Like, All of the characters have such consistently fantastic chemistry, I really can’t think of any pairing that I can honestly say would have absolutely 0 appeal.

★ Something I should've made clear beforehand ★

Hello, mun here! So I've been debating on whether or not I should really post this, but considering that this is my blog so therefore I've got nothing to really debate about to begin with if this is about boundaries I'm talking about.

So allow me to make something clear. I love roleplaying, roleplaying as Percy, my ocs, you name it. I adore every one of my followers, Im glad you all stuck around.

But.

There are times where a few lines get crossed and while I admit that I myself should have said something whenever that happens, to me it should be somewhat clear to someone else that they go a step too far. Not everyone works that way, true, true. But it's good to ask whether you're going too far or not

So allow me set the next few boundaries and reminders:

1. I'm not the real Percy Jackson

I think this speaks clearly by itself. I'm not the actual Percy Jackson, I'm an actual person behind the screen who got themselves dragged into an RP group that was supposed to fun but ended up being am experience I wouldn't even wish upon my worst enemy. I'm someone who could easily leave this RP account dead and never return to it but decide not to because this account is a comfort to me.

As a matter of fact, I’m not just Percy, fyi. My life doesn’t revolve around only roleplaying as Percy, so I’d appreciate it if you didn’t only see me as Percy but also as someone who’s just as much as a human as anyone else. I’ve got plenty of more blogs that I’ll tag in my intro later, because this ain’t the only blog I’m ’dedicated’ to.

Another thing I'd like to add is that even though I don't own or am Percy, that doesn't mean I'd like it if you control my actions. Don't make Percy do something or throw something, or anything for that matter, it's me that's roleplaying him so I'll make him do whatever I want to do whether it's a slap or a hug.

2. Lore with Percy

Listen, I've let this slide in the past and said nothing about it, but that was a mistake to do. So let me be clear; I'm not required to go along with whatever lore you have with Percy, because again, I'm not the actual Percy Jackson. Whatever you have with your OC and Percy, that's cool, but I say this with all due respect. If I'm just not comfortable with it or I'm not "going along with it like you want me to", take it to c.ai or google documents. Sounds harsh, sounds rude, but that's just how it's gonna be if I’m not okay with what you have in mind for him.

3. Ships

Okay, let me be clear. I am a multi shipper, and while I don’t like Percabeth and prefer Jercy, any ship with Percy if any rp would like is just fine. Perleo is absolutely welcome here, trust. Just a friendly reminder that Im not forced to go along with your preferred ships, so if you’re expecting mostly Percabeth on this blog then sorry to say that it won’t happen as much considering that only happened because it was required to from my former RP group.

4. My blog, my rules

I recall I’ve gotten a few anons saying that there are a few things I’ve made Percy say that he’d ‘never’ say, while yes, the way I used to RP him was ridiculous and I’ve made an effort to fix it. However, I’d like to say that considering this is my blog, therefore Percy has the headcanons I give him and so he’ll be a lot more different than the canon Percy. Some of those headcanons are based off of things I see back in myself, so he’s somewhat of a self insert in this case. But he’s still Percy, just molded differently by having added my headcanons to him.

I’m not saying I own Percy, I don’t in the slightest. I’m just saying that this is how my Percy will be on my blog and you’re allowed to disagree with my headcanons, just a friendly reminder that they’re headcanons and not something I think is actually canon. This Percy is slightly older, in some timelines he’s engaged, this is just how I see Percy after a few years. There are plenty of other Percy blogs out there if you don’t like this one.

5. NSFW

Gonna be honest, I’m known to have a dirty mind, so there are moments where Percy will say something suggestive, but that’s quite literally where it ends. Maybe he’d do something suggestive but not so far that it ends up becoming NSFW, that’s not something the public needs to see on this blog. This ain’t a smut writing blog, it’s either fluff or angst, that’s it.

6. Other Canon Characters

So, listen, I project what I have onto Percy and so on. Any other characters, like the Seven or something, those I adore and so will Percy. Nico and Will? My favorites and they will be Percy’s as well. Jason? Love him so much.

Now here’s the thing. I hate Th*lia , to the point I censor her name, so Percy will hate her too. I hate the PJO g*ds, so will Percy, including P*seidon because he’s not a good father like others say he is and I’m genuinely not arguing with anyone about that because it’s just not worth it. Absolutely love the TA and Luke Castellan himself, so there might be hints where Percy would consider joining them because (cough) Luke loml (cough).

No problem if you like/dislike these characters (well minus Luke because I’m a Luke defender haha surprise), but just so you’re aware as to why I censor their names.

7. Blocked

If you’re someone that tends to speak up their mind without thinking, whether intentional or not, I’m sorry but that’s a block from me. I’m not allowing anyone to be rude to neither me nor my friends, so I’d appreciate it if you had some common sense and choose your words wisely. I can understand that you’d want to apologize for it afterwards, but what’s done is done so you’re a little too late for apologies. Maybe I’ll think about unblocking you at some point, but don’t expect anything other than just an unblock.

8. Cussing

I have a bit of a filthy mouth so there are a few cuss words here and there, a few in Percy’s bio, too. However I promise that Percy doesn’t cuss that much, maybe at times he will but that could be when he’s really pissed off, but aside from that, no need to wash his mouth with soap.

9. Romantic Relationships with OCs

I’m all up for people wanting to pair Percy with their oc, I encourage it even, I’m shipping him with an OC of my own but we can just go along with different timelines and whatnot. One thing though, I say this with all due respect… Just don’t treat me like I’m a Percy bot on cai, because I can’t do much with dry replies and you expecting some long paragraph. That’s just not how it’s going to work, because again, I’m a human, not a bot and so it’s either ending the RP there or really trying hard to make it something until eventually I can’t think of something.

10. Jason Grace ❤️

Listen, listen… Jason has always been my favorite character and he’ll always be more prioritized by me rather than Percy considering he’s not exactly my favorite. Haha funny, roleplaying the character I dislike- yeah no I only did it because the group was desperate but I’ve grown attached to the account now and grew to understand him someway.

Anyways- Jason will definitely be the main topic on this blog because as a certified simp for him and as a Jercy shipper, that’s just how it’ll be! Jason here, Jason there… Jason everywhere! It may get annoying to some people, but again. My blog, my rules, therefore Jason will probably be mentioned a lot.

so initially i thought, for hector/lemony, i can see the potential to explore the dynamic of, two people who grew up into adults that their teenage selves would be disappointed with ("she's not just your associate, snicket, she's your sister" vs H's inaction wrt J in tvv) but then once i start thinking about H's inaction wrt J in tvv ...... and then i decided to switch my answer from "ship it" to "don't ship it"

so when i was still considering answering this ask with "ship it" i was going to make a case about considering hector could possibly survive post-canon, there's a chance of meeting up again, potentially, and it'd be interesting to explore their pre-canon vs post-canon dynamic, the difference of it all, which is not something a lot of pairings get to do because so many people died. but then they never did have much time pre-canon, and post-canon ..... there's jacques's death. i don't know if lemony would be able to forgive hector for that, or even if lemony could, if hector himself would be able to get over it and not that it hang between them. i believe they're good friends in teenage years (good enough that hector visits him) but after all that, too much has happened.

