the sandhill cranes are back! I got to see some mating displays, which apparently involve tossing things in the air and hopping around (｡>ヮ< )

#my photography!#bird photography #birding #birds #sandhill crane #I went at sunset instead of dawn for the first time (with my camera) and it was so great #the light wasn't great for my old camera but all the people cleared out and it was so serene #and the frogs! gosh after the sun went down they immediately got louder #and their ribbiting echoed off the water and it was wonderful all around me #and when the sun was setting all the swallows got one last meal in #and once it was too dark for me to see for the most part I saw the bats ( ♡∇♡ )#I could hear them sort of fluttering around me #and I could hear geese flying around even though I couldn't see them #it was amazing I'm excited to go again

feeling real proud of my plant room after joining a teams meeting from home this morning to (successfully) impress my coworkers, so:

#note: i did not buy any of the fancy verigated plants - my partner was gifted a cutting at the start of vivid #and we’ve been propagating them since then #it was specifically because we were in a tight spot financially and we were going to sell the plants but……… we love them lol #my current favorite is the polka dot plant and the little fig that i grew from the midsection of an old leggy thing i cut back this summer #i kept it out of curiousitu and when i saw the little nubs of green growth i got so excited <3 #i love being an adult sometimes.. i love having plants i’ve kept for years and years and years and seeing how big they get…#this room saves me in the winter… most of these live outside all summer so every year i drag them in and reorganize #personal #my plants

Well they caught him. If he wasn't the exact kind of person tumblr loves, the conspiracy theories about this being a random person being framed would have continued to spread. But he's an attractive 26 year old white man who was caught carrying a manifesto about corporate America and has an internet history that matches up with tumblr's general politics. So everyone is going to get excited about how he's a martyr and go back to acknowledging reality in that there isn't a conspiracy to frame the wrong guy.

The discussions over whether or not this man should be lionized as a hero are honestly not as relevant as the comfort with which people are going to drop the conspiracy theory they would have been fully committed to if this man's politics turned out to be nuts. The ease with which the userbase of this website switches between realities based on whether or not they confirm their biases is really alarming. I just hope people understand how weird it is to claim a random person is 100% going to be framed by the FBI on one day, and then drop that by the next day when it becomes clear that the person being "framed" is the exact kind of communist you had hoped.

can’t think of anything to say other than it was everything I could have ever expected and wanted and hoped for. seeing them perform truly is an electric experience and I am so, so grateful I got to be there. I’ve never felt such overflowing joy and love in one room before and that truly is down to what a one-of-a-kind group Starkid is. I’m so happy and a little emotional that it’s over but like it’s sung in days of summer, “don’t wanna see you go but it’s not forever, not forever” ⭐️💜

Thinking about how in the midst of the hostility currently directed at Amethio in-universe, Friede still remains the only one so far who expressed joy at his presence..

#that's his rival!!#i wonder if amethio notices the hostility or even cares about it #i guess he doesn't because he is just focused on trying to do what he can for gibeon #still it's a bit sad :/#being considered as getting in the way or a nuisance etc.#he has subordinates but it's still more of a professional relationship #a sense of distance there...#zir and conia are always glad he is safe of course but the hierarchical nature of that dynamics still stands in the way etc #that's why it stands out to me that friede got to express open joy and excitement at a few different points #about amethio being there at all (like in ep 45)#and being the only one so far too #(liko is still wary of him for good reason)#friede was so happy he found a rival on his level :(#it's cute when he gets to show these sides of his character...#i wonder if amethio saw a bit of spinel in friede in the first chapter?#we know spinel taunts amethio when he gets an opportunity to do so #and friede had this slightly teasing side too (but no ill will)#since i got the impression that amethio was projecting a lot of things onto friede at the beginning #(which was funny)#(the way he took things in the worst possible way etc)#anyway!#i really like their rivalry tbh #it's genuinely so compelling #for what it brings them both as characters #and how it relates to wider themes etc #character notes #episode notes #hz064
