idv headcanons (featuring norton + nortnaib) 

im awake and i got a test on thursday. tomorrow i got a 2 hour practice with tutoring in the morning. instead of going to sleep at 12 am, I decided to write some of my norton headcanons with a little bit of nortnaib because i am mentally unwell. (I have a fic abt nortnaib in the works so don't stay in tune for that)

norton subconsciously scratches the burns marks that adorn his arms whenever he's nervous. + whenever he talks to someone he would point it away from them.

I know it isn't canon but i feel like norton would be snarky and mocking to others. would make fun of them a lot. however, he only does this to people he's close with unless its something related to anger.

inferiority and superiority complex. at the same exact time

has a hard time accepting accountably, but once he's alone and away from everyones eyes he would beat himself up about it.

only cares about himself but is quite sensitive to others at the same time.

ignores you if you piss him off.

doesn't typically care about anyone else, BUT if he were to get into an argument with him he would almost always win. somehow knows every piece of dirt about you and uses it against you. keeps grudges.

hates the dark. that's an automatic given.

I think that naib would know how to deal with everything nortons has going on actually. for example, when he gets scared at being in the dark or goes through random meltdowns, I just have a feeling that naib would know exactly what to do. could this be because of his past in the military, seeing men in similar situations? idfk lmfao go ask a theorist.

both of them have loads of scars, but I don't think naib is that insecure about that as much as norton is. he is typically the one to reassure norton that his scars make him who he is.

there's always light in nortons room, and naib makes sure to keep it on for him consistently.

+very random one but they would both curse each other out, sometimes doing it in their native language. norton calling naib a bitch in Spanish and naib clapping back in an instant with Nepali. they don't really understand wtf the other is saying but the anger in their voice is all the same.

It allows for more mobility aids, magic to help in certain areas, but on the flip side it also cause issues, magic strains you and zaps your energy the more you use it, it may help but it also takes from you and it would be so interesting to see that in a story

I hate when people talk about Ashler like it’s inconceivable to ship them.

They’ll be like “Oh, they had so much beef, they’re barely even friends.” Genuinely asking here, have you even read the webtoon if you think that?

Tyler had issues with practically everyone at the beginning, hell, most of the kids didn’t even like each other. Ben, Aiden, Ashlyn, and Logan all thought he was a jerk and he was acting like one because he was trying to protect himself and Taylor and the whole situation was stressful as hell. That’s why his character development is so good. Even Ashlyn remarks that he’s being less of a jerk in one chapter and Taylor says that he's begun to see the others as real friends, maybe even family.

They all eventually became allies and then friends, including Ashlyn and Tyler. Sure, they like to throw some sarcastic remarks at each other but that’s just their sense of humour and part of the appeal of their friendship. Same with Aiden and Tyler, they insult each other all the time but the insults that were originally meant to hurt are now used affectionately.

He gave Ashlyn a nickname guys. He gave a jokey nickname to cheer her up because she felt terrible about the fact that she had to leave him behind while he got terribly hurt, while he died. She literally started crying out of guilt and being overwhelmed by the whole situation. She cares about him and he cares about her and the whole gang cares about each other, which is why there are so many ships in the fandom to begin with.

So stop acting like anyone who ships Ashler is stupid and stop saying ‘they’re like siblings’ on every post about them. We know it’s probably not gonna be canon, hell, Red herself said romance isn’t the focus of the webtoon at all.

I don’t even like shipping in general but the TikTok fandom keeps pissing me off. Stop acting like everyone has to ship the same things as you and stop commenting shit like ‘cute edit but I wish it was Aidlyn’ or ‘They’re just friends, they act like siblings’. Like yeah, they’re not canon but you’d have to be blind if you couldn’t see why some people ship it. Stop shitting on people’s ships and let them have their fun, we all know they’re not canon.

NONE OF THEM ARE.

Anyway, that’s the end of my rant. Sorry, I keep getting Ashler hate every time I search it up on TikTok. It’s so stupid and annoying, let people ship who they want in peace and stop undermining Ashlyn and Tyler's canon friendship and character development to shit on people’s ships. It’s an insult to the characters and your ability to read between the lines.

Can you share some of your favorite bat facts? I wanna add more to my lil arsenal of cool random facts. :]

Of course! Apologies for the late response, I saw this at like 1am four days ago, forgot everything I knew about bats, and then fell asleep and only remembered I even got this ask today. Anyways! Some bat facts :)

Common Vampire bats are some of my absolute favourites, mostly because of their ability to run on the ground! They can gallop with their forelimbs and take off from the ground by leaping into the air and catapulting themselves with their wings, which is speculated to be how Pterodactyls took off as well! Most bats cannot take off from the ground, and must be elevated to take flight, so this is pretty cool. Makes sense too, since they mostly feed from the ankles of large mammals and so need ground maneuverability!

Here's a video of a vamp taking off, and here's a video of one walking around! I think their skittery movements and lil' faces are just the CUTEST, but I know I'm probably in the minority there. Also there's a large dish of blood in the second video, so fair warning there!

All three true Vampire bats have evolved special grooves in their mouths in order to act as a gutter of sorts to funnel the blood into their mouths, but the exact arrangement differs between them. The Hairy-Legged Vampire bat has a groove along the roof of the mouth, whereas the White-Winged and Common Vampire bats have lingual grooves under the tounge! Speaking of White-Winged Vampire bats, they're the only bats in the world with 22 teeth, for some reason (likely no reason since the molars are vestigial), AND they have scent glands in their mouths that might be used to deter predators. Pretty cool stuff!

Finally, all three species of true Vampire Bats are cute as hell. Look at these lil' guys!!