What would have made you like it?

given my previous answer it felt like i might say "tvv happened differently and H's inaction didn't partially lead to J's death" but hector's brief appearances in both asoue and atwq and the contrast in those appearances is what makes his character so interesting. if we removed that, removing that from the books - it's also not what i would've wanted. so it's sort of a paradox, really. the thing that made them impossible for me is simultaneously what made their dynamic so interesting to explore (but not in a romantic way)

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

their dynamics is really interesting to think about (as listed above) and i believe they were friends, once, and i like that and enjoy that. also hector's iconic first line in atwq "so the butler did it" is delightful and i'd like to think maybe they've discussed mystery novels when they were younger. it's fun!

okay admittedly i've never considered them before but i can see it, i think, so i'm going to answer this one as "ship it"

What made you ship it?

bec's horse girl headcanons about kit and justice strauss canonically being a horse thief when she was younger - so i can see them having this to bond over when they were younger! picture kit and strauss, maybe in their late teenage years or early 20s, crossing paths. or maybe strauss stole one of kit's horses (beasme parallel!) very fun to think about. i wish i can give you more details but i myself don't actually know that much about horses aside from all horses are the same color paradox

What are your favorite things about the ship?

i am now imagining that one time kit had to get out of a tight spot and needed to escape someone (possibly the authorities) but couldn't access her taxi or any other cars, and strauss was passing by with horses she just stole and they sort of travelled together for a while. which is a lovely image to think about.

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

hmmm .... i am drawing a blank. i don't think there are even popular or unpopular opinions concerning them.

A kinda active rp account for my main muse, Tobi/ Obito Uchiha from the iconic series, Naruto.

I’m very picky when it comes to rp partners, but as long as you’re accurate to your designated character, are literate, and follow my rules then all should go well. Meaning you passed the test, yay huh?

• I consider myself to be a literate to advance literate roleplayer. Meaning a few very detailed paragraphs. It’s my usual forte really, but if I’m feeling frisky and in the zone? Novella style. I don’t expect my partner to match my writing length, but just put in the effort at least. Have proper grammar and such, no repetition unless it’s for exaggeration.

• Not really a multi-shipper. I prefer to keep things simple and monoamorous. As long as it makes sense to me in general, like some background knowledge/past between the two. For example, Obikaka, ObiDei, Obirin.

• Crossovers/Alternative Universes plots are completely fine with me, I’m pretty open to anything as long as it’s not overly complex.

• Before you ask, yes. NSFW is allowed, just be 18 years and older. Minors dni. And don’t make it the whole plot.

• Adding onto that smut topic, I’m a strict top when it comes to that kinda circumstances. I don’t bottom or even switch. So don’t ask.

• Don’t push your headcanons onto me. I understand that we all have our own personal view and opinions, but I rather stick to mine. You can always tell me about them of course, but don’t pressure me into changing mine.

• Absolutely do NOT control my character, it’s annoying in all senses. And I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want me doing the same damn thing.

• My timezone is CT, central if you don’t know what that fucking means. So if you’re across the world and are 12 hours ahead of me, it ain’t gonna workout. Common sense.

• I’m a working adult with a life, so I won’t be online all the time unless it’s my day off. My replies may be slow due to that. Sorry in advanced.

• Still pretty new to Tumblr as a whole, so I would prefer to rp on discord instead but I can do it here as well. Or even just text about Naruto, I have no friends who watched the anime. Hello, hi, I love you! I’m extremely honored by you rereading that story, @azalealunalight, and, hoo-boy, am I happy to talk about it. ❤️

This is going to start a little down but get better.

Facets of Belonging was actually my second pass at trying to unpack Among the Lotus Eaters, an absolute garbage pile of an episode with shipper glasses off and even worse with shipper glasses on. My first try, a one-shot called The Curse of Memory, I very much wrote with my head as an attempt to make sense of at least some aspects of the garbage pile. That story got interesting comments along the lines of, “This writing is good, but I don’t like seeing Pikeuna like this.” And I didn’t either. I had tried for canon-consistency and made myself — and my characters — unhappy.

So fuck that.

Fuck that on the bathroom floor, actually.

So I wrote Facets of Belonging from my heart as a way to let love breathe the way I think it should — freely, honestly, with two people trying their best because they owe that to each other. And I had an absolute blast writing repressed Chris, Una who would have made a pass at him years earlier if she had believed he had any game whatsoever, and both of them not understanding why Batel dumped Chris (I wanted everyone to be somewhat valid there and I hope I succeeded).

It was extra fun to include all the “they were already married, your honor” details like Chris using the secret knock on Una’s door for their shared fresher, Una flawlessly reading Chris’ body language, and Chris and Una having chosen the bathroom rug together years earlier. (The first part of the story goes on and on about how comfortable and fluffy and thick the rug is because I know me and, if the story hadn’t done that, I would have spent the later parts of the story wincing as they made love on that same rug. But it’s okay because the rug is comfortable! and fluffy! and thick!)

In terms of the technical stuff, I enjoyed the shifting third person limited point of view. Having Chris and Una mentally vibing but him more brave while she’s always a step ahead and more calm as he worries — that felt right. Part of Una being a step ahead, for me, is how her consistent adjective for Chris is “exquisite,” while he thinks she’s “beyond beautiful, beyond gorgeous. Something else. Something new.” because he hasn’t gotten to “exquisite” yet … but he will.

In terms of other things that happen after the story ends — if bathroom plumbing on the Enterprise works in any way similar to bathroom plumbing in multi-family homes today, you’d better believe other crewmembers on their same plumbing line heard Una’s ecstatic screaming in the middle of the night. I like to believe Spock is among those crewmembers. Vulcan hearing and all. Gonna be quite a morning on the bridge, amirite?

Oh, and I feel like when Chris lets himself look at Una and actually consider shifting their friendship to romance, the primal attraction he feels truly put the “id” in “idiots in love,” if you will. (And him being like “whaaaa?” she called him “sweetie” was great fun.)

For me, Facets of Belonging is a Marie Kondo story — it sparked joy to write, cleaning out the mess from before. I’m absolutely pleased and honored and delighted that the story makes you happy, too, and that you asked about it. Thank you, thank you, thank you, @azalealunalight, from the bottom of my heart … and the fluffiness of Chris and Una’s bathroom rug. ❤️

Role-Play Rules/General Guideline

I normally only roleplay 'extreme' literate. That means at least over five sentences. (400 - 1000 words.) This, of course, doesn't always apply in certain cases. Sometimes a reply may be small, so be it. Feel free to DM me if you need an example of how I write. I will gladly provide you with an excerpt from a previous RP I have done, or even link you to my AO3 Account. Please have somewhat of a strong grasp of grammar. If you don't know the difference between their, there, and they're, as well as your, and you're, then we're probably not a good match. Punctuation is an exception since I myself sometimes struggle with this! I RP THIRD-PERSON POV ONLY!

