I've got a few!! In no particular order:

Leon...

- Leon doesn't use a whooole lot of different products for his hair, but he stays loyal to one very specific brand and it's kind of expensive

- Also think he was a 2-in-1 shampoo kind of boy until he started working at the white house 😞 his hair is just nice like that tho. Thick and shiny

- Bite mark scar on his forearm from trying to push away a BOW who decided it looked more like a snack than defense

- Moles all over his body... and I mean everywhere.

- Suffers from a three-hit K.O. of sleep deprivation from working ridiculous hours (some self-imposed), insomnia, and a natural tendency to be a night owl. He's always tired, and if he feels safe somewhere he's constantly taking naps

- He's always thinking about something and has a tendency to get lost in his memories. I like to think he drinks just to stop thinking in endless loops of guilt and regret for a while :(

- Touchstarved as HELL. was joking the other day that he's the 'even held hostage it's nice to be held' meme lmaoo. Give him a hug, somebody??

- Listens to the most dad-rock-light-emo-90s-early-00s-linkin park-nirvana-alanis-morissette-foo-fighters-evanescence-nickelback music possible. Also Chevelle and The Police because I say so

- Tendency to be late to things on purpose, especially with the government

- Lingering nerve pain for a long time after Spain, and though it's mostly subsided after so many years it still flares up if he's pushing himself too hard

- Achy. So achy.

- Incredibly self-sacrificing. He would die to protect almost anyone and he cares very deeply about people even though he puts up a tough front :') not so much a headcanon as true, but it's important

- I feel like sometimes people can't tell if he's joking or not? Obviously he's got his silly one-liners and sarcasm, but I feel like he also likes deadpan humour and it throws off people who don't know him, maybe intentionally if he doesn't really trust them.

As for Krauser...

- He's such an asshole. Never knows when to shut the hell up and stop making sarcastic, biting little comments. I think he's just in love with the sound of his own voice at this point

- Strikes me as a middle child 🤔 maybe grew up with an older brother and a younger sister? Kind of a jock in high school, but also always a little bit antisocial

- Stubborn.

- Very practical. I don't think he really has much use for abstract or hypothetical discussion, he's a man of action. I think he enjoys following orders and being part of a scheme, too, helping to be part of a well-oiled machine

- Relentless drill sergeant, and again, a dickhead, but he really does care about his men

- He has this... assumption that everyone else is just as insane as he is, and doesn't see why people get caught up on small things. If there's something he wants to do, he's going to do it. He knows his strength and always has this intense desire to make himself better and better by constantly tackling challenges.

- He doesn't fail... until he does, and everything falls apart. His panic in Darkside Chronicles after he gets injured screams insecurity to me. The second his strength isn't enough, he feels weak and powerless and incredibly let down by his own inability to push through

- Arm injury in Operation Javier was super debilitating, maybe even to the point where he was advised to amputate it. Again, though, he's a stubborn SOB

- Very touchy. The kind of guy to always pat your shoulder or your back or knee. Just casually moves people out of the way, or readjusts their fighting stance while training without hesitation. If you're cuddling with him it's impossible to get away from his big heavy arms.

Also, to add to my previous ask. What If socially anxious darling was wearing headphones and ear plugs to block out noise bc she's hypersensitive to noise. And then when she tells baji that she dislikes noise, watch him literally shoo the crowd away [as in giving LITERAL DEATH GLARES that promise you the ruin of everyone you love if you don't FUCK OFF] bc he doesn't want to growl and potentially trigger darling. It works like a charm bc people [bar chifuyu and kazutora if they're with him] get to stepping like mad.

Also, when she tells him that she dislikes getting her ears cleaned bc of the noises, then I feel like he'll do his best to eliminate it so she doesn't have to worry. And then when he finds out that her family/brother has been intentionally triggering her late at night, and that's why she sometimes comes to school tired. Watch her brother be put on the news, and baji basically adopts [read:kidnapping] his darling onsight.

She won't have to deal with that shit again if he has anything to say about it. [It got a little bit specific there bc I've been through the last scenario, and I just wanted baji to comfort me and act like my knight in shining armor.]

in regards to this ask.

i say this a lot but baji is incredibly conscious of his darling. he thinks of the smallest things to accommodate your needs and comfort, even if it means he has to control himself to do it. not growling to keep darling content is literally the perfect example of this. also not starting fights with dumbasses that mess with you to not draw attention is another example. and it’s not difficult for him to do either. baji will naturally fall into the nurturing attentive roll just for his darling. only for his darling. if it were anyone else then baji probably really wouldn’t give a shit to not cause scenes or be quiet.

as for if your family is intentionally doing stuff to trigger your sensory sensitivity, then baji would be pissed, but we knew that already, didn’t we. he knows how upsetting it can be for you because he’s seen first hand how worked up and freaked out you get at school, especially assembly’s. he hates seeing you like that, hates knowing that you get like that just as much. baji would threaten your family, break your brothers bones maybe and ruin something of your parents, a project or something expensive. and then baji will start letting you come home with him during lunch and after school to take naps so you can get the proper rest your family deprives you of.

bajis mama is genuinely shocked for once about something he does when he brings you over. the fighting, the yelling, the getting into trouble she expects of him, but to bring someone over and be quiet for them, be the proper house guest he’s never been before by getting you food and drinks and taking care of anything you may need. she expected him to get antsy and start acting out, but no. no matter how long you stay, baji will remain quiet, and he’ll even let you lay in his lap and he’ll gently run his fingers through your hair and on your back. ryoko never expected anything like that from her son, it was a miracle.

He carved name on his arm in the fight with Death 13 so I think he doesn't mind carving his name on darling. He enjoy seeing you squirm because of the pain, licking your blood and tear (he is a sadistic yandere after all).

I wonder how Dio punish his darling when they misbehaving or he just hurt them because of love. Will he drink their blood or just break some of their bones?

He can’t deny how lovely you’d look with ‘Noriaki Kakyoin’ written on you- by means of a blade, of course. Why waste ink when you can have it on you permanently? Oh, a tattoo would be acceptable too, but not everyone can get a tattoo, can they? Noriaki respects your decision- whether it be by religious reason, or a lie to get out of dealing with the needle. He’ll pretend you really mean it as long as you keep playing along, and observe the respective holidays for whichever religion you cling to for salvation from his terrible, terrible designs. Don’t forget, or he’ll really punish you. Lying is wrong. 

DIO is not the nicest man. He may love you, but he’s Machiavellian, through and through. All that matters is the end result, and you know what? You’ve soured his mood. He doesn’t want any sweet nothings, or that attention he’s been demanding from you, he’s fed up! You’ve tried his patience, which he has a lot of in this stage of his life, so you must’ve done something bad. DIO isn’t one to make a big show out of it, do you think he’ll hurt you? He takes away the one thing that should matter the most to you: him. (He’s similar to Giorno in that aspect. Notably, none of his other sons are like that.) He deprives you of your basic needs. If you really want water, you can get it from the sink, or the bathtub he’s allowed you to have. A meal? Sure, you can have a meal (that doesn’t meet any of your dietary restrictions, or your likes/dislikes.), you can even have a drink. (It’s just blood, marked as wine.) Vanilla glares at you as he pours it, and won’t leave until you’ve finished. Don’t be a waste of resources, you stress out his master enough. 

