Bowser x GN!reader || Wedding Scenario/ Fluff?/ SLIGHT angst.

(If nobody will take Bowser, you shall >:3)

You stood Infront of the door leading to the wedding area. You were rather nervous, but didn't want to keep Bowser waiting. As much as he loves you, he doesn't have that much patience, and would likely begin to worry.

You begin to recollect all the moments from when you met him. He took you in when you were injured, but only because it was beneficial. You were like a prisoner. A toy. Hell, you didn't even have your own bed, but that is to be expected, you're a prisoner, not a room mate. You just slept in the living room. But all so suddenly.. he began to warm up to you, and you did the same.

Every now and then, he'd talk to you or check up on you, or sometimes even invite you to watch a movie or something with him. You felt like you guys were going to become friends, but really nothing more.

...

Now you were..here.

"I'm marrying a turtle like creature..let alone the KING of his species.." was all that could repeat in your mind.

But you knew this is what you wanted..

..So out you walked, and were instantly met with various Koopas cheering and clapping. In your line of site was the big turtle himself, Bowser. His eyes were glistening, like an excited puppy, and he had a warm smile on his face.

Once you made it to your position, Kamek began to clear his throat, letting the audience know to settle down.

"Bowser, do you take (Y/N) to be your lawfully wedded partner?"

"I do."

"And (Y/N), do you take Bowser to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do." You replied confidently.

Kamek then spoke once more. "Very well then, you may now kiss the Koopa."

Your now husband cups your face in his hands and gives you a long smooch, one that leaves butterflies in your stomach. But despite that, you melt into it, not having a worry in the world as long as you have him by your side. The clapping of the crowd muffles in the background as your ears only focus on Bowser's eyes, and his voice. The perfect light from the sun only enhanced this warm feeling you two shared.

"..I love you, (Y/N)."

You smile at this.

"I love you too, turtleboy."

"Heh. It's weird to think a long time ago we didn't even get along. But now..here we are."

"Well, It's a crazy world."

He jokingly scoffs at this new title. "That's KING Turtleboy to you, tiny." Oh, right. You were shorter than him.

Timeskip !!

It was now dark outside, and you and Bowser, exhausted from all the talking and dancing, were just now entering the castle. He carried you down the hallways as your head lay under his chin. Soon enough, you were in his room, a place in the past you were often forbidden from. He set you down on the side of the bed and sat next to you.

"You look handsome in that suit." You smirk as you put your hand on top of his.

"Hehe, I know." He closes his eyes and beams a smug smile. "As much as I love to wear it, can't sleep in it. That's asking for the worst sleep of your life."

"Aw.. "

"What? Am I not handsome without it?" He jokingly pretends to be offended.

"That's not what I meant!" You nudge him back softly.

11:15 PM

You were awoken by the sudden aura of emptiness around you. You look to your other side, and notice your companion is nowhere in sight.

"Bowser..?" You call out as you begin to walk around the castle halls. You then halt when you hear a faint dripping sound. You peek around the corner and see your husband sitting at the table, dressed rather adorable. You smile seeing him, and walk into the kitchen yourself.

"Hey, why are you up so late?" You ask, tilting your head slightly.

The big teddy bear of a turtle jumps slightly at your unexpected voice. "U-Uhm!.. Just grabbing a glass of water. Couldn't sleep, ya know."

"Aww, did I scare you?" You ask smugly.

"O-Of course not! Nothing scares the great King Bowser!"

"Oh! That's right, my knight in shining armor." You say as you dramatically lean into his arms, which then wrapped around you softly.

"Alright, before we get all lovey dovey..I have a question." He spoke, his tone slightly softening.

"Yeah?"

"I'm..not a monster right?" He firmly asked.

"..-"

"You didn't just..marry me because I'm some king, or to get some magical star..right?" He looked down at you with the same puppy dog eyes he had during the wedding earlier, though instead of a smile, it was a frown filled with anticipation, yet hope.

....

"Bowser..I married you because I love you. I don't care about royalty or stars or any of that. I care about you." You assured him, holding his hands in yours.

That moment.. his frown turned into his warmest smile. He hugged his newfound love, and you embraced the hug with ease. He makes sure to be gentle with you. To be a large guy, he has an even larger heart. You can feel his relaxed heartbeat as you lean into his arms even further. You wish you could stay like this all night.

He may be the King of Koopas, but he's the king of your heart now too.

(Err, hope you guys enjoy? It's my first time writing an actual oneshot fanfic, so I'm not the best. If people like this though, I may write a second part where said reader meets Bowser Jr.)

There is so much stuff that didn't make it into the Reunion Comic... but I don't want it to go to waste.

So have a little something in-between the Coronation and Reunion;

The day was long. Again.

Kamek dragged himself through the corridors on his way to his last duty of the day. It was past midnight already!

It's been 5 months since they created the healing sphere in which the King of the Koopa was locked in, to- well... heal. It needed four Magikoopa to build that giant thing, but fortunately, only one to run it. Kamek and Kammy took shifts since Kamek still had his duty at the side of their new King. And since this one had no experience in ruling whatsoever, this job was even harder than before.

Not to get it wrong, Luigi's doing great. But since Bowser's absence, things in the Kingdom were going out of hand. But there was no fault to seek in the new Ruler.

Bowser promised Luigi would surprise them all. And this Kamek could confirm almost every day. Luigi was kind. He had a feeling for situations that were in immediate need of de-escalation, he was willing to put himself into everything, and he was fair. Yet scared all the time...

The citizens who came to bring their concerns and requests to the king sure were not convinced at first. But some of them already met King Bowser and sometimes were scared to ask of anything at all. Then, while talking to Luigi, they relaxed visibly, and chit-chating was about to become a common thing with the King. And Kamek was certain they liked their new Ruler.

One time, he wasn't fast enough to react, Luigi jumped from his throne to hug a desperately crying single mother who asked for help. Her husband died in one of the (already countless) riots at the borders of the Lands. He just wanted to get a surprise for their anniversary and wasn't even involved in the sedition....

Kamek was thrown off his thoughts as he reached the healing chambers. The door was ajar, and the light of the sphere was showing through. The Magikoopa could hear a voice, reading with passion about a dragon and a village in flames. He knew this part too well! It was Junior's favourite book. How many times had Bowser or himself read it to him...

Kamek entered the chambers.

"Luigi?" He asked, the reading stopped.

At the bottom of the sphere sat an exhausted looking King, bags under his eyes, book in hand, and a loud snoring Junior on his lap. His hair had grown out, and Kamek didn't know if he did not want them to be cut short or if he was just prioritising other things. Luigi leaned on the sphere, which caused the magic glow to alter.

He smiled. "Kamek. Come sit with us. We're about to get to the best part."

"How?!"

"How- what?"

"The world could go down, and you'd still find enough time for them... how?" Luigi only shrugged. "And how often did you read that thing already?!" Kamek pointed at the book. "And why are you still reading? Junior is fast asleep already. "

"Who says I'm reading to Junior right now?" The King laughed and craned his neck to look at the shadow inside the sphere, then he smiled. "I know Bowser can't stand this book anymore. He told me the last time we read it to our little one here. " Then his smile turned sad. "I keep reading this to him until he wakes up just to make me shut up because he can't stand it anymore. "

At this, Kamek snorts unexpectedly fast and loud

Which led to them both laughing a couple of minutes straight.

Kamek cleared his throat and adjusted himself before talking. "You should go and rest yer majesty. Don't make me use my sleep magic on you again."

Y'all I have NOT seen the new BowUigi movie trailer BUT WHAY IS THAT.

WHY DID HE DO THAT.

I saw it in MULTIPLE POSTS here and the way my jaw dropped is undescribable. The way I jumped is not enough to explain what I felt and saw. The way I cried is not enough to say how I feel. My shock was surreal. My eyes widened. I sweated. My eyes both twitched.

I can't even text my thoughts they're going too fast on one thought to another and OMFG is that Luigi in a cage like in a BowUigi comic I read.