I have zero triggers! This doesn't mean that I will do absolutely anything. This just means that if you have an idea and I like it/am interested, then I will accept it. Aka gore, incest, smut, LGBTQ+, Homophobia, different types of AU's, prostitution, alcoholism, drug abuse, self-harm, mpreg, etc. I should be okay with it. :) Note: I will not RP Canonverse/Canon-Divergence.

I have the right to refuse you as a partner or end the RP for any reason at any time. I am not obligated to finish it. Frankly, I don't owe you shit, just as you don't owe me anything. I mean this in the nicest way possible. I respect you as a person and I only wish the same in return. If you are unable to reply for a while, simply let me know! I will try to be understanding since real life always comes first!

DON'T SPAM! This is the fastest way to get yourself blocked. If I don't reply immediately, that probably means that I am busy. I consider myself very swift to reply to you, or at the very least let you know if I will be able to reply that day/week/month or not. If you haven't replied in over a week with no explanation I might simply nudge you. It'll possibly look like this: 'Hello, just wondering how you're doing?' 'Hey, are you going to reply this week/day?' 'Are you growing bored of the RP? Need me to do anything?' etc. Again, this is not a job. I do not get paid, so I have the right to relax. We both should. Roleplaying is how I wind down for the day/is a healthy distraction from everyday life. I'd assume it's similar for you. Take care of yourself first as I will ultimately do the same!

No God-modding, please. Unless you specifically ask, or I tell you that it's alright because I recognize that the scene calls for more action on either of our parts in order to move forward, then I will have absolutely none of that. A character can be strong, yes, but it's simply overkill if you won't allow another character to fight back, make them rich and famous and the other dirt poor... I hope you understand what I mean. RP should be 50/50 so that it is enjoyable for us both. (This rule can be exempt in certain circumstances/settings.)

Starters. This is a big one for some reason. I am willing to write a starter as long as we've spoken ahead first. I'd like to know the general plot so that I don't fuck up an idea you had/have or get the setting wrong. Again, if we message each other we should have no problems. I'd prefer if you asked first as I will always ask if unsure before writing my reply.

Where do I roleplay? Good question. I DO NOT roleplay in reblogs. I DO however roleplay on sites like Discord, Chatzy, or on Tumblr in DM’s, though my favourite is most definitely Discord.

Characters/Ships. I actually consider myself a multi-shipper and thus I tend to be generally okay with any pairing. Some examples of my favourites are Jean x Eren, Erwin x Levi, Floch x Eren, Zeke x Eren, Zeke x Levi, Hanji x Levi, etc. I don’t mind if there are ships within the RP. I actually love it when there’s things like an ex-boyfriend, one is still married, cheating, etc. It gives it some flavour. ;)

Plot! Plot is very important to me. Although I do write smut from time to time, I'd much rather RP plot with a fair bit of smut rather than purely NSFW. That simply isn't as enjoyable to me as a generally nonsexual person even though what I write on AO3 seems to be hypersexual at first glance. I know how to write it- have written it well as far as I've been told -so I will initiate it from time to time if the mood is right. Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, strangers to friends to lovers... Let's just say I eat that shit up. Bring on the AU's!

Finally, the last thing I can think of at the moment besides the whole 'I hope you understand and accept' deal, is if you have any more questions, my DM’s are always open! Hello! My name is Marr. I use He/She/Ze/They pronouns. I’m cool with any gendered terms, and I pretty much use them interchangeably myself. Gal, guy, neither, whatever!

I have ADHD and anxiety along with other things, but those are the ones I’ll probably talk about on here the most. I’m mixed White and Latina (plus Native) but mostly white (in that it’s a little more of my genetics than the others and I’m painfully whitewashed). I speak English and want to learn Spanish, but I’m definitely not fluent. American, and a lot more “country” than I realize lol (I’m a midwestern gal)… I do study a few other languages, but mostly in a linguistic sense.

I’m still very much into Total Drama! It’s one of my longest lasting hyperfixations so far, the fandom is just a little dead lol. I also reblog a few other things, like TADC, Dungeon Meshi, Lost 2004, House MD, or Gravity Falls (I… haven’t watched that one lol)

I love shipping! I can’t even list all my faves because there’s so many. Despite being AAspec… it’s my favorite fandom thing lol. LU as a whole is a giant crossover, but I've done SMASH x LoZ crossovers as well, and I won't lie, the temptation to try cross fandom content is very much there!

Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?

Yeah. Long story short, it's what got A Bride For Hyrule's Prince discontinued. I still get grief on that one from time to time IRL. Most of my online commenters are pretty great though!

I used to have a co-writer who'd try to convince me to let us combine works, mostly so she could take 'em over, but nothing got published, so no harm done. I learned a lot about boundaries from her though LOL

The sequel to Shimmering Scales. My gosh, it has been three years and I still haven't gotten this thing off the ground, no matter how hard I try!

Characterization, dynamics, and most interactions.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Setting a scene and establishing characters. It's sort of why I'm writing fic rather than working on my novels T-T

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?

It can be fun! As a reader, it makes it tricky if there's nothing in the scene to at least hint what they are saying, or a translation provided (translators aren't always accurate online) but I grew up reading books peppered with Pennsylvania Dutch, so it holds a charm for me.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

Good grief, I think I was like 12? Redwall! It started my writing journey!

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far?

Either Flight to My Heart or A Mother's Touch. FtMH, again, lacks a bit as far as execution goes, but the premise overshadows that in my mind. A Mother's Touch is more up to date with my skill now, and also charming, but simple in comparison to the rambling of FtMH. I suppose one is my favorite multi-chap and the other is my favorite one shot!

What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written?

Probably Salt Tears and Raindrops. I was in a Mood and decided to go for the tried-and-true method of putting fictional characters I like through the emotional wringer. That's how I got the rough draft for this fic :)

What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?

My two Runescape fics, Whispers in the Temple and Welcome to the Jungle. I absolutely loved going hogwild with rewriting old quests in Runescape, but I psyched myself out of Welcome to the Jungle because I got overly anxious about accidentally doing bad representation.

(in hindsight, it probably wouldn't have been as big a deal as I thought; it's hard to make it worse considering how bad Legend's Quest was with the british-african stereotypes. that quest DID NOT age well.)

I also want to finish Snake in the Grass; that was my first attempt at a genuine mystery plot and I really liked playing with Warriors in that fic in the context of the gang trying to figure out who the heck is trying to murder him.

What are your writing strengths?

I feel like I'm pretty good at dialogue! I try to make sure it matches the character's speech patterns and personality. Really well-written dialogue can tell you who's speaking without actually telling who it is. (For example, the way I write them: Minato speaks as few words as possible and has very little filter with his observations when he does share them, and Shinjiro is pretty rough around the edges, with shortened words and the occasional swear. Warriors is good with words and wit, but he has a certain military-esque directness and doesn't dance around the topic.)

I do try hard to keep the plot clear and understandable over everything else, so probably that as well.