I think most romantic types would force themselves on their darling- not intentionally. They’re just delusional enough to think that you want them. Jean-Pierre, Jotaro, Shinobu, Mountain Tim, Jolyne, F.F., people who want to have sex with their darling out of love rather than lust. The worst part of it is the fact that there’s genuinely no malice behind it- most of them are doing it for your pleasure.

Some, though, are not! Some yanderes force themselves on their darling because they just can't stop themself. It's an urge! An urge you'll have to deal with until they give out- no worries if you can't last as long as they can, they'll hold you where you need to be. Certain stands such as Jolyne's, Noriaki's, and Joseph's have no issue binding you so their user can have their way, but others don't need to rely on a stand, and can force you with their own hands. Hotpants, although I think she'd avoid sex with her darling until she deems it to be time, is notably the type to restrain her darling just by herself- it feels good that way. Please stop squirming, you're ruining it for her.

{{ OK SO FIRST This is probably the best look at the unique culture of the kingdom's architecture in the entire movie besides some neat interior shots, but exterior wise? This courtyard with like a reflection pool in the center designed to specifically reflect Magnifico only ( more clever mirror imagery~ ) is sincerely really interesting a design choice! The arches and even the floor pattern are definitely.......... vaguely Moroccan, as they claim was their inspiration for some things, but just a bit dull and pale for their style, but the thing is Spain also has arabic-ish courtyards with these exact kinds of arches..... it's a long story why lol. Sometimes I think maybe Magnifico is European Spaniard, and he named the Kingdom, but it's Amaya that is Moroccan, since he met her on his travels? And so that's why their building style is this mix of both of their history maybe. But historically, these two styles do mix often. This place would have an extremely mixed culture regardless, just because it's 100% immigrants.

But yeah, overall I would describe Rosas as a deeply pale city that is unusually subtle in its ornamentation, which... I think the artists definitely did this intentionally to convey a since of lifelessness about the place? It's not obvious to a viewer that was their intent though. I would have really loved if they leaned into that-- make it unsettlingly pale and sterile, like a creepy medieval heaven. I like to think it has that sort of vibe to people visiting. Beautiful and clean and grandiose and yet... missing life. Artistically restrained. I mean-- imagine a city that somehow successfully made everything white, blue and gold. No variation, no outliers. It looks curated. Charming in animation maybe but that would immediately feel weird to see in real life right? Which fits the lack of dreamers and artists in this wishless kingdom.

And another thing you'll notice, though I don't really have a great shot of it to show, is that buildings, especially in the main town area, have a sort of...... grown out of the ground look about them? I am not accusing them of using ai art to generate it istg-- but to use that as an example, it does have this surreal sort of look like it's being stacked up and up and up almost randomly to all the buildings. There's many structures where there's a giant arch of stone, like the very street has cut off to become a balcony, and then a building and then on that building is this strange attached structure with pillars and an arch and then on that is a dome and then beside that is a hallway-- you can kinda see it even in the mural's painting on the side. This really tall structure that just looks like an amalgamate of many structures built around each other. Its not on a mountain, this island does not have spikes of land that jut straight up like that, that's the building's structure itself. To me that implies Magnifico is often building his kingdom upwards, due to finite land on this island, likely literally just magically additioning and additioning and additioning as more people arrive. And you can even kind of see that happening in the opening showing Rosas being built. And that is also a potentially cool idea. Because it gives the vibe like Rosas has exactly one(1) architect, and it's the king himself. I'm kinda picturing his building expansion magic looking a lot like when Howl adds the additional rooms in Howl's Moving Castle.

Also, can we talk about the mural?

It’s not common (like at all) that you two have argument. He hated raising his voice at you but you insisted in having this conversation that now became an argument. You kept telling him that maybe his father was willing to change, maybe it’s better to forget the past- and that’s when he snap. Vivid memories of his abuse clouded his judgement when he yelled at you, telling you about his abuse. Yelling at you about how you know nothing about the number one pro hero. But when he realized it, he backed you onto your desk as you knuckles grew while from how tight you’ve been holding the desk, with a slight tinge of fear in your eyes. When he went up to reach for your, he noticed the sudden flinch. Todoroki begins to back up, realizing what he had just done. “I... I’m sorry...” His voice is back to its quiet nature. His hands are lightly shaking as he looks at the floor. You can tell he regrets raising his voice. “Sho... Hey- Look at me?” Your now standing in front of him, with your fingertips under his chin. “I know what your thinking... You’re not becoming your father, Sho.” He shakes his head, “I scared you...” He muttered, “I saw it, in your eyes. You where scared.” You sigh and take his hands in yours, hesitating before speaking. “I- I want you to tell me what happened, I want to be there for you... I know you would never hurt me.” A soft smile crept on Todorokis lips when you tucked a strand of his white hair behind his ear. “Can we lay down please.” You nodded and let him lay on the bed, opening his arms to pull you in tight.

He never noticed it until now, but whenever you’re around him you have the tendency to flinch. It was a normal day at school, when he saw you where the first person at their table and he decides to walk up to you. Reaching to pet your head, is when you flinched, and he hesitated to lay his hand on you. You opened up an eye to see why the impact hadn’t come yet, but his hand just drops to his side and he sits by you, not saying a word. You don’t really question it but it worries you just a little. So when it comes to having alone time he’s on the opposite side of the room doing his work and you’re getting lonely. He hand held your hand or touched you ever since lunch and you’re becoming bakugo deprived. You pull his chair backwards and he looks at you a little surprise when you begin to crawl into his lap, your chest facing his. “Hold me...” You whimper to him while wrapping your arms behind his neck. “I never want you to do that again... I missed you.” Bakugo wrapped his arms around you and began to caress your back, “I’m right here, we’ve been together all day.” He tells you in a roll of the eyes tone. “No- I mean... you didn’t even hold my hand today... or give me a head pat... Are you going to break up with me?” A small sniffle interrupts you mid sentence and Bakugo took noticed, he pulled you away to see you water filled eyes and his heart broke. He didn’t touch you today because he thought he would hurt you, but it seems like he ended up doing that anyways. “No! N-no you idiot.... I just-” He pulled you back into his arms, “I don’t want you to think that i’d ever hurt you intentionally... I’m- sorry i’m rough around the edges.” He hold you in his arms for a long time before he even dares to let go.

Midoriya, oh boy... He would think himself unworthy of you.

Considerably, you never had an argument with Izuku. Never. But today, now as Third years, you found yourself ignoring your boyfriend. It made the whole classroom tense up and Aizawa had enough of it. “You two-” He pointed at Izuku and then you, “Out of my classroom and resolve your problems.” The two of you hesitated before getting up, “Now!” The teacher yelled, before the two of you went walking out of the classroom. While the two of you stood in the empty hallway, Izuku decided to speak up first. “You’re going to get yourself killed.” He said, making you roll your eyes. “Look who’s talking...” You mutter. “What you did on that mission was reckless!” You scoffed. “Me? Being reckless? I saved your life!” Your voice began to echo through the hall as your index finger poked at his chest. “Save my life? All you did was get in the way!” It shocked you to hear him say that. “If it weren’t for me, you’d be in the fucking hospital! Don’t you understand that i’m trying to fucking help here?! You can’t do everything alone Izuku!” He took a step forward, “Then maybe I should!” Goosebumps ran down your spine, was this really how it was going to end. “Oh yeah? And then what? Run to Toshinoris grave and ask his for advi-” He didn’t let you finish your sentice when he grabes your arms and pushed you against the wall, causing you to whimper in pain. It wasn’t unusual that Izuku forgot how strong he really was. “Don’t...” He muttered, squeezing you arms thighter “ ‘Zuku you’re-” He cut you off “Why would you say that, you know he’s been there for me more than anyone has and-” “MIDORIYA YOU’RE HURTING ME!” Izuku immediately let go, it’s been two years since you’ve used his formal name. He watched as you winced at the feeling of moving your arm, “I’m sorry-” He reached for your arm and you flinched back against the wall slapping his hand away, “I- um.. I’m fine, just.... I’m going to the nurses...” You walked ahead of him quickly and stuffed in a cry into the palm of your hand. Izuku just stood back and watched as you walked away. Maybe this time he shouldn’t reach out for you, maybe this way you won’t get hurt.

