you and how “Pretty” didn’t cut it.
You smiled at him, pulling a hardcover book out of the bag. You opened the front cover. A piece of paper slipped out. Before you could investigate, Joel’s handwriting caught your attention.
I don’t know if you’ve been counting, darling, but this is the 100th book I’ve given you. When I met you in that bar, I knew if I had the chance to give you just one, I’d be the luckiest man alive.
We always talked about going on a big trip for our 25th wedding anniversary. I know it’s a little bit late, but I booked us on that trip to Italy you were eying last year.
I’m sure it’ll be beautiful, but I still think the best view is you.
I love you, Darling.
You picked up the slip of paper: the booking confirmation set for mid-September. You looked up at Joel, tears blurring your vision.
He chuckled. “Surprise.”
You set the book carefully on the end table, moving onto Joel’s lap. “You hate flying.”
“But I love new places.” He kissed your nose. He still looked at you like you hung the galaxy. You imagined you looked at him the same. “And you.”
You kissed him, the words whispered for just the two of you. “I love you too.”

🥳Photogirl894's "Sun and Rain" Fanfic Three Year Celebration!!🥳
As of today, it has now been THREE whole years since I started writing and posting "Sun and Rain", my Bad Batch fanfic and love story between Hunter and my OC, Kimber!
Crazy how time flies when you're having fun, right?? 😆
I've added a bit more to my story since last year and I'm insanely happy with how it's progressing! This year, the story continued on through events of season one of the Bad Batch (a little slower than I had hoped for, but progress is progress) and there was lots of angst, but also lots of good moments. We're officially halfway through season one! With the show ending this year, it got my thoughts turning more to how Kimber's story would go throughout season three and I think a lot of you will like what I have planned in the future. There's still a lot more to come and at least we know that there's gonna officially be a happy ending 🥰 (Though, I would've had that happen no matter what, but now, I don't have to break canon to get it!)
A huge thank you to everyone on my taglist as well as those who are currently reading my fic! I've gained a few more loyal readers and it makes me so happy! Your guys love, support, comments and messages are what keep me going! 😊

To celebrate the three year anniversary of "Sun and Rain", I would absolutely love to talk about the story with my readers again like I did the last couple years, especially since I've gained a few new readers in that time and I honestly think it's a lot of fun! 😊 I want to know some things you guys like about it so far and I'm curious if anyone has questions for me about it, so once again, I have a list of things anyone can send to me in my ask box: things you can tell me from your own perspective or things you can ask me personally! (For those who may be reading and aren't caught up all the way yet, there most likely will be spoilers, so you've officially been warned 😅)

9. What you'd like to see later on in the story (and maybe I'll tell you if it'll happen)
10. Your theories for "Sun and Rain" and where it's going to go
Ask me...
1. Anything you want to know about my OC, Kimber (within reason) or my Koriena Force girls (Lex, Kida and Irys. Any questions about Rina will be directed to @l-lend since she belongs to her)
2. What was my inspiration for (insert scene/chapter)?
3. What was my inspiration for (insert certain line/paragraph)?
4. What chapter am I most proud of?
5. What certain lines am I most proud of?
6. What was my favorite moment(s) to write?
7. What was my least favorite moment(s) to write?
8. For a hint of upcoming chapters/events and how Kimber's role might change certain things (if you want to know about particular upcoming events from the show, please specify)
9. For a sneak peek into future scenes I already have written (though it's mostly dialogue and I only have a couple, so I can only do this a certain number of times)
10. Anything else you want to know from me about "Sun and Rain" or my experience writing it thus far
I look forward to talking about this with all of you! And stay tuned for another fun surprise later today! 🥰 I love you all so much!!

Hi hey hi so
I just finished your Electric Organisms fic series on ao3 and i just wanted to express some sentiments towards your work "^^
1. The fics are so damn good aaa it infected my brain so much i would regularly tell my best friend all about it even though she doesnt watch star trek
2. The fact you dug up unused scenes and scripts and wrote them into fics is so damn cool!! Also may i ask where you found those?
3. Your character writing is so well done, i was so disappointed they didnt explore Geordis personality more in the show. I love that you went into his family background and mental health properly also I honestly love that he just gets to be happy a lot of the time, the show constantly made him suffer for some reason
4. The drawings are such a nice addition to the fics and theyre sooo well drawn <3
5. The way u handled the Fajo&Borg queen assualt implications was so well written. Im still angry the movies and show basically dropped the whole thing and never went into what it would do to datas mental state
6. The romance was so well written i cant- i dont usually read romance but maaan was i invested in this one <333
I swear you basically rewrote the entire series while fixing all the shitty parts and making the good parts *sparkly*
Also just the raw amount of stuff you wrote is crazy impressive!!!!
Unrelated your blog is really cool ive been following for a couple of months or so and it delights me whenever you show up on my dash.
Anyways you're a great writer and artist and i hope my ramble could express that your work is very very appreciated :)
Thanks so much for telling me all this! It does indeed make me feel warm and fuzzy. 🥰
The full series link if anyone else is interested.
While I have written the start and end points for the series, there are still more ideas I'm going to write for it, so stay tuned.
1- That's a huge compliment.
2- It's great to find those little nuggets that were cut out from final script to aired episode for whatever reason. You can read them at Star Trek Minutiae.
3- I like to think I've watched too much TNG to get them too wrong in character 😜. I would've definitely appreciated more Geordi episodes.
4- Thank you. In addition to a fic list, I also have an art list, and DaForge is taking up most of it 😅
5- I'm glad you think so. I don't really blame the show for that, since mostly "one-and-done" episode stuff was the overall structure of shows in that time. A few character things get mentioned or used later, but not everything.
6- The boys deserve a well-written romance 😊It's great to know you think I'm achieving that.
Believe me, I'm also surprised how much I've written for this series since I started it in June 2022. I didn't expect a one-shot fic that came from Brent Spiner saying he much rather would've found Geordi instead of Spot in the Enterprise-D wreck to have led to all this.
It's nice to know you think I'm cool enough to follow on here 😜
Thank you again for saying all this. I'm glad you really like this series.

Fanfic ask game!
Hey sosaaaaa so here’s something I have for youuuu! 💻 and ⏰
ask game found here ! HI LOVE ! i am extremely sorry that i am replying to this so late :(( hectic last few days but now i finally have time to answer all my beautiful asks <3 thank u for stopping by to participate in the tag game !!
💻 -> i think this question is really interesting and am excited to answer DFJDFJHJD. the short is YES. i do conduct research for all of my fics, even drabbles i do a little searching here and there for basic stuff, to fact check something, have a character's voice play on a loop so i can get a "feel " for them, or gain inspiration on how to go about executing the ideas i have. the deepest dive for a fic i have ever done....hmm there are a few of them in mind. the first one that comes to mind is one i have is this fic about uryū ishida called spellbound, and it's a bridgerton au + royal au. this is one of the fics that required the most research because it's in an au that doesn't even exist anymore/don't have enough knowledge about so i had to research victorian + regency era language, customs, vocabulary, the names for their clothing, architectural terms, and even looking up visuals for the setting because of the world building that i'm doing. butttt despite all this, the fic will turn out great (i think) so stay tuned!!!
another fic i had to do ample research for was for this multichap series for sasuke i had planned called koi no yokan, which isn't posted on here yet but i will post it later. it's main platform will be ao3 tho :) for this it was more so doing research on sasuke's relationship with other people, sakura in particular (for reasons i don't want to reveal yet bc i want it to be a surprise) and it takes place when they're adults (boruto era). i also had to look up stuff about jutsu techniques because i made some things up, and geographical stuff.
one last example: it's for another up and coming idea i have for leone abbacchio called legend of the enchanted forest (name subject to change) and it's a medieval au so for similar reasons like spellbound, i wanted to do research on knights and their rankings, the royal courts, mythical creatures, etc.
⏰ -> it fluctuates fr ! i would say i read and write fics in equal amounts (which isn't as much these days as it used to, but i'm getting back in my jam) but there are times i find myself reading more because....well i don't always have the energy or time to write like how i REALLY want to everyday soooo i just settle to read :)

BNHA self insert AU [Book 3]
New? Read here! Then here!
Chapter 9: Hurricane Katrina? More Like Hurricane Tortilla!
Wish I were thriving in this whole situation by now but it’s been two weeks of dorming and I want my mommy to make my lunches. But I’m just droning on and counting down the days until I can go home.
-Thursday, Hero class-
“...And since Iida-kun isn’t going to be in the Sports Festival” sensei turned toward me “You may sit out of this activity.”
“Can I go to the dorms?”
“No”
“Can I go to the nurse?”
Sensei sighed stressfully “Sure, but you’re not allowed to leave campus!”
I start to hover myself and my school bag “Yay! Later bitches!” I cried out weakly before leaving to the nurses office. I’ve been meaning to go to the nurse but I’ve just been so swamped with all my school work that I hardly have the time!
“Oh? What brings you to my office Iwata?” asked Nurse Eri when I walked in.
I set myself down and sighed “Honestly, I feel like I’ve been ran over by a bulldozer.”
“Come take a seat here” she points at an empty cot “Have you been sleeping enough? Drinking enough water? Diet changes?”
I think about it as she was taking my temperature “Oh jeez, I haven’t been doing any of those things, my diet has defiantly changed.”
She checks my eyes “You are showing signs of fatigue, hmm” she gets up to get something out of her files “Okay, when was your last depressive episode?”
“Uhhhh, not sure” I wasn’t sure since I’m also losing track of the days “a week ago?”
She scribbled something on her clipboard “Okay...When was the last migraine?”
“Never had a migraine” That I did know, but why that question?
“Good to hear....mood swings?”
“None”
“..Rate your quality of sleep 1-5, 5 being the best.”
“A 2.75, I don’t sleep more than 5 hours a night in a weekday” I added because I know they’d want an elaboration “On weekends I try to sleep more but at best I get 6 hours. Occasionally I get a nap.”
“Is this your dorm sleep schedule?” she asked looking up from her writing.
“Yes, at home I get more sleep.”
She puts her pen into her coat pocket “I have to say that, without going into other parts of this sheet, but it seems like you’re experiencing burn-out.”
I watch her get the head sensors “Burn-out?”
“It happens to everyone but it’s dangerous for telekinesis users” she said flipping on the machine “Instead of dampering your powers, it enhances them at a deadly rate.” The machine starts to blip “It looks like you aren’t in the danger zone yet, thankfully. What’s the biggest stress factor now that you’re away from home?”
I sneered “More like, what isn’t a stress factor!” I paused a moment to think of a serious answer “I’d say the workload. Being in two programs is double the homework and I barely get them done in time. Second would be the whole cooking myself food for the day, AND BEFORE YOU SAY JUST EAT SCHOOL FOOD, I’m picky.”
Eri sighed and put her clipboard down “Look, I’m probably not supposed to say this, but that’s what I was afraid of.” She made sure nobody was in the doorway “You’re the first student in this school that’s doing dual program enrollment and they don’t know how to adjust for your needs.”
That was unexpected “What do you mean?”
“The school is just winging it with your education, BUT with this apparent stress ailment with your quirk, we can lessen your workload and other parts of your daily routine” She explained “They have too.”
“Is it because of my mom?” I asked seeing how that’s usually the case.
“In a way, she was the first telekinesis user to attend this school and her needs alone had the school district change the way they do accommodations” They reached for the clip board “And that’s on top of being a donor and credible alumni, the school bends to her will when she isn’t happy with something. She cares so much about youth in hero education because of her experience.” A smile spread on her face “You know, your mom solved a case that involved my abuser when I was a child. If it wasn’t for her, I’d still be under heavy security and not realize my purpose or go to hero school. She paid for my schooling actually! So I’m incredibly thankful for her, wish she’d let us publicly praise her but she declines. There isn’t enough words or gifts in the world that can express how gracious I am, so the best I can do is serve others like she’d serve them.”
“I didn’t know she did all that for you” I was moved by her words “Did you think that you’d be treating her children?”
She stopped her scribbling “No, I always thought you’d lead different lives. But I guess even she didn’t know that it was going to be like this.”
Leaning back into the cot to rest my head “Mind if I just nap here?”
“You may, I’ll make sure you wake up when school lets out.”
I drift to sleep, but it wasn’t a peaceful sleep. Somehow I got this very vivid nightmare of fire everywhere and this tall figure grabbing me by the neck, chanting ‘We could’ve ruled this place together!’ and every-time was more distorted. The deranged eyes froze me and gasping for air, but then a sound like a gunshot rang out that woke me up. I sat up quickly and checked myself to make sure I was okay and that I just had a nightmare. By then it was after school, so I just left. The whole walk to the dorm had me thinking if I seen that thing in my nightmare. One would remember something so terrifying! Or maybe it’s a prediction and I’m gonna get hit with deja vu later?
“Hey, what do you want for dinner?” ask Beizu as I entered the room “It’s my turn to cook.”
“Oh uhhh hamburg steak?” I answered, taking off my uniform “I believe we have enough meat for everyone.”
“That might actually work” he said, getting up from his bed “What are you going to do?”
I give a sigh “Do homework and try to sleep early for once.”
Beizu left the room and I was left alone with my mountain of work. Upon finishing the easy stuff, I glanced over to the calendar... oh shit, my birthday is this weekend! How could I forget my own birthday?! I’m turning 17. No plans or (lets be real) time to do anything to celebrate. Wack! Wonder what my mom did on that day her 3rd year? It’s a good hour until dinner, I have time to do a little snooping. Beizu did say the cube had improvements done, so here it goes!
The room changes into her candy colored aesthetic, and on a bean bag chair was a young Mr Hitoshi and Mom.
“Mmm Hitoshi~” she softly moaned, eyes closed “I wish you could stay longer.”
“It’s almost lights out” He said checking his phone “I’m sure it won’t be a problem if I’m a little late. I’m getting “tutored” by the prettiest and smartest girl in school~”
“Shut up!” Mom playfully hits him “You flatter me too much.”
“It’s true, don’t blame me that I compliment you every chance I get” He holds her tighter “Everyone wants a piece of you but I feel so blessed that I have the entire world that’s you.”
She turns red and nuzzles herself into his chest “If you say so, I love you.”
“You’re amazing kitty~”
Her expression changed to disappointed “Hitoshi, can you just call me by my name?”
“Hm? You don’t like kitty?” he asked, looking down at his chest
“It’s not that I don’t like it, I just prefer if you’d call me Ita” she looked back at him “Please?”
“Or do you prefer I call you my baby~”
She crinkled her nose “No, just Ita.”
“Aw but I want to call you something special, how about... Love~”
“Ita”
“Babe~”
“Ita”
“My cheeto puff~”
“Creative, but just call me Ita”
“I GOT IT! How about, My world~”
She had enough and just teleported him away. Leaving her slumped on the bean bag chair, she fixed herself so she was sitting properly on it, looking up.
She exhaled “What am I doing?” she said to herself “I wish you’d love me Tenya, I’d be so happy” she closed her eyes “If only I would cross the line and just get the rejection part over with.”
The hologram fizzled out and I was left with those emotions. Mom wasn’t happy with Mr Hitoshi, so why stick it out? I wanted to tell her that my dad does love her and to leave Hitoshi, as if I don’t know the outcome already. She was like me, lost and wanted to get things over with to get to the good part. Wish I had people wanting a piece of me like that, then I’d know who’s interested.
-Fast forward to Summer break-
I’ma keep it real chief, nothing interesting happens because it’s just me suffering for weeks at a time and wondering how I’m not collapsing out of exhaustion. Birthday sucked, sports festival was just quirk olympics, I finally figured out how to use most weaponry and Beizu improved the device so now it has pause and fast forward buttons.
But it’s June, I’m just chillin’ until I have to start training for the showcase. We’re hosting a summer bash and I’m on snack duty!
“How the hell did my mom navigate around here in the heat?!” I whined, wiping the sweat off my face “And why is the nearest market on the other side of downtown?!”
“Stop your whining! I thought you wanted to go out” Beizu barked at me “Because you wanted to get things ahead of time.”
“Don’t mock me, I know what I said” I groaned as we crossed the street “Come to think of it, I haven’t been here since that one time I was with Gon in drag. Never really got to see everything here.”
“Oh yea huh? That felt like it was last year” he chuckled “but if you can bear the heat a little more, we can look around.”
We visited the candy store aunty Mimi won’t stop raving about. Then to the organic body store my mom gets all of her skin care from. Some other stores that were fairly new but for the most part, from what my mom recalls, most of the downtown area is the same from when she was at UA. We even dropped in the cafe that my parents had their ‘first date’ at...whatever that means.
“I expected this place to be more packed” Beizu pointed at the wall near the register “they pride themselves to be your mom’s favorite and that your dad loves the berry tart from here. They have their pictures up there for crying out loud!”
“I dunno, maybe it’s a slow day today?” I sipped my iced latte “It’s like, 2pm. Pretty sure everyone would be wanting lunch, not cafe sweets.”
Beizu shrugged as he took a sip of his drink “That makes sense...wonder what your parents meant by ‘first date’.”
I chortle “It’s probably something dumb like they so happened to be here at the same time and just hung out” I thought about it more “Or maybe my dad invited her to some coffee just to get to know her better? He did say he liked her way before she realized her feelings.”