Also, now that I think about it, maybe fight sequences? I don't do them much, but I do enjoy the challenge of making a clear sequence of what happens in a fight and trying to make it understandable. Fight sequences are easy to skip or gloss over, but I think of them like their own miniature plot. What happens? What surprises are there? What are their movesets? How do they get the upper hand? (and of course, what looks cool as fuck)

What are your writing weaknesses?

Time management. I tend to over-proofread since I beta my own work, and often I'll go back to tweak stuff if I had additional thoughts to add to it, or extra insight. Lately, it takes longer to write chapters than I'd like.

Also, dialogue-heavy scenes often get very chaotic in my WIPs because of the way I rough out fics. I'll throw together a bunch of dialogue bits I think would be cool to include, and sometimes they'll clash or get really messy, especially if there's lots of characters (looking at the latest two chapters of Stygian Ringlet)

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?

I think it's cool! It adds flavor to fics. If it's more than one short phrase though, or if it's story important, then I do prefer that there is a translation in the author's notes. I haven't done any non-English dialogue in fics, save for one memorable adventure into trying to figure out how Latin grammar structure works for a character that didn't speak English.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

Wizard101 and Pirate101. I was obsessed with those two for YEARS. I really, really liked pirate stories in high school, and having a cast of crewmates that accompany you throughout the game really inspired me to write my first fic featuring my OC. (I was also into One Piece at the time, but I never wrote for it.)

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far?

Stygian Ringlet. It's really dear to my heart. I have poured so much love and effort into that fic, and the reception on it has completely blown me away.

Sooo here we go:

Tyzula: my favorite female Azula ship because it was my first Azula ship and in general the first Azula story’s I’ve read, I just love the ship but I don’t like Ty Lee kinda ending up as Azula's care taker

Sokkla: my favorite male ship if not even Azula ship, what can I say, besides that I really love it because have you seen the fanart, community and story’s, they’re all incredible, also they fit well together in so many levels.

Azutara: I haven’t read much of it but what I’ve read was really to my liking, especially the story’s of @theowritesfiction and @juniperhillpatient are really good. Furthermore a while back I’ve admitted they’re the most attractive ATLA pairing, both are also bad ass lady’s and I see working well together.

Maizula: For me a very underrated ship that I definitely need to read more of, also here so far what I’ve read I only liked, I especially have the maizula story in my head from @bellatrixobsessed1 where Azula becomes a little dirt gremlin and meets Mai in her flowershop.

Azulaang: Im warming up to it. I really like the Azulaang story’s of sablefalls. It needs much character development to happen where I can see this happening but I’m not against it.

Azuki: Tbh I never thought about this ship but I can see them definetly working well together. The only story I’ve read was Fading Falsehoods from @bellatrixobsessed1 and I liked it very much.

Jetzula: Why not, I’ve never read a jetzula story so it’s hard to really judge

Azula/Kuei: definetly a crack pairing for me but @dreaming-in-fire story made me curious

Azula/OC I’ve so far only know two good OC's that were very good with Azula and one of them is Hoelun from @lightdancer1 story’s. I adore them. If the OC is really written as character and not some self insert I definitely can see some good romance story developing.

Tophzula:

My ATLA BROTP, I’ve never thought about them being in a relationship romantically but there was recently some nice fanart that made me rethink on that point.

Now the most controversial Zucest:

I have nothing against it and I’ve read story’s from @hello-nichya-here, especially when my mind is in the gutter also the story from mon ami @loiseau-lyre is pretty good, but only if this kinda story’s are to your liking if not then don’t read it.

So I have my favorites but still would consider myself a Azula multi shipper because I couldn’t even give a Lego brick about the ATLA canon. The Alta canon is not salvageable for me in its current state if I consider the comics as canon, but that is something I never will do, muahahaha…. Oh yes I very much despise them, but I have to stop before I rant to much about the comics and other post show material released in the past years.

i want a way to find other ppl who’re into (or at least willing to consider or talk about) smaller, weirder/more situational ships. nothing against the big ships, but it’s way easier to find ppl to talk about big ships with than someone who’ll even consider listening to ideas about rarepairs—and yeah that’s kind of the deal with rarepairs but there used to at least be some. in pens fandom specifically it feels like smaller ships died off after the 2018 collapse—there was so much fic about the young callups during the 2016 and 2017 cup runs, but now there isn’t even a single fic for po joseph/drew o’connor on ao3 even though the wedding car prank would’ve been enough to spawn a good dozen back then. and whenever i do see a new rarepair fic crop up on ao3 it’s almost impossible to find the authors elsewhere, and in other fandoms ppl seem to have forgotten what crackshipping even is almost entirely. where did all my old rarepair buddies go? there’s gotta be some of them out there somewhere but i don’t for the life of me know how to find them again, and it’s so damn lonely without them

That's really interesting; I wonder if rarepair-interested people left hockey entirely or shifted to other team fandoms; I feel like I see a fair amount of "ship anyone with anyone" activity for a few other teams, but I also think those teams lacked a "big" ship, meaning fans were sort of starting from scratch, as opposed to working within a team that had a ship with more (sub)cultural weight or history.

I also wonder if different people are drawn to different teams for similar reasons. like, if you're into an established couple's dynamic (like sidgeno) you might be more inclined to become a pens fan if. you're entering through shipping, but on that same bent if you're into a different dynamic (rivals to lovers, young guns, whatever) you might just become a fan of a team that visibly offers that! I think, too, with multishipping/multi-team-supporting being very common these days, some people might say "why should I ship two fourth liners from pittsburgh when I can get a similar dynamic on this other team?"

I also sometimes worry that in pens fandom specifically we don't foster rarepairs enough because there's a healthy handful of us (myself deeply included) who don't ship that many other pairings. like... if you're interested in doing a lot with a big cast of characters, you might look at pens fandom (and its relative dominance by sidgeno shippers) and be like... nah, I'll just go somewhere else. that's sad! it's not the energy we should really be fostering, but as someone who isn't deeply inspired by, say, poj/doc, I don't know how to help bolster that side of fandom when I'm not going to be creating content for it.

I think about this a fair amount... you know, just wondering if the way I've chosen to do fandom (I write what I want to write for, I just keep focused on that) is good for me but maybe not great for the fandom environment entirely. like, I'd love if more people read sidgeno *and* other penguins pairings, and supported the team and were involved, but it's always the question of "where do you find people to get interested?" and then "how DO you get them interested?"

it's a sticky situation. I feel for you, anon, and I hope we can see more crackshipping and rarepair delight in the near future!

Why I Believe Angel and Husker Will (or Should) Be Endgame

As a shipper and a writer, I pride myself on finding the meat in shipping material, and despite how little official content for it is available, Hazbin Hotel’s juiciest pairing (by my observation, and not counting Charlie x Vaggie cuz that’s already canon) is Huskerdust or Angelhusk, the main mlm pairing in Hazbin Hotel between Angel Dust and Husker. While I’m a big fan of any mlm pairing no matter how small the serving size, this one is an absolute feast, and I want to explain why I think that is, because Angel flirts with multiple men in the first episode, namely Sir Pentious, Alastor, and Husker. So he just comes across as a relentless flirt, but I believe his destiny truly lies with the grumpy sourpuss bartender.