Is that Bowser LITERALLY HOLDING UP LUIGI'S FACE.

Is that Bowser not using his CLAWS.

Is that Luigi shifting his gaze from his fingers to BOWSER'S FACE.

ANALYSIS RIGHT NOW.

So first thing first, as another person said (@mau-is-maybe), the cage scene is most likely happening BEFORE Luigi meets Bowser face-to-face. We can deduct that by the fact that in the holding-Luigi's-face-up scene if you look closely you can see his right part of the mustache is messed up. Second thing, why is Bowser NOT USING HIS CLAWS? Be serious, if HE REALLY WANTED to scare Luigi and force him to admit where Mario is, WHY didn't he use his claws or worse.

Assuming this scene happened AFTER the hair pulling, WHY IS HE DOING IT??? There was no need to do that and he knows it. He just wanted to do that. AND WHY DID HE DO IT SO F.CKING SLOWLY AND GENTLY I CAN'T DO THIS. I KNOW YOU COULD HAVE CHOSEN TK DO WORSE, BOWSER. BUT YOU STILL CHOSE TO CARESS LUIGI. He's so clearly f.cking flirting I don't know if I can laugh at it. He did it slowly to see Luigi's reaction.

And WHY did Luigi shift his gaze from BOWSER'S HANDS AND FINGERS to HIS FACE??? HE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK SCARED LOOKING AT A TALKING DRAGON-TURTLE FROM ANOTHER WORLD THAT'S """THREATENING HIM""". Most I can say is that he looked worried, but not scared for his life because of Bowser.

DON'T SAY "children are going to see the movies and Bowser isn't evil to his core" I KNOW IT DAMN WELL, BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. THE POINT IS THAT BOWSER COULD HAVE DONE WAY WORSE THINGS BUT DIDN'T.

You get magically teleported to another World with giant mushrooms and lava everywhere. You loose your brother in the process. You get abducted by some guys. They take you to a castle. The King threatens but not really you. The King knows where your brother is. He threatens you gently putting his claws under your chin making you look at him. He caresses you with his claws. Presumably imposing dominance over you. He threatens to pull out one of your hair. He proceeds to do it. He puts his finger under your chin and GENTLY caresses you while making you look up and stare at him.

HOW IS LUIGI NOT ONE BIT SCARED FOR HIS LIFE??? LIKE GENUINELY.

AND TALKING ABOUT LUIGI. WHY did he look up at Bowser??? HE KNOWS Bowser wants to impose dominance AND HE STILL CHOSE TO FOLLOW WHAT BOWSER WANTED. He literally stared at all the movements Bowser's hand made BEFORE STARING AT HIM AND DIDN'T HOLD BACK.

HE DIDN'T EVEN THINK FOR A SECOND TO CLOSE HIS EYES HOPING BOWSER WOULD STOP """THREATENING""" HIM. HE WANTED THAT.

Okay so, Thing I realised today

Obsession.

Like, I think he still is, and even the first time we see him, as in 3, his fucking debut episode, albeit he's not that far gone there yet but the beginning of it is right there

he loved 4's content so much, in reality he was trying to make his content so much like 4's as a love letter

like how FNF is a love letter to Newgrounds

except he fuckin sucked at it and it just turned into copying

but like think about it, after that happened, he got obsessed with 4 so much, not just out of hate and to be better than him and all that enemies bullshit but also because he still really admired him and I think he still found it fun to be around him, he just didn't want to admit it (him feeling nice around 4 can also be another thing of their link if we include modern34 as well) because- that's admitting defeat. he's also like, a loner of sorts or at least before all of it, he didn't really have like, a friend to JUST have a friend

even with Bowser, they were kind of friends out of working at the same job so like- and also the dynamics there I bet he wasn't satisfied with

like I bet even beside Bowser he felt lonely, and definitely partly because he way too obsessed with 4 to realise that he actually had people in his life

like lowkey his life kinda crumbled out of his grasp then because he let his obsession with 4 get this much to his head, to the point of doing things without planning even- I mean, I bet he didn't plan to EAT the god damn youtube remote

and like you can kinda see the same thing with his heist gang who were replacing the others in Youtube arc, he didn't care to be a good leader, all he wanted is to satisfy his obsession with 4, which is probably why that crew like, didn't get to grow a stronger dynamic, HE was the weak link in all of this and made the team like that

And now you might be asking, what does this has to do with Trash Friends?

You see, before genesis kicked off and like the whole 10 year anniversary

I mentioned this before and I still hold to it, 3 got to redeem himself not because of suffering, but because of finding an outlet for himself- that ISN'T 4!! He didn't take over the Graveyard to take revenge on 4, he took it over because 1, it was kinda his destiny and 2 because he had to survive somehow and he found purpose in it

And now, shit mellowed out BECAUSE he wasn't so obsessed with 4 anymore, at least not like that

which meant he wasn't in 4's shadows anymore

even though the universe paired them up (in more than one way :3) he wasn't just 4's obsessed kind of stalker anymore

AND NOW- why oh WHY is Trash Friends so significant? Because 3 is fearful and lives in the past

"You are just a worse version of me" it's like he's recalling the past, he doesn't want to go back to that, to go back to the old ways when 4 didn't consider him a friend, he's so so scared of fucking that up and like- like like like- if we go further on this, isn't it so obvious? They're both like, anxiously cling onto the past, even though they've grown now, they keep regressing because of the fear

and I think- I think Trash Friends started to remedy it

BECAUSE it broke the cycle. 3 opened up, 4 realised how he's been thinking in the past too and probably felt awful for it

I don't think it SOLVED it persay but it definitely started to

like I do wish we saw a little more of that with the 2 like, even if just for a tiny scene, taking their time to communicate

because I'm prrretty sure that was what Trash Friends was supposed to be starting

and not gonna lie, probably why we get the silly videos with them working together

but I do wish wish wish we saw a little more of them talking about it

But I can definitely say, there's still things they need to discuss, things to fully get over and to get stronger together, especially pointing at SMG4 simulator with 3 seemingly being an epic rare special catch of sorts and YET still being negative points and also the timer skipping 34, like 4 is trying to push aside his feeling for 3

which is why I think if they do it right with the right things, smg34 becoming canon could be one of the most natural processes of SMG4 history

Ppl who can't just enjoy an evil character, and think it's a moral failing if anyone else likes that character are exhausting, and I'm pretty sure slept through any lesson about literary understanding.

Yeah. I mean, it's fine not to enjoy evil characters, or any kind of character, for any reason! But... Yeah, while I don't love that trend of groups accusing each other of lacking media literacy because I feel like it often obscures the core disagreement and any difference of perspective people may bring to the table while both having genuinely interesting points to bring up, it does become pretty exhausting to be morally scrutinized about extremely tame opinions about extremely tame characters.

To me, liking Ganondorf is like... barely above liking Bowser in terms of moral despicability? Not to equate the two at all, as they are very different beasts, but we are talking about a videogame villain made to vaguely scare off children/give them a thrill about feeling like a hero. At the end of the day, this is the purpose Ganondorf serves in the story: being the fairytale evil king that you can defeat and still feel good about yourself (then Wind Waker arrived etc etc but even then, he served that purpose and extremely well even in Wind Waker).

But I don't want to underplay the weight of what I'm generally saying on this blog either and I don't want to hide behind "lol it's just a game for children" when it's an argument I hate to see deployed to undermine other people's feelings about the series. I do come at this character with loaded language and pretty heavy terms, and I'm not sure I would have gotten this kind of hostility if I had just twirled my hair like the rest of the (much more reasonable and less invested) internet, and kept some terms I have used (justifyingly so imho) out of my virtual mouth. It can provoke. It's meant to. I understand these feelings can take some strange shapes when they lash out undigested.

THAT BEING SAID.