After he’s had a hard day, the last thing he expects when he comes back from the dorm is you messing around with Sero. Not like cheating but, playing around in the kitchen since both of you had kitchen duty. He saw the way both of you got along so when and you didn’t even notice him when he came in. He’s just standing mid hallway and Sero notices him first. “Oh, hey man! How was training?” You turn around and give him a bright smile, you don’t say anything but run up to him and hug him but he doesn’t hug back, he’s stiff and gives you a sad smile, muttering that he’s tired and that he’ll just leave you two alone. It’s a little confusing at first when he isn’t his smiley self but you shrug is off, everyone has their bad days- even Kirishima. You look at Sero and he mouths something but you shrug at him and continue to do the cooking. A few second later, it begins to pick at you- luckily Bakugo passed by and you pulled at his wrist. “Finish this up for me yeah, Kirishima’s acting weird and I wanna check up on him.” Bakugo begins to for a sentence and you point the knife at him from afar and smile sweetly. “I’m not asking, now take the knife.” You turns the knife on it’s handle and put it in his hands before you walk away. When you reach his door, you knock but there is no response. “Kiri... can I come in?” You hear a faint sure and you walk in. The second you walk in and close the door, he sit up on his bed and buries his head in his hands. “I think we should break up...” He says, when you take a few steps closer to him. You freeze, “W-what? Why would you say that?” He doesn’t answer and you take a few steps closer to reach out for his shoulder but he just ends up slapping it away, “You heard me, y/n... Just get out.” 

“Kiri- come on let’s just talk about it-”

“Just get out!” He notices the way you flinch at his voice. “Hey, can we talk about this please, I- I don’t understand... Everything is going great, right? Why do you wanna break up?” Kirishima shook his head and sighed. “I’m not good enough for you Y/n... I’m never going to manly enough for you, I just need time to become enough for you.” Your breath got caught in your throat, and ran to tackle him onto his bed. “YOU’RE ENOUGH! OF COURSE YOUR ENOUGH! Don’t be dumb baby... Why would you ever think that?” Kirishima wrapped his arms around your waist, “You just looked so happy with Sero... I though it would be better this way.” You bonked Kirishima’s spiky hair and he giggled into you r neck. “I promise I’ll try to be better...”

Edit: I started writing this like ages ago but I don't see my own point with this writting and I'm editing it after reading @nini14 's Ackerman breaking the cycle analysis and I feel like both of these go hand in hand. So without further ado:

Triangles

Let's see as we all are made aware that aot significantly revolves around trios of friends such as the following :

Although these are the main trios that is noticeable, other trios can be made out by taking some characters from their original trios to make trios based on looks / character and dynamics. And this is where my argument comes in with this trio:

Their dynamic has always been mother father and son. Now let me explain, idk if anyone has heard about the drama triangle but here

These terms can be applied to MLE trio, Levi being the persecutor, Mikasa is the rescuer and the victim being Eren. In the first 3 seasons at least, Eren was being taken away and his decisions constently put him in danger, Levi being the persecutor who always gives Eren what he deserves for being a pain the ass and Mikasa being the rescuer always siding with Eren and protecting him no matter what. Do you see it?

This is Mikasa to a T.

The following is an example of the dad being the rescuer and the son "junior" being a victim, and much like Eren, could possibly refuse the hand that is helping him.

So that being said now that we have an understanding of their dynamics in the relationship, let's get back to understanding a triangle. Did you know triangles are one of the strongest shape because it has three sides that rely on each other hence shifting their energies on to each side and it makes the perfect shape for a bridge, architectures favourite. Why am I tell you this?

Because these dynamics that every trio is made up of in aot is because they have strong relationships.

Someone mentioned isayama loves putting move triangles and I couldn't help but agree, look at how many times he has placed Eren historia and an angry Mikasa? And subtly he has always ( to me at least) hinted the love triangle between Levi Mikasa and Eren, outside of their father-mother-son dynamic. Personally this makes sense to me the most, fueled by mikasa's dream. A choice was there to make and she unknowingly chose Levi.

Now this brings me to the death of all the trios Levi has been part of, from Isabel & Farlan to hanjo & Erwin to where we are now. Our situation before S4 was EMA+Levi = 4 people but we all know that a square isn't as strong as a triangle so something shifted. Eren, even with him in it Armin and him were more connected as for Levi and Mikasa as a pair it was more obvious. Especially in the conversation EMA had in that stare place as depicted on @gilly-bj 's analysis on similarities between rivamika and Mika's parents. Not only was Mikasa placed directly next to Levi although being feets apart in reality but her lines "another conversation only you two understand" it. Visually and verbally divided Mikasa from Eren and Armin and connected her to Levi. Both alone.

Yet another triangle placed by isayama intentionally or not is Armin Mikasa and Levi.

Because a triangle represents the process of recycle and reuse it also represent the cycle of life, an on going thing that doesn't stop, a history that repeats itself. And going back to Ackerman finally breaking this cycle of tragic fate, will they?

The fact that the whole manga series start at chapter 0 is very suspicious in it self. Why does it isyamaa? A 0, a circle that comes back around? A 0 which represents both the ending and the beginning? Why is the 1st chapter called "to you, 2000 years from now"? ( That's such a fucking impactful chapter name gives me chills )

Before my theory start I just wanna add that the story started from a narrative perspective makes me wanna believe in rivamika even more. Did eldians share the same fate in 2000 years? Who knows, but I know for sure Erens and mikasa's dynamic as the impulsive hotheaded doer and their protective calm but strong friend thinker will continue forever just like the never ending triangles.

I forgot all these ppls names on chaoter 0 so PLS bare with me.

The main dude who heavily resembles Mikasa even tho he is a man, has a incredible power just like the Ackerman's as a human AND he can shift into a titan???? Last time I checked weren't Ackerman's the bio product of titans? Remember is science is on a ongoing journey and forever progressing towards the impossible ;)

The little girl who resembles Gabi, who has the same dynamic as Eren, the girl also looks up to his inhumanly powers, a little too much alike Eren's idolisation of Levi ( and looking up to Mikasa's strength I think )?

Lastly, chapter 0 makes me believe it was set in the future. Look at the buildings, 2 story buildings I don't remember seeing buildings like this in the pre time skip era have you? I could be wrong tho.