Given what we’ve learned about Angel Dust from the Addict music video and the prequel comic, it’s becoming clear that Angel doesn’t exactly love his situation. He pretends it’s fun and glamourous for his image, but it’s all an act. In the very last pannel for the comic, we can even see a box of dildos in his room with the words “for fun” crossed out, and the box being relabled as “work stuff”. I believe that Angel’s arc and character growth will be strengthened by having a love interest who cares about Angel as something beyond a sex object. Travis and Valentino clearly only see Angel as a piece of meat. Even Tom Trench one of the... less horrible denizens of Hell we’ve met, only recognizes Angel as a porn star, implying that he too only values Angel for his body. The creators have even verified that Angel will have a love interest in the series. So, that’s the easy part. Angel’s very clearly a gay man, and him having a love interest will help put the romance back in relationships with men for Angel. No surprises there. So why will/should it be Husker who fulfills that role as Angel’s redeeming lover?

In the simplest terms, it’s because their needs fit together perfectly. Angel needs someone to care about him romantically that also values his emotions, mind, and autonomy instead of just his body. Husk has likewise pretty much spelled out the flaw he needs to fix. He lost the ability to love years ago. Whether he just shuts out his emotions, someone broke his heart and now he’s jaded and bitter, or he freezes out his feelings so he won’t get hurt again, Husk has rejected love and his feelings. Learning to love and open up to Angel helps Husk to overcome those toxic coping mechanisms. Especially because his other vices such as drinking, are an extension of his core issue. His hang-ups with love. He drinks to forget and suppress. Overcoming his issues with his emotions will help Husk free himself of other sins in the process. Now the important issue though, does Husker even like boys? Yes, he does. Husker was confirmed by members of the crew to be pansexual, so he is capable of finding Angel attractive. Also, on a related note, Alastor is both Asexual and Aromantic, so he’s very unlikely to give Angel the core thing he needs, the tender appreciation of his romantic partner. That’s not to say Asexuals and Aromantics can’t date, it’s just less probable. And all the other males are either villains, or objectify Angel already. Which kind of leaves Husker as the best candidate for Angel’s love interest, at least currently. In fairness we know very little about Baxter, but that’s the thing. Without knowing anything about him, we can’t really weigh him against the other options.

Character design is very important, as it can provide visual cues about a character. Looking at these two, they share a lot of similarities. Starting from the top, while not visible here, there is a heart-shaped spot on the back of Angel’s head, and this heart appears as well on Husker’s forehead, palms, and wings. More importantly, I may be wrong, but I believe the only characters with hearts in their design are all connected to Angel. Only Travis and Val share this heart motif, two men Angel has had sex with, though in Valentino’s case, it's not always willingly. They share their wearing of a bow tie, but to be fair, Charlie wears one too, as does Sir Pentious, so it’s a weak connection. Color theory also matters. Firstly, they are Yin and Yang. Angel is mostly white with a few dark accents, while Husker is mostly dark gray/black with white accents. Angel’s left eye, bow tie, and shorts/skirt are also the same color (or pretty close) as Husker’s darker fur patches on his forearsms, ankles, ear tips, and whiskers. The stripes on Angel’s top also repeat in Husker’s ears. Finally, while not repeating on Angel’s design, Husker’s fur on his ankles resembles spats, a fashion trend from the early 1900s. Although this trend was pretty dead in widespread use by the 1940s, it remained popular with gangsters and mafia, so much so that it’s almost a streotype of mafia. Angel’s family was an Italian crime family involved with mafia dealings. So while it makes little sense for a man who died in the 1970s to be wearing spats, it connects him to Angel’s ballpark of time as well as drawing connections to Angel’s past and his family.

Hazbin Hotel has Instagram accounts for the characters, and using Husker (bar_cat75) Angel Dust (angie_fluffy_bootz) and Niffty (babyfeathrdustr), we can put together further developments in their relationship off-screen. Starting with one of Husker’s posts, we see Angel leaning on the bar offering him a ticket to his “peep show”. The next post shows Husker still at the bar, but now there’s drool on the counter, and we can see the back of one of Angel’s legs and the red smoke from the Addict video trailing behind him with the line “Fuck, I passed out. Did I miss something?” Next, there’s a post from Niffty of Angel leaning on the railing smoking as he does in the post-credits sequence of the Addict video. Granted, I can’t tell how much of Addict is prequel and how much is happening in real time following the pilot, but we know at least the ending is canonically after the pilot episode. Seems like Angel wanted Husker there (we don’t know if he offered tickets to anyone else) and he seems bummed that he didn’t go, with a later message from Husker (that I can only seem to find in Tumblr posts) with Husker realizing that he missed Angel’s show and feels bad about it. As “owing” Angel a favor for missing his show, Angel leaves his beloved pet pig Fat Nuggets in Husker’s care, who proceeds to eat all of Husker’s limes and cherries. Now it is very important to point out that Fat Nuggets seems to fill the dual role of “purse dog” and emotional support animal for Angel, so leaving him in Husker’s care shows a lot of trust because this animal means a LOT to him. There’s also apparently rumors that Alastor keeps trying to eat Fat Nuggets which... I haven’t found a credible source for. But if Angel is worried about Fat Nuggets’ safety, him trusting Husker to protect his pig only further demonstrates his trust in the grumpy old booze cat. Upset about all the fruit Fat Nuggets ate (because it’s not easy to get in Hell) Husker wants Angel to pay to replace what the pig ate, but Angel argues that because Husker owed him a favor it’s not his responsibility. Angel says he’ll pay him if Husker agrees to come to his next show, and they compromise to get milkshakes instead. The creators said Husker was a Tsundere, and it shows. Someone called their outing a date, and Husker was QUICK to shout that it wasn’t a date, just settling up on a favor. This almost plays out like an episode 2, turning the Addict Video into the jumping off point for a second story in the hotel. I don’t know how many full narratives will come out of the Instagram accounts like this, but it’s really cool how they’re approaching this almost like a multi-media story, and I’m curious to see if this will continue when the show starts airing on television. One last thing of note is that in Angel’s latest post, there’s pictures of Fat Nuggets, Cherri Bomb, and Husker on his bedroom wall, much to Husker’s annoyance. In all of these Instagram posts, Angel seems to now be training ALL of his attention on flirting with Husk, to the point that unless another character sweeps Angel off his feet or causes Angel to start flirting with them instead of Husker, I think this pairing is sailing quickly and unopposed toward the canon zone.

I hope I’ve provided sufficient proof to back up my wild accusations, but I sincerely believe all of the building blocks have already been assembled to create a compelling romance between these characters. The flaws they need to overcome interlock with each other perfectly, their designs draw connections between them, and their Instagram accounts weave together a narrative for a soft Episode 1.5. I believe all of this together points that these two are meant to become a romantic couple, and if they aren’t, then maybe the showrunners should consider it.