Okay, sure. You want me to acknowledge the evil bad guy is evil? Okay! Let's do it, right now. Ganondorf commits atrocities. He does weirdly specific and horrible things to the gorons. He kills people and he kills half-gods. He is tyrannical. He is a conqueror and a warlord. He is a thief. He is self-obsessed and entitled. He beats up kids. He practices necromancy. He terrorizes his followers. He lies and manipulates. If you look closely he is even associated with, like.... the devil....? like maybe there's even "demon" somewhere in his title card?

Okay. Very bad. Evil. Horrible nasty man. Weird eyebrows. Arguably weird name. One star. Blocked and reported.

Okay.

...now what?

Like, what do we do from this point on? What did we learn? What did we ponder upon? What touched us, or moved us, or made us see the world in a slightly new light? Are we reassured? Do we sleep any easier at night?

I know it doesn't always have to be the point of art, to question everything constantly. You can go to art for reassurance and simplicity and easy, comforting thrills --and Zelda is great at doing this as a series, it's a huge part of why I love it. It feels safe, and that's such a nice thing to rely upon! And you can stop there!!! It's allowed!!!!!!

But if you go out of your way to shame people investing and questioning this piece of fiction they love in their own way because it threatens your moral safety and the simplicity of your relationship to that media (and/or the world at large)? That becomes a you problem my (gender neutral) guy, and by that I mean: you becoming a problem for others to deal with, regardless of Circumstances.

SUMMARY: Luigi found himself in a strange alien world, alone and terrified. But perhaps this place isn't so bad?

Chapter 8:

A rumble disrupted the quiet night. It was sudden and loud, forcing Luigi to get up from his bed after minutes of waiting for someone to appear, scared by what that might mean. There were no shouts, no movement outside in the halls, so the plumber decided to find someone to ask what was happening despite his reservations. At first he was taking careful steps and looking around to be safe, but when nothing else happened, he started to walk faster and then he sprinted through the halls racing passed door after door. There were no guards like he's seen previous times he was out of his room. It was getting darker, light getting extenguished. Where's Bowser? Where's Junior? He desperately thought.

A squeak left his mouth when a shadow suddenly moved in front of him in a different corner. Then a strike of lightning. It was Kamek, who was flying in his broom. He had to be really focus for he didn't notice the human standing there.

Taking a deep breath, he decided to follow the magikoopa and only stopped when the koopa entered into what he remembers to be the throne room.

"Where are they?" The voice sounded familiar. Tired.

"They are heading towards the secret passage!" That was someone else for he didn't recognise the voice.

"That soon?" There was a pause. "Delay them. Do anything to stop them!" Luigi covered his mouth to keep from escaping the whimper that wanted to come out at hearing the growl. Danger, his mind screamed.

"Yes, sire!"

"I'm not ready, Kamek. I haven't-" The King was interrupted.

"You got this, sire! Your line is perfect, and you have the star. That should be enough." Kamek assured him.

"I know that! But you don't understand, these last days I haven't been thinking about her at all." He groaned, his stomps getting closer and closer to the big doors where Luigi was eavesdropping.

Merda! Luigi took many steps back, careful to not make any sound before sprinting down to another door and close it behind him. He shouldn't have spied on them, he shouldn't have left his room. Why did I do that? What were they talking about? Soon he heard more footsteps approaching and then fading away from where he was hiding. He was panting as silently as he could. Who are "they"? Who is "her"? Why was Bowser angry? Where's Junior?

From one heartbeat to another, "Junior!" Luigi shouted whispered. He quickly moved out to try and find the kid. His instincts were screaming at him there's danger and he couldn't ignore it anymore. He needed to protect the prince. "Whoever they are, I have to do something. I can't let them get away with hurting anyone. I have to do something!" The plumber couldn't remember where exactly was the boy's room but he knew that he will eventually find it. "They've healed me, they gave me a bed to sleep on," He kept on running and whispered to himself as he panted for breath. "I played with the King's son." Recognising the portraits, his brows knitted in determination. "I can't be afraid now. That's what Mario would do." Opening the doors with a bit of difficulty, he yelled the prince's name.

"Weegee? What's wrong?" A sob escaped from the human, kneeling down to hug the small koopa tightly against his chest.

"I'm so glad you're okay." He sniffed. "I heard your dad say some people were coming here. He sounded angry." He hastened to explain, breaking away from the hug, his hands on Junior's shoulders. "You're oki doki, sí?"

"I'm okay! But what do you mean by some people? You mean the princess?" He excitedly exclaimed.

"I guess? Non importa." He shook his head. "We need to hide, we can't stay here where anyone can find us. You know this castle well, right?" He didn't wait for his reply. "We need to find the safest place to hide."

"That would be Dad's room. We go to our nest when there's danger and dad doesn't want us to get hurt?"

"Us? Never mind that. Andiamo!" Taking Junior into his arms, he started to move to the door when the little koopa started to struggle.

"Wait! We can't leave! I'm not permitted to leave before the wedding is done!" Those words stopped the plumber dead in his tracks.

"W-wedding?"

"Yeah! With Princess Peach! Or so Dad told me. But don't worry Weegee, you'll always be my mama." The boy tried to cheer Luigi up not realising the damage his words caused.

Wedding? Thought Luigi, his eyes stinging at the sudden appearance of tears. It was getting harder to breath and it was not because he's been running from one place to another. He felt something chocking him. Princess Peach. Secret passage. Delay them. I'm not ready... The Star Bowser mentioned. Some sort of exchange to stop the wedding, perhaps? Junior, his son. His growl. The danger still inside his system. Everything makes sense now, the King is getting forced to get married!

I've been kinda following the reaction to recent IDW, Frontiers and now Prime's story stuff and after reading enough threads and comments I started wondering: is the mainstream fandom really this easily emotionally manipulated?

I mean it like, you have IDW, you got Surge being painted as this badass and a portion of fandom claiming her as the new girlboss, but suddenly one panel of her looking sad and scared and people go "o no poor babby she has the feelies 🥺". Or the Prime clip with Sonic and Tails that's making rounds right now. Apparently the pretty standard parallel/alternate universe plot of "a character meets a slightly different version of a character they are familiar with so interaction is going to be a little awkward" is enough to make some go into crying all over the keyboard mode because muh feels and muh angst.

Concepts like these sound emotional on paper and they can be executed well, of course, but like, is the bare minimum drama really enough to illicit this strong of a reaction from people these days? Or do fans just... imagine this high intensity of feelings because there are none in the actual source material and then run purely on that?

I don't know. I really don't. I've been feeling so alienated, and I don't want to think that everyone else is stupid and I'm the smart one to not fall for these obvious emotional manipulations.

It's like I'm seeing something different. I don't see Surge having a panic attack: I see her behaving in a wildly OOC way, because this behavior comes out of nowhere - since when does Surge, whose personality has been since page 1 "fuck yeah I wanna fight!", care about "being hurt"?. I don't see Sonic being horrified at the discovery about the true origins of Surge and Kit: I see an asshole who immediately brushed it aside and went to fight a traumatized girl with a grin on his face.

Do you seriously interpret this as HORROR? He doesn't care! He doesn't! What are you guys seeing?!

I've already talked about Frontiers in length. I see the game as empty. There is nothing there. I can't feel bad for Sonic if he gets better 1 minute later. I can't feel bad for Sage's death if she spent most of her time on screen being stubborn (for sensible in-game reasons, but still). I can't feel bad for Eggman being all sad because THAT IS OUT OF CHARACTER. "oh but bowser can be evil and a dad" "oh but muh humanization" it's out of character, sorry. 31 years, and Eggman not once displayed any characteristic that would lead him to feel genuine affection for anyone, let alone an AI. No, Eggman saving Sonic from lava to preserve a Chaos Emerald doesn't count as a good action of his. Sure, Eggman saving Tails from Orbot in Colors was uncharacterisically nice... but you're not going to use an example from a game written by Pontaff, the people you consider on par with the 11th plague of Egypt, as source of good writing, right? You would be consistent, right? :)

I don't even care about Prime. I really don't. It slides off my brain. Oh, Tails became edgy because Sonic wasn't there, okay, sure, there are at least a dozen fanfictions like that.