If Isayama is as smart as we think he is then he might have related this chapter to the whole plot of aot. 🤷 Or it could mean something. And here's where my theory comes in and it may not be the most favourable for eldians. Let me start with the good part tho, the guy who looked like Mikasa is could be a descendant from the Ackerman clan, but he isn't half and half like Mikasa and Levi, he's full blooded. Which might be why he has the power to shift ( idk this kinda don't make sense since Mikasa and Levi can't buy hush )

So let's say rivamika got married had a family they always wanted and had the peaceful life and 2000 years from then this guy^ existed. Oddly familiar to great great great grammakasa 💀💀.

The cycle never ended for eldians, the whole world could still be mad at them for Erens action and has the prejudice against them for a long time. And the fact that they can shift is never going to change even 2000 years in the future. And the guy ( omg I keep calling him the guy cause I literally can not be bothered figuring out his name ) who lives in a far more developed society with richer civilization within the wall. It could be possible that Ymir or someone erased the eldians memories ONCE AGAIN after the rumbling ended. Because Mikasa levi weren't effected they probably were excused and got to live as they pleased. This dude is also the reason why I believe isayama does not consider the Ackerman's as side characters at all. In the end the story might have actually started with them, alluding to "the ending is just the beginning" as said by kingsama himself. ( Wtf am I saying lol )

So yeah in conclusion as I said yes story is weirdly really influenced by a large amount of triangles and loops. And yes ackerman probably would break the cycle of death after all living through hell fighting hell all for what? If not recreating into a heaven, giving it new life. I do believe in rivamika living the life they are destined for with each other but eldians fate might just be too tragic for me to see them as truly free people who gets to roam around outside the walls as they please.

I guess my point is that everything that goes around will come around, that will bring good karma for the Ackerman's and maybe a repeation of the past for the rest of the world. 😩😩 I think I fully somehow believe Eren is gone for good. Unless isayama draws him waking up from a long dream on his bed then 💀👀👀 I will throw myself away.

CHAPTER SIX

Steve left a trail of cool breeze from the outside which sent shivers on the surface of your skin. You immediately closed the door, slightly annoyed at the cold air New York had to offer.

"He seems nice." Bucky commented as soon as you got back inside. The jukebox had stopped playing. It probably already used up Bucky's money. "Looked like he couldn't hurt a fly." He added.

You agreed with Bucky as you sat back down on the high stool. He managed to bring out the drink you guys hid from Steve and placed it in front of you. A big smile spread across his face, still urging you to drink what he made just a few minutes ago. He kept convincing you that the "y/n" drink was a good and mean drink, perhaps "the best drink you'll ever have, I swear!" (even though he hadn't tried it himself). He spoke like a true businessman trying to sell his product. He never broke eye contact and kept his voice firm and strong.

"This is the first and last time I'm taking a drink from a stranger." You mumbled, picking up the drink. It was cold like the air outside.

"Hey, I'm no stranger!"

Before the drink could even reach your lips, you caught a whiff of its smell. It was kind of fruity yet minty at the same time but the scent of vodka still lingered on top of the drink. Bucky added a little umbrella, perhaps finding it in one of the cabinets while you were walking Steve towards the front door.

The first sip tasted like New York's wintery air that soon left. It was replaced by the taste of both spring and summer, basked in a state of glorious heat. "Bucky..." You gulped until there was no more left on the glass. "This is -- "

"The best drink you ever had?" His nose scrunched up.

You didn't want to feed him a big ego but even you couldn't deny that yes, it was the best drink you ever had in your life. There was something weirdly familiar in it; the same feeling that you felt as you stared at Bucky's sleeping face.

"Indeed it is." You sent him a smile. "Something familiar in all of it. For some unknown reason, I can't explain it."

"Because the drink is you." He replied, taking the glass from your hand and placing it on the dishwasher beside him. "Or what I thought about you the first time I saw you."

"The first time you saw me, you were butt naked and I had a bit of a concussion. You got fruity and minty from that?"

He smirked while opening the faucet. "Fruity and minty, huh?"

"Yeah," you replied, leaning back on the stool as you crossed your arms across your chest, "that's what it tasted like."

"Interesting." He hummed.

"Wasn't that what you wanted me to taste?"

"You tell me."

"You're confusing me, Bucky." You groaned. "Man, you didn't even get a taste of it. Not one single sip and you already assumed that the drink would 'fit' my personality."

"Fruity and minty." Bucky started to clean up the glass, then the rest of the counter. You stared at him, waiting for an explanation to what he just said. He looked like something out of Vogue magazine while cleaning the counter. You, on the other hand, must've looked like hell. "I'm like a magician when it comes to drinks, y'know -- "

"If you are," you interrupted, "you could've just made your one night stand disappear. But you're not, so you, Bucky Barnes, suck."

"No," he sighed defeated, "I'm like a magician 'cause a magician never reveals his tricks. And by the way, full name is James Buchanan Barnes."

"James is a lot easier to say than Bucky. It's one syllable against two." You frowned. "You know that, right?"

"What can I say, y/n?" He leaned against one of the cabinets with a smug look on his face. "I've been Bucky my whole life."

"You've also been James your whole life. Where did you even get the name Bucky?"

"Buchanan." He shrugged.

"You got Bucky from Buchanan?"

"As a matter of fact, yes. Plus, if I really were magician, Bucky Barnes had a nice ring on it. Don't you think so?"

"Whatever you say, big guy. Now pay up." You rolled my eyes. "And Bucky Barnes sounds like a villain's name. Just sayin'." This earned you a couple chuckles from Bucky.

The wiping cloth slid easily on the smooth surface of the newly-washed glass. Once he was done, he placed it back to where he got it. Bucky moved swiftly as if he knew his way in the bar. He playfully rolled his eyes at you before giving you a hundred dollar bill. "You should be the one paying me, y'know. I made a drink and helped you with a shit ton of boxes."

"James," you chuckled slowly, "between the two of us, you're clearly the rich one. Not richer. Rich. I don't even have a hundred dollars in my pockets right now, except," you grabbed the bill in his hand, "now." You placed it inside your pockets but of course, that would go to the cash register in a bit. "And you did use up some of our liquor. Even those damn new ones."

"Fair enough, then." He smiled. "Now, let's see those photos of yours."

Right. The photos that hang lonely on these chipped vintage walls, sadly deprived of human touch and sight. Before leading Bucky to one of the walls where your printed photos were, he grabbed his polo shirt (more like Peter's) and wrapped it around his body once more.

Your photos were all scattered on the walls, like nesting birds chirping in their homes; except no one would dare to look at them.

The bar was now enveloped in silence with the jukebox not playing. The only thing you could hear was the constant ticking of the wall clock that hung in between two of your photos which Steve framed after buying them from one of your failed photo exhibits. The walk towards the wall seemed much longer than it should. There was a warm feeling lingering on your stomach, the drink from earlier. You just now realized that you haven't had any solid food. Right now, there was a protein shake and liquor swarming inside your stomach like a bunch of bees. Then, a small churn came out. The instinct to hold your belly kicked in, hoping that Bucky didn't get to hear that.

He didn't say anything as he sat down on one of the booths, his gaze fixated on your photos on the walls as if studying every subject, light, and color captured by your lenses. He looked like he was inside the Met, moving from time to time to admire each photo.

"Y/n," he whispered, "these are gorgeous." Then, he turned around, sliding out of the booth to see some more. You didn't say anything. Just a small smile was enough. You were never one to take compliments anyway. "These photos should be out there, y'know, not inside the confinements of a vintage bar."