Hi I just feel like I need to ramble and maybe some one else out there feels the same way. So in the AOT I’m not all that big on ships just because shipping really isn’t my thing but I do enjoy it to an extent. I consider myself to be a multi shipper because again the relationships in AOT are so complex and I love all the characters and their dynamics. My biggest “ship” would be Eurihan just because that trio to me is all sorts of fun and I love their dynamic.

But with that being said, I find myself to be drifting farther and farther away from the Eruri aspect just because as I continue to reread the manga and pay attention to the themes of the story canonically speaking I don’t actually see any “romance” between them. The Fannon concepts of Eruri are fun and beautifully tragic with the fan arts and stories especially in modern AU. They are a very attractive couple and I fully understand the hype but canonically speaking I just don’t see it anymore. I love their dynamic as a whole and brings such a complex look to both Levi and Erwins character that their friendship is something to admire.

And with that being said I feel their complexity of characters and their story gets lost within the fandom. I think the term that is used is “shipping goggles” when canon stuff of the original story gets lost or replaced for the sake of the ship. Which in this case I feel happens a lot in Eruri specifically.

Now I really don’t want people to feel I am bashing Eruri. I’m obviously a fan with my own fan art and my interactions with mutuals so please no one take offense. This is just a quirk I have in every fandom when canon material gets lost for the sake of a ship.

Specifically with Levi.

Now I understand my biases consider Levi is my favorite character and I truly Kin him. But when I watch edits or read DJs or even just scrolling through things like tumblr or Twitter I find myself avoiding the Eruri tags because I get so frustrated when all I see if Levi’s entire character being based around Erwin. The concept that Levi is only alive to fulfill Erwins promise or he only fights for Erwin and completely derailing his character to be centered around Erwin is frustrating.

Levi fights for all the scouts since the very beginning. When else first meet him and he promises the dying scout he would eradicate the Titans, this is a shared dream the scouts had and has said he will do what he can for All of them. Not just Erwin.

Now this isn’t to disregard Erwins importance to Levi. Erwin gave him a purpose to live, he was his friend and trusted comrade and felt he was the best for humanity. Erwin is important to Levi no one is saying other wise. He just isn’t the center of Levi’s world.

Levi trusted Erwin because he saw something bigger than himself and Levi wanted to help Erwin get there because Levi himself if a very loving and selfless character. This I find to be so beautiful of Levi’s (and mikasas) character.

When Levi learns the truth behind Erwins actions and his selfish reasons to fight for humanity was for the sake of seeing in the basement really sent Levi into turmoil. (I feel this is WITs fault for not expressing this properly in the anime) this is why he continued to pester and push Erwin to know his motives past the basement, because Levi wanted to believe he was this selfless leader he had been finessed into believing he was (because we can’t forget canonically speaking Erwin is a con man and enjoys gambling which makes him and great leader)

Levi tells Erwin to die so he would continue to go down with the facade he was a selfless leader and to continue to live up to the expectation. Levi accepted this fault of Erwin just as he had accepted the faults of all his comrades and their selfish actions.

Levi was canonically devoted to Erwin, but not in the romantic way.

Erwin also never expressed a “interest” in Levi in that matter outside of their friendship and Levi’s abilities. It also should keep in mind that Erwin was ultimately in love with Marie, and chose not to have a family and a wife (which he actually wanted) to avoid having a widow. We can head cannon all day long about how “he realized in his last moments” or “behind the scenes” or interpreting smart press stories a certain way to fit the narrative but it’s just important to remember the difference between cannon material and your own HCs.

Now I know a lot of people will read this and think “wow a levihan shipper wrote this” and you would be right I also ship levihan as well. And they are also not cannon in a relationship as well but the romantic implications for them specifically cannot be ignored because you don’t like them. Levi and Hange are canonically best friends. They are known as the “abnormals” of the scouts. They know each other the best. Their relationship is so complex it cannot be defined as a friendship. (Even Moblit admits he doesn’t have a bond with Hange like Levi does) and it’s okay if you just see them as friends, and I honestly don’t blame a lot of people who do considering WIT really bit the bullet with missing key Levi and Hange moments to better fit their dynamic (I’ve seen people say they aren’t even good friends and that breaks my heart they are besties )

And honestly why wouldn’t you want to ship levihan? This ship in my opinion is the least problematic with the least controversy to it. It’s comforting and sweet and gives a sense of love and family. It’s literally a best friends-> lovers trope. Their friendship is what makes this ship in my opinion so pure and honestly why I fall in love with it more everyday.

And I know some will say “what about Moblit?” And honestly, it bothers me how much he is used to argue levihan because I ultimately feel his character also gets dumbed down as a default for Hange just for shipping and it bothers me too.

*and honestly guys Hange and Moblit isn’t even that great in a ship since considering Moblit became an anxious alcoholic trying to take care of Hange and Hange would get so caught up with their work they wouldn’t even notice. NOTE: they obviously cared for each other as comrades and Moblit felt Hange was needed for humanities survival and cared for them obviously but just my opinion I don’t see that ship working in my opinion.

But in reality guys, I never saw any of these characters “getting together” because they’re soldiers. Their hearts were dedicated to the cause of saving humanity first so that’s the beauty of AOT and the ambiguity of the characters relationships with one another because ultimately they all have attributes to love and benefit each other. Even with the forest scene and the plane for Levi and Hange, I never expected A “happy ending” for them in the sense of platonic or romantic because that doesn’t fit their canon narratives. Levi was destined to be the last soldier standing and brings the complexity of being the perfect soldier with a human heart.

*though the implication of romantic feelings never being acted on were there because they indeed paralleled with eren and mikasa

Levi’s literally means “attached” he attaches himself to the people he cares about and dedicated his strength and ability to help others gain their hopes and dreams.

Erwin tragically lost his humanity to become the devil for the sake of humanity which ultimately left him fruitless to his venture.

Hange taking on the burden of making the tough decisions and shouldering the weight of the deaths of the soldiers and Erwins legacy left them feeling loss and useless until their sacrifice.

All these characters have such complexity to them, they are all deeper than their fannon ship and should be appreciated and the narrative shouldn’t be shifted for the sake of a ship.

Levi didn’t fight to the end for just Erwin he did it for all of them.

So again, sorry for my rambles and I hope there will be those who read this and understand where I am coming from with this and understand though I will continue to ship all three, it still makes me sad I feel I can’t interact with some without them destroying entire characters for the sake of the ship.

So again love ships not ship wars. That’s the fun part when ships aren’t cannon you can just mix and match whenever you feel like it ❤️❤️

OK, let me start off by saying that I never thought about shipping the boys until after I ran into your account, and I gotta ask, what do you see in these two?

Do I personally ship anyone? Not at the moment, but that might change. I just started watching the anime and read the first two volumes. I usually just shipped myself with Chigiri. He's just so hot AF! ����

Okay, so to answer your first question about what I see in them:

I’ll be honest. I started shipping them after episode 1 of the anime. Bachira saying “I like you” right off the bat just made me go 👀👀👀

On top of that, Bachira was exactly my favorite type of character in fiction: wild and unhinged. You can say I immediately fell in love with him after that stunt he pulled on Kira. I started bingeing on the manga just to see more of him. I didn’t even care that much about Isagi then.