(the fact that I watched Netflixvania right before Frontiers, and I went through a similar feeling of "why can I only feel rage at this poorly written mess?", doesn't help my mood. I genuinely felt like I lost all my ability to enjoy things)

But I know what's going on with Sonic. The idea that everything from 2010 to 2019 was horrible, flat, OOC and nothing but Cringe permeated the fanbase. So now, any kind of emotional moment, no matter how shallow and try hard, gets praised to high heavens. Add a good dose of Adventure nostalgia (because muh Meta Era if the games reference the Classics, but thank you Lord Flynn for saving the franchise if the games reference the Adventure era), and there you go. (meanwhile I'm still here getting my heartstrings pulled by that one scene of Sonic realizing that he's all alone on Lost Hex and it's all his fault...)

I'm being bitter. I also realize that I'm sounding like an arrogant cock, and I don't like it. I wish I could see what everyone else is seeing. I wish I could love Surge and think of her as the best villain the franchise has to offer. I wish I could gush about how deep Frontiers is. I wish I could be interested in Prime and have something to look forward to. This is not fun. I don't feel oh so smart bitching about stuff that others like, I feel like a thief of joy and not a nice person to be around.

And yet, something as simple as hearing Maria say to Shadow "you used to run so quickly on these slopes", implying that edgy anti hero Shadow used to play on the ARK like a normal child with her best friend before tragedy struck, makes me feel more awful than anything else I've mentioned. So it's not that there is something wrong with me.

Alright well I might as well give my thoughts on the movie

SPOILERS TURN BACK WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!

Okay we clear? Cool. So, The Super Mario Bros movie. It was good but I honestly had no doubt it wasn't gonna be good after seeing the trailers and the promos. Of course as with everyone else my only point of fear was Chris Pratt's voice, but while I was watching the movie I realized its actually okay. It never annoyed me and it even fits Mario somehow (yeah I said it come at me). Now that I'm thinking about it, if Charles Martinet was casted it really wouldn't have worked. Whenever we see Mario in the game he's always happy and bouncy, rarely ever serious or emotional so having a voice like that probably wouldn't have made the more serious parts of the movie work at all and at best I would've laughed at how ridiculous it was and at worst I would've been sinking far back into my chair. No disrespect to the guy at all, he does a phenomenal job in the games, but I just don't think he'd work too well in the movie. He does get a nod to in the movie which is great!

The movie is gorgeously animated and I love how the characters translated perfectly on the big screen. The backgrounds were spectacular. And the way the incorporate the elements of the games into the movie to create this world is *chefs kiss*. Everything makes sense and it's not too on the nose, it's believable.

It's a very simple movie, nothing too crazy and if you have very basic knowledge of the Mario franchise you'll get what's going on like how I did. All the characters acted perfectly to how I expected them to and nobody really annoyed me. My only problem is with Cranky Kong's voice. Sorry, but Fred Armisen's voice just doesn't match up with Cranky's appearance.

Jack Black absolutely killed it with Bowser. He was the perfect amount of comedy and intimidation. AND THE PEACHES SONG THREW ME SO OFF GUARD I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT JUST SIT AND STARE!!

Also, PEACH! Oh my god I loved Peach in this movie!! I was scared and honestly expecting her to be too much of a "strong female character" rather than a strong character who happens to be female and she's definitely the latter. She's kind, she's helpful, she's patient, she cares deeply about her subjects, kingdom and everyone in general and she can kick serious ass too. I'm gonna be honest, in my years of playing Mario on and off I never really cared for Peach, IM SORRY TO SAY, I WAS DUMB KID! But watching her in this movie, I absolutely love her!!! AND SHE GOT LORE ON TOP OF THAT?!??

Also usually I hate the whole male character and female character get shoehorned together and end up falling in love trope, but here? PERFECT!! I also never really cared for Mareach but, I'm a changed woman and I never wanted two characters to get together so bad. I absolutely loved their chemistry as it was so organic. Of course they don't which I'm fine with but, maybe potential in the sequel?

All the action sequences were done great in my opinion and actually exceeded my expectations in some cases as I was genuinely expecting nothing but slapstick but we got a healthy amount of slapstick and serious action.

The final battle and climax was amazingly done!! Ugh that hug Mario and Luigi shared was amazing!!!

Okay now for what I didn't like

I wish we had more Luigi scenes. I understand that he's the one who's kidnapped and is basically the whole reason the movie happens but we got only a few scenes with him either running away or being trapped or integrated. I would've loved maybe a scene with him trying to be brave and find a way out or rally others to help each other escape which could've added to his character. Like it's called The Super Mario BROS movie...

Also Toad is just...there. I get he's the comic relief but he really doesn't do much other than tag along. The most I remember him doing was showing Mario to the kingdom, that's it. Idk maybe do something more to flesh out his character, why is he so eager to help Mario and Peach? Why is he an adventurer? What are his goals? Stuff like that.

Also no chain chomps...worst movie, 0/10, D-tier/j

I heard people were talking about the pacing which yeah it's a little fast but it's not too quick in my opinion. I think if they let certain scenes play out longer it would've benefited the movie.

But over all it's a really good movie. Not ground breaking but really good, happy, healthy fun. And I'm quite impressed considering it came from Illumination.

Here's to hoping this movie will pave the way to a Zelda movie!!

Crane Crazy

Just a short story I wrote long ago on other media, warning this may contain a story of King Olly going crazy because I imagine Olly's Journey folding 999 cranes for whole hours. enjoy at your own risk.

*meanwhile at the castle*

Olly: *folding cranes*

Rubber Bands: uh, boss you've been folding these cranes for hours now, how many do you have to do?

Olly: 1000 cranes

Rubber Bands: 1000 CRANES!? that'll take like days to fold them.

Olly: well he or she shall have the patience to fold the origami cranes, with the 1000 cranes, I shall have my origami kingdom.

Rubber Bands: but that's-

Olly: ugh trust me I have tons of patience, it won't take long

*5 cranes later*

Rubber Bands: hey my king, just checking how you doing.

Olly: I'm fine why'd you ask?

Rubber Bands: well you know, just wanna make sure, you don't go insane while folding the cranes.

Olly: I appreciated your concerns but there is no need, I'm alright, now I must continue. *folding cranes*

*30 cranes later*

Olly: *hands shaking while folding cranes*

*intense music*

Olly: can someone please turn that off?!

Folded goomba: *turns off the music*

*100 cranes later*

Olly: *looks like a crazy lunatic with bags under his eyes and he's still folding the cranes while....jittering* hehehe foldy this, foldy that *insane giggling*

Hole Punch: *comes in* hey boss?

Olly: *still insane* why yes Mr. Foldy I'd love to join you for a teaparty *insane laughter while turning his head around then started drooling*

Hole Punch: ..... *leaves without a word*

*250 Cranes later*

Rubber Bands: *comes in* Olly are you sure you're ok- GREAT BANDY!

Olly: *drawing on the walls while singing a creepy song*

Rubber Bands: Olly!

Olly: *turns his head to Rubber Bands with glowing eyes*

Rubber Bands: *silence*

*500 cranes*

Olly: *reading a storybook to the cranes* and then the origami king  and the origami queen finally have their origami kingdom, and lived happily ever after, the end. sleep tight my babies.

Hole Punch and Tape: *watching Olly*

Hole Punch: is he doing ok?

Olly: *hugs his cranes* my babies, my pwecious wittle babies.

Tape: yeah the king's lost it.

*780 cranes*

Rubber Bands: so how is he?

Tape and Hole Punch: *all beaten up and fill with scratches*

Tape:...what do you think? I tried to talk to him but he went all crazy mode on us!

Jean: *sees them all beaten up and started to laugh* HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Rubber Bands: *sighs*

*805 cranes*

Stapler: *whimpers*

Olly: *Ah my sweet cranes, aren't you just the cutest tings?