“Then would this be a date?” Beizu joked.
“Depends, are you going to ghost me after graduation and later confess your undying love to me on a beach years from now?” I rolled my eyes and laughed “I’m joking, you wouldn’t hold back something like that, not for that long.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, like, you know what you want and you go for it. If you liked somebody, you’d tell them and not get all flustered. If you wanted something done, you’d do it yourself.” I look at him “You don’t overthink your actions or words, I admire that about you. Wish I could be as confident but I’m just a functioning mess.”
“Iwa, I don’t think you’re a mess” Beizu reassured me “You’re wicked talented and never give up on anything! I could never do dual enrollment, let alone be in A class hero and intel!” He put his hand on mine “And, for what it’s worth, you’re an amazing friend. I can’t think of anyone in the world that could compare, who’d go along with my ideas or go through life’s firsts.”
I look at our hands and turned mine to hold his “If you put it like that, then we’re a team” I squeezed his hand slightly “can’t break a pair if they’re like us.”
He looked away quickly “Hold up, I’m blushing” he cleared his throat “That was cute, what the fuck Iwa.”
“That good? Damn, I should write that one down” I took out my phone to write that down “swear I’m not even trying to be suave!”
“What would you say if you were being suave?” asked Beizu, still coming down from his blushing.
“Well, I guess I would do one of these” I prop my head up with my other hand on the table “Oye amor~ besitos for my one and only, then hit them with one of these.” I brought their hand up to my face for a kiss “Then say, Lets save the intimate kiss for behind closed doors~ I can’t have everyone looking at you when I express my love onto you~”
Beizu was frozen in place, redder than ever “That’s lethal Iwa!” He fanned himself “I feel like I read smut past my bedtime, where did you pick up on that?”
“My mom baby talks to my dad when she wants a kiss” I recall from my youth “He says he doesn’t like the baby talk but he blushes like crazy and gives into temptation to kiss her. Basically my mom takes control with the romantic shit, my dad tries and my mom just goes along with it.”
“I learned that my dad took the lead with the romantic stuff” Beizu added “The device showed the times he’d be tired but still give affection to my mom. He’s such a kiss ass to her” he laughed “Did everything for her around the house, basically a house husband when mom had to go to work on his off days. He even built that swing set in the backyard of my house!” his tone changed “He knew I was in my mom’s tummy before he died, prepped the house and everything even though I was months away from being born. Watching him fix up my room made me feel like he really wanted me and excited to be a dad.” He looked at me “I can only hope that if I become a dad, I’ll experience that same level of excitement.”
“Whatchu mean if you become a dad?!” I hyped “You will be a dad! Of course you will! I can already see them kids with pink hair and twisty bodies running around with toy tools and shit, yelling that they gonna fix things just like daddy.”
Beizu smiled again “You really think so? Will you be there with me?”
“Duh, them kids need friends! I’ll bring my kids and they’ll be friends just like we were” I fantasied, still holding his hand “Can you imagine all those mixed quirks? Our partners are going to hate us for being so chaotic natured! OH imagine if one of our kids marry and making us legally family? How crazy would that be?!”
“I do like the sound of that” Beizu shifted his gaze “Dang this place is starting to get packed!”
I turn around to see the line going out the door “Oh shit, we should zoot then” I got up and felt Beizu’s hand gripping mine “Hmm?”
“Can we hold hands the rest of the way to the market?”
I didn’t think much of this “Sure, but you carry the basket when we get there.”
“Deal” he agreed happily as we left the cafe.
We didn’t take long at the market, I always keep my focus when food shopping. Mom always liked taking me food shopping because I don’t ask for things and remind her to get things like rice and eggs. For being very chaotic natured, grocery shopping is the one thing that I refuse to fuck up! Lili gets distracted and lost in the freezer section, Tensei fights to push the cart and Hanaka will either throw a fit to sit with the food in the cart or will beg for things...after a while, it was just me and mom going food shopping because it was stress free. Thank God that I stuck to those good habits because Beizu is someone that doesn’t check brands before buying something. Wonder if this is how dad feels when things aren’t orderly? Wait, that gives me an idea!
Back at the dorms, I borrow the device and head to Gon’s dorm.
“Iida-kun?! What brings you to my dorm?”
“Gon, I need to borrow your room for like, 20 minutes” I asked up front “I need to check something.”
Gon crossed his arms “Well what’s in it for me?”
“I’ll give you this bag of hot cheetos and Ingenium endorsed canned orange juice” I held out the offer.
“Take as much time as you need!” Gon was wide eyed and took the offer “I’ll be in the commons room, snacking.”
I close the door and lock it, and just in case, I pulled the drapes and stuffed a blanket under the door. I had to see what my dad did when he was denying feelings for my mom. After a few weird moments that I glimpsed into, I finally ran into a scene that made me question things. The date was near the end of the term their 3rd year...
“...I was just wondering if you’d like to come to the carnival?” asked Ita
“...yea let me just get my shoes-” responded Tenya, reaching for their shoes
“Cool! I got my little squad of you, Mimi, Jin, Hitoshi ready to go and-”
“Wait, it’s not just us?”
“Well, no, I wanted to go as a group so I can have one last high school memory with yall before I leave to take my exam in 2 days”
“Then I won’t go if Shinso is going too”
“Why? What’s wrong?” she got suspicious “you’ve been distant lately, did something happen?”
“It’s just that” he tightened his fists “you’ve been hiding things from me like you don’t trust me! How can you call me your friend, chosen family, if you don’t tell me everything?!”
“What are you talking about?!”
“About you and Shinso moving in together!” he raised his voice “do you not trust me with that?”
Now that was some hot tea! Dad raising his voice?! He never got that loud with us, no matter how rowdy we got.
“Well, then maybe we shouldn’t be friends!” he exploded whatever he had pent up.
“Tenya what are you-”
“Put some respect on my name! Last name to address me Palma-san!” he loomed over her with anger in his eyes, clearly not himself.
“Let’s talk this out, please tell me what’s wrong” she pleaded “this isn’t like you and I’m scared, talk to me.”
“There’s nothing to be said here!” he turned to finish packing “leave or I’ll throw you out.”
“I’m not leaving until you tell me what’s wrong!”
“You’ve always been the disobedient one” he picked her up, opened his door and tossed her out like rag doll before slamming his door closed.
I gasped at the sight of my dad having the audacity to not only yell at my mom but to physically throw her out of the room and slam the door. It made my blood boil in anger, how dare he hurt the one person that loved him?! Over her moving in with Mr Hitoshi?! He could’ve easily confessed to her and solved everything! Why did mom forgive this and still married him? If I were mom, I’d fight back and never talk to him again. The hologram fizzled away and that calmed me down to remember that my dad isn’t like that anymore. Maybe that’s why he doesn’t show anger, this was a bad memory that changed the way he treated my mom. I guess even dad had some traumas under that seemingly perfect image. I put everything back the room was before I left.
“Iida-kun! Where are you going?” asked Kage-san “Come join us for game night!”
“Yea! We could use someone to even out the teams” said Gon, sweating over the hot cheetos “Please? You can bring your friend too.”
“I, uhhh, have to go to my dorm for the day” I held up my phone to go along with my excuse “Class rep has summoned me for kitchen duty.”
They waved me off without further questions, which was relieving because I didn’t want to explain why I was there or what I saw. I ran to my dorm to tell Beizu what I found.
“BEI HOLY FUCK!”
He sat up from his bed “What? What did you see?!”
I explained what I saw “...like, I don’t get it! Mom unknowingly wound up a love triangle where my dad and mom clearly loved each other and better for each other. And my mom didn’t like Mr Hitoshi all that much but still went as far as living with him after graduation!”
“That is quite the drama that your dad started” Beizu pulled up his phone “But check this out, in your dad’s file, about 3 days after that date you saw” He held out his phone to show me “Your dad got into a fist fight during school hours with Mr Hitoshi. And the tea about that is that the school pardoned it because this was their first offense and graduation was a few days away to really have an affect.”
I look intensely at the proof “No way! Dad threw the first punch too?! This was serious business, but why couldn’t anyone say anything?!”
“Maybe it was different times” Beizu locked his phone “They were in this war with that villain group. Your mom probably didn’t want to get in your dad’s way, he did have an image to maintain for his family, and she was just a foreigner. There wasn’t time to admit the truth and she just went with Mr Hitoshi as something more realistic?”
“But this is my mom, she’d never settle!” I flop on the bed “You’d never hide things from me, right?”
“Never” He laid next to me.
“You’d point things out if I’m being dumb right?”
He rested his head on my chest “Of course!”
“Good, just making sure” I put my hand on his head “I’d hate to repeat what my parents did.”
“That won’t happen, I promise” Beizu looked up at me “I’d never leave your side.”
“It’s what I look forward to the most” I smile “a future with you, no matter what happens.”
This little moment calmed me down. Being roommates was the best decision ever!
FAST FORWARD TO THE AGENT DISPLAY....not much happened between, just better mental health and getting my agent license I guess? OH! I got a reduction in workload! If I had training in my agent courses, I don’t have to do hero training unless I feel like I can take on the workload that day. And thats on top of getting weekly homework from the hero course instead of daily work. Thank you mom for being so powerful that the school bends to your will without saying anything!
“Hey you killed it out there Iwa!” cried out the class rep as I took off my visor in the changing room “The spectators were in awe of that little flight trick.”
“Not gonna lie, thought I was gonna fuck it up” I wiped the sweat off me “I’ve been holding in a nasty fart the whole time.”
“Ew should I leave?” She gagged as she back away from me.
“Naw, I farted in the wing on my way here” I admitted “I strongly suggest not going that way.”
“YO I THINK SOMETHING DIED IN THE WING!” screamed one of our classmates that ran in “How are you guys not throwing up?! The smell is awful!”
The class rep narrowed her eyes at me “You disgust me, I came here to ask you out for some boba but you’re just another fart boy!”
“I DIDN’T WANT TO FART DURING MY DISPLAY!” I stressed my logic “I’m less confident when I fart in front of people.”
“It’s true” Beizu said, walking out of the bathroom “But what do I know, I’m just a fart boy, huh Gee-san?!”
“Both of you are disgusting fart boys with pretty faces!” huffed the class rep “I’m leaving to the stands! Formation time is in 10 minutes!” She walked out and started gagging loudly.
Come the stage part, I didn’t place in the top or anything, but I got my agent number! It’s 88, and that’s what everyone is going address me as when I’m in the field. None of my family came to see me but that’s a given, theres some shit going down in the real world. Mom feels bad for not coming but I told her that it was okay. I know how important these cases are for her to solve, plus it sort of feels like the reality of all children of agents and heroes, of course your parent isn’t always going to be there for school events! But back to me, I get swarmed with questions from agencies about my quirks and my other combat skills. It got me excited for this part of the training, the internship! Mom told me that she had a hard time choosing since basically every agency gave her an offer. Wonder if it’s going to be the same for me?
-Monday after the agent display, Homeroom-
“Okay, I’m passing back your offers” announced sensei after taking roll “No pressure, but I’ll need your decision by Thursday morning. Also don’t feel bad about the amount of offers your other classmates get in comparison” He stopped at my desk and plopped a dictionary thick packet “Think of it as having an easier time choosing.”
“Wow, that’s thiccc with three c’s!” Beizu commented “Gonna crack that thing open at lunch?”
“Yuh, I didn’t know that many agencies were in attendance that day” I said, feeling the weight of the packet “Didn’t think I was that impressive.”
I spent most of my free time that day reading through the offers, but one stuck out to me. Before I went to bed, I saw an offer from the agency Deku works at. They gave me the offer on the basis of “The order of Sir Nighteye”....What the fuck does that mean?! I’m gonna take it but do they have to be that cryptic?!

thank you for the request <3
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
PEPA
as a toddler you were quite observant
you spent a lot of time with your older sister Dolores, you'd play this game with her, where she'd ask you to tell her a story so she could focus on your voice and practice tuning out other sounds
the game went like this
you had to think of a backstory of a random villager
you were quite good at this, you were able to notice things others didn't pay attention to
and later Dolores would hear some of the town's people and she'd be shocked hearing that most of the things you said were more or less true
when you turned the doorknob, the door glowed and everyone went silent as they awaited for the revelation of your gift
Pepa was basically crushing Félix' hands out of nervousness
the thing that broke the silence was your surprised voice
"Woah... Mom, are you actually gonna puke out of nerves? Not on my dress, please."
Pepa's eyes widened, so did your dad's
Abuela gasped
the villagers started whispering
it wasn't until you said "Mind reading? You really think so Isa?" that the realization started to hit
Pepa almost fainted
the first few weeks of you having your gift were... confusing
your má was stressed, because a power like this could be truly troublesome
it didn't help that everyone immediately noticed the similarities this gift shared with Dolores' or Bruno's
it rained for a whole month after your gift ceremony
Pepa decided to stay in with you in Casita, preparing you for potential problems you may face with your new abilities
but she was expecting to be the one doing the talking
turned out you quickly got a hold of this gift
and seeing your mother so stressed, you decided to cheer her up
because she's your mom and no one wants to see their mom sad
you told her how it's okay to feel things
"má, i actually like it when you make it rain, i like puddles"
"you can say clear skies as much as you want to, but don't feel like it's a necessity"
"oh! mabe we can turn it into a song?"
"má, don't cry. i'll tell you if Cami actually destroyed that vase or not if you smile"
Pepa was so relieved, a rainbow appeared over Casita's roof for the first time in days
as the years went by, you were actually doing great
you and Dolores got really close due to the similar problems that came with your gifts that you had to overcome
so, you, Dolores and Pepa would often hang out just the three of you to gossip
Dolores would say the rumor, you’d add some details and Pepa would comment, all this while drinking coffee and painting each other’s nails
sometimes you’d invite tía Julieta just so she and Pepa could feel like teenagers again
you liked having mind reading mainly because of moments like this
sure, the gift was sometimes overwhelming and like Dolores you had to cover your ears and eyes, especially when in a crowd, but more or less you had it under control
what Pepa was worried about was that you didn't turn out to be like your siblings Antonio and Dolores
you turned out to be more of a mischievous kid, like your brother Camilo
and mind reading proved to be useful when messing with people
"you will bring me that plate of arepas or i'll tell everyone you sometimes rub flowers all over yourself instead of showering, Isa"
sure, you were a little devil
but not to your mom
you used your gift to help her come to terms with the chaos in her head
and she let all the other things slide as long as you kept being the momma's kid that you were
and as long as you let her give you embarrassing kisses all over your face without groaning
JULIETA
when you were little Mirabel would take care of you mainly because you shared a room with her
she played games with you like “guess what number i’m thinking of”
9/10 times you got it right, it was honestly a little scary
when you received your gift, Julieta got scared, just like Pepa
but you were no different than your sisters, you were strong, smart and kind
Julieta knew that you’d use your gift for good and that you’ll be wary with it
what she was afraid of was other people and their reaction to the newest addition to the magical family
Julieta’s anxiety was really bad
see, your gift was hardly a blessing, she couldn’t help but compare you to her brother
the one who ran away
and there was nothing scarier to her than losing one of her children, than losing anyone in her family
she prayed that the mind reading wouldn’t be too much for you and that you’ll be okay
the first few years after getting your gift were hard, you were a little kid with the ability to know what everyone around you is thinking
some people were scared of you and so were some children, you quickly became an outcast among children your age
to be fair, who wanted to play games with a child who’d know your every move?
Julieta was afraid that you’ll grow into a fragile and scared person because of that, she didn’t want you to be lonely, so she would take you by your hand, swinging it back and forth, and take you to the kitchen
sometimes you’d help, sometimes you’d just sit and watch
“má, you already added the salt” you’d sometimes say even though Julieta didn’t say anything
“the spatula is on that counter”
“we had arepas yesterday, let’s make something different tonight”
Julieta always found you adorable while doing this, she would chuckle and ruffle your hair
but if you talked too much, she would stuff an empanada in your mouth
and one time you said this “mamá, i’m not lonely”
Julieta almost dropped the dough she was holding
“i have three older sisters” you continued “and a prima and two primos, also tía Pepa, tío Bruno, tío Félix, pá, abuela… and you”
“that’s like” you stopped to count in your fingers “twelve people! that’s so many, i would honestly be fine with less”
Julieta hugged you and laughed
and with that laugh, all her worries went away
it was true, you had your family who loved you, and just like you, knew the struggles of having a magical gift
who needed normal friends when you had a whole house (and a house itself) full of people like you?
you were close to Dolores, but not because she helps you with handling your power
it was because you were helping her
see, it turned out that all of Julieta’s kids’ main quality was putting others over oneself
you were a bright kid, you quickly figured out how to take full control over your gift
Dolores, despite being older, could only find peace in her soundproof room, you hated seeing her cover her ears, wince when someone would laugh, clap with her index fingers
you taught her how to tune out all the noises
you two would sit in your room, you’d grab Dolores’ hands and you’d start talking
about nothing in particular, maybe about your day or something that Mirabel had done
Dolores’ job was to listen and focus
“and then she fell down into that puddle- see? it’s working!- and her whole skirt was soaked” you said mid-sentence as you noticed Dolores’ mind clear up, your story being the only thing she could think about
Julieta was so proud, but hoped that you’d let yourself be helped as well
and it turned out you would
teenage years were hard for you, especially when you could literally hear all the thoughts the kids your age had
and we know that teenagers’ minds can be dark, weird, disturbing places
you’d spent your time in the kitchen with your mom, like the old times, and you’d talk and talk and talk
and that was how she helped you, with nothing specific, just mother’s love

Word Count: 4000
Warnings: !FATWS SPOILERS!, Cursing, More Mentions of PTSD, Gun Violence, Slight Mentions of Drinking, Club Dancing (You’re all gonna hate me for that part, but I’m not sorry)
A/N: Here’s Part 4.2 - The Second Part to Episode 3 - as requested. This is a little more scene-by-scene, but there are some off-screen moments. I’ll be posting Part 4.3 (which will have the rest of the episode) later tonight.