Since you’ve read only two volumes of the manga, I can’t explain in detail about why exactly I love these two. But what makes BachiSagi really special to me is that, aside from loving them as a ship, I also love Bachira and Isagi as individual characters.

Usually, when I ship characters, it’s just because I love their interactions. Sometimes, I’d stan one character of the ship, but most of the time, I stan neither, and my blorbo would be a random supporting character who I don’t ship with anyone. Like, I shipped Viktuuri from Yuri on ice, KageHina and AtsuHina from Haikyuu, and T2 from Yowamushi Pedal, but that didn’t mean I stanned Viktor, Yuuri, Kageyama, Hinata, etc. as stand-alone characters. And it’s not that they’re bad characters, either; I just didn’t care.

But Bachira and Isagi make me care so damn much.

And gods, I really want to wax poetics here, but I don’t want to spoil anything for you, so maybe just ask me this question again once you’ve caught up with the manga.

No one, lol. I’m in my 20s, so all the characters are like children to me haha. I do find Kaiser hot, though. We don’t know his age yet, but he looks at least 18. But Kaiser as a boyfriend? Hell no. I’d be annoyed to death 😂

B. Who do you consider to be the more dominant one in BachiSagi?

No one. They are equals. Partners. They take turns giving and taking. Bachira may initiate the intimacy, but it’s not like Isagi is being dragged into it. He genuinely enjoys Bachira clinging onto him and so he just lets him.

C. Who else do you ship?

A lot, haha. Being a multi-shipper is so much fun. I ship Ness/Kaiser, Kaiser/Isagi, and Isagi/Kurona. These are just casual ships, though. I enjoy their interactions, but my endgame would still be BachiSagi.

KLAINE (kurt x blaine) - and listen if u have klaine slander ur entitled to that. it is in no way a perfect ship, it has its moments for sure. but this is not the place for your discourse so kindly take that somewhere else. anyway i love these guys. so freakin much. they have such good chemistry and the way that they look at each other… chef’s effing kiss. this isn’t just a klaine post tho so i’ll keep it moving.

FABERRY (rachel x quinn) - eeee what do i even say?! first of all quinn is so queer coded it’s unbelievable. like ur telling me that girl isn’t a lesbian? come on. and second, i never saw rachel as gay until i came across this ship, but i see it as being kind of an insecurity of hers. like, she’s got all this stuff going for her and a secret she doesn’t know how to let out? idk. queer!Rachel doesn’t usually cross my mind except for in this ship cause it’s so cute and i love it

BRITTANNA (brittany x santana) - first of all this was the first canonical wlw ship i was ever really exposed to and they hold a special place in my heart for that considering i like girls 💅. but in all seriousness, i love their chemistry, i love santana’s whole “i hate everyone but you” thing and brittany just being fabulous and perfect. they are two of my fave characters also so…

BLAM (blaine x sam) - okay, so i don’t consider myself a multi shipper, but… if i had to pick up a backup for blaine, and if we’re staying within canon, relatively, i would have liked to see this as a hook up or a short lived thing in season 4 after blaine cheats on kurt :( or maybe in season 6 before the wedding bevause if everything is so effed up anyway might as well exchange that whole karofsky situation… yikes. it’s not endgame for me because they’re just bros but i do really like the idea

QUINNTANA (quinn x santana) - this was the gateway drug that led me to faberry which is why it’s in number five. i’m not going to lie, they had a lot of sexual tension in seasons 3-4 and that hookup at the ‘wedding’ was long awaited. again not endgame, but it’s more endgame material than blam. the reason it’s lower on the list is because i don’t care as much about their relationship dynamic as friends as i do with blaine and sam.

PEZBERRY (santana x rachel) - i need to stop prefacing like this because pretty much nothing on this list qualifies as endgame anymore after britanna. this is cute. would i read a fic about it? yeah. would i gush over fanart? sure. would i freak out of this had been canon in any way? definitely. but it’s not a hardcore ship, and they wouldn’t end up together.

MIKE X TINA - we’re really getting to the idc section of this post, because i have literally zero opinions on mike chang. i love tina though, and i think she was the best when she was with him… particularly in season 3. i love season 3 tina. love her!

FINCHEL (finn x rachel)- again, i don’t care. finn is a very neutral character imo - like i never really felt strongly one way or the other about him his whole time on the show. but, i liked seeing him happy with rachel, even though it seriously got in the way of my otp

ARTINA (artie x tina) hated this in season 1, hated it in season 6. but, it would have been cute if the writers had given it more thought instead of just making it a side ship, because they were obsessed with having everyone in the glee club pair up. ugh, i don’t know. it could be okay if it was actually done well.

HEVANS (kurt x sam) - no? i mean, there’s nothing inherently wrong except they hardly have a relationship, at least in the better part of the series. i just don’t see the appeal tbh. no hate to hevans shippers though :)

PARTIE (puck x artie) - listen i don’t like pick and i definitely wouldn’t say i ship this… but it’s interesting. i’m not opposed. i’m sorry idk what this is either

PINN (?) (puck x finn) - listen… tina’s dream sequence where they were supposed to be playing kurt and blaine? it was freakin cute and while i just think they hate each other too much to ever have a romantic relationship, i think a one-sided pining situation is cute for them, or maybe a short lived high school thing. i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. not endgame.

QUICK (quinn x puck) - it’s inherently problematic. i could go on and on about how quinn deserves better but it would be awful not even to mention the degree to which this is messed up. puck literallt sexually assaulted quinn- he got her drunk so he could have sex with her. it’s a big no for me. besides, even if that didn’t happen, these two would never make it.

Do you respond to comments, why or why not? I do, though I confess sometimes it takes a little while! I want people to know I appreciate that extra effort they put in to let me know they enjoyed my stories. Honestly, seeing a comment makes my day. What is the fic you’ve written with the Angstiest ending? I don't do angsty endings. There might be tension in the middle of a story, but it is always resolved by the end. Joi is a certified fluff writer. Do you ever write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve ever written? I have never published a crossover, but one fateful NaNoWriMo I did take my original characters and plop them on board the Enterprise with Star Trek TNG characters because I was frustrated with my story. And it helped! Troi helped me learn things about my antagonist. Of course, once I got to better understand his motivations, I stalled again because I didn't want to kill him. Oops.

Have you ever received hate on a fic? I have not, thankfully. And, as an ace writer, I know this can happen.

Do you write smut? If so what kind? I do. I write fluffy smut. Occasionally it strays into very light kinky-fluffy smut.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of... Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not yet, but I've have had an offer and considered it. My problem is I barely have the confidence to publish a story let alone share the writing experience with someone else.