Stapler: *scared*

Olly: *turns his head at stapler and with a creepy smile* do you want to play with me too,, doggy?

Rubber Bands: *comes in and gasps* AAHHHH!!

Tape: *comes in* woman! can't you see I'm trying to- Boss!

Olly: *shaking while babbling* I...did it...I'm almost done!

Tape: what you mean the cranes?

Olly: all...I need is...one more crane. isn't that wight my babies *kisses the cranes*

Tape: *whispers to rubber bands* the boss has lost it.

Olly: *insane laughter*

Olivia: you monster folding the princess is too much, you've gone too far, you could've possibly done anything worse except wait *gasp* all those cranes you wouldn't.

Olly: I would and I did, witness the 1000 cranes technique *shakes a bit* he who has the patience of folding these cranes will have any wish granted!

Me: wait a minute, How did you manage to fold all these cranes in a day?!

Bowser: yeh, even I'm starting to feel curious.

Olly: well dear lady, with the power off patience and determination!

Me: uh huh I bet you went on a insane rampage while folding these cranes.

Olly: .... *eye twitching* ANYWAYS MOVING ON BEFORE I DO SOMETHING I'LL MIGHT REGRET LATER!!!

I think Spawny might be possibly the best “subversion” of a Rabbid. Why do I think so? Because he gets real consequences for his actions and he realizes it as well as showing that he regrets it.

The difference in Spawny before being merged with the Megamerge may look night and day but I think it’s actual so interesting to see such careless and chaotic creatures like Rabbids to regret their actions and not being able to do anything about it to the point where they fear everything.

Basically becoming a child. Both literally and figurally.

I love Spawny SO MUCH, and yeah- where to begin... LONG RAMBLINGS AHEAD

One thing I really like about Kingdom Battle in general is, there's no clear villain. I mean, it's the Megabug, but I guess what I mean is the plot was not initiated by some big bad setting an evil scheme in motion. It's a game about being careless and perhaps selfish, and the accidents and regrets that can lead to. Like you said, Spawny was just one normal rabbid causing mischief, and in the process of merging things, ended up merging HIMSELF with his own newfound power, making it an inseparable part of him.

And then you have Bowser Junior, the game's main villainous force that's actually taking initiative, by seizing Spawny and manipulating his powers, often frightening him on purpose. But Junior is himself just a kid, more taking advantage of an already-existing situation and using the cool things around him so he can mess with Mario and hopefully impress his dad, than having some kind of master plan... it's almost like he's just playing (as evidenced by his boss battle being in his "favorite toy" I believe it was called). And by the end of it he has actually come to care about Spawny (I mean heck he's even the person who named him) and is horrified and worried when the little bunny gets kidnapped and regrets what he's done, as the growth of the Megabug has come to endanger not only his new friend but his father as well.

And of course the Megabug itself is more like a force of nature that's drawn to powerful beings, rather than a conscious entity, like it later became.

So really, KB's plot is just an escalating cycle of events that started with chaos rather than intentional malice, and I think that's pretty interesting and rare among video games, Mario games especially, which often rely on central and charismatic villain figures. This was kind of a tangent but it's just something I think is neat!!

Back to Spawny, it's obviously interesting and kind of existentially horrifying to think that he was just a normal, seemingly adult rabbid who got reverted back into a childlike state. I see it as being symbolic of him being so small in the face of the hugeness of his power. "With great power comes great responsibility", right? But Spawny isn't prepared to be responsible. He was just a goofy chaos bunny and now he's almost some kind of divine figure, capable of imposing new identities and new forms on others, birthing them into a new life. He is NOT READY FOR THAT, he doesn't WANT that, he was just messing around but now it's his fate, his destiny, his identity - and he did it to himself. So like you were getting at, this is reflected, personality-wise, by him becoming childlike - scared, vulnerable, fraglie- if I was to sum him up in one word, it would be "overwhelmed". Most rabbids give the impression that by the cartoony logic of their essence, they could survive just about anything (hi Woodrow) but you look at Spawny and you know HE NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED, he is babby. Despite him not appearing in Sparks (Yet!! I'm so excited about the DLC), that game also gave us some interesting things to think about regarding his character. Consider Spawny as a direct comparison with Cursa, who uses a similar power, but relishes it instead of being afraid, using it to create totally NEW life from her merges and seeking to control them. Another interesting thing is that we learn Beep-0 and Spawny have been working on technology together, suggesting that Spawny's childishness is not defined by a lack of intelligence or awareness, but largely - as discussed - reflected in his vulnerability and fear.

I'm super fascinated to see if he'll be able to speak when he shows back up. Intriguingly, unlike say Rabbid Luigi who was also supposed to be pretty childlike but has grown up significantly between games, Spawny doesn't look to have changed appearance-wise at all, which again might go back to his characterization as childlike being more permanent and key to his character, rather than a temporary circumstance he'll grow back out of. Guess we'll just have to see, and come back to this for further analysis later :3

*Wince* "ow! shit-" -i gotta get back up, i gotta keep running, i have to get to that... Castle..!? Screw it i don't care what it is, but i gotta make it there to get away from these things! And make sure i don't trip again-

The sound of those things catching up was right behind them, almost breathing down their neck. Suddenly finding themselves jumping on pieces of a collapsed bridge floating through the lava below, not being able to tell if the Burning sensation is from whats below or the pain in there legs . One slip means death, by either this lava or the skeletons close behind. They claw their way up

-gotta Close the door, close the door!-

/SLAM/

*beathes heavy* "what the- shit-!"

They closed the door on their hair leaving them trapped by the door while those things try to tug back

-i can't get out! But i tried so hard, for nothing... I'm sorry my frien-

*Shink*

The tugging stops. They fall forward, their hair has been cut?

"Huh!? What th-" a small figure with a red coat covering them, along with a mask that hides there face

"!?!, did... Did you cut me loose..? I-i you-"

The person looks in front of them and sees at least 7 more of the things, and upon noticing all of their masks, becomes aware of their own face and pain coming from their cheek. They run their hand across it and see the blood on their hand, then it sets in, they are lost, away from home and there's no way back... What did they run for if they are just lost anyway...

It hits like a ton of bricks. as they run their hand through their now short hair the adrenaline wears off, and they start to cry, not caring for the things around just letting their mind run close to a panic attack

Pat*pat*pat

"!?...."

"Mreow"

They look up to see the red masked thing? Not wearing a mask anymore, passing the mask to the scared human in an act of peace. Its face was pitch black, misty, except for two glowing, yellow eyes. kind eyes, sorry eyes... And they understood

They Take the mask into their hands and look back at the figure who reassuringly nods, and they put it on, their breath slows as the small misty faced one keeps a hand on them to keep then grounded

"*sigh* i- Th-thank you... This helps... but who are you? And where am i.."

A figure with a mask like a gas mask steps forward, and speaks in a raspy tone

"I can tell... You guys seem better. I'm just trying to process all *gestures around* this"

"Shy guys and don't worry you are safe with us human. You have stumbled into the darklands, and our assigned post. Those things chasing you were dry bones, they don't take kindly to outsiders"

"We understand human, don't worry We do not intend to hurt you whatsoever like those things did. Ah we must properly address you, what is your name human?"

"Well After the ad-adventure ive had, i hope-"

"Venture huh? Well its better then just calling you 'human' all the time"

"That's not-.... Yeah venture, god what am i gonna do now, the pipe i came here through closed behind me, and i don't even know who that person i saw wa-"

Venture sits there confused as the shy guys huddle around and have a hushed conversation

"Uh hey... what are you guys talking about?

"Give us a moment, *more hushed talking* well it has been decided by our squad that you could be a good member of the shy guy clan! Now you won't have to be alone"

" a-a what"

"I-... I accept your offer, one question though?"