There’s a bit more information on Reader, but not as much as the last chapter. Sharon comes in during this part, so you get to see her and Reader’s relationship.
Also, I have mixed feelings about Zemo at this point. Not in the story, the Reader’s not a fan as you learned previously, but for me personally, he’s surprised me a couple times by coming back and helping.
Anyways! Thank you so much for reading! This isn’t beta’d so excuse any mistakes! Check out my other parts before you read! Thank you again! Stay tuned, loves!

!SPOILERS UNDER CUT!
The dress was far too tight for your liking, and showed way too much skin. Not that you didn’t like being a tease every once in a while, but for this mission, you’d rather have more cover and movement.
You had to admit though; Zemo had nice taste. The dress fit deliciously - which made you wonder how he got your size. The color and cut was devastatingly flattering. Plus, he let you do your own makeup.
Being the only female, you were in a separate area of the jet getting ready. Once you were done, you made sure to knock, even though you’d walked in on Sam changing too many times to count while on the run and had seen Bucky answer the door in nothing but a towel. It was mainly for Zemo’s sake, just a warning that you were walking in whether or not they were ready.
Damn, girl! You clean up nice!”
You rolled your eyes at Sam, painted lips quirking up as you studied him, shooting him a wink. “You should try a mirror, Sammy.” You turned to Bucky to find him staring wide-eyed and slack-jawed at you. “What do you think, Buck?”
His mouth snapped shut and he cleared his throat, eyes exploring the dips and curves your body. “You…” He blinked once. Twice. His tongue darted out to wet his lips, his intense eyes making you heat up, before he shook his head. “You look good.” He rushed out, before spinning on his heel shoving past Sam who was snickering.
“Where’s Zemo?” You noticed he wasn’t in the main area of the plane when you walked in.
“Rearranging our ride once we get there.”
You huffed, fixing your hair. “Oh God. We’re really doing this.”
“Yup.”
“Okay.” You looked down at yourself before looking up at the boys. “Something’s gonna go wrong, isn’t it?”
“Absolutely.”
“No doubt.”
Giving a slight groan at their simultaneous answers, you nodded. “Let’s try not to screw up too badly, boys, alright? I at least want to live long enough to see Peter graduate.”
Sam rolled his eyes with a scoff. “That kid’s a punk.”
“You’re a punk.” You shot back.
Bucky raised his hand. “I second that punk thing.”
“For which one?”
“Both of them.”
You chuckled as Sam gaped at Bucky, who shrugged innocently. The former assassin tilted his head in your direction to shoot you a grin and a wink, making you laugh more. Shaking your head, you go to make a joke when Zemo walked in.
“It’s time. We’re landing now.”
And just like that, the teasing atmosphere dissipated, leaving you anxious and regretful.
*******************
You walked by Bucky, arm linked with his metal one, listening as Zemo told Sam about his “character” he was to play.
“He’s a known womanizer - always has a gorgeous lady on his arm.” Zemo gestured towards you. “It’s the only way they’d let in a woman.”
“Aren’t we going to see a woman?” You questioned, gently patting Bucky’s metallic bicep when his hold on you tightened.
“Which makes it more imperative that you don’t act threatening. Women don’t make the same mistake men do; they don’t underestimate other women.”
You nodded. He had a point there. Bucky faced you, a frown on those pretty lips. “I don’t like this.” He mumbled.
“You think I do?” You whispered back. “With you being him again? Even if it’s just pretend? And need I remind you whose idea this was?”
“I know, I know. Just…” He sighed. “Promise me you won’t get hurt on purpose.”
Your forehead creased. “Why would I-?”
“To protect people. You always do. And I get it, I do. It’s why you started this in the first place, but…save yourself first, this time, okay?”
“Buck-”
“Promise me.”
It wasn’t often you could see the fear in his eyes, hear it in his voice, but you could then. Unable to do anything else you nodded, a soft, “okay” falling from your lips. He nodded back, pressing a kiss to your head, before letting you go as a car approached.
Bucky helped you in - the heels you were wearing were no joke - before sliding in himself, Sam getting in on the other side of you. “And you two can’t be…” Zemo gestured to the two of you as the car started moving, eyeing your still connected hands. “Doing that.”
“This isn’t my first theater production.” You snapped at him. “We’ll be fine.”
He raised his hands in surrender, turning back to look out the windshield. Once you arrived, you gave Bucky’s hand one last squeeze, before accepting Sam’s hand to get out on his side, linking your arm with his like you were doing with Bucky earlier.
“I finally get to see one of your performances, baby.” Sam grinned at you.
You smirked back. “Best seats in the house, too, Smiling Tiger.” He groaned at your jest, nudging you playfully with his elbow as you giggled.
“This way.” Zemo cut in, jerking his head in the direction you’d be going. You took a breath, steeling yourself, before the three of you nodded at each other and followed his lead.
You found the fellas reactions amusing, their heads turning to study and scan everything they could see. You were more subtle in the way you analyzed your surroundings, feeling a bit more at home in this situation than, say, fighting super soldiers on top of semi trucks.
Your jaw tightened, as did your grip on Sam’s arm, when Zemo started speaking Russian, the four of you pushing through a crowded bar. Sam ran his fingers over your arms, giving your hand a little squeeze, silently reassuring you.
It was a bit obvious Sam hadn’t done much undercover work, put he stayed in character and you were impressed. Especially when the bartender started cutting up the snake, which you had to look away for because if there was one thing you couldn’t do…it was snakes. You nearly gagged when Sam reluctantly downed the drink.
Bucky eyed you, lips pursed in a way you recognized as him trying to hold in a smile. That made you feel a little better, hiding your own smile by turning into the crook of Sam’s neck. “Not. Funny.” He growled through clenched teeth, lips not moving.
“Kinda is.”
He grumbled under his breath, before the two of you tuned into the conversation between Zemo and a thug that came up, learning about the apparent power broker of Madripoor, which you a bit of from your time undercover there.
Sam held you tightly when Zemo turned to Bucky, knowing what was about to happen.
You didn’t like it. You didn’t like how easily aggressive he became. You didn’t like the little smirk Zemo gave as Bucky attacked. You didn’t like the cellphones being pointed in his direction. You didn’t like it.
“Didn’t take much for him to fall back into form.” You gave Zemo a warning glare, a shaky breath leaving you.
He’d been doing so well. At least, for someone who had been through what he had. Especially considering it’d only been a few months since he’d been pardoned - half a year since everyone came back. You knew bringing Zemo on board had been a bad idea, but-
A squeeze to your hand pulled you out of your thoughts. You let out an inaudible sigh of relief as Zemo allowed Bucky to let the man he was choking go.
“Selby will see you now.”
One step down. You hoped that would be the hardest part, but you knew it most definitely wouldn’t be.
“You good?”
Bucky sniffed, giving you two a curt nod, before following Zemo. You bit your lip. “That wasn’t really an answer, was it?”
Sam shook his head. “No. No it wasn’t.”
Selby wasn’t exactly what you were expecting, but you’d come to expect that. You stayed on Sam’s arm, giving the guards coy smiles and playing with the fake nails you had on in faux-boredom.
When she purred at the man besides you, you and Bucky glanced at each other, with you resisting the urge to scrunch up your nose. “And who is this gorgeous creature?”
Your eyes snapped back to Selby, giving her a slightly bashful smile. “Celeste Addams. Pleasure.”
“Trust me, dear. The pleasure is all mine.” Alright, you thought as she scanned you with a smirk. She was swinging for both teams. You could work with that. “What’s the offer?” She looked back to Zemo.
Zemo gave her the offer - information about the super soldier serum for the Winter Soldier and the code words to control him. Your blood boiled as Zemo touched Bucky, fingers grabbing his chin. You swore, once this whole thing was over, you would kick Zemo’s ass. You should make a list, just to keep track of all the things he’d done, and no doubt would do, to piss you off. That way he’d know why exactly you were beating his ass.
A name came up, Dr. Wilfred Nagel, along with the knowledge that the super soldier serum was, in fact, in Madripoor. You and Sam met eyes. Second step down.
But before they could get anything else, Sam’s phone buzzed. You ducked your head, closing your eyes, mumbling “fuck” when you saw it was Sarah. Sam’s responses just made you inwardly cringe even more.
“The bank, yeah. We laundered so much mo-” He chuckled nervously. “Yeah. They’ll come around.”
Is he fucking serious? For the love of God, Sammy…
And then she called him Sam. Next thing you knew, Selby was shot and you, Bucky, and Sam were taking out a guard each, you growling at the fact that you couldn’t use your legs because the dress was too damn tight.
You had no choice but to trust Zemo’s lead, but word traveled very quickly here, and less than a minute after walking outside, you were getting shot at.
“C’mon!” Bucky grabbed your arm, pulling you besides him.
“Can you not right now?!”
“I can’t run in these heels!”
You glared at Sam, the killer six inchers on your feet feeling like hell. “Hell no! You did not just say that in front of me!”
“You started it!” You scowled at him, following Bucky into an alley, only to duck as shots rang out. Chest heaving, you looked around for the source of the bullets that killed the men chasing you.  Your “guardian angel” as Zemo put it.
She soon appeared in all her stunning, blonde badass glory. “Sharon?”
Sam quickly explained the situation, trying to get her not to shoot Zemo who she had a gun pointed at.
“I stole Steve’s shield, remember? I also took the wings for your ass,” she pointed the gun at Sam, then Bucky, “so that you could save his ass, from his ass.” And the gun was back on Zemo. She shot you a smile. “And your ass is looking beautiful as always.”
You grinned back. “Thanks. You’re not looking too bad yourself.”
As she spoke, your lips turned down. You had tried calling her after Germany, but it always went to voicemail. First thing you did when you got back was try to get everyone pardoned, but it was a process. And then you found out about Wanda and ever since…
Sharon was your first real friend. She was only a couple years younger than you and had been one of your first partners during your time with SHIELD. And the fact that she’d been on the run for years now, even with the Blip, her family not having seen or talked to her since…that was exactly why you couldn’t take a break. She was family and you found there was nothing more important than family. But when she needed you, you were out searching for someone who didn’t want to be found.
How were you supposed to choose between two sisters? How could you cope with the fact that you chose the wrong one?
“Sharon, we need your help.” She laughed at Bucky’s statement. “Please,”
She glanced at you and you nodded. “I’d appreciate it, Share.”
She gave a sigh before nodding. “This isn’t over. I have a place in High Town. You should be safe there for a while.”
She turned and started walking, and you were about to follow, when you remembered something.
Spinning around, your fist connected with Zemo’s cheek, Sam and Bucky shouting in surprise while the man stumbled back. “Don’t you fucking dare touch him like that ever again, or I will break every bone in your body.” You threatened, your expression twisting into a scowl as you grab his hand and bend it awkwardly. He grunted but didn’t move, knowing one wrong turn would break his wrist. “Do I make myself clear?”
“Crystal.” He ground out.
You pushed a little more, making him wince, before letting go and rounding back to Sharon, who was smirking at you. “Let’s get moving.”
“Yes, ma’am.” She jerked her head back over her shoulder to where a car was waiting, leading them over.
You quickly followed after her with Bucky on your heels and Sam dragging Zemo along. Speaking of heels, as soon as you got in the car - getting shotgun for the first time ever at Sharon’s insistence - you prodded the stupid shoes off your feet.
“Nice kicks.”
“Yeah.” You scoffed. “Unless you’re trying to kick.”
“Did you rip the dress?”
“I was tempted to.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll get you in something more comfortable. And you’ll look just as good. Not that you wouldn’t look good in literally anything.”
You chuckled, giving her a look. “Let’s not test that theory.”
She smiled back, nodding. “Fine. I’ll let you pick something out.”
Sam huffed, crossing his arms best he could, being squished with the two other fully grown men in the back seat. “Women.”
The two of you exchanged looks, rolling your eyes at the three pouting guys. “Men.”
*****************
“I’m gonna go check on the boys. But I’ll be right back.”
You nodded, looking through her closet. No dresses. And absolutely no heels. Flats, if you had to, but you’d definitely prefer sneakers right now. You decided on shorts and an off-the-shoulder blouse, grateful for the looser clothing.
“They’re idiots.”
You laughed and looked over at the door as Sharon entered. “Yeah. I know.”
“Cute.” She commented on your outfit, sitting on her bed. “They explained the situation. Sam said if I help, he’d clear my name-”
“Sharon.” You sighed, biting your lip. “I tried. I really did. I-”
She shook her head, smiling at you reassuringly. “No, I know. It’s why I’m not mad at you. Sorry I didn’t call back. How’ve you been?”
You shrugged. “Fine, I guess.”
“Even with the whole ‘Cap is back’ thing.”
“Walker’s the government’s pet. He’s not Captain America. He’s not…”
“Steve?”
Looking up at her from the ground, you nodded. “Yeah.”
“Do you miss him?”
You smirked, wagging your eyebrows at her. “Do you?”
She rolled her eyes, tossing a pillow at you. “It’s kinda weird now, isn’t it?”
“Maybe a little. But I can’t blame you. Have you seen him shirtless? Good God.”
Sharon laughed, shaking her head as you joined her on the bed. “How come it’s always you getting wrapped up in these things?”
“I have no clue.” You chuckled, crossing your legs underneath you. “First I’m answering a phone call from Bucky at five in the morning and next thing I know, I’m being kicked off of semi trucks, breaking criminals out of prisons and running in six inch heels.”
“You answer Bucky’s calls at five in the morning?”
You gave her a look. “Sharon-”
“No, no. Hey. That’s cool. Some girls like bad boys, some like jocks, others like nerds. You like super soldiers from the 40’s. Everyone’s got a thing.”
A playful shove turned into a pillow fight, which turned into a sparring session, during which you pin her on her back. “You’re getting better.” You complimented, getting up.
She glared at you, taking your outstretched hand and letting you pull her up. “I guess that’s why you’re an Avenger.”
“That’s still weird to say.”
“Why? You’ve been an Avenger since, what? Ultron?”
You nodded, straightening your clothes. “Officially, anyways.”
“Right. Because you were there for the Battle of Manhattan as the secret seventh superhero.”
“Yeah…I miss it. The anonymity. I’m pretty sure I’m one half the Senators’ speed dials.”
Sharon frowned, brows pinching together. “What about the other half of the OG? Where are they?”
“Thor’s in space, Bruce is MIA - which I can’t really blame him for - and Clint’s retired with his family.”
“You think he’s gonna stay retired?”
You shrugged. “I hope he does. He’s been trying to retire for years. He deserves it. Knowing him, though…probably not.”
Sharon crossed her arms, nodding at you. “So that leaves you.”
“Yes it does.”
“Do you ever think of taking a break?”
You gave a half-sigh, half-groan, making her smirk in amusement. “It’s…come up a lot recently. I dunno. I think I’m burning out, anyways.”
“What makes you say that? I was watching you guys with Selby. You’re still one of the best I’ve ever seen.”
“I-I’ve been having…problems.”
Her eyes narrowed, her hands setting on her hips like a mother about to scold her child. “What kind of problems?”
“Just flashbacks. Of different things. It happens at random times. Certain triggers; something someone says or does, or something I smell or hear.”
“PTSD?”
“Something like that.”
“Has it affected you in the field?” Hesitating to answer was answer enough and she nodded. “Then…maybe it’s time you do start considering retiring.”
You snorted, shaking your head. “At 36? There’s no way.”
“C’mon. It’s not too late for you to settle down. Go one a few dates. Meet someone. Maybe have a couple kids-”
“Woah, woah. Slow your roll.” Your features scrunched up in incredulity. “Pump your breaks. No one said anything about marriage or kids.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’m just saying…think about it. I heard even Bucky’s been on a few dates.”
It was your turn to narrow your eyes at her, hearing the suggestive tone in her voice and seeing the eyebrow raise. “Yeah. He has. A few. I told him to. Told him it might be good for him to, I dunno, get back out there.
“Or, you could just…go out there with him.”
“Not you too! Have you been talking to Sam?”
“Is it Steve? Is that what’s stopping you? Because you know he’d just want you to be hap-” She stopped as he phone vibrated, grabbing it and reading the text. “Company’s arriving.” She pointed a finger at you. “You got very very lucky. This conversation isn’t over. I’m not dropping this.”