"The reason why they're here is because people from outside didn't seem to like them." You replied, trailing behind Bucky. "But that doesn't matter anyway.

He turned around with a frown etched on his face. "What do you mean?"

You pursed your lips, avoiding his gaze. "I mean it's not like people like them here. But that's okay, I guess. I mean, I'm doing product photos for small businesses. That's something."

"They're both different, right? Those photos you take in your small studio and these ones." The photos on the wall stole his attention once more. "You have the freedom to take whatever you want."

You stood there, picking at the blunt edges of the booth table, avoiding any eye contact you may have with Bucky. Suddenly, a roll of images from an early memory came to mind: Bucky's school-of paintings, tiny sculptures and the White Wolf headstone. "You seem like you're really into art."

"In whatever medium they're made, yes." He replied. "Film, painting, photography, writing -- everything!"

As far as you remembered, the only things Peter told you about Bucky were his wild adventures during his youth, and how Bucky could "run a hotel even with his eyes closed!" Peter didn't dive into the deep stuff about his stepbrother's life. It was always about girls, party, money, and booze. Perhaps Bucky's stories were only as good as stories you tell when you just want to have a good laugh while drinking. The sentimental stuff, you knew, were reserved for solemn dinner nights or even days like this inside a bar.

"Why run a hotel, then?" You genuinely asked, looking at the back of his head.

"It's the only thing I know." Bucky snickered, slowly turning around. "Besides making a mean drink, of course."

"You're never gonna let that slide, are you?"

"Never. I mean, c'mon. You've tasted my drink. You can attest to it."

You hummed, raising both of your hands up in the air. "Testify."

He grinned in response and put his hands inside the pockets of his jeans. As you looked at him studying each photo you took, you could tell he didn't want to comment anything on his career path. Peter did say Tony Stark, his adoptive father and Peter's stepfather, just gave Bucky a share of his hotel until Bucky started running it on his own. You assumed Bucky just took it out of the goodness of this Tony Stark, for adopting him and caring for him. But the real reason for why Bucky took the chance, you may never know. Even though he was an open book, there were a few chapters in him that seemed intentionally hazy, as if he didn't want other people to read them. If Peter had anything to know about these "hidden chapters" in his life, you didn't know. It looked like Bucky would just tell Peter all his wild stories but not the stories about serious matters in his life. But of course, you were just getting this observation out of the back of his head and some of his body language.

"Peter looks so happy here." Bucky commented, breaking the uncomfortable silence. "These his colleagues?"

"That was the first time he went out with his colleagues." You replied while approaching him. You stood beside him and looked at the photo. It truly felt like you and Bucky were standing in a deserted museum. "They had a pretty good time but not me. They made such a mess that night. It brought me back to when Peter would go home drunk back in college."

"Peter? Drunk in college?"

"Dead drunk. Apparently, he learned that from you." The moment these words slipped out of your mouth, a wave of panic washed over your body as the expressions on Bucky's face changed. A frown started to form. His jaw immediately clenched. His breathing became heavier each second. The uncomfortable silence deafened. "Oh god, Bucky, I'm sorry. Learned wasn't the right word. What I meant to say was -- "

"I'm hungry."

His short reply sent me into a whirl of confusion. "I'm sorry?"

"Are you hungry?"

"I -- "

"'Cause I'm hungry. Come, let's go get something to eat."

"Bucky, listen to me."

"I did." His voice faltered. "I heard you."

"But that wasn't what I exactly meant, y'know. I mean, come on, everyone experiments in college. Partying, getting drunk, all that kind of crap -- it's all normal!"

"That's not exactly how you put it earlier." He replied, suddenly facing you. His body towered over yours. "I believe what you said was he learned it from me?"

"I didn't mean that you taught him, it's just... Come on, Bucky, with all those wild stories of you -- "

"What are you trying to say, y/n?"

"Peter has a very curious mind, especially back in college. He jumped on every opportunity he had once he's offered a new thing or a new experience. Your wild stories would always pop out every time he's drunk or just some random nights really." you released an exasperated sigh. "Look, Bucky, the point is, he was just curious. He wanted to know what and how you felt during those wild times. It's not your fault. If anything, it's his. Peter may be smart but he's a much bigger dumbass. Even you should know that. You've lived with him since he was, what, in high school?"

Bucky raised his eyebrows, a grin slowly forming on his lips. "You know, I'm starting to think you're not his best friend. Talking behind his back."

"I say much harsher things to him to his face, don't worry." You smiled. "But I do love Peter even though he's a pain in the ass. We've been through many ups and downs, him and I. It's kind of what binds us together. And hey, him constantly drinking is none of your fault, alright? It's his." You assured Bucky once more. "He can really be a big dumbass."

He nodded and took out his hands from his pockets then crossed his arms across his chest. "I'm glad to hear he has you. Though, I'm quite surprised you two haven't dated yet."

You nervously chuckled then walked away from him . "What makes you say that?"

"If I were roommates with a girl, I would've slept with her the first day."

"I doubt you'd even have a girl as your roommate." You snorted. "How are you gonna get her out of the apartment?"

The bar was filled with Bucky's roaring laughter. "I like your sense of humor, y/n. No wonder why Peter likes you."

"What?" You stopped on your tracks and turned around.

"I meant, y'know, no wonder why you're still around."

You raised an eyebrow. "That poses more questions than answers, Barnes."

"He likes you as a best friend, is what I meant."

Your tummy started churning once more but you doubted Bucky had heard that with the groan coming out of his mouth after he bumped his toe on one of the tables.

"Hey, is lunch still on the table?"

you’re not a bother at all (and I never mind talking about my boy)! I know there’s been a lot of examination and meta written about this over the past decade, probably much more in-depth and better than what I can even give you right now, and of course there are very different interpretations of what it means, as well (you’re watching Supernatural), but I’m going to tell you the way that I’ve always perceived it, and hope it helps! (apologies ahead of time if I get anything wrong, I just saw S5 in December and my memory should be sharper than this, but I don't trust my foggy brain.)

the first three Horsemen we meet have very simplistic views of humanity. (Death does not to the same extent, because Death is very different from his brethren, as Death is not inherently malicious, in the way that War/Famine/Pestilence are. the others are plagues, Death merely is, as death is an aspect of life). they mentally and physically have the power to affect those around them, but they can’t truly grasp what makes people unique, what makes people tick. thus when we see Famine, he’s triggered what are mainly base instincts - cravings and enticements, which we see exhibited primarily as sex and food (and, in Sam’s case, addiction - demon’s blood). an unquenchable desire for things that people have been denying themselves.

Dean tells us, very straightforwardly:

“Hey, when I want to drink, I drink. When I want sex, I go get it. Same goes for a sandwich or a fight.”

Dean doesn’t intentionally deprive himself of those basic needs (the kids we see in lust and then attacking each other have been “waiting,” Cas doesn’t need to eat but Jimmy’s vessel suddenly is ravenous for meat, Sam is forced into seeking a high with the additional dangerous power we understand that gives him), so Dean tells Cas he’s not well-adjusted, but rather “well-fed.” and then Famine has that infamous speech.

FAMINE: “How you could even walk in my presence?”

DEAN: “Well, I like to think it's because of my strength of character.”