"A member of our clan under lord bowser! He's always looking for new recruits, and we'll be like your family! so what do you say! "

They contemplate the offer, it's the best they're going to get, and these shy guys seem to be genuine, what do they have to lose?

"Yeah?"

"What the hell is a bowser?"

As promised, here is a sequel/continuation post of my fun little Bowuigi story idea I posted yesterday! (Shoutout to @jelixpo for motivating me to upload the ending of this rough Bowuigi idea (which I'm now calling, "The Secret Alliance,") and to the 30 people who reblogged my previous post and/or gave it a like.)

So where we last left off, Luigi decides to sneak over to Bowser's Castle (without Mario, Peach, or anyone else knowing) in order to talk Bowser face-to-face (for the first time since Bowser's alliance with King Boo) in hopes of figuring out why he's doing all of these bad things (but also more importantly, convince Bowser to stop turning back into his old self).

However, when Luigi finally arrives at Bowser's Castle, he's actually pretty conflicted on what to do.

Now obviously, he could just go up to the front doors and ask the guards to let him in, but there are some problems that could arise from doing that, the biggest one being there's a strong possibility that Bowser ordered the guards to not let anyone (even him) enter the castle.

And considering the fact that Bowser pretty much shut him out for the past 2 weeks..., yea, going up to the front door may be a no-go for our green-clad plumber.

So it looks like Luigi will have to go with plan B.

And what's plan B you may ask?

Well, breaking and entering into the castle, of course!

Now here is where I should point out that this is where the story starts to get...unpolished, so to speak. When it comes to my WIPs and stories, I want to plan out everything down to the wire. While I fleshed out the first part of this story idea enough to where I'm really happy with it, I should warn y'all that there will be some holes/unfinished parts in this second half of the story (and I'll point them out throughout the post).

The first example of the unpolished parts is the way Luigi actually breaks into the castle.

So with this part of the story, I imagine Luigi scaling up the castle walls with a rope/grappling hook. I don't know if I like the idea of Luigi bringing rope with him (cause I don't know what he would've used it for if he hadn't scaled up the wall) and I don't think Bowser or his minions would be stupid enough to leave a grappling hook hanging out in the open for Luigi to actually use.

Okay, maybe his minions would've been stupid enough to do that, but that's besides the point.

Anyway, Luigi is eventually able to successfully climb up to one of the balconies of the guest rooms and enter that said guest room. While every part of him wants nothing more than to leave the room and look for Bowser, he knows that it ultimately wouldn't be a good idea to go up to his 10-foot turtle-dragon boyfriend without kind of knowing what he wants to say to him.

So Luigi uses this time to think. He takes this time to figure out the things he wants to say to Bowser and try to mentally prepare himself for the reactions Bowser will have upon seeing him for the first time in 2 weeks as well as anything Bowser could possibly throw at him (figuratively, not literally).

But oh boy, do things get instantly terrifying for our poor Luigi because this is when he starts to hear the all-too-familiar ghost laugh that gave him nightmares since that faithful night in Boo Woods.

And fear wouldn't even begin to cover how Luigi felt when he turned around and saw the one and only King Boo.

I cannot emphasize to you how horrified and scared Luigi is upon seeing his nemesis. The green-clad plumber talked to E. Gadd last month and the professor reassured him that King Boo was still trapped in that canister from The Last Resort adventure.

So it was a complete surprise to him when he had the courage to ask King Boo how this was possible.

So here is where King Boo tells Luigi about how he escaped. Funnily enough, the method he used to escape from E. Gadd in this story is the same method he used to escape from E. Gadd back in chapter 1 of TBTBWTK (because as I kind of mentioned in the previous post, this story and TBTBWTK were born around the same time so I was trying to figure out what worked with what).

But that's not what's important here because the more significant part about this interaction is this is when everything clicks for Luigi.

Bowser breaking parts of his and Peach's peace treaty, Bowser essentially cutting off all interactions with everyone (especially Luigi), it all suddenly made so much sense.

Bowser was doing all of this because King Boo was making him do it.

And that was when one sudden thought came to Luigi.

He had to tell Mario and Peach.

Luigi has to tell Mario and Peach that King Boo is the one pulling all the strings in the Dark Lands so that they can save Bowser and his kingdom from King Boo.

And King Boo quickly comes to this same realization too because it wasn't long before he started conjuring up some lightning.

And oh boy did that kicked Luigi's fight-or-flight instincts into high gear real quick as he realized that King Boo was going to kill him right then and there.

So luckily for Luigi, he quickly snaps out of his shock and uses his Thunderhand ability to attack King Boo. While the lightning didn't kill or knock King Boo unconscious, it stuns him long enough to where Luigi makes a break for it. Even though he's not entirely familiar with this section of the castle, he doesn't dwell on that thought for too long as his main goal is to find an exit and/or find Bowser.

So here it kind of turns into a cat and mouse chase scene with Luigi running through the halls of Bowser's castle (and screaming for Bowser or anyone to help him (for some weird reason, he hasn't run into a single minion throughout this entire chase scene, but he doesn't dwell on that for very long) and King Boo chasing him and trying to hit him with fireballs (and his tongue) not too far behind. Eventually, Luigi makes it to the throne room and while there's no one in the said throne room, this doesn't ruin the happiness he felt at that moment because not only does he now know where in the castle he is, but he can also now confidently make a mad dash to the exit.

But here is where Luigi's clumsiness comes into play because this is when Luigi trips and sprains his ankle.

Hard.

With Luigi now pretty much immobilized, King Boo starts to kind of compliment Luigi on how he manages him to surprise him (with the surprise lightening attack and all). Unfortunately, because Luigi knows too much about what's going on (and is secretly worried that the green-clad plumber will ruin the possibility of the MK and the Dark Lands declaring war on each other), King Boo sadly remarks on how he has no other choice but to kill Luigi (should mention that he saids this entire scene sarcastically because like in TBTBWTK, I imagine him being an enormous dick).

So as King Boo shoots a huge fireball at Luigi, the green-clad plumber closes his eyes as he braces for the worse.

But the impact never came.

For some reason, the impact just never came.

And when Luigi eventually gained the confidence to open his eyes again, he quickly finds out why.

Because Bowser actually saved him and used his shell to block King Boo's attack.

To say that both Luigi and King Boo were shocked by Bowser's sudden appearance was a complete understatement, but it wasn't long before King Boo's surprise turned into rage.

Now here is when King Boo gets really angry at Bowser for protecting Luigi when they had an alliance. In response, Bowser angrily breaks off his alliance with King Boo and tells him that if he wants to kill Luigi, he'll have to kill him first.

And oh boy does King Boo quickly take up that offer when he blocks off the exits with spectral gates and starts attacking Bowser.

Now here is where we have a big fight scene between King Boo and Bowser. However, because I'm not good at writing fight scenes, think of King Boo and Bowser's fight similar to Azula and Zuko's fight in ATLA (thank you @jelixpo for the ATLA reminder because that is probably how I would imagine their fight would go).

But after a while, King Boo actually gains the upper hand as he slams Bowser into his throne hard. Bowser actually has a really tough time getting back up on his feet (because King Boo is relentless and determined in making sure he takes Bowser down for good), but he able to look up at King Boo in anger and frustration. (Here I should briefly point out that Bowser received a really bad beating from King Boo during this fight and just looks like absolute hell. He has multiple dark bruises all over his body, he has a black eye, he's pretty sure one of his teeth is loose, and one of his arms may or may not be broken, but he's not sure).

Once King Boo sees that Bowser's looking at him, he then does the usually villain monologue and asks Bowser if he has any last words before he kills him for good.

And actually, Bowser does. He takes one look at something behind King Boo before looking back at the ghost king with a smirk and saying this specific line:

"A good villain is ALWAYS aware of his surroundings."

And before King Boo could figure out what the hell Bowser meant by that, Luigi uses a bat (or some other type of weapon, idk) to hit King Boo like a baseball and sends him flying across the throne room. (Here I should mention that while Bowser and King Boo were fighting, Luigi found the said weapon and not only crawled his way to the weapon, but actually waited until the perfect moment to use that previously mentioned weapon on King Boo).