You bit your cheek and nodded. “Alright, mom. Can we go party now?”
She breathed out a laugh and nodded. “Yeah. Let’s go party.”
**********************
“Hey, gorgeous! There you are!”
You smirked at the boys as they met you near the top of the stairs, eyeing Sam and Bucky appreciatively. Damn, could Sam pull off a turtleneck. And Bucky in black and skinny jeans? Sharon sure had good taste. “Today’s the day for attractive outfits, huh, gentlemen?”
“I’ll say.” Bucky hummed, glancing at your own outfit. “You look beautiful, doll.”
“You look very dashing yourself, Barnes.” You grin, pulling at the lapels of his black blazer and fixing the collar. You smoothed your hand down the front of his shirt, looking up at him with an eyebrow raised when he caught your wrist, keeping your palm over his heart.
He clenched his jaw, taking a breath, before letting it out, almost dejectedly, and letting your hand go. “Um,” He cleared his throat, hand falling down by his side. “Did, uh, did Sharon say anything more about these friends of hers to you?”
“Nope.” You shook your head. “Just told me to enjoy the party.”
“I guess we should go enjoy the party, then.” Sam nodded towards the stairs, where the music was floating up, her guests already pouring in.
You made your way downstairs, looking around the room. Sharon sure did know how to throw one, that’s for sure.
People were pushed together, dancing to the beat of the music, drinking, with colored lights flashing every which way. Bucky’s hand found yours almost instantly, and you smiled at him. “C’mon.”
“What?” His eyes were wide as you dragged him towards the groups of people dancing.
“Dance with me.”
He shook his head violently. “I-I can’t.”
“I thought you used to be a dancer?”
“Used to. And I was a swing-dancer. Not…” He gestured around to the people bobbing up and down, moving their bodies with each other.
You waved dismissively, pulling him closer. “All you need to do is feel the beat. I’m sure you can do that, can’t you, Mr. Tough and Scary Assassin?”
He licked his lips, looking around nervously. You brought his hands to your hips, making his eyes snap back to yours, your own arms winding around his neck. You started moving rhythmically, nodding your head to the music, smiling up at him and giggling at the adorable concentration on his face.
“You, uh, you go to parties like this a lot?”
“I specialized in undercover operations, remember? I practically lived at these places for some of them.” He licked his lips, his grasp on your hips tightening. “Loosen up a little.” You laughed, catching his jaw between your fingers and making him look at you instead of the crowd surrounding him. You scratched at the scruff, speaking softly, but loud enough for him to hear. “It’s just me.”
He nodded and, slowly, a bit hesitant, started moving his body with yours, relaxing his tense muscles the longer you two danced.
“Nice hit, by the way. With Zemo earlier.”
You shrugged, turning in his arms, biting your lip when he pulled you closer, your back to his chest. “I didn’t like the way he grabbed you. It was unnecessary. I was thinking of making a list, actually.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah.” Your arms wound around his neck again, your head falling back to his shoulder. “Of things he’s done so far that warrant’s me beating his ass once this is done.”
He chuckled, warm breath tickling your cheek, thumbs tracing circles on the bare skin just above the waistline of your shorts. Your own fingers had found home in his hair holding his head where it was, his lips centimeters away from your ear. “Share it with Sam. I’m sure he has a few things to add.”
Your breath hitched as his metal fingers danced along your bare navel, arm tightening around your waist. “I’m sure he does…I thought you said you can’t dance.”
“I guess I just needed to warm up. I’m a bit rusty after eighty years.”
“Don’t seem that rusty to me.” You breathed out, turning your head to look at him. His tongue ran across his lips again, his eyes glancing to your own.
“Hey, guys!” The world and your situation came crashing down on you, the music you didn’t realize you’d been tuning out, along with the crowd’s boisterous laughter and cheers, rushed back to yours ears. The little bubble with just you and Bucky shattered. You both stepped away from each other; you cleared your throat and pushed down the heat that had nothing to do with the hundred bodies in the one room, while Bucky rubbed the back of his neck, the tips of his ears red with no help from the colored lights. Both of you were panting lightly, avoiding eye contact with the other three staring knowingly at you. Sharon nodded her head, gesturing behind her. “I found him.”
Sam nudged Bucky - who was staring at you, his jaw ticking and his throat tightening as he swallowed thickly - before jabbing his thumb in Sharon’s direction. “Here we go.”
You nodded, eyeing Bucky with a small smile. “Here we go, Buckaroo.”

The grass felt sticky and uncomfortable under your crossed legs, and when you swiped your hand against the skin, you could feel the indentation from the blades. Your knee-high socks felt itchy too; everything felt itchy. Even the cotton of your shirt felt like it was suffocating, and the bow tied around your neck which hung loosely should have hung even looser.
To distract yourself, you plucked up the blades of green and tied them into knots absentmindedly. It was easier to pay attention to your idle hands compared to paying attention to her.
Could she even tell that you were looking? Could she see out of the corner of her eye when she threw her cotton-candy pink hair behind her ear? Could she tell that you watched as she gulped down the lemonade and caught a glance at the peachy fuzz of her neck exposed by her collar?
Stop looking. Stop looking.
Your other friends tied up their hair in clips and with lazy hair ties to free their sweating necks from the sun. No matter the sweltering heat, it was always tradition for your picnic just before the summer vacation. One of them had brought a cake and each of the girls attacked it viciously with small forks and smeared bits of frosting on each other’s noses.
“Come here!! You’re next!!” They beamed while launching themselves in your direction to dot your nose with the white cream.
A flurry of high pitched giggles peeled out from each of you once another frosting victim had been dubbed. Your cheeks felt furiously hot knowing that she was looking; and that she was laughing along with the rest of them.
“Awwww cute.” She adored with a smile that turned her dimples into whiskers on her cheeks.
You quickly wiped it off with a handkerchief that settled into your damp hand.
She’s looking, she’s looking…
The other girls pranced around the checkered picnic blanket in their white socks--undoubtedly painting them with green that their mothers would scold them for later. Their careless steps made a mess of the food wrappers and canvas backpacks that held down the corners of the thin fabric. The joyous cheers of the girls seemed to harmonize with the song of the cicadas in the trees; both sounds reminded you of the coming of the summer and the humid weather that makes the air dense.
One of the girls brought out her phone and played loudly from it one of her favorite songs which she knew every word too, regardless of the fact that her tone was far from the singer’s.
You and your friends never cared much for how others would view you. Even at school when you would march through the hallways arm-and-arm, others would stare at the way that none of you batted an eye at those who would glare.
They were just jealous was all.
“Be careful!!” You found yourself scolding, “What if you fall running around like that?”
In response, your friends promptly stuck out their tongues in your general direction.
“Don’t worry about it,” Ryujin coolly popped another cherry into her mouth from the bowl by her crossed legs. “If they fall, let them! It's funnier that way.”
She threw a wink right at you, which you almost didn’t catch because you had quickly averted your eyes to become much more interested in the tiny tea-cakes.
“You’re always worrying Y/n! Its summer!”
“I-I do not.”
Ryujin chuckled in that way that always made you feel like your heart was just about ready to leap out of your chest.
“Lighten up! Come on!”
Before you could process it all, your friend patted down the wrinkles in her skirt and threw off her shoes. She rose, and neared your corner of the blanket with hands outstretched.
“Stop worrying about things or if people are watching!” She scolded you with a cute and tiny pout, “Get up!” Ryujin wriggled her hands with emphasis to show you that you could take hold of them.
“W-what…?”
The other girls giggled on, hardly even noticing the two of you over their singing.
You grabbed onto her hands, already loathing how damp your own felt against hers out of your own nervousness. She still held onto you tightly, saying nothing of them and helped you to your feet. Immediately she brightened once you played along and started to swing your arms in tune with the song. Your friend lip synced to the rap part and you felt just about ready to swoon from how cool she looked saying the words with ease.
“Dance with me!! Don’t pay attention to people walking by or anything like that!”
Ryunjin led you by the hand to the patch of grass with little white and pink flowers laced into it. You really did try to pay attention to dancing, but everything else seemed to be distracting even when you tried hard enough. She brought your hand up higher to spin her, and when she twisted, everything seemed to happen in slow motion: the billow of her plaid shirt, her rosy-pink hair which swiped just at her shoulders, even the way that the sunset melted behind her into swirls of sunburst yellow and vibrant orange. It was like she was all a part of it.
“Your turn!” She said, twisting you too.
You didn’t realize that you would have been as dizzied by it as you were, but when you lost your footing, she was just as quick to help you with her hands carefully grasped onto your shoulders.
“You okay?” Ryujin asked, out of breath, but still genuine.
“I’m fine!”
Your knees wobbled with barely any strength to them, but you mustered every bit of confidence that you had to keep being this close to her. You surprised yourself when you reached back for her hands to continue swinging them between you.
The other girls collapsed back onto the blanket in a pile of shallow exhales and airy laughs that they exchanged between them.
“No more dancing, I-I can’t do any more…” One of them announced while leaning against the shoulder of another one of your friends.
“I forgot! I brought this!!” One of your friends with pigtail braids dove deeply into her backpack and pulled out nearly all of the contents before finding the small cube-case which was decorated with an obscene amount of keychains. “My camera! We have to take some pictures so that we can remember this!”
The other girls squealed in agreement and ganged up on her to fit into the frame of the white Polaroid camera that she had also splattered with stickers.
“Here, I wanna show you something.” Ryujin drew your attention back to the blanket where she settled back down with her own bag draped over her legs.
“What is it?”
“Ryujinnie! I wanna take your picture too! Your pink hair is so pretty…” One of your friends cooed with a sad downturn to her lips, “I hope that you never change it.”
“Hmm, I don’t know. We’ll see. My cousin has been saying that she wants to see what I would look like blonde these days.”
The small talk didn’t concern you too much, you were more concerned with what it was that your friend had to show you.
“I’m going on a trip with my cousins soon so we’ll see what happens.”
Your friend sighed, and skipped over the mess of the blanket to pull Ryujin by the wrist to the walkway a little farther off. “You’d look so cute over here!”
She pardoned her, and stumbled after the eager girl to let her take a Polaroid of her. Even from far away, you could still hear the two of them admire the picture with happy little expressions of “ah! I told you that it would look good!”
The two girls returned, and you began to worry if your friend even remembered what she had said in the first place.
What is it? What does she want to show me?
“Shoot!!” Another one of your friends huffed out while looking at her phone, “I forgot that I have to tutor the middle schoolers today!! I’m late!!”
The girls went to action in a mere matter of seconds sweeping up the picnic assortment and shoving the leftovers into their backpacks.
You helped them and tried to look over to your other friend who didn’t return your glances. Perhaps she really had forgotten.
You let your imagination run wild for just a few moments, although the more that you did, the more it all just seemed preposterous. Maybe it was a confession letter, maybe she had written for you one of those poems like she had liked to do, maybe she had rather wanted to talk to you about something...say something that you wanted to say back…
“I’m going to stick around.” Ryunjin said suddenly with her hands on her hips. “Y/n, you’re welcome to stay too if you want. We don’t exactly have to go home yet since the sun’s still up.”
Your friends looked to you for your answer, to which you stammered out an, “O-okay…” The best that you could.
“See you later!!” They called after with their shoes only half-slid onto their feet.
You waved them off, but the farther that they walked away, the more the realization started to hit you that you were alone with her. The sound of your heartbeat echoed in your ears, and you calmed it trying to think about anything else but the fact that now her attention was truly undivided upon you.
“You said that you wanted to show me something?”
Your friend nodded, and patted the grass beside her for you to join her. She gathered up the small bundle of cherries left behind and positioned them into her lap.
“I learned this trick a little bit ago and I wanted to show you!”
“A trick?”
She nodded, and plucked from one of the crimson berries a stem which she put directly into her mouth.
“What are you doing?!” On the surface, it didn’t seem like the most sanitary thing to do.
Ryunjin stifled a laugh and lightly hit you on the arm to chastise you. “Just wait a minute!”
You watched in your confusion as her face contorted a little, and her eyebrows twisted like she was thinking. Her cheeks puffed a little too, and you could tell that she was doing something with it in her mouth--it was only then when you realized that you had been intensely observing her mouth.
In your embarrassment you threw your eyes in the other direction, but it was no use one you heard her start to giggle at how flustered you had become.
“It’s okay, you’re supposed to look.” She assured you.
“What-what is it?”
“Annnnd done!” Your friend proclaimed proudly and you struggled to meet her again without feeling like your whole face and the tips of your ears were burning up.
Right on the pink of her tongue she had tied the stem into a tiny knot which she displayed proudly.
“You...did that with your tongue?”
“Mm-hm!”
Your hands reduced back to their clammy state, and they found the grass between your own folded legs to find something to do.
“That's...that’s pretty cool…”
“I know right?!”
Back came your friend's little dimples, and this time your chest started to feel like it was swelling with heat.
Stop looking, stop looking…
“I can teach you how to do it some day if you’d like.” Ryujin’s tone dropped lower, and more serious in the way that some had thought to be intimidating. To you, there was nothing more that could make you feel the beat of your own heart more obviously.
“Teach me? How??”
The question felt like a butterfly in your lips, fluttering and ticklish, light and uncertain. You met her eyes the best you could; even though you knew that there was nothing about her that you didn’t already know, or that was threatening.
Your friend tilted her head, inspecting you and the way that you could barely keep your glance away from her lips--stained just a little red from the cherries--then smiled.
“W-what? What is it? Why are you smiling?”
She sighed, and craned forward on one of her hands in the grass, bridging the distance between the two of you to caress down the side of your face, all the way to your jaw with the back of her fingers.
“You’re just too cute.”
“Hm?” Your chest threw itself up and down, and you could thinly feel the breath that tried to fill your lungs when she was this close.
“I just can’t handle it any more.”
“Me?”
Ryunjin nodded, softening her eyes until they were nearly closed, and rid the two of you of all space, leaning over just so you could feel the weight of her chest nearly pressing into yours. At first, she placed the lightest of kisses into you, so light that it barely brushed against your lips, but merely imprinted upon them. She leaned back, leaving you with the ghost of a feeling of her upon you. It felt a bit unfair how fleeting it was, and how she looked at you like that: smug as ever, but as blissful as she always was.
Your breaths tried to make sense of it all, if it had just happened, and what to think of it. As quick as it was, all you could want was to feel it again.
“Ryu--”
She cradled both sides of your face in hers, leaning in with more fervor and parting your lips with hers, leaving you to squeak from the sudden movement. You couldn’t figure out how to kiss back at first, or if you should hold her too. Your head felt like it was spinning in circles from your disbelief when you could taste the tiny tang of the sweet and sour cherries which lingered on her lips. She rubbed her thumbs into your cheeks, and angled you better to let her growing smile paint your own mouth from corner to corner.
At last, you were able to find a rhythm which suited you, and you kissed her right back. She giggled at your stroke of confidence and the vibrations made your whole body tingle. Your feet had surely fallen asleep where you had folded them beside you, but the numb feeling of them dissolved once her hands fell to your shoulder where she held to you tightly. The pressure from the tips of her fingers made you shiver, and you too smoothed down the pink shine of her hair.
The warm and ticklish feeling of her tongue grazed your lower lip where she changed her approach and deepened her kiss. The heat of tongues finally met in the middle testing and learning more of the other the closer that you became, and tiny airy gasps got stuck between both of your curiosity. In your lap, her hands found yours and they laced together and held tight; each digit wrapping the other and becoming one with the eagerness of her thumb rubbing little circles into the squishy parts of your hand.
After the heat of your passion started to melt, you found yourself hiding your giddy laughter the best you could once she started to peck at your lips over and over until you felt like she had kissed you so close to the brim that you would overflow.
“I said that you’re cute and I mean it!” She snuck the phrase in between a couple more kisses, eliciting you to fold up in your giddy embarrassment from the compliment.
Ryunjin pulled away, and popped another cherry into her mouth from the bundle, then threw her arms around your shoulders. You simply let your hands rest in her lap covered by the plaid of her skirt; shaking from the release of the endorphins and the adrenaline.
“Ryujin...I wanted to tell you that I’ve had a crush on you for a...really long time…” You shied, but she brought your chin back to look at her directly.
“Good. Me too.”
You couldn’t even process the combination of her words for them to make sense. White noise filled your ears, even though it should have been obvious from the way that she had kissed you like that.
“Oh! Here. I wanted to give this to you too. Something to remember me by.”
She reached for her bag, and pulled out a white-out pen from the front pocket. The Polaroid had faded into its full color, and she focused with her tongue peeking from her mouth as she wrote the message:
see you soon <3
- ryujinnie
Over her head in the picture, she doodled a few hearts, then she blew on the ink to dry it.
“For you!”
You took the picture with your hands still thoroughly shaking, and all you could utter was a “thanks” while you took in your friend looking as gorgeous as she always was. You knew then that you would treasure the image forever, and the day which it was taken.
“Who knows,” Ryujin started, and let her head fall to your shoulder where she nuzzled in, “This might be the last that you’ll see of my pink hair too.”
You turned the picture over, already sensing how it made your heart feel like it was aching sticky and sweet, just like the cherries.

