I am so obsessed with Neil climbing out windows. First thinking about it at Wymack’s before deciding it’s too high, then actually doing it in Columbia. He is fully prepared to analyze all of the possible exits and I’m not sure the Foxes fully consider what that means.

I have no doubts he would climb out of a hospital window and give the Foxes a heart attack when they come to visit him and find an empty bed and he won’t answer their calls (let’s be real, that phone is definitely dead). Panic ensues while Neil is chilling back in the dorms and wondering why they haven’t come back. I am reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and WOW I am getting extremely emotional over Reaper specifically. He has such a comparatively small role, and I’m not sure if we ever “hear” him even speak at any point, but there’s something about this boy that’s been pegged as a killer and the most likely winner of the Games from the start just being so extremely gentle all throughout it. He apologizes before the Games even begin for what he might have to do inside the arena, which may have just been a strategy to scare the others into staying away from him so he doesn’t have to fight or hurt anyone. I don’t think he actually harms a single person once the Hunger Games do begin. Instead, he spends the entire time keeping to himself and tending to the bodies of the other children with so much compassion and care. He collects them as they die. He covers them and lines them up and he keeps vigil over the bodies, guarding and protecting them. The only time we see him engage with anyone in a way that could be considered aggressive is when people try to mess with the bodies, and even then it seems like it’s just to chase them off.

This sweet boy spends the whole time in the arena, aware he’s most likely going to die, caring for the dead. He wraps a piece of flag (the same flag that he’s using as a funeral shroud for the others) around his shoulders like a cape and he runs around in it just to feel it flapping behind him. (Maybe he just wants one last moment of joy, a final chance to feel happiness.) He rocks himself to self-soothe once it all starts to be too much. In his final moments, once he knows he’s going to die, he uses the last of his strength to drag himself over to lay side by side with his fellow tributes, joining the other children he’s been taking care of all this time. Reaper is breaking my heart and this is the first time in a while that a book has made me cry.

how do you draw ash,,, I'm struggling to draw him. pls break him down to his essence for me so I can better understand him

He’s got a very simple design compared to all my other ocs, so in theory he should be easy to draw…. But because his design is simple it is very easy to completely fuck up one thing and end up with him not looking right (speaking from experience lol)

So! Here’s my attempt at like. Breaking him down for you. I’m not actually sure if this will help any LMAO but I hope it does :,,) I’ll absolutely do more if you need it tho like anything specific like I had fun doing this

He’s a very round boy, as in like soft edges… really the only points on him would be like. His hair or whatever. He’s got a big mouth for yappin the ear off his family members, and big eyes for lookin at his family, and long arms to hug his family, etc etc.

You would NEVER see him mad like you would my other ocs, he’s the type to start crying when put into a situation that makes him really upset (you probably wouldn’t even see him very upset either as he has a tendency to run away from situations that make him feel bad)

He’s very aware of his body and the space he takes up, so unlike my other gangly ocs he isn’t clumsy at all. He DOES find himself in awkward situations sometimes (like accidentally eavesdropping on people cus they don’t notice he’s there and he’s too awkward to move away cus what if they think he’s listening in on purpose)

He’s not very outgoing with most people and it takes him a bit to really warm up to someone, but once you’re in his good books you are never getting him to chill out. He’s got a serious case of “lack of volume control” and he talks to people like they are across a big room pretty much all the time. If he isn’t yelling he’s probably whisper talking to try and seem less obvious, he gets self conscious about taking up too much space.

He’s a big talker he’s always trying to say something to someone if they’ll let him and often times it has no relation to the current topic or situation (only he seems to notice how the topics flow together) He can and will go on for hours if no one stops him. He’s got like, an internet sized brain in his noggin so he could quite literally go on forever about literally anything (he goes down research rabbit holes for fun)

I’m thinking about Callowmoore and about how I feel like one obstacle to them being together is how much Ashton cares about what everyone thinks of them

Hear me out!! We know Ashton is our punk rock, but literally everything they do is about going in opposition to people to be continually seen and respected as rebellious, and I think that DEFINITELY includes his relationship with Fearne

We’ve already seen it with the comment of ‘I’ve always wanted a sister’ amongst other little gestures, and I think that is entirely down to Imogen and Laudna being so not-subtle about their shipping

So yeah, now I’m imagining Fearne coming to terms with her feelings and wanting to pursue them, and Ashton honestly kind of fucking her around a little bit because they’re so self conscious, and Fearne eventually saying something like ‘stop caring about what other people think of you and just do what you want to do, I’m done until you decide what the fuck that is’

Me: It makes sense why the Pokémon anime has chosen to retire Ash as the protagonist now. After winning the Alola League and now claiming victory in the Masters Tournament, he’s reached a perfect point in his journey to bring his story to a close. I mean his story, and his journey, will of course continue on even without us being along for the ride as we have been for the past 20+ years. But for the anime’s story itself Ash’s journey has reached a perfect point to close things out. I mean it’s obvious it was coming what with all the callbacks to Ash’s past companions and Pokémon. So while it is sad to say goodbye it was expected and I will be more than willing to give the new protagonists a chance in the upcoming anime adaptation of Paldea!☺️

Just finished watching Evil Dead Rise (2023) for the first time. SUCH a great movie! Probably my 2nd favorite in the franchise, right behind Evil Dead 2.

How do you feel about Ash Ketchum (aka World Champion) retiring from the anime soon?

Very bittersweet :’) On one hand it’s really difficult letting go of a core piece of my childhood, on the other I think we’ve seen p much everything there is to see from Ash’s journey and it’s at a very good stopping point now, so I’m comfortable with his story ending here.

I’m actually very excited to see which direction they go in with the SV anime, and since I absolutely adore SV’s story I really hope they adapt all of that in the new season. It sucks we won’t be able to experience that with Ash but that boy’s been carrying us long enough, I think it’s time he finally gets some rest