So with King Boo down and out, Luigi rushes over to Bowser (as best he can given his sprained ankle) to make sure that his boyfriend is okay. Bowser reassures Luigi that he's okay (which Luigi doesn't quite believe due to the fact that Bowser still looks like he went through a meat grinder, but he soon pushes that thought to the side because the most important thing that matters to him right now is the reassuring fact that his boyfriend is now safe and okay and that everything can go back to normal).

Well..., not really.

You see, Luigi and Bowser's wholesome reunion is actually cut short by, you guess it, King Boo and oh boy, anger doesn't begin to cover how the ghost king feels at that moment. He was so close, so fucking damn close, to his ultimate end goal of taking over the Mushroom King/entire world, but to have his plan getting ripped away by the stupid cowardly green plumber who defeated him not once, but three times?!

Oh no, King Boo was NOT going to let that slide. Not this time.

So here is where King Boo uses his magic to rip Luigi out of Bowser's grasp and sends him flying across the room. Luigi slams into the wall hard (and I mean hard) to where he starts to feel blood running down his back (and maybe his head, but I'll leave that up to reader's discretion).

But Luigi doesn't have time to dwell on that right now because this is when King Boo starts attacking him (similar to what he did to Bowser).

So here is where we have a second, but kind of smaller, fight scene but this one is between King Boo and Luigi rather than King Boo and Bowser. Now here, since I'll leave this part of the fight scene up to the reader's discretion (because again, I can't write out fight scenes), what I'll point out here is that Luigi is able to successfully dodge all of King Boo's attacks (but with difficulty because of his sprained ankle). I should also point out that every part of Bowser wants to get up and help Luigi, but because he's still too injured from his fight with King Boo, he can't do much other than watch his boyfriend with fear and worry.

That is, until King Boo manifested a knife and used that said weapon to stab Luigi in the chest.

And oh boy did Bowser's internal animal instincts kick in when he heard his boyfriend's gut-wrenching and painful screams.

But before Bowser could have a chance to tear apart King Boo limb or limb, this is actually where Kamek and Kammy break through the barriers and use their magic to defeat King Boo. Now here is where I will point out the second example of the unpolished parts for one huge reason. You see in this story, I imagine King Boo's defeat as something more permanent in that this is the last time Luigi, Bowser, and co. will ever have to deal with him (basically like a lot of villains (other than Bowser) in the Super Mario franchise, like Dimentio and Princess Shroob, to name a few).

So what that means is that how exactly Kamek and Kammy defeat King Boo (or how King Boo is stopped for good) in this story, I'll leave that up in the air because I only have one idea on how Kamek and Kammy could defeat King Boo, but I'm not really happy with how they defeat him.

But there's no time to worry about the logic behind King Boo defeat because Luigi's loosing a lot of blood very quickly! Bowser, Kamek, and Kammy have to take him to the castle hospital and fast!

Time skip to the afternoon of the next day where Luigi slowly regains consciousness. While his brain is a little fuzzy at the moment, he can tell that he's in some sort of hospital and it doesn't take him long to feel the bandages around his body and ankle (and possibly head).

However, that is quickly pushed out of Luigi's thoughts when he sees Bowser right by his bedside. (Briefly want to mention that he looks a lot better than yesterday, but he still kind of looks like hell because of the bruises, black eye, and arm cast sling on his shoulder.)

So after the two lovebirds greet each other and make sure they're both okay, this is when Luigi asks Bowser what happened (because he can't exactly remember it right now). While Bowser is very, very hesitant to answer his boyfriend's question, he eventually tells Luigi everything.

From the night King Boo came to visit his castle to when the doctor told Bowser that it's up on Luigi on whether he'll wake up or not after he brought the tiny human to the hospital, Bowser left no stone unturned as he refuses to take his eyes off of Luigi. Once Bowser finishes telling the entire story (and after Luigi takes some time to digest it all), Bowser is quick to apologize for everything he did (and he actually tears up a little during this scene too). He never wanted to break the peace treaty he had with Peach and he especially didn't want to cut off all ties with Luigi, but...he had no choice. Since the very beginning, King Boo threatened to hurt/kill Luigi unless Bowser did whatever King Boo wanted him to do, so Bowser honestly thought that shutting Luigi out was the best way to protect his boyfriend.

And Luigi instantly forgives him (which really shocks Bowser)! In fact, Luigi actually apologizes to Bowser for breaking and entering into the castle in the first place (which Bowser doesn't understand why he needed to apologize for something so small, but he does immediately tell Luigi that he forgives him) and tells Bowser that he is truthfully just really happy that Bowser wasn't permanently going back to his old and evil ways.

But their reunion is cut short when Luigi remembers that today is the 7th day.

And if you recall from the previous post, the 7th day was when Peach was going to declare the treaty null and void and declare war on the Dark Lands.

And considering that Mario and Peach don't know where he is..., you can imagine Luigi's thoughts spiraling into a panic attack when he starts thinking about the terrifying possibility that his disappearance will cause Peach to declare war early.

However, Bowser quickly reassures Luigi with multiple different things. He tells Luigi that he'll write a letter to Peach explaining what happened over the past 2 weeks (and how he still wants to keep the peace treaty between their kingdoms) and will also send a minion to reassure Mario and Peach that Luigi is currently safe and sound at the Dark Lands for good measure.

Now here is the third (and biggest) example of the story having unpolished parts. After Bowser gives Luigi reassurance about telling Mario and Peach about what happened and Luigi's current whereabouts, I don't entirely know where to go from here. If I had to come up with an ending, I would have it end on a positive note where Mario and Peach receive Bowser's note (and got informed by the minion on Luigi's whereabouts) and quickly traveled to the Dark Lands to make sure that Luigi's okay. This is also when Luigi and Bowser reveal their relationship to Mario to Peach and to everyone's shock, Mario is actually okay with it. Okay yea, he's a little hesitant with Bowser (cause he and Bowser have been rivals for years), but he can see how happy Bowser makes him, not to mention that Bowser saving Luigi's life when he didn't have to is obviously a checkmark in Mario's book. (That doesn't stop him from being the protective big brother and threatening Bowser to not hurt Luigi or he'll kick his ass though, haha. XD)

But aside of that, yea, this is pretty much the entire story of The Secret Alliance.

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who made it this far in the post/story. I know that this post as well as the first post are a lllllllliiiitttttttttlllllllleeeeeeee long (around 3.2k and 2k, respectively), so I sincerely appreciate you guys taking the time to read this all the way to the end. As I've said in the previous post, if anyone wants to do something with this idea, then by all means go right ahead (just let me know if you have something with the idea so that I can see it). :) This is probably the last time I'll ever touch with this specific story idea, but hey, it's at least now out in the open for all of Tumblr to see instead of hidden away in my computer files.

Okay, so do you guys remember how I talked about how both @jelixpo and @deckof-dragons/@anomander-dragnipurake inspired me to write my story, To Break the Bonds Within Two Kingdoms back in the Ao3 chapter 11 notes?

Well, what if I told you that there was another Bowuigi story idea I had in mind while brainstorming TBTBWTK?

That's right, what you are about to read is another rough Bowuigi story idea I had that actually originated back in late April-early May 2022 (right around the same time TBTBWTK was first born). While I ended up choosing TBTBWTK to flesh out and actively work on, I felt bad for keeping this WIP hidden within my computer files for almost an entire year (okay, I kind of told one person about this idea back in mid-November 2022, but it wasn't to the extent of what you're about to see).

And since the Mario movie is coming out today, I thought what better way to celebrate the momentous occasion than by sharing this fun little Bowuigi story idea? :)

Also, before I forget, if anyone wants to do something with this idea, then by all means go for it. (Just let me know if you have done something with the idea so that I can see it.) :) As I just mentioned, this was something I've thought of back in early-mid 2022, but because I want to not only finish TBTBWTK, but also work on a second (and bigger) Bowuigi story after TBTBWTK is done, I figured that it would be better to at least share this rough WIP/idea than to leave it in my computer files for no one else but myself to see.