FAMINE: “I disagree. Yes. I see. That's one deep, dark nothing you got there, Dean. Can't fill it, can you? Not with food or drink. Not even with sex.”

DEAN: “Oh, you're so full of crap.”

FAMINE: “Oh, you can smirk and joke and lie to your brother, lie to yourself, but not to me! I can see inside you, Dean. I can see how broken you are, how defeated. You can't win, and you know it. But you just keep fighting. Just keep going through the motions. You're not hungry, Dean, because inside, you're already dead.”

now, personally I believe this is an oversimplification of the situation, but Famine can’t comprehend what Dean has been through or why he’s struggling. keep in mind this is the latter half of S5. Dean’s barely even a year past hell (that's if there was a September in between, otherwise it would be much less than that. the timeline in SPN was a bit elastic). the torture, the suffering, the trauma of that is still weighing heavily on him. the guilt of it, the horror of breaking the first seal. the knowledge of being the Michael sword, the perfect vessel. he has gone through unfathomable torment and is deeply depressed - a theme that continues through to him being essentially suicidal until Sam’s belief in him and his own defiance breaks through in Point of No Return. he’s feeling helpless and hopeless in their effort to stop the apocalypse, and the fight keeps getting harder. his own ethos of having choices and going down swinging is starting to seem hollow, and there’s something in him that’s fractured, that has been since he came back from hell, when the pain was so unbearable that he wished he couldn't feel anything at all.

there have been people who’ve posited that he craves numbness, oblivion, at this point, and I don’t perceive it that way, either - it’s that what he craves is not physical, so Famine has no ability to impact it. Famine can’t provide him hope, or faith, or safety, or love. Famine can’t give him healing or ease his depression/ptsd. Famine can’t fix things and suddenly make everything with Sam right, or put Lucifer back in his cage. anything Dean wants at that point in time is untouchable. what Famine sees as a hole of nothingness, as him being dead inside, is grief and longing that can’t be easily mended or fulfilled. Dean is exhausted and desperate for a relief that can’t be found in a burger or a bed. keep in mind that Dark Side of the Moon is only two episodes later, and we see the remnants of hope he has there that God might give a damn about what’s happening to them burn out:

DEAN: “So he’s just going to sit back and watch the world burn?”

JOSHUA: “I know how important this was to you, Dean. I’m sorry."

DEAN: “Forget it. Just another dead-beat dad with a bunch of excuses, right? I’m used to that. I’ll muddle through.”

JOSHUA: “Except… you don’t know if you can, this time. You can’t kill the Devil, and you’re losing faith, in yourself, your brother, and now this?”

Sam looks at Dean. He’s realizing just how desperate and depressed Dean really is.

JOSHUA: “God was your last hope. I just… I wish I could tell you something different.”

Famine can’t connect him to God, either - there’s nothing Famine can wield against him.

Dean also struggles repeatedly with a loss of agency, long before hell (from the moment he carries Sam out of the fire, this exists), but certainly persisting in a much more suffocating way afterwards, and at the point of My Bloody Valentine, he’s having to consider playing puppet for heaven, giving himself over bodily to an archangel. imagine the scope of that after having been relentlessly tortured in hell, realizing that yet again your body isn’t your own, what’s inflicted upon you may be beyond your control in ways that will be awash with blood (the potential death of millions of innocents in the apocalypse, in this case, something that is anathema to who Dean is, considering four episodes earlier, when asked, “is there a quota? how many people do you have to save?” he replies, “all of them.”). that blackness may feel like an empty space to Famine, but it’s actually a vastness, full of hurt and sublimation and longing. it’s far from the fact that he’s “already dead” - the depth of that depression and those psychological scars certainly can feel like endless nothingness, but we see that it isn’t when Dean reignites his courage and will in the beautiful room with Zachariah. the resilience of Dean’s heart is always so much more than even he often realizes, but he has to get to a place where he’s able to hold onto that inner capacity again.

tl;dr basically, Dean IS hungry, but his hunger isn’t of the body, it’s of the soul, and due to what Dean has specifically experienced, that’s too delicate and too far beyond the comprehension of a being like Famine, who can recognize the soul, but is unable to understand the way Dean's human reactions like guilt and compassion are affecting him, and this leaves him beyond reach.

Lancelot Kingsley

• A possessive's man jealousy is a scary thing. With his position as King in mind, it gets even scarier.

• Talking to someone for too long is an absolute no-no. He doesn't care who it is really. As long as you're seeing someone else through your eyes, he'll pull you away immediately.

• You'll have to get permission from him just to talk to a stranger because he just doesn't trust that you won't leave his side if he doesn't keep a constant eye on you.

• If he's in a particularly foul mood, he won't be afraid to throw someone into prison for just staring at you or challenging them to a duel to the death for standing too close to you.

• He does all this because he's very insecure inside. He doesn't know what to do if you leave him and the mere thought scares him to no end so he rather take such action to make sure no one would take you away from him.

• You have to change him and reassure him you won't go anywhere or else he really will deprive you of your freedom.

• The process is slow and hard but once Lancelot knows he isn't making you happy, he'll try his best to change and be less extreme with his jealousy.

Jonah Clemence

• He will fight something as trivial as a lamp post that you accidentally walked into and no one can change my mind of this.

• Jonah's not the type to hold it in when it comes to strong feelings like jealousy. After all, you should only have eyes for him! Anything else that catches your attention gets him jealous in 0.000001 seconds.

• Will definitely not hesitate to interfere in the middle of any conversation you have with any other man, even his own brother. In fact, he's more wary of his own brother out of anything since he knows how great his brother is.

• If it's in private, he'll whine and act childish for your attention. Jonah can and will take whatever you were looking at or holding in your hands out of your sight and using his height as an advantage, hold the thing as high up as he can so you can't take it back. He'll then wait for the perfect opportunity to pounce on you.

• If he keeps silent, he'll keep silent for a long time and not speak to you until you give him all your attention. He has a pout on his face through out the time he's silent and drops hints about about "what you done wrong" and "how to make up".

• If after a long time (read: two days) you don't speak to him either, he'll start complaining to the Red Army officers about you and they all get fed up by the next day and ask you to make up with him the moment they see you.

Edgar Bright

• Edgar doesn't get jealous easily; at least, he's convinced he wouldn't. He finds jealousy something that should be easily fixed but that's not always the case.

• If it's you talking the red army officers, black army officers or really anyone you know, he would be fine with it as long as they are not making advances on you. He does like to act he may be jealous when you talk to the two of you know but it's all just an act.

• If you keep talking about something or someone to him, he sees it as you trying to pull him to be more interested in other things. However if you're talking about someone very highly, he may become a bit jealous but he doesn't express it and keeps it hidden.

• Trying to make him jealous intentionally doesn't work either since he can see you through no matter how much you try to hide it. However, he would say that he's "hurt" and ask with a smirk for you to soothe his heart after.

• The only thing he doesn't like and gets him jealous is you not being around him but you are talking with the other guys. It would take a long time but eventually he would become jealous with the fact you aren't around him and around other guys.

• When that happens, Edgar keeps his smile on when he sees you but pulls you aside to someone empty. He doesn't notice how angry he looks nor how he avoids your gaze every time you try to meet his. When you're alone, he'll shower you with love and later ask you out on a date on his next day off. If you ask why he's suddenly like this, he ponders on that fact as well before realizing he's jealous.

