The Origami King and His Pet Doggo Stapler

(Quick note I wrote the 2 stories on amino app, one of them is inspired by a cool pal on amino app)

Olly: *building a sand castle*

Stapler: *gathers the shells to Olly*

Olly: *adds the seaweed*

Stapler: *gives Olly the shells*

Olly: thanks Stapler *adds the shells* almost done

Stapler: *barks*

Olly: *puts a flag on top*

*sand castle is complete*

Olly: yay we did it!

Stapler: *licks Olly*

Olly: aw *giggling* thanks stapler*

I was only planning on doing this for just my ocs but I’ll make an exception cuz you’re my bestie (I’m gonna do my ocs too if that’s alright)

55: What’s something they’re expected to enjoy based off their hobbies/profession that they actually dislike/hate?

Copen: I think a lot of people would expect him to enjoy other art mediums like painting, but I feel like he wouldn’t enjoy painting all that much because he’s more used to using more dry materials like colored pencils and chalk. Rubber band: Rehearsals. I feel like he’s extremely impatient when it comes to putting on a show, and if he’s not the center of attention during said rehearsals, then he’s probably just extremely bored the entire time.

Hole Punch: I feel like people would expect him to plan out his own choreography for his dances, but he’s actually a pretty huge “go with the flow” kinda guy and doesn’t really like planning things out too much.

Tape: Guns and more long range weapons. He prefers to get up close when attacking someone, and probably has terrible aim with those things. He might use a gun if the situation calls for it, but he’s not gonna be happy about it.

Scissors: Training. It’s kind of a combination of Hole Punch and Rubber bands, as they’re very impatient and just wants to fight people, and they’re also extremely over confident in their abilities. They also have the urge to do other things other than training all day. (They do take time to train though, what kind of worthy swordsman doesn’t?)

Luna: When she talks about her ability to see ghosts, people expect her to be some kind of ghost hunter or someone who’s always trying to seek out and capture ghosts. While she loves ghosts a lot, she thinks it’s best to let them enjoy their afterlives and give them their privacy. She even got worried when she found out there were ghosts living in her family’s new home because she felt bad about moving into a place where someone else was already living. She still loves ghosts a lot and will be very interested in ghosts talking to her. She even has a book of pictures all the ghosts she’s met! (She asks for permission to take their pictures of course!)

Teddie: Since his current job is being a scary ghost scaring the absolute shit out of anyone who trespasses in his home, most people would probably assume that he likes a lot of things that terrify or disgust him. Such as bugs or blood or storms. He has his standards.

Mary: I feel like a lot of ghosts would assume that she’d be fine with seeing blood, as she died from Teberculosis. She is, but only in small amounts. She hates seeing high levels of gore. A lot of people would also assume she loves sweets because of her love of baking. She does, but they’re not her favorite thing in the world. Save those for her husband.

Xavier: Most people would probably assume that he’d easily adapt to the modern world with how smart he is. He hasn’t, and he finds a lot of modern day stuff confusing, revolting, or just not worth his time getting to know.

56: If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this change depending on the type of fear?

Copen: He’ll most likely turn to one of the other members of the legion. He doesn’t really like talking about his feelings to strangers.

Rubber band: She’ll literally take comfort from anyone. As long as she has someone to share his feelings with, that’s all that really matters to her. In extreme circumstances, they’ll turn to Scissors.

Hole Punch: He’ll most like take comfort from anyone who’s willing. In extreme cases, he’ll most likely turn to Tape.

Tape: Same thing as Hole Punch. If someone gets stuck in a scary situation, he’ll basically beg for comfort. In extreme cases, he definitely wants Hole Punch there.

Scissors: They rarely seek comfort out from anyone, as they don’t want to seem weak, though they trust Rubber Band the most to talk about their fears with in extreme cases.

Luna: If anyone’s willing to give her comfort and reassurance, she’ll take it. Though, the closer you are to her, the more likely she’ll be able to fully take your words to heart.

Teddie: He’s always gonna want his wife by his side when he’s afraid. If she’s not there, you’re not gonna get through to him unless you really get him to trust you.

Mary: Her husband. However, she’ll take comfort from anyone who’s offering. However, in extreme circumstances, she’s unconsolable with her husband.

Xavier: He has difficulty sharing his fears with anyone. If he’s willing to open up, he will. There is an old friend of his who he goes to in extreme circumstances though…

Oh yes!! Of course! I’m so sorry if I’ve ever come off the wrong way. My main fixation is the origami siblings, who are neither of those in my interpretations, so I haven’t drawn much more variety ><“

Rest assured I have some more diverse designs!! For instance my Rubber Band humanization is both fat and black HAHAH… I just don’t have a final outfit design for her, as with the rest of the LoS, so I haven’t really shared much art of her. I’ve been wanting to draw her again so please send me another ask if you’re interested in seeing because I can reply when I try to draw her again!

I do have other, actual OCs of course, but I don’t really focus on them at the moment. A lot of them are nonhuman, so I don’t really think about what races they’d be if they WERE human. And of course, I do NOT think the following statement is a valid excuse for literally anything, but my fp is black and because of that I like to draw her and similar looking people! I just don’t share it because anything non-fandom related gets no attention.