MCYT Demographic Survey Part 2 RESULTS
IT’S TIME!!!
Once again, thank you so much to everyone who participated! 1,654 people total responded to this - about four and a half times as many respondents as the first survey. It’s honestly incredible. I’m so happy the rest of you are as interested as I am in this stuff :D
The increased turnout is also why these results are being posted two days later than I’d intended. I want to give a HUGE thank you to my friend @quincepastey and my sibling @orestes-swimming for helping me out, and by helping I do mean they did basically all of the technical stuff for me, because my knowledge of spreadsheets was not up to the task. So thank you to Cupid for organizing all the data from questions 3 and 4 into something comprehensible for me, and thank you to Kal for making the charts! They are absolutely the MVPs and everyone reading this should go check them out. Thank you guys so much <3
Reblogs of this post are very appreciated. It would be awesome if the info about the results could reach everyone who submitted a response, so if you reblogged my first post about this survey, please consider reblogging this one as well!
For your convenience, here’s a link to the results of the first survey I did six months ago. Now - on to the results!
Question 1: What is your age range?
Tumblr media
Compared to the results of the first survey, we can see that things have changed a bit! Specifically, the fandom has shifted just a little bit older. The solid majority of the fandom is still in the 15-17 year old range, but it’s gone down from almost half to closer to 40%. Almost a third of the fandom are ages 18-20, up from close to a fifth six months ago. 21-25 year olds have increased from about 10% to about 14%. And the youngest segment, 13-14 year olds, have gone from almost 20% of the fandom down to 12% - the sharpest change of all.
Finally, nearest and dearest to my own heart, there are now 26 whole people in the fandom aged 26-30 and 9 people aged 30+. Old Squad is growing, folks. We are... the 2% 😎 Special shoutout to the person who said their 15 year old kid got them into the fandom. I hope you know just how cool you are.
These results are interesting, but it’s also impossible to say how accurate the data is. This survey and the previous one were only posted on my blog, and they only reached a wider audience through the reblogs of my followers. So do these changes reflect actual changes in the demographics of the fandom as a whole, or is it just that my followers (and the people who follow them) have shifted older? To try to avoid this bias in the future, I may reach out to some well-known younger bloggers and ask them to reblog the next survey I do so that I can reach a more even audience.
Question 2: What is your gender?
Tumblr media
Apologies for the small text, but there were so many unique write-in answers that I wanted to include them all. You may want to open the image in a separate tab for better quality.
In contrast to the age question, the gender spread of the fandom has remained pretty much the same. About half the fandom is still female, the nonbinary crowd has increased from 20% to 25%, 7% of us are male, almost 7% are genderfluid, and about 5% are agender. Just like last time, most of the write-in responses fell into the vague categories of either genderqueer or questioning.
No surprises on this one! The fandom continues to be overwhelmingly female and queer. Next time I think I’ll include genderqueer and questioning as options to try to catch some of those people into a formal category. All y’all are so valid, especially the person who wrote in their gender as “soup” <3
The results for questions 3 and 4 will be under a cut, because I don’t want to completely destroy people’s dashes.
Before I get into the last two questions, a couple notes. First, I want to explain how I came up with the list of creators, since a lot of people were either excited or disappointed by the fact that a few different people were on there.
On the last survey, this question was a write-in, and I had to transcribe and collate all the answers by hand to come up with the actual number of people who followed each creator. For this survey, I simply took the list that came out of the previous one and pasted it in! I also added a few people who no one wrote in six months ago but who are much more prominent now (Ranboo being the biggest example). So if you were excited to see your favorite small creator listed as an option, they were there because someone wrote them in last time! And if you wrote in your favorite small creator here, they’ll be an option on the next survey. The list is entirely crowdsourced and it will expand with each survey.
That said, the same also applies for more controversial creators. Specifically, I’m talking about CallMeCarson. Several people questioned my decision to keep him on the list - and to be honest, I considered taking him out. But in the end I decided to leave him in as an option for the sake of completeness and consistency with the previous survey. I want to emphasize that this is not me condoning his actions. But for the sake of the data, I felt that it was best to leave him in.
That said, let’s move on to questions 3 and 4!
Question 3: What creator(s) do you primarily follow?
Tumblr media
So, it’s harder to compare with the previous survey on this one, and that’s purely because on the previous survey I didn’t have the help I did here. The chart I was able to make for the results back in October was frankly trash. Also, the fact that I split “followed creators” into two questions - primarily and casually followed - definitely throws things off. However, we can still do a certain amount of comparison!
The most obvious change is Ranboo. He straight up was not on the previous survey at all - I think he’d been streaming for less than a month at the time. Now, about 55% of respondents listed him as someone they primarily follow. The Dream SMP itself has also jumped dramatically. Previously, about 5% of people wrote in Dream SMP. That has increased to over half. Quackity has gone from less than 2% to about 30%. Karl has gone from 4% to 30%. Phil has gone from about 8% to a little under 50%. The SBI have jumped from 11% to over 40%.
Techno has gone from about 50% to over 60%. Tommy has gone from 45% to over 55%. Wilbur has jumped from 43% to 55%. Tubbo has remained steady at about 38%.
Dream has apparently dropped some of his following percentage-wise, falling from 50% to about 35%. However, George, Sapnap, and the Dream Team itself have all jumped from 10-12% to almost 30%.
I’m not going to go over the rest of the list, because that would just get way too long. However, I will drop a link to the spreadsheets of data for this survey and the previous one, so anyone who wants to can do some comparison of their own!
Question 4: What creators do you casually follow?
Tumblr media
I won’t do as detailed of a comparison on this question, because there’s nothing to compare it to - this question wasn’t on the previous survey. However, it’s interesting to see how many more people follow Fundy, Nihachu, BadBoyHalo, Captain Puffy, Eret, Awesamdude, and Jack Manifold casually rather than as a primary favorite. Out of the top twelve, Karl, Quackity, Phil, and Tubbo are the only ones who don’t have a major discrepancy between the amount of people who follow them casually versus primarily.
I would be curious to hear people’s thoughts on why that’s the case! Personally, I would guess it’s a combination of each of their approaches to lore on the Dream SMP, the frequency and times of day that they stream, and the people they tend to make content with and be associated with by the fandom. I may go into that more later, but this post is already very long, so I’ll hold off for now. Here’s a link to this question’s spreadsheet for anyone who wants to take a closer look!
...And that’s a wrap! Good grief, this got long. Kudos to anyone who actually read the whole thing because I know my attention span would be challenged. I’m already thinking about the next survey - a couple people suggested that I add in questions about orientation and nationality, and while I want to keep the survey pretty tight in its scope, I am considering it. It would be even more data to process but it would be interesting to know!
I would love to hear people’s thoughts on these results! I’m only one person, so I know there’s interesting stuff I must have missed. Please, please feel free to reblog with your thoughts and observations! A lot of work went into this (both from me and from Cupid and Kal! Thank you guys again!), so I’m really hoping to hear what people think about it :D
I plan to reblog this and reply to some of the things people wrote in at the end, so stay tuned for that. And once again: thank you all for your interest in this project of mine <3 See you with another one in six months!

Tumblr media
Dream
Heart Shaped Balloons and Flowers
he would bring you to a fancy restaurant
like he would go all out
anyways
he gives you the gifts like before you leave the restaurant
he payed for the check
and he just stands up and says "wait here, i'll just get something real quick from the car"
you're so confused cause like
he already brought you to a fancy place?? what other surprise does he have for you
and he comes in with the balloons and flowers
and you're all like
"dream you're too sweet, i'm gonna cry"
"aww no dont cry D:"
when he gives it to you he kisses your cheek and say some romantic stuff
"i love you so much y/n"
"i'm so grateful for you, thank you for sticking withme theough thick and thin"
George
Chocolates and A Teddy Bear
you would both be at home
just hangin out
cause why go out if you can just stay at home an watch movies together??
he'd even make you pick the movie
which is pretty rare
cause in his words,
"you always pick the worst movies"
"wdym??? i pick the best movies D:<"
and while watching
he gets up and you dont really expect anything
cause yaknow he could be going to the rest room
and when he comes back,
he calls out to you, gifts in hand
"y/n,"
you then look at him and he smiles at you
"happy valentines day:)"
and he'd give you the tightest hug in the world
"aw george thank you, you're the best"
"i know😏"
"oh shut up"
Sapnap
A Big Teddy Bear and Flowers
he would try to plan something big
like a big banner with "happy valentines day!", lots of flowers, etc
but he couldn't cause he was busy:((
and a few days before valentines day he'd just buy you flowers
he planned to give it to you before you wake up
so he woke up earlier than you
he tried to make breakfast for you
but he was so nervous so it was pretty hard
like he would be trying to make you some eggs but heended up burning them on accident
in the end he just made you a sandwhich
when he went in you were still alseep
and after a few minutes of deciding,
he called dream LMAOO
"DREAM HELP WHAT DO I DO"
"JUST WAKE THEM UP"
and so he did
you were greeted with a very happy and nervous sapnap
"happy valentine's day:)"
and he'd give you the flowers and sandwhich
later on in the day you both went to a carnival and win you a big teddy bear in one of the games
cause he felt bad for just getting flowers djshsj
Karl
Cupcakes and A Teddy Bear
he'd first greet you in the morning by peppering your face with kisses and handing you the bear
"here you go love, happy valentines day"
and he'd be all giggly that day too
for the next surprise
he would make this a bonding experience
like you would both make the cupcakes
maybe even make a contest and see who makes the better cupacakes
and it'd be so much fun
he'd throw flour at you, try to mess up the color of your icing by adding more food color in it, etc
like you'd be mixing and he just comes up behind you and probabaly throws an egg at your head LMAOO
"okay so i nee-" you feel something hard hit your head and then hear a cracking sound
you turn around to see that karl has thrown an egg at your head
but it didnt break, it only broke when it finally hit the ground
"oh karl you're in for it now-"
you'd be throwing different ingredients at eachother
maybe even spoons and spatulas
"HA get recked y/-" he pauses
"y/n."
"did you just hit my head with a fork?"
"... maybe"
just really chaotic honestly
and cleaning up would be pretty hard
like there would be flour and icing everywhere
but the whole experince was fun<3
Quackity
Flowers and Song/Poem
he'd be stressed about it
like "will they like it?" "is it good enough??"
just lots of thoughts racing through his head
when he gives it (the flowers) to you
his hands would be sweaty
he clears his throat and gets a piece of paper from his pocket
and its the poem
he starts readibg the lines
(spoiler, its a joke poem)
"y/n, the first time i saw you, i pissed my pants"
"and i like ants"
or somethimg like that KSJAK
he'd just say stupid stuff to make you laugh
then after that comes the real gift
the song
this man makes his own song and tune
nothing was taken from the internet
like he wrote the lyrics himself and the tune
and he'd sing it seriously
when done with the song, he looks at you
"did you like it??"
"like it?" you scoffed
his heart fucking STOPS
"i loved it:)"
and he'd just let a sigh of relief
"dont ever pull that shit again i thought you hated it >:()"
Techno
Going on Picnic and Poem
at first he wouldn't know what to give you tbh
he'd be asking phil what to give you
"phil what should i give y/n?"
and phil would help him
"just give them anything, i'm sure they'll love whatever you get"
"but phil what if-"
he'd want something good enough for you
like he doesn't want to get you just flowers
it needs to be something better than that
but at the same time he's just too lazy to plan anything that big
so he just decided on going on a simple picnic
and he also decided to write you a poem
so you're picnic takes face in a large field
in the middle of nowhere
"techno, where are we?"
"you'll see"
you both to a hill where you find a blanket and a basket, filled with various kinds of food and drinks
"aww techno, thank you. you're so sweet:D"
and he'd be all flustered
"yeah but its just a picnic.."
you both sat down and just talked about things
and before you left he told you he had one more surprise
he reaches to the bottom of the basket where a paper lays
he gets it and begins reading it to you
spoiler alert, its the poem
when he's done, just like quackity, he looks at you
"did,, did you like it?????"
"i loved it techno" and you peck him on the lips
and techno?
boom, his heart explodes
"i'm glad you liked it"
he's so awkward and flustered brrr
Wilbur
Chocolates and a Song
with the song he just speedran it
but at the same time he didnt
like he made the tune quickly
but he took a long time with the lyrics
trying to find the perfect words
but it was hard
because you were so perfect and lovely to him
also cause you were always around him
and you might see what he was doing:((
obviously that would ruin the surprise
so he tried his best to keep it a a secret
and he was able to do it
soon valentines day came
and he sang his song to you
in a blanket fort he made
out of chairs, blankets, and pillows
the fort was filled with stuffed animals, snacks, drinks etc
anything you could think of, it was probably there JSJAJSJ
and if you had a pet
they would just be chilling in the fort
he sang his song there
after, he gave you choclates
cause why not??
he loves you so much so why not more gifts???

Hi Eve! Could you maybe write something like Sirius having a majorly stressful week and he's been on edge all day and he finally decides to go talk to Heather if only to just let it all out. By the time he comes home he's exhausted but Remus is all ready for him, and he's greeted with the sight of Remus in a nice little heap of blankets and pillows piled up on their sofa with a Disney movie ready to play and all his favourite snacks lined up on the coffee table. And Sirius of course just about dissolves into a puddle of affection and gratitude because Loops 🥰🥰🥰
It's honestly concerning how much fluff I write. Oh, well! This is such a cute idea and I'll never pass up an opportunity to write soft Coops <3 SW credit goes to @lumosinlove!
“So, you’ve started baking?” Heather looked up as Sirius nodded, fidgeting with the hem of his hoodie. It still smelled a little like Remus from the last time he stole it, but not nearly enough to drown him in comfort. “That’s awesome. If you don’t mind, can I ask why you chose that as a hobby?”
“It’s—” Stupid. He bit the words back at the last second; Heather never liked self-deprecation, and they had been working on positive self-talk for…as long as Sirius could remember, really. “Uh, I helped Re’s mom make a pie over the holidays and I just have good memories associated with it, I guess.”
Heather jotted something down, her soft smile never faltering. She was wearing a sweater the same color as her name—it was distilled comfort, and Sirius felt some of the tension release from his back. “You said you do it when you’re stressed, right?”
“Sometimes.”
“Does the rhythm help, or is it something else?”
He stared at his hands, rubbing his thumb over the callus from his favorite spatula that was beginning to form. “I think…” he trailed off and bit his lower lip. Honesty always wins. Why do you like it so much? “The rhythm helps quiet my head down, yeah. And it smells like home. And—and if I do it right, I can’t screw it up.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“If I follow the recipe, it works. Every time. I can read the instructions as many times as I need to, and I can focus on that until everything up here—” He gestured vaguely toward his head. “—shuts up for a bit.”
Heather nodded; the room was quiet for a moment while she wrote before she settled into her chair and let out a slow breath. “I’m really happy you started doing this, Sirius.”
“Yeah?”
“Yep. We’ve talked about finding healthy amounts of control and tethers in your daily life, and from what you’ve said, this makes you happy in addition to helping you calm down. What do you do with everything you make?”
He shrugged. “Give it away, mostly. It’s healthier than store-bought stuff, and the guys like it. Re and I can’t eat it all ourselves.”
“How often do you stress bake?”
“Oh, probably three or four times a week.”
Shit, shit, shit. Heather’s eyebrows crept upward. “Oh?”
“…yes.” Can’t take it back now.
“Okay.” She made a quick mark on her clipboard—for the hundredth time, Sirius wished he could snatch it and run. “Interesting. Why are you so stressed?”
“It’s not like that all the time,” he said quickly. “Just over the past couple weeks.”
“What’s been going on?”
“Everything?” he said. It sounded more like a question. Heather made another note. “It’s—well, Jules got the flu two months ago and Re wasn’t sleeping because he was worried, so I got nervous and started staying up later so I’d be tired, but then I got bored and worried about both of them so I texted Hope about her pie recipe—"
“Sirius,” Heather interrupted gently. He closed his mouth and tucked his hands into his sleeves, palms itching. “Deep breaths, then tell me what’s been going on these past couple weeks specifically that was stressing you out.”
He obliged, counting ten before speaking again as his brain stopped feeling like someone poured pop rocks into it. “Right. So, this whole habit thing started two months ago, and we’re getting closer to you-know-what—”
“The playoffs?”
He made a quiet noise of distress and tapped the wood of the chair. “Oui, that. There’s a lot of pressure from last year, and when my friends are stressed, I get stressed, and baking is easy and fun so I just…didn’t stop. A lot of things are happening right now, and this feels like the only one I can control.”
“There you go,” she said with a proud smile. “Thank you.”
“What did I do?”
“You’re being more open and honest with yourself. It’s good to see.” She crossed one leg over the other and leaned slightly forward. “You’re a really, really good captain, Sirius. You are so in-tune with the other people in your life, but you’ve got to remember to step back and do things for yourself sometimes. Right now, baking is your stress relief because you can’t control your friends’ lives or emotional states. Try to find more things like that.”
He stared at her for a moment. “Are you diagnosing me with ‘needs a hobby’?”
“In a sense, yes. You have done an incredible job over the past few months of letting your world revolve around things other than hockey. Branching out to baking was an excellent choice. Now it’s time to find other things that give you similar comfort, okay?”