Kyle Ash

• "Hey cup, are you trying to flirt with my girlfriend? You wanna *hic* fight?" You can't convince me this didn't happen before

• He's kinda chill and doesn't get jealous almost at all actually. Kyle knows you won't leave him and you always coming to see him is his proof of that.

• He's more like to get jealous when he's drunk. When he is drunk and depending on how drunk he is, he will fight the cup or just push the cup away lightly and give you a protective hug. If it's neither of those, he'll start getting all pouty while his cheeks are rosy red.

• People you are around often may trigger his jealousy though, mainly Blanc and Oliver. Considering much he talks about you in front of Blanc and Oliver, he's afraid one of them will steal you away and when he's drunk, he'll tell those two about that and they'll have to reassure him they won't do that.

•  Another thing that could get him close to jealousy is when someone says he isn't right for you or he isn't good enough for you. It's kind of like a taboo topic to him since in his heart, he kind of believes that too. Even if trusts you 100%, it's his own doubts he can't escape from and it hurts more to hear it voiced out from someone else.

• Someone please help him.

Zero

• He doesn't get jealous over things. In fact, he doesn't really know what being jealous even means so this is a new thing to him.

• He doesn't understand why he feels slightly irritated at the fact someone is talking to you and you're smiling at them. He doesn't understand why he feels like something.  clouded his judgement when he sees you get approach by someone else when the two of you are on a date. He just doesn't get it.

• Due to him not knowing why, he may not make a move to do anything when he feels like this in case he scares you off. He doesn't want you to run away from him so he keeps it in.

• He may ask someone about why he is feeling like this. Most likely he'll go to Edgar and Edgar teasingly acts like a proud mum who's child has just grown up but will explain to him why he feels like that. He'll explain something along the lines of: "Zero is feeling jealous because someone is taking his love's attention away and he wants to have it all to himself."

• Zero will become very surprise knowing such a feeling even existed. He may ask someone else about this thing called "jealous" before finally asking you about why he feels like this and what he should do.

• He admits to you that he wants you all to himself and unexpectedly confesses how much he loves you without himself knowing, causing you to blush and him to blush later after he realized what he said.

• Pure boy please protect

I completely disagree in the 'Friendships were formed in spite of L'manburg'. Au contraire, L'manburg was formed because these people chose each other, the country was just a bonus. See, this isn't a normal, real world government, we are talking about 7-9 people at a given time, and they all have a say as individuals. People = L'manburg and L'manburg = people, L'manberg being a side. These two concepts are unseparable until the individual themselves chooses to separate them at any time by their own volition, by just... leaving (at least after the war they had no control over, and the dictator they also had no control over), which Ranboo didn't do despite being perfectly capable to do at any time, if 'being part of a side' was such a terrible burden that forced him to hide things, and become a traitor (I could argue that he was part of L'manburg because he needed the protection they gave him, and discarded them as soon as he had to return the favor, got a better candidate (Technoblade), and was obvious that they would loose, like the hypocritic leech he is, but 1 it's a topic for another day and 2 I don't think he was intentionally written to be this scummy and it's in bad faith)

Also Ranboo "cheering" was more a figure of speech, but I understand the confusion.

Last thing I want to mention, Ranboo's entire purpose in entering the SMP was to become L'manburg's president. He should have cared about the country at least a little, and he should have tried to help repair it somehow, right? He was supposed to want to learn about it's history from the very founders, right?!? To ask questions and immerse himself in the context, learn the whys and the hows, and try to fix them or at least try to help Tubbo....

I'm not going to lie, I'm too emotional and sleep deprived for this. If you find a point in this mess of words I'll be genuinely happy.

To be a contrarian just for the sake of it: L'manburg being destroyed was ultimately a win for Dream, the most evil fucker on the server, so it's absolutely terrible in general, and I'm bitter that he won even after everything people sacrificed during the war (because they had to! Even if they wanted to leave L'manburg behind as an ideal to die for, Dream wouldn't have left them alone!) and Ranboo, the supposed "main character" agreeing with its destruction rubs salt in a deep wound. Also Doomsday is inherently immoral and those who agree with it are terrible people. Also also, the Syndicate is like one of those cancers on large animals that is actually the cancer on another cancer- in this case the Eggpire (something something Peto's Paradox something something) and they both neutralize themselves idk. As long as it stays away from Snowchester and Tommy we're gucci.

I do think that the Syndicate is inherently a side just by having a collective name, common ideas and values, etc. If L'manburg is a side then so is the Syndicate, the latter just has the privilege of being able to disband without the looming threat of danger, and possible death of its members whereas L'manburg didn't. No double standards allowed.

Finally. Phil and Technoblade aren't a side, but according to whom? If you ask Ranboo of course they're not, but if you ask Tubbo it's a completely different matter. It's very unclear to the characters themselves. That's why I think it's useless to apply the ideology in the first place. At least for now. By trying to mold the world to his own preconceptions, he's hurting people more than he's avoiding sides.

See I believe Ranboo (character) when he talks about his priorities and his conclusions. I believe Ranboo genuinely cares about people (to a fault), and I believe that Ranboo’s genuine when he spirals in intent. All of those things are consistent, often inconvenient, and show in his behavior and the things that actually happen 

I believe in some of his observations – he repeatedly makes correct observations about the state of systemic issues and parts of the cause, and often makes correct observations about other people’s failures and hypocrisies. The thing is he often has preconceived notions and limited information so certain things straight up aren’t true; he tends to tunnel vision on the negative and fail to give people credit, and constructing a systemic worldview from only one vantage point is a fool’s errand, so again, he only has parts of the picture and has definitely made some up to fit, but he certainly does, yk, have actual parts of it 

I even agree with some of his takes. I’ve seen criticism of “people not sides” as one of his unhinged conclusions (of which there are many) but I really don’t think so! That was a legitimate precept forged from a legitimate observation – that motivations that align with the interests of a system, a country, a “side” so to speak, will ultimately inherently clash with the interests of the people, the individuals that system is supposed to protect. This is actually something I legit agree with in real life! This is the Ranboo Was Right moment! It’s actually closer to describing my ethos than Techno’s is; “people not sides” is a solid fucking take 

What doesn’t concur with reality is what Ranboo makes up to fill in the gaps in his observations, or what Ranboo catastrophizes his way into expecting frm others. What doesn’t add up are his motivations and his rationalizations for his own behavior, which always come out either too clean or too warped, and which are actively inconsistent. What doesn’t add up is the nature of his self evaluation in the depths of his spirals where it’s a fight between two extreme viewpoints that are both fallacious and distorted (and are two sides of the same coin of faulty premise). What is unhinged are the systems be builds on all these fault assumptions whenever he has one of his mini character arcs while wandering around monologuing to himself and deciding he needs to singlehandedly bring about world peace. 

Ranboo is frequently wrong, has a deeply skewed and skeptical viewpoint, and on top of that is constantly both in denial to himself and lying and keeping information from people including the narration, but most of the takes I see on him fail to draw this distinction, either taking all his observations and conclusions as true and constructing the DSMP as a World According To Ranboo that doesn’t exist or being honestly really cruel and constructing a villainous, malicious, uncaring Ranboo that similarly doesn’t, which is really weird to me

Note: Since each part of this multipart ask asks a different question or makes a different point I will quote each part throughout the post, and append the screenshots after a cut for those who want to view the originals.