Craftsman: ok kids, time for a little road trip.

*the 3 went outside and goes in the craftsman's car*

Craftsman: everyone buckled in?

Olivia: yep I'm all set.

Olly: *in his  car seat*

Olivia: uh, brother?

Olly: yes dear sister?

Olivia: why are you in a car seat?

Here are my takes on the Legion's opinions on Olly!

Colored Pencils

Jean seems to act kind of like a kiss up to Olly, he's overly enthused to complete his duties and seems to have a heavy respect for the king...

However it's all a ruse. As loyal as Jean-Pierre seems to be he's actually terrified of Olly and tends to try to appease him constantly solely so he doesn't get turned back to nonexistence.

Jean personally has a distaste for Olly and his fear turns into something more like hatred and resentment. There's a reason why the only portrait we see of Olly drawn by him is blown to smithereens before Mario fixes it with confetti in Overlook Tower...

2. Rubber Bands

Rubber Bands seems to more or less disregard the king once he's off screen. While she is following orders, she could care less about the little pipsqueak as long as she stays the big star! If his rule promises her time in the spotlight who is she to object?

She's insanely prideful and doesn't really seem to fear Olly all too much at least outwardly. There are moments occasionally where her confidence drops but considering the fact she can always fall back on someone else being the weakest (Jean) she reassures herself it's really no problem. What does she have to worry about anyway?

Makes no mention or tribute of the king, never even references him once really. He might look charming but he's really not the charming protagonist type audiences would come to love and adore.

3. Hole Punch

Punch kinda. Disregards Olly even more. Really all he cares about is his music and a place to dance his heart out. His strength seems to honestly perplex the king as well, so it seems like minimal contact is kept between them. A sort of mutual "I'll leave you alone if you do this for me" sentiment between them. Hole Punch doesn't fear Olly in the slightest and might act the most casual around him.

He really doesn't have anything to hide regarding this, even if he doesn't make it to the top of the Legion's strongest, everything about him just seems off from the rest, making him almost an exception to usua behaviors expected from a stationery soldier.

4. Tape

Oddly enough, this tough talking sticky scoundrel is actually one of Olly's most loyal! The dynamic between them is very much that of a classic goon and villain confiding in one another. He calls Olly 'boss' on occasion rather than king but means it with the exact same respect.

Tape doesn't seem to fear Olly much at all, in some occasions openly seeming to have this ideal that the origami king will come to his aid if he needs it. He might have a soft spot for Olly and Olivia granted how (albeit a bit mockingly) he's the only Legion member who extended an offer of mercy to Olivia if she ran back to her brother.

Tape seems to understand Olly better than anyone else in the Legion does. Their closeness is unexpected but fitting in a way. He'd protect the king and even his sister if he ordered it.

5. Scissors

Despite being Olly's lieutenant, Scissors does not hold the young king in any sort of high regard at all. He will present himself honorably and will follow orders, however he has an earth shattering disdain for Olly. Scissors is meant to be the enemy of all paper, origami included. He has a complex of sorts that has driven him to try to become stronger or just as strong as Olly and he only lives because of his rank in the Legion.

Olly is aware of Scissors' hatred and will to overthrow him eventually, but this is remedied by the fact the duelist is unable to get to his level even if he tried. Scissors loathes the fact that a paper being has more power than he does. The king is not meant to be an exception, but he is.

Their allyship is uneasy to say the least. Scissors doesn't hide his disdain in the slightest much to the shock of some of the other members. Being one of the top soldiers in the Legion allows him to be as crass as he wishes to be it seems.

6. Stapler

The king's loyal guard dog. Well, loyal is an overstatement. Stapler follows Olly's whims pretty flawlessly when it comes to combat and binding people into folded soldiers, but outside of that he's a rather inactive, lazy dog. He needs to be bribed with food or play on occasion to be made to do anything.

Stapler will even occasionally playfully mess with the king himself, causing annoyance. He's a sentient thing and likes acting occasionally like a dumb dog that can't speak or understand spoken words. Olly knows already that he can. This still doesn't keep Stapler from messing around.

Once more, him being a high member of the Legion seems to allow him some foolery at Olly's expense.

omg thank you so much!!! Personally i have very specific hcs including all of the Legion that I'd like to be asked about piece by piece but I'll drop some more bits here!

For starters, i have a few aus including them. In one of them, my Legion Recruitment au, they start off in humanoid forms before getting beaten or weakened enough to enter way smaller object forms. Small enough for Mario to kinda carry or have follow him around (kinda like partners, huzzah)

As an overall headcanon, I believe the Legion all kind of have different views on Olly.

As a whole, a majority of them surprisingly don't seem to care all too much about his authority. Everyone follows his orders to protect the streamers because it's what they've been literally made to do, and they're all aware he could turn them back into lifeless objects, but given how in the game they all have their separate way of doing it i think they took a lot of freedoms with that order.

The most loyal members are Tape and Stapler, and even then Stapler is a bit finicky, being a dog that's pretty easily swayed by food or affection.

I'd love to go more into detail over their relationships with Olly.