Anyway, I apologize in advance for the extremely long post (and for any grammatical errors), but I hope you guys like the idea all the same! :D

Okay, so imagine a time in the Mushroom Kingdom where Bowser is living a good life. He and Peach recently signed a peace treaty together (and by recently, I mean like 1 month ago), not to mention that he's been dating Luigi for about 6 months now and has never been happier (per Luigi's request, they are keeping their relationship a secret which Bowser doesn't mind at all).

But on one mysterious night in the Dark Lands, Jerry (yes, the same Jerry from TBTBWTK) informs Bowser that he has a surprise visitor waiting for him in the throne room. Well, this didn't make much sense to the Koopa King. If it was Luigi, Mario, or even Peach, Jerry would've explicitly told him, but the fact that the Hammer Bro. not only refused to elaborate about the visitor, but also seemed kind of hesitant and nervous when Bowser asked for more info about the said mysterious visitor? That just seemed really weird to Bowser.

And oh boy was he right when he stepped into the throne room and saw the one and only King Boo.

Now, even though Bowser wanted nothing more than to kick the ghost king out of his kingdom, Luigi's kindness actually rubbed off on him just enough to where he instead angrily asked King Boo why the hell he's here. When Luigi talked to E. Gadd last month, the professor said that the ghost king was still trapped in that canister from the adventure of The Last Resort, so it didn't make much sense that the ghost king who he thought was trapped is floating right in front of him.

So King Boo explains to Bowser about his new plan. He rants on and on about how he is just so sick and tired of getting defeated and captured over and over again, so King Boo devised a new plan. He figures out that the best way to defeat the Mario Bros. (especially Luigi) and take over the Mushroom Kingdom/rest of the world is by teaming up with Bowser. Sure, King Boo understands that Bowser may not have a good track record when it comes to defeating Mario, but he figured that as long as Bowser distracts Mario and Peach just long enough, King Boo could use that stall to trap Luigi in a painting.

Bowser, of course, shoots down the idea. He explains to King Boo how he just recently signed a peace treaty with Peach and he doesn't want to do anything that would break Mario, Peach, and especially Luigi's trust (although he doesn't mention Luigi to King Boo). And even if he and Peach hadn't signed a peace treaty, he has very well learned from his past mistakes and knows deep down that Mario and Luigi can, and will, easily defeat both of them.

But before Bowser can leave the throne room, King Boo manages to stop him in his tracks by explaining how he knows that he and Luigi are dating.

King Boo also blackmails Bowser by saying that if Bowser doesn't agree to team up with him, he won't hesitate to posses Bowser and force him to kill Luigi with his own hands.

As much as Bowser wanted to call on King Boo's bluff, he's inwardly really scared to. If King Boo was making threats to him, Mario, Peach, or anyone else (should point out that the Koopalings & Jr. don't exist in this timeline, but I'll leave that up to reader's discretion), Bowser wouldn't care about the idea of King Boo possessing him. But King Boo was making an indirect threat to Luigi, the one person Bowser would not hesitate to lay his life down for. If anything were to happen to the love of his life, it would kill the Koopa King (no matter if it was his fault or not).

So Bowser grudgingly agrees to King Boo's plan as the ghost king is excited to finally set his plan into motion. But before he forgets, King Boo mentions one little important thing:

This new alliance they have has to be a secret. No one, not even Kamek and Kammy, can know about it. Everyone has to believe that whatever is about to happen is Bowser's ideas and his ideas alone.

And if anyone finds out about their alliance/plan on their own (or if Bowser tells anyone about their plan), King Boo will kill Luigi himself and force Mario and Bowser to watch.

So time skip to around 2 weeks later where Bowser has caused so many problems to the MK to the point to where Peach is sick of it. She sets up a royal meeting with herself, Mario, Luigi, Toadsworth, and the royal court about what they should do with Bowser. The royal court is honestly spilt on either declaring war on the Dark Lands (they have a justifiable reason to declare war because Bowser has broke parts of the peace treaty) or try to reach out to Bowser and meet with him peacefully.

Eventually, the arguments get so stressful and out of hand that Peach gets mad (and I mean really fucking mad) and orders the royal court to let her, Mario and Luigi discuss this in private. While the royal court (especially Toadsworth) are hesitant on this, they eventually follow her orders and leave the brothers and Peach alone in the room. When it's finally just the three of them, Peach just takes this time to calm down and take a few deep breaths (which Mario and Luigi don't mind and allow her to take as much time as she needs).

Once she is really to talk about it again, she explains to Mario and Luigi how she is kind of dead set on declaring war on the Dark Lands. As a few Toads pointed out earlier in the meeting, Bowser broke parts of the peace treaty, not to mentioned that she had actually privately reached out to him on multiple occasions, but has never received as response back.

Now Luigi (who had been mostly quiet throughout the entire meeting due to his anxiety and his tough decision on whether to stand by Peach or Bowser's side) tries to defend Bowser by explaining how both the MK and the Dark Lands had worked on the peace treaty for almost 3 months (not to mention that they've officially signed it last month) and theorizes that there has to be a reason that Bowser is causing so much trouble that they don't know about. Luigi begs Peach to give him time to talk to Bowser before she decides to declare war on Bowser's kingdom.

Now here, I should point out that both Peach and Mario know that Luigi and Bowser are friends, but they don't know that they're dating. So obviously, when Luigi begs Peach to let him talk to Bowser, Mario (being the protective older big brother that he is) hates the idea. He still doesn't trust Bowser and is afraid that allowing Luigi to talk to Bowser (especially right now) will ultimately get his little brother hurt or worse, killed (it would destroy Mario if anything happened to Luigi).

But despite Mario's protests, Peach makes a deal with Luigi: He has one week to talk to Bowser and make him change his ways. If Luigi succeeds, then she won't declare war on the Dark Lands. However, if he fails, Peach will declare the treaty null and void and declare war on Bowser's kingdom.

So over the course of the next 5 days, Luigi tries to reach out to Bowser in multiple ways. He tries to write him letters, meet at their usual spot on the usual days they hang out together, little things like that. However, none of his ideas work. Now, that's not to say that Bowser hadn't received Luigi's letters. In fact, Bowser has actually received every single one of his boyfriend's letters (at one instance, Bowser started to tear up as he carefully touched Luigi's handwriting, which led to King Boo taunting him on whether he should respond to Luigi's letter or not.), but...Bowser is honestly scared. He wants to tell Luigi that he hates doing what he's doing, he wants to tell Luigi about King Boo's ultimate plan to take over the MK and the rest of the world, but...he can't. He doesn't want to put Luigi in any form of danger, so he figured that the best way to keep Luigi safe is by completely shutting him out.

But that kind of backfires on Bowser because on the afternoon of the 6th day, Luigi gets a new idea.

He gets the idea to sneak over to Bowser's Castle (without Mario, Peach, or anyone else knowing) and talk to Bowser face-to-face (for the first time since Bowser's alliance with King Boo) in hopes of forcing his boyfriend to talk about why he's doing all of these bad things.

But as for what happens when Luigi finally arrives at Bowser's Castle?

Well, I'll leave that up to you. ;)

Daisy: (Sighs Heavily and Relaxingly While Sitting Down on the Bench With Yoshi) I never thought I would ever be happy for Break Time.....

Yoshi: Need some water, mom?

Daisy: Yes, please.....(Receives her Cold Water Bottle Yoahi Gave her and Drinks From it For a Couple of Seconds Before Setting it Down Besids Her) ('Sigh') I dunno about you, kiddo....But TODAY....was one helluva workout!

Yoshi: You can say that again. (Takes a Drink of Water From his Bottle Before Smiling at his Mother) Thanks for being my sparring partner, mom. I had a blast.