“Alright.”
“Fantastic. Let’s brainstorm.”
--------------------------------
Sirius dropped his bag next to the shoe rack and immediately leaned back against the door, closing his eyes with a sigh. Therapy was always exhausting, but usually in a good way. Already, he could feel the weight of the last three weeks lifting off his shoulders. “I’m home!” he called.
Remus materialized from the living room and padded over in his fuzzy socks, planting a kiss on each of Sirius’ cheeks. “You look tired. Good or bad?”
“Good,” he assured him. “We worked on finding a hobby.”
“Oh?”
“Apparently, baking every other day isn’t a great long-term coping mechanism.”
Remus kissed him lightly on the lips. “I can’t tell you how glad I am to hear that.”
Sirius pulled back with a frown. “I thought you liked my baking.”
“I do. I also worry about how much space we have in our kitchen, and how much you sleep.” He gave Sirius a squeeze around the waist and patted his hip. “Now c’mere, I have a surprise.”
“What kind of surprise?” Sirius asked warily as he allowed himself to be pulled toward the living room. “Do we have company?”
“Does Hattie count?”
The dog in question barked when they entered the room, though she was buried beneath a mountain of blankets and only her nose and tail stuck out. In the hour and a half Sirius had been gone, the living room had transformed into a massive fort—the couch cushions were propped up around a nest of pillows and blankets, and low amber light fell over everything from the side table lamp. It radiated coziness and warmth; he felt the last bits of his exhaustion settle into contentment. “Wow.”
Remus beamed at him. “Do you like it?”
“I love it.” He cupped his face in his hands and nudged their noses together. “And I love you. So much. I’m going to go rinse off and change, but can we cuddle afterward?”
“What do you think this is for?” Remus teased. “You took my sweatshirt.”
“It’s too big for you anyway.”
“How long until I find it in my laundry pile because it doesn’t smell like me anymore?”
Sirius pretended to think for a moment, though he couldn’t keep his smile down as happiness bubbled through every vein. “Tomorrow.”
“Go take your shower,” Remus laughed, then kissed him once again. “I’ll see if I have anything else that’ll fit you.”

“What now-” You lifted your head when you saw someone enter your room. The boy didn’t say anything as he climbed into your bed, pulling you close to him to fall back asleep. You blinked in confusion as you heard soft snores coming from the boy.
“Jungkook. Stop coming in here to escape your brothers.” You said, slightly muffled against the material of his shirt.
“Shhh.” Was all he said, snuggling closer to you. As much as you hated to admit it, the boys were slowly getting closer to you as each day passes. Their company was tolerable.
“Koo, you know this is the first place Namjoon will come find you.” You patted his shoulder.
“Hmm... Koo... I like that nickname.” Jungkook peeked one eye open.
“You’re such a baby.” You scoffed. Jungkook didn’t reply, quickly falling back asleep. You let out a sigh of defeat, running your fingers through his long, black hair.
*KNOCK KNOCK*
“Yes, Namjoon?” You called out, chuckling. Jungkook didn’t move, having fallen into a deep sleep already. The door slowly crept open and Namjoon poked his head in. Seeing the sleeping boy in your arms, he gave a flat look with a sigh. Jungkook was the youngest but he was the heaviest and the bulkiest out of all the 7 boys, which makes his muscle bunny name very fitting.
“Wanna try?” You asked.
“You need to change your locks.” Namjoon crossed his arms.
“Isn’t the first lesson of mafia school how to pick locks? Changing locks wouldn’t be so effective then.” You raised your eyebrows, moving positions so Jungkook laid in your lap instead.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen him willingly get close to someone before though. That’s quite a feat.” Namjoon chuckled.
“He’s not going to wake up soon. Maybe try later?” You suggested.
“We’re supposed to have a meeting. He knows this because he was the one that chose this date 2 weeks ago.” Namjoon shook his head. You just shrugged with a smile.
“You spoil him too much. But I’ll be back to get him later.” Namjoon waved before exiting the room. You slid back down, letting Jungkook rest against your chest instead. You were quite particular about the boys having physical contact with you but now, you felt like you needed someone with you.
“It’s too early for this...” You closed your eyes, falling back asleep, considering you can’t escape Jungkook’s grip.
[DREAM]
Your eyes widened as you felt something press against the back of your neck, the cold metal against the warmth of your skin on your neck. Your hand clutched the object that was forced into your hand.
“Do it.” The voice whispered in your ear.
“I can’t.” Your whole body trembled as you cried out. The cocking on the gun behind you made you yelp like a helpless puppy. It pushed you to press the barrel of your gun deeper against the skin. Through your tear-filled eyes, you looked up to meet his eyes.
“It’s okay.” The male before you smiled.
“It’s either you die or him.” The person behind was there yet again. You gasped, tears running down your face.
BANG!
“No!” You screamed, sitting up. Cold sweat covered your forehead and you lifted your shaky hands. There was a ringing in your ears and your vision couldn’t focus. You couldn’t even hear the door open.
“(y/n)!” Someone called out to you but it sounded so distant. Even when Jungkook pulled your trembling figure into his embrace, you were frozen.
“(y/n), calm down. You’re having an anxiety attack. It’s okay, you’re okay. Please.” Jungkook squeezed you even tighter, your cheek pressed against his chest, wetting his shirt with your tears. What was happening? You felt like you lost control of your own body. Jungkook called out to his brothers for help, who came rushing in.
“(y/n). Can you hear me? You’re safe, nothing happened. It was just a nightmare.” Jin cupped your cheeks.
“A... A n-night-m-mare. I-It was too r-real.” You choked.
“But you’re here, we’re all here. Safe and unharmed.” Jungkook said. You closed your eyes, taking a deep breath. You knew only you could pull yourself out of this headspace.
“Let’s give her some breathing room.” Jimin said, making everyone take a step back. You didn’t even notice to looks of worry the boys had.
“I’ll stay here with her, hyungs.” Jungkook turned to the others.
“Call us if anything else happens.” Jin ruffled the maknae’s hair. He nodded, watching his 6 brothers leave. You let out a deep breath, your hands have finally stopped shaking. Jungkook wrapped an arm around you, letting you rest your forehead on his shoulder.
“I hope whatever happened in that nightmare stays there.” You whispered. Jungkook hummed.
“We won’t ever let anything happen to you.” He comforted.
“I need to calm down.” You mumbled. Jungkook proceeded to draw you closer to him, his tattooed arm loosely around you. Instead of pushing him away, you leaned into his secure embrace.
“I’ll be here.” He began to hum a soft tune to calm you down, waiting for you patiently to catch your breath. Mentally, you scolded yourself for being so vulnerable in front of the boys. You haven’t had an anxiety attack in years.
“Can I have a few moments alone?” You croaked.
“Of course.” Jungkook let you go, leaving you in the room. The first thing you did was go into the toilet, emptying the contents of your stomach into the toilet. You stared at your reflection, hair sticking to your face with sweat and your eyes all red and bloodshot. Closing your eyes, you took a few deep breaths to try and get yourself in the right mind again.
“You’re better than this.” You told your reflection. After washing your face, you walked out of the room.
“Iced coffee, please.” You ordered. The maid served your usual order. Instead of going into the dining room, you went out onto the second floor balcony, taking a seat on the same bench as that night when you spoke to Taehyung.
“You’re here.” Someone said.
“Yeah...” You sighed.
“You okay?” He placed a hand on your back. You turned to look at him, letting out a bitter laugh.
“No.” You replied, taking a sip of your coffee. There were many thoughts racing through your mind. You sighed, closing your eyes to just calm your mind for a few seconds.
“You’re finally being honest that you’re not okay, huh?” Hoseok chuckled, leaning back against the seat. He didn’t say anything after that, staring out into the back garden silently.
“My emotions are all over the place. I never get anxiety attacks like that.” You rubbed your face with your hands.
“What do you mean?”
“I grew up learning all about the human psyche. My parents brought me up in an environment that doesn’t let me experience things like that. That’s not me, Hoseok. Anxiety attacks and nightmares? I killed someone with cyanide! No hesitation.” You said in frustration.
“You’re human, (y/n). Certain things just can’t be prevented. Even if you grew up trying to prevent it. And that was an instinctive thing, you didn’t purposely kill him.” Hoseok sighed.
“The fact that I thought I needed to even carry cyanide with me.” You shivered, remembering how the man dropped dead like that.
“We were all like that the first time. Things are rough in our world, it’s either kill or be killed.” Hoseok shrugged.
“I’m just at a lost right now.”
“That’s what we wanted to talk to you about. The boys and I were talking about going on a vacation. We would like you to join us actually. It would be good to relax and unwind.” Hoseok informed.
“A trip? Don’t you guys have work?” You asked.
“We don’t have any urgent stuff, that’s all been taken care of. Our men will handle all the minor stuff for us. Besides, we usually go on vacation around this time of year, anyway. We have a private beach property in Florida, where we plan to go.” He said. You thought about it. Maybe it would be good to go away for a while and get your mind off things.
“When do we leave?” You gave a small smile.
“That’s the spirit! We leave in 3 days. We’re going to have so much fun.” Hoseok patted your head.
“You guys already booked everything without asking me. What if I didn’t want to go?” You laughed.
“Well, then we would have made you come with us under work obligation. You know we would always get what we want.” Hoseok grinned. You shook your head, rolling your eyes. Speaking to Hoseok always made you smile.
“Thanks for the laugh. I needed it.” You said.
“You’re not alone in this, (y/n). We’re all here.” Hoseok kissed your forehead before retreating back into the house.
“You looks horrible.” Yoongi commented as you walked in.
“Thanks, Yoonie.” You groaned, slapping your forehead. Taehyung walked in, his white t shirt and grey hoodie stained a crimson red. He was dragging a wooden bat behind him, leaving a blood trail. He looked up at you and Yoongi with hooded eyes, almost empty.
“Go.” Yoongi nodded up the stairs. Taehyung dropped the bat with a loud sound, trudging up the stairs.
“I think you scared the little one this morning.” Yoongi said, turning back to you.
“Well, I think I’m slowly losing it.”
“I told you to think through it seriously before telling Namjoon you would stay. Now look.” Yoongi surprised you by reaching up to stroke your cheek with his thumb. All you could do was sigh.
“I can do it.” You told him.
“I know you can.” He hummed. Namjoon entered and Yoongi pulled away to look at him. With a nod from Namjoon, Yoongi straightened up and walked out to follow the leader. You went to your office to grab your first aid kit, waiting for Taehyung to come in. As expected, he stood by the door, an apprehensive look on his face as you waved for him to enter.
“Come, sit.” You patted the space. He sat on the medical table as you wheeled yourself closer.
“Let’s clean these up first.” You soaked a cotton ball in disinfectant, cleaning the blister wounds on his hands then moving to his face, applying ointment to his bruises and cuts.
“Owww...” He wrinkled his nose, hissing when you touched the cut over his eyebrow. You lightened up on the pressure, applying a bandaid over it.
“Anywhere else?”
“My ribs.” Taehyung lifted his shirt, showing the blooming bruise that was forming there. You nodded, pressing over it lightly to feel for a break. Taehyung squeezed his eyes, looking away as he bit his lip.
“It doesn’t feel broken but it is very inflamed. I’ll ice it then wrap it with tape. Lay down.” You pulled away. You left the room to grab some ice from the freezer in the kitchen, filling the bag. When you entered the room, Taehyung was still sitting up.
“Tae-” He suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you close to him. You smiled softly, running your fingers through his hair.
“It’s okay.” You comforted. He took a few shaky breaths.
“Come, let me ice your ribs.” You spoke softly, like a mother talking to her son. Taehyung laid down and you softly pressed the ice to the bruise over his ribs. He let out little grunts of pain.
“Are you feeling better?” Taehyung asked.
“An anxiety attack won’t kill me. Give me a little it more credit than that.” You chuckled. Taehyung also had a small smile.
“Is it the guilt?”
“Well, it’s the first time someone died in my hands, intentionally. It takes a while to get used to.” You shrugged, trying to play it cool. Taehyung grabbed your other hand in his.
“I know, I’ve been doing it for years and I still can’t get used to it. Please don’t get used to it, (y/n). Leave the guilt and... killing to us. ” Taehyung whispered sadly. You ran your fingers through his hair. Of course, you were not going to start going on a rampage and killing people. You were still here, only as a doctor to the boys.
“It was all in self defence, Tae. You know that. I’m still here, only as a doctor to heal your injuries. I won’t leave.” You told him.
“I just don’t want to see you going through that again.” Taehyung said. You felt your heart grow warm as Taehyung said that. After you iced his ribs, you dried the area and wrapped his chest.
“Take it easy, these few days.” You advised.
“I will.” He nodded. Giving you once last glance, Taehyung left your office. You cleared up the area and went to sit down at your desk.
“Can I do my session now? Namjoon called for a meeting later.” Yoongi came in. You nodded, closing your book and standing up. Yoongi was doing a mix of shockwave therapy and normal rehab exercises for his shoulder now.
“Let’s start.” You began to do his exercises with him. Yoongi was healing well and the pain he felt was more or less gone but he still wasn’t allowed to start really ‘working’ yet. You didn’t even allow him to drive. You moved his arm slowly, looking for signs of pain.
“How we feeling?” You asked.
“Just the usual stiffness.” He scrunched his nose slightly. You nodded your head, pulling away for a few seconds to note it down.
“There’s a lot of improvement from last time.” You flipped through your notepad. Yoongi nodded his head as you stepped back to guide him through his stretching exercises.
“And we’re done. Get a sip of this and lay down.” You handed him a bottle of cold water. Meanwhile, you grabbed the shockwave machine. Yoongi removed his shirt, laying down on the bed comfortably.
“I’m out of painkillers.” Yoongi said as you put the stickers on his shoulder that connected to the machine.
“I see. How are you sleeping?”
“I don’t wake up because of the pain anymore.” He informed.
“Alright, I’ll give you a milder painkiller to take when necessary. If it doesn’t work for those bad flares, come see me and I’ll give you something stronger.” You told him and he nodded.
“Hoseok told me about the Florida trip?” You cleared your throat, sitting on the wheely stool.
“Yeah. We hope to clear the important work before the trip. It’s been a little hectic so it was a sudden decision to take a short break somewhere. I voted for our lodge is Switzerland but the younger ones like to do water sports on our private beach.” Yoongi sighed.
“Well, where ever we can escape work, I’ll go. I’ll use the break to reset my brain.” You chuckled.
“The others will be excited to hear that you’re going as well.” He mumbled.
“What about you?”
“What about me?” He frowned.
“Are you happy I’m going?” You raised your eyebrows. Yoongi cast you a glance, knowing what you’re trying to get out of him but you just shot him an innocent look.
“What kind of question is that? Whether I’m happy or not shouldn’t matter to you or affect your decision.” He scoffed but you saw the tips of his ears start to blush a light red. You stifled a laugh, wheeling yourself over to your medicine cabinet to pack the painkillers for Yoongi into a pill ox. The machine beeped, signalling the end.
“You’re done for today. Ice it if it’s sore. Same as always.” You smiled, handing him his pillbox. Yoongi nodded and left your office.
“Of course I’m glad you’re going.” He whispered after closing your door. With a shake of his head, he walked to his room to prepare for the meeting tonight with the others.
“We’re here!” Jungkook burst in with Kookie at his feet. Kookie hopped in, once again getting familiar with your office.
“Hello, Kookie.” You bent down to stroke the bunny’s head.
“Just Kookie?”
“Hello to you too, Jungkook.” You complied, reaching up to pat his head like how you did with Kookie.
“No, not Jungkook.” He shook his head.
“Fine. Hello to you too, Koo.” You called him his new nickname. Jungkook threw his head back in laughter. You picked Kookie up, sitting back down on your chair and setting him in your lap comfortably.
“Don’t you have things to do Koo? I heard about the big meeting tonight.” You raised an eyebrow at the maknae, who was just spinning around on your stool.
“Nah, I already know what we’re doing. It’s just announcing that we’re going on vacation and handing over who’s going to be in charge of the businesses and such. Nothing too serious. I’m practically there just to... be there?” He tilted his head with a shrug.
“Whatever it is, I’ll be enjoying my evening alone, relaxing. Oh, well at least just me and Kookie.” You giggled.
“Lucky.” Jungkook pouted.
The boys were getting ready to leave the house, all dressed in their suits, including Yoongi. You leaned against the back of the couch, waiting for your delivery food.
“Sending us off?” Jimin grinned.
“Nope.” You shook your head. The butler came in, carrying bags of food. You smiled, clapping your hands excitedly before receiving them.
“What’s that?” Jin’s eyes widened.
“Fried chicken, tteokbokki, other kinds of delicious food. I already told you that I’ll be feasting on my own.” You showed your food proudly. The boys let out groans at your teasing. Of course, they’d rather stay home and feast, not have to wear stuffy suits and go to some boring meeting. Jungkook pouted, crossing his arms.
“I hate you.”
“Have fun now.” You popped a fry into your mouth and walked towards the glass door to eat at the gazebo.