To preface, this series of asks is in reference to my recent prediction of what the twist in The Last Jedi will be. This post comes with a potential spoiler warning much like the original theory post.

On the first part, anon, your quoted passage actually gives me more doubts. If it’s canon that Kylo slaughtered the students, why put it in such roundabout terms? We don’t even know if the passage refers to ironbound canon or conventional wisdom in-universe. Even if it’s canon, betrayal and moral responsibility can refer to a lot of things from outright murder to giving information. If Kylo murdered the students, why not say so instead of using wording that is open to broad interpretation?

This wording could also work with a modified theory proposed by @tegdoh​ in this thread, where then-Ben unwittingly betrayed his fellow students to Snoke without meaning to kill them.

None of this absolves Kylo of responsibility, of course, especially if he covered up his role in the event and especially if he hid Rey away to avoid responsibility as I suggest. But the passage you quote, much like Han’s telling in The Force Awakens, does make me wonder if Kylo Ren as a school shooter is what we have been led to believe rather than what actually happened.

also stuff like the legends of luke skywalker confirm that luke was already travelling quite a lot after rotj. i think his temple/school was actually very informal and it was more of a community of people who studied the force together rather than luke as a pt style jedi master. this is purely my assumption but i always assumed he continued to travel and learn after forming the school, passing his knowledge on to his ‘pupils’ (2/4)

Thank you for the information, and that’s a strong possibility, too. Like I have said, I am fully prepared to be (and actually hoping to be) wrong. I wasn’t saying the school, whatever its form, was definitely gone by the time of Bloodline, only that there’s no definitive proof that it existed at that point. It just seems odd that Luke and his apprentice were out of communication for such long stretches of time that it’s a source of distress to Leia.

Even if Luke was traveling a lot, it seems to me he should have been at least reachable if he was responsible for a school. And no matter how informal the community was there was at least a building that could be burned down and where the students could be found and slaughtered, suggesting some kind of fixed location that Luke needed to be in touch with.

Even if he didn’t have the kind of responsibilities that required his presence and contact, there is still the question of influence. Why had he faded almost into myth when by all rights he should have a couple of generations of students who kept his teachings alive?

also if rey was a solo why did han and leia send an infant to luke? i think it makes more sense that if she were at the temple it was because she was lukes kid and he left her with his students/extended fam while he travelled i’ve also wondered if kylo dumped her on jakku for whatever reason but if that’s the case i really don’t think he’s going to be played as sympathetically/heroically as your theory paints him (¾)

As stated in the post, the theory itself is largely agnostic on these details and can work with just about any parentage theory. She could have been Han and Leia’s kid visiting her brother, Luke’s daughter who lived there, a Kenobi scion or Random whom Luke took in and so on and so forth. It does have more emotional weight with the first two scenarios, however.

Does my theory paint him as heroic? Maybe he’s understandable as a response to trauma and manipulation, and sympathetic for that reason, but I thought it was clear that he is a very unreliable narrator and what he did to Rey was horrible.

I said in the post that abandoning Rey on Jakku was arguably abusive, but I take it back. There’s no argument, it’s abusive as SHIT. In my theory then-Ben took Rey’s fate into his sole purview, put her beyond all help by faking her death, and even tampered with her mind. That’s control, isolation, and removal of agency, three major elements of abuse.

Note that malice is not a requirement for abuse. Even if he had the best of intentions, even if his heart ached to pieces for her, good intentions don’t erase the impact on Rey in the deprivation, loneliness, danger, and trauma she suffered. Maybe he reacted badly in the first panicked moments after the tragedy, but there was no excuse whatsoever for leaving her there for the better part of a decade. And this isn’t even going into Ren’s later crimes committed directly against Rey, those she cared about, and billions of others.

don’t take this is harsh criticism i like the base idea of your theory i just think stuff like 'he had to kill han to protect rey’ is kinda garbage. imo rian is going to make him 'relatable’ but at the end of the day he’ll still be a villain. (personally i hope he kills snoke, take his place, offers rey a chance to join him and lose it when she rejects him). rian talks a lot of shit but i think kylo will be even more in the dark by the end of tlj, he’s leading those troops to crait after all 4/4

Never be afraid to criticize me, I enjoy challenges. I completely agree it’s garbage. The “had to kill Han" part was solely from Kylo’s warped perspective and it’s why I put “had” in quotes. What he should have done was seek the grownups’ help and not take matters into his own hands, especially in a way that irrevocably changed Rey’s life.

I also agree that whatever happens in the movie Kylo will still be a villain. Heck, I think my theory makes him even more of one, just one with human impulses and feelings that should keep all of us on our toes because no one is immune from doing evil with the best of intentions. And I like your speculation, too! Very reminiscent of ESB Vader, as I think the trailer was intentionally cut to be.

also if rey was so powerful and being manipulated by snoke and kylo was also being manipulated snoke when he came up with the jakku idea, why didnt snoke ever go get her? she’s clearly very powerful in the force, maybe even more so than kylo and we see in tfa and in tlj snoke has an interest in her. if kylo left her on jakku i think he did it of his own accord, not because snoke told him to. also if snoke was in rey’s head why would he lose contact with her just because she’s on a new planet?

Well, why not turn that question around–why didn’t Snoke get Kylo? There could be a lot of reasons, such as Snoke wanting to use her supposed death and the gnawing guilt of abandoning her as a way to turn Kylo thoroughly against his parents and Luke. Maybe she was too powerful, and Snoke feared he would not be able to control her without Kylo as leverage so he had to wait.

You do propose an interesting possibility, though, so here’s an alternate version of the theory: Maybe Kylo was the one who introduced Snoke to Rey, and when Snoke touched her mind disaster ensued. Maybe Snoke did want to get Rey right away, and Kylo wanted to protect her from him and prevent other such disasters. We know that whatever connection Snoke has to Kylo is not absolute–Kylo disobeyed direct orders in TFA and had his own agenda–so this may have been an example of such rebellion. I like this version better than the original, although it debunks parts of the original (such as Snoke alluding to Rey when he said Kylo would face a test with Han).

As for why Snoke couldn’t still get to her, there are two answers: First, because Kylo evaded him as discussed above, and second, because in this theory parts of Jakku have Force properties that confuse Force sense and/or signature. Maybe this was why Kylo stopped to stare at Finn after the massacre of the village, because he thought he sensed a Force signature but couldn’t be sure due to the area’s suppressive properties.

But why would Ben/Kylo continue to be in contact with Snoke if he knew Snoke was a bad guy? For one thing, Snoke by this time was effectively blackmailing him because it was then-Ben’s action that led to the students’ deaths, no matter how innocently. For another, I think then-Ben was jealous that Rey had captured Snoke’s attention so much, and it was as much an attempt to keep Snoke’s teachings and praise focused on himself as an attempt to protect Rey. This would give him very mixed motivations.and make him more of a bad guy than ever.

(This is NOT to say that Snoke’s abuse of then-Ben under this theory was Ben’s fault, or that Ben wanted it. Under this theory jealousy would be Ben’s response to the grooming, the desperate attempt to get his fix in a situation where he was increasingly being manipulated into dependence. Hurting Rey to get that hollow validation, however, is a wrongful response to the abuse. Again, this is all hypothetical of course.)