What’s your all-time favourite ship? That's not really a fair question. It begs me to say whatever is my current fixation. But I have loved every one of my ships with my whole heart. Mulder/Scully brought me into fandom. Janeway/Chakotay made fandom into a home that I could decorate to suit my tastes. Dresden/Murphy taught me that I can write my own stories, even if the plot is wonky or non-existant. Kirk/Spock showed me how deeply I could burrow into a ship and how diverse/multi-generational fandom can be. Being a Doctor/Multi-shipper taught me things about myself and gained me friendships that I treasure. Aziraphale/Crowley is the queer gift that fuels me.

What was the first fandom you wrote for? I'm not sure if I ever wrote down any of my X-Files fic or if I just daydreamed a lot. I know I wrote for Star Trek Voyager and published a couple things. Yes, I still have printed versions of them in my possession. No, I will not share them. lol

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? I'm going to cheat a little and instead of picking an individual story I'll say: Too Many Beds Series Not only is it the longest thing I've published (collectively, just over 32k), but I was delighted to find that my readers enjoyed my original characters as much as I did. I don't think the sequel would've come about without that encouragement.

Okay, but it’s not one person, it’s several. I said a friend, but that friend interacts with many like minded folks. I’ve seen it all. I understand what’s going on. I may not be in the fandom, but I’ve witnessed from afar. I’ve seen enough to understand the basics, something you still clearly lack.

Fine, if it wasn’t you, then I take it back that on this occassion, it wasn’t you, tho I’m still doubtful with how much I’ve seen of you and how many enemies you’ve made. It’s not farfetched to assume it’s you. Point still stands tho; don’t shame content creators for making content. Just say you dislike the ship and go (which is 100% valid btw, and if people hate you for it, then those are bad eggs you avoid).

Yeah but... it’s still canon, like, pretty much... While it’s not in your face “I love you”, it’s clear what the intentions are meant to be. One of the VAs did a whole stream, and in one moment, he was asked what he wished he could’ve said that didn’t make it into the game, the line being something along the lines of “we would’ve been great together.”

Sure, VAs are not the creators of the game, but this goes in par with a statement about how the Shuake relationship is supposed to be a love story. It’s not pretty, Goro being an antagonist who is problematic, but... ships are allowed to be problematic. And he even changes and becomes a better person, because of Joker.

Sorry, but that’s false. There are plenty of multi-shippers out there who don’t just “tolerate” other ships but downright engage with it. My friend is one of them, and she even has friends who also don’t like Shuake. What do they do? They mute it and move on, and nothing else is said on the matter. If you’re seeing people that are doing otherwise, then yet again, maybe avoid them and find people who won’t shit on you, which by the way, you seem to bundling all these people in a bucket and labelling them “problematic” when they’ve done nothing wrong. There’s a reason you’re well known...

People have even tried to reach out to you to help you because this is completely not healthy, but all you’ve done is smack away any offered hands. We can only do so much...

Gatekeeping, there’s that word again. Do you not even comprehend what your actions are doing? You’re the one gatekeeping! “Don’t ship Shuake because it’s a toxic ship! Meanwhile, I’m hogging Goro all to myself.” My friend is not a gatekeeper. In fact, she fought back against gatekeepers. She’s a very open person who welcomes all ships and things. She literally doesn’t give a fuck.

Again, if you run into negative people, block them and move on. Not everyone is out to get you, and if you’d only give them a chance, who knows, you might make some friends. Hell, if you realized what you were doing, they might still welcome you, but you are hell bent on burning bridge after bridge until there’s nothing but cinders.

Actually, let me you a story. Last year, there was a BIG ruckess in another fandom I’m in, and it was ugly. Very ugly. Why? Because many of the fans considered one of the characters to be 100% gay. While I also believed he was, I could see the potential of him not being. My friend (same as the above) was also very heavily involved, because she saw him as bisexual.

There’s little evidence that he was anything but gay, but that didn’t mean he just was purely on what we saw. Of course, many did not like this, and a lot of noise happened. I ended up blocking a lot of people and also being blocked in the process, because they couldn’t handle the possibility of a character being bi, even tho it was never stated he was gay, just hinted at.

Besides, it’s fandom, and things change. Sexualities change, gender changes, all things can change. But no, they’re of the purity culture brand, and if you said something that wasn’t the popular thing, you were shunned. It made me consider leaving the fandom, but I remained.

You see... I too have dealt with such people, and there may be a lot of them. If there are, then don’t give them a second look. Seek out people who are open to discussing all and other things. They exist. If you had a bad experience, then I am sorry, okay? No one should feel that way in any fandom. Fandoms are meant to be fun. I want you to have fun. I do. I don’t want you stressing and yelling and pushing people away.

So I had heard that you use to create content for it, but I implore... do it again. Create solo Goro content. By all means, if you truly aren’t ready or don’t wish to, then don’t, but also, don’t let people win. People will welcome your solo Goro content. There’s nothing wrong with solo content of anything. He doesn’t need to be tied a ship 24/7, but he’s still going to be tied to that ship quite heavily, but it’s not 100%. Nothing will ever be 100%, because you’re allowed to hate the ship, and others do too, and that is fine!

2 years then. 2 years... That’s still a long time. Perhaps tho... these people you interacted with have moved on from the fandom, and in turn, in 2 years, many people have since joined the fandom. Perhaps you are comparing people from 2 years ago to people today. If any of those people from 2 years ago are still around, then don’t engage. They aren’t worth your time if you were polite about an opinion that you have no control over. Liking a ship is like liking a genre of music or TV show. You can’t force it.

You are allowed to want to see solo Goro content, and people do, or ship him with someone else that isn’t Joker. It exists. It won’t be as popular of course, because that’s just the nature of their relationship so of course many are going to be drawn to it, but that doesn’t mean everyone is drawn to it.

You realize you don’t have to pay people within the fandom, right? You can just... approach literally any artist/writer and go “hey, this is what I want, yadda yadda”, they create the thing, you get your thing, badda bing badda boom. However, if you did wish approach someone within the fandom, then do so... So long as they aren’t a jackass about your dislike for the ship, they will most likely create the thing you ask for. People like money, so it pays to be open minded about other ships instead of just refusing said money just because they perosnally don’t like it.

To anyone who went after you, that’s still not a reason to lash on other people for them to witness you at your worst. You’re literally not giving any of us a reason to believe you are approachable, but you’re just angry. To anyone who made you feel like shit, then fuck them, okay? FUCK. THEM. But that doesn’t mean others are going to do the same. I don’t think a single fandom is immune to toxicity of some variety. It’s never going to go away, and that’s the price you pay for being in fandoms.

I admit, my sources are not coming from the source, but from what I’ve seen from others. So give us a reason on why you aren’t the person we all think you are. All I see from you is hate, hate, hate. I don’t want you to be unhappy. In fact, I feel bad for you, scared for you even, because there’s nothing but hatred and foulness coming from you. You can’t expect people to see you and go “yeah, this person is totally approachable.” No, you’re intimidating.

If people pushed you out of your lane, then take it back! It’s okay to not like Shuake or any popular ship. If people are dicks about it, then call them dicks, but the others won’t care if you don’t like it. We’re allowed to like different things.