“Hey, Koo?” You called out to the pouting boy. Jungkook’s eyes lit up, as if expecting that you would offer him a bite of your food before they had to leave for their meeting.
“Pass me a beer from the bar?” You requested. His face fell, trudging over to grab a bottle of beer and opening it before handing it to you.
“Here.” He grumbled.
“Thanks.” You saluted and waddled out into the garden, enjoying the breeze of the evening.
“Save some food for me!” Taehyung yelled out.
“No promises.” You replied before digging in. Of course, you would save some for them when they came back. Imagine their faces when they saw the fried chicken, tteokbokki and other dishes on the living room table.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Where are we going, Jaskier.” The Witcher’s brooding voice echoed threw the flowered valley. His horse trotted not far behind his companion. Jaskier looked back at him and just rolled his eyes.
“How many times have you led me on endless roads, towards the middle of nowhere speaking little to no words to me no matter how much I ask?” Geralt said nothing. Jaskier snorted looking back towards the road.
“Exactly. No shut up, your brooding is giving me a headache.” The bard was giving the witcher a taste of his own medicine. The idea that Jaskier was leading him to somewhere he had no idea of the location, made him uneasy. Did he trust his bard? Absolutely without a doubt. Would he ever admit it to him? No never.
Their travels continued till the sun was barely hanging in the sky. The air had grown crisp replacing the harsh burning of the full summer sun. Jaskier pulled his mare to the side of the road, climbing off her, tying her to a tree. Geralt followed, realizing they were stopping for the day.
“We still have a couple hours of daylight left.” Geralt said as he took Roach’s saddle and tack off.
“We don't need a couple hours, we are nearly there. Maybe an hour and half.” Geralt cocked an eyebrow at Jaskier.
“Then why did we stop?” Jaskier pulled his saddle bags off his horse, putting them beside a log as he gathered some sticks for the fire.
“Because I have to debrief you as to who we are going to see and you must bathe before we do so. The stream here will do the trick.”
“Gods Jaskier, will you just tell me where we are going? The secrecy is bullshit.” The broot of a man was losing his patience with his friend.
The duo had been on the trip for nearly two weeks. They left Tramieria and headed east. Much further east than Geralt could ever remember traveling. Yet the bard seemed to know exactly what turns to take and when. The closer they drew to their destination the more the witcher could hear his heart beat faster.
“Jaskier if this is some stupid plot for me to protect you from some man who’s wife you slept with again-“
“It's not Geralt-“ Jaskier pinched the bridge of his nose, his stress causing a minor headache. “Just go bathe then I’ll tell you everything.” Geralt studied his friend, his eyes searching his face, his ears tuning into his heart beat trying his best to figure out what he was getting himself into.
With a low grunt the witcher grabbed his last set of clean clothes and the bar of soap from the bard's hand before stomping off to the river.
“Clean EVERYTHING!” Jaskier yelled over his shoulder. Only getting an unfriendly finger in return.
Nearly an hour later, the sun was completely hidden behind the canyon, the glow of the fire Jaskier started illuminating their small camp. Jaskier’s fingers strummed mindlessly at his lute, his eyes fixed on the stars that were making their presence known more, humming to himself softly. He heard his friends footsteps as he approached, his hair was wet at his shoulders. A fresh white Cotton tunic hugged his muscular build, black trousers hugging his legs. He smiled nice for once. All thanks to the lavender and honey soap Jaskier had received as a gift.
“Now don't you look better.” Jaskier said with a chuckle. The witcher sat down across the fire from him, his golden eyes staring heavily at the bard.
“Spill your guts Jaskier.” Jaskier rubbed his hands over his face and nodded. His eyes looking anywhere but at his friend.
“I haven't been completely forward about my family life.” Jaskier’s eyes landed on the moon above them. It was nearly full, he was doing well with time. He knew they would reach their destination well before the next full moon.
“Jaskier.” Geralt’s harsh voice broke the silence. With a loud sigh Jaskier finally looked his friend in the face.
“I’m royalty Geralt.” The Witcher’s expression did not change. He just looked at his friend. He could hear Jaskier's heart beat become uneven and unsteady. At first he thought it was a joke but the nervous energy radiating from his long time friend made him think better.
“My family, they are wonderful people. My mother, bless her, taught me everything I needed to know about writing and music. Convinced my father to let me train at Oxenfurt Academy. My father is a noble and loyal king. He served our people well. Still does to my knowledge. I haven't been back in nearly 20 years…” the bard trailed off, his eyes fixated on his hands, his fingers twildilling with a ring he had on. The ring was that of his family. Their crest engraved into the gold.
“I was never meant to be a noble. I lived for adventure, for more than just sitting on a throne and watching people come and go. I was never fit to be king. My parents knew that. They understood. Understanding people they are.” His voice trailed off again, hopping his friend would say something. Ask a question. Anything. He didn’t know where to go next.
“Why didn't you ever tell me?” Geralt finally asked.
“Because it never came up. My family never needed me. I never needed them. I love them all dearly of course. But we were never the closest people in the world. Well, my sister and I were.” That caught the Witcher’s attention. His eyes narrow slightly, he made sure to not let his expression scare the bard into not telling him more. He was genuinely curious about his family. But he couldn't lie and say he wasn't disappointed that in the 7 years they traveled together he never heard of them.
“You have a sister?” The bard's eyes lit up. His memory raced with images of his tun little sister chasing him around the courtyard screaming, yelling his name. Her giggles and laughs pulling at his heart strings.
“Yes. Her name is (Y/N). She is about to be 25. Big age for a princess. I havnt seen her since she was very little.” His heart started to break softly. His neglect to his baby sitter weighting heavily on him.
“I write her often, as much as I can. She was...well, a surprise to my parents to say the least. I was 15 when she was born. I left home at 20. I was only around for her toddler years. I never got to see her grow, blossom into a young woman. I missed so much.” Jaskier had to fight back the tears, his throat becoming tight and dry. His body filling with regret.
“I just kept pushing it back Geralt. I alwasy said I’d make it home. I alwasy had it in the back of my mind to go back and see her. But I never did.”
“Why now?” Geralt asked.
“She wrote me a few months back. It was nearly a book. It was filled with tales of her new travels around our country. She had been training heavily with an unmanned matester of combat. She traveled the countryside with the man. She referred to him as an uncle. In the letter she asked me if it was true that I’d been traveling with you. She said the songs and tales of Jaskier the Bard traveling with the White Wolf made it to her ears.” Jaskier stopped talking for a brief moment, rummaged around his rut sack and pulled out a notebook. He untied its string and a large pile of papers fell out into his hand. He unfolded the parchment and scanned the writing.
“I wrote her back that week. Only to receive this in return.” He began to read;
“Oh dear Jaskier!! I cannot believe its true. I thought he was only a legend. The white wolf. Please tell him he is a hero here. We love his stories. Many have written books of him. Children run round calling themselves the butcher of Blaviken here to save the damsel and distress. I love his stories, mainly because they involve you. Please come visit me this year. I miss you terribly. I want to hear of your travels with the wolf. Mother said he is more than welcome to stay if he wishes to travel with you. I do miss you Jaskier. More than I think you know. I do not mean to guilt you or make you feel bad as i know you are traveling the world to your heart's content and would never want you to feel as though I do not support you-“ Jaskier stopped reading for a brief moment. A small tear dripped onto the page he was reading. Geralt listened to every word he read. He couldn't help the small tug of his lips when he read about the children pretending to be him. It was a breath of fresh air for the witcher. He had constantly been told he was a monster. To hid your children from him. Yet here was an entire country that loved him, yet he had no idea. Jaskier cleared his throat and continued. “But i miss my brother. And maybe, just maybe. I could come with you. If you deem me fit. I have been working tirelessly with a friend of fathers. He trains me in not only swordsmanship, but Herbology, and monsters as well. I can name nearly every monster that has inhabited the Continent and how to slay it. He thinks I’m ready to leave the nest and I think mother and father are getting a bit tired of me as well. I cannot stand another somber, dull, dinner party with nobles who look at me like a piece of meat. So please. Visit me soon. Come and stay a few days. Catch up with your dear sister and maybe, if he isn't too busy and if it doesn’t inconvenience him, bring the Wolf with you. He’d be a welcomed hero. All my love dear brother. Xoxo Love always, (Y/N) Irene Pankratz
Jaskier folded the letter, placing it inside his notebook before safely storing it inside his sack again. He ran a hand over his face, his eyes slowly moving from his hands to his best friend. They sat in the silence for a while. Geralt’s brain replaying the words he had heard from his friend.
“You could have told me about her Jaskier. Why didn't you? You’ve been in contact with her all this time, planning to see her and your family again. Bringing me along for the ride, yet not a single word in 7 years. Do you not trust me with such a secret Jaskier?” Jaskier was taken aback by his friend's words.
He never knew his secrecy would have such an impact on his friend. When it came to Geralt he learned long ago, the little words, the better. The witcher can only handle so much before he loses interest and stops listening or walks away. He never in a million years would have thought he cared about his life that much. It warmed the bards heart to know his dear friend, the only brother he ever had, cared that deeply for him.
“It has nothing to do with not trusting you Geralt. Is has everything to do with the shame I hold for not seeing her sooner. For treating her like a dirty secret form the world. There is no logical reason for me to keep my family such a big secret. Yet I have. For 20 years.” Geralt’s hands rubbed together softly as he listened to his friend. He understood the secrecy. He was a box full of secrets that nobody could get into.
“Its okay Jaskier. I understand the secrecy. Is that where we are going tomorrow?” Jaskier nodded, a smile appearing on his face.
“Her birthday is the next full moon. I’m hoping my gift will be a good start in time lost.” Geralt looked at him curiously. He hadn't noticed any major item in Jaskier’s possession that could make a good gift for a young princess.
“You’re her gift Geralt. I wrote her back after that letter and told her I’d be back for her next birthday. But that you simply were to busy with your work. I told her that you greatly appreciated her support and that youd consider writing to her in the future. She has no idea your coming with me.” Geralt didnt know how he felt about being a gift. He never ever saw himself as a gift to anyone. More of a burden the a gift. He shook his head at Jaskier and tutted at him.
“Jaskier if your that broke you could’ve asked me for a few extra coins for a real gift.” The witcher attempted to joke with the bard. It made Jaskier smile more. Geralt could be funny, but his humor was incredibly dry, much like Jaskier’s father.
“Geralt! Did you just try and joke around with me??” Geralt rolled his eyes, laying down stretching his muscles as he looked up at the starts.
“Best get some sleep Jaskier, you’ve got a rather big family reunion tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
The next morning Jaskier was up and awake before Geralt, a rare sight. He truly hadn't slept more than a couple hours that night. His nerves kept him awake. He feared his sister wouldn’t be as loving as he pictured, she had every right to be mad at him, hate him even. By the time Geralt was up, Jaskier had bathed, changed and had his horse completely ready to go.
Geralt had to do everything in his power to not laugh at his friend. He looked rather ridiculous. His normal bright attire was replaced with a royals outfit. A green and blue velvet tunic and some extremely uncomfortable looking black trousers. His hair was combed back and his face was freshly washed. He even cleaned under his fingernails. He looked rather ridiculous in Geralt’s opinion. He couldn't help the low chuckle that left his lips as he put his bed roll away.
“I don't understand why you're laughing. I have some clothes for you to put on as well.” Geralt’s expression changed instantly, from humorous to angry.
“No. Absolutely not. What I’m wearing is perfectly fine. I’d wear it to meet any king or queen.” A bag was chucked at him, he barely caught it before it smacked into his face.
“This isn't any normal king and queen Geralt. This is my family. And besides, you are no ordinary witcher in my kingdom, you’ll be treated as royalty there. You may as well look the part.” Geralt huffed and threw the bag of clothes back at his friends feet, glaring daggers at him. He hated dressing up with a burning passion. Everything was too tight, not easy to fight in. If anything happened he’d have to rip the seams on every piece of clothing to be able to maneuver his weapons properly. And fancy clothes dont have space for weapons. He didn't like that one bit. Jaskier looked at his friend. His eyes pleading with him.
“Please Geralt. Just for today and her birthday. I couldn't care less what you wear at any other point on this trip.” He had walked closer to Geralt now. About a meter away from him. He extended his hand, the bag in his hand. Geralt looked from the bag to his friend. His teeth and jaw clenched.
He let out a loud huff and grabbed the bag from the bard.
“Fine.” He said through gritted teeth and began taking off his clothing. Jaskier smiled before turning his attention to Roach, getting her stalled and tacked so when Geralt was dressed they could leave.
“If we move with a bit of a haste we could make it there before breakfast.” Jaskier said as he mounted his horse, looking at his friend. His hand slapped over his face. The witcher looked utterly ridiculous in his new attire. The bright red and orange vest a-top a cream tunic, his legs tight in some disgustingly ugly corduroy pants. The pants were obviously smaller than the seamstress he bought them off claimed them to be. The ends of the pants came nearly mid calf on Geralt’s legs. His pasty white ankles and feet shining in the early morning sun.
“Jesus Geralt. Those are worse than the ones I got for Pavetta’s party.” The bard could no longer hold in his laughter. Did Gerarlt look like a nobleman? Sure, but his size, white hair, and bright yellow eyes really didn't help the situation.
“Jaskier, I will kill you for this.” Geralt grumbled angered as he pulled his socks up his feet and over his calves. Luckily for him (and Jaskier) his boots went higher than his pants, making it harder to notice that the pants he was wearing were way too small.
“At least I’m not making you wear a big hat with a feather, those are truly hideous.” Geralt mounted Roach, more carefully then he normally does in fear his pants could bust at the seams.
“I had to wrap you up nice and pretty to present you to my sister.” Jaskier commented as he led his horse; Napoleon to the main road, Geralt and Roach in tow.
The two men rode in a comfortable silence for some time, but as they got closer and closer to Jaskier’s home, all Geralt could hear was his frantic heartbeat. Jaskier’s palms get sweaty and his throat dry, no matter how much water he drinks from his water skin.
“Jaskier. You need to calm down. Your fucking heart beat is driving me insane.” Geralt hissed. They could see the end of the valley they had been traveling in. Geralt looked out in the distance, his eyes saw the castle first. It was very far, but he could tell how beautiful it was from where they were.
“Maybe you just shouldn’t listen to it then.” Jaskier barked back.
“You know I have no control over it, idiot. Take a deep breath. I know you're scared, I understand. But from the sounds of it your sister desperately misses you, I don't think she would ask you to come see her if she was going to hate you.” Geralt didn't talk much at all, that everyone knew. He was a man of few words. But when he did speak it was wiser than most people ever expected. People tended to forget the age of the white haired man, as he stopped ageing physically in his late twenties.
Jaskier smiled softly at his friend's words, he listened to him and took a few deep breaths, calling himself down. Geralt was right. His sister seemed eager as ever to see him again.
The two men approached the entrance to the city. Geralt was more than shocked. He wasn't sure if he had ever seen a city so beautiful in his entire life. The streets were lined in beautiful stone, flowers, vines, greenery all around every corner. The banners that were hanging on the outside of the main gates caught Geralt’s eyes. The crests on them were brightly colored in greens and blues, a very large diamond in the center. Their horses rode into the entrance of the town. Jaskier’s heart was calm, steady, his face was bright and had a smile Geralt had never seen on him before. He was finally home.
“Welcome to Inritha (In-Rithe-A) the capital of Unthya (Un-The-A) Geralt. Welcome to my home.”
Their horses traveled down the stone brick road slowly, the city was buzzing already even with it being the early hours of the morning. Geralt was surprised to see everyone look so...happy, care free. Enjoying their lives. They looked as though nothing was a fret, no monster looming. Geralt was mesmerized by the city. The buildings were built out of what looked to him like limestone, a building material he so rarely saw in other parts of the Continent. The buildings were being taken over by vines and moss, flowers all over. He’d never seen so many butterflies in his life.
“Jaskier-'' his voice was barely a whisper, the bard turning to look at him as they rode side by side. Jaskier couldn't help but smile as his friend admired the beauty he himself had so easily forgotten over the years.
“I know, it's beautiful. I've forgotten myself.”
The two men continued riding their horses up the road closer and closer to the castle. The longer they road tho more attention they got from passer buys. Geralt could hear their whispers.
It couldn't be. Could it?
THE Geralt of Rivia? Here in Inritha?
Mummy look! It's the butcher!!
Has Prince Jaskier finally returned home?
For the first time in what seemed like his entire life, the hushed whispers Geralt heard as he rode through a city were not of hate and disgust. But of admiration and curiosity. The entire time Geralt and Jaskier rode through the city, he never once had the urge to grab either of his swords that were at his side.
The two men approached the gates of the castle, four armored guards stood outside. The put their hand up in motion for the men to stop. One who looked as tho to be the commander of sorts stepped forward poking between both men. Eyes lingering for a long while on the two.
“State your name and what business you have in Inritha at this early hour.” Jaskier dismounted his horse, waking a few feet forward.
“My name is Jaskier Alfred Pankratz son of Dastrill and Alvere Pankratz. This is my companion Geralt Of Rivia, we are here on behalf of my sister, (Y/N) Irene Pankratz’s 25th birthday.” Jaskier bowed his head lowly, keeping eye contact with the commander in front of him.
“Prince Jaskier?!?” The man clearly looked flustered and embarrassed for not recognizing the prince of his own kingdom. All four men quickly bowed their heads.
“Please accept my apology your highness, we welcome you home. As do we welcome your honored guest.” Jaskier smiled and told the men to not trouble themselves with an apology. Geralt continued to watch from atop Roach, still not use to being idolized instead of feared. Honored guest. Geralt thought to himself. He could get use to the new treatment. Jaskier remounted Napoleon the gates to the castle walls opening. The both road threw, all four men bowed their heads as the two walked threw. Not once did they threaten Geralt’s life. They were led by a guard to the stables where they left their horses.
Geralt could hear Jaskier heart beating again in his chest as they were led inside the castle. Geralt tried to concentrate on his friend, to be there for him but he couldn't help but let his eyes wander all over the castle's walls, it was a bright exterior. The walls polished, candles everywhere. Large windows allowing for natural lighting. Nothing dark or gloomy about the castle at all. He felt uplifted..cheary almost. As they neared the entrance to the grand hall where the King, Queen, Princess along with some others were. Geralt could hear the light conversation, and the clicking of silver on plates, they were eating breakfast. But he could still hear Jaskier’s heart beating in his chest. Geralt placed a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder as they walked, giving it a soft squeeze. The action made Jaskier more worried if the witcher was feeling alright, as it was abnormally out of character for the man. But he said nothing, appreciating the gesture.
They got to the door and just as the guard was about to push the doors open Jaskier grabbed his arm.
“Could we maybe skip the loud over dramatic announcements of my arrival? I have not seen my family in years.” The guard only nodded, bowed his head and walked back outside to his post. Jaskier looked over at his friend, as he put his hand on the door ready to push it open.
“Now or never.” Jaskier said as he opened the door. Both men walked into the large room, the talking stopped almost instantly. Geralt stood at the door, not wanting to impose on the important reunion of his friend and his family. He followed Jaskiers gaze to the table ahead of them in the front of the room. The room was lined with huge floor to ceiling windows, the light of the early morning sun shone brightly making the marble floors glisten.
“JASKIER!!!” The loud scream of a girl nearly made Geralt jump out of his skin, his hand reaching back for a sword that wasn't there in instinct.
It made Jaskier jump but the smile that covered his face was even bigger than the one he had seen as he walked through the city. Geralt followed Jaskier’s gaze to a young woman. The sight of her alone made Geralt want to pass out. He wasn't sure if he had ever seen someone so beautiful in his entire life. Her hair was the same chestnut brown that Jaskier had, but it was long, hip length. She had it pulled back slightly out of her face, a few baby hairs framed her face. Oh her face. Geralt thought as though he was looking at a living breathing angel. He heard her chair scrape roughly on the ground before it loudly crashed on the floor. She raced around the long table from her mothers side and sprinted to her brother. She practically threw herself on him. Her arms wrapped tightly around his neck. He quickly wrapped his arms around her, stumbling back a few steps. Everything was quite as the two embraced. Geralt's eyes went to the king and queen who were now standing. The queen looked just like (Y/N) but her hair was black, long stripes of grey peeking through her hair. The crown atop her head glistened in the light. Her right hand was tightly around her husband's arm, her other hand placed softly over her mouth as she looked at her children. Her husband looked much like Jaskier. His hair was the same color as both of their children, but much like his wife’s, much of it had turned grey. His eyes were the same cornflower blue that Jaskier had.
Minutes passed in silence before Jaskier put his hands on his sisters shoulders, pulling her away from him. He put one hand on her cheek as he examined her features. Her pale cheeks were damp with tears. But not sad tears. Tears of joy.
“My sister, how you’ve grown.” Geralt could hear the tears in the bard's voice. He couldn't see him but he could hear everything.
(Y/N) fingers gently brushed over her brother’s face as she smiled at him.
“My brother, how you haven't aged a day. You look just as I remember you. Maybe a few more wrinkles.” She teased. He laughed softly. Wiping his eyes with his hand before pulling her into another bone crushing embrace. She was much shorter than Jaskier, barely shoulder level with him. Geralt was shocked to remember she would be turning 25 in two days. She was still young in the face, beautiful. He wanted nothing more than to see her more up close.
While the siblings spoke their parents moved from the spots at the table, standing behind (Y/N). Alvere was the first to pull him into a tight embrace after her daughter let go. Her fingers gently combed through his hair as she inhaled his scent deeply.
“My dear son how I've missed you.” She whispers slowly into his ear. Geralt was starting to feel bad for eavesdropping. Not that he could help it. He was still standing at the entrance to the grand hall yet he could hear everything.
Jaskiers father hugged him next, it was not nearly as long as the outer two but both men were okay with it. Understanding that their relationship had never been one for long father son hugs.
“It is good to see you again my boy.” His hand clasped down on his son's shoulder.
The four of them stood close together, smiling more than Geralt ever thought possible. It almost made his heart turn. Deep, deep, deep, down the witcher longed for a family that would look at him the way they looked at Jaskier. He often cured the universe for not giving him an option when it came to what he had become. He clung to the few memories he had of his mother. But as years passed they became harder and harder to remember, more painful. But he had. Made a new sort of family over the years. From Jaskier, to his brothers at Kaer Morhen.
“(Y/N), mum, dad, there is someone I’d like you to meet.” Jaskier turned his head towards the door to the hall. Geralt stood tall, shoulders pressed back, his hair framed his face gracefully. Even in the entirely ugly attire he was in, he made himself as presentable and as proper as possible. (Y/N)’s eyes grew bigger when her eyes met his. He once again was taken aback by her beauty. Her eyes were a powerful emerald green matching similarly to the color of her brother's tunic, but brighter. Her mouth fell slightly agape when she realized who it was. The eyes were a dead give away that he was in fact a witcher, but once she saw the silver medallion that rested on his chest, she knew.
Jaskier nodded his head for Geralt to walk forward and he did, his footsteps were light, his pace slow and steady as he walked closer to the royal family. (Y/N)’s hand gently covered her mouth in excitement. Her eyes flickering to her brother who grinned at her.
“A bit of an early birthday gift.” He winked. Once Geralt was closer to the group Jaskier turned so he could introduce them, at his sister's side. All eyes were on him. Even the few people who were still seated at the table were looking at him. He started to feel a bit more uneasy. He started to remember how far away his swords were if he needed them. This alone was beginning to make him panic. He was not used to being welcomed into royal courts unless it was specifically for a hunt.
“This is Geralt of Rivia, one of the most feared, renowned, and skilled Witcher’s the content has to offer. And also my best friend.”
Geralt's eyes were back on (Y/N)’s, his worries dropped more when she smiled brightly at him. Her eyes gleamed.
Geralt bowed his head to the three of them, “ it is an absolute pleasure to meet you, your highnesses.” (Y/N) was nearly blown over by the sultry sound of his voice. She had only heard stories of the witcher. Never see him for herself and definitely had never heard him speak. She never expected a monster hunter to be as handsome as he was. She admired every feature he had. Her eyes fixating on his chiseled jawline, the light gray stubble across his chin and cheeks.
“My, what a pleasure it is to meet such a famed warrior as yourself Geralt!” The king spoke before (Y/N) could, which she was happy about as she did not trust her voice to not waver at his beauty in that moment.
“You my dear are very popular around here. Your stories are legendary. The school children even host yearly plays, Reenacting your most beloved stories.” (Y/N)’s mother added her finger pointing light hardly at Geralt. Her hand came out gracefully from her side to shake the Witcher’s hand. He gently took it, a small smile pulling at the corners of his lips. His attention returned to (Y/N).
“I’m terribly sorry I’m the birthday gift from your brother this year.” She shook her head almost as soon as the words left his mouth.
“Do not be sorry Geralt-'' the way she said his name made him feel as though he could keel over. “I would like to thank you, for protecting my brother for the years you have. He never skips on his gratitude for you in his letter to me. For that we are all eternally grateful for you.” She reached her hand out. Geralt wasted no time in grabbing her hand, shaking it gently. He was dying inside, but he couldn't let her or anyone else see. He took a gentle step towards her, his head lowering softly, his soft lips were placed on the back of her small hand. The small action made the young girls' faces burn red. Her eyes flicked to her brother who smugly smiled, knowing danm well his gift was going to take the cake.
“Well, you both should come join us, we just started eating.” The king said with a smile, with a quick wave of his hand two more places we set.
(Y/N) gently removed her hand from Geralt’s. Walking towards the table, both men in tow. As she reached her spot she moved her plate and glass to the middle seat that had been prepared, leaving Jaskier a seat next to their mother and Geralt a seat next to her. They all sat and waited as food was served to them. (Y/N) could feel Geralt watching her as she ate, her brother deep in conversation with her parents about his most recent travels. But she wasnt listening. Her attention was only on the man seated to her left. She looked over at the man, eyed him up and down then turned to her brother. For the first time she noticed how ugly their attire was.
“Gods Jaskier who dressed you two?” She asked as she sipped her orange juice. Both men looked at her. Jaskier looked a bit hurt and Geralt only snorted.
“I told him the clothes were horrendous.” Geralt said beside the young woman making her giggle. The sound made his heart beat faster. This was also when he realized how sensibly everyone else in the room was dressed, and how much they stood out. (Y/N) was in a thin white cotton dress, it was around knee length and a light sweater was on her shoulders. Her mother and father dressed similarly. Their clothes looking normal, comfortable.
“Oh my dear brother. What have you done to the poor witcher.” She laughed, turning her attention to him. She could see how uncomfortable the clothes made him. The vest was way too tight and he was practically bursting out of his pants, not that she minded, she gladly enjoyed the view.
“He is torturing me. That's what.” Geralt scoffed and she couldn't help but giggle again.
“You're so dramatic Geralt it's truly not that bad.” Her head flicked to her brother.
“Jaskier don't be rude.” She tutted him like a mother, it made Geralt snort under his breath as he took a bite of his eggs. She stood and walked behind him. He was stiff at her movements.
“Do you mind?” Her fingers were on the strings of the vest. He shook his head no and she quickly untied the tight strings, and it fell from his shoulders. She took it off and handed it to one of the maids
“You can burn that horridly ugly thing.” She said as she sat back down.
“I do not remember you being so rude, little sister.” Jaskier quipped.
“What I think is rude is how you made sure you got the more presentable clothing and dressed your poor friend in those horrendous colors. Have you seen his pants, Jaskier?? It's a miracle he can still breath.” Her eyes looked towards the witcher who was already looking at her with a cocky smirk on his face, glad she was putting Jaskier in his place for the ugly outfit choice.
“I can take you to the seamstress later today, if you’d like Geralt.” Her smile was like a drug.
“I’d appreciate that m'lady.” He said softly.
“And I can show you around the city, both of you. But in return I would like to hear some of your stories, first hand if that’s doable.”
“That sounds like a reasonable trade.” Geralt quipped back.
“Then it's a date, Witcher.”
“A date it is.”

~~~~~~~~~~
The brisk autumn air pricked at your cheeks, making you shiver as you clutched your coat tighter around your body. You picked up your pace as your shoes tapped lightly against the pavement. Walking to school was nice this time of year, you loved the autumn scenery which was full of rich colors and leaves dancing in the wind. Winter on the other hand, was another story. It was also quite pretty, yet much more inconvenient and impractical. However, right now it was a pleasant walk.
Before you know it, you're at the entrance of your school, trudging up the stairs. Oh how you longed to be back in your warm, soft bed, asleep. You begrudgingly continued on your way when you heard a familiar voice ring out,
"Y/N! Wait up!"
You recognize the voice without even needing to turn around, it was Jake. Jake had been your best friend since he had moved here from Australia way back in middle school. He meant the world to you. You've grown so close over the years, he practically knows everything about you at this point. And you know all about him as well. You smiled and waved at the cheerful boy as he jogged to catch up with you. Slightly out of breath and with flushed cheeks, he greeted you,
"Good morninggg!" He drew out the last syllable with a dorky grin on his face. You giggled, he was always so cute without even trying.
"Good morning," you replied, happily.
"Kind of chilly this morning, huh? Did you walk to school again?" He asked.
"Yeah, I did. I always walk to school, you know that," you chuckled at his silly question.
"You knowww," he began,
Oh boy here we go, you thought.
"Heeseung would totally give you a ride to school if you'd like," he stated. Jake had made this offer to you a few times, however, you always declined. Heeseung was a close friend of Jake's yet he was merely an acquaintance to you at best, you would feel bad having him drive you around. Especially since he already gave Jake rides every morning.
Also not to mention, you found Heeseung incredibly attractive and you don't think your heart could handle that...
"No that's okay, I wouldn't want to impose," you politely declined like always. Jake sighed. You were always so considerate, almost to a fault.
"Y/N, Heeseung totally wouldn't mind, he isn't like that, you know." He smiled, trying to convince you to accept the offer. Especially, knowing that winter was just around the corner.
"I know...I just would rather not," you said trying to escape the topic as your cheeks began to heat up. Jake sighed defeatedly and decided to let it go as you both continued your way into the building.
The end of the day couldn't come soon enough as you headed towards your final class; physics. Yay. You've always hated physics and although you were a straight A student, your grades suffered in that class. Thankfully, Jake was quite good at physics and was always happy to help. Over time, he basically became your tutor. You scanned the front board to see what the topic of the lesson was today. Like usual, you couldn't make sense of any of it. God, I wish I had Jake's brain, you thought to yourself.
As much as you tried not to, you ended up tuning out the teacher and his lecture as your mind wandered to anything but physics. Before you knew it, class was over and students began gathering their books and shuffling out of the classroom. Shit. I didn't pay attention to any of that. You mentally kicked yourself for slacking off. Well, at least the school day is over. You headed back to your locker where you saw Jake waiting for you.
"Hey Y/N, how was physics? I know it's your favorite class," he said sarcastically.
"Shut up," you slapped him playfully on the arm, "I actually totally zoned out the whole period. Therefore, I'm lost and you really have your work cut out for you as my tutor," you retorted.
He laughed and shook his head, "Y/N, you're killing me!" He said while jokingly clutching his chest in imaginary pain.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry I should honestly be paying you at this point," you laughed.
"Nah don't worry about it, I'm happy to help," he said. Gosh he's so sweet, you thought. Sometimes you felt like you didn't deserve him. But if you ever dared to say that out loud, you know you would receive an immediate rebuttal from him. Because that's just how Jake is.
*BZZZ* *BZZZ* * BZZZ*
You rolled over and groaned. Ughhh, it's already time to get up? You had stayed up later than usual the night before. You had been facetiming with Jake as he tried to explain your physics homework to you. Unfortunately, it took you quite a while to understand it since you hadn't paid attention in class earlier that day.
Just 5 more minutes...you thought as you lazily snoozed your alarm.
*****
Your eyes fluttered open as you awoke for the second time. Hm, that's weird. Why didn't my alarm go off yet? You grabbed your phone to check the time. You squinted as your eyes adjusted to the bright screen. Oh shit. You had overslept for 45 minutes. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. You mentally cursed at yourself as you scrambled to get ready in half the time you usually do. You frantically threw on your school uniform and hurried to the bathroom to brush you teeth. You gasped as you saw your reflection. You had the worst bed head you had EVER seen. Just my luck. You quickly threw your hair up into a half updo. Guess I'm going for the messy look today. You hurried downstairs and grabbed a granola bar on your way out. You headed down your driveway only to see a car parked on the side of the road right in front of your house. You were a bit confused but as you got closer you were met with two familiar faces. Oh no. This is Heeseung's car. Your stomach did a backflip. Heeseung smiled and gave a small wave as Jake greeted you from the passenger seat,
"Hey, Y/N! Sorry for the surprise, I knew you would never accept the ride but the weather's getting colder and I don't want you to get sick," Jake rambled.
"Jake told me that you walk to school every morning, but I don't mind giving you a ride, it's no problem at all," Heeseung added with a kind smile.
You appreciated the kind gesture, however, you were mortified. Here you were, looking like the hottest mess of the century in front of the hottest boy of the century. This can't be happening. Of all days, why today?!
You smiled meekly, "Wow, uh, thank you that's very kind of you! I guess I'll take you up on that offer since you already went out of your way to come here," you said apologetically. The two boys smiled at you as you opened the car door and climbed into the back seat.
*****
So far, the ride had been fairly quiet until Jake suddenly broke the silence,
"Y/N, did you do something different with your hair?" Jake asked as he turned around to face you.
God, why did he have to bring that up??
"Uh, yeah, I actually woke up late and my hair was a mess so I just tried to make the best of it," you laughed nervously.
"Ohh, well it looks nice!" he complimented.
"Yeah, you look cute." Heeseung added with his eyes still on the road.
You froze. Your brain began malfunctioning as you tried to compute what Heeseung just said. He called me cute. You chuckled anxiously as you felt your cheeks burning up.
"Thank you," you said shyly.
Jake had noticed your abrupt change in body language, which confused him. But then, it all clicked. Oh...She has a crush on Heeseung. He didn't know how he hadn't noticed it sooner. He grinned to himself, amused by his realization. Suddenly, it made sense why you never accepted a ride.
